Daily Cosmic Calendar for Monday, November 4th

There’s no real need to be racing out of the starting gate this morning with the Moon void in Scorpio until 12:15PM. Of course, if you are awake around 1:17AM, you can take advantage of a surprising boost on the compatibility front as Juno in Aquarius makes a supportive, 60-degree link to Uranus in Aries. Interest in fashion and style is rising, but last night’s abrasive, 45-degree between Venus and Saturn can still keep deep romantic urges on temporary hold.  Once the Moon breaks out of the fixed, power zone of hard-driving Scorpio and into the mutable, upbeat terrain of Sagittarius (12:15PM), it is a more welcome monthly time-period for fun, games, sports, and striving to hit the bull’s-eye of long-range goals. The lunar change from Scorpio to Sagittarius each month is often the most emotionally dramatic of any lunar metamorphosis. Thus, breathe several sighs of relief and get going with ventures that make you enthusiastic and content.  Working on your behalf is a supportive, 60-degree connection from the Moon to Ceres (1:10PM). Make helpful dietary and nutritional changes that can strengthen your immune system. Nurture maternal figures and children in your circle of friends and relatives.  Let the good times roll tonight as a party atmosphere develops. Enjoy card, board or word games. Restore faith in yourself and the future. [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Standard Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]

Night of Wild Winds

Colors: Black, white, grey
Element: Air
Altar: Upon cloth of swirling white, grey, and black place incense, fans, pens, and small pieces of paper. All windows in the House should be opened throughout the night.
Offering: Give your wishes to the winds.
Daily Meal: Raw, cold food.

Invocation to the Wild Winds

This is the Night of Wild Winds!
We have opened ourselves to the still cold waters,
And tonight we open ourselves to their counterpart,
The ever-flying bitter winds that rush
Through all things! Open all the windows,
Let them run through the House,
Let them tear through our hair and our heads,
Let them flay us clean of all impurities!
For on the winds ride the souls of our ancestors,
And the spirits of the Air itself!
Listen to their songs, their whispers,
And learn the wisdom they speak.
Spirits of the Air, Powers of the Winds,
Be with us tonight!
Be with us in our beds,
Be with us in our dreams,
Be with us until the dawn!
Hail, Night of Wild Winds!
May we breathe in your inspiration
And may it blow us through to a new day!

Chant: Spirit of the Wind, carry me,
Spirit of the Wind, carry me home,
Spirit of the Wind, carry me home to myself.

(The incense is carried throughout the house, and all windows are thrown open. They shall stay that way, regardless of cold, until after sunrise the next day.)

Saga’s Day

Element: Air
Altar: Upon cloth the color of parchment place all the books that those of the House wish blessed, plus burning sticks of recaning herbs.
Offerings: Donate books to libraries or to people who need them.
Daily Meal: A small light lunch of any sort, eaten not in the main kitchen but alone with a book.

Invocation to Saga

We hail you, Keeper of the Records of the Past!
Lady of Sokkvabek, the Hall of Books
Where the stream of Knowledge passes
Under the dangling feet of those who sit
Sharing words and ale on your porch.
Daughter of Valkyrie and Dwarven Emperor,
You chose instead of war
To live a life of peace, surrounded by the words,
The histories, the lays, the information
That you love, and love to pass on.
Lady who loves all libraries,
Teach us to honor all spaces where knowledge
Is hoarded like treasure, and like treasure
Given out to the hungry and the needy,
As your sacred temples, your rivers of gold.
Tell us the stories if those who have gone before us,
And give us the gems new-discovered
From the world around us
And from the worlds within others.
Hail, Lady who shares her ale with all
Who love to share knowledge as much as yourself,
May your hands guide our searches
As we sift through the dust of the past
For gems to inspire our yearning hearts.

(One who has been chosen to do the work of the ritual recanes the books thoroughly with the burning mugwort sticks, and says, “Hail Saga!” All reply “Hail Saga!” and come forward to take the books from the altar. The rest of the day up until Hesperis will be spent reading, save for those necessary tasks which must be done, and for those workers one will be chosen to read to them as they work.)

Follow your impulses and let yourself make new starts in areas that are important to you.

The Witches’ Spell for Nov. 4th – Get Lost Hex

goth114I know you know that I don’t generally post hexes or curses. But I have had several people write to be about people bothering them, thinking they have been cursed, had a love spell put on them and many more. So I figured instead of emailing each of you individually, I would post the spell here. You can’t never tell there might be someone reading this that is having the same problem. I hope this helps everyone. If it doesn’t suit your circumstances, let me know and I will track down another spell for you.

Get Lost Hex

While this hex will definitely force the target to leave you alone, it also causes enough personal aggravation so that he or she is way too busy to bother anyone else.

Materials:

Prepared poppet

Black wax, melted

Lost and Away Powder

Brown paper sack

Place the poppet in the sack and sprinkle liberally with Lost and Away Powder, saying:

Lost and away from me you go
As your life’s sprinkled with troubles, problems and woe.

Pour the melted wax on top of the poppet, and quickly douse with the powder again. (Do this before the wax sets up, as you want the powder to adhere to it.) As you sprinkle the powder, say:

Problems stick like black to crow
Like melted wax they ooze and flow,
And when you think they’re finally done,
More arrive with rise of Sun.

Bury the poppet in an area easily accessible to you but away from your home. To keep the hex active, visit the grave once each week and dust it with the powder.

Monday, Monday, All About Mondays!

MONDAY

The Day of the Moon

monandaeg (Anglo-Saxon)
montag (Germanic)
dies lunae (Latin)
som-var (Hindu)
peer or somwar (Islamic)
lundi (French)
getsu youbi (Japanese

This is traditionally viewed as the second day of the week. Although known as ‘Monandaeg’ by the Angle-Saxons it was also known as ‘the day of the moon’. ‘Black Monday’ was the term given to 14 April 1360 which was an Easter Monday. King Edward III of England had laid siege to Paris but was plagued by the weather as it turned foul and dark.. As a result it is said that many men and their mounts were lost in battle. The fact that this event is said to have occurred on Easter Monday is disputed, being later said to have occurred on the Tuesday, but ever since the Monday after Easter has been given this name. On 25 February 1865 a terrifying wind rose up in Melbourne, Australia coming from the NNW. Devastation hit an immense area of land between Castlemaine and Sandhurst, known after by this name. According to tradition it was believed that there were three specific Mondays of the year that were considered to be unlucky. The first Monday in April, the second in August, and the last in the month of December. It is said that Cain was born on the first Monday in April, and that later it was upon this day that he killed his brother Abel. Sodom and Gommorah was said to be destroyed on the second Monday in August, and that it was upon this day in December that Judas Iscariot was born. According to the English historian Richard Grafton certain dates of the month were unlucky as published in the ‘Manual’ in 1565. Days throughout the year were identified and of course could have related to any day of the week. The date was the most important point to consider. The work was reputed to have some credence with support given by astronomers of the day.

Feng Shui News for Nov. 3rd – ‘Housewife’s Day’

It’s ‘Housewife’s Day’ and I want to offer a Feng Shui cure that promises financial independence to the female of the family. This ages-old tradition tells that a woman who wants to be financially free should put three rosemary plants on any windowsill in her kitchen. According to this modality, the kitchen is considered the ‘room of abundance’ while rosemary is also believed to attract prosperity and abundance. Give yourself the gift of manifesting money by growing it as well.

Your Charm for November 3rd is The Food Charm

Your Charm for Today

The Food Charm

Today’s Meaning:

Your health vibration is very high! You are energetic and feel you can accomplish anything. This aspect reflects positive vibrations due to diet. This will continue for a few weeks.

General Description:

The Lamas of Tibet encourage all sorts of magic. Their religion is a form of Buddhism, introduced into Tibet about 750 A.D. It is corrupted with the worship of demons, and many curious magical beliefs. The Food Charm is used to stamp the form of their god Buddha on their food for protection against the powers of evil, and for happiness, both of the physical and spiritual body. The device shows the god Buddha probably surrounded with the emblematic circle of rice, which in Tibet means the Wheel of Life, or misfortunes roll off, and good fortune rolls on.

Your Ancient Symbol Card for Nov. 3rd is The Magus

Your Ancient Symbol Card for Today

The Magus

The Magus is the physical embodiment of decisive action based upon knowledge and aimed squarely at specific goals. Thoroughly Yang by nature and firmly set in the material world, he none-the-less has a powerful spiritual connection as well. His knowledge, wisdom and skill are all encompassing. He is complete. His power as a creator is unmatched on our earthly plane. He is self-aware and unafraid to act. His enormous strength gives him the freedom to act as he chooses. However, responsibility comes with that freedom. Because he is not bound to the restraints of others he must choose how to act. The question that always lies before him is should he act morally, or forsake ethics for personal gain.

As a daily card, The Magus suggest you currently possess a tremendous power and freedom to move your life in any direction you choose. In short, you can make things happen. Your true challenge at the moment is to move forward without trampling the dreams of others. Fortunately your moral fiber is strong as well, and will guide you down the right path.

Daily Horoscopes for November 3rd

There is nothing casual about our communication today because we want to be taken seriously. We may feel as if time is quickly running out and we’re backed up against a wall. However, the intense Scorpio New Moon at 7:49 a.m. EST is a Solar Eclipse that marks a turning point in an ongoing process. Whether we’re letting go of a previous attachment or firing up a new passion, it’s time to move ahead with a renewed sense of direction and purpose.

Aries Horoscope

(Mar 21 – Apr 19)

Following through with your big ideas is difficult now because it seems like people say one thing yet mean something else. But it’s also about what you share with others today, too. A Solar Eclipse activates your 8th House of Intimacy, stirring your passions and intensifying your emotions. Nevertheless, it’s a luxury if you actually get to speak them out loud. Your feelings may not easily integrate into your life, so you must make a conscious choice regarding what is critical enough to reveal at this time.

Taurus Horoscope

(Apr 20 – May 20)

Your relationships are probably more complicated than you prefer now. Today’s Scorpio New Moon Eclipse falls in your 7th House of Others, adding boundary issues to your current struggles. You might strive for simplicity because you are happier when all is secure and stable. Paradoxically, in the spirit of getting back to basics, you could be willing to make your life even more complex for a short while. Keeping your goals in mind ensures that you continue to move along on your path

Gemini Horoscope

(May 21 – Jun 20)

Make simple adjustments to your daily routine today — ones that won’t turn your life upside down. But even the most subtle modifications can set into motion a series of profound consequences with the Scorpio Solar Eclipse rattling your 6th House of Self-Improvement. The potential to change direction is strong, so choose your actions wisely. However, being overly insistent could overwhelms others, causing your plans to backfire. Gentle persistence is much more effective now than one dramatic gesture.

Cancer Horoscope

(Jun 21 – Jul 22)

You may feel as if your life has come to a standstill, but in truth it has not. In contrast, you’re on the verge of something big. Perhaps you’ve been thinking about starting a creative project or initiating action on the romantic front. With today’s New Moon Eclipse joining restrictive Saturn in your 5th House of Self-Expression, whatever it is won’t happen overnight, so be patient with yourself and others a little while longer. It’s always darkest right before the dawn.

Leo Horoscope

(Jul 23 – Aug 22)

Your inner world of emotions may be at odds with your outer world of actions. You would like to withhold your feelings and smile now, but you might not be able to get away with it. Acknowledge your inner process while the Solar Eclipse is intensifying your 4th House of Security. Thankfully, you can change the rules of the game; instead of choosing emotions or logic, seek a position that honors both realms. Maintain your connection with your heart while making decisions with your rational mind.

Virgo Horoscope

(Aug 23 – Sep 22)

It is time to put your plans into action because this New Moon Eclipse shakes up your 3rd House of Immediate Environment. Use the powerful energy to get your ideas out into the open, whether verbally or written. There may not be a better time to take initiative on an important project. Nevertheless, it might be nearly impossible to follow through on everything you start today. Ride the waves of change with a healthy sense of humor, for the intense energy won’t last too long.

Libra Horoscope

(Sep 23 – Oct 22)

You are not saying everything you know today, but whatever secrets you keep to yourself may actually be more important than what you share. It’s critical to increase your awareness by realizing your own core values, including the obvious issues of money, love and power. Today’s Scorpio New Moon Eclipse falls in your 2nd House of Personal Resources, possibly making you feel less confident about your financial issues. Pushing through your resistance is not about denying real concerns; it’s about facing them head-on.

Scorpio Horoscope

(Oct 23 – Nov 21)

You can do nearly anything now if you set your mind to it as today’s New Moon Eclipse empowers your emotionally intense sign. It’s as if you are carrying a secret vial of superpowers, but you must use the potion carefully or you’ll create more problems than you solve. There’s nothing wrong with trying to save the world, but acknowledging your limits today can save you from disappointment tomorrow.

Sagittarius Horoscope

(Nov 22 – Dec 21)

You might miss an opportunity to make a meaningful connection with someone close to you in your desire to demonstrate your competence to the world. You seem to be emotionally present and living in the moment, but no one really knows for sure as today’s Scorpio Solar Eclipse occurs in your 12th House of Secrets. Deep soul-searching might reveal that you are not yet ready to share your vulnerability with anyone else. Don’t push it; you will know when the time is right.

Capricorn Horoscope

(Dec 22 – Jan 19)

Shine your awareness onto the outer world now, as you are quite skillful engaging in the social scenes unfolding around you. But your ideas may be more fixed than anyone realizes, and you really don’t want to change your plans with the Scorpio New Moon Eclipse landing in your 11th House of Goals. You can engage others with calculated precision as if you are playing a game of chess. Trust your intuition; you know exactly what moves to make. Keep your eyes on your goals; your single-mindedness might just bring you the treasures you seek.

Aquarius Horoscope

(Jan 20 – Feb 18)

Your career goals are more important than anything else now that the Scorpio Solar Eclipse emphasizes your 10th House of Public Responsibility. Your ability to control your emotions can create a magnetism that could have people eating out of your hand. But this isn’t about manipulating anyone else. Instead, it’s about using your powers of persuasion carefully so others will line up to be on your team. Integrate your altruistic intentions with decisive action for the best results.

Pisces Horoscope

(Feb 19 – Mar 20)

Successfully planning for your future requires that you have a good map showing the lay of the land. But sometimes it’s quite challenging for you Fish to get your bearings, especially now that the mysterious Scorpio New Moon is being eclipsed in your 9th House of Journeys. Nevertheless, you should land safely at your desired destination just in time, as long as you continue to visualize your arrival. Take an extra step and make an itinerary for the months ahead so you can stay on track as you move toward fulfilling your dreams.

Lunar Eclipses and Solar Eclipses

Lunar Eclipses and Solar Eclipses

What’s the difference between a Solar Eclipse and a Lunar Eclipse?

Tarotcom Staff Tarotcom Staff on the topics of solar eclipse, new moon, lunar eclipse, full moon, astrology

Eclipses are pretty major events, especially in Astrology, but that doesn’t mean everyone understands the difference between a Solar Eclipse and a Lunar Eclipse — not to mention how they affect your life.

A Personal Moon report can help explain just how much the Moon affects your emotions. But in terms of eclipses, let’s start with the basics: A Solar Eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, and a Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the Moon and the Sun.

Full Moon vs. the New Moon

With a Solar Eclipse, which can only happen at the New Moon, the shadow of the Moon is cast on the Earth and fully or partially blocks the Sun. Sometimes you can see a “ring of fire” glowing around the Solar Eclipse, but when there is a Total Eclipse of the Sun, the sky can grow dark in the middle of the day.

In Astrology, the darkness associated with a Solar Eclipse also casts a shadow on our innermost selves — it’s a time when we are reminded to turn inward, tap into our emotions and reconnect with the past. Solar Eclipses are about taking care of unfinished personal business before you can move on to new projects.

With a Lunar Eclipse, which can only occur at a Full Moon, the shadow of the Earth is cast on the Moon. This happens when the Moon passes behind the Earth and the Earth blocks the Sun’s rays, so it can only happen when the Sun, Earth and Moon are very closely aligned.

Lunation’s to spur personal growth

It’s much more common to view a Lunar Eclipse because they last longer (hours as opposed to minutes) and they can be seen from anywhere on Earth where you can see the Moon. During a Lunar Eclipse the sky will be very dark, but the Moon will appear Full and luminous, with a soft orange or pinkish hue.

Just like its softer visual appearance, the Lunar Eclipse has a softer astrological effect on our emotions, too. A Lunar Eclipse is a bit less intense, as it helps you to question less and feel more ready to let go of the past, shed old fears and habits, and finally feel light enough to move forward.

To dig deeper into the meaning of each Solar Eclipse or Lunar Eclipse, you’ll want to know in which sign each is taking place, as that will affect the overall forecast. But generally speaking, both Solar and Lunar Eclipses are special lunation’s that spur personal growth.

The Daily Cosmic Calnedar for November 3

If you are having a difficult time seeing the start of November as positive, join the club. Friday’s fireworks, followed by Saturday’s lunar transit into Scorpio along with the heightening potency of the dark of the moon cycle, can leave many souls bewildered. However, several celestial alignments attempt a rescue mission as the Sun makes a physically and emotionally vitalizing, 60-degree tie with the red planet Mars (1:49AM PDT) — the last main aspect happening with daylight time in effect.  Once standard time is restored (in most locations across America and world-wide), today’s rescue mission continues as the Moon in Scorpio trines Chiron in Pisces (1:26AM PST and arriving with a boost for healing interests) while practical efforts lead to progress on the business front — courtesy of a Mercury-Saturn parallel (3:16AM and similar to a union in the zodiac).  The big event — the New Moon at 12 degrees of Scorpio (4:51AM) — is also a hybrid Total-Annular Solar Eclipse at 4:48AM. The area of the world influenced is primarily the Eastern zones of North and South America, the Atlantic Ocean, Southern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. One fortunate facet to any New Moon is that it tends to propel humanity forward rather than backward as it represents the seed-point for the coming solar-lunar dance in the zodiac over the next 29.5-days — until the next New Moon (in Sagittarius) takes hold on December 2. Therefore, utilize the hours after the New Moon/Total-Annular Solar Eclipse to take several giant steps forward in your main fields of expertise.  Productivity — especially in the arts — can rise as the largest asteroid Ceres enters affable, airy Libra (6:16AM) — a cycle that lasts until February 3. Be a keen logician and careful analyst when it comes to focusing on important business plans as the Moon makes its monthly union with Saturn (9:19AM).  A 15+ hour void lunar cycle starts during a mind-expanding Moon-Jupiter trine in water signs (8:24PM). This lunar twilight zone lasts until 12:15PM tomorrow when the Moon enters fiery Sagittarius. The big chill can enter affairs of the heart — on a temporary basis overnight — as Venus forms a frictional, 45-degree tie with Saturn (11:32PM). [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Standard Time — starting at 2AM on the West Coast of the USA and Canada. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]
