A Thought for Today

“We need the tonic of wildness…At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.”

From Ten Inspiring Quotes From Henry David Thoreau’s Walden

I Am sorry I wasn’t on yesterday but I wasn’t feeling very good. Today I am a little better but in a mental and emotion  turmoil over something happening in one of my children’s lives so I will do posts I feel comfortable with, with the energy I have rolling around inside and out.

Wednesday from whitewitchgrimoire.com

Planet: Mercury
Colors: The Color Purple ….you sho is ugly (if you get that movie reference, you are my new bff and henceforth must send me good vibes. I do not make these rules, but I live by them)

Wednesday is just a lucky day. When doing money work, I love to do it on a Wednesday. I enchanted my own website using geomantic glyphs during a waxing moon on a what? A Wednesday. Acquisitio and Conjunctio. Mercury is a quick little dude with those wings on his shoes. Travel, luck, focus, communication are all good on a Wednesday. I also like to divine with cards and charms on this day and have heard it’s also great for runes. Another thing about this day and an interesting note is that if you are doing any kind of spell to distract, hide or mislead, this is the day for such fuckery. Mercury is a sneaky little dude. Play the lottery or lay some tricks. See what happens. I don’t judge and most likely wanna hear all about these things anyway. Great day to say what the f**k you really mean.

Spell for Tuesday

Open the Third Eye

This is one psychic spell you really have to do on a Monday to harness the power of the moon.

  • A piece of moonstone or aquamarine
  • Purple marker or paint
  • A cup of clean water

The day before you want to perform the spell, drop the stone into the water and leave it on your altar until you are ready. Monday night, find a quiet and peaceful place to do the rest of this psychic spell.

Take the piece of crystal and hold it to your forehead, and visualize your third eye opening when you do. Picture the crystal as a magnet, pulling in energy for you.

Set the stone back down and draw an eye on your forehead in the same place with the purple ink (need I say it should be a washable product?). Let the ink dry, and continue your visualizing to open up that eye. Hold the moonstone to the eye you drew, and repeat several times:

Open the sight,

With moon light

Drink the cup of water that had held the crystal, and repeat the chant again. Sleep with the eye still on your forehead, and don’t wash it off until you have to. Chances are, that will mean the next morning before work or school, but if you are lucky enough to not have to worry about that, leave it in place for added power. You should soon start to feel new psychic abilities start to waken up.

Some Humor for Your Day

I am sorry there are only a couple of the daily posts and tomorrow will be done tomorrow. I was up over 24 hours between yesterdays and this morning when I finally could fall asleep at almost 8 AM CDT I slept until about an hour ago. With the heat index going to be over 100 F most of this week I am going to try to make sure the daily and birthday horoscopes along with the current moon phase and northern hemisphere’s planetary positions get up for each day. As for the rest of the regular daily posts it’s anybody’s guess that my computer won’t act up because of brown outs. I will be checking all emails tomorrow along with sending out lessons to any of my apprentices that are waiting for one.

If you live in an area that is affected by this current heat wave, try to stay cool, drink plenty of non-carbonate and caffeine free fluids. Check on elderly family and neighbors to make sure they are all right.

Click here to read Georgia Nicols Daily and Weekly Horoscopes

All Signs

Everything has a chart — not just people — because a chart is based on date, time of day and longitude and latitude. (Hold that thought.) This week Mercury retrograde begins! Mercury has domain over everything that MOVES FORWARD like ground transportation, words and ideas. So, if you buy a car, computer or phone during Mercury retrograde, it will have Mercury retrograde in its chart, which means it might have glitches or delays. (It’s okay to buy most things if you watch out for errors in paperwork and communications.) Mercury is retrograde from Aug.23 – Sept. 15; but if buying expensive items, avoid doing so from Aug. 10 – Sept.30. Fortunately, Mercury retrograde helps us to finish old business, research history and be introspective. (Of course, a brain is only as strong as its weakest think.)

Aries (March 21-April 19)

You’re busting your buns to work hard; however, Mercury retrograde might interfere. It could create delays, late deliveries, confused communications with coworkers, lost paperwork and silly errors. On the upside, this is an excellent time to finish old work connected with your job. It’s also an excellent time to finish medical procedures. Nevertheless, your primary focus this week is to enjoy vacations, fun outings, romantic dates, playful activities with kids and sports events. It’s a wonderful time to express your creative talents through art, handicrafts and whatever you like to create with your hands. Stay chill at the beginning of the week because this week gets better and better.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Many of you are encountering or hearing about old flames from your past, which is sometimes exciting and thrilling, but sometimes not so much. Nevertheless, you’re in a playful mood! In fact, you have lots of energy for competitive sports and physical activities. However, everything to do with sports, the entertainment world, the hospitality industry, fun socializing and dealing with kids is also where you might experience delays and confused communications. Double check all reservations. Meanwhile, your focus continues to be on home, family and your private world. Many of you are involved more than usual with a parent.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Very likely, you have family members camped out on your doorstep, eating out of your fridge. Hopefully they will cook and clean. This is also an excellent time to tackle home repairs that you might have been avoiding. Under the influence of Mercury retrograde, these repairs will flow smoothly and quickly. Meanwhile, you are basically upbeat! In fact, your communications with others are warm, friendly, diplomatic and charming. Everyone loves you! In turn, this makes you feel so good that your appreciation of life is heightened, including your appreciation of the beauty of your daily surroundings. (Go figure.) Be patient with the chaos at home. Everything in life is temporary.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

More than most, you will feel this Mercury retrograde because it’s taking place in your chart where Mercury “lives” (for want of a better word). That’s why this is the classic time for you to face transportation delays and breakdowns of cars and trucks or bikes. You will very likely encounter people from your past that you haven’t seen for a while – siblings, relatives and neighbours. Almost certainly, you will run late or miss appointments and suffer from delays in the mail. Cheques will be late. But on the upside, it can be fun running into people you have history with. And this is an excellent time to finish studies, finish writing projects or finish that book – or thesis. (Major groan.)

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Leos will experience delays to their financial scene, which includes salary payments, cheques in the mail being late and that sort of thing. Grrr. Naturally, this is a drag. (Money is so handy when you want to buy frills like food.) On the upside, many of you will wrap up financial matters or seal the deal, especially to do with your income. You’re working hard now to earn money, and many of you are spending it freely as well. This is a great time to buy wardrobe items, especially vintage clothing. Things tend to go your way now because the Sun is still in your sign along with fair Venus, which makes everyone want to be in your company. (Your bathroom mirror is covered in kisses.)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

You will feel this Mercury retrograde for two reasons: Mercury is your ruler; and this particular Mercury retrograde is in Virgo. (Yikes!) This is why you’re running into old friends, partners and ex-spouses. Mars in your sign right now makes you proactive, direct and ready to make a first move. This might surprise some of your old acquaintances. Furthermore, because Mercury is retrograde in your sign, this will make you less inclined to “overthink” things. Ironically, you might act more decisively. (Who knew?) Your desire to travel and expand your world continues to be strong. Expect opportunities to do so. Likewise, opportunities in publishing, the media, medicine and the law also exist. Stay tuned!

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

This is an intriguing time because behind-the-scenes stuff is going on. Secrets are being revealed. You might feel betrayed or marginalized. These could be minor occurrences or it could be something that hits you in the gut. Basically, it’s stuff from the past that is surfacing and now you see it clearly. At least, if not clearly, you have a rough outline. (Is that a paisley shirt?) Fortunately, friends are supportive, which is reassuring. In fact, you’re enjoying a lovely popularity with others. It’s also a fortunate time for you because the help and resources that you need from others will be forthcoming. “Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound!” (Perfect timing.)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

This is the last week when you have this wonderful advantage of having the Sun at high noon in your chart, thrusting you into a limelight that is flattering! Oh yes. People admire you! Especially bosses and people in authority who now see you as competent and capable – even if you don’t do anything special. (Garbo was right. Good lighting is everything.) Meanwhile, Mercury retrograde will continue to attract friends from your past back into your world. These people might not only be old friends, but they could be casual contacts that you made previously when you were in a club or organization. You might be able to use this time for closure or wrapping up things with someone. Put it to good use.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

As the traveller of the zodiac, you have recently enjoyed wonderful opportunities to travel and expand your experience of the world. This is the last week that you have this strong influence at play, so make the most of it! For those of you who can’t travel, you can still satisfy your urge to expand your horizons by exploring your own neighbourhood or city and learning new things. Meanwhile, this week Mercury retrograde officially begins and this particular Mercury retrograde takes place at the top of your chart, which means you are bound to encounter parents, bosses and authority figures whom you have not seen for a while. Or you might meet them in your dreams.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Your life has been unusually intense (for many of you) in the past few weeks. This is the last week that this intensity will pulsate. (It’s been a ride.) For some of you, this manifested as a passionate romance. Intimate relations have been affectionate and certainly memorable. Some of you have been in touch with old flames and people from your past. In fact, people from distant lands, other countries or those who are “different” from your own circle have also resurfaced in your life. All of these influences might prompt you to think about a residential move. Even though you are serious and you plan carefully, at times, you can be surprisingly capricious.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Your strong focus on partners and close friends continues this week – for the last time. Naturally, you will continue to think of close partnerships — but not in the same way as you have in the last few weeks. Meanwhile, the advantage for your sign from this particular Mercury retrograde that begins this week – is that you will more clearly define boundaries about shared property and anything to do with shared resources with partners and others. You’ll be able to remove fuzzy confusion and assumptions. You will get a better idea of what is expected of you and what you can expect of others. Many of you will even clear up red-tape paperwork that needed to be done. (Congratulations.)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Perhaps more than most signs, you have been in contact with old friends as well as old partners and ex-spouses in the past few weeks. This will be an eye-opening, educational moment for some of you. For others – not so much. Let bygones be bygones. In fact, some relations with partners and close friends are a tad testy right now, which means patience is your best recourse. (Isn’t it always?) Meanwhile, this is the last week where you will be so keen to work hard and accomplish as much as possible. Coworkers will be supportive. In fact, some of you might kindle a work-related romance. This year your greatest strength is your sense of optimism and belief in yourself. Remember this

A Thought for Today – Pagan/Witch Pride

I just want to add it is also one of the ones its practitioners still to the day get persecuted, shunned, lose family over, besides other negative things attached to it. If only people would ask a witch or pagan to briefly explain their spiritual path we witches would be able to come out of the broom closet easier, where an amulet openly that we as individuals feel represents our spiritual path like Christians who wear a cross, or a Jewish person who wears the Star of David instead of feeling we have to hide under our clothing or carry it in a pocket.

From the first time I heard the following song to this day it inspires me and helps me to not go back into my broom closet but to be proud of the fact that my spiritual and magickal path is how I choose to connect with the divine and Mother Earth’s inhabitants be they animal, bird, reptile, aquatic, or another sort of human species (an example would be Fae Folk or the Spirit Plane). The only sentence I sort of disagree with is, “We don’t need no angels, we have fairies in their place.” A personal choice I made is to believe in the Archangels and the help they can provide to us if we ask them to especially when it comes to self-protection or protecting our home, or vehicle.

I am Pagan and I’m Proud

Song: I Am Pagan Artist: Spiral Rhythm Album: We Are Light

I am pagan And Im proud I am pagan Gonna shout it loud I am pagan Want the world to know That I follow the Goddess Cause she rocks my soul

Dont need your bible Ive got the Wisdom of the crone

Dont need your heaven Into this life Im reborn No ten commandments One fills the bill And it harm none Do what you will I am pagan

And I’m proud I am pagan Gonna shout it loud I am pagan Want the world to know That I follow the Goddess Cause she rocks my soul

Don’t need your churches The worlds My sacred space

Dont need your angels I’ve got fairies In their place

We raise the spirit Most every night When we dance the fire In the pale moonlight

Are you pagan I am pagan Are you proud I am proud Are you pagan I am pagan Then shout it loud And I’m shouting it loud

If youre pagan Let the whole world know That you follow the Goddess Cause she rocks your soul

Well you take your path And Ill take mine A little tolerance And well both be fine

You keep an open mind It’ll set you free And Goddess bless So mote it be

Are you pagan I am pagan Are you proud I am proud Are you pagan I am pagan Then shout it loud So I’m shouting it loud If youre pagan Let the whole world know That you follow the Goddess Cause she rocks your soul

Are you pagan I am pagan Are you proud I am proud Are you pagan I am pagan Then shout it loud

So I’m shouting it loud If you’re pagan Let the whole world know That you follow the Goddess Cause she rocks your soul Are you pagan I am pagan

Are you proud I am proud

Are you pagan I am pagan

Then shout it loud So I’m shouting it loud

If youre pagan Let the whole world know

That you follow the Goddess Cause she rocks your soul

Good day WOTC Family and Friends!

It was long night filled with nightmares when I finally fell asleep after being up for 22 hours. Now it is going to be a long after only about 90 minutes of sleep since yesterday morning. But I am here still trying to reach the goal I set for myself on the August new Moon to not miss any days of posting until the new Moon in September. Excuse any typos or the usual order of posts not being in their usual line up and there might be a couple of posts missing. I hope I don’t zone out and just make a total mess of WOTC this morning. I will do the best I can for this moment in time while posting. After this I hope to get a couple or three solid hours of sleep before it is time to feed our fur kids, make us something to eat than get on the road to serve more people paperwork. Thank goodness I don’t do any of the driving so if I fall asleep in the car it’s not such a big deal.

Wishing you all a spectacular Saturday full of whatever you feel like doing and with whom you want to do it with!

Spell for Friday

The Universe Opens

This is an inspiration spell to open up the opportunities that the Universe can provide and to help you see so many new options in front of you.

  • Several feet of white or silver cord
  • 5 pieces of amethyst
  • 5 pieces of fluorine
  • 1 piece of clear quartz
  • A bell
  • Lavender incense

This is a spell for a Monday, to associate with the spiritual nature of the moon. Light the incense before you begin.

Lay out the cord in a circle, overlapping a few times if your cord is long enough. Inside, set the stones around the inside edge, alternating between amethyst and fluorine.

Sit with your hands open, palms up, and ask the Universe to open up and inspire you. Ring the bell one time. Place the last piece of quartz to your forehead and ask again. Set the stone in the center of the circle. Ring the bell.

Do hold your hands, palms down, over your crystal circle. Visualize the vibrations coming up from the stones and radiating up your arms. After several minutes, ring the bell a final time and put out the incense. Leave the stones in place and you’ll start to find new ideas and motivation within a few days.
