You will need:

A smooth, black stone
A beeswax candle
A small plastic bag
Approximately 1/2 cup of soil
A piece of twine

Spell:

In your home, on the setting of the sun, on the morning of a Thursday, light your beeswax candle and place it on a flat surface, preferably a tabletop.

Form a small pile of soil and lay your stone on top of it on the tabletop, not too near the candle. Next, speak aloud the following words:

Earth of birth,
Breath of death,
Guard the holder,
Of this stone.

Next, place the stone and the soil in the plastic bag and tie it closed with the twine. Then extinguish the candle.

Hide the bag of soil with the stone in it in a safe place for three days, Then remove the stone from the bag and dump the soil onto the ground outdoors. Carry the stone with you as a guard stone.

Spell for Today – A Give me the Money! Spell

A Give me the Money! Spell

Fiona Horne

Witch, A Magickal Journey

Money is something everyone wants; and this is a spell not only for enough money, but also for lots of money! It requires strong powers of visualization and a firm belief that you deserve prosperity.

Do this spell on a Thursday at midday when the sun’s energy is peaking, and during a waxing moon phase.

You will need:

* Liquid Paper

*3 green candles;

*A colour photocopy of a blank recent personal bank statement (first photocopy, then *liquid paper out the balance amounts, then photocopy again so that you have a blank

statement);

*1 green ribbon;

*9 drops of bergamot oil;

*1 teaspoon of dried dill

*1 teaspoon of dried sage;

*A typewriter or word processor and printer.

Before you start your spell ritual, have a good think about money and your relationship with it – do you feel it is hard to get? Do you feel that the more you earn, the more you spend? Do you have enough to live comfortably, but you want to live more comfortably? Are all your friends not very well off, so you feel you can’t be either? Erase any thought processes that are limiting your prosperity.

Now, decide exactly what sort of money you want to have. When I did this spell I summed up my situation by realizing that I only ever dealt in $100s – I would earn $100 for a show with my old band; $200 for an article I wrote; $600 for an old guitar that I sold; my bank balance only ever had an amount in the hundreds (or less!) in it. I decided that I wanted to deal in $1000s. It’s worth pointing out that there’s no point in being greedy when doing this sort of spell, not just because it’s tacky but also because greed only exists in a mind that is constantly in a battle against poverty. And that attitude is going to undermine the belief that the spell will work; that is, it’s going to enormously lessen the chances of it working. Often money spells work best when they’re either for a special purpose (for example, a trip you feel you really need to take, or a car if you’re in genuine need of one) or as a continuing thing just to keep the income coming in. A clear attitude that acknowledges that resources can always be called in when needed, rather than a panicky, one-off “major Lotto win”kind of approach, is going to be more effective.

Bearing all this in mind, decide what your money goals are type up a new bank statement, like this,

Transaction CashCheque Current Balance

Deposit $2,000.00

Deposit $1,300.00 Withdrawal

Deposit $5,700.00

$2,000.00

$2,000.00

$4,000.00

$5,300.00

$3,300.00

$9,000.00

or however your statement is presented. Make it look real; use your typewriter or computer and printer, so that it convinces you that this is possible.

When you have completed this, get ready for your ritual by showering (wash away the past) and dressing in your favorite clothes and perfume or aftershave. You want to feel fantastic and capable of taking on the world!

Cast Circle and anoint each of the green candles with three drops of bergamot oil, then set them up in a triangle on your altar. Place your new bank balance statement in front of these and sprinkle the dill and sage in a deosil (sunwise) circle on it as you repeat until all the herbs are on the paper: ‘Prosperous is my rightful state, there is no limit to the money I make.’

Now, raise power in whatever way you choose, for example: chanting “money, come to me, money, come to me” over and over; sense your desire start as a burning sensation in your feet, and building through you until you feel you are going to explode. At the point where you can’t take it any more hold your hands over the triangle of candles, channeling the energy into their flames and the bank statement.

Say: ‘Fire, speed my wish to me.’

Now drip three drops of wax from each candle in the centre of the circle of herbs on the bank statement.

Fold the statement into a wallet shape, sealing the herbs within, and wrap the ribbon around it three times, tying it off with nine knots.

Keep the money charm where you file your bank statements and for the next two Wednesdays before you go to bed light the candles again, hold the charm and repeat the mantra, ‘Money come to me’ for three minutes or so.

As you do this visualize yourself going to the bank to deposit your desired sums of money. At the end of those two weeks leave the charm with your bank statements and go about your business.

When I did this spell I noticed a distinct turn-around in my financial situation within three months. All of a sudden I started getting offered more money for the same jobs. I found myself not being so tight, and realizing that the more I spent, secure in the knowledge that I was prosperous; the more money came my way.

Moon Alert

There are no restrictions to shopping or important decisions today. The Moon is in Gemini.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Today you are upbeat and energetic, especially mentally. (Clever you.) You’re full of ideas and you want others to listen to them. However, you might come on a bit strong. Nevertheless, your take on things will be positive and enthusiastic, especially about travel, social media and education.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

You will work hard to boost your earnings today because this is important to you. (Today you’re keeping score.) Your wealth or earnings seem to be a measure of your work. Something going on behind the scenes, possibly assistance from a group, might help you.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Today the Moon is in your sign lined up with fiery Mars, which makes you fast talking, fast acting, and slightly irritable with anyone who isn’t moving as fast as you can. Hey, cut people some slack. Actually, this is an excellent day to interact with groups, conferences and organizations.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

You feel agitated about something going on behind the scenes today. This is why you might be impatient with others. I once heard a wise teacher say, “Negativity is wanting things to be different from the way they are.” Why not trying to switch gears? Appreciate what works.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

You’re effective (and possibly, a bit bossy) dealing with groups of people today, or interacting with a friend. Quite likely, you are carried away with your own enthusiasm about something because you want others to climb on board. You’re thinking big! (This might involve the media or travel.)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

People notice you today, because you’re pumped and raring to go! Actually, your strong ambitious energy might be a tad aggressive when viewed by a boss or someone in authority. (Might they feel threatened?) Keep this in mind. Nevertheless, today you can effectively influence groups. Use this wisely.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

You have a strong urge to travel or do something different today because you’re hungry for a change of scenery. You’re restless. You need the thrill of doing something exciting. You want adventure! (“Shall we dance?”) Guard against being so impulsive that you might have later regrets. Oops.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

You are prepared to fight for your rights today, especially in discussions about shared property, inheritances, taxes, debt or insurance issues. (All that red-tape stuff.) You feel strongly about getting your fair share of something, which is why you’re ready to speak up. Oh yeah.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Be patient with close friends and partners today because you might meet someone who is aggressive. If you’re lucky, they’re just enthusiastic. If you’re not so lucky, they’re definitely in your face. Take a breath and scope out the situation until you know what’s going on. Get the full picture.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

You’re keen to work today! In fact, you might feel driven. It’s important to know that you will probably accomplish more by cooperating with others and engineering a group effort. “More hands make light work.”

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This is a playful, romantic, passionate day! That’s why you will go out of your way to have fun. It’s also a strong day for sports and competitive athletics because you want to win. (You certainly don’t want to lose.) Enlist the help of others, if you can.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

You want to do things a certain way today, especially at home or with your family. This is why you might be coming on a bit strong. Let’s face it, you’ve got an agenda, and you want the cooperation of others to meet your requirements and wishes. Good luck!

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actor John Thaw (1942-2002) shares your birthday today. You are passionate about everything you do, sometimes even reckless and impulsive. (But you take responsibility for your actions.) You are determined and not daunted by challenges. This year is slower paced that time to rejuvenate yourself. Concentrate on your post relationships and your needs and what brings you happiness.

Moon Alert

Avoid shopping or making important decisions from 5 PM to 10 PM EST today (2 PM to 7 PM PST). After that, the Moon moves from Taurus into Gemini.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

This is a tricky day because it’s a good day for financial wheeling and dealing and making purchases. Nevertheless, be aware of the restrictions of the Moon Alert. (See above.) Act, but act carefully.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

This is a good day to finish an old writing project or revise previous travel plans. Meanwhile, it’s easy to impress others, which is why you might strike up a flirtation with a boss. (You feel sympathetic and empathetic with others today.)

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

With Mars in your sign, you can go after what you want. And what you want in the next few weeks is a chance to travel for pleasure! You want to see the world and have adventure! Really, you need a change of scenery. Even if it’s just the next town.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Ex-partners or an old friend from the past might be in the picture today. (Probably a female.) Meanwhile, romantic affection is strong! Who knows where this combination will lead? Be aware there’s an element of confusion and doubt present. Don’t do anything you will later regret.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Although you are working hard now, Mercury retrograde will create silly, stupid mistakes as well as delays and misplaced items. Just grin and bear it because this won’t last for long. On the upside, it can help you finish old business.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

This is a playful, creative day! Some will be titillated by flirtations with an old flame or flattered to hear from someone from the past. Give free rein to your creative ideas. Enjoy social outings, especially with old friends, as well as sports events and fun times with kids.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

You might be in touch with a relative you haven’t talked to for a while. This is a good day to tackle home repairs that you’ve been meaning to do. However, it’s also a lovely day to schmooze and have fun with friends. Enjoy!

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

A conversation with siblings or relatives you haven’t seen for a while is likely today. Quite possibly, you are entertaining at home? You might also redecorate where you live because you want to socialize with family right now. Stock the fridge.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Today is a good day to wrap up old financial matters or deal with loose ends. Meanwhile, your ability to communicate with neighbours and relatives is excellent because you feel genuine affection for others. You also appreciate your daily surroundings more than usual.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

You’re in charge of things because the Sun is in your sign. However, Mercury retrograde is also in your sign causing you to make silly, goofy mistakes, misplaced things and arrive late at meetings. (Embarrassing.) You might like to shop for beautiful things today. If so – check the Moon Alert. (See above.)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Be aware that today is an excellent day for you to buy wardrobe items for yourself. However, there is a Moon Alert today. Simply avoid that window of time and shop for something that makes you look great in the eyes of others. (Hey — you never get a second chance to make a first impression.)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

You might be in contact with an old friend today or a member of a group to which you belong or used to belong. Whatever happens, you will find that you feel sympathetic and interested in what this person is to say. If you can help them – you will.

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actress Tia Carrere (1967) shares your birthday today. You are generous and caring. Because you are ambitious and have high expectations for yourself, you work hard. This will be a thrilling year for you because it’s the first year of a fresh nine-year cycle for you. Therefore, be open to new avenues. Open new doorways. Be courageous and adventurous!

A Thought for Today

The Various Colors of Witchcraft – White Magick

The White Witch

O brothers mine, take care! Take care!
The great white witch rides out to-night.
Trust not your prowess nor your strength,
Your only safety lies in flight;
For in her glance there is a snare,
And in her smile there is a blight.

The great white witch you have not seen?
Then, younger brothers mine, forsooth,
Like nursery children you have looked
For ancient hag and snaggle-tooth;
But no, not so; the witch appears
In all the glowing charms of youth.

Her lips are like carnations, red,
Her face like new-born lilies, fair,
Her eyes like ocean waters, blue,
She moves with subtle grace and air,
And all about her head there floats
The golden glory of her hair.

But though she always thus appears
In form of youth and mood of mirth,
Unnumbered centuries are hers,
The infant planets saw her birth;
The child of throbbing Life is she,
Twin sister to the greedy earth.

And back behind those smiling lips,
And down within those laughing eyes,
And underneath the soft caress
Of hand and voice and purring sighs,
The shadow of the panther lurks,
The spirit of the vampire lies.

For I have seen the great white witch,
And she has led me to her lair,
And I have kissed her red, red lips
And cruel face so white and fair;
Around me she has twined her arms,
And bound me with her yellow hair.

I felt those red lips burn and sear
My body like a living coal;
Obeyed the power of those eyes
As the needle trembles to the pole;
And did not care although I felt
The strength go ebbing from my soul.

Oh! she has seen your strong young limbs,
And heard your laughter loud and gay,
And in your voices she has caught
The echo of a far-off day,
When man was closer to the earth;
And she has marked you for her prey.

She feels the old Antaean strength
In you, the great dynamic beat
Of primal passions, and she sees
In you the last besieged retreat
Of love relentless, lusty, fierce,
Love pain-ecstatic, cruel-sweet.

O, brothers mine, take care! Take care!
The great white witch rides out to-night.
O, younger brothers mine, beware!
Look not upon her beauty bright;
For in her glance there is a snare,
And in her smile there is a blight.

White Witchcraft

White magic has traditionally referred to the use of supernatural powers or magic for selfless purposes. With respect to the philosophy of left-hand path and right-hand path, white magic is the benevolent counterpart of malicious black magic. Because of its ties to traditional pagan nature worship, white magic is often also referred to as “natural magic”.

In his 1978 book, A History of White Magic, recognised occult author Gareth Knight traces the origins of white magic to early adaptations of paleolithic religion and early religious history in general, including the polytheistic traditions of Ancient Egypt and the later monotheistic ideas of Judaism and early Christianity.

In particular, he traced many of the traditions of white magic to the early worship of local “gods and goddesses of fertility and vegetation who were usually worshipped at hill-top shrines” and were “attractive to a nomadic race settling down to an agricultural existence”. He focuses in particular on the nomadic Hebrew-speaking tribes and suggests that early Jews saw the worship of such deities more in terms of atavism than evil. It was only when the polytheistic and pagan Roman Empire began to expand that Jewish leaders began to rally against those ideas.

During the Renaissance
By the late 15th century, natural magic “had become much discussed in high-cultural circles”. “Followers” of Marsilio Ficino advocated the existence of spiritual beings and spirits in general, though many such theories ran counter to the ideas of the later Age of Enlightenment. While Ficino and his supporters were treated with hostility by the Roman Catholic Church, the Church itself also acknowledged the existence of such beings; such acknowledgement was the crux of campaigns against witchcraft. Ficino, though, theorised a “purely natural” magic that did not require the invocation of spirits, malevolent or malicious. In doing so, he came into conflict with Johannes Trithemius who refused to believe in Ficino’s theory but created spells and incantations of his own related to beneficial communication with spirits. His works, including the Steganographia, were not published until the 17th century and were then immediately placed on the Index Librorum Prohibitorum where they remained until the 20th century. Trithemius’ “disciple” Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa was responsible for publishing some of his work and in turn created his own. His work included the De occulta philosophia libri tres which contained an outline of, among other things, classical elements, numerology, astrology and kabbalah and detailed ways of utilizing these relationships and laws in medicine, scrying, alchemy and rituals and ceremonies. Giambattista della Porta expanded on many of these ideas in his Magia Naturalis.

It is the coming-together of these ideas – early “natural” religions and later philosophical thinking – that Knight suggests is “at the root of the Western tradition of white magic”. Also at the root of white magic are symbols and religious symbolism in particular. The star, Knight gives as example, was of critical importance to Jewish tradition and then to early Christians (like the Star of David) and to later Masonic tradition and Neo-paganism.It continues to be of importance of white magic practitioners in the form of the pentagram and night-time ritual.

Zambelli goes further and suggests that white magic – though then not specifically distinct from its counterpart black magic – grew as the more acceptable form of occult and pagan study in the era of the Inquisition and anti-witchcraft sentiment. If black magic was that which involved Trithemius’ invocation of demons, Ficino’s “purely natural” white magic could be framed as the study of “natural” phenomena in general with no evil or irreligious intent whatsoever. Zambelli places academics like Giordano Bruno in this category of “clandestine” practitioners of magic.

Modern interpretations
In his 2009 book, Magic and Alchemy, Robert M. Place provides a broad modern definition of both black and white magic, preferring instead to refer to them as “high magic” (white) and “low magic” (black) based primarily on intentions of the practitioner employing them. His modern definition maintains that the purpose of white magic is to “do good” or to “bring the practitioner to a higher spiritual state” of enlightenment or consciousness. He acknowledges, though, that this broader definition (of “high” and “low”) suffers from prejudices as good-intentioned folk magic may be considered “low” while ceremonial magic involving expensive or exclusive components may be considered by some as “high magic”, regardless of intent.

According to Place, effectively all prehistoric shamanistic magic was “helping” white magic and thus the basic essence of that magic forms the framework of modern white magic: curing illness or injury, divining the future or interpreting dreams, finding lost items, appeasing spirits, controlling weather or harvest and generating good luck or well-being.

Goddess worship
Though not exclusively a female pursuit, modern white magic is often associated with stereotypically feminine concepts like that of a Mother goddess, fae, nature spirits, oneness with nature and goddess worship.In modern stories or fairy tales, the idea of “white witchcraft” is often associated with a kindly grandmother or caring motherly spirit. The link between white magic and a Mother Earth is a regular theme of practitioner Marian Green’s written work.

White Witchcraft

Practiced to provide good intentions to the people around you.

The practitioners are often said to have a Wiccan faith. This is a religion which is guided by modern pagan beliefs. It allows one to look in the earth and aspire for its development.

Practitioners believe in the threefold return. This belief says that for every good action you make, the return of this is three times in magnitude. This also applies in the bad side. However Wiccan practice does not encourage bad practices in life.

Practitioners normally utilize prayers and rituals. They use spells to provide luck to the people around them.

Practitioners also use objects which are highly useful for witchcraft. Some witches utilize talismans and crystals. They are said to benefit a lot from such objects.

Understanding White Witchcraft

White witchcraft is a common theme in movies and TV stories, but it’s a bit more of a tricky subject than you might think. If you have already done some study into Wicca or witchcraft, you probably already have a little introduction into the differences between black and white magic spells.

If you have decided to work with white witchcraft, that generally means you will only cast spells with positive intention and not do any hexing or curses. Of course, not everything can be labelled quite so neatly and you may have some thinking to do about your intentions when it gets into some of those in-between gray areas.

A curse is a clear type of “black magic” but what about a binding to just keep someone away from you? Some would say that it’s not harmful, but some might still see it as a negative approach to interfering with another person’s free will.
Some people feel that the whole concept of white magic is impossible to achieve anyway because everything you do will effect someone else, and that can end up with all kinds of consequences that go way beyond your original intentions.

Instead of worrying about the details, just live your life in a good way and don’t deliberately try to hurt people. That’s usually good enough. Of course, sometimes other people deserve some negative energy but that’s another topic altogether.

Sometimes people add the “white witchcraft” label to themselves just to make other people feel less nervous. So many people misunderstand what witchcraft is that they need a little (meaningless) assurance that we’re not evil.

So if you are looking to get involved in white witchcraft, that really just means you have a positive attitude when you cast spells and that you never seek to harm another person. Pretty much all the spells on this site would fall into that category, but I do have a few pages specifically on white magick spells that you can check out.

White Witches

White magic is different from black magic because of its purposes. While the latter induces harm or pain from the other party, white magic is cast for the welfare or the good of the person who will benefit from it. Fortunately, a white witch has more power than a black witch. In this case, we can expect that the good will always win over the bad.

For what purpose do White witches use White Magic?
For its great deal of power, white magic is used to bring good or protect people from black magic curses or spells. A white witch also uses her power to destroy or break any types of black magic. White magic protects an individual from the harms caused by black magic.

There are certain spells and magic that white witches can do for you. One of them is the love spell which is the most popular among other spells because we all deserved to feel love and to love. It is the most in-demand forms of white magic as it is to cast love spells on the apple of your eyes. Also, it is used to bring back lost love, to strengthen an existing bond, or to attract a new lover.

In addition, it also protects people in a relationship. For instance, couples can get the services of a white witch to protect their marriage and prevent them from getting separated or divorced. Aside from that, there are also specific cases you can be helped by white witches like lost love, soul mate, anti-lying spells, and lust, among others.

Aside from relationship spells, there are also things your white witch can do when it comes to money and finances. It is another in-demand branch of white magic that is commonly used- money spells.

If you want to become a successful businessman, it is one of the beat spells that you can have because it can take your business and financial status to the next level especially if you follow procedure instructed by your white witch. This type of white magic is one of the most commonly requested by people when it comes to their economic status.

This type of spell will drive money to you; thus, adding more fund onto your bank account. If you need some financial gain this year, hire an expert witch to perform this spell for you. Aside from helping you get more money, you will also have the chance to manage your business effectively.

Moreover, there is also the healing spell that your white witch can perform for you in order to get you rid off your sickness. It is also one of the most requested types of white spells that you can ask from your expert witch.

If you’re loved one is sick, you can also consult this witch to help him recover from his sickness, pain, or injury. This type of healing spell is used to help people who are affected by a certain disorder in their emotional, mental, or physical being.

These are three of the most prominent spells that your white witch can perform for you. To guarantee perfect and desired results, you have to make sure that you also have the pure intention.

January 2, 2023 Moon Goddess Current Phase

Believe it or not we cannot find just a Moon phase calendar for January 2023, and I have tried a lot of different keywords to search. So, we are going to use this same Moon phase calendar all year long.

You can use this link to go forward or backward in time for Moon phase information. If you are curious, you can even find out what phase the Moon was in when you or anyone else was born.

From MoonGiant.com

The Moon’s current phase for today and tonight is a Waxing Gibbous phase. Visible through most of the night sky setting a few hours before sunrise. This phase is when the moon is more than 50% illuminated but not yet a Full Moon. The phase lasts about 7 days with the moon becoming more illuminated each day until the Full Moon. During a Waxing Gibbous the moon rises in the east in mid-afternoon and is high in the eastern sky at sunset. The word Gibbous first appeared in the 14th century and has its roots in the Latin word “gibbosus” meaning humpbacked.

Visit the January 2023 Moon Phases Calendar to see all the daily moon phase for this month.

Today’s Waxing Gibbous Phase

The Waxing Gibbous on January 2 has an illumination of 83%. This is the percentage of the Moon illuminated by the Sun. The illumination is constantly changing and can vary up to 10% a day. On January 2 the Moon is 10.71 days old. This refers to how many days it has been since the last New Moon. It takes 29.53 days for the Moon to orbit the Earth and go through the lunar cycle of all 8 Moon phases.

What Planets Will Be Retrograde January 2023?

Here we go — the astrology of January is looking much better than the previous few months, and in more ways than one. January not only marks the end of three retrogrades, but once these planets begin to move forward again, there will officially be zero retrogrades taking place for the remainder of the month. That’s pretty unheard of, considering eight out of the 10 planets are consistently moving back and forth across the sky — so be sure to enjoy it while it lasts.

Mars, the planet of hostility, assertion, and confrontation will finally be ending its retrograde and stationing direct in Gemini in January, and Mercury, the planet of communication, thoughts, and ideas, will be stationing direct in Capricorn just a few days later. Uranus, an outer planet, will also be stationing direct in Taurus this month, but it’s bound to be less noticeable, since this planet is retrograde for five months every year anyway.

While Uranus retrogrades are pretty common (and thus less noticeable), Mercury and Mars retrogrades are in fact, very noticeable. Mars in particular has been retracing its steps through Gemini since Oct. 30, making it difficult to resolve conflict and handle heated encounters with ease. Mercury retrograde has been going on since Dec. 29, and while the planet of communication retrogrades roughly three times each year, it doesn’t make the delays, misunderstandings, and mishaps any less frustrating. The good thing is, once these three planets end their retrogrades, you’ll experience a surge in energy and mental clarity — just in time to set your New Years’ resolutions in motion.

What Is A Retrograde?

Retrogrades take place when a planet reduces speed in the sky, appearing to move backwards. While they can’t actually turn around and move in the opposite direction, the slowness of a planet that typically moves swiftly tends to affect everyone in major ways, bringing up some potential challenges. For example, when Mercury stations retrograde, communicating effectively as well as processing information can become more difficult. Since Mercury and Mars are inner planets, their retrogrades tend to be much more noticeable, since they’re so close to Earth that they can be seen with a naked eye. Outer planets, like Uranus, retrograde for much longer, but since they’re further away from Earth, we don’t notice the effects as much.
