This is a time to rest, reevaluate and reflect, pulling back into yourself to reconnect with inner sources of strength. Now is not a time to initiate anything new. You Will Need:
2 Bowls warm water
The Spell:
Bless or empower the water as you see fit… Lie upon the bare earth (if not possible, floor is OK).
Have each hand in a separate bowl of warm water, arms stretched out to the sides.
Visualise roots sprouting from the base of your spine, going down into the earth.
Breathe deeply, and with each deep, slow inhalation, feel the roots burrow deeper into the earth. see a bright light at the centre…see your roots penetrate it… now with each slow, deep breath, draw up the energy from this light into you.
See two streams of light begin to come from the sky, one stream into each bowl… feel the love of the God fill the bowl to your left, feel the love of the Goddess fill the bowl to the right.
Draw this love from the bows into your body through your hands.
Collect the love energy from the bows and the energy from the earth into your heart, where your most personal energy is kept.
Build all the energy here…until you can contain it no more.
When you can no longer contain the energy in your heart, release the energy to flood your entire body, and shout as loud as you can “HEAL ME!!!” at the same time as the release.
Continue to draw the energy for a while, letting it flow through your body, and spilling onto the ground…relax, and enjoy the peace that will settle over you.
After you have relaxed for a while, draw up your roots into your body, remove your hands from the water, and sit up.
Take a sip from the bowl to your left, and thank the God for his love, then spill it at the base of a tree.
Then take a sip from the bowl at your right, and thank the goddess for her love, then spill it upon the same tree. In the future, care for this tree…it has been blessed by the love of the gods (the water) and it will aid you in your health.
This lamp, as with all other lamps, will contain a universal fluid mixture plus a magnet, a personal object from the person the lamp is for, or their name written on parchment paper cut in the form of a cross. You will place this at the bottom of your lamp and pour your fuel over this and the magnet. Since this lamp is being made for health, we will add the following: one Bottle Of Health Attracting Oil, and one half teaspoon of the following herbs: heal-all, peppermint, eucalyptus, etc. (a combination of five different healing herbs or four herbs and five-finger grass). The prayer used is directed to Our Lady Of Lourdes(used by the French) or St. Joseph (used by the Italians).
To correctly use the lamp, the flame must not be extinguished once it is lit, and as you say your prayers and state your desire, you must shake the lamp in a clockwise direction to get the ingredient in the lamp moving in a clockwise direction. Again this must be done daily and at the same time each day until satisfied.
Remember you can substitute your own prayers instead of using the ones stated here.
The type of lamp used to make these magick lamps is the hurricane or kerosene lamps. Like the gris-gris bags, the magick lamps are made for many purposes. The basic fuel used in making these lamps is a blend of castor oil, olive oil and kerosene. Here you will use two thirds kerosene to one third oil mixture. To this basic fuel mixture is added other ingredients which are analogous to the work being done. Here you will add diverse ingredient such as magnets, essential oils, herbs, pepper, red wine, etc.
When properly made, the lamps have excellent results. The results obtained from working with lamps is best when prayers are said as you fill the lamp with more fuel each day at the same time. Once the lamp is lit, it cannot be extinguished until satisfaction is obtained. If you don’t need to fill the hurricane lamp as you say your prayers, then the lamp is moved in a circular motion, clockwise, as you repeat your desire. The prayers which has been given to use with the lamp has always been directed to a particular Saint (Catholic influence).
I see no reason why a person of the Pagan influence can’t use their own prayers invoking the aid of a Pagan God or Goddess.
Up-Helly-Aa is a centuries-old fire festival held in the Shetland Islands. It is derived from the ancient Yuletide festival celebrating the triumph of the sun over darkness and winter, and it pays
tribute to the ancient Viking Gods and Goddesses. The festival began with torch light processions that ignited giant bonfires and culminated with the burning of a replica of a Viking ship. It was believed that the fire would dispel evil spirits from the villagers and their homes. The festivities usually ended with great feasting and dancing until dawn.
