Feng Shui News for Aug. 28th – 'Crackers Over The Keyboard Day'

On ‘Crackers Over The Keyboard Day’ let’s take a look at how best to clean something you probably use every single day. Research has shown that your computer’s keyboard can carry more bacteria than a toilet seat! First, shut down your computer and unplug it, if you can. Turn the keyboard upside down and shake it in order to remove any debris. Next, dip a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and brush in between each of the keys. You can also dip a cloth in alcohol and run it over the tops of the keys. Once done, plug the device back in and, of course, quit eating crackers around your keyboard! That should help to keep your computer keys as good as new.

Feng Shui Tip for August. 26: 'National Dog Day'

How apropos that ‘National Dog Day’ falls during the traditional dog days of summer. If you suspect that Fido is overheated, don’t immerse him in cold water. The water trapped in the haircoat will warm and act as insulation against the cooling intent, actually working in reverse. Rather, station him in front of a fan and mist him with ice cold water. Do this briefly and then stop all cooling efforts — the process continues even after you stop. I cannot emphasize this enough. A very brief effort is all it takes to get a dog’s temperature down. Obviously, the best way to prevent overheating is to keep Spot in a controlled and cool environment. You’ll be the coolest owner around if you just do that.

Wash off with warm water and then apply a thin coat of vitamin E to your lips. Whether you’re making up or not, once you use this all-natural lip softener you’ll be good and ready to get good and kissed.

Feng Shui News for Aug. 23 – 'Pluto Demoted Day'

I don’t care what anyone says, Pluto will always be a full-fledged planet to me. If you feel the same, then disregard today’s ‘Pluto Demoted Day’ energies and celebrate that power of that planet. One way to invite its powerful energies of into your life is to find an image of Pluto’s glyph and then replicate it in cornmeal on the threshold of your front entryway. If your entry is a part of common property then sweep the cornmeal up after a day but if your front door faces outdoors, then just allow the cornmeal to organically blow away with the wind. This is an ancient and powerful way to invite the power of Pluto into your life.

Daily Feng Shui News for Aug. 22nd – 'Be An Angel Day'

On  maybe you’d like to call on one to make your wishes come true. Author and angel historian JoAnn Cornug shares that Angel Xexor is your ally in bringing magic and manifestation to whatever you wish. Be specific with what you want when you call on him and he will answer, especially if you call this way: ‘I am a witness to God’s Miracle every instant of every day.’ Invoke Xexor three times before saying this prayer and then be careful what you wish for, because now it’s coming true.

Today's I Ching Hexagram for Aug. 22nd is 53: A Steady Pace

53: A Steady Pace

Thursday, Aug 22nd, 2013

Like an ancient old-growth forest — where the subtle play of light, texture and shadows is the product of a process measured in centuries and inches — most things of lasting value develop gradually, at their own pace. The ability to learn from experience — one of humanity’s greatest capacities — implies constant yet gradual progress. The combination of stillness within and determination without are the essence of this dynamic. Good things sometimes sprout quickly; the truly delightful take much longer.

The principle of gradual development applies also to human relationships. For love and marriage or any important partnership to endure, progress must be slow but steady: slow enough to allow for the bonds to knit properly; steady enough to keep moving in the right direction.

You can’t expect to have everything all at once. Development must be allowed to take its proper course and allotted time; events must neither be rushed nor manipulated, but allowed to unfold naturally. In this way, you will come to enjoy long-lasting relationships and achieve success.

Daily Feng News for Aug. 21 – 'Radio Day'

Perhaps you’ve heard me share my monthly insights on the various national radio shows I contribute to. One of the ways that I secured all this media was to make sure that my ‘Helpful People’ area was activated and energized. Today’s ‘Radio Day’ energies remind me to share exactly how I trigger excellent opportunities from that arena. String six clear quartz crystals together and simply hang them in the ‘Helpful People’ location. Then dial in as people start bringing new opportunities right to you.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for Aug. 18: 'Serendipity Day'

I don’t believe in serendipity. I thought it apropos to share this fact today, since it is ‘Serendipity Day.’ I believe that the things you put your complete attention and focus on are what create every situation and circumstance in your life. Surround yourself with images of the people, places and things that you would like to see integrated into your existence and then don’t be surprised when they ‘serendipitously’ show up.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for Aug. 17: "Leo & The Sun"

If you’re an astrology aficionado like me, you know that we are now traveling through Leo, the zodiac sign most associated with the sun. In ancient times the Sun was worshipped as a god and was considered the giver of all life. The sun is said to be able to bring leadership, pride, ambition, confidence and high energy. Feng Shui says that we can enjoy all those blessings simply by representing some symbol of the sun in the ‘Fame’ area of home or office. Particularly powerful for aspiring authors or media professionals, this philosophy says that positioning a sun-shaped (or even a sunflower-shaped) mirror into the ‘Fame’ space can bring publishing contracts as well as recognition and rewards. Shiny!

Daily Feng Shui News for Aug 16th – "National Hug Your Boss Day"

I’m not saying you have to hug anyone on ‘National Hug Your Boss Day,’ but you should create an intention to hug someone since hugging offers so many healthy benefits. One hug can increase the amount of hemoglobin in your blood, which helps to speed healing while boosting the immune system. Some recent studies reveal that hugs can make you happier, as they’re believed to increase the amount of oxytocin, the hormone responsible for reducing anxiety and inducing a state of quiet and calm. Hugs also help produce serotonin and dopamine, two more hormones that increase happiness and lift your mood. So, whether it’s your boss or not, give someone a hug today. It literally does a body good.

Daily Feng Shui News for August 15th – 'Relaxation Day'

Now here’s a day after my own heart, mind and soul! It’s ‘Relaxation Day,’ which must also mean it’s time for a nice long soak to wash worry, tension and anxiety down the drain. Run a bath and add one tablespoon of sesame oil to the water. Place two tablespoons of uncooked rice and one chopped, unpeeled raw potato in a net and suspend this net in the water. Lie down in the bath and close your eyes while focusing your attention and concentration on the end of your coccyx. Massage the soles of your feet while doing this. According to ancient tradition, blending chi acupressure and bathing will enhance beauty, prevent aging and be good for your overall health. Now, relax, and go take this beautiful bath.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for August 12 – "Peridot"

The birthstone most associated with August is the peridot, a beautiful green gemstone that is sometimes mistaken as an emerald. According to ancient traditions, wearing a peridot close to the skin will reduce stress of all sorts while also freeing the mind from anger and guilt. It has also long been believed that wearing peridot jewelry can slow the aging process while increasing endurance, confidence and self-esteem. This gemstone brings those blessings even if you weren’t born in August, so if this information rings true, then this might just be the most perfect jewelry for you.

Daily Feng Shui News for Aug. 9th – 'Book Lover's Day'

On this ‘Book Lover’s Day’ I thought I might share an ancient and intuitive technique for using a book to answer any of life’s concerning questions. A South American shaman once showed me how to employ these energies in my own life, so now I’d like to take a page out of that book and share this technique with you. Whenever you have a pressing personal or professional question that you just cannot seem to find a solution to, you should first grab the first book that you see. Then sit quietly in a chair with your feet planted firmly on the ground and your back straight. Keeping the book on your lap, place your left hand atop the cover and silently ask your question. Wait a few minutes and then open the book to any page. Write down the very first sentences that you see. Those sentences will have the answer to your question contained within them. This technique has always worked well for me, especially whenever I’m moving into new chapters of my life. I hope it offers a wonderful reading experience for you too.

Today’s energies make it the perfect day to activate the ‘power of eight’ inside your living space. Download an infinity symbol and trace over it eight times with a gold ink marker or pen. Place this image upright (never lying on its side) in the ‘Wealth’ area of your office, living room or even in the upper left hand side of your desk. It is believed that when placed with intention on this day, this symbol will bring great abundance, good health, wonderful relationships and protection from things that go bump in the night.

Whether in a cubicle or an office, this philosophy says that you should always draw your eye to your ‘lucky’ corner. Find the corner opposite your entryway and place something beautiful or inspiring there. This could be as simple as a flowering plant or even inspirational, like a picture of a mentor. Daily Feng Shui News for July 29th – 'Rain Day'

There’s never any drought of magical rituals inside these daily tips and today’s ‘Rain Day’ will be no different. The Bari people from the Sudan Nile, a people who indeed know something about the need for rain, fill a bell with water and sprinkle it on the earth in order to make it rain. If ‘make it rain’ doesn’t mean throwing fat stacks of cash around, but rather that we need more moisture, then ring this bell before ringing out the clothes hanging on the outside line.

Your Daily I Ching Hexagram for July 29th is 42: Increase

42: Increase

Monday, Jul 29th, 2013

hexagram09

Substantial progress and increasing prosperity is pointed to. In whatever forms it takes, periods of increase are exhilarating, as long as you go with the flow while it lasts and keep the interests of others in mind. Like white water on a river, periods of increase are often of short duration; it furthers one, therefore, to shoot the rapids now, while the opportunity is there.

A good sense of direction in times of opportunity involves commitment to the needs of one’s cohorts and dependents. Only by realizing that to lead is really to serve, can an effective leader contribute to a lasting increase in prosperity for all. In times of general increase, those who contribute most directly to the common good will also receive the greatest rewards.

When opportunities for increase arise, supreme good fortune comes to those who act swiftly and boldly, while avoiding the trap of letting their actions be only self-serving. If you aspire to a position of prominence, the most enduring strategy is to work to raise the tide of your entire pond, rather than to try to swim upstream on your own.

When the times favor prosperity, and when leadership is in the hands of the broad-minded, supreme good fortune results.

Daily Feng Shui News for July 26th – 'One Voice Day'

There’s no better time than ‘One Voice Day’ to share some ancient wisdom from the Eastern Ayurvedic tradition. This healing modality says that we should spend some time each day intoning each of the vowels in the modern day alphabet. Elongate the vowels for an extended period of time in order to fine tune your brain, balance your breath, reduce your heart rate and infuse yourself with an overall sense of well-being. These A’s, E’s, I’s and O’s are tremendously good for U!
