Ancestors, ancestors, we are calling
Ancestors, ancestors, hear our call
Sing or chant the above words for at least four rounds, as you stand in honor of the ancestors to welcome them. As you do, create a simple gesture to welcome the ancestors, such as prayer hands over the heart, or raised to the heavens. Ask your body to help you create it and include some form of movement. Have fun with it but also be focused on the welcome. Try it and see what happens.
This is a way of including those humans in your family lineage that have come before you and whose genetic and soul influence has a great deal to do with who you are today, those we can call ancestors. Even your deceased parents are your ancestors.
These progenitors have experienced what it’s like to have had their energy in an animate, physical human form. They continue on with their teachings in spirit world, evolving spiritually beyond what we in physical bodies can even imagine, though some have touched this world through meditations, revelations, near-death experiences, or shamanic journeys from the point of death.
If you aren’t already including ancestors when you call on spirit guides, please do. They want to help us and do avail themselves to us of their wisdom and understanding. Don’t get me wrong; they aren’t all saints, but they understand and experience things much differently once in spirit form. The wisest ancestors are the oldest ones, yet even recent passage into the spirit world offers a considerable dose of wisdom that they are more than happy to bring to you. They also can guide and protect you if asked.
We are in a time of critical change and need all the help we can get from the world of Spirit. The planet doesn’t need saving. We just need to revise our relationship with this planet and live much more harmoniously with her cycles. And we’re doing the best we can. Just need the help of the ancestors.
If you got ’em, go ahead and light ’em because today is ‘Worldwide Candle Lighting Day.’ Let’s take a closer look at some of the ways Feng Shui says that candles can illuminate certain aspirations in your life. For starters, this philosophy prescribes lighting a pair of pink candles in the ‘Romance’ area of your main floor or bedroom in order to light the way for a perfect partner of the happily ever after kind. Lighting nine red candles in the ‘Fame’ area is believed to bring plenty of recognition and reward while also heating up opportunities to create a more fabulous future. A group called ‘The Compassionate Friends’ asks each of us to light a candle on this night at seven o’clock in remembrance of all the children who have died at any age from any cause. This day is set aside to commemorate the memory of wee ones who have left the world too soon. Today you can participate in a worldwide event that promises that you can be the light that you were born to be.

I have to admit I was a bit nervous yesterday. Lady A assured me I did fine. I didn’t blow up the building or anything, lol! She did stop by this morning to see if I needed anything. While she was here she made some coffee and turned on the TV. Television is one thing I hardly ever watch. The TV automatically came on to one of the local stations. On that station was a Baptist preacher and he was preaching the end of the world, hell fire and damnation. We flipped to the next channel and I be damned if there wasn’t another preacher preaching the same thing. On the majority of the channels were preachers all hyping up this crap about the end of the world. Their members were probably afraid to go out the door, afraid the sky would fall on them. I never hear such shit in my life. These so called preachers were pouring it on about the end of the world. It was coming soon. One had the gall to mention December 21st.
I don’t know what these so called preachers are thinking. Now I am quoting this from Lady A (she had a minor in college in religious studies & history, don’t you dare tell her I told), she said if they would read their own doctrine they would know that no man nor woman would know the time or day of the end of the world<unquote>.” But still these men are hyping it up. It’s not only the preachers it is also the media and the commercials. No one with any sense believes that December 21 is going to be the end of the world. What about the nuts out there? That is what we were taking about. The TV and newspapers make such a big deal out of this day, what if a nut decide they are going to do something that day. I am talking about a terrorist getting a bomb and blowing up something because it is suppose to be the end of the world. Why not do something so it appears that the end is here. That is what is bothering us. The world is in such bad shape right now. Someone mad at the government could do something, someone just out of their mind could do something. It doesn’t take a reason anymore for someone to blow up something or kill a person.
What has happened to the respect for human life? Truly, what has happened to it? Mothers killing their own children, husband shooting their entire families and so much more violence. To a normal mind, we can’t begin to fathom why these unspeakable acts occur. It sickens me. If I had only one prayer to pray, it would be that the Goddess get a tight grip on these people. Some them their horrible acts. Shake them till they saw the error in their ways. Then show them the purest form of Love mankind has ever been privileged to know.
INVOCATION OF THE ELEMENTS
Air, Fire, Water, Earth,
Elements of Astral birth,
I call you now; attend to me!
In the circle, rightly cast,
Safe from psychic curse or blast,
I call you now, attend to me!
From cave and desert, sea and hill,
By blade and wand, cup and pentacle,
I call you now; attend to me!
This is my will, so mote it be!
[This invocation may be chanted while moving or dancing around the altar to raise elemental energy for magickal workings.]

It’s a perfect time to start a campaign since it’s ‘Letter Writing Day.’ If you’re planning on penning a letter to Santa, then by all means write it in red ink. And don’t forget to seal it in a red envelope as well. According to Feng Shui, both of these actions activate energies of fortune and luck. Speaking of sealing, forget about doing that with a kiss and try this next empowering method instead. When the letter has been signed and sealed, place it on a table that’s covered with a big black cloth. Pour salt around the letter so it forms a silver circle and then visualize that the note will work wonders for you. Fold the cloth to cover the letter and kiss the folds while sending rays of pink love from your heart to this now mystical memo. Release the letter and send it on its merry way! Soon enough you should see your own special delivery!

Increase and decrease are part of the natural cycle of life. As spiritual author long ago put it, ‘To every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.’ Like a reservoir that is being used to irrigate the fields, learning to accept a decrease in position or material possessions is part of preparing for increase in the future.
We may live in materialistic times, but there is no disgrace in material decrease, particularly if it represents an investment in future gain — even if that gain be in the form of one’s education or the development of personal character. Likewise, the inner strength that comes from bearing loss can be balanced by a corresponding increase in inner strength and insight — as in the expression ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.’ When letting go of attachment and personal demands leads to a greater simplicity in daily life, good fortune often comes calling.
In nature, the lake evaporates to form the clouds that drop the rain that nurtures the surrounding forest. As the forest grows thick, more rain is captured for the lake. Similarly, an ‘evaporation’ or decrease in one area of your life, may give rise to an eventual increase in another. A loss of responsibility at work can mean more free time; more free time may generate more career options. A period of decrease is not necessarily a bad thing; in fact, it can free the spirit and fill the soul.
Be mindful of the lesson of young lovers: even with a minimum of possessions, feelings of the heart can bring an unsurpassed richness to life. The smallest of actions, if sincere, have value. So remain confident, for a time of decrease may actually bode good fortune, especially if you remain open to that possibility.
Let go of frustration, resistance and regret over whatever may be going down at this time. Accept the cycle, and remember what goes down must come up.
Traditionally, the Magus is one who can demonstrate hands-on magic — as in healing, transformative rituals, alchemical transmutations, charging of talismans and the like. A modern Magus is any person who completes the circuit between heaven and Earth, one who seeks to bring forth the divine ‘gold’ within her or himself.
At the birth of Tarot, even a gifted healer who was not an ordained clergyman was considered to be in league with the Devil! For obvious reasons, the line between fooling the eye with sleight of hand, and charging the world with magical will was not clearly differentiated in the early Tarot cards.
Waite’s image of the Magus as the solitary ritualist communing with the spirits of the elements — with its formal arrangement of symbols and postures — is a token of the freedom we have in modern times to declare our spiritual politics without fear of reprisal. The older cards were never so explicit about what the Magus was doing. It’s best to keep your imagination open with this card. Visualize yourself manifesting something unique, guided by evolutionary forces that emerge spontaneously from within your soul.
Elder’s Meditation of the Day – December 6
“And that, I guess, is what it all boils down to-do the right thing, everything goes fine; do the wrong thing, everything’s a mess.”
–Robert Spott, YUROK
The Elders say every person is born with free will and every person has a specific purpose to accomplish during their life time. When our life is relatively free from obstacles we are walking the path of God’s will. If our life is full of obstacles, we are not doing the will of God. Often, the Great Spirit guides us through a system of coincidences. We need to pay attention to coincidences. If we are aware of these, we often can recognize the path which God is showing us. We need to pray and ask Him to show us the path in terms we can understand.
Oh, Great Mystery, let me recognize the coincidences.
December 6 – Daily Feast
My child, know that you do not follow in the ways of those who experiment in danger. The Great Spirit has given you a mind of your own and it is a good mind, a straight mind, with strengths and vision sacred to you. When your equals jeer and rag and call you a coward, reach down deep in your own mind and know you have gifts and power they will never know about. Never try to explain yourself, but be an example of what you have been taught. Remember if anyone, including an elder, has led you to believe a lie, that you have another Teacher that cannot lie. Hear that voice and listen well. It is grace to you and it will not let you fail.
~ When you say, “Fight!” we shall fight. When you say, “Make peace,” we will make peace. ~
FOUR HORNS – SIOUX
‘A Cherokee Feast of Days, Volume II’ by Joyce Sequichie Hifler
Cast this spell to fill yourself with bright star power.
At midnight, look your window or doorway at the stars for a few minutes. Then draw a magick circle and call in the elements. Light a white candle, dedicating it to the stars. Say:
Starlight, Star bright, you are the star I see tonight I wish I may, I wish I might, be forever divine starlight. Now inhale deeply and imagine a burst of starlight filling your lungs. Holding your breath causes the light to expand and move throughout your body. When you exhale, any negative feelings and thoughts are released through your breath.
Imagine you are a star whose light keeps growing brighter and brighter. You are a beacon in the night sky, shining as an example for all to see. You are making every effort to be the person you purport to be. Your ideal and real are continually moving closer to being one.
When you are done, bid farewell to the elements, pull up the circle, and allow the candle to burn down safely.
Today celebrates the feast day of Saint Nicholas of Myra, a fourth century Byantine bishop who is widely revered for his generosity, kindness and compassion. In many European traditions, the night before ‘Saint Nicholas Day’ is when children display their shoes in prominent positions, like in front of their bedroom door or by the dining room table. The story goes that in order for Saint Nicholas to fill those shoes with gifts, the little ones had to be fast asleep. Feng Shui says that your shoes can also bring you another gift when positioned in a specific manner. This philosophy says that you can walk into excellent opportunities for a new job if you turn around all around the shoes in your closet. Simply position them so the toes are pointing as if the shoes were going to walk out on their own. The shoes should be put in pairs and those that are outdated or never worn should be weeded out and given to someone who can use them. Following in the footsteps of generous old Saint Nick, acting charitably while also activating your intention is the probably the best gift of all!

Day 6: A Sunset Prayer for Yule

A Sunset Prayer for Yule Set aside some time to meditate upon the meaning of this time of year, and what it signifies for you and your life.
the sun has set, and darkness fallen. The trees are bare, the earth asleep, and the skies are cold and black. Yet tonight we rejoice, in this longest night, embracing the darkness that enfolds us. We welcome the night and all that it holds, as the light of the stars shines down.

Day 4: Counting Your Blessings
|
||
|
Counting Your Blessings – A Prayer of Thanks Yule should be a time of joy and happiness, but for many people it can be stressful. This is a season to take a moment and be thankful for the blessings you have, and to take a moment to remember those less fortunate.
I am not sorrowful for that which I do not. I have more than others, less than some, but regardless, I am blessed with what is mine. |

If you have a set of Pagan Prayer Beads, or a Witch’s Ladder, you can use these to enumerate your blessings, much as a Catholic would say a rosary. Count off each bead or knot, and consider the things you are thankful for, like so: |
