Poor Rabbit!  No other animal is so associated with fear than Rabbit—that nervous little bunny who hops and leaps at every little sound. Rabbit has come to you today to ask you to have the courage to face whatever difficulties you’re having instead of running away to a safe burrow. Face your fears, examine your old “fight or flight” patterns, and determine once and for all to stop hiding away.

Book Binding Ritual

Book Binding Ritual

Items You will Need:

The Book

Plain white cotton string

The Spell:

Those of us who study the Old Ways of Natural Magick are usually fond of books. Our fondness often leads us to loan them to friends. Unfortunately, loaning a book may mean that we’ll never see it again. Hence, this book binding ritual. It utilizes knot magick. Binding and knots are ruled by the element Earth. In Natural Magick, knots are physical objects that both represent intangible goals (such as the return of loaned property) and absorb personal power. The following spell utilizes the power of the knot in this way. This ritual is not intended to force or to coerce another human being to return a book; it’s a spell to ensure the book’s return. It doesn’t affect the loanee; it affects the book itself. Before you loan the book, hold it between your palms. Send personal power into it while saying:

“By hill and wind, by flame and brook,

By shining moon and sea;

I place a bind Upon this Book

That it return to me.”

Wrap one foot of plain white cotton string around the book, securing the string with a knot. Knot tightly, but leave enough slack so that you can slip off the string with out untying the knot. As you make the knot, visualize the book returning to you and say once again:

“By hill and wind, by flame and brook,

By shining moon and sea;

I place a bind Upon this Book

That it return to me.”

Slip off the knotted cord. Put it in some secret place. As you actually loan the book, say the words even again (under your breath). The book should, indeed, return to you. Once it has, untie or cut the cord. It’s done its work.

Egyptian All Souls’ Day – Day of Anubis

Colors: Black and tan
Element: Earth
Altar: Set with a cloth of tan like the desert sands, upon which is poured a mound of sand with one black candle set within it, a cup of beer, and a figure of the jackal god Anubis.
Offerings: Candles. Incense. An offer to guide someone in need out of darkness.
Daily Meal: Beer. Figs. Dates. Millet. Barley. Lentils. Duck or goose.

Invocation to Anubis

Lord of the desert sands
Who guides lost souls through endless waste
Into a better land
Who brings the Dead
To their final judgment
Into the hand of Ma’at
Great-eared one who sniffs out
All things hidden
And from whom nothing
Can be concealed forever,
Guide us surely and skillfully
Out of the darkness
Of our own blind searching.

Chant:
Dark God of the West
Take me home
I am a wandering soul

Call and response while pouring the beer libation:

Bring us forth out of darkness
Guide us through the waste lands
Find for us the track of Fate
Like all our ancestors
Like all the souls of the beloved dead
We will find a way
We will find a way
We will find a way
Forth out of the darkness
And into the blazing Sun.

Offerings: Mead libations.

Hail to the Queen Bee who gathers the workers!

From the orchard’s blossoms,
From the sexual fluids of a thousand plant-souls.

And may you multiply in plenty
In a world that blossoms with richness every spring.

The Daily Motivator for Sept. 7 – The little problems

The little problems

The big, urgent problems get your attention, as well they should. Because  they are so serious, you’ll naturally take them seriously and quickly do  something about them.

The smaller, nagging, everyday problems don’t have that same sense of  urgency. They don’t usually grab your attention and demand to be solved.

Yet those little problems can wear you down over time. They seem almost too  trivial to do anything about, so you can be tempted to just let them continue  draining your energy and resources, day after day.

For example, a slow drip from the faucet in your bathroom sink doesn’t seem  like much, and yet it can end up wasting hundreds or thousands of gallons of  water. Eventually, even the little problems can have a big impact.

Fortunately, the little problems don’t take much effort to solve. It’s mostly  just a matter of taking them seriously and taking the time to do it.

If there’s some little problem that’s been nagging you and slowly draining  you, now is a great time to do something about it. Free yourself, one by one,  from the little problems, and it can make a big positive difference in your  life.

  • Voice
  • Patience
  • Faith

The Spell:

First get your cat to sit in front of you, completely still. Next tap it three times between the ears to make extra sure the spell works. Then chant:

”Tail of Rat,  Wing of Bat,  Allow this Cat to Chit Chat.”

You might need to repeat this a couple of times if your cat does not remain completely still.

A Quick Note…..

In case you are wondering what is taking me so long, I have rheumatoid arthritis in my hands. We were never able to get the A/C fixed in here. Thus the hot weather plays a number on my hands. It has been in the 0-‘x with heat indexes in the triple digits. My poor, old hands can only take so much. I have heard several comments from my friends around here. But if you don’t keep moving, you will be so stiff that your fingers will never move.

Well I wanted to let you know why I was moving so slow today. Hopefully, we will get the A/C fixed, the swelling in my knuckles will go down and everything will be lovely! I can always hope, lol!

Daily Feng Shui Tip for August 30 – ‘National Holistic Pet Day’

Let’s give kitty equal consideration on today’s ‘National Holistic Pet Day.’ If you have a cat who uses all the wood in your home as their personal scratching post, then put a pinch of chili sauce there. The smell of the spice will keep the cat away while your Feng Shui Fortune Mouse plays. You need only to rub a little of the sauce on the wood and then buff it off in order to keep cats away. If you have an older male cat who is experiencing urinary problems (always consult your vet in regard to any pet advice), treat this problem holistically by adding one teaspoon of white vinegar to the cat’s water. This will help to prevent the formation of stones and potentially high cost remedies and treatments. Likewise, a diet of low-ash cat food also helps this urinary agenda. Alternative advice also says that mothballs should be put between cushions to keep the cat off the couch. Lastly, if your cat comes home with a few scratches to show for his night out, then clean the wounds with warm water before breaking open a Vitamin E capsule and squeezing the oil directly onto the affected area. Just add more if the cat licks the oil off — it can’t hurt him. Go ahead and try these tips as I think they’re the cat’s meow!
