Stones Associated With The Fourth Chakra

The Fourth Chakra (heart area)

This chakra relates to love and emotional well-being. When it is unblocked we give love unconditionally and attract to ourselves those people who give us  an abundance of love. When it is blocked we feel the lack of love in our lives as keenly as those with third-chakra blockages feel a lack of material  security. Heart conditions are the most common physical symptoms.

Stones associated with the fourth chakra:

Aventurine is the stone most related to physical health and heart balancing.
Emerald relates most directly to the spiritual aspects of love.
Green calcite Eases old, limiting beliefs (especially those based on fear) from the mind so that new ideas can flourish.
Green tourmaline opens the creative elements of the heart, i.e., adding an emotional depth to one’s creations.
Lepidolite helps to calm the heart and relieves stress.
Malachite releases congestion in the solar plexus, and aids creativity.
Malachite-Chrysocolla blends malachite’s ability with chrysocolla’s gift of soothing and calming.
Pink Calcite helps to release old and hurtful emotional patterns so that the heart can be open to receive and give unconditional    love.
Rhodochrosite helps to relieve anxiety.
Rhodonite helps us to be patient with others.
Rose quartz is the stone for helping to create unconditional self-love.

Stones Associated With The First Chakra

First Chakra (Feet to base of spine)

The first chakra represents our relationship with our physical bodies and with the material world. It grounds us in physical existence. When balanced, its  energy helps us to blend the physical and spiritual, and to eliminate that which is no longer needed for growth. We enjoy physical existence. When  unbalanced, we may be afraid of life, feel like victims, withdraw from physical reality, or operate in our own interests only. Physical symptoms can include  any difficulties with feet, legs, or lower back.

Stones associated with the first chakra:

Black tourmaline: This is a protective stone when you feel threatened at the survival level.
Hematite: This stone helps you to set protective boundaries when you feel as if others are intruding into your private space.
Black and snowflake obsidian help you to see what material things you no longer need for growth.
Smoky quartz, the lightest of the dark stones, helps to blend the energies of the first and seventh chakras.
Tiger’s eye helps you to feel secure about physical existence.

Any of these stones may be placed at the base of the spine or at the feet.

Types of Chakras

Types of Chakras

The simplistic position asserts that there is only one type of chakra, or at best two (major and minor). This in fact is quite incorrect, and comes from the obscure nature of the aura and the subtle body (yogic anatomy), and the fact that the different grades, organs, strata, and so on are frequently confused and jumbled, owing to a lack of an overall systematic framework.

It seems to me that there are at least five different chakra series (and probably more). These are:

The Seven Primary Major Chakras – these are archetypal and pertain to the Inner Being. They represent the original microcosmic vertical axis (“Mount Meru”), and contain (links to) gods and major planes of existence

The Tan Tien (“Cauldren” for the processing of ch’i), of which there are at least three, which seem to constitute the etheric counterparts of the Primary Chakras, and are located with the body.

The (at least 18, if not much more) Secondary Major Chakras. These are etheric and pertain to the Outer Being. They ideally constitute – or rather can be awakened into – a rhythmic microcosmic orbit (although this is very rarely the case because of congested energy flow etc)

The ten(?) important “chakras” (if they can be called such) are obviously also associated with the internal organs. Chinese medicine speaks of the five pairs (one major and one minor) of internal organs, each pair associated with specific correspondences such as an emotion, a taste, colour, cardinal point, etc etc. These body chakras would seem to constitute a different series again.

A larger number of Tertiary, Minor Chakras. These are associated with acupunture points, sensitive points in the body, etc

An even much larger number of Quaternary, Quinternary etc chakras (minor acupuncture points etc), associated along the meridians.

Human Energy Systems

Human Energy Systems

In Sanskrit chakra means “wheel,” and those who can see them describe chakras as spinning wheels of light. They are found in the aura, an electromagnetic force field which surrounds every living being. The energy of the aura is that of our thoughts and feelings, and the chakras concentrate and coordinate the flow of these energies in and from the physical body.

We who use healing modalities based on subtle energy (flower essences, crystals, Reiki) believe that illness first manifests in the realm of thought and feelings. Stress is an excellent example. The mind says, “I’m doing too much; I’m under pressure.” This message translates into the emotional feeling of being burdened. On both levels resistance creates energetic blockages form, as mind and emotions try to close up against what is perceived as a negative experience.

If the mind and emotions continue to create resistance the blockage will eventually assume physical proportions, lodging in whichever physical area is most vulnerable.

The purpose of chakra balancing is to dissolve blockages before they become physical (although it can also be helpful with physical conditions. Crystals, being symmetrical in their molecular structure, radiate energy in a consistent and steady manner. When they’re used in chakra balancing they can help to reestablish a healing, creative flow.

Each chakra has a color, and usually stones of corresponding colors are placed there.

Today’s I Ching Hexagram for Sept. 1 is 7: Discipline

7: Discipline

Hexagram 7

General Meaning: The most successful general is not the one that triumphs in battle, but the one who is able, through strength of a resolute discipline and the personal power that results from that, to achieve victory without spilling blood. This is why for the effective leadership of any organization the key virtues are clarity, decisiveness and conscientiousness. The most effective team or partnership marches with a single purpose — a dedication to a common goal that is held dear by all. Otherwise, even with an excess of external discipline, unpopular wars are seldom winnable.

Let power be held in check by the acceptance of a common discipline, and submission to a higher authority. Look to the common good. When life is in balance, evil impulses are checked by human decency; parents die before their children; leaders lead and followers follow. If you hold or aspire to a position of leadership, remember that the true leader speaks to and captures the hearts of the people and articulates a clear, simple vision that unites them as a team.

In the realm of government, the relationship between the army and state is critical. Only when the state is economically prosperous can the army be strong. Only when the army is disciplined can the state be protected from disruptive outside forces. For this balance to be preserved, government must be steady, and mild toward its own people. When balancing strong complementary forces, modesty and generosity at the center can be a magnetic force that keeps relationships intact. Coordination of all elements is essential for success at this time.

How Powerful Is The Mind?

How Powerful Is The Mind?

You don’t need to set up an altar with half a dozen bat’s feet and thirteen black candles on it in order to curse someone. A simple thought of hatred toward another person can have the same effect. When we think a thought with feeling, we are in fact hurling an energy ball into the ether. Scientists have not yet fully explored the mysteries of this power, but just as we can do damage with our bodies, we can also cause injuries with our minds. A mental hex–called the “evil eve” in many cultures across the world–is widely feared.

By targeting an individual and sending fiendish thoughts their way, we can create a negative energy that hovers like a black cloud over them and sometimes their loved ones too. Life for them becomes stressful and difficult and often spirals out of control. Illness may befall them, financial hardship may hit, they may lose their jobs, or other terrible things may happen to them. . Only strong minded people with a little bit of magickal know how recognize this negativity and know how to stop it from reaching them. Although you can protect yourself with pentacles, salt, prayers of protection from your Book of Shadows that you have used in the pass, and other methods, these techniques only work if you have the strength of mind to believe that the curse will not reach you because negativity thrives on fear. I haven’t made many enemies in my life, but on the very few occasions that I have, I’ve noticed a certain level of chaos building up in my everyday life. This can be anything from the roof needing repairs to a pet getting sick to catching a very bad cold. It’s at times like these that I block destructive thoughts which deflects them straight back to the sender.

It’s not always easy to be pure of heart, because we are human beings and we were born to be emotional People often make us furious, and it’s one of our basic instincts to seek revenge if someone does us a wrong. If, for whatever reason, you find yourself despising or loathing someone, you have to rise above those natural instincts and be the better man or woman.

The best way is to avoid mixing with individuals who hinder your soul and to remove those people from your life completely if you can. It’s important that the people around you connect perfectly with your own energy, complementing it rather than disrupting it. If this isn’t possible–say, you have to see your ex-partner every weekend when he or she visits the kids–try your utmost to be civil and courteous and keep telling yourself that you are the better person. Self-control is a wonderful thing, and although you may not feel very godly at the time, you will feel better once you realize you have not increased your negative karmic load. By being the very best you can be, you redress the imbalance in the situation. It shows great strength of character and acts as a way to further your spiritual development. Your guides commend this type of behavior and often throw in a little reward to follow, be it a bit of extra cash or just a wonderful day out.

Today’s I Ching Hexagram for August 31 is 33: Retreat

33: Retreat

Hexagram 33

General Meaning: All worthy goals meet resistance of some kind. When negative forces predominate, a well-timed retreat is a good way to stay on the path to ultimate success. Tibetans know this.

Strategic retreat is not to be confused with escape or surrender. Successful retreat demands quick and nimble movement — taking up a new position before you are damaged by the current situation. You are not admitting defeat by temporarily retreating, but simply increasing your options, and preserving your resources. Sometimes it is necessary to slow down, let go or move back in order to develop countermoves for the future. Timing is critical, as is how well you position yourself after realignment. Considerations of personal security are critical.

Periods of withdrawal or retreat call for cool-headedness. It is necessary to keep your wits about you. Attend to small details while allowing yourself time to contemplate the whole picture. Be creative; not all progress follows a straight line. Self-confidence is also essential; small setbacks can easily become defeats if we allow ourselves to become mired in self-doubt or self-pity.

Waves of progress are, by their nature, short-lived. Learn to attune yourself to the up-and-down cycles of life. When the wave is behind you, ride it in; when it’s not, lie low. Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you can ‘fix’ any situation whenever you feel like it. Some things are bigger than you are. Hold your pride in check and you will be better prepared to find creative openings.

Daily Motivator for August 30 – Let go of your ego

Your ego won’t solve any problems. Your ego won’t convince anyone of  anything.

Your ego won’t make you stronger or more skilled or more capable or more  knowledgeable. Mostly, your ego will just get in the way of your true essence.

So choose to tap into your authentic power by choosing to let go of the  concerns of your ego. Step purposefully beyond those superficial concerns and  step up to a dramatically higher level of effectiveness.

Let go of your ego, and many of your fears and anxieties dissolve. Let go of  your ego, and the positive possibilities become more numerous, more powerful and  more accessible.

Without ego constantly dragging you down, you can focus on what truly  matters. You’ll find that one of the most powerful things you can do for  yourself is to get past your concerns for yourself.

Let go of your small ego and see life’s big, wonderful, valuable picture. Let  go of your ego, and let your true beauty and goodness soar.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for August 30 – ‘National Holistic Pet Day’

Let’s give kitty equal consideration on today’s ‘National Holistic Pet Day.’ If you have a cat who uses all the wood in your home as their personal scratching post, then put a pinch of chili sauce there. The smell of the spice will keep the cat away while your Feng Shui Fortune Mouse plays. You need only to rub a little of the sauce on the wood and then buff it off in order to keep cats away. If you have an older male cat who is experiencing urinary problems (always consult your vet in regard to any pet advice), treat this problem holistically by adding one teaspoon of white vinegar to the cat’s water. This will help to prevent the formation of stones and potentially high cost remedies and treatments. Likewise, a diet of low-ash cat food also helps this urinary agenda. Alternative advice also says that mothballs should be put between cushions to keep the cat off the couch. Lastly, if your cat comes home with a few scratches to show for his night out, then clean the wounds with warm water before breaking open a Vitamin E capsule and squeezing the oil directly onto the affected area. Just add more if the cat licks the oil off — it can’t hurt him. Go ahead and try these tips as I think they’re the cat’s meow!
