Today’s Tarot Card for December 23 is Triumph

Triumph

This Tarot Deck: Lovers Path

General Meaning: What has traditionally been known as the World card points to the presiding intelligence, called “Sophia,” or Wisdom, which upholds life on this and all worlds. A more precise title for this card might be “the Soul of the World,” also applicable as a symbol of personal empowerment and freedom. In most Tarot decks it is a female figure that has become our standard World image. She originates in Hebrew, Gnostic and Alchemical lore, and stands between heaven and earth as the Cosmic Mother of Souls, the Wife of God and our protector from the karmic forces we have set loose upon the Earth in our immaturity and ignorance.

Where the Empress energy secures and fertilizes our terrestrial lives, the goddess of The World invites us into cosmic citizenship — once we come to realize our soul’s potential for it. Just as the Chariot stands for success in achieving a separate Self, and Temperance represents achievement of mental and moral health, the World card announces the awakening of the soul’s Immortal Being, accomplished without the necessity of dying.

This card, like the Sun, is reputed to have no negative meaning no matter where or how it appears. If the Hermetic axiom is “Know Thyself”, this image represents what becomes known when the true nature of Self is followed to creative freedom and its ultimate realization.

What Your Sleep Position Says About You

What Your Sleep Position Says About You

  • Melissa Breyer

Starfish? Soldier? Yearner? How do you sleep? I fall firmly into the Fetus category of sleeping positions–curled up on my side–which, according to researchers at the Sleep Assessment and Advisory Service, suggests that I am a tough cookie with a sensitive heart. (And yes, it’s true…underneath it all I am a big mush.)

Sleep scientists believe the position in which a person sleeps offers important clues about their personality. Director of the Sleep Assessment and Advisory Service, Professor Chris Idzikowski, analyzed six common sleeping positions and found that each is associated with particular personality traits.

The Fetus
This is the most common sleeping position, adopted by 41 percent of the 1,000 people who took part in the survey. More than twice as many women as men tend to adopt this position. Those who curl up in the fetus position are described as tough on the outside but sensitive at heart. They may be shy when they first meet somebody, but soon relax.

The Log
Lying on your side with both arms down by your side is the sleep position favored by 14 percent of the people in the study. I’d adopt this position if it guaranteed sleeping like a log, but perhaps not at the risk of being naive. These sleepers are easy going, social people who like being part of the in-crowd, and who are trusting of strangers. However, they may be gullible.

The Yearner
13 percent of people sleep in the pose of the yearner–on their side with both arms out in front are said to have an open nature, but can be suspicious and cynical. They are slow to make up their minds, but once they have taken a decision, they are unlikely to change it.

Soldier
Are you one of the 8 percent who sleep lying on your back with both arms pinned to your sides? Well hello, soldier. People who sleep in this position are generally quiet and reserved. They don’t like a fuss, but set high standards for themselves and others. The soldier style is more likely to lead to snoring and a bad night’s sleep.

The Freefaller
If you sleep on your stomach with your hands around the pillow and your head turned to one side, you sleep in the freefall position. You are probably often gregarious and brash, but can be nervy and thin-skinned underneath, and don’t like criticism or extreme situations. Seven percent of sleepers assume this posture, which happens to be good for digestion.

The Starfish
About 5 percent choose to lay on their back with both arms up around the pillow. These sleepers make good friends because they are always ready to listen to others, and offer help when needed. They generally don’t like to be the center of attention. The starfish position is more likely to lead to snoring and a bad night’s sleep

Your Daily Horoscopes for Monday, Dec. 26th

It’s wise to use our common sense today rather than following our feelings. The conservative Capricorn Moon cautions us to play it safe by keeping emotions quiet, but the Moon’s shift into quirky Aquarius at 12:14 pm EST encourages us to express our non-conformist beliefs anyhow. Although we are motivated by our need to be independent as the Moon aspects overbearing Jupiter and rebellious Uranus midday, the energy settles down by the evening.

Aries Horoscope
Aries Horoscope (Mar 21 – Apr 19)

You think that being more practical is a good idea today, but eventually you’re likely to give up and follow your dreams. It isn’t that you’re incapable of acting sensibly; it’s just your radical side comes out when the Moon enters unconventional Aquarius. Be careful; it’s not a smart time to burn bridges by alienating those who support you. Instead, find ways to speak your truth without starting a fight.

Taurus Horoscope
Taurus Horoscope (Apr 20 – May 20)

You may feel out of the loop today if others don’t notice your contribution. Thankfully, you’re patient enough to wait for the recognition you deserve, even if you do grow a bit frustrated in the process. However, losing your temper might be the best thing you can do now because it helps to clear the air. If you keep your annoyance to yourself, the tension could continue to grow. Just remember to express your feelings without blaming anyone else.

Gemini Horoscope
Gemini Horoscope (May 21 – Jun 20)

You’re quite focused on getting your chores done today, but you might have too much to do. You could reach a breaking point when you’re tempted to throw up your hands and walk away from your responsibilities. However, you won’t be able to escape from your commitments that easily. Instead of avoiding reality, demonstrate your persistence by sticking with your agenda. Checking a few things off your list is a good start toward alleviating the stress.

Cancer Horoscope
Cancer Horoscope (June 21 – Jul 22)

You are less likely to behave nicely just to get others to like you today. You are clear about your needs and are willing to take responsibility to achieve satisfaction. You typically might not be this assertive, but it feels natural now. Even if you’re confident that you’ll reach your goals, don’t be disrespectful of your friends and colleagues. Let the day unfold and wait until later to make the appropriate changes if things aren’t going your way.

Leo Horoscope
Leo Horoscope (Jul 23 – Aug 22)

You’re taking your work very seriously today and are committed to delivering on your promises. If repetitive tasks are on your plate, you’re ready to concentrate on them until they are done. But you’re as equally enthusiastic to jump into something totally new. Either way, it’s tempting to push the energy too far. A bit of sensible self-restraint is useful to maximize your progress no matter what projects are in front of you.

Virgo Horoscope
Virgo Horoscope (Aug 23 – Sep 22)

In an ideal world, you might want to schedule your day backwards by having fun first and then doing your chores later. It may be frustrating if you try to narrow your focus in the morning while the Moon is still visiting your 5th House of Fun and Games. But when she enters your 6th House of Employment this afternoon, you won’t likely be so eager to partake in any distracting activities. Grab the opportunity for enjoyment while you can and start your day with some playtime before heading off to work.

Libra Horoscope
Libra Horoscope (Sep 23 – Oct 22)

Personal or professional obligations may hold your attention during the morning, but later on you’re eager to shift gears so you can enjoy yourself. Scheming about your escape can be more fun than you expect, especially if you attack it as if it were a competitive game. Don’t rush ahead impulsively; wait until you feel the time is right before doing your disappearing act and following the plan you devised earlier in the day.

Scorpio Horoscope
Scorpio Horoscope (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

You might sense an unpleasant wave of energy way out on the horizon of your awareness, making it difficult to enjoy the day. Although intense emotions continue to build throughout the day, it’s not wise to push them away. Avoiding uncomfortable feelings isn’t smart because they’ll just gain strength if you do. Instead, express what’s in your heart, even if it isn’t what others want to hear. It’s healthier for them to learn your truth now than receive a watered-down version of it at some later time.

Sagittarius Horoscope
Sagittarius Horoscope (Nov 22 – Dec 21)

Although you may have to head back to work today or do chores that have piled up in your absence, the day should end on a positive note. Ironically, establishing sensible limits actually grants you additional freedom now. But, if you’re not attentive to setting healthy boundaries, you might have to take a defensive posture. Don’t delay the inevitable, even if it feels uncomfortable; clearly draw your line in the sand and prepare to hold your ground if you must.

Capricorn Horoscope
Capricorn Horoscope (Dec 22 – Jan 19)

The beginning of your day should go along smoothly enough, but someone may ask you to explain your values later. You could be resistant to talking about your beliefs because you’re still developing your position. It doesn’t feel right to climb out on a limb in order to defend an opinion that’s still unformed. Although you may have a good reason to stay quiet, your silence can be misinterpreted. Hiding is not the best strategy now, for it encourages others to misread your intentions.

Aquarius Horoscope
Aquarius Horoscope (Jan 20 – Feb 18)

The mood-setting Moon’s shift into your intellectual sign today is a reminder that your emotions are more important than you think. However, there’s nothing you need to change at this time. Just be thankful that you have an opportunity to experience your life to the fullest, even if you must engage in a passionate debate to defend your position. Sometimes your feelings can be quite confusing, but now you have something useful to learn from them.

Pisces Horoscope
Pisces Horoscope (Feb 19 – Mar 20)

You may be feeling stress that arises from your unrealistic desire to avoid your current responsibilities. Although you might dream of escaping to an exotic place, you could become upset when you realize that it’s impossible to take time off now. Don’t ignore your frustration or it can turn into anger and erupt again in a few days. Instead, find a way to slip away for a while, even if it’s only with an intriguing movie or a good book.

Your Love Horoscopes for the Week of December 26th

Creating harmony in relationships, both new and old, can be difficult in this last week of 2011. Amorous Venus in freedom-loving Aquarius wants to experiment while passionate Mars in practical Virgo prefers to stick to familiar patterns. Flexibility is needed to maintain peace and end the year on a happy note.

Aries Horoscope
Aries Horoscope (Mar 21 – Apr 19)

Rest up on Friday night while the Moon is visiting your sleepy 12th house, because it’s firing into your sign early on Saturday morning and turning up the heat in your personal life. You’re hungry for new experiences and are not likely to be thrilled by a traditional and totally predictable New Year’s Eve. Do your best to avoid pushing reluctant individuals to make changes, because they might push back even harder. A less aggressive approach allows others to compromise and meet you halfway.

Taurus Horoscope
Taurus Horoscope (Apr 20 – May 20)

Friends can warm your heart on Thursday and Friday with the sweet and tender Pisces Moon’s presence in your 11th House of Groups. But you may either be too tired, shy or disinterested to be a hardy partier during the rest of the weekend. A lunar transit in your ultra-private 12th house could have you sitting on the sidelines, or you may simply decide that quiet time with a few trusted people is the best way to ring in the New Year.

Gemini Horoscope
Gemini Horoscope (May 21 – Jun 20)

Fast talking is fun this weekend, but there’s a risk of rubbing someone the wrong way on Saturday night. Your chatty planet Mercury crashes into a stressful square with combative Mars, which can turn a minor difference of perspective into a major fight. If you’re irritated or impatient, take a break and consider whether you want to argue about a petty detail that can make the night memorable in the wrong way. Your best move might be to smile and shake it off or, if that’s not possible, simply walk away.

Cancer Horoscope
Cancer Horoscope (June 21 – Jul 22)

You can cuddle up in the comfort of sweet feelings on Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday with the Moon swimming in sister Water sign Pisces. But the mood and tempo change on Saturday morning with a lunar shift into impetuous Aries. If you’re ready for a raucous time, you will love the high intensity atmosphere. But if you don’t like to be rushed in the pursuit of pleasure, seek out the company of quieter folks who are happy to slip away to someplace more private.

Leo Horoscope
Leo Horoscope (Jul 23 – Aug 22)

The Moon rockets into rambunctious Aries on Saturday to put some passion into your weekend. You’re looking for a lively partner and exciting experiences to ring in the new year. Sticking to the usual routine is not likely to be your idea of fun, so make this a time to experiment. Just don’t let unnecessary impatience, a petty disagreement or elaborate plans dowse the fires of discovery that are driving you. Maintaining your generosity of spirit and wicked sense of humor enables you to shine as the life of the party.

Virgo Horoscope
Virgo Horoscope (Aug 23 – Sep 22)

Relationships might be especially complicated this week. The Moon’s presence in peaceful Pisces and your 7th House of Partners brings some tender moments and spurs romantic dreams on Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday. But then a lunar transit into impatient Aries and your 8th House of Deep Sharing on Saturday morning can detonate some emotional bombs. This could be amazing if you’re ready for passion, yet it requires your willingness to take risks to fully enjoy it.

Libra Horoscope
Libra Horoscope (Sep 23 – Oct 22)

Things are heating up just in time to celebrate the New Year. The mood-setting Moon enters fiery Aries and your 7th House of Partners on Saturday morning to provoke excitement and increase your readiness for new experiences. It helps to have a dynamic partner who is ready for anything to join you in riding this rising wave of passion. Whether you’re into it for one night or for eternity, there are few limits to how far you’re willing to go. Have fun exploring new territory, but don’t get too close to the edge.

Scorpio Horoscope
Scorpio Horoscope (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

You could have a delicious time this week with the imaginative Pisces Moon’s visit to your 5th House of Romance on Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday. It seems like you can turn fantasies into reality, giving you the surreal feeling that you’re starring in a movie. Promises made and expectations raised encounter a stiff dose of reality starting on Saturday morning. If you’re disappointed over the weekend, don’t allow it to lead to a petty fight. It’s wiser to let go and head in a new direction than to get dragged into a conflict where no one wins.

Sagittarius Horoscope
Sagittarius Horoscope (Nov 22 – Dec 21)

The Moon blazes into incendiary Aries on Saturday morning to raise your emotional temperature for the weekend. This lunar transit could ignite instant fires of passion in your 5th House of Romance. Falling in love with someone new can happen in an instant, but your need for fresh experiences might put some pressure on an ongoing relationship. Whether you’re celebrating with a partner or friends, incorporating elements of surprise could do the trick. Work your magic and create some new rituals for the New Year that everyone will enjoy.

Capricorn Horoscope
Capricorn Horoscope (Dec 22 – Jan 19)

Entertaining within your comfort zone might be your best bet for New Year’s Eve while the independent Aries Moon visits your 4th House of Roots. Whether this means celebrating with old pals at your favorite watering hole or having people party at your house, it’s important that you feel comfortable. If you’ve been the host in the past, try making the event a little different this year by adding some surprising elements. In fact, a quiet evening alone enjoying some rest and relaxation might sound like the best idea of all.

Aquarius Horoscope
Aquarius Horoscope (Jan 20 – Feb 18)

Don’t let your head get in the way of your heart this weekend. Although this is a time to cut loose and have fun, your analytical mind could get stuck on a subject that becomes contentious. Word games are fun and you enjoy playfully sparring with clever people. Just be smart enough to notice when you or someone else is getting close to the edge of discomfort. Your “live and let live” attitude is an antidote to this potential for conflict. However, a bit of sensitivity keeps the emphasis on fun.

Pisces Horoscope
Pisces Horoscope (Feb 19 – Mar 20)

You might want to celebrate the New Year early with the Moon’s presence in your magical sign on Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday. Your emotions may be strong, but your compassion and imagination make this a special time. A lunar shift into impulsive Aries on Saturday intensifies the rest of the weekend with an edge of excitement and a sense of danger in the air. Unless you’re in a risk-taking mood, seek out the safety net of reliable people and predictable places to find your fun.

Daily Cosmic Calendar for Monday, Dec. 26th

This could be a slow day getting started business-wise – if you are working. The reason is that Mercury makes a frictional, 45-degree tie to Saturn (5:03AM PST) just before the Moon in Capricorn squares Saturn in Libra (5:37AM PST). Therefore, two challenging aspects counter the urge to make a forward dash into the sunlight. In addition, the Moon-Saturn square starts a void lunar twilight zone that lasts until 9:15AM PST when the Moon enters service-oriented Aquarius. It’s okay to finish old business during the void time-period, but once the Moon is in Aquarius, put more emphasis on volunteer efforts, charity drives and joining international movements that tug at your heart-strings. Group projects, team sports and community activities are prime areas for your involvement between now and Wednesday morning. Check out the latest high-tech gizmos, apps and software programs as the Moon makes a supportive, 60-degree rapport with Uranus (10:35AM PST). Consider having an impromptu party or gathering at your place tonight – coinciding with the monthly Moon-Venus union in Aquarius (11:34PM PST). Express your creativity in the fine and graphic arts for a change of pace. If you are in the mood for romance, then set sail for exotic ports of call with a like-minded partner

the daily humorscope

Monday, December 26, 2011

Aries (March 21 – April 19)
Today you will discover an ancient stone tablet on which mystic runes are carved. Oddly, when you find someone to translate them from Old Norse, it will turn out to be a collection of moose jokes.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
Beware of Poles. Particularly dark-haired women of Polish extraction. Due to an oddity of genetic significance, they will all be intensely silly for a few weeks.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
After today the following expression will no longer strike you as being in the least bit amusing: “Friends help friends move. Real friends help friends move bodies.”
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
You will contemplate nothingness today, but somethingness will keep intruding upon your thoughts.
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
Something will start to bother you, and you will eventually have to ask someone to explain it. The thing is, some birds have very acute hearing – so WHERE ARE THEIR EARS??
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Good time to invest in collectible things you never had any use for. Susan B. Anthony dollars may make a good start. (Unlike your usual investments, the value of those can only plummet so far…)
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
So, you’ve decided to have children. Congratulations! You, er, do know that giving birth has been somewhat unfavorably compared to pushing a flaming log through your nostril? Just thought I’d mention that.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
You will be tickled without mercy, today. Oddly, you will not be able to see your assailant.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
Dogs barking. Can’t fly without umbrella.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 20)
And old friend will call today, who you haven’t talked to in years. He’ll remind you that you owe him money.
Aquarius (January 21 – February 18)
The world will be dim and grey, and cold. Carrion crows will caw at you from the edges of the world, and deep cold water will rush by in rivers without names. Ahead, on the peak of a mountain, is a glimmering golden light. Either that, or you’ll get gum stuck to your shoe. (Sometimes these things are hard to read.)
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
You’ll end up at an incredibly boring social function, soon. Sometimes you can liven these things up a bit by simply bringing along and releasing a few live scorpions, however.

I Wish You A Very Blissful & Relaxing Monday!

Wolf Graphics & Comments
Good Monday Afternoon! I hope most of you have the day off. If you are like me you need to recover from the Holidays. Oops! The Holidays ain’t over that hit me this morning. We still have New Year’s Weekend to go through. I am beginning to think the only time I enjoyed the holidays was when I was a kid. And to think, I couldn’t wait to grow up, ha! But I think that is all kids want, to grow up. Then they realize, “what the heck was I thinking?” At my house, we celebrate Yule and Christmas both. I am about ready to pick a day between the 21st and 25th and celebrate both on that day. We use to all gather on a day all together. Not anymore, you would think I ran a restaurant around here. There is a string of traffic coming all day. My hubby and I both agreed yesterday, it is great to have them come to visit but it is even better to see them leave. Then he asked me if he was terrible. I liked to have died laughing. My favorite is out-of-town family that don’t call and just pop in. Had that happen too and they are still here. They are here for a few days. Thank goodness, we have a couple of extra bedrooms. Yesterday, when I thought things had calmed down and I actually got to sit down, the out-of-towners showed up. I know one of these days we will sit back and laugh and remember the good old days. But by that time, they will have all drove me crazy and I won’t be able to remember the good old days, lol!

I hope you had a wonderful Yule and Christmas. I hope you had lots of family and friends around you (heck, why should I have all the fun!). Yule and Christmas might be for the children. But the Season is for families, the love and bond we share with each other.

Spellcrafting for Monday

A SPELL FOR PROPHETIC DREAMS

Before You Begin: Be Careful This is a rather simple spell, but you are “playing with fire” before bedtime. Make sure you have extinguished all burning things before you cross into slumber.

Sprinkle some Jasmine on your pillow, and make sure you have a dream-journal or the like at your bedside to record your dreams in, and brew a cup of mugwort tea. (NOTE: mugwort is unhealthy in large doses, so go easy, and consult an Herbal Reference book if you’re worried. Light blue candles on your altar. If you want to gain insight into your passions or your loves, burn Damiana as well.
Watch the smoke as it coils, and allow it to carry you off into the trance-like state that you spend most of the day avoiding. Say whatever comes to mind, appealing to the goddess or god of your choice to guide your dreams. I usually say something like:
“Blessed be the Lord and Lady, For they created the world, The earth to hold,
The sun to warm, The moon to guide, The spirit to dream.”
Take sips of the mugwort tea as you repeat the words, gaze into the smoke,
and when you feel yourself just about to “cross the line” blow out the candle(s) and say:
“So mote it be.”

Go to sleep. Dream away. Just remember, you don’t always get to hear what you’d like.

~Magickal Graphics~

Eagle

Eagles hunt with sight and sound, seeing eight times greater than humans because their eyes are closer to the front of their head. Their incredible sight and hearing makes them good at feeding themselves from the land while flying at great heights. They use their feathers as little winglets to reduce turbulence which increases lift. Eagles use there back talons to kill small prey while using their front three to grasp the prey securely. Their sharp beaks cut and tear while using their strong jaw muscles to crush their prey. Both males and females incubate the eggs. If humans encroach on Eagles’ nests or touch them the Eagle will likely abandon it.

Ducks

Ducks are the largest and most diverse group of waterfowl. Frequently males and females are colored differently, the males have brighter plumes, and have different vocal sounds. They prefer being in places where they are comfortable and will return to those places. They have a strong sense of community and are social.
Duck will remind us we sometimes need to return to the parts of ourselves that need to feel safe and comfortable. It also teaches us to be graceful when handling our emotions. Duck teaches us to drink sustenance from the waters of life.

Dragonfly

Dragonfly eggs are laid within their territory near the water. Once hatched, these nymphs will live nearly two years on the bottom of streams and ponds. As they reach adulthood an amazing thing occurs, they transform into dragonflies and ascend to the air. In the air, they travel with wings that sparkle with spectacular colors by reflecting and refracting light and other colors. No insect or bird can maneuver as well as a dragonfly. Flying up to 30 mph, they will twist, turn, move up and down, fly backwards, even change directions instantaneously and still will spot movement 40 feet away.
The power of Dragonfly lies in its ability to see around things by looking from different angles. Using its ability to transform colors and lights by reflecting and refracting them, Dragonfly shows us that life, like light, can bend, shift, and adapt in various ways, making life’s appearance never be what it appears to be. Dragonfly’s magic shows us to see through life’s illusions and find our true vision. It calls us to transform within our lives and reminds us to feel deeply so we will have the compassion necessary to help ourselves and others.

Dolphin

Dolphin is a beautiful, playful animal who’s freedom wanders. It lives in water but is actually a mammal that needs to breath air. It breathes air through a single nostril also known as a blowhole located on top of its head. Dolphin emerges from the water with a short explosive exhalation. Normally it reaches the surface every two minutes for air, but is capable of holding its breath for several minutes when making rapid deep dives. Dolphin is dependent on two totally different worlds.

Dolphin comes when we need to break emotional barriers and communicate truth. Dolphin will then guide us to find harmony by moving forward with our life.

Deer

Deer is a keen observer, enabled to see well in low lighting and its sensitive hearing allows it to perceive a twig snap in the distance. For the first few days of life a fawn hardly moves, hidden by the color of its coat from predators. Once it can stand, it follows its mother around to learn how to survive. The graceful movement and gentle nature of these creatures show us the innocence of nature. Deer is a messenger of serenity, can see between shadows and hear what isn’t being said. Deer teaches us to maintain our innocence and gentleness so we can share our
open heartedness with others.

Coyote

Coyotes, also known as the Desert Wolf, are recognizable by their thick bushy tail, pointy nose, and ears. In the winter their coat grows thick to protect them from the harsh weather. They can run up to 30 mph, and their call will be heard up to 3 miles. Coyotes can live in urban areas as long as food and shelter is available. They form loose family groups which form for short periods of time then break apart, depending on the food supply. This large group formation will work together to catch deer. Normally coyotes hunt alone or in pairs. In this situation, one may intentionally chase small prey into the jaws of another coyote so they both can share a meal. A good way to tell a coyote apart from a wolf is its tail, which they carry low while the others carry their tails high.
Coyote teaches us to laugh at our mistakes so we won’t get mired in the pain of life’s lessons. Coyote comes into our lives when we need to understand the balance of wisdom and foolishness.

Cougar

This cat goes by several names including Mountain Lion, Panther, and Puma. They are solitary cats who, unlike other cat species, are active during the day. They are also the most widely distributed cats in the Americas. These elusive hunters will pounce on their prey with a strong short burst of energy after studying its movements, never hesitating, showing none of its movement is wasted.
Cougar spirit will teach us to assert ourselves, and take control of our life so we can become leaders. Cougar’s graceful swiftness shows us how to understand the natural flow of our environment and move into a position of leadership.

Butterfly

Butterfly spends the first part of its life crawling the earth, before metamorphosis leads it to spin a home for stasis (known as a cocoon). After transforming, Butterfly is reborn as various beautiful colored winged creatures of the air.

This insect is extremely sensitive to the Harmony of Earth, and is the first creature to leave a damaged ecology. Butterfly’s graceful dancing-like appearance on flowers reminds us to find the joy in nature and make it a part of our life.

Butterfly enters our life as a messenger for change. If it comes to us hurt or ill, Butterfly asks us to stop keeping our joy at bay. It may take some time being alone with ourselves to listen to Butterfly’s gentle requests that we allow the natural transformation of things in our lives.

Buffalo

Buffalo’s humped shoulders and horns indicate stored-up power. When threatened, buffalo create a defensive circle in which cows encircle the calves, and bulls encircle the cows. When provoked, buffalo can be unpredictably dangerous.

The Plains Indians hold the buffalo sacred. Tribes would offer prayers of gratitude both before a hunt and after a buffalo was killed to honor the spirit of the animal that provided them meat, shelter, and clothing.

Buffalo reminds us to give thanks for what we have, and pay
tribute to the sacrifice of life that allows us to survive. It comes to teach us to reconnect with the Earth, respect all life, and honor our own divine essence.

Bees

The most familiar bee is the bumblebee which has a large hairy body, and a long reddish hairy tongue to soak up nectar. On their hind legs, pollen sticks to the combs and brushes located on their body which is then stored in a pollen basket otherwise known as a honeystomach. To fill this sack a bee must suck nectar from 60 flowers.

The males are known as drones and play no part in the organization of the colony. It is the queen and workers (their daughters) which create the complex social structures they live in.

These bees may have highly specialized functions such as defense, food collection, food storage, or reproduction.

Bee shows us we can accomplish what seems impossible by having dedication and working hard. It asks us to pursue our dreams with incredible focus and fertilize our aspirations. Bee teaches us to cooperate with others who have similar goals so we can learn how to help each other.
