All Signs
The Full Moon on Monday opposes Pluto, which indicates passive-aggressive resistance to authority. Oh yeah, we’ll dig in our heels and stick to our views. (This element of opposition will smolder throughout the week.) Fortunately, after Wednesday, suddenly, things are lighthearted and happy. There’s a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! Meanwhile, in another part of the forest, a four-week window of Aquarian energy will be ushered in this week. Protesters will be emboldened. Networking will flourish and ideals will run high. Aquarius cares about protecting the rights of the underdog. Mother Nature, however, doesn’t care what economic bracket you’re in.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Be patient with family members at the beginning of the week. Hey, family is forever. Whachagonna do? The big news is that this week, you enter a lovely four-week window where you will be more popular. Many of you will hang out more with younger people, especially younger people you haven’t seen for a while. You might be more involved with clubs, groups and associations either in person or on-line. You will make a lovely impression on bosses, parents and VIPs right now. In fact, a romance with a boss might begin for some of you. Grab every opportunity to travel because you want to get outta Dodge!
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
This week the Sun moves to the top of your chart where it will stay for the next four weeks. This happens only once a year, and when it does, it symbolizes that a flattering spotlight is shining down on you. This is why everyone (especially people in authority) will admire you, even if you don’t do anything special. (Good lighting is everything.) Obviously, because you have this advantage, you must use it! In the next four weeks, you are perfectly positioned to advance your agenda and go after what you want. Make your pitch! Travel will also appeal. Romance with someone from afar or from another culture is likely. Be patient in disputes about inheritances, shared property and insurance issues.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Your world will change in the next four weeks. Many of you will travel; certainly, all of you will learn more and be eager to study or experience new environments and new ways of doing things. This window of time is also the perfect time to finish a book, a manuscript or an important paper. Romance will be particularly affectionate at this time. (Which is a good thing because with Mars opposite your sign, it’s easy to fall into disputes with those who are closest to you.) Be nice. Be patient with others on Monday when the Full Moon could trigger arguments about shared possessions or money. Steady as she goes.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
The Moon is your ruler, and on Monday, the only Full Moon in your sign all year occurs. Naturally, you will feel this! It will heighten your feelings and possibly create friction between you and loved ones. Fortunately, this is a 48-hour influence, which is not too long to be patient. Plus, fair Venus will be opposite your sign and this softens your responses to others. Meanwhile, Mars will pump your energy to work and be productive. For the next four weeks, you’re on a self-improvement kick because you want to be the best that you can be! You can use this same window of time to finish up red-tape details about inheritances, shared property, taxes and debt. (All that fun stuff.)
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Heads up! This week, the Sun moves opposite your sign to stay for four weeks. This happens only once a year, and when it does, it indicates that something is coming to a head or that there is a culmination of something. Naturally, you might encounter opposition from others. (Don’t provoke them.) This is the classic time when life is giving you a report card. You see what works; you see what doesn’t work. It’s humbling when you realize that even the King of the Jungle makes mistakes. Fortunately, you are never petty. You own your mistakes and admit them. You have lots of energy to play, have fun and enjoy competitive sports. Yay! Meanwhile, work colleagues are friendly and supportive.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
The energy of the Full Moon at the beginning of the week could put you at odds with your kids, as well as create problems with romantic partners. Fortunately, this is brief! This week, you enter a four-week window where you will want to get better organized. You want to get on top of your game. You want to feel that you are flourishing in a productive, efficient way. You want to feel proud about your accomplishments. By extension, you want to improve your health. You might slightly change what you’re eating. You will try to exercise more. (The whole enchilada.) Your home life is still busy and in relative disarray. Fortunately, fair Venus wants you to party, socialize and enjoy loving times with kids. That will feel nice.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
The Full Moon energy on Monday might stir up trouble with family (especially parents) because you feel pulled between your responsibilities for home and family versus your responsibilities for your career and public reputation. This tension will be brief because the Full Moon is roughly for 48-hours. After that, the good news is you begin a four-week window where fun, pleasure, enjoyment and even vacations will be a top priority! Yay! (It might be difficult to go on vacation with all the restrictions there are in the world at present.) But you certainly can enjoy yourself with some imagination. Romance will flourish! You will enjoy playful times with kids. Welcome opportunities to express your creative talents.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Pay attention to everything you say and do today and tomorrow because the Full Moon energy could create an accident-prone situation for you. (Verbal as well as physical). “Did I just say that?” Fortunately, Venus is in your House of Communications, which means your words are sweet and charming. This week a new influence begins that energizes everything to do with home and family for the next four weeks. You might be more involved than usual with a parent. You might stay at home more. You might focus on home repairs. Certainly, there will be family discussions. You will also work hard to boost your earnings although, many of you will be spending a lot as well. A lovely blessing at this time is that Venus promotes warm, everyday contacts with everyone. Major bonus!
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Expect disputes about money and possessions at the beginning of the week. Fiery Mars in your sign might make you come on too heavy. (Oops!) Remember what your long-term objective is. Meanwhile, for the next four weeks, your life will be busy! Suddenly, you’ve got things to do, places to go and people to see! Short trips, increased reading and studying plus more contact with siblings and relatives will be on your menu. You will attract money to you. This same influence will encourage you to spend on beautiful things. Get more physical exercise (especially outdoors) because exercise will help you blow off pent-up steam that could be building up within you. You’re revved!
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
On Monday, the only Full Moon opposite your sign all year occurs, which encourages tension with partners and close friends. Rise above this. Demonstrate grace under pressure. Venus is in your sign, which makes you charming and diplomatic. (Admittedly, some kind of energy behind the scenes might not be in your best interests. If you think something fishy is going on – it is!) This week you enter a four-week window that makes you focus on money, earnings and cash flow. You will be more interested in your possessions – taking care of them and organizing things. Respect your moneymaking ideas. Ponder deeper values: What really matters in life? Do you know?
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
This week the Sun enters your sign to stay for four weeks. (This blessing happens only once a year.) This will empower you! It’s your chance to recharge your batteries! It will boost your confidence and attract important people and favourable situations to you. You’re in charge! With Mercury retrograde in your sign, you’re in contact with people from your past. Many of you are putting energy into groups or organizations because you want to make a difference in the world. Obviously, you will have countless opportunities to do this because there are so many global challenges. You have many chances to practice your magic. This is your hour!
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
As this week begins, be patient with kids and romantic partners because the Full Moon energy could stir up trouble. People will be entrenched in their ways. (They’re just being human.) Meanwhile, your personal year is coming to an end, but your new year won’t begin until your birthday arrives. That means the next four weeks are a time of limbo to cocoon and take it easy. Start to think about what you want for your new year ahead, which will begin with your birthday. Make some goals because goals keep you on track. They make future decision-making easier. They give you a sense of purpose. With Mars high in your chart, your ambition is aroused. Make this work for you!

Witchcraft Correspondences: What They Are and Why You Need Them for Your Spells
Born in deepest Cornwall, now living in wild Wales, Bev has been practising her personal brand of eclectic witchcraft for years and years.
Sarah is preparing a love spell for herself. The dating scene has been a bit of a desert recently, and she wants a little romance in her life. She’s dusted her altar, cleared her working area, and had a scented bath. Now, she carefully lays out a small collection of objects: a pink candle, a rose bud in a glass of water, two tarot cards (the Ace and Knight of Cups), a photo of a turtle dove, and a rose quartz crystal.
A few streets along, Tanya is also preparing to cast a spell. She needs money to get her car repaired. She has also prepared herself and the room where she does her energy work. Her collection of objects include a green candle, a favorite pebble, a sprig of oak leaves, a small china toad, two tarot cards (Ace and Six of Pentacles), and a chunk of malachite.
These items are commonly called ‘correspondences’.
What Are Correspondences in Witchcraft?
Correspondences are objects that are connected to, and representative of other things, intentions, desires and outcomes. They can be such things as candles, crystals, jewelry, household objects, ornaments, plants, herbs, and images of anything. As well as tangible objects, they can be deities, angels, scents, colors, symbols, numbers, and words. Even your own visualizations can be termed correspondences because they are an abstract mirroring of your desire. All spell ‘ingredients’ are correspondences. The elements of earth, air, fire, and water are correspondences. So are the cardinal directions. Each of these has its own distinct kind of energy.
Their purpose is to create a matrix to help focus the mind and magnify the energy which you release into the ether.
Common Correspondences
The following correspondences have mostly been taken from the comprehensive and very big, Llewellyn’s Complete Book of Correspondences: A Comprehensive & Cross-Referenced Resource for Pagans & Wiccans by Sandra Kines. Its 450 pages contain a vast amount of correspondences for many situations and their potential magical workings/spells. The Kindle version has a really useful click-able index which makes the most of the cross-referencing. The lists below are just a tiny sample.
Beauty
- Zodiac sign/s – Libra and Sagittarius
- Switchword – Praise
- Colors – Gold, green, peach, pink
- Number – Three
- Tarot cards – Empress, Nine of …

All Signs
This week vague reasons allegedly for the common good will be used to justify acts of insurrection; while the real motive is greed and power. (Ah ha!) Neptune at odds with Mars indicates manipulation by others. Hey, when issues are fuzzy, or you suspect you’re being played, remember: you are responsible for your own decisions. You are responsible for your own actions. You are your own person. As long as you come from a place of kindness, honesty and a genuine desire to benefit – that’s all you can do. In fact, if you can do that, bravo! Personally, I’m lucky. Where I live, it’s so laid back, if someone waves a knife, it has butter on it. Hot tip: You can click http://www.againstmalaria.com and buy a mosquito net for $2 and save the life of a child in Africa. Hello? Two bucks? The life of a toddler? No brainer. Start this year with the highest good.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
There’s good news and there’s bad news. The good news is that with the Sun and Venus at the top of your chart, you are admired and respected. People see you as talented, capable and on top of your game. (Regardless of what’s really happening.) In fact, a romance with a boss could blossom. (Old bosses, parents and people in authority from your past are emerging out of the ether.) The bad news is you might become a victim of propaganda and fast talk by persuasive people who want your support. Don’t believe everything you hear. Think for yourself. Someone might try to talk you into agreeing with them. If you think something fishy is going on – it is!
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Keep your wits about you this week. You might make travel plans for the future, especially plans to recoup a cancelled trip. Why? Mercury goes retrograde this week and it loves to replay the past. Don’t be unwittingly seduced by propaganda that is not true. It might appear to be for a good cause, which seduces you to support it. But is this the real truth? It’s important to know. “You take the blue pill… You wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill …and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.” Go forward with plans for travel, further education and exploring opportunities in medicine and the law. Think carefully about everything else.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
This week is full of positive energy; and yet, it’s prone to possible deception, dupery and dissimulation. To say nothing of the hyperbole of alliteration. (Ah, never miss a chance to feed the soul of a wordsmith.) To get right down to it, on the one hand, gifts, goodies and favours from others will come your way. You might get a loan or a mortgage. However, on the other hand (yes, you have different rings) you could be the victim of some double-dealing. Someone might cloud an issue or veil the truth. They might trick you to get something from you or your share of something. (Wow, keep your eyes open!)
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Relations with partners, close friends and members of the general public are blowing hot and cold. One complication could be that old friends and ex-partners are back on the scene. (Could be a sticky wicket.) Relations with others are warm and bonding; however, there is a chance of confusion, veiled facts and misperceptions. “Natasha?” “Heathcliff?” “No, it’s Boris!” Be certain of your facts before you agree to anything important, especially when discussing matters with those who are closest to you. Remember, often when we are fooled, we are really fooling ourselves.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
You’re ready to work hard and party hard. A great balance if you can swing it. You want to be productive and accomplish a lot. You want your efforts to count, which is why you want to be efficient. (You’re making lists.) Meanwhile, some of your ego is tied up in creative projects, socializing with others and dealing with kids. But somewhere along the line, an element of confusion might make you question yourself. You might even question your good impulses? Don’t let others make you lose faith in yourself. You are Leo the Lion – King of the Jungle. (And it’s a jungle out there.)
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
This week you seek a balance between social occasions, sports, fun times with kids and dealing with old flames who are back in your life – versus – dealing with increased chaos at home and within your family. Oy! Conflict at home might drive you to seek fun escape with others. Your challenge will be to make sure that in both areas (home and family as well as your social world) that people are being straight with you. The truth is someone might be dealing from the bottom of the deck. You are perceptive! You’re the most observant sign in the zodiac! Keep your eyes open and trust your intuition.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Your focus on home and family continues. Some are entertaining, or redecorating and tweaking your digs. (You love to do this and you’re good at it.) You will socialize with your safe cabal of friends and family. Mercury will go retrograde this week and attract relatives and family back into your world, especially people you haven’t seen for a while. Be aware that the confidence with which you will assert yourself this week (and you will be confident in conversations with others) might be unsettled for some reason. You might wonder if you’re losing your touch. Relax. This shaky feeling will be gone before you can say creme brulee.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
You’re busy! Fortunately, you find it easy to be charming, which is why people want to see you. This week is peppered by disruptions, delays, transportation problems, missed buses, confused communications and missed appointments. They are minor aggravations, but frustrating! Don’t worry, you’re not losing it. What’s happening is Mercury is going retrograde in the part of your chart that deals with ground transportation, daily communications, and your daily habits. On top of this, confusion and possible deception about money, cash flow, earnings and possessions might cloud things. It’s all a bit maddening but this is nothing you can’t handle. Entertain loved ones.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
You have strong energy this week because fiery Mars is in your sign. Naturally, this indicates a time of great activity in your life, when you will work hard to further your own interests. This is why you won’t hesitate to assert yourself among others. Because you will be more proactive and much more of a fighter for your own rights than usual, relations with those who are closest to you might be sensitive. Meanwhile, personally you are focused on money, cash flow and your possessions. No question. How is it then that something will happen or someone will say something that makes you question your right to do what you want to do? This is unnerving. Fortunately, it’s a passing thing.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You feel cocky and confident with the Sun, Mercury and Venus in your sign. The Sun boosts your confidence and attracts good things to you. Venus makes you charming and sociable. Admittedly, Mercury goes retrograde this week, which will create silly errors, mixed-up communications, misplaced items, traffic problems, transportation glitches as well as machinery breakdowns – including computers. No! Unfortunately, yes. But the challenges of Mercury retrograde are never big. They’re just irritating. Your greatest challenge week will be self-doubt and a shaky confidence. Something going on behind the scenes makes you nervous. The truth is it has no basis and will be quickly gone.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Friendship is important to you, and indeed, you are a good friend to others. However, this week it seems like so much is going on behind the scenes. Financial matters look strong. Likewise, you are confident as you have set off on a new path in the last year. But privately, something requires your attention. For some of you, it’s a secret love affair. Others might feel challenged or downcast or disappointed by dealing with a friend or a group. You might feel that people question your integrity. (This would be a blow.) More likely, someone is feeding your insecurities. The thing to know is that this dark cloud on your horizon is gone in a week. Courage!
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Many people are making demands on your time right now. They want to see your face. They want to connect with you. They want your advice and they want your company. On top of that, suddenly, old friends from the past and people from organizations from the past are coming out of the woodwork. You’re more involved with creative, artistic people, as well. While this is going on, privately, your ambition is aroused and you want to make a name for yourself. Natch! It’s the beginning of the year and you intend to sparkle! (And of course, you will because Jupiter is in your sign for the first time since 2010.) Don’t let anyone rain on your parade. Things might happen that make you question your success. You might be afraid you’ll be “found out.” (I’m navel lint!) These insecure feelings will be gone in a week

A Gorgeous Ritual for Tonight’s Magic
- Light any of the following scents/incenses: Clove, Eucalyptus, Lilac, Musk seed, Nutmeg, Sage, Sandalwood. These herbs and oils help activate the psychic nature of tonight’s Moon in Pisces.
- Invoke the open-minded energy of the Fish with this chant:
“Like the stars above, I’m in a constant and fluid movement.
I explore and develop my spirituality like a smart and diligent student”. - Take a piece of paper. Write in clear letters your deepest wish. Don’t overthink. Instead, just start writing. Visualize your idea of a perfect future and write it down in the present tense. The First Quarter Moon is a time of abundance and growth, so think BIG! Be clear and precise, whether it’s a love request, a money target, or just a dream to work towards.
- Light a white candle on your altar. Place it next to your petition and leave it there.
- Next to your candle, place a Black Tourmaline, Sapphire, or Amethyst. These crystals are great for Saturdays, they will absorb the energy of tonight’s moon and release it gently during the next few days.
- Meditate for a while. Then take the paper and paste it in your diary, Book of Mirrors, or (optionally) hide it in a secret place.

Celebrating Legends, Folklore and Spirituality 365 Days a Year for January 7 – Saint Distaff’s Day
January 7
Saint Distaff’s Day
In southern England, Saint Distaff’s Day was when work began again after the Christmas holiday. Saint Distaff’s Day was not a saint’s day at all, but rather a tongue-in-check commemoration of the day on which women returned to their distaffs of unspun wool.

From ask-angels.com
There are references which list Zadkiel and Sachiel as the same being… However, my experience is that they each have an individualized Divine I Am Core, so I’ll describe them both for you here.
Archangel Zadkiel “Righteousness of God”
Zadkiel carries the flame of righteousness and forgiveness and will assist you in releasing any forgiveness held towards yourself or others so that you can remember the full truth of who you are. Forgiveness will assist you in releasing heavy emotions like fear and anger into the light to be transmuted back into love. Archangel Zadkiel is happy to help you strengthen your connection with the Divine. He can also help you to transmute negative back into pure light, and positive energy, with the Violet Flame.
Archangel Sachiel “The Covering of God”
Sachiel or Sachael is an angel of wealth, water, success and prosperity. Sachiel’s energy is big, bright, soothing and incredibly uplifting. His bright loving presence brings hope, inspires health, cuts through negative emotional energy, depression and despair by reconnecting you with the true authenticity of your soul light and purpose. Sachiel supports with expansion and growth in all ways, helping those who call upon him to sync with the flow abundance, prosperity and good fortune.
