Monday & The Perfect Magick Philter for the Day – Psychic Power Philter

Queen Nefertari

Psychic Power Philter

• One clear or blue glass bottle with a stopper or lid
• A clean dropper
• 6 inches silver ribbon
• A small moon-shaped charm
• A label and a pen (to list the ingredients and to decorate and mark the bottle)
• 8 cup almond base oil (almond is associated with the moon)
• 13 drops sandalwood oil (a lunar oil that is both spiritual and protective)
• 3 white rose petals
• 3 willow leaves or a pinch of dried willow bark
• A tiny moonstone chipPour the base oil into the bottle until the bottle is three quarters of the way full. Then add the moonstone chip, the rose petals, willow, and finally the essential sandalwood wood oil.

Close up the bottle with the lid, place your fingers over the lid, and carefully shake up the mixture.

Hold up the mixture to the moonlight and allow the moonbeams to illuminate the philter within. On the label, list the ingredients and the use for this potion. Decorate the label by drawing moons or whatever else you think would add to the moon magick. Attach the label to the glass bottle (wipe off the outside of the bottle first). Finish up by threading the moon charm onto the ribbon and then tying the silver ribbon around the neck of the bottle. As you finish tying on the bow, hold the bottle in your hands and repeat the charm below (Notice there is a place for you to insert which phase of the moon you happen to be currently in. This way, you can customize the philter for specific psychic abilities.)

This philter holds the powers of the moon
May it increase my psychic power soon
The stone adds lunar power and empathy
The herbs and oil increase the power times three
During this quarter’s enchanting moon phase
I’ll work easily with my powers through the day
This potion is enhanced by the moon’s magick so bright
My psychic talents will now blossom and come to light.

Store the philter bottle in a safe, dry place out of direct sunlight. Make sure that you keep all potion and philter bottles well out of reach of children. Now, if you want to get really creative, you can adapt the charm for the philter to work in any of the following lunar energies(which means you could literally create four different philters, one for each phase and psychic influence of the moon).

Candle Dressing Oil

 Dressing Oil

Based on an oil recipe handed down to me for dressing candles before ritual

What you need:

2 dram (10mL) clean amber or cobalt vial sweet almond oil (has vitamin E
for preservation)
6 drops sandalwood mysore e.o.
3 drops myrrh e.o.
3 drops frankincense e.o.

Add the essential oils to the bottle and swirl them gently in order to get them
blended. Add any crystals (make sure they are clean too) and then add your base
oil to top the bottle off. I don’t use crystals in all my blends but some people
add crystals to their magical blends to keep them charged with a specific
intention. Make sure to keep the oils stored away from light and write on a
sticker or piece of paper to be taped on the name of the blend, time, date, moon
phase, planetary hour and any other info you wish so that you know what you made and when for use later. As well, be careful as these blends will eventually go off so use your sniffer and be aware of what the blend should smell like. Once
it seems off, you can discard it, clean the bottle and start a fresh! Make sure
it is completely clean and if it cannot be completely cleaned, discard and use a
fresh one.
Remember – essential oils can cause reactions and oils like citrus can cause
photosensitivity so please – be careful ~ Herbs can be dangerous.

Essential oils are volatile so bottles left with tops off will soon lose their
potency. Ensure that oils don’t get too hot and, in the case of oils like
citrus-based oils, not too cold. To test your essential oils to see if they are
pure, put a drop or two on blotter paper. Genuine essential oils will evaporate
completely.

How About Reversing A Spell With Water

The water method of reversing a spell is particularly effective for spells which were originally cast with water, or spells geared to affect the emotions. This method is an excellent way to rid yourself of love spells in any of their many forms. You should perform the spell yourself if you have been the victim. If you want to help others to reverse a spell, remember that the spell should be reversed by the actual victim.

Fill a small bottle with water. You can use a baby food jar, or ajar of similar size. Place at least a dozen straight pins in the bottle. Cap the bottle tightly and place it over a fire. The bottle may be placed on the kitchen stove. The bottle is heated until it explodes, which casts the pins all over the room. The pins and the broken glass should be cleaned up and placed in the garbage. Remove the garbage from the house immediately. The clean-up must be done as soon as possible after the bottle explodes.

The purpose of this spell is to disturb the negative influences of the water element that are present in the home of the victim. This spell reverses any negative work, and attempts to restore balance to the “water element” presence in the victim’s home. This is a very effective spell, and has been taught by practitioners of three different practices.

The bottle used may be of any size, although a baby food jar or a small jam jar is probably best suited for the spell because this type of jar only holds a few ounces of liquid. Ordinary tap water is used in the spell, and the steel pins used by dressmakers are fine. They should be placed loose in the bottle, after the water has been added to the bottle. You can use as many pins as you like, but you should use at least a dozen.

Heat the bottle when no one is in the room. It’s very important that no one should be in the room when the bottle explodes, for one may be hurt by the flying glass or pins. The smaller the bottle, the faster it will heat, another reason for using a small jar. When the bottle is hot enough it will explode, strewing the pins and broken glass, as well as water, all over the room. The purpose of immediately cleaning up the mess is to remove the influence of the spell immediately. Once the influence is out of the house it is very difficult for the person who did the work to re-establish the connection to the home.

This process of reversing a spell might seem extreme. But remember desperate times sometimes require desperate actions

Good Thursday Morning, all my lovely friends! Take A Look, We Need Your Help!

No fancy graphics, no humorous sayings! I am very serious today. We need your help! Desperately. My true love, the animal refuge, is going to need some funding. Right now, I have enough supplies to make it for a few more days. But I have received an influx of animals from the local vets. It is normal for this time of year. The nights are cooler, the animals roam, they get hit by cars, some injured, others leaving behind babies. You understand what I mean. But right now, I am using a larger than usual amount of hay. Hay isn’t cheap this year. I am also using baby formula and purchasing (at a huge discount) baby mice. You will see why in just a minute. I have took as many pictures as possible of the new critters that have arrived. I wanted you to see their cute little faces that way you will know what you are helping. So let me show you some of these little darlings.

There are four of these little cuties. They were found not to far from a local pond in the game reserve. They were all cuddled up around their dead mother. She apparently died trying to defend them.  But all of them require a bottle to be fed and they are getting fat as little pigs. Oh, I don’t know if some of you have heard or not baby skunks don’t spray. HA! In a few weeks, this little guy will be able to spray if he feels threatened. But they are absolutely adorable.

This guy is a very unusual critter to end up in our refuge. We might get one or two a year. So they are very rare for us. But isn’t he beautiful. He is the reason, I am purchasing mice. I ought to have took a picture of him eating. It is cool to watch him eat. I just love him. He has a broken wing. He will probably be here for at least two or three weeks. He likes to stay perched up high. One of us has to pick him up and put him up on a board. Then we have to stay outside in the barn to watch him. When he tries to get down, we run and get him and put him back on the ground. Sounds like a lot of work, but I love doing it.

This little guy came in by himself. He is a victim of a vicious hunter. A hunter who shot his mother and displayed her across the front of his jeep as he drove off. People like that make my butt work button holes. He is just two weeks old. He just recently opened his eyes before we got him. He doesn’t know how to eat on his own. So he is bottle fed too.

This is another bobcat kitten that is two months old. He came in because of the same reason. His mother was shot due to a uncaring hunter. The bastard also went so far as to shoot his brothers and sisters. I guess the noise scared this little gal so bad she ran for her life. Thankfully she ran toward safety and someone who would take her and get her to safety.  She is a sweetheart.

A beautiful deer fawn.  She is still wobbly on her legs.  We also offer her a bottle and she takes it. Her mother  was shot by a hunter, out of season.  She is so gentle and loving. It will be very hard to get her back out into the wild.

A beautiful gray fox. He had his paw caught in a trap and had practically chewed it off when he was found. He isn’t that friendly but he is learning, we don’t want to hurt him. We are trying to help him. In a few weeks, he will be able to return to the wild and hopefully no more traps.

Last but definitely not least, this is Razzy. I just had to show you how she had grown and how beautiful she is. She came to us in a set of three kittens. She was so affectionate and loving. We immediately bonded.  It just goes to show you, these poor animals that start out in life so badly can turn into the most beautiful animals on the planet. Razzy is gentle, loving, protective and thinks she is just a big housecat. She loves Kiki and my old tomcat to pieces. They all live together as brothers and sisters. She loves to jump on my back and also sit on my shoulders. The little heifer weighs about 35 lbs. Can you imagine that sitting on your shoulders?

But you see what your money goes to help. We currently need hay/straw, bottles, formula, bandages, antibiotic ointment and grain. Like I said earlier, we have enough supplies right now for the next few days. But we are going to run out and we need your help.

It doesn’t matter how much you can give, every dime counts. Heck $5.00 will buy a bale of hay, which will feed a deer for a few days. Or it will keep a fox warm for a couple of days. $10.00 will buy a case of formula for the baby skunks, bobcat, and fawn. See it doesn’t take much to assist this little critters. If you can spare it and you feel the need to help. Please take a moment to donate. We will appreciate anything you can give. More over, the animals will definitely appreciate your gift. Thank you!

Four Thieves Vinegar

Four Thieves Vinegar

2 quarts of vinegar
2 tablespoons each:

  • lavender
  • rosemary
  • sage
  • rue
  • mint
  • wormwood
  • garlic

Soak and shake all of the herbs for two weeks and strain.

Legend has it that during the bubonic plague four thieves were caught stealing from houses where everyone had died from the plague. When the judge asked them how they were able to do this without contracting the plague, they claimed they drank and washed with this vinegar every few hours. In return for the recipe, the thieves got their freedom.

Take some 4 Thieves Vinegar and put it in a small bottle. Write the name of the person you want out of your life on a piece of paper and put it in the bottle with the vinegar. Seal the bottle tight and then throw the bottle into “moving” water (river or??) where it will be carried away from you.

As you throw it in the water, visualize the person moving out of your life and far away from you.

Witches’ Protection Bottle Spell

Witches’ Protection Bottle Spell

Get a glass jar such as a Mason jar, or even a baby food jar, anything that has a lid to it. Fill the jar halfway with small sharp objects such as pins, metal scrapings, broken glass, razor blades, etc. Be careful when you are filling the jar! Once the jar is half full with these objects, fill the jar up with a holy water mixture of salt and water.

Put the top on the jar and be sure it’s secured.

This jar should be buried in the ground at least twelve inches deep.
As long as the bottle remains in the ground, you will be protected from harm that is sent your way. If you bury the jar somewhere away from home, and you wont know if it will still be there in a year (City Witches don’t always have backyards), then be sure to repeat this process each year.

Green Tip – 20 Reuses for Plastic Drink Bottles

20 Reuses for Plastic Drink Bottles

  • Chaya, selected from Networx

Plastic grocery bags and plastic water bottles – those disposable environmental nightmares – have become iconic in the current green revolution. Which is why plastic grocery bags are banned in many states, with many more on the way. Alas, single-use soda and water bottles are still ubiquitous. And even those of us who refuse to buy them, somehow seem to find ourselves in possession of the little landfill disasters.

So you’ve found yourself with a stash of bottles, maybe from your Couch-To-5k run, or your company-provided lunch, or that one time you got caught on a long drive in the middle of nowhere. Beverage trash still happens to mindful people! But that’s okay. There’s plenty of ways to get creative and up-cycle them for new and useful purposes. Here are a few fantastic ideas to get you started:

1. You can construct surprisingly elegant hanging lights, like this incredible plastic bottle chandelier.

2. You can also make awesome standing lights, like this glamorous floor lamp or this awesome desk lamp.

3. Be a DIY exterminator! Make a bug trap to thwart those summer fruit flies that invade your kitchen.

4. Make an automatic-plant watering system, and never let another plant die due to forgetfulness.

5. While you’re at it, you can fashion a simple, small watering can to keep on hand.

6. Freeze your bottles full of water and use them as cold packs in your cooler, or in your cloth shopping bag to keep your cold items cool on the way home from the grocer.

7. Put them to work in your kitchen. Make a citrus juicer! Or a quick funnel!

8. Cut off the tops and use the bottoms as your seed starter pots for your spring garden’s indoor transplants.

9. Or, cut off the bottoms and use the tops to blow giant bubbles!

10. And don’t forget those caps too! You can use them to make mini stamps.

11. Fill them with tap water and drop them in your toilet tank instead of a brick. You’ll save gallons of water each day!

12. Make a DIY lava lamp! So fun!

13. Make a super cute piggy bank.

14. This is NOT just another boring old “plastic vase”. This idea from Dollar Store Crafts for a DIY flower vase is a most elegant-looking use of a plastic drink bottle!

15. This is a pretty boring, but very functional, plastic bag dispenser. You could totally paint or decoupage it to spruce it up.

16. Make custom fashion, like these fun water bottle bracelets.

17. Make a coin purse. Amazing.

18. These “flower garland” hangings look so modern and so chic.

19. Save them for the holidays and make strings of stars (WOW) or icicle ornaments.

20. And finally, for the pros, you can set up a hydroponic window garden (double WOW).

Good Times Charm

Good Times Charm

The next time you pop a bottle of champagne to celebrate a special event or accomplishment, don’t throw away the cork. Cut a slit in the top and insert a coin. If you place it in your kitchen cupboard, it will bring luck to the entire household. The luck will last until the next bottle of champagne is opened. However, if you insert a coin minted in the year of your birth, carry the charm with you at all times. The luck will last the rest of your life.

Recipe for Making a Gem Essence/Elixir

Also know as gem elixirs, essences are the vibration of the crystal reserved in water and brandy. For our purposes, using a gemstone essence involves placing a few drops in a household cleanser or room spray in order to diffuse the vibration of the crystal throughout the room. You can purchase gemstone essences/elixirs already made or make your own. The gemstone essences that can be purchase can also be taken internally, but if you make your own for use in your magickal housekeeping practice. It is not recommended that you take them internally unless you are an expert, or at least until you’ve done some more thorough research of gem essence/elixir preparation.

How to Create a Gem Essence/Elixir

Items You Will Need:

  • A cleansed crystal (you choose the type according to your needs)
  • Pure water
  • A very clean, clear wine las
  • Brandy
  • A small bottle with a dropper

On a sunny day, when the moon is between New and Full, place the crystal in the glass. Pour the water over the crystal to fill the glass. Place the glass in bright sunlight for at least three hours, making sure that no shade hits it During this time, set the empty dropper bottle next to the glass to purify it with the light of the Sun. After the water and bottle have bathed in the sun for the allotted time, place your hands over the water and visualize very bright, sparkly light filing it. Say a quick prayer, like:

“Great Spirit, please infuse this water with vibrations

of healing and love. Please fully activate the

positive energy of this crystal, and fill the water

with it so that the water is powerful medicine and

a helpful ally to me in my magickal workings.”

Then fill the dropper bottle with half brandy, half water from the wineglass, using the dropper to transfer the water into the bottle. This will preserve the vibration of the crystal in the water.

Once you’ve made the essence, you can put four drops in a room spray or cleaning solution to diffuse the vibrations throughout the room. You can also put a few drops on your wrists, rubbing them together to internalize the magick and for personal healing.

Making a Protective Witch’s Bottle

Protective witches’ bottles, some dating from before Roman times and other from as late as the beginning of the twentieth century, may be seen in museums around the world. There are fine examples in the small and eccentric but fabulous Pux Rivers Museum in Oxford, UK. Witch bottles usually consisted of a sealed stone or bellaramine jar, filled with bent iron nails and pins, and buried under the entrance of a house. Iron is considered the most protective metal against all kinds of harm. Although the old witch bottles were often designed to guard against witches, the modern ones are used to repel any form of malevolence or bad feeling that may enter the home.

You will need:

A dark glass or stone bottle with a cork or tight lid (the kind used for cider is ideal); some sealing was (optional); enough old rusty nails and pins to half fill the bottle; enough cheap or sour red wine or vinegar to almost fill the bottle; 2 or 3 sprigs of fresh rosemary of 2-3 tsp dried rosemary.

Timing:

At around 10 p.m., when the moon is no longer visible in the sky.

The Spell:

  • Working in a dim light; rinse the bottle under a tap.

  • Place the rusty nails and pins in the bottle, bending them if you can to form a horseshoe shape.

  • Add the rosemary and then enough wine to cover the nails (the original protective fluid was urine, but this is not suitable for modern witch bottles!)

  • Close the bottle and, if you choose, seal it with sealing wax (the traditional method).

  • Shake the bottle nine times, as you do so saying:

Keep away harm,

Keep away danger,

Keep from my door

False friend and stranger.

Drive away malice,

Drive away spite,

Guard this my dwelling

By day and by night.

  • Either bury the bottle in deep earth near the front or back door or keep it on a high shelf in a basement or cellar. Alternatively, place it high as possible in the house, when it cannot be seen.
