Iadopted Eliot (nickname Ellie) in 1998 and am so lucky to still have her after two bouts of Hepatic Lipidosis (liver disease). The first time was when she was six and I prayed and prayed she would not go just yet, even though the vet recommended putting her down, because she is the most loving, fun, feisty, attentive cat I could ever hope for. I have two other cats and Eliot always manages to take center stage when the other two come around. The second time she was hospitalized was right after she turned thirteen. I know I had been fortunate to have her double her life span but I still visited her twice daily at the hospital to let her know how much I love her. She recovered! I know now she came into my life as a healing force for me and I guess she knew that I could use a bit more and I thank her for that! Eliot is a female who’s named after a female writer, George Eliot, who had to use a male’s name in order to get published.
Eliot can be sleeping at one moment and suddenly get up and run through the house like someone’s chasing her. She leaps to the top of her pet condo with so much force that it shakes! Her pupils widen and after about three laps in the house, she settles. She loves a few games, especially the one where I cover her up (like with a light kitchen towel) and then quickly pull it off her. She loves to grab at it and whenever she feels satiated, she just lets the towel fall on her one last time and takes a nap covered up. Whenever a new toy comes into the house she has first shot at it, whether the other two like it or not! She’s the only cat out of three that calls me from another room to ask to get settled for a nap, either in one of the bedroom drawers, or under the bed covers. Or she’ll call from the bathroon for me to turn the faucet on for her so that she can drink from it. While I’m on the computer she wants to be held and wraps herself around my neck, making it difficult for me to move but I love when she does that! She’s the cleaner of the house. She cleans both the other two cats, whether they like it or not! She’s actually very high maintenance but I do love that she returns all my attention with so much by wanting to be wherever I am. Oh! I hear her now! She wants help getting under the bed covers, gotta go! |

Breaking Ties/Banishing a Person from Your Life
Breaking Ties/Banishing a Person from Your Life
This is a spell for love gone wrong, for ending a personal, family or business relationship
that you no longer wish to be in. It is a fire spell. To work it, gather herbs of protection
and an image of the person (photograph, poppet, etc.) -Something written in their own
hand, a lock of hair, a piece of clothing or a personal object will also do.
Put everything into a fireproof container – iron cauldron, marble mortar, whatever –
and set fire to it as you perform the spell. It should make a very satisfactory blaze that reduces to ashes.
The ashes can be buried or washed down a drain. Flush them down a toilet if you are very angry.
Dispose of all the objects that connect you to the person: gifts, letters, photographs, etc.
It is especially important to get rid of jewelry. Move house if you have to. Be careful with this spell.
It’s permanent, so don’t use it unless you really mean forever. It’s also powerful.
“by basilisk and bloodstone
by the garlic in the fields
by the poppies and what they yield
invisibly I make my shield
to detect thee and deflect thee
By dragon’s blood and salamanders
by horses when their hooves strike sparks
by the dragon breathing flames from the Book of Life
I erase thy names
I cut the cords and unlock the chains
I sever all the ties by which we were bound
and with impenetrable walls myself I surround
against thy power and its source
against thy evil and its source
Vesta, Pele, Lilith Kali Kali Kali
I banish thee forever from me
and any harm from thee to me
doubles back and tables turned
thou shalt by thyself be burned
Lilith, Vesta, Pele Kali Ma Kali Ma
by the power of three times three I banish thee,
I banish thee, I banish thee I am set free So mote it be! “

Breaking Bad Habits & Overcoming Obstacles
Take a black candle which has been ritually cleansed and some anointing oil which has also been ritually blessed. Do not use anything for this which has not been cleansed or blessed already. Depending on the desired result, you should choose an oil which corresponds to this end. At the time of the new moon, or when it first begins to wane, cast a circle or use your 9′ cord to create a sacred space. Place the black candle (preferable a taper) on the altar with the oil. Have only blessed/cleansed tools in this ritual. Cast the circle. Call the Goddess and her consort. Use a burin to engrave the candle with the spell you wish to cast. Now, anoint the candle using the oil. While you anoint the candle with the oil, speak these words out loud or silently “Tonight no moon, tomorrow the first one. Let this be eroded till my will be done. Candle burns down to remove all ill. Let this spell be cast by the power of my will.” And once you have anointed the candle, place it in a safe place to it can burn down completely.
The Daily Motivator for March 11th – Creative living
Creative living
Creativity is more than just making stuff, and more than just making stuff up. Creativity is expressing, in all sorts of ways that have no limit, what it means to be alive.
You can be creative in such a way that the whole world celebrates your creativity. Or you can be just as creative in ways that only you will ever know.
Being alive is being immersed in an ever-expanding set of possibilities. Being creative is giving your own special meaning and purpose to those possibilities.
Creativity is a special kind of magic. It produces more value than it consumes.
When you are stuck, creativity will move you forward. When the goal seems completely out of reach, creativity will open up a way there.
In all you do, find new ways to be creative. Creativity is one of your most valuable skills, so put its power to work every chance you get.

Calendar of the Sun for March 11th
Calendar of the Sun
11 Hrethemonath
Marduk’s Day
Colors: Light blue and grey
Element: Air
Altar: On a cloth of pale blue lay a naked sword, three grey candles, and a loaf of bread shaped like a dragon.
Offerings: Cut something into pieces.
Daily meal: Fish or meat, chopped finely.
Invocation to Marduk
The warrior’s sword is clean and bright
And has two edges. So Marduk found.
Taking up the sword, he slew
The Dragon Mother Tiamat
And from her body carved the earth
And the overarching sky.
Yet he found, as we all do,
That he could not live anywhere
On this the new earth without
Remembering her, and all that she was,
And he lived and died surrounded
By her at the last,
And her body took his
When at last he was betrayed.
Beware, ye who would be king
By force of arms! Your enemies define you,
So choose them well.
(One who has been chosen to do the work of the ritual takes up the sword and cleaves the bread dragon into pieces, which are then passed around and eaten. Exit to the beating of a drum.)
Confidence Spell
Confidence Spell
Buy or make a charm that resembles a lions head.
Pass it three times through the flame of a yellow candle, meditating on your esteem and the
respect you deserve. Infuse then the charm with your energy by anointing with essential oil of
rose, orange or hazel. Wear it on a chain, band, or in your pocket. Whenever you touch it,
feel the confidence building within you.
Courage Spell
Courage Spell
Sit back and relax your body. Let your mind go and think of nothing.
Breathe calmly for about a minute. Chant:
Burning flame, cooling wind.
I summon courage from within.
I call on all my strength and love,
Send me power from above.
Continue chanting staring quiet and getting louder. Do this for about three minutes.
Daily Motivator for March 9th – Amazingly able
Amazingly able
Progress is made by those who do what they are afraid to do. Progress is made by those who do what they did not previously know they could do.
You cannot push the world forward by staying safe and comfortable. You cannot make great advances by holding tightly to the tired excuses and outdated assumptions.
It is energizing and liberating to turn down a road you have not traveled before. To reach toward what you cannot yet touch brings new passion and strength to your life.
You are amazingly able to do not only what you have already done, but also what you cannot yet do. Your capacity for learning and improvement has no limit.
Beyond where you are comfortable is where you will grow and improve and achieve. Nudge yourself away from what you already know, and discover how very much more you can be.
Give yourself the priceless gifts of new experiences, new skills, new knowledge and the confidence of knowing how quickly you can grow. Expand your horizons, again and again, and discover that every limit is there to be transcended.

The Festival of Oestre – March 21
The Festival of Oestre
The festival of Oestre or Spring Equinox, takes place on the day when the hours of light and dark art of equal length. Oestre was the Goddess of Spring, signifying all that was new and fresh. In the past, only fires were extinguished and the grates were cleaned. Only then could new fires be lit. This is where our tradition of “spring cleaning” originates. Today’s use of eggs, rabbits and hot crossed buns are rooted in ancient Pagan customs.
Dragons of Darkness Chant
The following call or brief ritual are meant to be included in your other rituals, within a cast and sealed circle. They are used to add greater power to any spell working because they specifically call the elemental dragons of Spirit. This taps into a vast reservoir of power current which can amplify any other power raised within the magical circle.
Dragons of Darkness
This element “feels” heavier even than the element of Earth. It give a sense of floating in the womb, of the time when each of us was being created. Choose deep, somber music with occasional rushes of energy. Dance as if you were awakening from a deep sleep and stretching for the first time in your life. Let your dancing reflect your desire to be reborn in a new and better image.
Note: Use black (or very dark) candles or other objects along with your chosen element color. Correspond the herbs and oils to the other primary element. Repeat this chant three times:
Dragons of Darkness, your power will run
Until the time of my magic is done.
Teach me your secrets, the dark not to fear.
For dark is receptive, not terror or tear.
Dreams of the Spirit, soar with the night.
Wrap me in guidance, you balance of light.
(The Charm of Making may be chanted here.)
(Ring gong five times, pause, ring once.)
Dragon of Earth Chant
The following call or brief ritual are meant to be included in your other rituals, within a cast and sealed circle. They are used to add greater power to any spell working because they specifically call the elemental dragons of Spirit. This taps into a vast reservoir of power current which can amplify any other power raised within the magical circle.
Dragons of Earth
As humans, we are so familiar with the feel of Earth energies that it is often difficult to imagine what being Earth is like. Earth energies are creative, maternal, slower than those of other elements. Perhaps you can best identify with this element by feeling as if you are the mother of all, a parent who cares for her/his creations. Music should be slower and perhaps heavier, the dance more stately.
Note: Use candles or other objects of a pure dark green color. Choose herbs and oils that are listed as of the element of Earth. Repeat this chant three times:
From your mountain caverns deep,
Rise, Northern Dragon, from your sleep.
Grael (grail)! (Ring gong four times)
Lead me to riches, purpose true,
Endurance strong, I call on you.
Grael! (Ring gong four times)
Calling The Dragon
Calling The Dragon
I do not know a practitioner who is not interested in calling a spiritual or astral entity who will project their presence with such clarity that there is no question of knowing the being is there. Dragons are such fascinating entities, how could a true practitioner not want to feel the unquestioning presence of such a creature?
There is also a greater reason for calling a dragon into stronger presence. The stronger the auric vibrations of such a creature within your ritual circle, the stronger the ritual and power sent into your motivation for the ritual. Practitioners perform rituals for praise and enjoyment; they perform them for special intentions. I know of no true practitioner who does rituals for no purpose whatsoever. To perform a ritual properly, a great amount of time and energy are expended, a complete waste if one has no specific goal in mind.
When you use the dragon call and feel the presence of one or more dragons about you, treat them with respect. Take time to make their acquaintance before asking their help. Most dragons are beneficial and helpful, but all draconic temperaments are extremely sensitive; treat them with the greatest respect.
Note: Perform during bright noon or the waxing Moon for increasing magic, with the Full Moon being strongest; during evening hours or the waning Moon for decreasing magic, with the New Moon being strongest. Use in conjunction with any ritual. This ceremony is primarily to summon the dragon for manifestation. The manifestation may be the rare physical type or, more likely, it will be the sharpening of your inner sight.
Supplies: Pentacle disk; dragon pentacle; water chalice with a little fresh water in it; dish of salt; wine chalice; black (left) and white (right) altar candles; sword; wand; incense burner; appropriate incense; dragon’s blood and mugwort; dragon mirror; gong or bell; staff. Paper and pen to write down any messages.
Use the Basic Dragon Ritual up to the point where you insert the necessary chants for specific spell workings.
Hold the sword in your power hand, the staff in the other. Stand facing the altar and tap the staff three times on the floor while holding the sword pointed at the dragon pentacle. Chant in tones that vibrate through your body:
COME, DRACONIS!
BY YOUR ALL-CONSUMING BREATH, I SUMMON YOU.
(tap staff three times)
BY YOUR PIERCING GAZE, I SUMMON YOU.
(tap staff three times)
BY YOUR MIGHTY STRENGTH, I SUMMON YOU.
(tap staff three times)
BY YOUR WISDOM ANCIENT AND CUNNING, I SUMMON YOU.
(tap staff three times)
BY YOUR MAGICK DEEP AND OLD, I SUMMON YOU.
(tap staff three times)
COME, DRACONIS, TO MY CALL!
You will feel power sent to you from all sides by the half-seen dragons. Listen for any messages that they may give you. You may feel their presence by a sudden temperature change, a prickly feeling between the shoulder blades, unusual currents of air, and other phenomena. If dragons are pleased with you, they often sound a deep vibrating rumble, almost like an enormous cat’s purr.
The Call Of The Air Dragons
The Call Of The Air Dragons
You can call upon air dragons in the spring or whenever you need positive change or fresh energies in your life. You can also invoke their strength when rain is needed either in a particular area of the country or world or when you need rain in your life after a stagnant, arid period (in terms of relationships, work or creativity). Oriental weather dragons are also potent for any form of healing. Their healing powers were found as small pearls after the rain, and red sage is said to grow where dragons rested on the earth.
They assist any artistic or creative venture and will wash away or stir the winds to carry off anything that is no longer making you happy or has run its course. Call the weather dragons whenever you are feeling stifled, whether by physical overcrowding or possessiveness.
Dragons love strings of bells or the Tibetan pairs of bells (mini cymbals you can clash together to stir the powers). Alternatively, buy a rain stick (long, wooden tubes containing beads or seed with spikes inside to create the rhythm). You can buy these in all sizes in any ethnic craft store or on the Internet, and can also use them for rain magick. Write your own dragon call if mine does not feel right for you.
Find an open space away from trees. The center of a lawn in your garden is fine but you can create your dragon call in different places in order to sense different dragon energies.
In time you can internalize the process and call for space in a crowded train. I sometimes visualize the call ritual if I am overloaded with luggage, as I was overloaded with luggage due to my working trips.
Tie long scarves to your wrists and one round your neck that will swirl as you move. You may even find scarves with a dragon design.
Picture your dragons, swirling blues and yellows, rising and swooping like Chinese kites on the breeze.
To begin, shake your rain stick three times, make three sounds with your Tibetan bells, shake your string of bells three times or clap loudly three times to stir the air.Call out:
Dragon of the skies, rise.
Dragon of the skies, rise.
Dragon of the skies, rise, if so is right to be.
Still holding your instrument or, if you are not using one, clap as you move round the area in spirals. You can modify the movements, scarves, etc., if people are around, but try to find a quiet time and place to get the full effect at least once.
Call as you move and play or clap:
Dragons, rise.
From earth to skies,
Dragon share with me,
your pearls of immortality,
that I may be free,
Dragons of the skies.
Continue moving faster, shaking or clapping and calling louder, until you feel the air dragon strength, vitality and creativity stirring within you.
When you feel filled with confidence and optimism, on the final word “free” give a final single loud shake of your rain stick, bells or a last clap.
SIt down wherever you are and shake your hands with the scarves attached to release any excess dragon power.
Quietly thank the dragons and leave a single small mother of pearl or pearl button or earring as an offering to be found by someone to whom it would give pleasure.
When you get home hand the scarves near an open window to absorb any breeze and wear one whenever you need creativity or space.
Repeat the dragon call whenever stagnation returns.
The Dragon Altar
The Dragon Altar
An altar can be any table, chest or microwave cart that is large enough and of a comfortable height to stand and do magic. If you find it impossible to stand during ritual, choose an altar that is a comfortable height while you sit. Colored scarves coordinated to the elements of various dragons can be used to cover the altar. For magicians who are hampered in movement, whether by a broken leg, physical disability, or confinement to a wheelchair, do not despair. Sit at your altar and visualize yourself going through each moving step of the ritual as if you were physically doing it. I known one magician who, while flat in bed for a time, meticulously visualized her way through rituals and got excellent results, although she was unable to do so much as light a candle.
To illuminate the altar, use a black candle on the left end and a white candle on the right. A knowledgeable magician knows that using black candles is not evil magic. The color black is merely the opposite of white; it balances the energies. If you feel you cannot use black, use a very dark blue, purple or indigo.
However, if you do have an aversion to the color black, it signals a need for you to do some intense work on the programming you have accumulated in your subconscious mind. All of us have, at one time or another, received and accepted undesirable programming from others, whether it be from parents, teachers, friends, colleagues, a religious group or simply society in general. Unfortunately, much of this programming is give to us at a very impressionably age when we are not aware enough to reject it. Deity of the Day for February 23rd is Adonis
Deity of the Day for February 23
Adonis

Adonis (Phoenician “lord”), in Greek mythology, the god of beauty and desire, is a figure with Northwest Semitic antecedents, where he is a central figure in various mystery religions. Adōnis is a variation of the Semitic word Adonai, “lord”, which is also one of the names used to refer to God in the Old Testament. Syrian Adonis is closely related to the Cypriot Gauas or Aos, to Egyptian Osiris, to the Semitic Tammuz and Baal Hadad, to the Etruscan Atunis and the Phrygian Attis, all of whom are deities of rebirth and vegetation. His religion belonged to women: the dying of Adonis was fully developed in the circle of young girls around the poet Sappho from the island of Lesbos, about 600 BCE, as revealed in a fragment of Sappho’s surviving poetry.
Adonis is one of the most complex figures in classical times. He has had multiple roles, and there has been much scholarship over the centuries concerning his meaning and purpose in Greek religious beliefs. He is an annually-renewed, ever-youthful vegetation god, a life-death-rebirth deity whose nature is tied to the calendar. His name is often applied in modern times to handsome youths, of whom he is the archetype. Adonis is often referred to as the mortal god of Beauty.

Spell To Banish Anger
Spell To Banish Anger
This spell is performed beside flowing water. Anything from a small stream to a mighty river will do.
Ground and center as in other spells. Cast a circle by imagining a glowing circle of light surrounding you. Take a black stone and cup it in your hands. Raise it to your forehead, concentrating all of your anger and projecting it into the stone. Throw it as hard as you can into a body water, saying:
With this stone
Anger be gone.
Water bind it,
No one find it.
Ground or earth the power you drew upon at the beginning of the spell and open the circle.
‘THINK on THESE THINGS’
‘THINK on THESE THINGS’
By Joyce Sequichie Hifler
In those moments when we quietly sit with mind centered on the fact that God is only good, and that no situation devious or twisted in appearance, has any power except that which we give it by dwelling on how terrible it is – then, there is hope.
If we can become quiet enough in our own minds to know God is good, it will produce one of those times of sweet serenity that settles like an invisible veil between us and our troubles. In those moments of growth and faith will come peace that passes all understanding.
It is good to live an active life, but some of life’s most productive moments are not when the mind and body are hurled through hectic hours at a furious pace. Life offers many tender and beautiful times that demand nothing and give only a quiet calm that will never come in pill form.
Contrary to the belief in any power except God’s, there is a happy medium. It does not come simply by demanding, and there are times when it can be touched on only so briefly. But even in our sore travails there is a time when life finds balance and we live in harmony with God’s laws.

The Element of Earth: Grael (Dragon of Mountains, Land, Minerals, Gems)
The element of Earth rules the northern quarter of the circle. Its ruler is Grael (grail), who over sees the dragons of mountains, land, minerals, gems and moonbeams. Its color is clear, dark green; it is cold and dry. Positive association of Earth are: midnight, winter, the wine chalice, ritual salt, dragon bowl, gem bowl, dragon mirror, gemstones, mountains, caves, soil, respect, endurance, responsibility, stability, prosperity, thoroughness, purpose in life. Negative associations are: rigidity, unwillingness to change or see another side of a problem, stubbornness, lack of conscience, vacillation, earthquakes, slides.
Earth-element dragons are the most placid, unless they are required to stir up great disruptive energies such as earthquakes. The subspecies belonging to this element are the dragons of the mountains and forests and those of desert and arid regions. As might be easily guessed, the element of Earth often work closely with the dragons of fire and volcanoes and those of chaos and destruction.
