Daily Motivator for July 11 – The fact that you can

The fact that you can

Not only are you already highly capable, you are capable of becoming even  more capable. Exercise your capabilities, and nothing is beyond your reach.

When you’ve enjoyed great success you can step forward and create even more.  When you encounter disappointments and obstacles, you can raise your own level  of ability to get beyond them.

The way to make full and increasing use of your capabilities is to have an  authentic reason. True desire will push your effectiveness higher and higher.

Know that you can, know why you must, and you’ll find a way to get it done.  Put your amazing abilities to good use by giving yourself a powerful and  meaningful reason to do so.

Do not agonize over why you can’t. Accept, acknowledge and express with your  actions the fact that you can.

Every situation is your opportunity to put your dynamic capabilities to good  use. Every day is a day in which you can make a real difference in a meaningful  and effective way.

Today’s I Ching Hexagram for July 11 is 32: Endurance

32: Endurance

Hexagram 32

General Meaning:  Endurance is fostered when inner constancy is coupled with external flexibility. Long-distance runners must adapt readily to changing conditions, while maintaining an inner determination and strength of purpose. Two trees growing near each other adapt to enhance each other’s survival. A strong image of durability is a stable marriage of intimate partners striking a dynamic balance between involvement in the outside world and nourishment in the home.

True endurance is not based on rigidity, for endurance implies movement, not immobilization. Only by adapting to change can we stay in the race; but only by deepening our sense of purpose can we develop the fortitude to win it.

Continuity is achieved through movement, not by keeping still. That which has ceased to grow is close to death. Stay active, but allow yourself time to stay in touch with your innermost thoughts and feelings.

Food Can Nourish the Spirit

Food Can Nourish the Spirit

by Sarah Cooke

Today, a friend and I had a conversation about the role that relationships  can play in our enjoyment of food. For example, when I prepare dishes using my  mother’s recipes, the flavor is the same but the experience is often less  fulfilling than enjoying a meal she has prepared for me. Similarly, when I  prepare a meal for my fiancé and myself, I often enjoy the dish more than I do  when I am the only one eating.

It is not only the flavor of a dish or the quality of the ingredients that  contributes to our enjoyment. It is the energy surrounding the food – and the  consumption of it. When a meal is prepared and eaten with love,  it is generally more enjoyable.

Yes, this phenomenon can lead to emotional  eating when we try to recreate the positive memories and feelings associated  with particular foods. But it also has the potential to be quite beneficial.  When we enjoy food on the level of the spirit, we are often more likely to feel  more fulfilled, meaning we consume fewer empty calories than we do when we eat  processed foods, which are less fulfilling. When we eat processed food, we often  must eat more to feel fulfilled. In addition, when we learn to appreciate the  deep, emotional nourishment that food can offer us in a balanced way, we are  likely to choose high quality foods that can offer that kind of sustenance.

Today’s I Ching Hexagram for July 10 is 57: Gentle Penetration

57: Gentle Penetration

Hexagram 57

General Meaning: The general situation here points to subtle penetration. Reeds bend softly in the wind, symbolizing flexibility and endurance, symbolizing quiet, relaxed effectiveness in action. A gentle influence is at work, but just as the wind is ceaseless in its efforts, so too small forces can persist to produce lasting results.

Gentle penetration bodes well for new relationships of all kinds. Just as a summer breeze slowly penetrates the woods to cool the forest, the brilliant ideas of gifted leaders or the sincere feelings of warm-hearted lovers slowly penetrate the minds and hearts of others. In personal relationships, a gentle beginning is often linked to a long-lasting union.

When employing a force that is weak but persistent, careful aim is necessary, for only when a small force continually moves in the same direction can it have much effect. In human affairs, this kind of influence comes more through strength of character than by direct confrontation or seduction. It’s important to have, and stick to, clearly defined goals. Maintaining a strong vision and following a steady course of least resistance often brings good fortune.

Hail to Hel
Queen of Helheim
Wisest of Wights
Keeper of Secrets
Keeper of the hopes for tomorrow
Guardian of Souls
Implacable one of the frozen realm
Half the face of beauty
Half the face of Death.
You who feed the dead
At your meager table
Where everyone gets their fair share,
You who care not
About wealth or status,
About fame or fortune,
Who cares for the peasant
Equally with the ruler,
Teach us that Death is the great leveller
And that we need have no pride
When we reach your halls.
Lady who takes away
Yet holds always promise,
Teach us to praise loss and death
And the passing of all things,
For from this flux
We know your blessings flow.

(Blow out the candles, bow to the altar, and pour out the libation of mead. The roses should be placed outside to rot in the garden.)

July 9 – Daily Feast

July 9 – Daily Feast

When people are secure, they can let someone else have the credit for doing something worthwhile and not complain. Sooner or later, the truth comes out anyway. Life always balances the credit. People have thought many times they were getting something for nothing – but listen, nothing stands for nothing. There is always compensation. Call it what it is. The only thing we don’t pay for is love, real love, which the Cherokee calls a da ge yu di. What we give, we receive. Life is reciprocal, it requires us to do the best we can and to leave judgment and balancing to Him Who works out all things to their perfection.

~ Tell your people….that since we were promised we should never be removed, we have moved five times. ~

Daily Motivator for July 9 – Point the way forward

Point the way forward

Don’t let the worst of life get to you. Instead, let the best of life shine  through you.

Let your attitude be based on your most positive vision rather than on what  may or may not happen. When the world threatens to bring you down, choose to  lift the world up.

Set a positive, purposeful agenda for the day and then follow through with  action. Show all of life how beautiful and meaningful it can be by the way you  live it.

There is enough dismay in the world without you adding to it. Do what is  necessary to add to the joy, love, achievement and fulfillment.

Choose to be aggressively, respectfully and authentically positive. Point the  way forward with your attitude and your actions.

Change life for the better by the way you look at it and by the way you live  it. See the best, be your best, and make your world the best it can be.

Self Purification Spell

Self Purification Spell

Items needed: salt a bowl of bottled spring water or New Moon Water jasmine or lavender incense

Procedure:

Cast a circle, then invoke the elements and the Gods.

Sit quietly and think about what you want to clear out of your aura.  When you are ready, add three good-sized pinches of salt to the water and stir widdershins (counter clockwise). Breathe deep into the bowl and as you do, let your fears and doubts  pour into the water. Breathe them into the salt water where they will dissolve away.

Do this until you feel that the negative energy has passed out of your body.

Hold the bowl into the air and visualize a gold or white light flowing into the water,  transforming the negative vibrations and cleansing them.  Carry the bowl to the sink and flush the water down the sink with cold, running water.  Smudge yourself with either jasmine or lavender incense (or another scent that promotes  peace) and open the circle.

Infusion Purification Spell

Infusion Purification Spell

Collect equal parts (about a handful each) of dried marjoram, bay and rosemary.

Heat a gallon of water until it is almost boiling, remove it from the heat and toss the  herbs into the water. Cover and allow to cool.

Strain the herbs from the water and, using your fingers, sprinkle the infusion throughout the house.

Move in a clockwise direction, visualizing evil and unwarrented influences leaving the area and say something like the following:

I banish evil and negativity; This is my will, So Mote It Be!

Touch the water to the doors and windows, appliances and furniture, outside around the  home and on the surrounding property. Be sure to pour some down the drains as well.  Visualize the water cleansing the whole area.

Well, Guess What? It’s SUNDAY! Happy, Happy Sunday To Ya!

Dragon Comments & Graphics Good Sunday Morning/Afternoon, my dear friends! How are you doing today? I hope well. It has cooled off a little here. I guess that is why I got the wild hair this morning. I have worked my poor fingers to the bones. First I when outside and cleaned out the cages of the wolf and two baby foxes. I scooped poop, put down new hay, watered, fed and a big “NO, NO” played with them. I know I shouldn’t but they are so cute. After playtime, I mean working outside, I came in an started on the house.

You know when you have all your doors and windows open, you can really see the dust, Lordie Help! I drug out the Pledge, the Sniffer and the Glass Cleaner and when to town. I even have one of those things you roll on your furniture to pick up animal air (not like the Sticky Buddy sold on TV at all). Then after I got that done, I put on a big pot of white beans. My plans for supper is white beans and cornbread fritters, Yum! Oh, yeah, we can’t for get the onion. What’s beans without an onion, I mean really? Well after all I have been into this morning, I am running extremely late.So I will wish you a very Blessed and relaxed day and be on my way.

Till next time….

Candles As Tools of Magick

CANDLES AS TOOLS OF MAGICK

Select four candles in colors representing the four elements.  Try using red for

Fire, green for Earth, blue for Water and yellow for Air. Anoint the candles

with oil.  Decide on your goal or request and which candle is best for

represents the need.  (ie money, business, material objects, grounding matters

would be Earth.  Matters of sex, breaking habits, purification, protection,

strength would be Fire.  Matters of love, psychic awareness, healing,

friendships, beauty, spirituality, meditation would be Water.  Matters of

movement, travel, communication, teachings would be Air.)  Place three candles

in a triangle and put the assigned candle in the center.

Meditate on your desire as you light all four candles.  Visualize the outcome,

concentrating carefully on that which you wish to happen. Let all candles burn

go out by themselves.

For best results, do this candle burning during the hour of the day that will

aide you and during the correct Moon phases.  The Waning Moon is good for

banishing, the Waxing will help things grow.

Above all use extreme care when doing ANY form of Magick that entails the use of Fire.

Today’s I Ching Hexagram for July 6th is 6:Conflict

6: Conflict

Hexagram 6

General Meaning:  Conflict arises when a person is convinced that he or she is entitled to something and then meets with opposition. In such cases, the wiser choice is not to push things to the bitter end, because knocking heads only perpetuates bad will. Creative solutions that meet others halfway are more valuable and longer lasting than victories achieved through force.

Conflicts in which one party is not sincere inevitably lead to subterfuge and distortions. In such situations, those of strong character keep a clear head, protect their own integrity and look out for their own interests, even while seeking compromise. Often this means finding a fair-minded mediator who can help settle matters.

In such times of conflict and turmoil, new ventures and new initiatives are to be avoided.

This is a good time to examine the sincerity of your own motives and those around you. Seek advice or arbitration from an impartial and mature advisor. Consider everything carefully before making any major decisions. It may be time to compromise. And try to clarify roles and responsibilities going forward, so as to avoid conflict in the future

Good Monday Morning, My Dear Friends!

Moon & Witch Comments & Graphics Good Monday Morning, my dear friends! I hope your day is off to a great start. I hope most of you are on a long extended vacation. I remember hearing on the News, most people would be off the 4th, 5th & 6th. Boy, a break like that, you won’t never want to go back to work. I know after a long vacation, I use to have to kick myself in the rump to go back. I just stopped to think if I missed going to work, hmm? Consider my family’s auto shop moved 60 miles in the opposite direction of my home, No! At first I enjoyed it. The business was only located 20 miles away from where I live. That was great. I loved going to work. In that type of business, you meet all types of people. It was definitely interesting. Then I don’t know what happened to cause the move. I guess it was a bigger garage and my cousin jumped on it. My hubby and I helped move that greasy, nasty crap, YUCK! I worked at the new office for about 6 months and I decided I had it. My cousin told me he was going to have to decrease my salary. Yeah, right! I guess he thought I was going to work for my health, lol! Anyway, I hit the road and never looked back. So thinking about now, heck no, I don’t miss work, lol!

Well let’s get down to business. I ran across this lovely chant I wanted to share with you this morning. I do not know the author. If anyone does, please contact me and I will credit it. I hope you enjoy it.

Dog Safety Tips for Fourth of July

Dog Safety Tips for Fourth of July

While we might associate the thump and boom of fireworks with festivity and a  great display, many of our canine companions are completely freaked out by  Fourth of July noises. Some dogs cower and shiver, some panic and try to escape  from their homes.

We checked in with the The Humane Society to gather some advice for the  pooches, here’s what they had to offer:

1. Resist the urge to take your pet to fireworks displays.

2. Do not leave your pet in the car. With only hot air to breathe inside a  car, your pet can suffer serious health effects–even death–in a few short  minutes. Partially opened windows do not provide sufficient air, but they do  provide an opportunity for your pet to be stolen.

3.  Keep your pets indoors at home in a sheltered, quiet area. Some animals  can become destructive when frightened, so be sure that you’ve removed any items  that your pet could destroy or that would be harmful to your pet if chewed.  Leave a television or radio playing at normal volume to keep him company while  you’re attending Fourth of July picnics, parades, and other celebrations.

4. If you know that your pet is seriously distressed by loud noises like  thunder, consult with your veterinarian before July 4th for ways to help  alleviate the fear and anxiety he or she will experience during fireworks  displays.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for July 1 – ‘National Blueberry Month’

Happy July — it’s ‘National Blueberry Month!’ According to ancient tradition, the blueberry was considered more than just an antioxidant and anti-aging super food. Long believed to be a Native American fruit, the blueberry was thought to bring an arsenal of personal protection to whoever ate it with that same intention in mind. It is still believed by some to offset the negative energies associated with the ‘evil eye’ and magically enhance our own inner defense systems (when eaten with that specific goal). If you ever feel under attack, these fruity forces can bring that battle to an end. Crush some fresh blueberries, dip a finger into the blue juice, and mark a Star of David on a piece of plain white paper. Keep this talisman in the kitchen, and don’t forget to wash that finger right away!

Today’s I Ching Hexagram for June 27 is 31: Mutual Attraction

31: Mutual Attraction

Hexagram 31

General Meaning: The attraction of yin and yang is the powerful and fundamental force. The image of this hexagram is that of the attraction between a man and a woman in the courtship stage. In response to the magnetic attraction between them, the masculine principle (the creative, outgoing) seizes the initiative and submits to the feminine (the receptive, sensitive). When the assertive is able to defer to the receptive, and when the receptive accepts responsibility and exercises quiet leadership, an exciting and profitable union is the result. This brings good fortune, for all success depends upon the magnetic effect of mutual attraction.

Consistency is important in matters of mutual attraction, for this is what separates courtship from seduction.

If you are by nature an instigator, it is good to take the initiative. But you need to remain sensitive, and highly principled, and avoid the temptation to be manipulative. Let the power of mutual attraction pull you along. If you are the receptive one, keep your mind innocent and free of pride, so that you may remain open to good advice or helpful assistance. When your influence arises from innocence, an even more powerful magnetic force is at work for you.

Remaining open to the forces of attraction brings good fortune. Closing yourself to them heralds the dying of the soul. Learn to yield to the natural tugs and pulls of the heart.

Daily Motivator for June 21 – Don’t worry

Don’t worry about what you must do. Just get going and get it done.

Don’t worry that there’s not enough time. Just make full, purposeful and effective use of the time you have.

Don’t worry that there’s not enough money. Focus instead on the ever-present opportunities to create value.

Don’t worry about what others might say or think or do. Use your time, energy and resources in accordance with your own highest vision.

Don’t worry about what has already happened or what might occur in the future. Now is the moment in which you can act, and now is where your awareness belongs.

This is your beautiful, precious and amazing life, so don’t contaminate any of it with useless worry. Instead, live it fully, richly, peacefully and confidently as each wondrous day unfolds.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for June 21 – ‘World Handshake Day’

On ‘World Handshake Day’ I want to share a way of making sure that anytime anyone asks you ‘how do you do?’ the answer is always ‘perfectly fine!’ The following is an old Russian exercise that will help to lighten up the vibes of your body while shaking off energetic impurities. Lie on your back and lift your arms and your legs so that they are at a 45-degree angle to your body. At the same time, shake your extremities as if you were a dog shaking water from its coat. Inhale deeply, and as you exhale, clench your fists forcefully so that you hands literally vibrate from the tension. Hold this tension until you are finished exhaling. Do this eight to ten times. Not only will your own anger, negativity and emotional overload diminish, but it could conceivably completely disappear! Wash your hands under cold running water as soon as you are done, allowing the water to pour down from the elbows to your hands before drying them. Hands and shaking both leading to a happier, healthier you!
