Depression Healing Ritual

Depression Healing Ritual

Go outside during the daytime and find yourself a large tree.
Oak is the best choice, but any large tree will do.
(Deciduous trees are better than evergreens for some reason; go figure!)
Place the palm of your projective hand (right if right handed,
left if left handed) upon the trunk of the tree and say something like this to the tree:
“Blessed tree, my brother (or sister) of wood, I am in great need of your healing.
I feel hollow inside, as my depression
grips at my very heart. I ask that you aid me, assist me in healing myself of this.
Please assist me to feel strong and solid
inside, assist me in being happy again.”
Now, sit down facing the sun and lean your back against the trunk of the tree.
As you become more relaxed, feel yourself melt into the trunk, becoming one with the tree.
Feel that you have become a branch, full of leafy foliage.
Feel the Sun beat down upon you. Drink in the Light of the Sun God.
Feel His Love fill you, pushing your sadness into the tree.
Fill yourself with the energy of the sun, and allow this to pass through you into the tree as well.
You are now part of the tree; you are the tree.
Feel the overwhelming Wisdom locked into your wood, your leaves.
Feel all that it is to be a tree.
Now, slowly, feel yourself separate from the tree, becoming human again.
Lean forward, and stand. Face the tree, and thank it. If you feel like it, give it a hug!
You and the tree are now one; you are the tree, and the tree is now you.
Love the tree, and care for it. The better the tree is cared for, the happier you will be in the long run!
And become one with the tree as often as you need to by performing the above ritual and enjoy!
If you ever need to move far from the tree, explain this to it, and give it back the woody feeling
inside, and it will give you back the human feeling it has.
When you move, find a new tree. Also, if you can, whoever moves into the place you
were in, if at all possible, ask them to take special care of this tree because it has meaning to you.

Offerings: Give gifts to girl children, especially of time and attention and companionship.
Daily Meal: What the girl children choose, so long as it is within the eating rules of the house.

Invocation to the Sacred Girlchild

March gales April rainbow
Breath indrawn in anticipation
Hair whipping wild
May sunlight June bonfire
Electric passion beneath the ribs
Cat dancer in the coals
March storm April dew
Cool laughter bubbles up inside
Wading in the rushes
May clover June narcissus
Ankle-deep in sun-warmed loam
And the green-scented grasses
She is the boundaries of her own universe
And is She not her own most wonderful creation?
She will grow and change and die
Yet at this moment She does not care.
Maiden, adorn us with flowers.
Teach us to throw snowballs
to topple the defenses of dignity and pride.
Teach us to weep unabashed
And laugh unafraid.
Never let us lose your friendship
Lest we be lost to ourselves.

(All join hands including those girl children who wish it, and dance in a circle.)

Special Kitty Of The Day for Feb. 24th

Nikkita, the Cat of the Day
Name: Nikkita
Age: Seven years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Moggie
Home: New Zealand
This is my beautiful Nikkita, one of the sweetest natured kitties you could ever get, I rescued her and her mother Ellie-Mae coming up seven years ago this year, from their owner who neglected them both and let them continually have kittens, sadly I lost Ellie just a few weeks ago to cancer, but I am so fortunate to have her baby, my sweet girl Nikkita.

Nikkita loves to snuggle under any blanket she can find, I often go to make the beds and get quite a surprise because Nikkita will have snuggled under the duvet, and you cannot even notice her there, and a favorite is hopping in to boxes. She also loves being brushed, you just have to say “come on and get a brushing” and she will run over to the cupboard where I keep her brush.

We often nick name her Squeakitta, as she has more of a squeak than a miaow. She has a ton of purssonality, and on her terms can be quite cuddly. She loves to play, and loves belly rubs. She has become a bit of a Daddy’s girl, which is so sweet as he simply adores her back.

We all reside in a little piece of paradise called Aotearoa, more commonly know as New Zealand. Nikki is of no particular breed, we down under refer to her as a moggie, and age is unknown, but at least seven years of age. She had a health scare recently, but is fine now. We think it was part of her mourning her mom, Ellie, and are glad she is still with us!

Water Magick – Potions, Brews & Elixirs

Potions, Brews & Elixirs

Potions brews and elixirs are all essentially the same thing, with a few small differences. Potions are made from liquid ingredients or worked into a liquid base. Elixirs usually have crystals added to the liquid for extra power. Brews usually require some sort of heating process. (Soup and tea are both brews.)

Blessed Monday, my dear friends!

Monday Pictures, Images, Comments, Graphics
Good Monday to you all! I hope you are having a great day. My granddaughter is having a birthday party this afternoon. I have been up since 3 a.m. I am sure I will be given out by the time the party starts. I have already did a full day’s work. Of course, there is no rest for the wicked, lol! Anyway, please forgive me if I fly through the postings today.

I hope you all having a fantastic day. And remember only 4 more days to the weekend, lol!

“Late February, and the air’s so balmy snowdrops and crocuses might be fooled into early blooming. Then, the inevitable blizzard will come, blighting our harbingers of spring, and the numbed yards will go back undercover. In Florida, it’s strawberry season— shortcake, waffles, berries and cream will be penciled on the coffeeshop menus.”

Special Kitty of the Day for Jan. 30

Oreo, the Cat of the Day
Name: Oreo
Age: Eight years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Cat
Home: Nova Scotia, Canada
This is Oreo. She spends most of her time in cubby holes and sunny windows. She disappeared for over six months and came back to us very skinny. Now her belly hangs off windowsills, like she is making up for lost time. We are working on helping her lose weight. She loves meeting new people and playing with their feet… so we have to warn visitors about that so she doesn’t get stepped on! The only trick she knows is how to convince someone to give her more food when she just ate, which works particularly well with visitors. She’s loyal, as far as cats go, and thinks she’s my guard cat. However she is easy to petted into submission and loves her chest and belly scratched.

PROTECTION, The Five Pebbles

PROTECTION, The Five Pebbles

Go to a moving brook or stream. While standing in the water and facing downstream, remove five small pebbles from the stream bed As you do this, visualize your need for protection.

As your hand closes over the pebbles, see them beaming out protective energies. Just as the pebbles are hard and have weathered for eons, so too will they strengthen your protective shield.

Now carry them at all times for protection. If you wish, place them in a small pouch or a fold of cloth, or incorporate them into some form of jewelry.

The Best Gift of All

The Best Gift of All

  • Selected from Owning Pink

During one of her shows a few years back, Oprah Winfrey made a profound and beautiful statement that I appreciated very much. She said, “We do shows about lots of ‘stuff’ and my ‘favorite things,’ but what people want more than anything else is to know that they’re appreciated. . . that’s the best gift of all.”

At this time of year it’s easy for us to get caught up in the stress of getting everything on our list crossed off, preparing for parties and events, and rushing around to buy last minute gifts. And, if money is tight, there can added stress when thinking about what gifts to get for family members, friends, co-workers, and others.

Instead of just giving “stuff” for the holidays this year, what if we gave the people in our life the most meaningful gift of all; our appreciation? Let the people around you know what you appreciate about them and why.

What do you value most about your best friend? What is it about your kids that you really appreciate? What do you love best about your spouse? How does your co-worker or your boss make your job and life easier and more fun?

Expressing our heartfelt and genuine appreciation for the important people in our life is magical and it’s essential to our ability to create happiness, fulfillment, loving relationships, healthy families, successful teams, and productive communities. Appreciation is also an important element of effectively dealing with the stress of challenges and uncertainty that so many of us are facing these days.

This year, our holiday gifts can be expressions of true appreciation which will have real impact on our relationships and make our holiday season one to remember. Here are three simple suggestions to make your holiday gifts and your holiday season special and meaningful:

  1. Write cards of gratitude. In addition to (or instead of) giving actual presents, take time to write heartfelt thank you cards letting the people around you know what you appreciate about them and how they have impacted your life this year in a positive way. Express your appreciation genuinely, specifically, and personally – in a heartfelt way.
  2. Ask people what they really want. Giving something specific that someone really wants will have them feel appreciated and valued. It doesn’t have to be expensive, as long as it’s personal to them. And, if you ask them directly you may find out that what they really want is something simple that can’t be bought or doesn’t cost money.
  3. Give the gift of your time or service. Make a list of a few important people in your life and instead of buying them something, call and ask each them if there is some project they’ve been putting off or procrastinating that you might be able to help them with. Schedule time to come over to their house or support them specifically in getting that task or project accomplished.

Remember what most people want, more than almost anything else, is to know that they are loved, valued, and appreciated. Appreciation truly is the best gift we can give to the people in our lives (for the holidays and at any time of the year).

Well I would say “Happy, Happy Tuesday” but it real wasn’t……..

Funny & Naughty Comments & Graphics
Good morning, afternoon, night???? If I don’t write quickly it will be Wednesday in about 30 minutes, lol! Well I didn’t run off, I just had some things I had to do and they took all day.

First off, my husband’s work truck has needed low beam highlights for I don’t know how long. He got on his high horse Monday, “you’ve got to call and get them fixed, you’ve got too!” Well I called yesterday and found a place out here in the sticks that could fix them either yesterday or today. Yesterday it poured down rain and it was so dreary, I didn’t want to mess with it. So this morning when I got up, five minutes later, here he came, “you going to get the truck fixed today?” The more I thought about it, the angrier I got. His truck and he can’t take it and get it fixed. To keep the peace, I said I would take it and get it fixed. I think he wants me to take it because I was practically born in a garage and he figures we won’t get screwed. Well me and Kiki loaded up in the truck and off we went. The regular place I take the place and get all the work done on the truck was closed. So I found this new place to get the work done. Well I pulled up in front of it and liked to have died. The garage looked like my cousin’s garage before I went to work there. Dirty, nasty, awful, I think that pretty well describes it. We walked in the office area and I swear I thought I had walked into the twilight zone. The mechanic was eating lunch, so we sit down and had a nice long chat. I made the mistake of telling him I use to run the office at a garage. We got to talking about timing chains, timing belts, motors, starters, transmissions and every other car part there is. What should have taken 30 minutes turned into two hours. Poor little Kiki was given out. She curled up in a chair and finally went to sleep. I found out the garage hasn’t been that busy recently and I guess they were just happy to have someone to talk too. I know when I got ready to leave he offered me a job. I just sort of laughed and said I had retired. I done been through that mess of taking a junkyard and turning it into a decent business. No thank you, never again!

Next, I had to drive 50 miles to go get my prescriptions. Our insurance has recently changed and I was in for a fantastic surprise when I pulled up. I owed more than triple what I usually pay. Then there was one prescription that the insurance company decided I didn’t need to take the way the doctor had ordered me to take it. Then there was another, why heck fire I didn’t even need that one! I was dumbfounded to say the least. Since when does an insurance company know how to doctor a person. What is the world coming too? Needless to say, I put that insurance company on my to do list when I got home.

Then when I finally got home, calmed down and ate, I decided I wanted to get on the internet. Well to put an end to such a wonderful day, the internet was down. They were putting in new wiring. When we had the ice storm a few years ago, all the above ground lines snapped. So all the utilities have been trying to run everything underground now. Today just happened to be my lucky day, they were running the line underground. So I said the heck with it and sit down and fumed.

But all in all, it was a very lovely day, not! It was drizzling rain and my ears are killing me and my throat is swelled up and killing me. In other words, I will be back at the doctor’s office to get an antibiotic for this crap. Which mean, I will have another fight with the insurance company because they probably won’t pay for crap. It is wonderful how this little mouse maze we call life runs.

But I wanted to let you know that I haven’t run off. I just took a leisurely day off, lmao! I would have much rather been home, in my nice warm house, rain-free, playing on the internet. I can’t think of any adventures I have to do Wednesday, so things will get back to normal.

So please forgive me for not doing the daily posts as I was out having a ball, lol! I will see you Wednesday!

Have a great night and sweet dreams,

Lady A

Earth Science Pic of the Day

Fiery Sunrise

Fierysunrise

Photographer: Mitch Englebrecht
Summary Author: Mitch Englebrecht; Jim Foster

The photo above showing a fiery sunup was captured near Colorado Springs, Colorado in late winter of 2008. Neither telephone poles nor wires could detract from this glowing dawn. The increased path-length of sunlight when the Sun is near the horizon, in the presence of mid and high altitude clouds, accounts for the vivid coloration of many sunrises and sunsets, including this one.

Sweet, Adorable Kitty of the Day for Sept. 20th

Zephyrus, the Cat of the Day
Name: Zephyrus
Age: Five years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Cat
Home: Waynesville, North Carolina, USA
Zephyrus lives at his very own bed and breakfast inn in the mountains of North Carolina, Iris Meadows Bed and Breakfast in Waynesville, which he adopted four and a half years ago. He is in charge of the gardens, mostly, where he plays and dozes and poses for guest photos. He often romps with his sister dog in the meadows. He spends his relaxing moments in the private innkeepers’ quarters as he is not allowed in guest areas because guests may have allergies or prefer not to have pets. That is also where he sleeps. Zephyrus was a very thin and hungry cat when he arrived. We first saw him nibbling on the leftover muffins and waffles that we toss into a far meadow for the birds. Gradually, he decided to stay.He also answers to “Zephy” and to “Mr. Z.” Yes, he has become quite a fixture here. He is very friendly with everyone now and playfully entertains everyone with his antics. He and our dog are great friends. He loves to ride so we advise guests to check for him in their car before departing. He keeps me company when I work in the gardens… he acts as if it is his job to scare off all the spiders and crawly critters for me. There is a particular guest he really likes, and he once brought her a live mouse… he kept placing his paw on its tail and releasing it in front of her so she would notice her “gift.”

This picture of him “Watching for Butterflies” won first place in our local animal rescue organization’s annual photo contest several years ago. His heart shaped tag reads “I have humans at the Inn at Iris Meadows”

Elemental Workspace Charm

Elemental Workspace Charm

To begin this elemental spell, sprinkle a pinch of salt around the workspace to represent the Earth. Then take a cup of water and sprinkle a tiny bit around the area as well—for, you guessed it, the blessings of the water element. Visualize the heating or cooling in the room as conduits to the element of Air, and the lights of the sun streaming in the windows as a representation of Fire. When you are ready, repeat the charm.

Elements four, gather ’round this workspace of mine

Inspiration and comfort you bring at all times.

Bring passion and commitment to the work that I do.

Circle about me now with magick so strong and true.
Close this spell with these lines:

By the strength of hearth and home, this spell is spun,

As I will, so mote it be and let it harm none.

Tarpon and Silversides, Grand Cayman

Photograph by Mike Sutton Brown,

The picture was taken at Eden Rock, Grand Cayman. For just a short time every year these silversides swarm caves and swim-throughs at Cayman’s dive sites. The picture was taken late afternoon just as the sun was going down. I was hiding behind the silversides, low in the rocks. As the tarpon swam through the silversides, they eventually saw me and turned away. Just like you see in the picture

Feng Shui Tip of the Day for August 12th – Use the Command Position

The “Command Position” simply means placing furniture so that you have a clear view of main doorway into a given space. Having a solid wall behind you for support and pushing the furniture to the side of the main ch’i pathway add to the effectiveness. This usually is diagonally across from the door. If you can’t rearrange furniture into the command position for one reason or another, place a mirror in such a way that you will be able to see the doorway in it’s reflection. If your having trouble sleeping, putting your bed in the command position could be the answer. Try it out!

Meditation to Meet Your Fire Guide

Meditation to Meet Your Fire Guide

Create a simple altar with an orange cloth and a red candle. Use an amber- or wood-scented incense. Take several deep, cleansing breaths. Get comfortable. Focus on your breathing and close your eyes. Visualize the gateway to the elemental realm of fire. Make the gate as strong and elaborate as you wish. How does it open? Take several slow, deep breaths. See the gate open and walk through it. Everything is dark. Before you is a pathway illuminated with candles on each side. It is a broad, safe pathway. Begin to walk down it. Slowly stars become visible in the dark sky. Take a moment to appreciate the twinkling lights. Focus on the candle flames and note that no two candles are exactly alike. They dance in various colors on the tips of the candles. You feel warm, safe and happy. Focus on your breath. Further on down the path you see your elemental guide for the realm of fire. Approach him slowly and greet him warmly. Listen to what he has to say. When you have heard all you wish, thank him and then turn to go back up the path. As your approach the gateway you notice it is still open. Walk through it. Take several slow deep breaths and then open your eyes. Write down all you learned in your journal. Close your personal circle.
