Flower Meaning, Symbolize, and Spiritual Meaning

From uniguide.com

Orange flower symbolism and meanings include healing and well-being, energy, vitality, enthusiasm, balance, fun, pleasure, and more. In this post, we’ll explore the symbolism and meaning of orange flowers as well as occasions in which to give them.

Types of Flowers that Are Orange

Before we go into more detail on the symbolic meaning of orange flowers, I thought you’d be interested in seeing a list of some of the kinds of flowers that come in orange or mainly orange hues. There is a wide variety. Here are some:

Bird of Paradise

Calendula

Carnation

Chrysanthemum

Clematis

Cosmos

Daffodil

Dahlia

Geranium

Marigold

Nasturtium

Orange lily and tiger lily

Orange rose

Orchid

Peony

Poppy

Tulip

Zinnia

What do orange flowers symbolize?

Blending the deep passion and energy of red with the sunny warmth of yellow, the color orange can represent many things. So, orange flowers present a range of opportunities in which to give them as gifts or reasons to plant them in your garden.

A vibrant color, orange can evoke strong responses in many people. Yet, while red flowers are synonymous with romantic love, orange flower meanings can be more nuanced. For example, here is a list of qualities that orange flowers represent:

Health and healing

Vitality and well-being

Balance

Warmth

Enthusiasm

Energy

Passion

Joy and happiness

Fun

Pleasure

Creativity

Flamboyance

Eccentricity

(Just a note: Different types of orange flowers have their own set of meanings. For more details on some of them, just click on the flower names with links in the section above.) {Each flower, if possible, will be getting their own post after I go through the color}

Healing and Well-being

Generally, when people aren’t feeling well, they can tolerate orange foods, like tangerines and peaches, more easily than other foods. So, with bright color, orange flowers exude positive energy for feeling good.

So, orange flowers make great gifts for loved ones who are dealing with a health challenge or who are trying to get into better shape.

In fact, the color orange is associated with the second chakra, or energy center, in the body, which is called the sacral chakra, or Svadhisthana in Sanskrit.

The sacral chakra governs emotional and sexual energy as well as overall mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. In essence, when the sacral chakra is balanced, we feel like we’re flourishing.

So, giving orange flowers or having them in your environment, as well as using the essential oils from orange flowers, is conducive to opening and balancing your sacral chakra and boosting vitality.

Fire and Enthusiasm

Orange flower symbolism also includes fire and enthusiasm. So, orange flowers are the perfect gift or addition to the home when you want to liven things up and even spark your creativity.

Any zany loved ones in your life?

In addition, the color orange is a little zany. So, for a romantic partner, friend, or other loved one who is more off-beat, orange flowers can be the perfect gift. Needless to say, they can also help to liven up what might otherwise be a boring garden.

In conclusion, orange flowers can generate strong feelings in many people. So, if you have loved ones who appreciate the color orange’s special qualities, or you are one of those people, you have a variety of flower options to choose from when it comes to surrounding yourself with vibrant beauty.

Moon Alert

There are no restrictions to shopping or important decisions today. The Moon is in Taurus.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Keep an eye on your money and your possessions today because something unexpected could impact them. For example, you might find money; you might lose money. Likewise, protect what you own against loss, theft or damage. Be careful – just in case.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

You are restless today. Because of this, you might encounter some surprises, which admittedly, could occur because you feel impulsive. Fast actions might bring surprising results. (You’re certainly not going to sit around getting dusty. Not today.)

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Something going on behind the scenes might surprise you. It could be a secret or simply something you never expected. Because you look good in the eyes of others at this time, you will be effective in dealing with whatever comes your way. People (especially authority figures and parents) will approve and possibly even applaud you.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

A friend might surprise you today. Or perhaps, you will meet someone who is unusual or different? Possibly, this connection or introduction will happen through a friend or a group to which you might belong, especially a nonprofit or charitable group. Be open-minded when dealing with new people.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Stay on your toes today because a boss, parent or even a member of the police might catch you off guard or surprise you in some way. (Busted!”) You certainly won’t be able to get away with anything, that’s for sure. Keep this in mind. Forewarned is forearmed.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Travel plans are unpredictable today, which means that anything you have scheduled might be delayed or cancelled. Or in turn, you might have to travel when you did not expect to do so. News related to legal matters or a medical situation might also surprise you. Get things in order.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Stay on top of your banking scene and anything to do with shared property, inheritances, insurance matters and taxes because something unexpected could impact these areas. Just in case, be ready for anything because you snooze – you lose. Double check figures related to taxes, debt and insurance matters.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

A friend or partner might surprise you today by doing something you did not expect. They might have an unusual proposal? Or they might introduce you to someone who is different or unusual in some way. Be aware of this and expect the unexpected.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Your work routine will be interrupted today, very likely by technical problems like computer glitches, printer failures, mechanical breakdowns or a dead cell phone. Arrgh. Try to anticipate what might happen. For example, keep your equipment charged.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Parents should know that this is an accident-prone day for your kids, which means you have to be extra vigilant. Know where they are at all times. Be sure to remove them from hazardous situations, especially related to electricity. Meanwhile, love at first sight might happen for some!

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

In some fashion, your home routine will be interrupted today. Small appliances might break down or a minor breakage could occur. Someone unexpected might knock at your door. Be smart and get dressed. Perhaps stock the fridge so that you are ready for anything. (A family member might have a surprise.)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Pay attention to everything you say and do today because this is an accident-prone day for your sign. Therefore, think and be mindful while driving, jogging or cycling. Likewise think and be mindful before you speak or do anything. This way you will have no regrets later. On the upside, you might have brilliant, genius-like ideas.

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actress Rashida Jones (1976) shares your birthday today. You are the classic Aquarian. You are highly individualistic and concerned about the rights of others. You are passionate and will fight for a worthy cause. This is a year of learning, reflection and teaching. Explore ideas and philosophies that will give you a better self-awareness about your life.

Moon Alert

After 4 AM EST today (1 AM PST) there are no restrictions to shopping or important decisions today. The Moon is in Taurus.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

You will be surprised today about how much you emotionally identify with your possessions. (“My precious!”) This is why you might not be willing to lend something to someone. Or you might find yourself feeling you have to defend yourself where there is really nothing at stake.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Today and tomorrow the Moon is in your sign, which can make you more sensitive to the feelings of others. Therefore, your feelings and reactions might be heightened. Nevertheless, the good news is that your luck will be a tiny bit better. Ask the universe for a favour!

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

This is a curious day because with Mars in your sign, you are confident and proactive. Nevertheless, today the Moon is hiding in your chart, which will make you be tempted to withdraw from others and keep your feelings secret. “I wasn’t there. I didn’t see anything.”

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Your emotional contact with friends and members of groups is important to you today. You might feel more protective and supportive than usual to someone. This is a good day to examine your overall goals and make sure they are an expression of what you (not others) want to do.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Today you are noticed more than usual. Details of your intimate and personal life seem to be on public display for some reason. Do be aware of this in case you have to do some damage control. This is a good day for any kind of public relations work or sales.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Today you have a strong urge to get away from your daily routine and go off somewhere to find adventure or do something different. Ideally, you would love to travel. At least, you can be a tourist in your own town. Enjoy meeting new friends from foreign countries and different backgrounds. Do something different!

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

You are a people pleaser; nevertheless, today your response to others might be more emotional and more intense. (This will surprise you as well as others.) You might find that you want something that someone else has. Or perhaps you have strong opinions about an arrangement with shared possessions?

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Today and tomorrow the Moon is opposite your sign, which means personal relationships and partnerships will be a stronger focus for you. Conflicts will be more emotional. Therefore, guard against knee-jerk reactions. Avoid saying or doing anything you will later regret.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Very likely, today you will have to put the emotional or practical considerations of someone else before your own. You might perform a service for someone or do a favour for them. Meanwhile, your health or something to do with your pet might concern you today.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Romance will be more passionate and emotional today. In part, this is because it’s difficult for you to conceal your feelings from others today. Don’t worry about this. You might also feel overprotective about your kids or the care of someone else.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Today it will please you to withdraw to the privacy of your home and enjoy relaxing in familiar surroundings. Some of you might have a heart-to-heart discussion with a family relative, especially a female. Try to be lighthearted and laid-back about things.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Today you feel a need to have a connection with others, which is why you want your conversations with daily contacts to be meaningful. You won’t be satisfied with superficial chitchat or shallow conversations. You want the skinny about something. Wazzup?

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actress Debra Jo Rupp (1951) shares your birthday today. You are sensitive to the world around you and the feelings of others. Therefore, avoid negative energy, which will drain you. Take care of yourself this year because service to others will be an important theme. It’s also a good year for a personal makeover.

Fairy Cakes with Cream Icing

Actual fairy cakes are about the size of raspberries [All L. B. side notes appear in [ ]. My granddaughter and I collected larger sized acorn tops (these are used a dishes by Fae Folk) and then bake about 8 fairy size cakes in those. Baking time varies so check them after about 5-7 minutes to see if they are done]. Since it is hard to find baking pans that small, you can bake them in a muffin tin.

INGREDIENTS

500 mL flour 2 cups

10mL Baking Powder 2 teaspoons

5mL Salt 1 teaspoon

175 mL [stick] Butter 3/4 cup

375mL White Sugar 1 1/2 cups

3 Eggs 3

5mL Vanilla 1 teaspoon

325 ml Milk 1/13 cup [L.B. Side Note: I found Whole Milk works the best but 2% or Skim will work also]

  1. Grease the muffin tin with a bit of butter [. B. Side Note: You can use muffin liners also]
  2. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream together the butter and sugar, then add the effs and vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy.
  4. Add a few spoonfuls of dry ingredients then some milk to the cream mixture. Keep alternating ingredients until well mixed.
  5. Fill the muffin cups [and acorn tops if using them] three-quarters full. Bake at 180 degrees C (350 degrees F) for 20-25 minutes. [May take longer depending on your oven]
  6. Let cool before frosting with your favorite icing. [For me it was a light cream cheese frosting made with almond extract instead of vallia]
