All Signs

Every year, the Sun moves through all 12 signs staying for four weeks in each sign. We are now entering that four-week window when the Sun will radiate Gemini energy, making everyone more curious about everything going on around them. We’ll want to take short trips and explore the world. We will have an increased desire to pop out for coffee, grab a magazine and catch up on the latest with friends and neighbours. Many will sign up for a course or explore ways to learn something new. I love Geminis! They’re free spirited, fun-loving and have the courage to fry bacon naked.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Because you’re the “first” sign of the zodiac, there’s something about spring that really boosts your energy. If you thought you were busy and energetic before – get ready because in the next month, you’re pulling out all stops. Suddenly, you’ve got things to do, places to go and people to see! You want to take short trips. You want to learn new things and meet new people. You’re busy! You also want to entertain and redecorate at home. In addition, you feel competitive especially with group sports and kids’ activities. Meanwhile, while you juggle all this, you’re full of moneymaking ideas — and getting richer. Ka-ching!

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

This is a lovely time for you because lucky Jupiter is in your sign for the next 12 months, bringing you good fortune and giving you an edge over all the other signs. This is a major blessing! Meanwhile, for the next four weeks, the Sun will sit in one of your Money Houses, prompting you to think about cash flow, earnings and your wealth in general. It is occurring to you now that you want to make your money work for you. Not only that, you want to make what you own work for you as well. Well, of course. This makes sense: what you own should make your life easier and not the other way around. Right? How’s that working out for you?

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Once a year, the Sun is in your sign for four weeks and that time has arrived. This brings you many benefits and one of them is that it’s your chance to rejuvenate and replenish yourself. The Sun in your sign will also attracts favourable situations and interesting people to you. Because fiery Mars is in your House of Communications, you identify more with your ideas. But you might be a tad stubborn this week. You might also be argumentative, which is generally not the best way to get what you want. Meanwhile, you will attract money, goods and favours to you, which encourages you to buy beautiful things for yourself and loved ones. One thing is certain: Now you clearly see what is working and what is not.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

For the next four weeks, contradictory influences might affect you. On one hand, you’re happy to be reclusive and enjoy time by yourself or to work alone. On the other hand, (you have different rings), with Venus in your sign, you are charming, diplomatic and eager to schmooze with others. Both Mercury and Jupiter in your House of Friendships will promote interacting with friends and groups, particularly younger people. Meanwhile, Mars makes you identify with your possessions. Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Because your desire to travel and explore more of the world is pumped in the next four weeks, please look for ways to change your daily routine or travel. You need a change of scenery! If you can’t travel, be a tourist in your own town. Expand your world through books, film, or documentaries plus talking to people from other countries and different cultures. Your interest in philosophy, religion, belief systems, politics and the law will be strong. (Actually, some of you might be more involved with the law.) This is a special time for you because your ruler Venus is at the top of your chart attracting people to you, especially related to your career. Romance with a boss or mentor figure might begin.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

You are a passionate sign, and in the next four weeks, your passion will intensify. Perhaps you will encounter someone who encourages powerful changes in your life? Or some psychological self-inquiry? Personally, you have a stronger than usual desire to experience life at feeling level not just an abstract, intellectual understanding. You will also be more involved with bills, taxes, debt, shared property and inheritances. Plus, your ambition is aroused because Mars is at the top of your chart. Meanwhile, your desire to travel for pleasure and escape “from all this” is strong! By all means, travel if you can because you will love it.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Once a year, for four weeks, the Sun sits opposite your sign, which means symbolically – it is as far away from your sign as it can get all year. Because the Sun represents “energy”, this means you’ll be more tired and will need more sleep. (Go to bed.) This polarized position of the Sun will also give you more objectivity about your closest relationships, which is an opportunity to see how to improve you initiate to others, or react in these relationships. This will make you appreciate your loved ones. In fact, this is a romantic time for your sign. Romantic and sexy! Grab opportunities to play and perhaps figure out how to swing a vacation!

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Ta da! Once a year, the Sun is in the most playful part of your chart for four weeks and this time has arrived! Do what you want and set your own priorities! Fun activities with children will appeal along with sports events. This is a wonderful time for a vacation and romance. Socialize! Accept invitations! Enjoy the arts, social outings, picnics, barbecues, short trips and above all — the theatre, galleries and opportunities to enjoy musical performances and fun times with others. A work-related romance might begin for some. Admittedly, with Mars opposite your sign, you have to be patient with partners and close friends, but this will be easy because you’re happy!

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Home, family and your private life will be your primary focus in the next four weeks. Many of you will be involved more than usual with a parent. You might focus on redecorating projects or reorganizing things at home. You might also enjoy relaxing among familiar surroundings. Meanwhile, Venus will encourage entertaining and socializing, so stock the fridge and invite the gang over. You will relate warmly with children. It’s a great time for games and fun. Romance will be sweet and affectionate. One thing that will make you happy and relaxed is you feel there’s no need to pretend to be who you are not. You’ll be like Popeye, “I yam what I yam!”

Goddesses and Gods – Greek Titans – Rhea, Goddess of Fertility and Motherhood and Hyperion, God of Light and Sunlight

Greek Titans – Rhea, goddess of fertility and motherhood

Rhea (Rheia, Opis, Ops) was a Titan goddess of fertility and motherhood. She was very gentle and comfortable. Her name actually means “ease” as “at ease” and therefore this was probably the reason she was interpreted and worshiped as a goddess of comfort and ease. According to some authors, she is also described as the supreme mother goddess, just like her mother Gaea was and what later her daughter Hera became, but in Orphic hymn Rhea was even described as the supreme goddess, mother of all gods and men and it is said that even Uranus and Gaea derived from her. And as if there were not enough confusion yet, according to various authors, Rhea is also described as Cybelean goddess whose home was in Phyrgia which means that they are equating her with Cybelle, Anatolian earth goddess, but to return back to mainstream belief, backed by most authors, Rhea was a daughter of Uranus and Gaea and, because she was married to her brother Cronus, she was also a queen of the Cosmos. Together they represented “eternal flow” as they gave birth to a new generation of gods who then took control of the world, just like they and other titans had done it in the past. Therefore, she was also identified as a goddess of generations.

Birth of Olympians and plot against Cronus

Rhea was very much like her mother and loved her children unconditionally but unfortunately Cronus was like his father, jealous of his children’s powers and in fear of being overthrown. She became mad when Cronus forced her to give him their children to swallow upon birth. She started plotting against him and by the time he had swallowed Hestia, Hera, Poseidon, Hades, and Demeter, Rhea decided that enough is enough. She gave birth to her last childZeusin secrecy and gave Cronus a rock, wrapped in a blanket, to swallow instead. Cronus was pleased, not knowing that Zeus was still out there, and thought he was safe from the prophecy. In Hesiod’s Theogony, it is said that Rhea brought infant Zeus to Crete and gave it to Gaea to look after him. Gaea then guided him to the secret cave beneath Mount Aegeum or Mount Dicte. Zeus was raised there and, when grown up, came to Mount Othrys as a cupbearer and mixed a potion into Cronus’ drink which made him vomit all of his children. Later, in a ten-year war, Zeus and Olympians defeated Cronus and the Titans. They became the next rulers, just like Cronus and his brothers had done in the past, when overthrowing Uranus. In the end, Rhea was the main reason that history repeated itself.

According to Diodorus Siculus, it is said that Poseidon too had escaped the cannibalism of his father and that it was Rhea who had given him to the Telchines to look after him. However, according Pausanias, Rhea had hidden Poseidon among a flock of lambs when he was next to be swallowed.

The desire of motherhood

Like mentioned in Ovid’s Fasti, Rhea was mad and angry because she was often pregnant but never truly a mother of her children due to cannibalism of Cronus who ate most of them while Zeus and, variously, Poseidon on the other hand had to be hidden away from Cronus. She was mentioned to be often in company of lions which she nursed and took care of. The goddess is also said to have helped nurturing the young Dionysus when he was brought to her by Hermes, on Zeus’ orders who had to hide him from jealous and angry Hera. She was also, according to Homeric hymn to Apollo, involved in the birth of Apollo on the island of Delos. Upon the god’s birth, she, along her sisters Tethys and Theia, washed him with pure clean water and placed him in a white garment and took care of him until Leto recovered.

Other myths

Rhea was also involved in the return of Demeter to Mount Olympus. Demeter, in grief and sorrow, withdrew herself from the rest of the gods when Persephone was abducted. When the two were reunited, Demeter, still in anger of Persephone being bound to the underworld, declined to return. However, Rhea came to Demeter and convinced her that her place is among her brothers and sisters on Mount Olympus. In Nonnus’ Dionysiaca, Rhea is also said to had given an Amethyst to Dionysus that protected him from the tyranny of madness when drinking wine.

Greek Titan – Hyperion, god of light and sunlight

Hyperion was a Titan god of light or sunlight and was associated with watching and observation from above. He was also known as a Pillar of east. Together with his other three brothers, Crius, Coeus and Iapetus, they presided as the Pillars of holding Heaven and Earth apart. He was one of six sons of Uranus and Gaea and is mentioned by Apollodorus as one of the five brothers, all but Oceanus, who participated in rebellion against Uranus and later attacked him. When they overcame him, the four brothers probably held him down while Cronus castrated him. While most of the authors are identifying Hyperion as a unique character, Homer is equating Helios and Hyperion as one and the same character and it can be seen in both of his epics, the Iliad and the Odyssey.

Establishing a rhythm of days and months

Due to his diligent observation, he was first to understand the movements of the sun and the moon, as well as the other stars and seasons. He was believed to have ordered the cycles of the sun, the moon and the dawn. During his time, he married her sister Theia with whom he had three children who presided over these cycles. Helios presided over sun, Selene over the moon and Eos presided over the dawn.

Titanomachy

Although there are notes of Hyperion participating in Titanomachy, there is no reference of his role in the war. It is only known that he sided with his brothers and fellow Titans against younger Olympians. And that he was in the end, after losing the war, imprisoned in Tartarus with his brothers and relatives. However, according to Aeschylus’ lost play , he was later released byZeus from Tartarus with the rest of the titans.

The spirit animal will choose you based on where you are heading in life. It considers your stage in life, the desires of your heart, and your goals and dreams.

The animal that steps forward is best suited to give you a sense of direction.

Your animal helper can communicate with you in several ways. For example, you may encounter this spirit guide physically.

You will feel an instant attachment when you physically cross paths with your spirit animals.

Your spirit helper may also visit you in the form of dreams when you are asleep. This animal may also reveal itself to you in your meditations.

A good number of spirit animals happen to be pets. If you are very fond of your pet, this is likely your spirit helper.

You need to pay more attention to this animal to receive the vibes it’s sending your way.

Your animal guide always brings to the fore your stellar qualities. It feels you with confidence and you feel better about your qualities and attributes.

We all need to let our inner child out to play. Some think it is only once in a while, but I do something almost daily that a child would enjoy doing and enjoy the day more because of it.

Some Information about a Touchy Subject – Domestic Violence

I want to touch on what maybe a very sensitive subject for some domestic violence and abuse. I have bee in this type of relationship more than once in my current lifetime and now that I have a man who treats me as an equal with love and caring I look back on those other relationships with fear that I was caught in the repeating cycle of not feeling as great about who I am. I am not going to get on a soap box and tell any of you to say in a relationship or not. I will say if you feel stuck getting told how dumb or worthless or fat or whatever negative thing your partner says to you, you may want to revaluate why you say in the relationship. Most of the time people, yes this goes for men also, in a relationship that puts them down and feeling like a second-class person is because they do not feel they are worthy of having a better partner or the biggest reason is financial. Please talk with the Gods, Goddesses, your Spirit Guides, or someone you trust to not go back to your partner with what you say to them about him or her and listen for their guidance.
