How Do I Meet My Animal Guide?

How Do I Meet My Animal Guide?

Patience, patience, patience… Animal guides are not owned by anyone, even if
some might be called pets. It is their choice whether or not to make themselves
known to you at any particular time. You may ask nicely, but you can never force
a meeting. Most often your guide will reveal itself in its own time. Just
because they do not appear the first time you try to contact them doesn’t mean
you should give up. Keep trying every so often and when they feel the time is
right they will show themselves. There are three ways you can meet your power
animal or discover which animal medicine is right for you. First, you could just
wait until the guide decides that it is time for it to show itself. Second, you
could write and perform a ritual to call and ask for the assistance of the
animal that would best assist you in your present magical workings or be of help
in resolving a conflict in your life or simply ask that a guide make itself
known to you. Finally you could opt for the method of entering a meditative
state (for example ashamanic trance, astral travel or lucid dreaming) and meet
the animal in the spirit world. When the ritual technique is used, you will most
likely see the animal in its natural form or it may appear in your life through
seeming coincidences sometime after the ritual. There may be a synchronistic
conversation where the topic is of the animal, or you find a book about the
animal, images of it keep popping up, etc. When you catch that first glimpse of
that particular medicine, you will know it in your heart. If you meet the animal
in the meditative astral state, converse with it and ask its help. Anything is
possible in the astral, so ask questions and get to know your new partner. If
you have seen the animal after a ritual, plan sometime to go into the meditative
state to cement your relationship, get to know the animal and the wisdom it
represents. It is important to remember that in many cases, we are chosen and
not the one making the choices when it comes to the alliance with an animal
spirit. We may wish to seek the wisdom of a particular guide but others will
show up instead. Remember to be receptive to any or all who appear because they
all have important lessons or wisdom to impart. It is also possible that before
we can progress to our next level of understanding, we must first resolve or
overcome some underlying issues that we may not be fully aware of or are denying
within ourselves. Once you have met and began your relationship with an animal
spirit, what do you do with it? Power animals are great advice givers, often
representing aspects of our higher selves that we haven’t been paying close
enough attention to. In a meditative state you can ask for their assistance on
problems that have been nagging at you. At times, it is also necessary to seek
the assistance of more than one power animal at the same time to maintain
balance, as is the case between Badger and Deer.

ANIMAL GUIDES

ANIMAL GUIDES

Do I Have an Animal Guide? Some believe that each person has one and possibly
more (one guide being the most commonly held belief), personal animal guides
that they can rely on. Most also believe that they can access other animal
guides for help in areas where their personal guide(s) are not as strong.
However there are also some who believe that anyone can access guides for help,
but each person does not have a specific one. Believe whatever feels right to
you. Before you decide that this is a wonderful idea and that you should have
365 personal animal guides, one for each and every day of the year, and want to
run out and meet them all, think about this. I was once told that those who meet
many personal animal guides in their life are not to be envied for they are the
ones who need the most protection and guidance. However that does not mean that
you cannot call on different guides for help when you need the specific type of
help they can offer you. It also does not mean you can can’t have more than one
personal guide. I just wanted to throw in a word of warning; too much candy can
make you sick after all. So if you suddenly find a flock of animal guides at
your side at all times, look at what you are doing and where you are going in
your life. Perhaps you have some decisions to make.

THE WHEEL OF A LIFETIME

THE WHEEL OF A LIFETIME

(NE – Infancy) Everything is brand new and there is a blur between the self and
others. There is also a sense of trust that we will be cared for. We are still
deeply connected to our parents.

(EAST – Childhood) We become more independent from our families. Friends are of
great importance and we find a great many things we are interested in learning
and doing.

(SE – Adolescence) We begin to be more independent from our families. Friends
become very important. We struggle with the uncertainties of who we are and what
we look like to others.

(SOUTH – Young Adult) We finish our formal education and begin to settle into
jobs and perhaps marriage and a family. It is a buy time of caretaking,
establishing careers and community involvement.

(SW – Middle Adulthood) We begin to take a look at our life and at how we can
bring to balance. There is often a shift of focus, perhaps from job to family or
form volunteer organizations to personal interests.

(WEST – Middle Age) This is often a time when we discover that there are things
we are clinging to and need to release before we can move on; perhaps it is a
relationship, a job, a house or a grudge.

(NW – Senior) Children are grown and retirement nears or begins. We find we take
more quiet contemplative time for ourselves. We see things more in perspective
and appreciate things we were too busy to notice before.

(NORTH – Elder) We are grateful for what we have and what we have had in our
lives. We are more accepting of things and are able to guide others without
expectations of how they might use that guidance.

It is important to be aware that we reach these stages at different ages. Some
folks reach the South quite young with an early marriage and family. This may
force them into the care taking of the South before they have had the time to
really process the Southwest. Others take many years to sort out who they are in
the Southwest before they take their place in the South.

THE WHEEL OF THE YEAR

THE WHEEL OF THE YEAR

NE – It is the time of the Spring Equinox. Day and night are of equal length.
Our energy begins to build as we begin to come out of the contemplative time of
winter.

EAST – As spring swings into full bloom you feel full of energy and promise. It
is easy to create wonderful plans for the future at this time of year.

SE – It is the time of the Summer Solstice. The days are long and nights are
short. We enjoy the outdoors feeling alive, active and whole. Nature blesses us
with her radiance.

SOUTH – In mid summer we are more active because of the wonderful outdoor
activities available to us. Our gardens are bursting with the earth’s bounty.

SW – It is the time of the Autumn Equinox. Night and day are of equal length
creating a balance point between our active life of summer and our quieter more
inward time of winter.

WEST – As days get shorter and nights longer, we begin to retreat more into the
darkness for introspection. We think about what is and is not working in our
lives.

NW – The Winter Solstice comes. Nights are very long and we find ourselves to be
more receptive to dreams and intuition. We spend more time indoors, our winter
cave of the dreamtime.

NORTH – We find that we sleep longer at night. The quiet evenings offer rest as
well. We may even feel a bit depressed, our body’s way of telling us to take
inward time for ourselves.

THE WHEEL OF THE MONTH

THE WHEEL OF THE MONTH

The moons energies affect us on a more emotional level that is hidden to us
unless we carefully pay attention.

The first sliver of the waxing crescent moon represents the Northeast. She is
the newborn moon and reflects all possibilities. That first sight of the new
moon brings a sense of hope for the future.

As the moon moves toward the waxing first quarter, inspiration of the East comes
easily. This comes more often in the form of intuitions or dreams.

When waxing gibbous moon beings to assert herself in the sky, we are in the
Southeast. We may begin to become more aware of how we are feeling. We must be
careful to avoid confusing our feelings with who we are.

The full moon represents the South in all its power and full emotion. We tend to
feel wakeful and full of energy. We can use this energy to get out and enjoy
friends and activities.

As the moon moves into her waning gibbous phase in the Southwest, we calm a
little from the high energy of the full moon. Our emotions may begin to come to
balance as we see what we can create and accept what cannot be.

The waning last quarter moon of the West can at times be jarring. The moon seems
to be deserting us as she becomes smaller and smaller in the sky. Often emotions
must be released in order to be able to move on.

Gradually the waning crescent of the Northwest becomes smaller and smaller. We
are able to let go a little easier and are in a highly intuitive, receptive
state. Deep understandings may come to us at this time.

At last we cannot see the moon at all. We are in the dark of the moon, the
North. This is a deeply inner time that restores us in readiness for the first
glimmering of the visible new moon as we continue around and around.

Wishing You All A Very Relaxing Saturday! Take a break you deserve it!

Definitely looks like my mischievous Razzy, lol!

I hope your Saturday is starting off very relaxing and enjoyable. Mine is just a little noisy. Razzy (the kitten) is playing with her toy on the bed. Also on the bed is Kiki (the noisy, grouchy Pomeranian) who apparently has forgotten what playing is all about. Kiki has barked and did a small growl every time Razzy has jumped at her toy. I tell you this cat, I have never seen anything like her. She jumps and carries on like a frog. She even makes me dizzy, lol!

Talking about my animals is not what I wanted to write about today. I wanted to try something new. I receive comments from individuals that have the same concerns and questions. So I decided I would publish their comments and hopefully answers all of your concerns at once. I feel bad because there are so many comments with the same questions or concerns and I can’t answer all of them. I figured this would be a great way to address them and hopefully help you with your problem or answer your question. Here goes, today’s questions come from…….

“Hey there would you mind letting me know which hosting company you’re working with? I’ve loaded your blog in 3 different internet browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot faster than most.”

News wrote:

“Can you recommend a good internet hosting provider at an honest price? Thank you, I appreciate it!”

Thank you Link and News for both your questions. When I first considered opening a blog, I did numerous searches for hosting sites. I found a few that did interest me because they had free offers for 30 days. After that 30 day period was up, the monthly prices were higher than what I was wanting to pay. In fact, I didn’t want to pay anything. I thought about the hosting sites, I would already have to have my own blog or website. Then I would have to upload it to their site. To me, this just seemed like too much work. Especially since I didn’t know a thing about blogging. I then did a search for a site that would give me a free blog and also host it for free. I can tell you now, I try out a many of these sites. I would imagine there are “Witches Of The Craft’s” blogs all over the net that I forgot to delete. I finally got fed up with the sites I was pulling up in my Yahoo search. I did a Norton search and the first one I pulled up was “WordPress.” I figured I hadn’t tried this one, so I would give it a shot. WordPress give you a free blog and also hosts it for you. This is who hosts my blog. I cannot recommend WordPress highly enough. If you are just starting out, it is fantastic. WordPress has forums for help. You can go there and get your questions answered by administrators of this site. You can also do searches for any question or problem you might encounter if you don’t see it in the forums. Then when you actually register a blog, the tools you have are utterly amazing. WordPress offers you a dashboard on the sideboard. There you have everything involving your blog right at your fingertips. It is great. They offer templates. You can use them as they are but some are able to be customized just like this one here.

WordPress is who hosts this blog. The reason is loads fasts is because of the excellent service WordPress provides. I must mention there are two WordPress’s. There is a WordPress.com and there is a WordPress.org. WordPress.com is the one this blog is associated with. The WordPress.com provides you with the blog and then hosts it. WordPress.org from what I understand is a pay service. They provide you with templates also and everything you need to build that blog. The .org service offers quite a few more features but you have to download it to your computer. Then you build your blog offline. When the blog is ready, you upload it to WordPress.org and they host it for you. I don’t know how much they charge. Since the two WordPress’s are associated I would imagine the .org one would be a great place to host a blog. You would have to check their price.

To keep me from confusing you:

This blog is hosted by WordPress.com. WordPress.com offers a free blog and then also hosts it.

WordPress.org offers you all the supplies you need to build your own blog offline. It has to be downloaded and then when the blog is ready, you upload it to their site. WordPress.org is a pay site that hosts blogs.

Now for internet providers, I believe I have tried them all. The one I was happiest with was Comcast high-speed internet. But Comcast kept raising their prices every other month till I had to eventually drop them. Now I am with a local telephone co-op. It is a DSL service. When I use to work, I had BellSouth DSL installed there. BellSouth was super fast and also very reasonable. I think for a residence it was about $32.00 a month. Of course, for a business it is much higher. The DSL service I have was great when I first got it. The man who installed it told me the more computers you add to the service the slower it gets. My husband added a router and also added his two computers to the service. He tells me he has problems with the speed and downloads. But I have the main line run to my computer and laptop and I can’t tell a difference. It is still fast for me. The DSL service with the co-op runs about $32.00 a month. I have found most DSL services charge about the same for their services. I know with Comcast when I finally dropped them my bill was close to almost $200 a month (a big, big difference). I also had a few friends recommend Yahoo DSL but I had problems with logging in constantly. Yahoo DSL is not available in all areas yet. If you check with them, that could be a problem for you. But check with your local phone company. If they offer an AT&T service or another national long distance service, they probably offer DSL. Just remember get the main line going to your computer, lol!

I hope I have answered quite a few of your questions. If you have anymore, keep them a’coming.

Have a great weekend,

Lady A
