Feng Shui News for Nov. 15th – ‘Clean Your Refrigerator Day’

Today’s advice is well worth repeating. It’s ‘Clean Your Refrigerator Day’ and Feng Shui says that a clean and well-organized refrigerator filled with an abundance of healthy foods also attracts wealth. As will stacking and rolling nine one dollar bills, tying them with a purple ribbon and putting them in the back of your refrigerator. This cure brings you cold, hard cash, but never put this wad in the freezer, as you don’t want your assets to do the same.

Daily Feng Shui News for Nov. 12 – ‘National Young Reader’s Day’

On ‘National Young Reader’s Day’ Feng Shui underscores the importance of placing books in a baby’s nursery. No child is ever too young for books and no nursery should ever be without them. The ideal bookshelf is made of wood, since that element supports healthy growth. Tall bookshelves are additionally believed to incite a passion for learning. For optimal results, do be sure to keep the books organized and dust and clutter free.

Feng Shui News for Nov. 5th – ‘Gunpowder Day’ & ‘Guy Fawkes Day’

It’s getting hot in here as we take a look at ‘Gunpowder Day’ and ‘Guy Fawkes Day.’ The Gunpowder Conspirators were a group that in 1605 plotted to blow up the British Houses of Parliament while the King of England and his supporters were in the buildings. They only thing that got blown was their plan, as it was foiled right as Fawkes was about to ignite the gunpowder. People in Great Britain still celebrate this day with bonfires and fireworks. Feng Shui says hanging a string of faux fireworks in the ‘Fame’ (fire element) area of the main floor will ignite your own ambitions and bring you a fair amount of recognition and rewards. This time around, it will be your reputation that will blow up.

Daily Feng Shui News for Oct. 17th – ‘Black Poetry Day’

On ‘Black Poetry Day’ I want to share an affirmation of sorts pulled from one of my favorite Langston Hughes poems. I kept this quote by my bed while growing up and even now I still refer to it, especially when I find myself getting a bit off kilter. Here is the poem ‘Motto’ in full: ‘I play it cool, I dig all jive, That’s the reason I stay alive. My motto, As I live and learn, Is dig and be dug in return.’ I dig this. I hope that you do too.

Daily Feng Shui News for Oct. 15th – ‘Love Your Body Day’

Today’s ‘Love Your Body Day’ is a national day of action to speak out in support of ads and images of women that are not offensive, harmful or disrespectful. According to reflexology (foot massage therapy) each part of your body corresponds to a spot on the soles of your feet, and by massaging your feet you can stimulate a healthy flow of Chi or good energy. Reflexology says that the toes are linked with many areas of the head. The heel, on the other hand, connects with the lower back, pelvis and sciatic nerve. By giving yourself a gentle foot massage (or having someone else do it for you), you’re giving your body a chance to balance and remove blockages. Gently press and rub the soles of your feet for a few minutes each day to reduce tension and improve your overall health. Love your body this way today and it will love you back for a whole bunch of tomorrows.

Daily Feng Shui News for Oct. 14th – ‘Columbus Day’

‘In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue,’ or so goes that famous little ditty. But if you captain your own sailing ship on this ‘Columbus Day’ you just might have a lot more to celebrate. According to Feng Shui, the sailing ship brings wealth from both wind and water. This tradition advises positioning a small replica of a sailing ship by the front entryway facing into your house in order to welcome treasures untold. Speaking of loot, fill your ship with faux gold or crystals that resemble precious gems and you’ll soon be flooded with fortune, prosperity and luck.

Mums the word today, as the chrysanthemum is the floral most associated with October. In Eastern philosophy the mum has long been favored, as they are said to convey so much strong yang energy that they can instantly attract fortune and luck. Daily Feng Shui News for Sept. 17th – 'Time's Up Day'

Today’s ‘Time’s Up Day’ reminds me to tell you about timekeepers and Feng Shui. This tradition says that you should never gift anyone with a watch or any other type of timepiece, as you’re basically wishing them limited time in their lives. You also need to be careful where you position clocks in your household, office and bedroom. Hanging clocks on any of the walls that would be considered within the confines of the Bagua map (the map we use to locate major life aspirations) will bring limiting energies to those same spaces and intentions. Rather, keep clocks in innocuous places to limit the limits that they can attract.

Feng Shui News for August 31 – 'Love Litigating Lawyers Day'

I’m guessing that it was a lawyer who first declared this ‘Love Litigating Lawyers Day’ because I don’t know many people who feel that same way, myself included. But, just in case you’re involved in a legal affair and could use a cosmic assist in the courtroom, you can say this affirmation both silently and aloud in order to sway the outcome your way. Say this at least nine times throughout any day: ‘The inspiration of the Almighty shall be my defense and I shall have plenty of silver.’

Feng Shui News for Aug. 23 – 'Pluto Demoted Day'

I don’t care what anyone says, Pluto will always be a full-fledged planet to me. If you feel the same, then disregard today’s ‘Pluto Demoted Day’ energies and celebrate that power of that planet. One way to invite its powerful energies of into your life is to find an image of Pluto’s glyph and then replicate it in cornmeal on the threshold of your front entryway. If your entry is a part of common property then sweep the cornmeal up after a day but if your front door faces outdoors, then just allow the cornmeal to organically blow away with the wind. This is an ancient and powerful way to invite the power of Pluto into your life.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for Aug. 17: "Leo & The Sun"

If you’re an astrology aficionado like me, you know that we are now traveling through Leo, the zodiac sign most associated with the sun. In ancient times the Sun was worshipped as a god and was considered the giver of all life. The sun is said to be able to bring leadership, pride, ambition, confidence and high energy. Feng Shui says that we can enjoy all those blessings simply by representing some symbol of the sun in the ‘Fame’ area of home or office. Daily Feng Shui News for Aug. 13th – 'Festival of the Double Sevens'

Today celebrates the ‘Festival of the Double Sevens,’ which is also known as ‘Chinese Valentine’s Day,’ a day that falls on the seventh day of the seventh month on the Chinese calendar. One of the most common and powerful Feng Shui cures to enact on this day is to place an image of the Dragon/Phoenix in the ‘Romance’ corner of your bedroom. Considered by this tradition to be the perfect couple, when paired together these auspicious celestial animals complement and support one another as true life partners. Therefore, joining them in that same romantic space can strengthen or even rekindle a relationship while also promising to improve and sweeten married life. But these beneficial energies don’t just bless existing couples only. If you’re single and looking for love, placing this image in the ‘Romance’ area of your living spaces will greatly increase your ‘marriage luck.’ This is the perfect day to call on this couple so that you too can become a part of a blissful one.

The birthstone most associated with August is the peridot, a beautiful green gemstone that is sometimes mistaken as an emerald. According to ancient traditions, wearing a peridot close to the skin will reduce stress of all sorts while also freeing the mind from anger and guilt. It has also long been believed that wearing peridot jewelry can slow the aging process while increasing endurance, confidence and self-esteem. This gemstone brings those blessings even if you weren’t born in August, so if this information rings true, then this might just be the most perfect jewelry for you.
