Gardening by the Moon Phase, Farmer’s Planting Guide

June 2023 – Gardening by the Moon, Biodynamic Planting Guide

Please read this first:

1) Moon Phase x Moon Zodiac Sign:

Please keep in mind, that Gardening by Moon Phase and Gardening by Moon Zodiac Sign are two different/independent biodynamic systems and they might give you different or contradictiory gardening recommendations.a) Each Moon Phase (except Full Moon and New Moon) lasts about 1 week

b) Each Moon Zodiac Sign lasts about 2.5 days

Try to experiment with these two systems to find which recommendations suits you the most.

2) Tropical (Astrological) x Sidereal (Astronomical) Zodiac:
(1-2 days difference in Leaf, Fruit, Root and Flower days)

There are two different zodiacs for determining the Moon Sign:a) Tropical zodiac (Astrological) is based on the seasons – Vernal Equinox is fixed as 0° Aries (The 1st Fruit day)

b) Sidereal zodiac (Astronomical) takes into account Precession of Equinoxes and shifts 0° Aries back by cca 1-2 days. Maria Thun who was an authority on biodynamics was using this Sidereal zodiac

Try to experiment also with these two zodiac systems to find which system suits you better.

Moon Sign is calculated according to:
Tropical Zodiac (Vernal Equinox is fixed as 0° Aries)
Sidereal Zodiac (Includes Precession of Equinoxes. Used by Maria Thun)

What Planets Are Retrograde June 2023?

What Planets Are Retrograde June 2023? So Many Are Returning

What Is A Retrograde?

A retrograde takes place when a planet gradually slows down its speed in the sky. Each of the astrological planets (aside from the two luminaries, the sun and the moon) have a retrograde cycle. The inner planets (i.e. Mercury, Venus, Mars) station retrograde more frequently than the outer planets (i.e. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto), due to how quickly they whip around the zodiac. When a planet stations retrograde, it can cause delays, slowdowns, and turnarounds pertaining to what that planet signifies. Mercury (aka the messenger) retrograde, for example, tends to be a more challenging time for processing information, communicating effectively, and portraying accurate details. This tends to be a more noticeable retrograde than when an outer planet like Pluto stations retrograde, because of Mercury’s proximity to Earth.

What Planets Will Be Retrograde June 2023?

This month, a total of three planets will be retrograding through the skies: Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto. However, since two of these retrogrades involve outer planets, their effects won’t be as noticeable. It’s that one inner planet that you need to concern yourself with shaking things up a bit more.

What To Expect From June 2023’s Retrograde Planets

Saturn Retrograde (June 17 – Nov. 4)

On June 17, Saturn — the planet of boundaries, rules, and structures — will station retrograde in the mutable water sign of Pisces. While Saturn retrogrades take place annually for about four months out of the year, this is the ringed planet’s first time stationing retrograde in the sign of the fishes in almost 30 years. As a result, the Pisces-ruled house in your birth chart will experience some major restructuring, especially if you’re currently experiencing your Saturn return.

In Pisces, Saturn won’t implement the same, rigid boundaries it’s been used to over the last several years. Instead, Saturn will work to refine and improve the area of your chart where structure tends to be the most absent. Since Pisces is the idealistic, aspirational sign of the zodiac, Saturn’s time in this sign will be all about actualizing your dreams and making them a reality. However, as the retrograde unfolds, you may notice a slowdown in this area of your life. From June 17 until Nov. 4, you’ll be called to reconsider how you’ve been pursuing your hopes and visions. In order for a wish to come true, hard work and discipline is required, and this retrograde will send you back to the drawing board to make some much-needed adjustments.

Neptune Retrograde (June 30 – Dec. 6)

As the month comes to a close, Neptune — the planet of deception, fantasy, and illusions — will also station retrograde in Pisces. Fortunately, this is nothing new for the Pisces-ruled house in your birth chart, since the blue planet has been stationing retrograde in this sign every year for the past nine years. And, since Neptune is one of the outer planets, its retrograde period is much less noticeable. What you may notice, however, is a bit of clarity in the area where you tend to be the most naive. Since Neptune is the planet that can cause confusion and uncertainty, its retrograde tends to soften these effects. So, if you’ve been struggling to see things clearly in the area of fantasy, dreams, and ideals, the fog may temporarily lift over the next five months.

Strawberry Moon: Full Moon in June 2023

Watch for the Full Strawberry Supermoon!

The full Strawberry Moon rises on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Will it be pink? What is the true origin of the name “Strawberry Moon,” and what are some other June Moon names? Learn more!

When to See the Full Moon in June 2023

On the evening of Saturday, June 3—just after sunset—look towards the southeast to watch the full Moon rise gently above the horizon. There, it will appear large and golden-hued.

June’s full Moon will reach peak illumination at 11:43 P.M. Eastern Time. See the Full Moon Calculator for your local time.

Why Is It Called the Strawberry Moon?

The full Moon names used by The Old Farmer’s Almanac come from a number of places, including Native American, Colonial American, and European sources. Historically, names for the full or new Moons were used to track the seasons. Today, we think of Moon names as “nicknames” for the Moon.

June’s full Moon—typically the last full Moon of spring or the first of summer—has traditionally been called the Strawberry Moon. While strawberries certainly are a reddish-pink color and are roundish in shape, the origin of the name “Strawberry Moon” has nothing to do with the Moon’s hue or appearance, despite the evocative imagery (shown in the artist rendering below). A Moon usually appears reddish when it’s close to the horizon because the light rays must pass through the densest layers of atmosphere.

This “Strawberry Moon” name has been used by Native American Algonquian tribes that live in the northeastern United States as well as the Ojibwe, Dakota, and Lakota peoples to mark the ripening of “June-bearing” strawberries that are ready to be gathered. The Haida term Berries Ripen Moon reflects this as well. As flowers bloom and early fruit ripens, June is a time of great abundance for many.

Alternative June Moon Names

Many cultures over time have used different names for the 12 full moons experienced each year. Usually, they’re not based on a color, but on a common activity that takes place that time of year.

Blooming Moon (Anishinaabe) is indicative of the flowering season, while Green Corn Moon (Cherokee) and Hoer Moon (Western Abenaki) suggest that it’s time to tend to young crops.

Other names highlight that this is a time of new life: The Tlingit have used the term Birth Moon, referring to the time when certain animals are born in their region (the Pacific Northwest). Egg Laying Moon and Hatching Moon are Cree terms that also hint at a time of many animal babies.

Alternative European names for this Moon include the Honey Moon and the Mead Moon. June was traditionally the month of marriage, and is even named after the Roman goddess of marriage, Juno. Following marriage comes the “honeymoon,” which may be tied to this alternative Moon name!

The June Full Strawberry Moon

The sweetest full moon of the year is June’s full moon, commonly known as the Full Strawberry Moon. While the full moon itself is inedible, despite how round and delicious it may seem, the Full Strawberry Moon marks strawberry harvesting season in North America. Most Algonquin tribes understood that it was a sign that wild strawberries were starting to ripen and ready for the harvest. Delicious though ripe strawberries may be, June’s full moon has another name that’s even sweeter.

What could possibly be sweeter than strawberries? Try honey. In Europe, June’s full moon was actually known as the Honey Moon. Other European names for it included the Hot Moon, signifiying the beginning of hot summer days, or Hay Moon, because of the first hay harvest. Those names aside, European names for the Full Strawberry Moon overall tend to have sweet, romantic connotations – a good example is the name Full Rose Moon. June’s full moon is also called Mead Moon, which could refer to the mowing of meadows during summer, but there’s another more romantic interpretation as well.

In Europe, it’s traditional to gift mead or honey to a newlywed couple during their first moon of marriage. The name Honey Moon itself has now become a common word in the English language, used to refer to the honeymoon holiday that couples go on right after they’re married. It used to be that newlyweds in ancient Europe would go on a sweet romantic holiday around the time of June’s full moon, because the moon phases were seen as a symbol for the phases of a marriage, with the full moon signifying the fullest and happiest part, the wedding itself.

The Full Strawberry Moon is tied to romance and marital bliss all around the world. In India, for example, June’s full moon is celebrated as Vat Purnima, where married women perform a ceremonial ritual to show their love for their husbands. Vat Purnima is based off a legend from the Mahabharata, about a beautiful woman, Savitri, who is determined to save her husband, Satyavan, who is doomed to die an early death. Savitri fasts for three days before Satyavan dies, upon which she successfully negotiates with the King of Hell for the resurrection of her husband. Similarly, married women nowadays dress up in beautiful saris, fast, and tie a thread around a banyan tree seven times to wish that their husbands will lead long, happy lives.

It is no wonder, then, that the Pagans also call June’s full moon the Lovers’ Moon. This is an excellent time to work on the connections in your life, romantic or otherwise, by showing affection to your loved ones and allowing yourself to be vulnerable to encourage intimacy in your relationships. During this Honey Moon, some Hoodoo practitioners will even use honey in magic rituals to sweeten other people’s feelings towards the practitioner. An example of a sweetening ritual is to pour honey into a saucer containing the target’s name, before lighting a candle on top of it. Another example of a honey ritual is to tie two poppets together with honey between them, in order to heal a broken relationship between two people. Honey rituals aside, true magic may happen when you invest your time and effort during this month to work on your relationships and appreciate the love you have in your life.

JUN. 24: TEMPLAR HOLY DAY. In the Roman calendar this day was thought to be Summer Solstice. The Church renamed this pagan holiday to St. John the Baptist Day. Templars revered it highly. On Jun 24, 1314 a mysterious band of knights joined Robert the Bruce of Scotland on the battlefield making his victory at Bannockburn possible. These knights could only have been the a troop of disbanded and now in-hiding Templars who had fled to western Scotland. St. John’s day was used by Freemasons in 1717 to found the first public (non-Scottish) Order of Freemasonry in London. Masonic teachings are said to descend from the esoteric Christianity of Templarism. St. John the Baptizer was beheaded because he wouldn’t give in and sacrifice his principles. This is a Templar ideal, as is the constancy and regularity — order out of chaos — of the solstices and equinoxes. So for both reasons, Christian and “pagan,” we observe this day.
– Feast of the Sun (Aztec)

Moon Alert

Caution! Avoid shopping or major decisions from 10:30 AM to 8 PM EDT today (7:30 AM to 5 PM PDT). After that, the Moon moves from Libra into Scorpio.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

A tricky day! Most of this day is a Moon Alert, which means avoid shopping (except for food and gas) and important decisions. Nevertheless, because the proverbial train is off the tracks, you can enjoy frank and imaginative conversations with partners and close friends.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Be careful today. The Sun is in one of your Money Houses, which means you are thinking about financial matters. Nevertheless, because most of this day is a Moon Alert, steer clear of financial decisions and shopping (except for food and gas). Just coast.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

This can be an exciting, eventful day for you because during the Moon Alert, your creative abilities are heightened and you will easily think outside of the box. Enjoy creative activities plus the theatre and art galleries. Fun times with kids and romance will be rewarding.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

This is the perfect day to cocoon at home. You might want to entertain; but more likely, you’ll be happy to enjoy some solitude in familiar surroundings. Agree to nothing important today, especially with family members. Take it easy. Business as usual.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

This is a wonderful day to schmooze with friends and groups; however, because of the Moon Alert, which is in effect all day, volunteer for nothing. Just explore ideas with others. Note: this is an excellent day for writers because your creativity will soar!

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Be careful today because today’s Moon Alert is taking place in one of your Money Houses. Restrict spending money to food and gas. You can do your homework; however, wait until the Moon Alert is over to initiate financial negotiations or spend money. Forewarned is forearmed.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Today the Moon Alert lasts most of this day! And it’s in your sign. This is why you might feel like a helium balloon floating free in the sky. Nevertheless, your creativity and appreciation of beauty will be heightened. Enjoy your surroundings.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Don’t worry if you feel a bit indecisive and off your game today. This could be due to the fact that the Moon Alert is taking place in a hidden part of your chart. It’s a poor day to initiate anything or make decisions. It’s also a poor day to shop or make financial decisions. Just coast.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

This is a lovely day to socialize because there is a Moon Alert for most of this day, which encourages conversations with friends and groups to be genuine, revealing and imaginative. People won’t hold back. They’ll be frank and disarming. And so will you.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Today there is a Moon Alert for most of the day; and for your sign, it’s taking place at the top of your chart. This means you might appear to be indecisive to others. They might question your ability. Fear not because everyone is indecisive and vague today. You’re simply high viz.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This is a poor day to make travel plans or important decisions related to publishing, the media, medicine and the law. Wait until the Moon Alert is over to act. Meanwhile, conversations about politics, religion and philosophy will range all over the map while you explore every facet of these topics.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Today, there’s a Moon Alert in one of your Money Houses. Therefore, make no important decisions regarding wills, inheritances, shared property, insurance matters and anything related to the wealth or assets of someone else. Be smart.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

This Wednesday might start just like another ordinary work day but then will unravel as quite romantic and full of surprises.

Whether you have something prepared with your partner or that a secret admirer shows up, be sure you feel the center of attention. Just watch out, because in the last scenario, things might not really be what they look like.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

This Wednesday will give you the occasion to play Cupid for other people so if you’re in the mood to bring joy and change to the lives of others, think of a couple that you want to bring together.

There will be an opportunity for you to do something nice for someone close. Not to mention that such things will leave you feeling extremely happy.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Today is going to be a great day for all communications and for establishing all kinds of contacts. There is also a positive influence of negotiations and mediations that will run smoothly and both sides will be content.

You will also be able to have a good day with your colleagues and everyone will be all helpful and understanding with you and with your tasks.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

This day will focus its attention on the financial side of your life forcing you to make some unexpected decisions.

Be it that you have to make an urgent purchase or that you realize the situation is going to get critical. Be sure you will be forced to budget and analyze your expenses thoroughly in order to save the current situation and avoid it in the future.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Today you might face some difficulties in your relationship due to some past insecurities of yours. Although your partner might not be giving you any reasons to be jealous you will still react in a controlling way that will make them have second thoughts about your integrity.

Don’t over dramatize unnecessarily and try to understand the position of your partner as well.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

This day will offer you a revelatory moment in which you will somewhat understand why some things are happening the way they are.

It is also vitally important that you keep in touch with what your own body is saying, but it may be very hard to listen to it telling you how tired you are, hence the need for quiet meditation and resting the whole day.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Today is going to be a friendly day for you and you will be extracting all positive energies through these interactions. So make sure you reserve some time for your friends later in the afternoon.

As a way to spend your in between time try not to gossip too much with people you don’t really know because word will fly easy these days.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Today will satisfy a new thirst of knowledge you’ve been having so it will influence you to do something in the direction of your studies.

All kinds of educational activities are benefit but mostly those that involve human sciences, psychology and philosophy. You will also have the chance to meet an interesting person later in the evening.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Today you are going to be all enthusiastic and you will speak your mind the whole time. This means that there will be few persons not hearing from you today.

This energy of yours could be put to a greater use if you’d try to do something for yourself or for others instead of being argumentative and ready to enter conflict if someone disagrees with your ideas.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

This is going to be quite an active day for you, especially in terms of financial gain. So be prepared to receive an immediate reward for your work.

However, despite winning your money quickly this doesn’t mean you should be spending it as fast. Think of ways in which you could grow your money and try investing them in personal endeavors.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This is going to be a very organized day for you as you have so many things to deal with in such a short period of time.

You will shortly realize that the only way to get through all of it is to have everything in order. The only word of caution is for you to temper yourself and not get all frustrated when others get in your way or don’t obey your rules.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Today you will be all lucrative and focused. For most natives it will also be a moment of revelation that they actually like their work and that they seem to have gotten to a point in which they are actually good at what they are doing.

All contacts in your professional life, today will be benefited, especially those with authoritative persons.

Red Deer Stag

Stag symbolism and meanings include stamina, virility, grace, instincts, maturity, regeneration, and spiritual enlightenment. The stag – sometimes referred to as hart – is exalted among other deer. He is mature and experienced, having endured life’s challenges, and he has a massive crown of antlers to show for it. Because stags are native to every continent, except Australia and Antarctica, they are subjects in the mythology and folklore of many ancient cultures. In addition, the stag spirit animal appears in the spiritual belief systems of cultures around the world.

Straif

Resilience through hardship, hardening off, discipline, sacrifice

Tree: Blackthorn/Sloe (Prunus spp.)

Letter: Z

When you get mad or hate something because it goes against your grain, you have choices. You can wallow in your anger and lash out foolishly, which effectively makes you act in sympathy with that which you despise. You can do nothing/go the pacifist route and try to repress your anger, which will cause it to build up and eat at you from the inside in the form of depression. Thirdly, you can use your anger as a starting point or what is called a thrust block from which to make yourself so completely different from what is causing you anger that you end up rising above it and beating it at its game. Strife can either drag you down or raise you up by making you more resilient, but it is all in how you choose to handle it.

When you draw Straif, there is an experience being put in your way that isn’t pleasant. This experience can be transformed into a learning tool if you can work it out. Straif is a battle you must fight and often a disruption in routine. Just as a sword must be subjected to multiple processes to become sharp, sparks are going to have to fly before you can forge your destiny. You may need to sacrifice in order to become a stronger, better human being.

By admitting (not repressing), analyzing, and dealing with your dark emotions instead of allowing them to call the shots, drawing Straif well-dignified points to the real possibility you’ve dodged a nasty bit of strife because you’ve already learned not to be fear’s or anger’s puppet.

I / Providing Nourishment

Beneath the immobile Mountain the arousing Thunder stirs:
The Superior Person preserves his freedom under oppressive conditions by watching what comes out of his mouth, as well as what goes in.

Endure and good fortune will come.
Nurture others in need, as if you were feeding yourself.
Take care not to provide sustenance for those who feed off others.
Stay as high as possible on the food chain.

SITUATION ANALYSIS:

You are a conduit in this instance, able to provide the sustenance needed by others.
Position yourself to nourish the truly needy and worthy.
Avoid situations where you might be coerced into supporting the parasites and vermin who deprive your true charges.
Your own nourishment is an issue here, too.
Remember Lao Tzu’s three Great Treasures:
Only the person possessed of Compassion, Modesty and Frugality can remain fit enough to stay free of desperation and keep control of the situation.

Good Day WOTC Family and Friends Here is a Thought for Today

I was very lucky to have a mom who I inherited some of my abilities from and was not upset when I manifested being able to talk to and see those who have crossed the veil at about age 3-years-old. My mom was a Christian but supported me in taking a different spiritual path when I reached 19-years-old. When my healing ability manifested around age 11-years-old she again did not try to stifle it or tell me not to use it. When she had knee replacements done and cataract surgery for each eye she asked me to help her with the pain from the former and to help her heal faster from both. She never tried to stop both of my paternal great-grandmothers from teaching me about medicinal properties of herbs. Unfortunately, I have forgotten most of what they taught as I got older and had a family of my own to take care of.

My heart goes out to those of you whose parents were not as accepting of different abilities as my mom was. I hope one day you all can come out of the broom closet and be accepted for who you are and the spiritual path you chose to follow.

Some Humor for Your Day

My students aren’t afraid to ask questions

“How do you spell toad?” one of my first-grade students asked.
“We just read a story about a toad,” I said, then helped him spell it out: “T-O-A-D.”
Satisfied, he finished writing the story he’d begun, then read it aloud: “I toad my mama I wanted a dog for my birthday.”

Moon Alert

There are no restrictions to shopping or important decisions today. The Moon is in Libra.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Conversations with partners, spouses and close friends will go well today. In fact, your ability to engage with members of the general public is also excellent. Feel free to run your ideas up the flagpole because someone will salute. Competitive sports and high-energy fun beckon to you!

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

This is a solid day for business and commerce. Trust your moneymaking ideas. (After all, you’re the financial wizard of the zodiac.) With Venus in your House of Communications, you can sell your ideas to anyone. Yes, you’re in the zone.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

The Sun is in your sign today dancing beautifully with the Moon, which means your thinking and your feelings are aligned. Therefore, if you decide you want to do something, you will do so because there will be no inner conflict or resistance within you. (Theoretically.)

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

You are best served today by working alone or behind the scenes. You might want to relax in a quiet way; or you might do research, write or pursue a number of solitary activities. (Very few tat nowadays.) This is a good day to buy wardrobe items for yourself – on sale, of course.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

This is a popular day! Enjoy hanging out with friends and interacting with clubs, groups and organizations. You might take a leadership role in a group. You will be successful if you have to teach or lead a group. Get physical exercise to blow off any pent-up steam building up within you.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

If you need approval or permission from someone in authority – a teacher, boss, landlord, a parent or the police — this is the day to make your pitch. You look good to others, which means they will respect what you say. And with the support of the Moon, you might get your way.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Travel plans appeal today. Do anything to make you feel you’re getting more out of life. If you can’t travel, then explore new ideas through books and film. Talk to people from other cultures. Be a tourist in your own town.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Financial discussions will likely be settled in your favour today, which is why this is a good time to talk to banks and financial institutions. It’s also an excellent time to settle disputes about inheritances, shared property or insurance matters.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

A warm interaction with a friend or member of a group will please you today. In fact, this discussion might nudge you in a new direction with respect to future goals. You might see new ways of doing something, which take you in a new direction? Travel if you can.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

It might be difficult to maintain your privacy today. People seem to know information about you, even if you’re not sure why or how. Be aware of this in case you have to do some damage control. Fortunately, this is a strong day for your work or your involvement in a job.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Do whatever you can to satisfy your desire for some stimulation and adventure. Basically, you want to travel; and if you can’t travel, you want to learn something new and meet interesting people. If you want to break free of a predictable routine — do something different!

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Financial assistance or practical help might be the reason you can make positive changes at home. These changes might also affect a family member in a helpful way. Since you’re working hard, it’s not surprising that good things are coming your way.

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actor Colm Meaney (1953) shares your birthday today. You are a serious thinker. Naturally, as a Gemini, you are always curious. You are hard-working, disciplined and reliable. Focus on your personal responsibilities to others this year. Take care of yourself. Put family friends and loved ones first, for your own benefit and enjoyment.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Despite this being just an ordinary Tuesday you are all dreaming with your eyes open and imagining all kinds of fun activities. The natives with children will be most benefited because they will be able to take the little ones for a walk to the park or somewhere fun.

The others will just have to do whatever they want while being stared at by people that are considering them childish and immature.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Today you might be overwhelmed with jealousy and you might act quite possessively and controlling. The guess is that in most cases, you aren’t even in the position to act like that.

The only ones who won’t be feeling the bite of the doubt that much are the single natives whom will be very busy wondering if they should make a move or not.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

This day will be all focused on intellectual endeavors and these are the only areas in which the day will have a positive outcome. So don’t try to take any risks and play lively because this is a day in which you need to be safe and play by the rules.

There might be some troubles with communications, either practical ones or troubles in understanding the meaning of messages.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

This day might get a bit heated for you if you don’t manage to keep your mouth shut if any conflict rises. You really want to speak your mind, no one can stop you to that indeed, but the problem is that you also pretend for people to follow your instructions.

This is where trouble begins for some natives whom are not in the position to give orders to others.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Today is going to be quite a lucky day for you. Maybe you haven’t done anything special to deserve it but you will sure have to find ways to be worth it.

So use your chance properly and see which is the life territory in which you’d really use a helping hand. The greatest chances relate to changes that are made in your personal life, for your self development.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Today you might have the chance to meet a woman that will prove to be of great importance and significance in your life later on.

For the single natives it might represent the figure or the announcer of a soul mate while for women and those in relationship it might represent guidance and a most needed helping hand. So be careful how you interact with people today.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Today it seems that you still want to take everything lightly and you won’t be that much in the mood for work. For some natives, it might be a party announcing soon or even they might throw one. So everyone should be making plans for going out.

There is also a great time for all kinds of bargains so don’t hesitate buying things that seem advantageous.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

This is a great day for you to work on all kinds of plans. From personal ideas to work related organization, this, as long as you just stick to planning and don’t try to get anything to completion.

It is more of a preparation time than action so this is what you should be doing. Other than that, just go on with your usual activities and nothing radical.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Today you will be acting a bit strange, all interested in mysteries and oddities. There are great chances you’d spend the day reading about all kinds of weird things on the internet and thinking how your life is so normal and uneventful.

Don’t dig too dip into such things because your life is just the way it has to be and you wouldn’t be any pleased if it were otherwise.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Today you should be using your free time to dwell in some pleasures that relax you, whether you are going out or staying in for a romantic night with your partner.

You are also very communicative and convincing so if there’s any sensible issue that you want to talk about with someone close this is the right time to make a move.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Today will show you that you have valuable people around you, some of which you didn’t really know about. Forming connections and relationships will play an important role in your day and you should be using any advantage you feel like having.

For instance, you will find it easy to talk to people that are the same gender as you this day.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

This is going to be quite a generous day for you. There are chances for you to receive an unexpected gift or such great news that will fill your heart with joy.

Make sure you reward as well the person that gives you the message. There is also a great time for all natives with children to spend some time in their company and just see what they’ve been up to.

Some Ideas for Inviting Fairies into Your Garden to Go With Today’s Spell

Fairies. How has it taken me this long to cover these amazing magical beings? As a hedgewitch, working with the spirits of the land is just one of the many things I do, and fairies are a pretty important one. I’m not going to go into too much detail about fairies in this post, but if you are interested in learning more about fairies, please refer to W. Y. Evans-Wentz’s book The Fairy-Faith in Celtic Countries. This amazing piece of literature is just one of several texts on which Traditional Witchcraft, including hedgewitchery, is based and is a must read if you wish to work with fairies or even understand the history of witchcraft and folk magic. But I digress! Today we are going to look at how you can invite fairies into your garden to help it grow and add a bit more magic to it.

Grow Specific Flowers

There are several ways you can attract fairies to your garden. They are pretty picky creatures, so making them happy is the key to keeping them in your garden once you have invited them. First, make sure you have the flowers they love. Anything bell-shaped will attract fairies to your garden, as well as hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees. Not sure what to include? Try adding these plants to your garden:

  • Lamb’s ear
  • Yarrow
  • Coneflower
  • Rosemary
  • Lavender
  • Rose
  • Lilac
  • Morning Glory
  • Foxglove
  • Thyme

I planted almost all of these in my garden. I’m only missing coneflower (which I will plant next year) and lilac (which I will likely plant next year too). The best part of these particular plants is they are also ones you will often use in magical workings, recipes, and herbal remedies. Foxglove and morning glory are toxic, so don’t use those, but the others are safe!

Set up a Fairy Altar

Have all the flowers but want something more? Try setting up an altar specifically for fairies and make regular offerings. You can include a fairy statue, tea lights, electric fairy lights, and crystals such as quartz, rose quartz, or moonstone on a flat rock or surface in your garden. Once your altar is set up, be sure to leave offerings on the altar or in small walnut shells. Offerings include:

  • cream or milk
  • beer
  • wine
  • cider
  • honey
  • nuts
  • chocolate
  • flowers (see above)
  • shiny objects like coins and jewelry

Gods – Egyptian Geb

Gods – Egyptian Geb

Geb is the Egyptian god of the Earth. He is also a god of fertility and farming, and is associated with birth, death and the life cycle in Egyptian mythology. Geb is also sometimes referred to as “seb” or “keb”. There is some debate over the proper pronunciation and spelling of his name, as well as when different variants of his name were used in ancient Egypt.

Geb Facts

Name(s): Geb
Rules over: Earth, Fertility, Farming
Gender: Male
Symbols: Reeds, Grain
Sacred animals: Goose, Snakes, Rabbits, Bulls
Parents: Shu (Father) and Tefnut (Mother)
Siblings: Seth, Osiris, Nephthys, Isis, Horus
Greek Similar: Gaea, goddess of the earth.
Roman Similar: Terra Mater

Origins

The oldest known depiction of Geb is found in Heliopolis, and is dated to approximately 2600 B.C.E.

Geb was incorporated into the Great Ennead of Heliopolis. Ennead is a Greek term for the number nine, and its meaning relating to Egyptian mythology is “a collection of nine deities”. There were a number of Enneads, or collections of nine deities, created in ancient Egypt at various points of the civilization. The Great Ennead is the most famous of those collections.

The Great Ennead was formed as early as 2600 – 2500 B.C.E. The other eight members of this particular grouping included Atum, Shu, Tefnut, Nut, Osiris, Isis, Seth and Nephthys.

Appearance

In hieroglyphic writings, Geb was usually portrayed in a purely human form. In many of these portrayals, he can be seen covered with plants or vegetation to symbolize fertility in farming. He was sometimes depicted as having green hair or skin, and also at times shown with a goose sitting on top of his head.

He was also shown lying on the ground underneath Nut who was arched high above and covered with stars, or underneath Shu who was between him and Nut.

One example of this is found on the Papyrus of Tentamun, and can be found in other papyrus writings as well. Geb can also at times be found in scenes in a zoomorphic or hybrid form, such as having a snake’s head and human body.

Family

His parents were Tefnut, known as the moisture goddess, and Shu, the god of sunlight, wind and air. Geb also had a twin sister, Nut, who was goddess of the sky.

Geb and Nut produced four offspring – Seth, god of storms and disorder, and OsirisIsis, and Nephthys. At times they were said to have a fifth child, Horus.

According to the Heliopolitan Ennead system, Geb had an important place in the creation story. Some time after he and his sister were born, they began to have a relationship that was incestual. Their father, Shu, was not pleased with them and separated them. Shu held Nut up above his head in the sky, and kept Geb on the earth below him.

In the space between them, Shu created and gave life to nature.1 Even though they were separated, the siblings still had four (or five) children together. Narratives between cities and regions may have differed from this, but many of them had the father Shu holding or supporting Nut and standing on top of Geb.
