A Thought for Today

Today, dear Sisters, Brothers and Guest, I leave you with this thought

Everyone of us can make a difference for fighting against Mother Earth’s decline.

Blessed be

A Thought for Today

We can help the most by showing society we are peaceful, loving people just like everyone should be.

We can help be leading by example living in harmony with Mother Earth and doing all we can to help her heal. Such as recycling anything we use that has that option, pick up others track including cigarette butts when out for a walk or hiking. Use earth friendly laundry soap, liquid fabric softener, dish soap, body soap (bar or gel), shampoo, paper products made at least in part with recycled paper.

We can help by saying hi or just smiling at people We walk pass or inter act with.

Please share your thoughts or things you already do to live in better harmony with all living things. Especially the talking humans who can really get under your skin.

Blessed be dear Sisters, Brothers, and Guest.

A Thought for Today,

We need to remember as the sands of time move onward to take time out for ourselves during the hustle and bustle of of every day life.

Blessed be dear Sisters, Brothers, and Guests.

A Thought for Today

Today I leave you with this thought

If you look at how the human body is made you will see we are walking, taking pentagrams. Our head is Spirit, the left arm is Air, the left leg is Earth, the right leg is Fire, and the right arm is Water. We represent our spiritual walk of life every day and do not even have to wear religious inspired jewelry to show we are proud Pagans.

A Sunday Flashback from Lady of the Abyss

Today our beloved Lady Abyss was in my thoughts when I woke up and so I thought it might be nice to repost something from her. This is from Sunday, February 17, 2019. When you read this post keep in mind I am not asking for money for WOTC or anyone else but this posts reminds us of what a caring and loving person our Lady was.

“Good Sunday Morning To All Our Brothers & Sisters of The Craft! May The Goddess Fill Your Life With Blessings Today & Always!

Well had you thought we had run off and left the country? No, you ain’t that lucky, lol! It has been a wild couple of days, I can say that. There were suppose to be posted on here daily so you would know the site was still alive but…..oh, well, here I go back to the old saying, “when the cat’s away, the mice will play.” Since I saw there hadn’t been any posts on the site in the last few days, I decided to take a break from building our new store and come and aggravate y’all for a bit, lucky, lucky, lucky! Your luck has never been so good has it.

As I stated the last few days have been rather wild and that is putting it mildly. I am sure I have mentioned it before but for those of you who are new here, I will mention it again. The WOTC is not only active on-line it is active off-line as well. We help out local food banks, help the Elderly with some of their expenses throughout the money(since they are on limited incomes) and we still take in a stray or wild animals on occasions. I am an animal lover, can’t help myself when we get one of those calls. A call that an animal is in distress or going to be shot if something isn’t don’t with it, I am Johnny-on-the-spot. But that is just a few of the things we do off-line.

I have my reasons for bringing up some of the things we do off-line because of a phone call I received Thursday. It was a phone call from two local elderly sisters who are witches themselves. We have helped them out off and on when they needed it. They called Friday because they needed our help. Even though our funds are gone and I mean, gone, gone. I couldn’t refuse them and I told them I would see what I could do for them. Neither one of the sisters have ever married, they only have each other, no family left. They feel like I am their family because when my mother was alive I remember us stopping by to visit them on our way to town. They were quite a bit younger than my mother but they were witches so she made a point of visiting them when she could. The live on the other side of county from where we are now. I can still remember going to their house. On both sides of the gravel road leading to their house was nothing put trees. Thick trees, in fact, it looked like a forest with a path cut through it. Then the house was a house built out of wood. Honestly it looked like the house from Hansel and Gretel, seriously. The only difference the house from the fairy tale was in much better shape. I took them some groceries recently and it still looks the same except it had a few boards that had come loose. I had Lord M with me and he fixed the boards for the sisters. You get the idea, these sisters do not have much money coming in at all and are basically just surviving day to day,

Now back to the phone call, one of the sister (Mildred) called and asked if we could talk for a minute. I told her sure anytime, she knew that. She was upset and I could tell that. I was afraid something had happened to her sister but thankfully that wasn’t the case. She was upset because she had received a $538.00 electricity bill, I told her I didn’t doubt it because our bill had been outrageous this month. She told me that they didn’t have the money to pay it. I asked her if she had talked to the light company and she said no. I told her to give me a minute and I would call them and see what I could do. I called the electric company, which by the way is a Co-Op. A Co-Op is suppose to be owned by its members and the members are suppose to have some rights and say so in how it is run. I talked to one of the ladies there and she was just down right rude. She told me that the sisters would have to pay the full amount of the bill or have their power cut off. It is in the low 20’s and they are going to cut off two elderly ladies’ power. Really? I asked to talk to a supervisor. The supervisor was a little nicer. She asked me how much could they pay that day and then call back and make payment arrangements before the next disconnect notice came due. Well I told her I could pay $50.00 on it. That was all I had and I gladly did it. The supervisor made a note on their account that payment arrangements would follow. I called the sisters back and told them what I had done. They were delighted. I told them to be sure to call back before the disconnect notice was due to make payment arrangements or else they would be out to cut them off. Well they called back to make the arrangements and I got another phone call. Mildred was upset to no end. She told me the lady told her that she had to pay $180.00 that day and then the remaining balance would be stretched out to the 28th of this month. Of course, the poor sisters did not have the money nor did I.

After I talked to Mildred, I called the power company. By this time, I was mad as an old wet hen. I had already pulled up the law in regards to utilities company disconnecting people in the Winter months. The law states that no one can be disconnected between the Winter months of November through February of each year. It also went on to state that if a person in the household was disabled, elderly or needed the electricity for live saving equipment then the power could not be cut off either. I informed the supervisor of this and she said since they were a Co-Op they could do as they pleased. The law didn’t apply to them. Which, of course, we had a hardy disagreement over that. I asked them when the next Co-Op meeting was and I would be there with bells on. I also wrote the County representative over this matter but I have not heard back from him yet. It didn’t matter what I had to say to this woman, she told me they either pay the bill or else they would be disconnected.

Now can you imagine that? Two elderly sisters, one 82 and the 84, fragile and thin, living in a 100 year old house(which has cracks everywhere you look) getting their power shut off? I could not believe the cruelty or inhumane treatment coming from this supervisor or the electric company. What it all boils down too, is that if these ladies do not come up with the money to pay their power bill, they will be disconnected probably either Monday or Tuesday. We are flat broke or else I wouldn’t have been beating my brains out trying to rebuild the store. I need your help, these sisters need your help. It would absolutely kill me to think that they got their power cut off. They wouldn’t leave their home to save them. They would stay there and try to survive. Survive they wouldn’t, they would freeze to death. I can’t let that happen. I am asking that you help me by assisting them in trying to pay their power bill, Later on, when we get back on our feet, we plan on insulating the house for them but right now we have to worry about the power being cut off. I am not asking for myself but I am asking for these dear, sweet old ladies. If you could meet them you would fall in love with them. Just listening to their stories, then learning witchcraft from them and just basically stories about the old days. They are wonderful, beautiful human beings and for the power company to do this is just wrong. I plan on going to the Co-Op meeting and I also plan on pursuing this at every level of government in this town. This treatment of the elderly is oh, so wrong and I plan on making a huge stink about it. But right now, we have no choice but to try to pay the bill.

I said I would never beg you for money. I am not begging for myself, I am begging for these two wonderful ladies. Will you please help me raise the money to keep their power from being shut-off. It is the middle of Winter, they need their heat to survive. They still have many years ahead of them and to think of them freezing to death is killing me. I am asking for your help in assisting them to keep their power on. I know it is a hard time for everyone but we can’t let our Elderly be treated like this. Hell, they will take a dog in off the streets but they won’t keep our elderly warm by just leaving their heat on. It is pathetic. These sisters desperately need your help. If they knew I was telling their story, they would be mad as heck at me. They are proud women and they don’t like asking for a hand out. I told them it wouldn’t be a hand out but a hand up. They had did so much for the Pagan community around here, I feel that it is only right that we try to help them. No matter what you can give, it all adds up and hopefully we will be able to keep their power on during these cold days ahead.

Thank you so very much,

Lady of the Abyss”

Insomnia

How many people out there have suffered from this wonderful word. What are the causes, they are as varied as the cures. is it stress, anxiety, depression or a child or parent that is sick and needing tender loving care.

What are the cures that you know of, certain teas, no caffeine after 6, melatonin, and then there is the serious stuff, prescription meds, Ambiant and others, ugh.

I have been suffering from this the last couple of months getting somewhere between 3-5 hours of sleep a night. taking multiple bathroom breaks, trying a little food, maybe watching a rerun for a bit to get my mind to quiet, I have become the queen of solitaire at 2 in the morning lol.

So what to do, what has helped get me through this is to think how lucky I am, I have a loving family worried about my health and looking up remedies for me. I have my health in every other way, I can do most everything I need to do in a days time, although my family worries about all the work i do lol, I try to use the time to lay quietly and think about what the goddess would like for me to do, what steps she wishes for me to take, am i following my heart and making the decisions that are right for me or am i making decisions for others that are leading to more stress and anxiety.

I am lucky in so many ways and although I do wish I had never heard the word insomnia I try to remember all my blessing and not the few trials and tribulations that I am facing along the way. I hope the insomnia will pass but at the same time try and understand that the new day can and will be a good day depending on my attitude when i do get the day started

A Thought and Chuckle for Your Day

I know we all have days we feel like this I think Pug.

My advice sit, outside in the sun for about 20 minutes and ask Ra (or your preferred name for the Sun God) for his energy. Plus you will get you daily needed

Plus you will get you daily needed allowance of Vitamin D.

So a Win-Win all the way around. Please remember to leave a small offering, such as some water poured on the ground or if you have any type of rock garden add as small stone to it. As you do thank the Sun God for his energy and warmth.

May your slumber be restful and your dreams all pleasant ones.

Love, light and blessings dear ones.

I have a challenge of showing you care for others. Copy and paste the following on to your page: What could truly make us at least a little more content in our isolation is for each of us to reach out via any social media platform picking 6 people at random we don’t know and leave them a kind message so they know they are not alone. Also, attach this challenge with your message of kindness. Then in a comment on your post of the challenge list the first name, social media platform used, and country, they live in. Silly things have gone viral let us try to get something meaningful to go viral. Are you ready to spread kindness and hopefully easy someone’s loneliness?

I did mine through another social media platform.

A Thought for Today – Have You Thought to Thank Your Health Care Team?

In this time of uncertainty, stress, and worry about the possibility of you, a loved one, friend, neighbor, co-workers, etc getting the COVID-19 virus that we may forget our own health care team we see for whatever ailments we get or chronic conditions we may have. If you have a way, even if it is a note by snail mail, to thank your personal health care team and their support team that will not interfer with other patients that need to contact them because or illness or injury or whatever than please make sure to thank them. Besides thanking them for their selfness hard work keep them in your daily prayers, meditation, or whatever you call it when you communicate with the Goddess and/or God ask that they and their family stay healthy.

This is a small way to help these wonderful, caring people to know their efforts not just now with this strain of a coronavirus running rampant but them being there for you and others 24/7/365.

I was able to do this through a phone app for the umbrella group my doctor and her group practice they belong to called My Chart. I also plan to send a thank you for all you to do not just to my doctor and the health care team but addressed to the entire office to include the offices support stuff also. The support staff to me includes the receptionist, billing, etc. Without these people the office could not run as smoothly.

If you chose to accept this I send blessings to you and your family for good health, less stress, and positive energy.

A Thought for More Than Just Today

Priestess Hypatia and got to talk for a while Wednesday late afternoon. Physically she and her family are. But just as probably most Australians emotionally tore up with what has happened to their beautiful country basically needlessly. If the government would have been listening to the ingenious residents of many centuries and allowed those, to my way of thinking, who are learned and professional bush burners to keep the land productive with controlled burns that do not kill and destroy needlessly.

Aboriginal method to control fire

I ask each person reading this to pray or talk to or however you choose to communicate with the God or Goddess of your choice asking that they help open the closed minds of those with power and even those without open their minds to listen to the elders that have had instructions handed down from generation to generation on how to burn the bush in a manner that is safe for Mother Earth and her inhabitants.

Priestess Hypatia also told me there is talk of the ingenious elders teaching people from the USA how to safely do controlled burning to keep us from having out of control wildfires. Which to me would be answering many Californians prayers, especially those that have lost everything in a wildfire some people more than once.

In Wisconsin when I was a child, as you enter it from another state, in most rest areas along major highways, and in other locations they have very big signs of Smokey the Bear with his ranger hat on and a dirt shovel in his hands with his famous saying “Only you can prevent forest fires.” and blow that the risk of fire for that day in different colors depending on the level of risk for a spark or a carelessly thrown out burning cigarette or lightening or anything else that could start a fire. Even though we do not hear about fires in Wisconsin I have seen a couple and as a child I was terrified and as an adult just very angry at whoever the careless person had been. These fires I saw would be only a tiny drop in the bucket compared to the fires in Australia that burned so huge and hot as to create their own weather systems and kill even the seeds that would make the plants and trees starting to grow in the next year or so.

Us as humans, supposedly the smartest animal on this planted, need to learn that “new, improved modern ways” are not always better especially when it to caring for and living in harmony with all living things. We need to listen to the ingenious people who have inhabited the lands we live on for the best way to keep the land and I do not mean just the piece of land your own, as Priestess Hypatia told the land is the whole country around you not just your tiny piece of it, but your state, country, and continent you live in is also something we all need to take better care of. Than maybe…hopefully we will go back to when controlled burns were done instead of uncontrollable wildfires burning, actually having a distinction between the 4 seasons, enough rain globally for crops to grow, humans, domestic and wild animals would have clean water to drink, humans in what we consider 3rd world countries could live as their ancestors did and manage the land and fresh water in such away we would not see commercials asking for donations to feed hungry children or adults. It is time we look back before the industrial revolution to see how things with the land were done not just for the betterment of Mother Earth but for the betterment of all living things that grow upon her. It is time to quit raping the land and to again start caring about it.

So, please in your daily communication with whoever the Goddess and/or God you commune with ask for enlightenment not only for others but for yourself as well to open minds globally to listen to the elders of the land on the old ways of keeping Mother Earth healthy and living in harmony with her. Thank you for doing this!

Blessed be dear ones.

Continuation of the story ….

I met my gf when she facebooked me and asked about the rumors of me being trans.  As we talked more and more she said she wouldnt mind dating a trans person if i was interested so we got to know one another and she invited me to Indy Pagan Day where her coven was putting on a ritual.  It sounded like a good time and I was exploring alternate religions so I went out and attended the event and also attended her ritual.  I enjoyed the pomp and circumstance of the ritual  coming from a Catholic background and it increased my interest in pagan holidays and esbats.  We talked later and I let her know I would be willing to attend another ritual as they did most of their rituals publicly if her.

The next open ritual that they had was Samain and I was hooked, we attended the ritual I enjoyed myself as far as the learning process went and enjoyed the other people in the group.  After this ritual though things started going south for me and the gf and we broke up right before Yule and because of this I only attended one ritual with her coven.  At the time I was hoping to continue the process with her coven but as the timed passed I saw that this was not going to be possible bc of the drama.

This caused me to explore other options for my spirituality and I found an on line coven to belong to for my education and a guild in a different city for my socialization.  I still do almost nothing witchy in Indy bc I do not want to run the chance of running into my ex gf.

I have written bf on the differences between a guild and a coven and would be more than willing to answer questions in either area.  I will also take question on my trans journey.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day, sun has come out here, and it is fairly warm for the end of december

Dawn of the Day

A newbie witch explaining her path

Well everyone its Dawn of the day again, Last time we spoke we talked about the difference between a guild and a coven as I have belonged to both.  Today I thought I would take a different look and talk about some of my first steps on the path.

One of the reasons I was drawn to the pagan path in my early exploration was that I was not happy with the mainline religions and the discrimination they showed to the LGBT community.  I tried to live my life correctly by Christian standards for 45 years belonging to their religions, worshiping as they wanted, and even buying in that being trans was not wrong as long as I did not dress in the clothes that I found were most comfortable.

When i reached about 45 i started my “mid life crisis” where I wanted to start dressing more in the clothes that I found proper and was in such a place that I was willing to give up family, friends, social organizations, religion and even my job as a high school teacher.  The other choice for this though was death, I had already picked out the where and how I just had to decide the when.

About this time two things happened just about in unison, one was that I decided to go see a therapist to determine exactly what i was, within two appointments I was diagnosed as trans and told I could start hormone replacement as soon as i wanted.  The second was that I meet a witch and lover and with her help we started exploring the pagan/wiccan path.

Even though the relationship ended badly and I do not care to ever see her again she did show me a religion that was accepting of everyone and one that I did not have to pretend to be someone else for.  Through her guidance she put me on the first steps of my wiccan path which has increased my knowledge of the gods and and how to better work with the goddess as I move down my path of life.
