‘THINK on THESE THINGS’ for February 17th

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’
By Joyce Sequichie Hifler

It has become increasingly noticeable how the power grab has reached even the lower levels of living. It is a right thing for us to try to raise ourselves. To fail to try would earmark us for failure….and yet up the shaky ladder of success climb so many bodies without spirits, so little understanding of what is ahead….and often less of what is past.

If we could only realize our power comes not from grasping the coattails of others, but from a higher source that knows the way….that places before us the right steps, the correct manner, the much needed wisdom and inspiration.

Why is it that when all this guidance is available to us, we let the littleness of our souls hold us back, believing all the time that any forward motion is because we have learned how to twist situations to our own avail.

How sad the lot of those who discover all the rungs on their ladder are on the same level. “Power will intoxicate the best hearts, as wine the strongest heads,” wrote Caleb Colton. “No man is wise enough, nor good enough, to be trusted with unlimited power.”

Elder’s Meditation of the Day – February 17

Elder’s Meditation of the Day – February 17

“Silence and self-control permeate the entirety of our lives.”

–Larry P. Aitken, CHIPPEWA

The Creator gave us all the Red Road and on this Red Road we are required to think and act in a spiritual way. To make sure I conduct myself according to the Red Road, I must make sure I develop my self discipline. Self control works best when we pray for the courage and power t do the will of the Great Spirit. We are here on the earth to do the will of the Great Spirit. Sometimes, we must battle ourselves to do this.

Great Spirit, help me to have my self-control guided by spiritual ways.

February 17 – Daily Feast

February 17 – Daily Feast

Touching the earth is a lovely thing, a feeling of once again finding our beginnings, a knowing that this place where we stand, whether to walk or plow or plant, is something created for us, for the pulse of the earth slows our own and tranquilizes our confusion. The Cherokees believe that seeing the sky in all its limitless depths stirs our imaginations and stretches our awareness of how much simple beauty is provided for us. We can see that bitterness lasts only as long as we allow it, but we have reached beyond the ceiling of our minds and are as unlimited as the sky. As currents of air stir the fragrance of flowers, we may not be able to see all things but we sense the influence and know that life is ours to enjoy. It comes by Divine heritage.

The Daily Motivator for Feb. 17th – Think the best

Doubt is a thought you can let go of. Confidence is a thought you can choose  to hold and to expand upon.

If you think something is too difficult or out of reach, your thoughts do  indeed put it out of reach. Alternately, when you think you’re capable and  deserving, you’ll find a way to make it happen.

Your thoughts most certainly do control you. Yet, before your thoughts  control you, you have the opportunity to select and control them.

Your perspective is built upon the thoughts you most consistently choose. The  most powerful perspective comes from the most positive thoughts.

Just because life is full of problems does not mean you must choose to be  full of negative thoughts. Focus your thoughts not on where you and others have  stumbled, but on the most positive, desirable way forward.

You always have a choice of what to think, so choose consistently to think  the best of life.  That puts you well on the way to making it happen.

Daily OM for February 17th – Find Your Soul Purpose through the Akashics

Find Your Soul Purpose through the Akashics

From Find Your Soul Purpose through the Akashics On-Line Course

by Teri Uktena

The Akashics is a name derived from the Sanskrit word Akasha and it refers to the base substance of the universe. This is the substance by which the Universe is made and that retains a record of all that has ever occurred to everything that has ever existed. Scientists in various fields are beginning to find evidence that confirms the existence of Akasha and are beginning to see it as a ‘field as omni present as gravity and he electro-magnetic field. It is currently discussed in the various scientific communities as the ‘in-formation field that underlies everything and is the force that holds all things together.

Long before the scientific method gave  to learn about our world, indigenous cultures on every continent knew of its existence.

Medicine elders, mystics, shamans, gurus, druids, and all types of holy people spent a great deal of their time and resources attempting to reach it consciously, to channel the information and energy they experience there, and to bring back the wisdom that they have acquired through their travels. Each in their own way have done so, bringing healing, insight and a better life to all who have known them, read or heard about them.

While science currently sees the Akashics as a field of information to be studied, people experience the Akashics as a place, a multifaceted realm that can be traveled to and explored. In that ream is the Library where the records of all things are kept including each individual’s personal Soul Book. This book is the history of everything your soul has ever done and the plans for it during this lifetime. This book can be read in order to receive further understanding of who you are today and the purposes and goals your soul has set for you. There are also books for businesses, geographical places, buildings, and much, much more.

In the Akashics reside souls which are not currently experiencing embodied life, spirits which work within the Akashics and guides which aid people in their embodied lives. It is a place where you can be introduced consciously to the guides who are assigned to help you throughout your life or for specific projects or the time periods and interact with them. You may communicate with them directly and learn how they can communicate with you.

In the past 100 years, as our world has moved closer to a new age, more and more people have begun to experience heightened awareness of the connectedness of all things, the earth, politics, and personal interactions. More have felt a calling to seek out ways in which to improve their lives and the lives of those around them. Many talented people have found that they can reach the Akashics and ‘read the information there in order to help others, the most renowned of which being . Hundreds have become readers and have helped thousands to learn more about themselves and how to be their best and highest selves.

Now in the Twenty-First Century the Akashics are no longer for the few, but are open to everyone who seeks to find the answers to their questions and to act on what they find. In fact, what most people don’t know is that they have always been open to everyone. Every living human being accesses the Akashics naturally while they are sleeping. Those dreams that seem just a bit more real and coherent than the others, where you are talking to someone you know but don’t recognize their face, that’s the Akashics. You were there. That dream where you are your happiest in that special place where the world is perfect? That’s you in the Akashics. That dream where you wake up having figured out the answer to that nagging question magically out of now where? Yep, that’s the Akashics too. You’re a natural. You’re in.

This is in part because of your soul. Many people have taken in the message that our souls are some mystical ‘thing that is important but separate from our physical selves and daily lives, when the reality is quite different. Our souls give us life and make us unique. Our bodies, our emotions, our intellect are all manifestations of our soul in relationship with the world around us and all other things. We are in an ongoing conversation with ‘all that is and this is reflected in how we live in the world. However, souls are not small things that hover in our chests or hide at the base of our skulls or live in a nebulous cloud throughout our bodies. Each individual soul is very large and only a small portion of each soul resides in a person. The remainder of the soul remains on the spiritual plane that includes the Akashics.

Imagine if you will a rubber band being stretched in your hands. One part is in your left hand and the other is in your right. If you look at only one hand you could perceive that the rubber band resides only there. But if you look at both you can see that it is all connected and if you move your hands closer together the rubber band relaxes and you are able to easily see that it is one thing. Souls are much like this. When you are in conscious connection with the Akashics your soul moves toward wholeness and you are able receive the benefits of that which can and do include wisdom, healing, empowerment, and knowledge, among others.

There are a multitude of experiences that one can have in the Akashics, too many to number here. The purpose of this class is specifically for you to learn how to access the Akashics in order to read your own Soul book. You will also meet your own guides or those guides who wish to work with you during this process. Reading your Soul book will give you the ability to learn why you are here, what the meaning of your life has been so far, what challenges you are here to work through, what expectations you have for yourself, what are your gifts and abilities, what you are to learn, and who you wanted to become. Among many, many other things! As many questions as you
can imagine, there are responses and support in your Soul book.

There are some things that the Akashics are not. They are not a means to see your future. Because each individual has free will, the future cannot be determined. We have the right to choose each action that we take and this makes the future a woven fabric which we are actively weaving each day of our lives, in each moment. Nothing is pre-determined conclusively.

Also, your guides and your Soul book will almost never give ‘yes or ‘no’, ‘right or ‘wrong answers. As the purpose of your life is to make choices, make mistakes, learn and grow and most of all experience life, the Akashics and your guides will never state definitively what you should choose. Aggravating as it is, they will only lay out the options and opportunities and help you see the end results each choice might bring.

The Akashics is not a place to try and influence others. Unless you have permission from the other person you will not be allowed to see anyone else’s book or to leave them messages or interact with them.

The Akashics is a place for personal growth and healing which can help you understand a relationship, for instance, or a tendency you have for picking a specific type of partner, but it will not aid you in interfering directly in the choices you have made or in the choices or lives of others.

So, with all of that said, it’s time now to prepare for your own personal adventure in working with the Akashics. Firstly, there are a variety of ways in which people interpret their experiences in the Akashics. No way is better than any other and each is geared to give you the best experience that matches your unique style and gifts.

Some people tend towards visual imagery and so will see images like still photos, either black or white or color, or they will experience information as if they are seeing a movie play before them. Sometimes they will feel like they are in the movie or in a video game.

Others are strongest at hearing. They will hear information, but have no pictures to go with the sound. Most often they hear voices, ambient sounds while seeing random colors or some kind of holding pattern.

And still others are more tactile and so they receive physical sensations or emotions while receiving information directly into their memories. During or after being in the Akashics a partner can ask them pertinent questions such as what their book looked like, what room they were in, or who they interacted with and they will be able to tell you, although their experience of the event was purely tactile.

The first step to traveling to the Akashics is learning how you perceive in the Akashic realm. To do this, let’s go through a simple meditation.

Make sure that you have paper and a pen or pencil ready, as you will want to write down your results.

Beginning Meditation

Find a place where you will not be disturbed.

Sit comfortably in a chair or on the floor making sure that you do not have either your legs or arms crossed.

Take three deep breaths to calm yourself.

Close your eyes.

Feel your body relaxing from the center of your being outward, through your chest, through your arms to your hands, up your back, through your neck and jaw. Relax your face, relax your eyes. Let the relaxation radiate through your pelvis and down your legs until it reaches the very tips of your toes.

Now that you are relaxed imagine you see a doorway in front of you. Move through that doorway into a room. The room is pleasant and open. At the other end of the room is something sitting, waiting patiently. Move forward and you will see that it is an animal. It is loving and patient and there only for you. Walk up to the animal, touch it gently if you wish, acknowledge it and let it acknowledge you.

When you are ready, you will see that the animal is sitting in front of another doorway. Open the door and follow your animal through it. Look all around you. See that you are in the most beautiful, loving, wonderful place you can imagine. A place where you feel your best and where everything is perfect and just for you. Look at everything around you. See all the colors; hear all the sounds as they float around you. Feel what it is like to be in this space. Feel it in your body and let your mind know that you are there.

At your feet there is an object. It is specifically for you. Pick it up and hold it. Feel it in your hand. Look at it closely. Note the color, shape, and weight of it. Hold it to your chest and know that it is specifically for you and that it has great meaning for you. It will always be there when you need it and you can come back to this place at any time.

Place the object back on the ground. Take one last look around you at everything and let a feeling of peace and contentment settle over you.

Turn and follow your animal back through the doorway. You are now back in your room. Thank your animal for journeying with you. They will always be there when you need them and you can come to the room at any time you wish. Walk back through the room to the further door and back to your body.

Take three deep breaths and as you breathe begin to wiggle your toes and your fingers. Take note of the sounds in the room around you.

Open your eyes.

After the meditation

How you experience this meditation is most likely how you will experience the Akashics. If you were able to see then you will see in the Akashics. If you were able to hear but not see clearly or at all then that will be our experience and more than likely you will want to work with a guide to have them read your book to you or request that the book be and audio book in your case. The information can be provided in any form. If you had tactile sensations then while writing notes about the experience you should note that you are ‘remembering quite a bit more than you noted while you were having the experience.

Trust that what you are writing down is true. For those who are tactile it is sometimes helpful to have a partner during and after the visit that can ask probing questions. This will help you assimilate the information more in real time and can help provide more insight into what you are experiencing.

I recommend working with this meditation daily throughout this week.

Journal your experiences to see your progress. Each meditation will be unique and provide you insights into yourself and the world around you.

How to Phrase Your Tarot Question

How to Phrase Your Question

Get the most from your Tarot and I-Ching readings

Tarotcom Staff  Tarotcom Staff on the topics of tarot, i ching

It’s important to realize that if you ask the appropriate kind of questions, you will have a more satisfying Tarot or I-Ching experience. Readings work best when you are looking for greater insight, wise advice or an idea of which way the wind is blowing. They are NOT designed to answer questions asking for data or to give exact predictions about the future.

Consult the Tarot or I-Ching as if you were asking the advice of a wise friend or teacher, and expect to get a snapshot of what is going on in the present, at the time you are picking the cards. A great question is “What is happening with regard to (a situation or relationship),” while a not-so-good question to avoid is something specific like “Where should I go on vacation.”

You also may skip asking a question and just enter a subject (the name of a situation or person you are in relationship with) and Tarot cards can give you a spectacularly helpful reading as long as you are sincerely focused when you pick your cards or toss the coins.

Use Your Intuition: The Benefits of Tarot

Use Your Intuition: The Benefits of Tarot

Learn what a Tarot reading can do for you!

Tarotcom Staff      Tarotcom Staff on the topics of tarot, insight

Are you wondering, “Why should I do a Tarot reading?” It’s a common question for Tarot beginners, and one that has a simply wonderful answer: Because it can help you improve your life!

Tarot is all about “intuition.” You know — that pure perception of truth we all have hidden deep inside. It’s the inner voice of your higher self, telling you what is the right thing to do and hoping you won’t ignore it. Well, Tarot cards can help you hear your inner voice and embrace its message.

Sometimes it’s hard to hear your inner voice amid all the cosmic clutter. And some people may hear it, but they deny it. Which is where Tarot comes in. If you can learn to use Tarot readings to tap into your wise intuition and listen and learn its lessons, you will be guided toward a more fulfilling life.

Some people have a fear of Tarot because don’t want to face their personal truth or they’re afraid they’ll see something “bad” in their future. But that’s not how it works. Tarot can’t predict the future. It’s simply a valuable tool for tapping into your intuition and using that insight to make decisions that will lead to a happier life.

Here are a few ways Tarot readings can help you:

Gain clarity — Whatever your situation, you can’t avoid the truth with Tarot. Tarot puts you in touch with your higher self, also known as your intuition, and it will force you to take an honest look at your life — even the things you’d rather not admit! Once you have that clarity, you’ll be able to make more responsible choices.

Highlight areas that need work — Sometimes life gets so overwhelming that you don’t know where to begin to make it better. Tarot can help highlight the things you should be focusing on right now in order to get the best results in the future.

Find peace — Anxiety, worry and fear are often symptoms of living in the unknown. And while Tarot cannot predict the future or tell you for sure what’s going to happen, it can tap into what is happening right now. Once you have clarity on the present, it’s easier to determine the path you’re on and how to change it for the best.

Make difficult decisions — People often turn to Tarot for advice about what to do, and once again Tarot can’t predict the future. But it can provide a snapshot of your present life, and show you a few likely options of where you’re headed if you continue on the same path. You can use this information to continue down the road you’re on, or make a necessary change.

Improve your life — Never forget the power of free will! If you see something you don’t like about your life in a Tarot reading, you have the power to change it. That’s the whole point!

Feng Shui Tip for Sunday, Feb. 17th – ‘World Human Spirit Day’

It’s seems fitting on ‘World Human Spirit Day’ that I share a powerful way to energize your spirit. Both Feng Shui and vibrational healers agree that the healing color of green can cleanse and rejuvenate your Chi while raising your spirits as well. Close your eyes and imagine your entire body surrounded by a ball of clear green light. As you inhale, breathe in this light and visualize it circulating all throughout your body. When you breathe out, exhale toxins, imbalances and impurities along with anger, rage and fear. Repeat this exercise six times to make your spirit refreshed, revivified and restored. The ripple effect guarantees that you will uplift the entire world.

Your Native American Horoscope

Your Native American Horoscope

Many Native American  traditions teach that there are twelve Earth Personalities that make  up the Earth Medicine Wheel. These form an earth-centered horoscope that gives  us valuable information about our totem animal, our personality, and our  spirit-task in life. Find out which Earth Personality you are, as well as your  totem animal and your principle life-lesson:

March 21 – April 19: The Awakening Time. Falcon. Your principle  lessons: Discovering that happiness comes through sharing, and that  individuality need not be selfish but van be expressed more fully when it is in  harmony with others.

April 20 – May 20: The Growing Time. Beaver. Your principle  lessons: Your worst emotional traumas are likely to be in those areas of your  life in which the tendency to form attachments extends into close personal  relationships and becomes possessive. Through the grist of experience you are  cultivating flexibility, adaptability, and compassion. You need to give others  the “space” to be themselves, just as you demand the space to be “you.”

May 21 – June 20: The Flowering Time. Deer. Your principle  lessons: The rifts you have with others indicate divisions within yourself. You  are learning how to co-ordinate that which appears to be contrary but which  truly is complementary.

June 21 – July 21: The Long Days Time. Woodpecker. Your principle  lessons: To learn to treasure the moment. Not to dwell on regrets of the past or  on expectations of what may be in the future, but to recognize that the power to  make changes ins always in the Now! The challenges you face on your Earth “Walk”  are to enable you to mature through the experience of closeness. Much stress and anxiety may be  caused through tenaciously holding on to what has served its purpose, and  through mistaking attachment for love. The ability to let go is often a test of  true love.

July 22 – August 21: The Ripening Time. Salmon. Your principle  lessons: You are frequently faced with situations which challenge your stubborn  resistance to change, and with the need to become more flexible and adaptable  through developing a regard for the emotional needs of others. You are learning  to recognized that fulfillment comes not so much through the forcefulness of  making things happen, but through allowing things to be.

August 22 – September 21: The Harvesting Time. Brown Bear. Your  principle lessons: Whatever you are searching for is to be found where you are.  You are learning to know when to exert energy to effect a change, and when to  accept circumstances that cannot be changed.

September 22 – October 22: The Falling Leaves Time. Crow. Your  principle lessons: To gain the inner strength that comes from acting firmly on  your convictions, and acquiring the wisdom that results from making sound  judgments.

October 23 – November 22: The Frost Time. Snake. Your principle  lessons: Your impatience causes you pain and discomfort, but such traumas are  teaching you the need for proper timing. Being confronted with seemingly  formidable tasks and difficult tests is part of the regenerative process  inherent in your nature, which can enable you to transform what was into that  which may now be. Such challenges push you beyond your own self-limitations.

November 23 – December 21: The Long Nights Time. Owl. Your  principle lessons: Learning to manage your potentials by not dissipating your  energies in too  many directions at once. Attainment of inner sight so you can perceive beyond  the obvious, and a warm heart so you can be compassionate towards those who  stumble around in the dark.

December 22 – January 19: The Renewal Time. Goose. Your principle  lessons: These are derived from your efforts to arrange and conserve, for their  purpose is to teach you self-reliance and self-sufficiency in order to establish  your own identity.

January 20 – February 18: The Cleansing Time. Otter. Your  principle lessons: To help you to find the courage to act more on an inner  “knowing” than on other peoples expectancies. You are learning to turn visions  into practical realities through struggle and even adversity.

February 19 – March 20: The Blustery Winds Time. Wolf. Your  principle lessons: To learn to become more discriminating in facing the demands  that are constantly made upon you. The challenges of your life are for the  purpose of enabling you to break free from entanglements that are limiting and  restrictive, so your horizons can be extended.

Today’s I Ching Hexagram is February 17th is 35: Easy Progress

35: Easy Progress

Sunday, Feb 17th, 2013

hexagram09

The general situation is one of easy, natural progress. That which had been weak is now steadily rising up, and by gaining a prominent position, becomes a stronger force. The image is the light of the rising sun, which at first appears dimly through the mists. But this relatively weak light later radiates with powerful clarity once the sun has reached a high position in the sky.

Progress is made when those in subordinate positions create harmony with those above, and in so doing create a natural means for their collective talents and abilities to blossom. It is by recognizing and riding with the natural course of events — by hitching our wagon to the rising sun, as it were — that we advance our position and earn respect.

Goodness in human nature is like the dim but beautiful early morning light. It can easily be obscured — by greed, hatred and other forms of self-absorption — just as the morning light can be swallowed by fog. Be reminded that progress is achieved most effortlessly when right action is taken without concern for immediate reward, and when the path of the weaker elements aligns with the strong.

Is Big Foot real or a hoax? It doesn’t really matter, because he has ambled into your reading to remind you of life’s mysteries. Not everything can be explained, not everything can be touched—but that doesn’t mean it don’t exist. Suspend your logic for a bit, and be open to the mystery.

Your Tarot Card for February 17th is The Chariot

The Chariot

Sunday, Feb 17th, 2013

Traditionally, the card usually entitled the Chariot points to a triumphal feeling of freedom, as if the charioteer is being paraded through the streets as a hero (or heroine). The card reflects congratulations for high achievement, and serves as a sign of empowerment.

Huge wheels and frisky steeds speed the rate at which the driver’s willpower can be realized. This kind of charge makes more of the world accessible to anyone ambitious enough to seize the Chariot’s reins. But there is danger in this feeling of freedom, because of the increased rate of change and its power to magnify mistakes in judgment. As a seasoned warrior, the Charioteer is called upon to be extra attentive to the way ahead.

A Look Ahead – Spring Love Horoscopes 2013

Spring Love Horoscopes 2013

As the Sun start to shine, so will your love life!

Maria DeSimone   Maria DeSimone on the topics of horoscopes, astrology, love

Looking for love? Now that the Sun is out again after a long, dreary winter it’s time to open your heart and see what the stars have in store for your romantic life. This spring we’ll have plenty of cosmic cooperation to help you out. Venus and Mars — the planets of love and desire — will move along the zodiac at a pace that offers plenty of opportunity for your heart to soar. It’s also Eclipse season! For some signs, that means life altering changes in the romance department. So go ahead, read all about your sign’s spring love forecast. It’s time to smile because the Sun is out and love is in the air!

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Your sign kicks off the Spring Equinox which automatically makes you extra favored in all things now — especially love!  Not only are you feeling more confident and vibrant, you can be sure that there will be plenty of romantic opportunities in store as spring opens up. From March 21-April 14 you’re simply gorgeous! Venus will grace your sign during these weeks offering you plenty of seductive glow. In addition, Mars will be in your sign until April 20 adding even more sex appeal. Your powers of attraction will be off the charts during these weeks!

Be sure to schedule a fun filled weekend on April 5-7 because whether you’re single or attached, the sizzling conjunction of Venus to Mars will leave you breathless. If you’re married, there might be a glitch in your relationship to work out during the nasty Full Moon in Libra on March 27. If you run into problems at this time but want to salvage the relationship, be sure to schedule a couples retreat the weekend of April 5-7. The make-up sex alone will heal you both!

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

Taurus, you’re the sign responsible for sustaining the beauty spring contains. This year, you’ll be happy to know that when the flowers around you begin to bloom, so will your best romantic potential! Venus, your ruling planet of love, will enter your sign on April 15-May 9 and during this time your sensual charms will be off the charts! In addition to this, Mars, the planet of desire, will be in your sign from April 20-May 31. Although these two planets will play “hard to get” with each other, and never form an exact conjunction in the sky, you will certainly benefit from the mouthwatering love bites they’ll offer. If you’re attached however, there may be a few bumps in the relationship department this spring. On April 22 Venus will oppose Saturn, the planet of restriction and limits which is now in your 7th House of Committed Partnership.

There might be a test in your marriage — particularly if you aren’t feeling appreciated and adored from your mate. A Lunar Eclipse in your 7th house on April 25 will pick up on this theme. If there’s a weak link in your relationship, this Eclipse may prompt a break. If this happens try not to fret … a gorgeous Solar Eclipse in your sign on May 9 spells new beginnings everywhere!

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

Although your sign is in its glory at the tail end of spring, this certainly doesn’t mean you’ll feel left out of the spring love club this year. In fact, in some ways the universe may have saved the best for last! First however, you’ll need to get through an icky Full Moon in Libra on March 27. If you’re single then it might be a time you feel sorry for yourself more than usual about your single status. If you’re dating someone, this lunation will present a tough blow to your love fest. A break is possible — especially if issues of trust and personal space crop up. Not to worry though, because the planets are sure to align in your favor by late spring. In fact, on May 9 and until June 2, Venus will be in your sign giving you the “fairest one of all” award. Also, from May 31-June 13 Mars will be in your sign as well — giving you all the ambition you need to pursue who you desire. On May 28 Venus and Jupiter embrace in your sign and you know what that means? Yummylicious romance! If you’re married or in a serious relationship, then you can expect a turning point at the Lunar Eclipse on May 25. This Eclipse will fall in your 7th House of Committed Partnerships and if you’ve been blinded by love it’s possible that now, your blind spot will be exposed. On the other hand, if you know that by now you’re living a real life romantic fairytale, then it’s possible you and your mate will deepen your commitment.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

Although Saturn, the planet of tests and limitation, is now fully entrenched in your 5th House of True Love, don’t automatically think that your spring is doomed to a dry spell. Instead, think of this as spring training for your heart. Admittedly, March 22 might be a difficult day to navigate since Venus will oppose Saturn. A friend may show marked disapproval for someone you’ve got your sights on. In the end, you’ll need to make the call and be true to yourself. But first, take your friend’s point into consideration … is this person really good enough for you?

A Lunar Eclipse on March 25 in your 5th house might force you to take pause and give serious consideration in matters of the heart. You don’t just want to give your love away; you want it to be earned by someone who deserves it. From June 2-26 you’ll have plenty of magnetism thanks to Venus touring your sign. Love potential will be stimulated on June 7 when Venus forms a friendly link to Saturn in your 5th house. This will be your weekend to take a chance on love!

Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22)

Although romance might not by your primary focus this spring, you’ll have your fair share of action in the love department. The main event for you, by far, will be the Lunar Eclipse on May 25. This Eclipse will fall in your 5th House of True Love and you can expect illumination when it comes to your feelings for someone special. There’s a heavy dose of Neptunian energy around this Eclipse and it’s possible that you’ll think you’re only fooling yourself that this couldn’t possibly be love. Think again. This Eclipse will provide a turning point for you where you may consider entering into a relationship with someone you didn’t see clearly in the past. You might still feel confused as you begin the relationship. However, you will have him or her on a pedestal for now and will be willing to give your new partner the benefit of the doubt.

If you’re attached, it’s possible that your feelings for this person will deepen and those beautiful “I love yous” will be exchanged for the very first time. With Venus and Jupiter embracing days later on May 28 in your 11th House of Love Received, you will be more open to love this week than any other time this spring. Go ahead, fall in love. Your heart is ready.

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22)

This spring, love can definitely feel like “Some Kind of Wonderful” thanks to a few gorgeous links to Neptune, now in your 7th House of Partnership. But first, don’t forget to mark your calendar for the weekend of April 5-7 since a sexy conjunction of Venus to Mars in your 8th House of Deep Intimacy may prove to be quite titillating! After Venus enters Taurus, she’ll connect beautifully to Neptune — on April 18. This will be your day for inspirational love. You and your sweetheart may decide to take a spiritual or romantic retreat together — and it could involve long distance travel!

When Mars connects to Neptune on April 26 you’ll have no trouble sharing your deepest fantasies with your mate. Love may somehow connect to your career on May 28 as Venus and Jupiter embrace in your professional 10th house. Then, on June 7 you might be certain you’ve found your soul mate thanks to an enchanting link between Venus and Neptune. Still, love is not without its struggles and one may erupt on June 11 as Venus opposes Pluto, the planet of obsession and control, now in your 5th House of True Love. Remember, your heart needs to trust in order to surrender to the deep, life altering potential love can provide. Are you ready?

Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22)

Ouch! You might start off the spring with a bruise to your heart. On March 27, a tense Full Moon will fall in your sign. Since it’ll be emotionally charged, it’s possible that you and a loved one will part ways. Remember Libra, you have the unique lesson of learning how to relate while also trying to keep your identity in the process. If you’ve been giving yourself away too much for the sake of a relationship, then this lunation may bring it to a crashing end. Still, don’t lose hope! Venus and Mars will tour your 7th House of Partnership for the early weeks of spring, making it possible for you and your mate to enjoy a heated argument followed by delicious make up sex. March 21-April 14 are your best days to enjoy harmony with a partner — if you manage to survive the vicious Full Moon.

Whenever Venus graces your partnership sector it will encourage you to make peace with your mate. Unfortunately, Mars will be there to stir the pot as well. From March 12-April 20 there may not be a shortage of argument. The good news is that you can also be sure that there will be plenty of passion to go along with the bickering. In fact, if you and your sweetie pie can take the weekend of April 5-7 to go off on a romantic getaway, the time together may remind you why you fell in love in the first place.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)

You and your opposite sign Taurus are leading stars in this Spring Eclipse showdown which means there are likely to be major changes in the landscape of a personal relationship. With Saturn in your sign, you may feel a strong urge to get serious about what you want personally and with a partner. On April 25, a Lunar Eclipse in your sign closely connected to Saturn will be a wakeup call. Is a relationship moving in the direction that you hoped for? Or are you the one pulling all the weight in what is supposed to be a twosome? You’ll have your answer under the light of this Full Moon Eclipse. Fortunately, a new beginning is possible for you and your mate since two weeks later a New Moon Solar Eclipse will fall in your 7th House of Partnership on May 9. It’s definitely time to do some spring cleaning in your relationship life and once you honestly examine those cobwebs and dust them away, you may find enormous potential for romantic bliss. With Venus in your 7th house from April 15-May 9 you’ll have the perfect amount of cosmic support to believe that in the end, love will prevail.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21)

Your heart is on fire this spring! If you’re single then you can certainly expect love to come knocking on your door. If you’re attached, then expect sparks to fly again between you and your honey. Venus, the planet of love, will be in your 5th House of Romance from March 21-April 15. This is an incredible cycle for pleasure and amore! As if that wasn’t good enough, Mars, the planet of desire, will be the same area of your chart from March 12-April 20. If this doesn’t wake up your libido, nothing will! The cosmic lovers connected in your house of love and sex is a rare treat indeed so be sure to indulge. March 28 is a day love can arrive in the most unexpected and exciting way thanks to a perfect link between Venus and electrifying Uranus.

Also, mark your calendar for the weekend of April 5-7 when these two planets will tangle up in a passionate embrace. You simply must make the most of this energy. Plan a first date, or a romantic encounter with your lover. It’ll be hot, hot, hot! In addition to all of this fiery, passionate energy, a Lunar Eclipse will fall in your sign on May 25. This will bring complete illumination about a vital relationship matter. You’ll know whether or not you’ve been kissing a frog and you’ll act accordingly. Fortunately, a gorgeous embrace between Venus and Jupiter on May 28 in your 7th House of Partnership is a positive indicator that in the end, love is all you need!

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)

This spring, it seems as if almost every sign has their shot at romance. While you might have felt cheated over the winter in the love department, the season has changed … and guess what? Love is in the air! You’ll notice a major shift once Venus enters your 5th House of Romance on April 15. Until May 9 you’ll have plenty of admirers and if you’re single, at least one of them may capture your attention. In fact, on April 24 Venus will link up perfectly to Pluto, now in your sign. This could bring a fated love connection your way. You know — the kind that makes you love drunk and all tingly inside. Yep, it could happen! You see this spring, when it comes to your usual love mojo, all bets are off. You might usually be slow to give your heart away. However, this spring that tendency might change. Mars will also be in your romance sector from April 20-May 31 which will help speed up any love connection you make while Venus was there. As if that weren’t enough to get your heart open, a potent Solar Eclipse will fall in your 5th House of True Love on May 9. Oh yeah … love is definitely in your spring forecast!

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18)

It seems as if every sign will get a turn at the game of love this spring … and you are no exception! Your time may arrive later than the other signs but that’s ok — all good things come to those who wait. In your case, love planet Venus will enter your 5th House of Romance on May 9 and will remain there until June 2, giving you plenty of cosmic support if you’re single and looking for love.

If you’re attached, you and your mate could decide to have a baby and you might even conceive one during the spring months. Not only will Venus adorn the 5th house of your chart, but you’ll also be at the tail end of a one year transit of lucky Jupiter touring the same house. In fact, both Venus and Jupiter will embrace in the most blessed of aspects on May 28 so if there was ever a day you can count on winning the jackpot of love, this will be it! Sexy Mars will join the 5th house party on May 31 and will remain here well into Summer which assures you of a once in two year opportunity to enjoy all of the pleasures life has to offer — whether it’s on dance floor or in the bedroom!

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20)

Are you looking for love? Well this spring you’ll begin a fantastic cycle that promises plenty of opportunity for heart felt smooches with someone special. In your case, the main event will begin later than most, however you will not be disappointed once love comes knocking on your door.  Mark your calendar for June 3 because this is when the magic begins! Venus, the planet of love and harmony, will enter your 5th House of Romance on this day. First, she’ll make a gorgeous trine to Neptune and Saturn on June 7 making this your five star day — make that weekend — for love! You might fall under a love spell and if so, you’ll feel a deep, emotional and spiritual connection with your prince or princess.

There will be a tense day in love matters on June 11 when Venus opposes Pluto, and it’s possible that you’ll feel overly obsessed with your lover on this day. Just try not to turn it into a ‘Fatal Attraction’ moment and you’ll be fine! June 12 is another day to watch out for because Venus will rub elbows with Uranus and there might be a sudden break up or a sudden affair that comes your way. Either way, a spring that might be slow to warm up when it comes to romance will end on an extremely sizzling note. Enjoy!

Your Daily Horoscopes for Sunday, February 17th

We need to set priorities today as we weigh the needs of our family or community against more personal desires. The pleasure-seeking Taurus Moon squares the group-minded Aquarius Sun, forcing us to choose between fulfilling individual and social goals. However, our feelings reflect a lighter and more uplifting energy when the Moon skips into whimsical Gemini at 4:49 pm EST. Life might not seem as simple now, but it’s certainly more interesting.

Aries Horoscope

(Mar 21 – Apr 19)

There are too many things to do today and not enough time to finish all of them. Although it might not be a very relaxing day, chances are you will still thoroughly enjoy it. You can feel the excitement swell as you swing into action. Just make sure you have a plan before you wander too far in the wrong direction. Doing a little research in advance saves you time and money and increases your chances for success.

Taurus Horoscope

(Apr 20 – May 20)

Money problems may be highlighted today, yet focusing on your fiscal obligations gives you a better sense of where you actually stand. The greatest danger to your economic well-being comes from your uncharacteristic lack of concentration now. Fortunately, by consciously slowing down your thoughts you can regain control and follow through on what is most important. It’s currently smarter to do one thing right than to do lots of things halfheartedly.

Gemini Horoscope

(May 21 – Jun 20)

The subjective Moon’s return to your sign is a bit confusing today, for her square to nebulous Neptune makes it tough to share your needs without becoming overly emotional. If you find yourself in a stressful discussion, clearly let the other person know that you’re having difficulty expressing your innermost feelings. Ultimately, speaking the truth can be a catalyst that helps the conversation flow more easily.

Cancer Horoscope

(Jun 21 – Jul 22)

You are a walking paradox today because as hard as you try to be logical, your thoughts are colored by idealistic emotional considerations. On the surface it appears that you’re willing to let go of an old resentment; unfortunately, it remains more of a struggle than anyone else realizes. Whether or not you share your internal process now, don’t slip into denial. Life will continue to improve over the days ahead as long as you acknowledge your heart.

Leo Horoscope

(Jul 23 – Aug 22)

It’s challenging to get much finished today because everyone seems to have a different notion of what you should be doing. Additionally, matters are made worse if each person tries to convince you that his or her plan is better than yours. Meanwhile, you would rather continue unencumbered on your current path. Be firm but kind while asking others to let you figure out the day for yourself. Follow your instincts when deciding what to do next.

Virgo Horoscope

(Aug 23 – Sep 22)

You may have to play different roles for different people today, which could leave you feeling uncertain about your true identity. It’s not like you to be unsure of your place in family relationships, but now a lack of clarity might increase your anxiety throughout the weekend. Your best strategy involves putting extra effort into unfinished chores instead of trying to please everyone else. Nevertheless, your real friends love you for who you are and not for what you do.

Libra Horoscope

(Sep 23 – Oct 22)

You may be very productive today, but your current accomplishments are more creative than practical. Everything you touch now has the potential of turning into an artistic masterpiece. Although this could be lots of fun, you must be careful not to spread your energy too thin or you will end up more frustrated than fulfilled. Each potential project has an advantage and a disadvantage. Make sure you explore both before jumping in with both feet.

Scorpio Horoscope

(Oct 23 – Nov 21)

You’re extremely rational today when it comes to your feelings, leading you to remain rather restrained. Ironically, you have the ability to objectively analyze your emotions now without necessarily being overwhelmed by them. A healthy dose of conscious detachment empowers you to tackle a serious issue in a positive manner. Don’t waste the day with one distraction after another. Just figure out where you can make the most progress and dig in.

Sagittarius Horoscope

(Nov 22 – Dec 21)

Without being overly judgmental, consider how a long-termn ally might actually be preventing you from doing what you wish today. However, this annoying situation is less about running into an obstacle than it is about others encouraging you to head off in a new direction now. Thankfully, there’s no need to shut out your supporters, but don’t let anyone pull you too far off track. Never forget you are the master of your own destiny.

Capricorn Horoscope

(Dec 22 – Jan 19)

There are plenty of things you want to accomplish today, but you may not know where to begin. You might even bite off more than you can chew, only to realize how little you actually get done. The best remedy for this potential problem is to make a list early in the day and then stick to your agenda, no matter what happens. Ironically, temporarily narrowing your options now can lead you to other opportunities in the near future.

Aquarius Horoscope

(Jan 20 – Feb 18)

Your stress level might escalate if you choose work over fun. The lighthearted Gemini Moon is visiting your 5th House of Spontaneity, making this a great day to let your inner child out to play. You deserve some time off now, and there is nothing wrong with letting loose as long as you’re willing to make up tomorrow for what you skip out on today.

Pisces Horoscope

(Feb 19 – Mar 20)

Complex circumstances unfolding at home could draw your attention away from your previous plans. You may be seduced into a complicated web of relationship dynamics that are entangling other members of your family. Although your natural tendency is to help anyone you in need, it will be healthier for all involved if you’re extremely clear about your boundaries. Sometimes knowing when to walk away is the kindest thing you can do.

Saturn Retrograde in 2013

Saturn Retrograde in 2013

Firm up your foundation instead of starting something new

Maria DeSimone    Maria DeSimone on the topics of saturn, insight, astrology

Saturn, the planet of discipline, limitation, structure and responsibility, turns retrograde every year for about five months. In 2013, the retrograde period will begin on February 18 and will last until July 8. During this time, everything that supports the foundation of your world will be up for review. Sound ominous? Well, don’t panic. Saturn is retrograde for a long time every single year. Unlike the personal planets (Mercury, Venus and Mars) the retrograde of outer planets usually don’t have a dramatic effect on our day to day life. Still, the symbolism and significance behind Saturn Retrograde is useful to understand since it will be a time to reevaluate personal boundaries, obligations and goals.

Typically, Saturn Retrograde is not the ideal time to begin new commitments, particularly ones that will affect your status and reputation. It is, however, the perfect time to reassess your existing obligations. Are you rising to the occasion or have you taken on more than you can handle? Since Saturn Retrograde will slow the pace down, you’ll begin to notice whether or not you’re making the grade on current projects. You’ll have an opportunity to improve your strategy and organization on a project that’s meaningful to you. Alternatively, you may take stock in a venture you’re involved in and realize that it’s no longer something you want to remain committed to … and that’s ok! As long as you’re honest about whether or not this endeavor has become a source of pain or obstruction and then act accordingly, you’re using Saturn Retrograde exactly as you should.

Put the business on ice

Since Saturn has a natural correlation to one’s professional status, it is imperative that Saturn is strong and direct when starting any new business venture. You will also want a strong Saturn when you begin anything you hope will elevate your reputation and level of authority. If you start a new business, or major enterprise that will affect your status, there’s likely to be a series of problems attached to it. Success will not be denied while Saturn is retrograde. However it will be quite frustrating to achieve. Whatever you begin will likely require extensive reorganization or a complete restructuring. The foundation of anything is not as solid when started under Saturn’s Retrograde — especially when it comes to business.

This doesn’t mean you can’t achieve any measure of success during the five month stretch of Saturn napping. In fact, as long as you stick to working on existing projects, they can become extremely polished and as a result, you’ll achieve the recognition you deserve. Still, it’ll be a good idea to refrain from launching any brand spanking new business pursuit now.

Calendar dates to circle

During this particular Saturn Retrograde cycle in the sign of Scorpio, there will be an emphasis on revising the structures you have built around your financial and intimate life. Do you have a deep seated fear of success or failure? Now is the time to identify any unhealthy pattern connected to achievement that might sabotage you. There will be a few helpful aspects and some extra challenging ones to cross over the next several months. Here’s a rundown on what is most important for you to navigate:

March 6 and March 28 are days when exceptional gains are possible if you review your existing commitments and reorganize accordingly. On these dates, Mercury will connect perfectly to Saturn allowing you to make a decision about a project and stick to it. On March 6 Mercury will be retrograde and it signals a definite pull to a past obligation or project that may now yield fruit. On March 28 you might put the plan from March 6 into motion.

On April 22 Venus in Taurus will oppose Saturn in Scorpio and this will be an opportunity to reconsider financial and romantic commitments. Are you taking more than you give or do you feel you give until it hurts when it comes to a relationship? Now is the time to honestly examine how the answer to this question makes you feel.

On April 28 the Sun in Taurus will oppose Saturn followed on April 30 by Mars opposing Saturn. With these aspects you may need to relocate your inner authority. If you feel as if a higher up is stepping on your toes or squelching your personal development, it’s time to work through it. That might mean cutting ties from someone who is only holding you back.

Mercury in Taurus will oppose Saturn on May 5 and it’ll be time to defend a decision to an authority figure in your life. Although you may feel insecure, stand your ground and trust that you’re fully capable of making the right choice. Make a commitment to only surround yourself with people who value your mind.

On June 7 Venus in Cancer will trine Saturn and what you’ve decided to see through during this Saturn retrograde phase will now begin to show its rewards. A romantic relationship might become more stable — especially if you’ve worked on building a solid future together.

When the Sun in Cancer and Saturn link up in a friendly way on June 26, your inner and outer authority will blend perfectly. What you see is what you get and everyone around you will respect what they see.

Finally, on July 1 Venus in Leo will square Saturn. A commitment or financial decision might reach a breaking point. A relationship you hold on to merely out of obligation might leave such a bad taste in your mouth. If the love and fun are gone, you know it’s time to move on.

Daily Cosmic Calendar for Sunday, February 17th

Take a look back at some of your accomplishments of the last 30 days as the Sun is concluding its stay in Aquarius while preparing to enter Pisces tomorrow morning. Have you joined forces with like-minded souls on group projects, community events, team sports and global initiatives close to your heart and philosophy of life? If not, you may want to remember these themes when Solar Aquarius comes around next year.  In the meantime, troubles may be brewing during the First Quarter Sun-Moon Phase (energizing 30 degrees of Aquarius and Taurus at 12:32PM PST). There is a need to cut through problems on physical and emotional levels, and hurdle over obstacles to the best of your ability. Manage your business affairs with greater aplomb and finesse. However, the moment of the Last Quarter Phase (12:32PM PST) also starts a short void-of-course Moon cycle that lasts until 1:51PM PST. During this somewhat weakened lunar condition, Vesta makes an off-kilter, 150-degree link to Saturn (12:57PM PST). Say no to investment planning for the time-being.  Once the Moon is safely located in airy Gemini (1:51PM PST), there is a renewed urge to read, write and enjoy lighthearted hobbies. Take a time-out for a whirlpool treatment, massage or hot-tub session as Mercury parallels Chiron (8:04PM PST). Healing forces regain their momentum throughout the evening.
