June 25, 2022 Current Moon Phase Digest

You can use this link to go forward or backward in time for Moon phase information. If you are curious, you can even find out what phase the Moon was in when you or anyone else was born.

From MoonGiant.com

The Moon’s current phase for today and tonight is a Waning Crescent phase. In this phase the Moon’s illumination is growing smaller each day until the New Moon. During this part of the Moon cycle, the Moon is getting closer to the Sun as viewed from Earth and the night side of the Moon is facing the Earth with only a small edge of the Moon being illuminated. This phase is best viewed an hour or 2 before the sunrise and can be quite beautiful if you’re willing to get up early. It can also be a great time to see the features of the Moon’s surface. Along the edge where the illuminated portion meets the dark side, the craters and mountains cast long shadows making them easier to observe with a telescope or binoculars.

Visit the June 2022 Moon Phases Calendar to see all the daily moon phase for this month.

Some of the Witchcraft/Magickal Correspondence Digest for Saturday

Magickal Intentions: Spirit Communications, Meditation, Psychic Attack or Defense, Locating Lost Things and Missing Persons, Building, Life, Doctrine, Protection, Knowledge, Authority, Limitations, Boundaries, Time and Death

Incense: Black Poppy Seed and Myrrh

Planet: Saturn

Sign: Capricorn and Aquarius

Herbs/Plants: Myrrh, Moss, Hemlock, Wolfsbane, Coltsfoot, Nightshade and Fir
Stones: Jet, Smokey Quartz, Amethyst, Black Onyx, Snowflake Obsidian, Lava, Pumice

Saturn lends its energies to the last day of the week. Because Saturn is the planet of karma, this day is an excellent time for spellwork involving reincarnation, karmic lessons, the Mysteries, wisdom, and long-term projects.

It is also a good time to being efforts that deal with the elderly, death, or the eradication of pests and disease.

Spell for Today – Energy Binding

This spell is meant to bind the energies around a person to stop them from effectively using magic.

WARNING: Use this with caution, there are currently no counter-spells to stop this. Secondly, there is a possibility your target can breach the barrier if she/he is physically touching a powerful energy source which has greater energy than the barrier itself.

You will need:

Full/New Moon/Sunlight
An energy source or an object of which energy can be drawn
Bowl of water – optional

First, take out a glass bowl, and fill it with water. This is used to gather energy for the spell, but if you don’t want to use the water, choose another energy source. Then, have the water reflect the sun or moon, and say:

Solar flare, Lunar mist
I call on thee this day
Bring forth your light,
strength and power,
so cast this spell I may.

(Imagine the sun/moon energy flowing into the water)

Like I stated above, this is completely optional. Now, to form the barrier. Draw upon your energy source, and send it towards your target. Once you have reached them, attempt to have your energy surround them in a bubble. Then, say:

Light, Earth, Spirits strong
Leave ‘s presence forever long
Let their powers cripple, and fail with dismay
I hereby banish your magic on this very day!
So mote/might/may it be.

Imagine the bubble drawing the energy from your target and all around him, draining him of magical resources. Continue feeding the bubble/shield/wall with energy until you feel you can release them.

Pagan and Magickal Terms and Definitions

Today’s Word is

Faeries

From moonlitpriestess.com

Some refer to them as The Wee Folk; the word “fairy” is a synonym for “brownie.” Many Earth elementals are called faeries or the fey. A deeper study is required for better understanding.

Explanation: Simultaneous images from four cameras were combined to construct this atmospheric predawn skyscape. The cooperative astro-panorama captures all the planets of the Solar System, just before sunrise on June 24. That foggy morning found innermost planet Mercury close to the horizon but just visible against the twilight, below and left of brilliant Venus. Along with the waning crescent Moon, the other bright naked-eye planets, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn lie near the ecliptic, arcing up and to the right across the wide field of view. Binoculars would have been required to spot the much fainter planets Uranus and Neptune, though they also were along the ecliptic in the sky. In the foreground are excavations at an ancient Roman villa near Marina di San Nicola, Italy, planet Earth.

Moon Alert

There are no restrictions to shopping or important decisions today. The Moon is in Taurus.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Be sensible and respect your money and your wealth because today, you’re tempted to impulse shop. “I have to have this!” Likewise, guard what you own against loss, theft or damage. This an unpredictable day for your wealth and your assets, which is why you might find money or lose money.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Today seems to be full of electric energy, and you can feel it! This is why you might impulsively do something or suddenly go off in a new direction without a word to anyone. Guard against doing something rash because your moods will change quickly today. You want some action! (No bores allowed.)

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

This is a restless day for you. That’s because both the Moon and Uranus are lined up together, but they’re in a hidden part of your chart. This could make I difficult for you to fully concentrate on something. You might also be unconsciously impatient with others. Relax and stay chill.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Very likely, a friend or a member of a group will say or do something that surprises you today. This could be intriguing – or irritating. Alternatively, you might meet someone today who is a real character. Something or someone might even cause you to rethink or change your goals for the future.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

You will bristle if someone tries to stop you from doing something today, even if your plans are last-minute. You don’t want to be dictated to by others. You have a strong drive for freedom, and you definitely want to be able to do your own thing. Hello?

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

A chance to travel might drop in your lap today. (Who knew?) On the other hand (you have different rings) – travel plans might be cancelled, changed or delayed. Likewise, something in the media might surprise you or perhaps the surprise relates to legal or medical matters.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Double check details related to inheritances, insurance matters, shared property, taxes and debt because something unexpected could impact something related to these areas for you. Check your banking details. It’s important to stay on top of things because you snooze, you lose.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

A partner or close friend might throw you a curveball today. Or they might say something that shocks you. Or perhaps you feel impatient with them? Tread carefully because why do something or say something that you will regret later. Think twice before you act.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

This might be an accident-prone day for you because work-related accidents are likely. They might simply be equipment breakdowns. Meanwhile, staff shortages, power outages, late deliveries and unexpected surprises will impact your day. Check your pet.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Parents should know this is an accident-prone day for their kids. Meanwhile, anyone might discover that they have a sudden change in social plans or a sudden change in schedules related to sports. Be smart and guard against sports accidents.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Your home routine will be interrupted today. Small appliances might break down or a minor breakage could occur. Someone might knock at your door. It could be anything. Get dressed. Be ready for the unexpected because that’s half the battle.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

This is an accident-prone day for your sign – no question. We might be talking about a physical accident; however, it also could be a gaffe – you might suddenly say something you regret later. (“I can’t believe I just said that.”) Take extra precautions driving, walking and jogging. On the upside, a brilliant idea might amaze everyone.

If Your Birthday Is Today

Footballer Lionel Messi (1987) shares your birthday today. You are a natural leader who is independent. You influence others. You’re an excellent problem solver; and you value home and family. This year is the last year of a nine-year cycle, which means it’s time to wrap up things. Let go of people, places and things that are no longer relevant.

What Exactly Is The Purpose of Your Spell?

A spell is designed to initiate change on some level by shifting the balance of energy within a situation. The shift does simply occur in response to your wish for a change: there are certain stages through which you must pass. Let’s take a look at them.

The Basic Steps:

While every spell is different, most steps can be classified somewhere in the following:

  1. Establish your need or desire. There’s no point in doing a spell for the sake of doing a spell. That’s simply a waste of time and energy.
  2. Compose your spell. Take the time to think about your desired outcome, and what energies you wish to harness to help you achieve this outcome.
  3. Shift consciousness. In order to maximize your spellwork, you should ideally be in a spellcasting frame of mind. Author Lilith McLelland calls this being in “magick mode.” Our everyday, scattered, and busy brains aren’t very efficient at gathering energies, including them into a sleek, powerful spell, and releasing them toward a goal. Shifting consciousness allows you to attain a different state of mind, filtering out the surface noise and distractions in order to concentrate and focus on what you’re doing.
  4. Raise energy and release it toward your goal. This is the moment where spellcrafting becomes spellcasting. Spells are powered by the energies held by the components or ingredient you choose to use and by your own personal energy as well.
  5. Manifestation. Ideally, the final step is the achievement of your goal.

Spiral Galaxy NGC 6744

Explanation: Beautiful spiral galaxy NGC 6744 is nearly 175,000 light-years across, larger than our own Milky Way. It lies some 30 million light-years distant in the southern constellation Pavo but appears as only a faint, extended object in small telescopes. We see the disk of the nearby island universe tilted towards our line of sight in this remarkably detailed galaxy portrait, a telescopic view that spans an area about the angular size of a full moon. In it, the giant galaxy’s elongated yellowish core is dominated by the light from old, cool stars. Beyond the core, grand spiral arms are filled with young blue star clusters and speckled with pinkish star forming regions. An extended arm sweeps past smaller satellite galaxy NGC 6744A at the lower right. NGC 6744’s galactic companion is reminiscent of the Milky Way’s satellite galaxy the Large Magellanic Cloud.
