To Know The Truth

To Know The Truth

Take a fresh banana, red ribbon and a piece of parchment, and reflect upon that which you seek the truth about.

Light a white candle, and clear your mind. Then, on the parchment, write that which you want to know. Fold the paper towards you three times. Then, slice the banana open near the middle, and push the paper into it. Tie the ribbon around the banana to seal it up, and make sure to have a longer strand attached, so you can hang the banana. Say out loud:

“The truth will be shown to me, as I will – So mote it be!”

Hang the banana outside, on a tree – or on a nail outside your front door. When the banana has spoiled, you will know the truth in any matter.

Kozy Kitten of the Day for May 24th

Name: Rudolph
Age: Eight months old
Gender: Male
Kind: Domestic Shorthair, Cornish Rex
Home: Surrey, United Kingdom
Here is a picture of one of my rescue kittens, Rudolf. He is a Domestic Shorthair Cornish Rex cross, and along with his brother is full of mischief, as you can see when I snapped him in the top of my apple tree. I’m actually standing on a step ladder to take the photo. Both he and his brother Dasher are adorable little monkeys. Nothing is safe or sacred when they go on the rampage. They are all but inseparable and tend to sleep in a tangled heap together. It is so satisfying to have taken them from the little concrete ‘cell’ at the rescue centre.

Rudolf is in the foreground of the picture with his brother. His fur was a bit strange at first probably because of the Cornish Rex genes – they usually have curly fur. He looked like a Gremlin, but now his fur has settled down to a normal medium length texture. He is very affectionate, if I bend down and tap my knees he takes a running jump up for a cuddle.

His favourite game is a choice between chasing the laser pointer or sitting on my lap trying to eat my fingers! He also loves to chase flies around the house, and he doesn’t care what he knocks over to get them! He is also very clever, if I leave the food cupboard open he picks up the packet of cat treats and runs off with them, he also loves to play with the water from the tap in the kitchen sink. I love him very much!

Dog-gone Doggie of the Day for May 24th

Name: Tank
Age: One and a half years old
Gender: Male Breed: Pembroke Welsh Corgi
Home: Illinois, USA
This is Tank, and he’s a male Pembroke Welsh Corgi (that’s the kind without a tail) now living in Illinois. My family and I traveled 5 hours to meet our new member of the family! Every morning Tank greets us with a happy day with loud yawns and tons of kisses!

Tank was diagnosed with hip dysplasia, which is usually found in larger breed dogs, and has difficulty walking on his back paws, but he’s pulling through. He may not move as fast as he’d like to, but he keeps going, and stays cheerful about it all. Tank deserves to be honored for his bravery and positive courage! And of course, because we love him! He is the best dog for us.

Special Kitty of the Day for May 23rd

Name: Tonka
Age: Seventeen years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Calico
Home: Near Topeka, Kansas, USA
Hi, my name’s Tonka. As you can see, I’m a calico. I only weigh four or five pounds cause I’m a tiny little girl. I was born right here in the house I live in. My fur momma showed up here one day and the owners took her in. She was already expecting kittens and so here I am.

I used to go outside a lot and bug my brother, I’m afraid I never did like to play with toys that much. Now my favorite pastimes are sleeping, bugging my brother Pepper and my stepbrother Carlito, and eating. My favorite trick is to guard the can of food thats just been opened. If it’s sitting on the counter, I lay right next to it and will not let any other cat get near it. (It’s mine!)

Well, that’s about it. It’s been a pleasure talking with you, and now I’ll be able to hold my head up as high as Pepper has his.

Mom says: Her name started out as Tanqueray, but got shortened to Tonka over the years, I don’t remember why. Tonka is a better name for her anyway because I read somewhere that it’s a Native American word for strong or tough, and this little kitty is certainly both. Tonka thinks she’s the boss of the boys. Pepper goes along with it, but Carlito gets a little angry with her sometimes. It doesn’t stop her from trying to be top cat though.

She’s a very affectionate cat – she’s always looking for a lap to lay on and demands pets and back scratches if you happen to walk past where she’s laying. She’s terrified of strangers, and even freaks out when we get a package in the mail. If it doesn’t smell like home, she gets terrified and runs around the house hiding and peeking out to see if it’s safe yet.

Tonka is a little bundle of dynamite, and we love her all the more for it.

Dog-gone Doggie of the Day for May 23rd

Name: Luna
Age: Two years old
Gender: Female Breed: Australian Shepherd, Labrador
Home: Germany
Hi, in the picture you can see my pet Luna. It’s a dog, a mixture between Australian Shepherd and Labrador. Her color is blue merle and she is two years old, but her birthday is on May 31st so it is coming up soon.

Luna lives in our house. Her sleeping place is on the floor, but during the holidays her favourite place to sleep is in my bed. My dog is an intelligent one, we took her to the dog school near by us. There she learned sit, down, come on, heel, and a lot of tricks.

Her personality is very funny, like a mickey mouse and she is always “hungry.” For example she eats my socks, which I do not think must have tasted very good! Luna wants always be with us. She amuses our familiy very much!!

Luna can do tricks like “give me five,” “chuck,” “play dead” and “turn around.” We live in a little village in a house with garden. There Luna plays her favorite games, frisbee or fetch with a ball. Also she plays with our other dog Sally. In the summertime she often wants to catch butterflies and bees.

I’m very happy about Luna!!

Special Kitty of the Day for May 22nd

Name: Charlie
Age: Four years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Tuxedo cat
Home: Rhode Island, USA
This is Charlie. He’s now four years old and a tuxedo cat with a wonderful disposition. I was looking for a polydactal and his large feet with one black toe amongst the other white ones caught my eye, and so he was adopted from a pet refuge. He’s made himself right at home and is a wonderful addition to our cat family.

He doesn’t like to be held much and tries to escape but he is still very very affectionate and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He also thinks he is a sou chef. Any activity in the kitchen has to be observed carefully by him sitting on the tall kitchen stools. As shown in the picture, he loves boxes and claims them all as his.

When he gets cat treats, he bats at them with his big feet and usually loses out as one of our other four cats are standing by to get the treat. Then he gives us a sad look as he lost out yet again. He still nurses at times doing his ‘pushies’ and leaves a wet spot in his location where he gobs. He loves the upper part of his condo and is such a nice gentle boy when one of the other cats decides to join him; they might start play fighting but it isn’t long before Charlie gives them a bath and they fall sound asleep together. We all love him very much.

Precious Pup of the Day for April 26th

Name: Charlie
Age: One year old
Gender: Male Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Home: Manhattan Beach, California, USA
Charlie is our little “butterball.” Yes, weighing in at 31 pounds he is a bit large for his breed but there is just more of him to love. My daughter Jenny fell in love with this particular breed by looking at pictures on the Internet. Soon she was begging for this “second” dog to add to our family of pets which already included four cats and a Golden Retriever. After a while I began to adore those cute little faces as well and found myself researching breeders. When we got Charlie he was about the size of a grapefruit and we fell immediately in love with him. He loves to play tug of war and has a bit of a stick fetish. He loves to chase them and then make you chase him to get them back.He also loves the water. We have taken him out on the ocean several times on our fishing boat and he will settle himself in your lap for the ride to Catalina Island. Once there he will chase and be chased by his big sister Sammy, (the golden retriever) in the surf. He has even been cajoled out into the surf swimming with, of course, the toss of a stick.

If you pat your lap he will lumber over and plop himself down for some serious scratching and loving and who can resist that? He always has kisses to give to everyone, especially small children. He still chases a cat or two around the house when he is feeling playful. But mostly his interactions with the cats can be quite endearing. We have managed to snap a few photos of some tender moments snuggling and kissing our friendly felines. And oh, did I mention he snores, quite loudly, but we don’t mind. I have to admit that Charlie gives us many things to snicker about, his size, his snoring, his occasional grumpy growls, and other endearing habits too numerous to mention. But we all admit that life without Charlie is unimaginable. We love our Charlie!!!

To Bind A Lover To You

To Bind A Lover To You

Take a small mirror which your lover has looked into. Without looking into the mirror, break it into small pieces. Bury the broken mirror in your yard or in a flower pot you keep in your home. Every Friday, sprinkle the spot with a tea made from Spikenard Herb while repeating the name of your lover.

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’ for April 25th

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’
By Joyce Sequichie Hifler

There seems to be two important things to do in times of difficulty. One is to pray and the other to keep our sense of humor. The first is essential to make the basic correction and the other is necessary to balance the human spirit while things work out.

Without a sense of humor, we tend to become too serious about the personal self. It becomes all too important, too self-righteous, and far too self-centered.

At the first sign of trouble, we may want to find someone wiser in whom to confide and ask questions. And their advice may be most helpful, but it is still our own responsibility to get off our backs and do it with dignity and self-respect that will not lower our standards nor cause us embarrassment. And humor can help us do it.

There is humor in every situation if we can detach ourselves from the seriousness of it long enough to look for it. Abraham Lincoln knew the importance of his sense of humor and said, “With the fearful strain that is on me night and day, if I did not laugh I should die.”

Precious Pup of the Day for April 25th

Name: Rocky
Age: Eighteen months old
Gender: Male Breed: Boston Terrier
Home: St-Jerome, Quebec, Canada
Rocky is a Boston Terrier dog that is owned by Daniel. Like a typical Boston Terrier breed, he is friendly, alert, expressive and playful. He generally doesn’t bark except when necessary. He really likes to play with the balls and toys. He really enjoys going at the park to run fast, to expend energy and to play with balls. Every time we come home from work or anywhere, he is really happy to see us and wants to play.We think he is a very cute black and white Boston Terrier. He really likes to stay with his owners to play and he also likes to play with everyone, even with the cats. He is friendly with all other dogs, too. He likes to go for a walk and explore everything. He loves to go for car rides and going to the drive-in for watching movies. We really love Rocky and he is like our baby. He even inspired us to create a website for Boston Terriers! He is our first Boston Terrier and the first dog we have had. We decided to get him because we were interested in having a dog. We had seen some video and pictures of Boston Terriers and we thought that they were really beautiful and fun dog so we started learning more about the breed. We discovered that we found the perfect dog breed for us. The tricks he have learned so far are to sit, lay down and shake each paw. For his favorite games he likes to play, he likes to play baseball with us. He also likes to fetch sticks and he really likes to chew them. He also like to come camping with us and going for a canoe rides.

Because there is a cold winter season in Quebec, Canada and the Bostons don’t have long fur, we found it is a good thing to protect him from the cold weather by getting him a leather jacket and some hoodies. He fares well in the cold weather, but when it’s too cold he prefer going back inside where it’s warm. He doesn’t like spending too much time outside when it’s cold, but like us he likes the snow and everything else about winter.

Special Kitty of the Day for April 25th

Name: Milly
Age: Six years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Seal Point Siamese
Home: Vermont, USA
Meet Milly, she’s my beautiful blue-eyed apple head Seal Point Siamese Cat. I got her and her daughter Izzy in 2008 after my cat Samantha went to the Rainbow Bridge after twenty wonderful years with me. Milly’s former owners used to breed Siamese cats and they were moving out of state and could only take two cats with them. Milly came with fleas and worms and a big desire to be outside hunting. It took a while but she adjusted to being a happy indoor cat who is leash trained and allowed outside only with supervision. She even got used to sharing her house with two pet mice and a couple of Betta fish (the only casualty was a packet or two of Betta fish food.)Milly is special because she is a typical loud-mouthed Siamese cat. She is a real motormouth and we have lots of long, deep conversations with her. She lets you know what she wants and when she wants it.(usually it is right now!) She is a great lap kitty and has a very loud purr to go with her loud mouth. She can be a quirky cat, she loves being rubbed all over, loves playing with her catnip toys and just loves food of all kinds! Milly is very direct in letting you know just what she wants, she will not be ignored, she will meow, headbutt you, try to trip you and even poke you on the nose with her paw if you don’t give her what she wants. Usually it is food or a supervised trip out in the yard but sometimes she just wants extra love and attention which we are more than happy to give her.

Special Kitty Of The Day for April 24th – Stuart

Name: Stuart
Age: Six and a half years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Cat
Home: Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
Hello everybody! My name is Stuart (Stuie) and I am a black bowtie boy-cat. Six and a half years ago I was in a cat enclosure in a pet store where my daddy went to get some supplies. When he came in, I knew he was my daddy ao I did my best to let him know that. How I did this was to flash my bowtie and climb the bars of my enclosure. It was love at first sight, so the very next day my Daddy and Mommy (his sister) took me to my furrever home. I couldn’t be happier with my purrents and my sister Phoebe! Sometimes I get joy overload and run around the apartment at top warp speed saying “rabble rabble rabble” until I end up at my scratching post and give it a good going-over. My sister thinks I’m weird, but hey, she’s my sister. I wrap my tail around my purrents when I want to hug them!Hi everyone – Stuart’s dad here and I must say what Stuie is telling you is quite accurate – it was definitely love at first sight for us both. Stuart is a very loving and funny boy. He loves to chase his laser beam and and be petted to his favourite song. He is an indoor cat but loves to chick at the hummingbirds that come to our feeder. He is very cuddly and jumps up for a love session and then settles down on our laps for a snooze, unless something more interesting is happening. He is such a happy boy, and gets such a soft expression on his face when he’s getting some love that it would just melt your heart! We are very lucky he picked us that good day!

Buddy is a Bichon Frise puppy that is owned by Lindsey. He is very friendly and is playful. He loves to chase me around the yard and he is always exploring. He is a little bad, too, like when he chews on the kitchen chairs (Uh-Oh!!!). He is still a puppy, though. He is a cuddle bug and is the sweetest guy you will ever meet!!!He is a very cute and courageous guy and is not independent at all! If we let him out of the kitchen he will chew on a lot of stuff. But if you play with him he is the sweetest and most loving Bichon Frise in the world. He loves to go outside on the yard and he doesn’t even need a leash (yet) but he is an adorable guy and if you meet him, will love you forever!

“Show Me Some Love, Baby!”

Well I have to admit I am nervous as hell. I have not had one comment about the new look or nothing. Heck, I don’t know if anyone is here or not. I am going to put back up that “Whose Among Us” gadget for sure!

Anyway, I hope you like it because I absolutely love it! I have had my eye on this theme for a long time. Then on one of my practice sites, I sort of got the hang of operating it. So I decided to get the nerve up to try it here. There are still a few things that I am getting use too. That is why everything is so late today. I sincerely apologize for that. Tomorrow I am going to start giving the horoscopes and other related items in the morning. I use to be able to do it, I just got lazy, lol!

Enough with everything, my nerves are getting the best of me. This is one way you can show me if you like the new theme or not by………….
