Acquisitio and Conjunctio. Mercury is a quick little dude with those wings on his shoes. Travel, luck, focus, communication are all good on a Wednesday. I also like to divine with cards and charms on this day and have heard it’s also great for runes. Another thing about this day and an interesting note is that if you are doing any kind of spell to distract, hide or mislead, this is the day for such fuckery. Mercury is a sneaky little dude. Play the lottery or lay some tricks. See what happens. I don’t judge and most likely wanna hear all about these things anyway. Great day to say what the fuck you really mean.

A Sagittarius Triplet

In fact, 18th century cosmic tourist Charles Messier cataloged two of them; M8, the large nebula above center, and colorful M20 below and left in the frame. The third emission region includes NGC 6559, right of M8 and separated from the larger nebula by a dark dust lane. All three are stellar nurseries about five thousand light-years or so distant. Over a hundred light-years across the expansive M8 is also known as the Lagoon Nebula. M20’s popular moniker is the Trifid. Glowing hydrogen gas creates the dominant red color of the emission nebulae. But for striking contrast, blue hues in the Trifid are due to dust reflected starlight. The broad interstellar skyscape spans almost 4 degrees or 8 full moons on the sky.

Familiars In Witchcraft and Paganism
Familiars are an often talked about and highly debated topic in the witchy world.
As with most things, I don’t personally believe there is a “right” or “wrong” way to think about them, but there are definitely many options. I’ll share a few of them and let you know what I believe!
Familiars Throughout History
Familiars have made appearances for a variety of purposes and in a variety of ways throughout time.
Some perspectives view them as demons that inhabit the bodies of small animals like cats, dogs, rats, birds, and toads. They are there to help a witch with their workings.
In some cases familiars have even said to exist in human form!
Some accounts describe inheriting familiars through family members, covens, or mentors, usually around the time of an initiation. Witches were also thought to be presented with a familiar after making a deal with the devil.
Others say a witch’s familiar will appear to them out of the blue during mundane activities.
During the European witch hunts, animals believed to be familiars were often used as evidence of witchcraft. Even the presence of a fly or bee was enough to convince some witch hunters of an accused witch’s guilt!

Magical tip: when I am attracting something I like to fill my candle with as much intention and yummy energy as possible. “You catch more flies with honey than vinegar is a well-known English proverb.” When I want to banish something I leave my candle empty of intention. Leave room so that what you are banishing can fill up the candle.
HOW TO PERFORM:
Begin by cleansing your candles by running them under cold water for 30 seconds.
While holding your black candle connect with the patterns and beliefs you want to shed. Take 3 full breaths and blow out your breath over your candle as forcefully as you can. Visualize those outdated beliefs being pushed out of your body through your breath.
Start dressing your candle by engraving the old patterns and beliefs onto your candle. Cover the candle with the cut & clear oil. Move in a counter clockwise direction from bottom to top to draw away from you. Finish by applying the banishment herbal blend to your candle. Once your candle is fully dressed place your candle in a fire safe container on your altar.
While holding your white skull candle connect to your authentic self. Who do you want to be in society? Take 3 full breaths and blow your intention over your candle. whisper your intention to your candle. Fill it with your true self, your true desires, who you really want to be.
To dress your candle first choose a symbol or create a sigil for empowerment. Carve your symbol or sigil and your intention onto your candle. Next your candle in the master key oil. Move in a clockwise direction from the top to the bottom to draw your true self to the surface. Finally apply the empowerment herbal blend to your oiled candle. Once your candle is fully dressed and charged place your candle in a fire safe container on your altar next to your black candle.
Cut 8 or so inches of string. Tie one end to the wick on your black candle and tie the other end to the wick of your skull candle. Move the candles away from each other until the cord is taught.
Feel the cord keeping yourself attached to the societal beliefs you want to rid yourself of. Think of various times those beliefs have stopped you from being your authentic self. For an extra boost write your list on a piece of paper to burn once your candles are lit.
Once you feel ready, take a match, or a piece of wood (everyone has takeout chopsticks or toothpicks in their drawers) and light it on fire. Really feel this part! Take the piece of wood and hold it in the middle of the string, feeling the cord connecting yourself to the unwanted beliefs BURN AND SNAP!
Depending on the string used, it should spread to the two wicks, but if not simply light those two candles separately. While the candles are burning continue to feel any remains of those beliefs unchain you. Do some breath of fire, jump around, move vigorously to expel those beliefs from your body.
Take some time to divine any messages your candle flame has to offer. Candle flames can indicate possible blocks or results of your spell depending on the way it is burning.
Finish by burning the list if you have one in the black candle flame. Allow the candles to burn out.
Immediately go take a shower and clean yourself with the good Juju soap to attract good luck and fortune to you. Continue using the soap for 7 days for a powerful effect.
To dispose of your spell, carry the black candle far from your property and throw it into a trash can or dumpster that is emptied often. You can bury the remains of the white candle on your property or throw it into a bonfire that you are enjoying.

Noctilucent Clouds over Florida

First, they are rare noctilucent clouds, meaning that they are visible at night — but only just before sunrise or just after sunset. Second, the source of these noctilucent clouds is actually known. In this rare case, the source of the sunlight-reflecting ice-crystals in the upper atmosphere can be traced back to the launch of a nearby SpaceX rocket about 30 minutes earlier. Known more formally as polar mesospheric clouds, the vertex of these icy wisps happens to converge just in front of a rising crescent Moon. The featured image — and accompanying video — were captured over Orlando, Florida, USA about a week ago. The bright spot to the right of the Moon is the planet Jupiter, while the dotted lights above the horizon on the right are from an airplane.

Surely they do, and evidence includes slight star wobbles created by the gravity of orbiting exoplanets and slight star dimmings caused by orbiting planets moving in front. In all, there have now been over 5,500 exoplanets discovered, including thousands by NASA‘s space-based Kepler and TESS missions, and over 100 by ESO‘s ground-based HARPS instrument. Featured here is an illustrated guess as to what some of these exoplanets might look like. Neptune-type planets occupy the middle and are colored blue because of blue-scattering atmospheric methane they might contain. On the sides of the illustration, Jupiter-type planets are shown, colored tan and red from the scatterings of atmospheric gases that likely include small amounts of carbon. Interspersed are many Earth-type rocky planets of many colors. As more exoplanets are discovered and investigated, humanity is developing a better understanding of how common Earth-like planets are, and how common life might be in the universe.

The Moon phase for today is a Waxing Crescent phase. This is the phase where the moon started to become visible again after the New Moon.
In this part of the moon cycle, the Moon is moving away from the Sun and is becoming more and more illuminated by sunlight. In this phase, the moon will go from 0.1% to 49.9% illuminated before reaching the First Quarter phase.
In the Waxing Crescent phase the moon rises before noon in the east, transits the meridian before sunset, before setting in the west before midnight.
The Waxing Crescent phase, like all moon phases, will last for just over 7 days. The actual length will vary because of the elliptical shaped orbit of the moon. The moon is close to the Sun in the sky and the right edge will become brighter as it approaches 50% illumination and the First Quarter phase
Fun fact: although only a small part of the Moon is illuminated in the Waxing Crescent phase, you can still sometimes see the rest of moon as faintly visible. This is known as “earthshine” or Da Vinci glow and is a result of sunlight being reflected off the Earth and back to the Moon.

Iridescent Clouds over Sweden
Image Credit: Goran StrandExplanation: Why are these clouds multi-colored? A relatively rare phenomenon in clouds known as iridescence can bring up unusual colors vividly — or even a whole spectrum of colors simultaneously. These polar stratospheric clouds also, known as nacreous and mother-of-pearl clouds, are formed of small water droplets of nearly uniform size. When the Sun is in the right position and, typically, hidden from direct view, these thin clouds can be seen significantly diffracting sunlight in a nearly coherent manner, with different colors being deflected by different amounts. Therefore, different colors will come to the observer from slightly different directions. Many clouds start with uniform regions that could show iridescence but quickly become too thick, too mixed, or too angularly far from the Sun to exhibit striking colors. The featured image and an accompanying video were taken late in 2019 over Ostersund, Sweden.
