Your Daily Horoscopes for Friday, October 18th

We are motivated to take initiative today, especially in the context of relationship issues. A spontaneous Aries Full Moon eclipse occurs at 7:37 pm EDT, precipitating change and escalating the emotional intensity. Although it’s crucial to stay in touch with our dreams, living in the present moment releases us from unrealistic expectations. Our fluctuating moods need plenty of room to roam before we try to channel them in any one direction.

The Aries Full Moon eclipse stirs emotional change, but it also instills you with a sense of quiet power. Find peace by setting a sustainable pace that gives you time to improvise. Hidden feelings are brought to the surface today and can trigger an uneasy response when they are released. You may actually breathe a sigh of relief that others hear as the energy of the excitable Aries Full Moon eclipse shakes up your 12th House of Privacy. If they ask you what’s going on, go ahead and tell them. But don’t waste too many words, as you have more important things to do now than justifying your emotions.

Gemini Horoscope

(May 21 – Jun 20)

Rather weird events involving your friends seem to be veering out of control today. Actually, your calendar may be the furthest thing from your mind with the spontaneous Aries Full Moon eclipse occurring in your 11th House of Social Networking. It’s not that you’re in denial; it’s just that you’re missing the clues that indicate there’s more going on than meets the eye. You could be having too much fun playing the role of a diplomat. Ultimately, it’s better to attend to your own business now than attempting to make things easier for someone else.

Cancer Horoscope

(Jun 21 – Jul 22)

A temporary crisis at work may alter your plans for the weekend. But don’t let big changes stop you from scheduling some fun with your friends or associates. Don’t be overly concerned about whether you can afford the time or the expense to treat yourself nicely. You are certainly worth it.

Leo Horoscope

(Jul 23 – Aug 22)

Normally, you act out your feelings, but it may be better to talk things out now before swinging into action. But don’t get lost in the details; the Aries Full Moon eclipse activates your 9th House of Big Ideas. Be bold in your thinking; leave no stone unturned when considering your current options. There’s no reason to hold back; stretch your mind and reach for new horizons. Today’s dreams can become tomorrow’s reality

Virgo Horoscope

(Aug 23 – Sep 22)

You may be high on life today, but your current confidence about your future is tempered by concerns about the past. You are being drawn into deeper emotional realms, which often makes you uncomfortable. However, you might actually be enthusiastic about exploring the shadows of your own subconscious now since the Aries Full Moon eclipse energizes your 8th House of Intimacy. The passions that rise to the surface will settle back down once you understand how they fit into the larger picture.

Libra Horoscope

(Sep 23 – Oct 22)

Relationship issues that you are avoiding come crashing out of the closet now. And although everything doesn’t necessarily go your way, you can sense that you’ve made it through the thick of it by the end of the day. Today’s Aries Full Moon eclipse falls in your 7th House of Companions, so stay with your emotional process even if you run into resistance from someone else. Don’t retreat if communication is challenging; establishing common ground is possible if you are patient and persistent

Scorpio Horoscope

(Oct 23 – Nov 21)

You refuse to be bored today as you navigate your way through your demanding schedule. Although today’s Aries Full Moon eclipse rattles your 6th House of Routine, try to get in some rest and relaxation since next week may even be busier than last week. Don’t be afraid to redefine your boundaries and set new expectations based upon the unfolding events and how they impact your work.

Sagittarius Horoscope

(Nov 22 – Dec 21)

Your enthusiastic intentions are magnified by the Aries Full Moon eclipse that shines in your 5th House of Spontaneity today. Although you are looking toward the future with great anticipation, you’re also grateful to be living in the moment. However, you might be feeling more emotional than usual and may want to address these issues with a close friend or lover. Charm is on your side; just remember to use it wisely.

Capricorn Horoscope

(Dec 22 – Jan 19)

You may be experiencing unsettling flashes of uncertainty now, but this intense emotional weather might be exactly what you need in this moment. Your reactions are swift and self-protective as the impulsive Aries Full Moon eclipse lands in your 4th House of Inner Security. Meanwhile, others are depending on you in the workplace, and this motivates you to take on even more responsibility. Surprisingly, you become more determined throughout the day to stir up issues that can create positive change

Aquarius Horoscope

(Jan 20 – Feb 18)

Tension develops on the home front as you feel real pressure to come through with your end of the deal. Perhaps you promised too much, but you’ll probably be able to get away with pulling back a little at work while you take care of personal matters. Today’s Aries Full Moon eclipse creates static in your 3rd House of Immediate Environment, but don’t make the mistake of withdrawing from communication with others now; staying present is more than half the battle.

Pisces Horoscope

(Feb 19 – Mar 20)

Your current priority is to plant your feet more firmly on the ground and claim your authenticity. Take advantage of today’s powerful Aries Full Moon eclipse in your 2nd House of Values by letting others know what really matters most to you these days. Concentrate on clarifying your core beliefs instead of compromising to keep the peace. Say exactly what’s on your mind now and everyone will respect your position and appreciate your honesty.

Weekend Love Horoscopes

October 18-20: Identity Crisis

Maria DeSimone    Maria DeSimone on the topics of love, horoscopes, astrology

This weekend it’s all about the Lunar Eclipse in Aries. On Friday, this Eclipse will crash into your world and force you to confront the all-important theme of “Me versus We.”

You may feel emotionally out of sorts with this Eclipse if you’re not in touch with who you really are. When it comes to love, if you’ve been hiding in a relationship that really doesn’t fit with your deeper self you can expect the covers to come off now.

Alternatively, if you’ve been going out of your way to maintain independence at the cost of relationship, you might feel as if something important is missing. Are you ready to let love in? Or are you still worried that it’ll cost you yourself?

On Saturday, the Moon enters Taurus and throughout Sunday sensual comforts will help take the sting out of this emotionally-charged dilemma. Mars will oppose Neptune on Saturday, helping you to lose yourself in a sexual fantasy. Or fulfilling one.

This opposition of the independent Aries Moon and the accommodating Libra Sun on October 18, 2013, at 7:38 p.m. EDT, is a contrast between self-interest and putting others first. But it’s also a Lunar Eclipse that reminds us to let go of habits that keep us isolated from others. Going it alone is often commendable as a signal of individuality and strength, yet the message here is that while engaging with others adds complexity to our lives, there’s much more to be gained than lost.

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

This Full Moon in your fiery sign is a Lunar Eclipse that signals the need to take a step back, breathe deeply and turn down the heat of your emotions. Passion is a wonderful thing but pushing too hard and too fast is more likely to produce panic than progress. The counsel and support of an objective individual can help you to let go of an old habit that’s keeping you from heading in an exciting new direction.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

This impulsive Aries Full Moon lands in your 12th House of Secrets to arouse feelings of restlessness and rebellion. You may be in the mood to break some rules, which is both exciting and risky. If you’re going to ride this wave of boldness, do something original and creative that makes you feel stronger. Taking chances in a positive direction will produce less trouble and be more rewarding than being angry.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

The impatient Aries Full Moon eclipse could shake relationships with friends and colleagues. It lands in your 11th House of Groups where pressures could rise within organizations and among teammates. If you’re battling over an old issue, it’s time to change the playing field so that these habitual irritations finally end. Breaking patterns and, perhaps, ending alliances may be the way to do it.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

Professional matters could take a sudden turn with this fiery Aries Full Moon eclipse in your 10th House of Career. If you’ve pushed too hard or are burdened by new responsibilities, you may need to seek support in meeting them. Slowing down, changing directions and getting help from others will reduce stress. If you’re initiating a bold business move, making adjustments could be your key to success.

Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22)

Plans for travel could shift with this Full Moon eclipse in your 9th House of Faraway Places. Careful preparation is a good way to avoid complications. This part of your chart is also about learning and beliefs, so you might have to adjust your educational plans to reach your long-term goals. Going faster at this time could simply take you further off course, so slow down and think twice before making a major decision.

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22)

This fiery Aries Full Moon eclipse lands in your 8th House of Deep Sharing where it can shake up a key personal or professional relationship. Don’t let overhyped enthusiasm lead to impulsive behavior because the outcome may be very far from your expectations. Reaching out and making connections is fine as long as you keep a flexible attitude that allows you to make adjustments or back out if it’s not working.

Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22)

Keeping the peace in partnerships might not be easy with this fiery Aries Full Moon eclipse in your 7th House of Relationships. It could be that you’re getting bored with a personal or professional alliance that’s just not going anywhere. It’s worth standing and fighting, though, if you can find a fresh perspective on the situation. If not, it might be time to cut your losses and seek alliances with more amenable people.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)

Your work life could be altered with this restless Aries Full Moon eclipse in your 6th House of Employment. Pushing harder to get new projects off the ground may not get them going any faster. It’s smarter to develop your skills and refine systems to make them more efficient than to race ahead without building a solid foundation. Brilliant ideas may arise in an instant but turning them into reality takes time.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21)

Your desire to play and take risks tends to increase with this fiery Aries Full Moon in your 5th House of Romance and Self-Expression. But this Sun-Moon opposition is also a Lunar Eclipse, which can turn what sounds like a fun idea into one you’d rather avoid. The point is to be a little less impulsive in your pursuit of pleasure and in your professional presentations. Be sure to lay a solid foundation before taking a leap.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)

Domestic issues could heat up with this fiery Aries Full Moon in your 4th House of Home and Family. This event is also a Lunar Eclipse that’s more about cleaning up the past than pushing forward with new projects and plans. Dealing with unfinished personal business requires a fresh approach to be successful. Persistence may be one of your strengths, but innovation and adaptability will be more useful to you now.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18)

Brilliant ideas could be popping with the innovative Aries Full Moon in your 3rd House of Information. Enthusiastic conversations might assure you that you’re on the right track. However, this event is also a Lunar Eclipse in the communications area of your chart that could lead to sudden changes of mind. Double check data and agreements with others to make sure that what’s been said before still holds true.

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20)

Money matters could change suddenly with this Aries Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in your 2nd House of Assets. This is not the ideal time to make some fast cash so be leery about any get rich quick schemes. On the plus side, this is an opportunity to clean up unfinished financial issues like reducing debt or other economic obligations. Going leaner in spending now will provide you with more resources when you need them later.

Daily Cosmic Calendar for October 18th

Golden opportunities for success and achievement across the board are moving into place as the monthly Full Moon approaches (forming exactly at 4:39PM and activating 26 degrees of Libra and Aries). All the hours before this time provide a build-up of dynamic support for your most important tasks and plans.  A subtle and yet still mentally-expansive, 30-degree liaison from Pallas to Jupiter (3:23PM) gives this month’s solar-lunar high-tide cycle some extra pizzazz. Individual and group meditations are always recommended during a Full Moon — in order to receive and transmit the lofty divine vibrations to humanity hungry for enlightenment.  Once the Full Moon reaches its peak at 4:39PM, a void lunar twilight zone enters the scene and lasts until 12:28AM tomorrow. It is appropriate to keep sending out healing thoughts and prayers to friends, relatives and the kingdoms of nature.  Strive to keep your productivity going strong in favorite arts, crafts or hobbies as the Sun makes a contra-parallel to Ceres (8:20PM) and the Moon parallels Mars (11:36PM). Get ready to put ideas into practice once the Moon shifts from fiery Aries into earthy Taurus at 12:28AM on Saturday. [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Daylight Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]

Current Moon Phase for October 18th – Full Moon

Full Moon

(waning/100% of Full)

A veil of self-absorption is lifted and suddenly you gain access to an unbiased view of others. This is a rare moment when you can see yourself objectively and become aware of whether or not what you want in your heart is actually beginning to manifest in your life. Traditionally, the Full Moon phase stirs emotion, and this is because when you “see” what is happening, you may become upset if you’re experiencing the “same ole, same ole” — rather than the things you would like. If the Full Moon phase is a disappointment, on the next New Moon it’s time to take creative action in the direction of your dreams.

The Witches Magick for Oct. 18th – Second Sight Spell

Second Sight Spell

Goal: To increase psychic abilities.

Items Needed:

Purple candle

Piece of amethyst.

Be careful what you ask for-psychic abilities can be a mixed blessing. If you want to work on expanding yours, go slowly and don’t forget to use protective shields. A good familiar can help ground you while you do psychic work if you ask nicely. This spell was originally published in, “Circle, Coven & Grove: A Year of Magickal Practice,” as “Spell to Open the Inner Eye.”

Perform this spell under the full moon–outside, if possible. Light the candle and hold the amethyst up to your third eye (between your eyebrows and up a bit).

“Moon, moon, burning bright
Help me hone my inner sight
Make my vision clear and true
Show me what I need to do
Whether cards or stones of old
Show me what I need to know
Guide my heart and guide my hand
Help me see and understand.
So Mote It Be.

Try to stay open to any messages you might get through your second sight. Be particularly alert to dreams and portents

Your Daily Horoscopes for Thursday, October 17th

We may believe that nearly anything is possible today, but we could run into a host of problems along our path. Although the enterprising Aries Moon encourages us to act on our intuition, there are unforeseen bumps in the road, anyhow. The Moon’s alignments with domineering Pluto and disruptive Uranus indicate complex emotional entanglements that can delay gratification. We might still feel dissatisfied even if we ultimately get what we want.

Aries Horoscope

(Mar 21 – Apr 19)

It could feel as if your whole life is renewing itself and you are quite eager to embrace the future. Your enthusiasm may get you started on your path but, unfortunately, it won’t be enough to ensure that you reach your destination. But dreaming about it is just the first step; you need to walk your talk to make things happen. Add a dose of determination, though, and you just might accomplish the goals you are now setting.

Taurus Horoscope

(Apr 20 – May 20)

Someone may ask more of you than you can give today, which tempts you to go into hiding to avoid confrontation. It’s crucial, though, to meet the current challenges head on without ignoring the role your consistency plays in keeping everyone else on track. The good news is that you don’t have to carry the whole burden upon your shoulders. Others are more than happy to pitch in and help when you need it.

Gemini Horoscope

(May 21 – Jun 20)

You’re more productive today if you can be part of a group, rather than having to work by yourself. Paradoxically, you may also feel relief when you are finally alone. Acknowledge the conflict between your need to connect with others and the more subtle benefits you receive from solitude. Don’t choose one over the other; allocate time for both

Cancer Horoscope

(Jun 21 – Jul 22)

Your tendency to care for others may stand in the way of your own personal ambitions today. Paying close attention to what each person requires at work could clear a path for you to become a star, even if you merely play a supporting role. Don’t be concerned about temporarily losing sight of your own goals; they will still be there when you finish with your current obligations. Your willingness to nurture others casts you in a favorable light.

Leo Horoscope

(Jul 23 – Aug 22)

Keeping your mind focused on your immediate tasks is a challenge today, especially if you are very busy. Your confidence continues to grow and your daydreams might even be work-related. Unfortunately, they won’t likely make you any more efficient on the job. Still, as you contemplate how to escape current responsibilities, remember that your increased effort now should provide you with greater freedom later on

Virgo Horoscope

(Aug 23 – Sep 22)

You like the idea of doing something different at work today or even enrolling in a whole new course of study. You might want to consider a field that allows you to discover hidden mysteries or explore uncharted relationship dynamics. Don’t worry about applying your current interest to your career. This is more about personal growth and the immediate connection to your job may not be apparent at this time. Follow your bliss and see where it leads.

Libra Horoscope

(Sep 23 – Oct 22)

Everyone seems to stir up too much unneeded excitement in your life now by offering you one too many points of view. Although this information may not support your old perspective, you are eager to see where it takes you. A bit of common sense goes a long way today. Don’t change your mind too quickly; instead allow the transition to unfold at its own pace.

Scorpio Horoscope

(Oct 23 – Nov 21)

You bring a renewed vigor to your job and are anticipating what you can tackle at work today. You feel refreshed, as if your emotional batteries have been recharged. But don’t let your enthusiasm run off with all your good intentions. Be careful, for apologies might not be enough to undo a broken promise if you overcommit your time. Make the most of your momentum while you have the chance to gain real progress.

Sagittarius Horoscope

(Nov 22 – Dec 21)

Although it’s a work day for many, you are already dreaming about the weekend. Unfortunately, you probably have too much to do, even before adding recreational activities to your hectic calendar. In this same situation others might decline a social engagement, but not you. Somehow you think you’ll find the time and energy to fit it all in. Stop and get some much-needed rest; remember it’s not healthy to burn the candle at both ends.

Capricorn Horoscope

(Dec 22 – Jan 19)

Consider your ideas twice before you just blurt out what you’re thinking since impulsive expressions complicate nearly any situation today. You may not actually mean what you say; it’s just your way of blowing off pent-up feelings. But someone could interpret your words more seriously than you intend. If it’s really important, you might be better off waiting a few days until you’ve taken time to solidify your position and develop your plan.

Aquarius Horoscope

(Jan 20 – Feb 18)

A heightened pace of activities, along with the many distractions and disruptions that come your way, doesn’t make your life any easier to manage today. You needn’t be afraid of taking a stand and establishing territorial limits. Normally, you might prefer to go along with the changes throughout the day, but now you gain more by remaining grounded and focused. Establish clear priorities and keep calm no matter what happens.

Pisces Horoscope

(Feb 19 – Mar 20)

Your life could settle down enough now to get your personal responsibilities under control. Perhaps you’ve been remiss in meeting your obligations, but today you are driven by more practical concerns. Forget the idle fantasies and sentimental journeys. Taking direct action — not dreaming about it — will bring you face to face with the happiness you seek.

Hunter’s Moon 2013 and its Lunar Eclipse: What You Need to Know

Hunter’s Moon 2013 and its Lunar Eclipse: What You Need to Know

By Michele Berger

It’s that time again, time for another full moon. The one that falls directly after the Harvest Moon (which was Sept. 19) is called the Hunter’s Moon, and it happens this Friday night, Oct. 18. The best time to view it is 7:38 p.m. Eastern — though of course it shines brightly all night long.

Plus, there’s a lunar eclipse happening, too. It’s subtle, however, not a total eclipse but what’s called a penumbral eclipse, when the Earth’s outer shadow partially covers the lunar being. “You might see a little darkening. It happens very gradually. It’s not like a snap of the fingers,” Jim O’Leary, senior scientist at the Maryland Science Center, told Weather.com. That event begins around 5:50 p.m. eastern, peaks around at 7:50 p.m. and ends around 9:50 p.m., he added.

The total package should make for some pleasant sky gazing of this cool moon.

Its name — one of several catchy monikers including the Blood Moon and the Sanguine Moon — reputedly comes from those who used the light to their advantage, according to Science@NASA. “Hunters … tracked and killed their prey by autumn moonlight, stockpiling food for the winter ahead,” writes NASA’s Tony Phillips. “You can picture them: Silent figures padding through the forest, the moon overhead, pale as a corpse, its cold light betraying the creatures of the wood.”

Chinese lore also describes this moon as the Kindly Moon, reports the Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium, and the Lakota Sioux called it the Moon When Quilling and Beading Were Done.

The Hunter’s Moon isn’t just any full moon. Like with other moons this time of year, its path — called an ecliptic — is shallow. That means for several nights in a row, the moon sits farther north on the horizon, according to EarthSky. “It’s this northward movement of the moon along the eastern horizon at moonrise,” EarthSky writes, “that gives the Hunter’s Moon its magic.”

Typically this time of year, the moon rises about 50 minutes later each day. Say it appeared in the night sky at 7:00 p.m. today, tomorrow it would show up around 7:50 p.m. For several days around the Hunter’s Moon, however, it only rises 30 to 35 minutes later. (In that same example, it would emerge at 7:00 p.m. tonight, 7:30 p.m. the next.)

Why does this matter? Well, if you lived at a time when you needed the moonlight to harvest and hunt by, it clearly did. “The light of moon allowed farmers to harvest their crops later into the night,” O’Leary said of the September Harvest Moon. By the Hunter’s Moon in October, “it’s time to go hunting for Thanksgiving and the fall. The prey is easier to find. Rather than the moon being up in the sky an hour or two after sunset, it’s up in the sky sooner…. There’s less of a period of darkness.”

So go out and enjoy. But be warned: “While you’re staring at the sky, you might hear footsteps among the trees, the twang of a bow, a desperate scurry to shelter,” NASA’s Phillips writes. “That’s just your imagination.”

Daily Cosmic Calendar for October 17th

The two days prior to any Full Moon can be considered a time-period of preparation for the enlightening vibrations about to descend from the higher planes of being. Flashes of genius can keep you busy as the Moon makes its monthly union with Uranus in Aries (12:02PM). On the other hand, this conjunction can also cause a temporary shock to the system or immerse you in a wave of surprise and uncertainty.  Adding to the potentially topsy-turvy conditions are a frictional, 135-degree tie from the Sun to Chiron (1:17PM) followed by an intense parallel between Mercury and Pluto (1:36PM). Try to tweak these two aspects into providing you with a healing touch and in-depth insights across the board.  Meanwhile, coming to your rescue is a flowing trine of 120-degrees between the Moon and Venus (1:56PM). Romantic bonds, social activities and the creative arts all benefit from this harmonious sky pattern. Continue taking advantage of this lunar rapport with the traditional planet of love and beauty as the evening hours look promising for soulful interactions with dear ones. Silver Moon Spell

This spell is called the Silver Moon Spell. Use it when you want to attract abundance.

You Will Need:

Your magickal broom

Cauldron/metal bowl

Fresh Water

Silver Coin

The spell should be done during the Full Moon.

Choose an outdoor space where you have a clear view of the moon, without any trees or houses blocking it.

Sweep your magickal space with the broom, and create your circle using natural Elements such as stones or twigs.

Fill the cauldron half full with water and position it so that the light of the Full Moon reflects in the water that is in the cauldron.

Drop the silver coin into the cauldron.

Gently sweep your hands just above the surface of the water, you are gathering the silver of the Moon.

As you do this, say the following

“Lovely Lady Of The Moon,
Bring to me your wealth right soon.
“Fill my hands with Your silver and gold,
all you give my hands will hold.”

Concentrate deeply on your needs, and focus on the thought of the endless abundance that exists. Focus on attracting a piece of that abundance to you.

When you have finished your spell, pour out the water onto the ground. Take the silver coin and keep it in your pocket until your fortunes begin to change.

A Full Moon Ritual For Energy

A Full Moon Ritual For Energy

A ritual to be used on the full moon to charge you up.

Use this ritual to bring specific lunar energies into your life. It should be carried out on the evening of the full moon or as close as you can. When calling for help to finish things left undone, but you can use the same method and much of the ritual for any of the full moons. You can also use this ritual without focusing on a specific full moon, for bringing plans to fruition or for an extra surge of energy when you need it to overcome an obstacle or seize an opportunity.
* Light a row of three silver candles, two of the same size for the waxing and waning phases and one much larger in the centre for the full moon.
* Light three sticks of jasmine or mimosa incense.
* Take a branch from a willow or any other tree or plant that grows near water, and on it hang three silver baubles; one should be very large. If you have no baubles, make discs from silver foil. Silver is the colour and metal of the Moon. Add nine tiny, silver-coloured bells, hung with thread.
* If the full moon is visible, use a hand mirror, silver if possible, to direct its light toward the tree or plant, saying:
Isis, mother of the Moon, your power this night bring to me soon.
Your silver radiance on me shine, your fertile light now strengthen mine.
Full moon, full glory, fill my heart, your loving wisdom to me impart.
Mother Isis, your child I call, uplift and guide me lest I fall.
(You can, instead of Isis, choose your own Moon goddess if you prefer or just invoke the Moon mother.)
* Now with silver thread or ribbons, bind the tree and the baubles with nine loose knots, saying: I bind your tree with tasks undone, Maiden, Mother, not yet Crone. I bind your strength my race not won, I take the power and it is done.
* Moon Magick *
*Pull all your knots undone, one after the other, and shake the tree, ring the bells and the energy is released.
* Leave the candles to burn down in a safe place. Leave the branch or plant still hung with silver baubles and bells throughout the week of the full moon and use the week to focus on your specific Moon theme. Sit, if you can, for a few minutes each night by silver candlelight and see yourself surrounded by an orb of silver light. Maximize the possibilities in your everyday world. You can adapt the words to suit the different months and, if you wish, rest an appropriate symbol in the branch, tied on with silver ribbon, for example, a toy horse during the month Equos, for travel and the expansion of horizons, mental as well as physical.

Your Daily Horoscopes for Wednesday, October 16th

Caution and uncertainty discourage us from initiating action early in the day, but the cosmic landscape changes, prompting impulsive behavior later on. Our irrepressible desires urge us to defy social convention as pleasure-seeking Venus aligns with radical Uranus. We’re even more willing to take a risk and express our feelings after the Moon shifts into spontaneous Aries at 9:17 pm EDT. Luckily, stepping outside of the box is rewarded now.

Aries Horoscope

(Mar 21 – Apr 19)

You’re quite determined to fulfill your heart’s desire, but you may be thwarted each time you make a move toward your goal. Fortunately, you are not so quick to give in to negativity now. Pick yourself up as often as necessary and start all over again. Your persistence will play out in your favor today if you have everyone’s best interests in mind.

Taurus Horoscope

(Apr 20 – May 20)

Your friends and coworkers might witness your stubborn side today, even if you aren’t expressing the real power of your desires. Perhaps you believe that what you really want is so far outside the range of acceptability that you refrain from telling them anything at all. Unfortunately, your discretion can make you feel disconnected from others. It’s not an all-or-nothing matter. Taking small risks will be rewarded if you’re willing to be patient.

Gemini Horoscope

(May 21 – Jun 20)

You are feeling a bit scattered as you jump into your chores with a whole new way of looking at them today. You’re not satisfied by just doing the same old thing in the same old way. Innovation is your game, but too much originality now might send you back to the drawing board. Try transforming your unconventional approach into a slightly more conservative one for the best results.

Cancer Horoscope

(Jun 21 – Jul 22)

Although you may be drawn out of your self-protective shell today, you still could have mixed feelings about it. You are eager to engage with others as you share your deepest feelings, yet simultaneously wish you had more privacy. Even if you find it difficult to let go of your fear of being judged, this is a great opportunity to stretch outside of your comfort zone. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Leo Horoscope

(Jul 23 – Aug 22)

You might be feeling even more reclusive than others realize today. Everyone else thinks you are fully engaged, but you are actually keeping your most passionate emotions hidden. There is no need to satisfy anyone else’s expectations of you now. Be true to yourself and take whatever personal time you need. Sometimes you just have to work things out on your own.

Virgo Horoscope

(Aug 23 – Sep 22)

It’s tricky to keep your emotions in check today. Logically, you know what to do, but something motivates you to take a different course of action that brings you dangerously close to the edge of rebellion. Don’t waste too much energy doubting yourself now. Instead, speak up and surprise someone by asking for something you really want, even if it’s out of character for you. Be brave and let the words fall out.

Libra Horoscope

(Sep 23 – Oct 22)

A simple relationship issue is intensified today when someone lays his or her values on the line and then impatiently waits for your response. However, you are of mixed emotions now; although your key planet Venus is activating non-conformist Uranus, you’re still feeling some self-restraint. Your indecision may be insurmountable, so it might be wise to let the other person decide for you both. Choosing compromise over conflict is often your best instinct.

Scorpio Horoscope

(Oct 23 – Nov 21)

Someone might be pushing you into a situation against your will and you don’t like it one tiny bit. Events are unfolding too quickly and you resent being coerced. Although you seem willing to go along with the plan today, you may be cooking up your own resistance so you can plant your feet when the time is right. Don’t react too quickly, for your position will only increase in strength if you delay your response a little while longer.

Sagittarius Horoscope

(Nov 22 – Dec 21)

It may feel like a playday today, but behind the excitement lurks a more serious tone. Nevertheless, delicious Venus in your fun-loving sign is zapped by electrical Uranus, drawing your attention away from work and toward social pleasures. But you’re also quite aware that you have obligations that need to be taken care of before you go out and enjoy yourself. Normally, you are the one who tells others to lighten up and have fun, but now you should remind yourself.

Capricorn Horoscope

(Dec 22 – Jan 19)

You might be caught between two opposing ways of responding to your current circumstances. On one hand, you want to reward yourself for your hard work. There are treats already waiting for you and it would be very easy to take advantage of what’s being offered. On the other hand, you may not be able to forget about your responsibilities, even if you have completed your chores. Indulge yourself for a change; you can always tie up any loose ends tomorrow.

Aquarius Horoscope

(Jan 20 – Feb 18)

Nearly everyone will find you more sociable and charming today, and you can use this secret weapon to move closer to your goals. Your key planet Uranus electrifies sweet Venus, putting a high-frequency buzz into the atmosphere. Unfortunately, someone might try to prevent you from having the fun you know you deserve. Acknowledge the resistance you perceive from others and take their feelings into consideration before charging ahead with your unconventional activities. The pleasure may still be well worth the consequences.

Pisces Horoscope

(Feb 19 – Mar 20)

Take a leap of faith today and risk exposing your dreams to the outer world; your timing couldn’t be better. But don’t give up if you also receive a strong reality check in the process. Keep in mind that some of your fantasies may be better left unrealized. Nevertheless, others are unusually receptive to your ideas now, so move forward with your plans while you can. Step out of your imagination and into your future.

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aries Horoscopes (Oct. 18th)

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aries Horoscopes

Discover the energies at play for your sign during this fiery Full Moon…

Jeff Jawer    Jeff Jawer on the topics of lunar eclipse, horoscopes, full moon, eclipse, astrology, aries

Daily Cosmic Calendar for October 16th

The early trine of the Moon in Pisces to Jupiter in Cancer (12:16AM) sounds delightful and has an exuberant nature built into it. In addition, it creates a Grand Triangle in water signs since the Moon is coming from a similar trine to Mercury in Scorpio several hours earlier.  However, this unique geometric formation in the sky may not easily materialize into magnificence due to the start of a void-of-course lunar cycle as the Moon-Jupiter contact becomes exact (12:16AM). This lunar uncertainty time-period lasts for 18 hours until 6:19PM when the Moon darts into fiery Aries. Completing odd jobs and old projects is the right thing to do during an extensive void lunar cycle — especially when the Moon is transiting through the last sign of the zodiac.  During the void time-span, Venus becomes the active planetary player in our solar system by forming a square to Chiron (7:30AM) and a trine to Uranus (3:05PM). The Venus square to Chiron is a reminder to keep studying matters related to holistic healing while the trine to Uranus opens the gates of genius in arts and crafts.  Once the Moon enters Aries (6:19PM), it is an opportune time of the month to strengthen your leadership skills and tap into your assertive demeanor. Start tuning into the potent Full Moon that occurs on Friday. [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Daylight Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]
