Make magic Apple Dolls Gifts of the Harvest can be used to make tools and emblems that will remind us of their bounty all year round. Look for colored leaves. Collect fallen leaves and make a centerpiece or bouquet for your home. Save the leaves to burn in your Yule fire. Vist an apple orchard and, if possible, pick your own apples. Hang apples on a tree near your home. Watch the birds and other small animals who will enjoy your gift. This is also the time for replacing your old broom with a new one. As the broom corn is ripe now, besom making is traditional and magickal this time of year. Begin the festival with a vineyard or orchard harvest. You might check the farm lands in your area to see if there’s an orchard or pumpkin patch that allows customers to harvest produce for themselves. Traditionally Sabbat festivals begin at sun set on the eve of the Holiday. You can use the daytime hours of this holiday eve to prepare baskets for harvesting the next day. Baking a pumpkin pie (from scratch if possible) is a wonderful way to bring in the fragrance of the holiday season

The New Moon in Aries of March 2023 Is Bursting With Lucky and Motivating Energy—Here’s How to Use It

From stylecaster.com

Since the moon rules over your emotions and inner world, the new moon in Aries of March 2023 will take you along for a wild and unforgettable ride. How you start this adventure is entirely up to you, and the decisions you make now could have ramifications that ripple over the next few months.

Although the new moon is nowhere to be seen, it’s doing a lot of work behind the scenes. It’s during this phase of the 28-day lunar cycle that the moon disappears from the sky and retreats beneath the curtain of night, where it can renew itself before embarking on the next journey.

Taking place on March 21 at 1:23 p.m. ET, this new moon takes place just one day after the sun enters Aries and launches the beginning of spring. Not only does this mean flowers are blooming and the days are lengthening, but it also means we’re all turning the page and embracing a new astrological calendar. That’s right—the real “New Year” doesn’t take place until March 20, because astrology follows the lunar calendar, not the 365-day Gregorian calendar that we’ve all come to know and follow.

That makes this particular new moon incredibly special. Not only are there several numerological coincidences surrounding this new moon and adding to its fatefulness, but this also represents a galvanizing and rejuvenating shift in our social and spiritual energy. If you’ve been feeling extra sleepy as the sun wraps up its tour through dreamy and divine Pisces, now’s the time to wake up and smell the coffee. The new moon in Aries has arrived and it’s rebooting your system and kickstarting a new chapter in your life. Here’s what you need to know:

The New Moon in Aries of March 2023, Explained

This new moon takes place in courageous, competitive and compassionate Aries, landing at exactly 0 degrees and emphasizing just now much of a new beginning this really is. Forget what happened yesterday, because the future is yours to create! In astrology, degree 0 indicates the most pure and distilled expression of the zodiac sign in question. And because this new moon rises in Aries—the first sign in the zodiac—you can expect this new moon to reveal clues as to what the future might hold. After all, whatever you start now will manifest over the course of the next six months, reaching a conclusion by the full moon in Aries, which takes place on September 29. This new moon also rises at 1:23, which is a very good sign in numerology and indicates that we are embracing an upward climb.

The new moon in Aries takes place on March 21 at 1:23 p.m. ET.

Because this new moon takes place in Aries, the planet ruling over this new moon is Mars in Gemini. In astrology, Mars is the planet of power, motivation, ambition sexuality, passion, aggression and of course, conflict. Because this new moon is also squaring off with Mars, this lunation is jam-packed with potent energy that’s ready to burst. Sometimes, things begin soft and subtle, gradually introducing you to this new era. Sometimes, things begin with a bang, shocking you out of your stupor and forcing you to get with the program immediately. And although things will start to move *very* fast, this new moon will remind you that you are more than capable of not just keeping up with the pace, but facilitating it.

Witchcraft Symbols, Terms and Definitions – Rabbit

Rabbits

What Do Rabbits Symbolize? Rabbit Symbolism Meaning from rabbitcaretips.com

Rabbits are one of the most popular pets. However, rabbits have been a part of lives, cultures, and religious practices for much longer than they have been considered pets. Historically speaking, rabbits hold a great deal of symbolic meaning. This can guide dreams, art, and even traditional dress.

Rabbits almost always symbolize prosperity, abundance, good luck, and fertility. Unlike many other animals, which have different meanings in different cultures, rabbit symbolism is consistent. In most European cultures, rabbits are springtime animals, symbolic of fruitfulness and renewal. The connection between rabbits and spring is also found in Japanese culture. In the U.S., rabbits are symbolic of cleverness, devotion to self-improvement, and good luck.

There are some cultures that see rabbits differently, however. While rabbits are the luckiest of the Zodiac animals in China, they are primarily seen as trickster animals by Native American cultures. Furthermore, while many Central American peoples see rabbits as symbols of fertility, Aztec mythology associates rabbits with drunkenness and promiscuity.

Some of the Witchcraft/Magickal Correspondence for Ostara – Printable

Ostara – Let there be Light

From sagegoddess.com

Ostara & The Spring Equinox

Spring draws near, and with the vernal equinox comes Ostara, the goddess and patron deity of spring. She comes with her totem spirit, Rabbit, to bring renewal to the land. Our time for rest and retreat is reaching an end, as we now prepare to give life to the ideas we’ve been cultivating inside all winter. We also recognize and give thanks for the solitude, self-reflection, and wisdom the dark time of dreaming brought us.

The vernal equinox marks the time of year when the Sun crosses the equator, making the length of day equal to the length of night. This day is one of only two magical times of the year where night and day are precisely balanced – the Wheel of the Year is symbolically sliced in half. It’s time to burn what no longer serves you and activate your spirit, so you may blossom with the spring and emerge as your most enlightened self.

History of Ostara & Spring Traditions

The native pre-Christian Germanic tribes of northern Europe worshipped a goddess of spring called Ostara. The Saxon tribes of old Britain called her Eostre, and she is known for giving her name to the Christian Easter. Her feast day was held on the full moon following the vernal equinox, much like the modern Easter. Ostara is the goddess of the dawn and awakening earth. She embodies growing light and fertility.

Eggs are sacred to Ostara, symbolizing the renewed cycle of life and staple source of food. Chickens kept in natural light quit laying in winter, resuming in the spring with peak months March and April. In Western tradition, we’re all familiar with “Easter eggs,” which date back to ancient times, as a symbol of fertility and rebirth. In Persia, eggs have been painted and colored for over fifteen-hundred years as part of the spring celebration of Nowruz, the Persian and Iranian New Year.

All around the world, ancient and indigenous cultures hold rituals, feasts, and celebrations at the vernal equinox. Ancient Roman followers of the goddess Cybele believed she had a consort who died and was resurrected on this day. The ancient Mayans honored many sacred days associated with celestial events, especially the equinoxes. As the Sun sets on the day of the equinox, the western face of the Mayan pyramid El Castillo is fully bathed in sunlight. This pyramid was intentionally designed to work with the lengthening shadows, giving the appearance of a diamondback snake descending down the wall.

Intentions of Light

Our roots to the Earth and our connection to her seasons go deep. Our ancient ancestors knew this and honored the cycles of nature. When you celebrate the equinoxes, you timelessly connect with our ancestors who have participated in ritual and ceremony on this occasion for millennia. This year, in the Northern Hemisphere, we’ll celebrate Ostara on March 19. Use this day to cleanse, heal, balance your spirit, and regenerate your vital energy. This is the time to activate spring’s energy of light, hope, fertility, growth, and new beginnings with the return of the Sun.

Light a candle to symbolize the return of the light, and set your intentions for new beginnings and renewed passion. This is another chance to re-emerge with new vision, new commitment, and newfound wings. Create an Ostara altar – read my blog on this topic for more info. Charge your gems under the Sun, in the light of the equinox, to infuse them with the fiery spark of life and rebirth. Ask them to generously hold the power of the Sun’s radiance, making it readily available to you as the Wheel of the Year continues to turn. This ritual is especially powerful at noon when the Sun is at its highest point in the sky, and at the first moment of spring (when the Sun moves into the sign of Aries), which varies by geographic location. This year, in Los Angeles, the exact time is 8:49 pm PT on Thursday, March 19.

At this potent point of transition into the days of light, take a moment to pause during the brief balance between light and dark; day and night. May it reconnect you with your own harmony and wholeness, in perfect proportion.

Ostara Blessing

Speak, Ostara, of hope and growth – your gifts to us.
Teach me the ways of light
and reveal the path of illumination
as I prepare to transcend.
Shedding my cold winter skin,
I activate my sanctity,
burning away what no longer serves me.
I emerge from my hibernation,
awaken my dormant energy,
and blossom with the spring.
Amen, A’ho, So it is.
