I picked this picture today because I have been having a discussion with someone of a different skin color than myself about racism and prejudices. I personally am not a racist or prejudicial person if I was I could not walk the walk or talk the talk I do on a daily basis. I personally feel that the only way to stop this type of thinking and behavior id to show others through my life that not every one of a different color or religion or sexual orientation or whatever other prejudice the person may carry in their mind is true. There are good and horrible people in every color, every nationality, every religion, every sexual orientation, ectara.

Please always remember that know matter who you are, where you come from, what life has shown you that you are GOOD ENOUGH to be treated with respect and dignity always!

Welcome to WOTC! A Thought for Today and Some Other Information

I am still working on clean up of WOTC website but wanted to do a full day of regular posts for you all because I have not done this for a while. Some of the information on the regular posts are being offered differently to make sure of no copyright infringements occur and all websites I use to gather information are correctly given credit.

I was recently asked why I ask for monetary donations for doing spells or rituals or clearing or animal spirit guide readings. I spend hours a day working either behind the scenes and/or posting just to spread the truth about Witchcraft and bring information to all traditions of paganism/witchcraft and never expect a donation for this work unless someone is kind enough to give me one. Yes I did ask for donations in years gone by to help me out I no longer to do so as my husband now has a job that can cover all our living expenses and I can do this website for enjoyment and knowledge. When it comes to doing spells, rituals, clearings, and spirit animal readings I feel my time and items needs for the spell or ritual is more business like and worth me making a little money from. If you check out other witch websites that charge for different things my prices are way below theirs. I do not want to charge the high amounts as I feel my abilities should be in a price range available to anyone. Some of you may disagree with me for charging anything for services I advertise through WOTC but it is not a directly related to the posts I do. I hope this clarifies why I charge for spells, rituals, clearings and readings.

Welcome to WOTC! A Thought for Today

Due to some changes in copyright infringement laws you will see some post disappear until I get the authors/websites permission to use their content on her. In some posts you will only see a link back to the website to read the information where that is the only information I have to use their content on WOTC. I do not want to put this website left in my hands by Lady of the Abyss be pulled because of copyright infringement nor can I afford a court case for it. You will see, especially in the informational posts only a paragraph or two and than the link to finish read them. Some of the regular posts will also be changing on how much information is given before having to go to the original website that has the information. The beginning of the month birthstone, flower, and other information missing as of now but I will be writing my own post on that information starting with September, I will also be making changes to the other monthly information.

I hope you understand why I have to do this. I will make every attempt to still bring you quality information on all the topic first Lady Abyss posted about and for the last ten years I have been bring to you. Please be patient with me as I do the major overall on WOTC I will be working on this as much as I have time to daily. There will not be as many informational posts while I am doing this.

(One Person’s View) The Runes and The Elemental Links

Most people with even a smattering of knowledge of astrology will be aware of the elements of earth,
air, fire and water, and that three zodiac signs fit into each element. It should come as no surprise,
therefore, to learn that a rune also corresponds to each element.

What follows here are the most widely accepted linkages between the elements and four of the runes.
Also given are other runes which are said to link in with the element being discussed.

Earth

The element of earth is concerned with solid foundations, and with keeping in touch with reality. It
may be interesting to learn that Eihwaz, an earth rune, is sometimes called ‘the Rune of Death’ because
of the poisonous qualities of the yew tree with which it is associated.

Also associated with the earth element are Uruz, Wunjo, Berkana, Othila, Isa (which can also link
with the water element, ice being frozen water) and Jera. Isa, Eihwaz and Jera are also said to link
with the New Moon.

Water

Kaunaz is, surprisingly, a water rune. It relates to bonfires, but does not equate to the element of fire.
To the Vikings, bonfires were a physical light in the darkness, as well as symbolising inner knowledge
or enlightenment. It relates to emotions and intuition, and therefore its element is water. Some
runemasters will disagree here, preferring to keep Kaunaz with its symbol of fire.

Also associated with the water element are Perth, Lagu, Ing, Raido and Gebo. Hagalaz has
connections with ice, and so also correctly belongs with this element. Kaunaz, Raido and Gebo are
said to link with the waning of the moon. Gebo and Raido also link with the element of air.

Air

Ansuz, an air rune has a strong connection with Odin, who was considered to have discovered the
runes in the root of the Tree of the World, and as such has a link with the ash tree. He was also
considered to be the source of knowledge and inspiration and it therefore follows that Odin should be
described as the source of language, and the runes as a form of communication.

Ansuz relates to the element of air, to divine breath, to thought and to the power of the intellect.
Also associated with the element of air are Teiwaz, Berkana (which also links to earth having a
duality in element) and Ehwaz, which also link with the waxing of the moon. Algiz is also said to link
with the air element, as do Sowelu and Mannaz.

It should be noted that some runemasters suggest that Ansuz is more correctly linked with fire and
water rather than air.

Fire

Dagaz is a fire rune, and represents day, breakthrough. It is associated, too, with the dawn of the
world, since the earth was born in flames. Dagaz is considered to be the illuminator, the light, and as
such cannot be destroyed. It is the guardian by the doorway, a protective force against anything
harmful. Dagaz is another case of elemental duality, associated both with fire and air.

Also associated with the element of fire are Othila and Fehu, which also link with the full moon, and
with the element of earth – again, being dual in elemental nature. Thurisaz, Nauthiz and Eihwaz are
also said to link with fire, but it is worth noting that many runemasters consider Eihwaz as belonging

Spell For Tomorrow – Spirit Guide Divination Ritual

Spirit Guide Divination Ritual

Strengthen your connection with spirit guides to receive supernatural counsel. Use this spell before important decisions.

Items needed:

  • Candles
  • Clear quartz crystal
  • Mugwort, lavender or bay leaf

How to cast:

  1. Brew mugwort/lavender/bay leaf tea to enhance psychic awareness. Drink it.
  2. Hold clear quartz to activate your third eye. Visualize spirit guide greeting you.
  3. Relax and meditate on your issue. Repeat question in mind.
  4. Pay attention to any mental nudges, sensations or ideas you receive.

What to expect:

  • Stronger sensing of guidance through intuition, inner voice nudges, or mental impressions.
  • Heightened awareness of signs, synchronicities and symbols around you related to your question.
  • A deep inner “knowing” arising about what path is best. Feelings of alignment.
  • Growing connection to your spirit guides for regular divination and discernment.

Each day I choose one thing I want to get accomplished at home. I break it down into smaller steps. That I can rest in between the steps if I need to. It can be anything from dusting or vacuuming or doing dishes (we don’t have a dishwasher except our hands lol) or do 1 to 3 loads of laundry or cut the grass or another outside chore.

An example of 1 thing I do outside, we have a smidgen under ¼ acre which requires a steady up keep. What I want tp accomplish weed whacking around the entire house and along the back fence. Step 1) get headphones and cellphone completely – get water/vitamin water mix with ice into my large travel mug. Steps 2) gather travel mug, cellphone headphones, smokes and lighter take outside. Step 3) get extension cords and weed whacked outside and ready to use. Step 4) Take lawn out and put in the shade. Place cellphone, smokes, lighter on it and travel mug next to it. BREAK TIME until ready to start working than take a break every 15-30 minutes depending on when I feel like it. Step 5) Weed Whack. Stay hydrated! Step 6) reverse Steps 1 through 3. Sit and enjoy my accomplish, enjoy the quite and listen to the birds, watch the butterflies and dragonflies or whatever other wildlife is around until I  feel like going back inside.

This is just 1 of many things I now break down inside and outside “honey do list”. I have found with having more than one chronic pain problem that doing things (even on days I don’t want to get dress) planning only 1 thing to do each day is much gentler that trying to get a bunch of things done in a day that I  don’t ache as much and my pain level doesn’t usually go up to a point I can barely handle it even with prescription pain meds. Also I sleep better and so have less brain fog the next day.

This has also taught me to get up and move around some when working on my computer. I alway make sure to take every 3rd day off from chores to give my muscles and joints a break. If I take more days off in between…oh well the chore won’t run away or complaining. Just as I tell all of you “Your health – physically or mentally or emotionally or any combination of these always has to come 1st or you won’t be able to help yourself or anyone else.”

Spell For Sunday – An Evaluation/Promotion Tarot Spell

An Evaluation/Promotion Tarot Spell

Got an evaluation coming up at work? There is nothing worse than having to go over a review form. You know you deserve a good raise, but how much will your manager or the company be willing to dole out? Or are you trying for a promotion? Sounds like it’s time to hedge your bets, so to speak. Try your hand at this tarot spell.

Gather the following:

• A carnelian tumbled stone for success and to boost your career or a quartz crystal point for extra power
• 1 yellow or gold candle (white will do in a pinch-it’s an all-purpose color)
• Three tarot cards: the Ace of Wands, the Sun, and the Chariot
• An item in sympathy with the spell that you are casting

You can also add the health, wealth, and success philter to this spell if you wish. Just anoint the spell candle with the solar-powered oil you have created.

What exactly is an item of sympathy? It is any item that is sympathetic to what you are working for. Since this is a job-related spell, an item in sympathy could be your recent paycheck stub, ID badge, or your business card. So, with that thought in mind, adding this sympathetic item to your other correspondences only helps to unify the magick. It does this by uniting the energies and giving you something very specific to focus on.

Arrange your items in front of the candle. If you wish, anoint the spell candle with the philter. Now, light the spell candle and focus on the cards and your item of sympathy, pathy, and then repeat the spell below three times. Check out the last line of the spell and adjust this as necessary.

Just like the golden child who rides under the sun
I call for recognition of a job well done
This spell candle illuminates my way
Bring success and wealth to all my days
Goddess, bless my ambitions, they are fair and true
While this higher career goal/promotion I do now pursue.

Close the spell by saying:

For the good of all, with harm to none
By the sun and stars, this spell is done.

Let the candle burn until it goes out on its own. Keep the carnelian in your pocket or purse, and the cards and your item of sympathy together and on your person for one week, until the following Sunday.
