Daily Feng Shui Tip for May 30 – “Water a Flower Day”

It’s ironic that today would be ‘Water a Flower Day’ since everybody knows that April showers bring May flowers. The floral most associated with this month is the regal magnolia, a tree native to the southern United States. It’s generally acknowledged that spring doesn’t begin until the magnolias bloom, and that splendid beauty and dignity accompanies every opening bud. This flower has long symbolized beauty, perseverance and nobility. Feng Shui has always believed that the white magnolia represents purity, and that a single magnolia tree planted in the front of the house will bring pure contentment and joy. A magnolia tree grown in the back garden is said to symbolize hidden jewels or the gradual accumulation of wealth. But the single greatest Feng Shui cure for using this beautiful flower is to bring a mate or partner who will also bring love everlasting. Placing a pair of magnolia flowers in the Romance area of the main floor or bedroom is believed to attract a mate for life, and a union that will forever bloom and grow. There’s hope worth watering!

Daily Feng Shui Tip for Thursday, May 24th

I have two brothers. My older brother, Bob, is one of the best friends a girl (or guy) could ever have. He has my back on every conceivable front and I love him for that. I am also fortunate enough to say that my younger brother, Dave, is also one of my best friends. Both of these men play very important roles in my life. I am exceedingly grateful that my brothers and I have so much in common, get along so wonderfully well and love each other as much as we do. But that doesn’t mean that we don’t have normal family squabbles and even some knock down fights. On those rare occasions when we’re not seeing eye to eye, I step back and trigger the energies of my home’s Family/Friends/Ancestors area in order to set the agenda right. One way I do this is to place a photo of the three of us together in a wooden frame. Wood is the element associated with the Family area in Feng Shui. It speaks to and symbolizes roots and the family tree. I will then, in efforts to bring back the brotherly love, place three small and healthy green plants in the vicinity surrounding that family photo while waiting for all animosity to disappear! This fabulous Feng Shui cure never fails to bring friendship back to the family agenda!

Types of Chakras

The simplistic position asserts that there is only one type of chakra, or at best two (major and minor). This in fact is quite incorrect, and comes from the obscure nature of the aura and the subtle body (yogic anatomy), and the fact that the different grades, organs, strata, and so on are frequently confused and jumbled, owing to a lack of an overall systematic framework.

It seems to me that there are at least five different chakra series (and probably more). These are:

  1. The Seven Primary Major Chakras – these are archetypal and pertain to “”emanational” levels of Consciousness and Being – the “inner subtle, causal and supracausal being. In each of these regions or hypostases they represent the original microcosmic vertical axis (“Mount Meru”), and contain (links to) gods and major planes of existence
  2. The Tan Tien (“Cauldren” for the processing of ch’i), of which there are at least three, which seem to constitute the etheric counterparts of the Primary Chakras, and are located with the body.
  3. The (at least 18, if not much more) Secondary Major Chakras. These are etheric and pertain to the Eso Being. They ideally constitute – or rather can be awakened into – a rhythmic microcosmic orbit (although this is very rarely the case because of congested energy flow etc)
  4. The ten(?) important “chakras” (if they can be called such) are obviously also associated with the internal organs. Chinese medicine speaks of the five pairs (one major and one minor) of internal organs, each pair associated with specific correspondences such as an emotion, a taste, colour, cardinal point, etc etc. These body chakras would seem to constitute a different series again.
  5. A larger number of Tertiary, Minor Chakras. These are associated with acupunture points, sensitive points in the body, etc
  6. An even much larger number of Quaternary, Quinternary etc chakras (minor acupuncture points etc), associated along the meridians

Daily Feng Shui Tip for May 22nd – National Maritime Day

On ‘National Maritime Day’ you just know that I have to share a special Feng Shui way to make your own ship come in! According to this philosophy, a small statue or model (rather than an image or picture) of a sailing ship is considered a powerful symbol of incoming prosperity and abundance. Position your boatload of incoming luck immediately inside the front door with the bow or front of the ship pointing inward into the living space to bring wealth and abundance to your door. You can keep this boat on your altar for nine days, burning incense and asking with prayerful sincerity for this ship to bring a boost to your bottom line. On the tenth day, position the symbol inside the front door and then be ready when money-making opportunities come knocking!

Your Daily Feng Shui Tip for May 21st

Daily Feng Shui Tip

I remember with great fondness my days as a waitress in Caldwell, New Jersey. Because I’m so proud of that past, today I want to share a money making tip on ‘National Waiters and Waitresses Day.’ This is a tip that I use whenever I need a quick infusion of cash. Pour five different kinds of uncooked rice into any glass, ceramic or crystal bowl or vase (no metal or plastics) and fill to about seventy percent capacity. For the next thirty days, at the end of each day, take all the accumulated coins that you have received that day and add it to the top of the container of rice. On the final day, count up all the change and then give ten percent to charity. Or give twenty percent to your favorite waiter or waitress. Even if this totals less than a dollar, it’s the act that counts. Then all you have to do is to wait for bigger and better career opportunities to come your way. But if you skip a day you must begin the entire process over again! Feng Shui says this daily tip will have you celebrating your career as quickly as possible!

Daily Feng Shui Tip for May 18 – “No Dirty Dishes Day”

‘No Dirty Dishes Day’ brings to mind some Feng Shui advice about earthenware, china or other dishes. According to this philosophy, using cracked or chipped dishes or drinkware can contribute to negative money luck in your life. Conversely, keeping dishes clean, neatly stacked and in great condition can also bring you a banquet of fortune that includes plates of cash! If you have old or broken dishes in your home, now would be the time to retire them so you can do the same in the foreseeable future!

Daily Feng Shui Tip for May 16 – Wear Purple for Peace Day

Even though today is ‘Wear Purple for Peace Day,’ Feng Shui says that you can also look at it, paint with it, accessorize with it or even meditate upon it for a host of other reasons. This philosophy also maintains that working with purple should be done in moderation, as it is considered a color with a strong and powerful vibration. It’s the color most associated with connecting with the spirit realms, so it’s a good hue for accessing intuition or answers from angels, guides or guardians. Feng Shui also says that painting an entire wall or a large area purple could trigger a blood disease or worse. Again, use this hue sparingly unless it is the main accent in a meditation or contemplation space. Lighter tones like lavender are more acceptable in a living space. Wearing the color purple is associated with wealth, nobility, magic and sexuality. It symbolizes power, wisdom, mystery and magic, and conveys abundance, extravagance and wealth. Apparently Alice Walker understood the implications of the color purple, and now you can too.

Daily OM for May 11 – Rain

Rain
Cleansing Nature

by Madisyn Taylor

On the next rainy day, imagine the rain washing away and cleansing your emotional body.

There are times when we might feel the need to wash away all of our troubles and call forth freshness into our lives. Since perhaps the most cleansing substance on this earth is water, we can think of the joy rain brings as an energetic bath, rejuvenating our minds, bodies and souls. Just being able to spend a few moments every time it rains to become aware of the healing powers water brings to us can renew us in so many ways. As we do this we will find that the more we appreciate the universe’s gift to us in the form of rain, the more we can see that a gentle rain shower is a strong reflective tool that has the ability to cleanse our entire being.

The next time it rains might be a good chance to experience the rain through all of your senses, allowing you to truly understand just how truly important each and every drop of water is. First, take a few minutes to look outside and notice how each individual raindrop seems to come down in a continual stream. By noticing this you can contemplate how it takes many small accomplishments to create the whole of your existence, for nothing exists in isolation. Then you might wish to focus your attention on the sound of the rainfall, letting the sounds of drops penetrate into the innermost recesses of your self. Listening in this way may bring you a greater sense of connection with nature and the world around you, knowing that the sounds you hear are an integral part of not just the physical sustenance you require but also nourish your spirit as well.

Consciously using our senses to feel nature’s healing energy as it comes to us in the form of rain is an act of internal cleansing. Just as the rain physically washes over the earth and rinses out any impurities and imperfections, so it also bathes our spirit in the joy that comes from knowing that we are in fact one with the world around us.

Daily OM for April 16th – Touch

Touch
Healing Our Bodies

Incorporating human touch in to our everyday lives is vital to the healing of our emotional and physical selves.

Sometimes we might concentrate so much on our spiritual lives that we overlook the wonders of being present in our physical form. When we are more aware of the fact that our bodies are also important in terms of our personal growth, we may find it easier to nurture them. One of the most powerful ways to do this is through human touch, for a loving, comforting touch allows us to access the part of ourselves that yearns for a sense of oneness with the world around us. Even simple forms of touch connect us not just to our bodies but also to the energetic presence of other people.

There are so many ways to incorporate touch in our daily lives, one of the easiest being a heartfelt embrace. Just making a point to hug someone on a daily basis and really feel our energy pass between each other can strengthen the bonds that keep us together. Hugs help us heal any hurt or upset we may have recently experienced by letting us release into the moment of the embrace and realize that no matter what happens to us, we have someone in our lives who supports and cares for us.

Another nourishing form of touch is massage. While we may think of massage as a luxury, it is actually an ancient form of healing that enables us to open up our energetic pathways in order to receive unlimited energy from the universe. It doesn’t matter whether a simple massage comes from a loved one or a massage therapist, but by giving ourselves the gift of massage every once in a while, we are doing something healthy and beneficial for our bodies. Massage helps our bodies activate their own restorative powers, creating a wonderful way to engage fully in our own healing.

Letting ourselves take advantage of the healing nature of touch creates space where we can truly live in and experience the world through our bodies, allowing us to completely immerse ourselves in the loving sense of joy and wonder that is our life.

Your Daily Cosmic Calendar for March 29th

Since my own mother and father actually owned one of these, I am honored to offer advice for positive energies to infuse today’s ‘National Mom and Pop Business Day.’ There is actually a secret Feng Shui cure that promises Mom and Pop some success if they follow this empowering and effective tip. First, the owner will need a white vase with nine, eighteen or twenty-seven inches of red ribbon tied around it. A traditional Feng Shui bamboo flute with red ribbon tied around it will also be needed (real Feng Shui bamboo flutes come with a red tassel or red string tied around them). This magic flute gets put inside the white vase, and then, starting at the front entryway to the business, the owners should carry the vase with the flute in a clockwise direction around the entire perimeter of the space. The vase should then be placed in proximity to the place where payments will be accepted, be that a cash register, computer or even an accountant’s office. Either way, once the flute and vase are positioned in their proper place it won’t be long before the business owner’s assets make music to their ears! Strike up the band small business owners, this one’s for you!

Rainbow Meditation

Colours are waves of light energy that have direct physiological and psychological effects. We can use them in meditation to influence our feelings and perceptions. To perform this meditation, choose a hue that represents the qualities, you would like to cultivate in that particular moment. Then cut a square or circle from a piece of paper or fabric in that shade and use the shape as a fous for your meditation.

Alternative, focus on a coloured object allowing the color rather than the form to dominate your consciousness, or visualize a colour, allowing it to fill your mind.

9 Feng Shui Ways to Enhance Your Wealth

9 Feng Shui Ways to Enhance Your Wealth

  • Erica Sofrina

By Erica Sofrina, Author of the book Small Changes, Dynamic Results! Feng Shui for the Western World.

Welcome to my series on how to locate and enhance the nine key Feng Shui energy centers of your home. In this article I will show you how to identify and activate the area that corresponds to your wealth and prosperity.

Feng Shui has many practical applications that are logical, simple and even obvious, of which I have written many articles about. The more mysterious and esoteric part of Feng Shui is the study of the Bagua. This wisdom comes from the I Ching, or The Book of Changes.

The ancient Feng Shui masters felt there were certain parts of the home that corresponded to key areas of the lives of its occupants. By working with these energy centers you could A- identify what was going on in that area of your life, and B- enhance it by putting objects there that would encourage the chi (energy) to become activated.

The I Ching is a profound and esoteric study in its self, and has been used over the centuries as a method of divining right action. It incorporates both yin and yang expressions and is used to study and contemplate the process of change and inner development.

The portion that relates to Feng Shui has to do with charting the nine energy centers of your home by using what is called the Bagua Map.

By learning how to work with and identify these energy centers in our homes, we can become conscious co-creators of our lives.

Bagua translated means eight trigrams. These trigrams refer to important areas of our lives such as wealth, health, love, career, self-cultivation, fame, creativity, helpful people, etc. In this article I will talk about how to locate and activate and enhance the wealth area of the Bagua.

Wealth and Prosperity Defined

The trigram connected to wealth and prosperity in the I Ching is called SUN. It is about the deep roots of financial stability and calm security in terms of one’s personal wealth. A key component is gratefulness; being grateful before as well as after the money comes. It is not about fast money but the slow, steady, honest accumulation of wealth, along with the things we truly value in life. It is not about making the monthly bills (this is connected to the Health and Family area) but the abundance of prosperity, such as luxury items, vacations, those seminars you have been dying to take, and anything that is a want rather than a necessity.

Nine Suggestions to Enhance Your Wealth Area

Once you locate the wealth area of your home (directions below), take a look at what is happening there. Is this where there is a lot of clutter, or where the junk closet resides? Perhaps it is in a dingy bathroom or missing all together from the Bagua of your home? (this is addressed in the Bagua lay-out section)

Feng Shui teaches that the outer environment will always reflect our inner environment. By cleaning it up, clearing it out, making it beautiful and adding the enhancers, you activate this area of the Bagua and thus the extra money area of your life is activated as well.

Environmental affirmations are objects we put into our space that either reflects something we want to bring into our lives, or keep there. Use these environmental affirmations to vitalize the wealth area of your home once you have taken care of the ‘splinters’ such as clutter, broken things, missing areas, etc.

Here are nine suggestions of objects you can add to your wealth area that will activate the chi:

  • Items that call in the Chi (energy)
  • Inspiring Art and other items that depict the things we want to bring into our lives in terms of wealth. An example might be a favorite picture of Tuscany if you wants to travel there, the tropical paradise picture for a much-desired Hawaiian vacation.
  • Quotes and affirmations pertaining to wealth written in present tense, as if it is true now!
  • Fountains, waterfalls and water features or pictures of flowing water. (Flowing water represents money in Feng Shui)
  • Articles you love that you might have paid a lot of money for, i.e., a favorite vase, coin collection, jewelry or artwork. (Or items that look like you paid a lot for them!)
  • Healthy plants with shiny, round coin-shaped leaves such as jade plants.
  • Personal wealth symbols reflective of your own taste and culture. (If you are not Chinese, symbols from your own culture may have a deeper meaning rather than Chinese coins, gold fish or ‘lucky bamboo’)
  • Objects in purples, reds and greens symbolizing wealth and money. Purple Amethysts and crystals are wonderful wealth chi enhancers. Add purple accessories, colors and fabrics to this area, provided you like the color purple* (Purple includes plum, lavender, lapis blues, etc.)
  • Create vision boards and collages depicting the objects you want to bring into your life in terms of wealth. * Note: never put anything into your space that you do not love just because a Feng Shui book or article told you to do so! The goal of Feng Shui is to create a living space that feeds your soul and uplifts your spirits. Objects you don’t love will have the opposite effect. The more personal the objects are to you, the more chi they will generate.

How to Put the Bagua Map onto your Home and Identify your Wealth Area

Here are step-by-step instructions for how to put the Bagua Map onto the floor plan of you home and locate your personal wealth energy center:

1. Draw a sketch of the floor plan of your space. This should be the birds-eye view as if you are looking down on it. Include all built-on decks, stairways and attached garages.

2. Draw a square or rectangle over the floor plan in the shape of the Bagua map. All of the areas of the home need to be within the square or rectangle. If your home is an irregular shape, still draw the rectangle or square around it.

3. Stand at the front door with the map perpendicular to the floor with the Entrance Quadrant touching your stomach. This will tell you the direction to overlay the Bagua map onto the floor plan of your home.

4. Now divide your home with the Bagua map overlaid on it in nine equal sections. This will identify for you where all of the key nine areas are of your home are. The wealth area will always be the far left quadrant of the home and the Love and Marriage the far right section, etc.

5. If your home is not a rectangle or square, you may be missing areas of the Bagua. If this is the case, you can do a mini-Bagua for each room of your home and enhance the wealth corner of each room. Treat the main entrance to the room like you would the front door of the home and lay the Bagua accordingly. This energetically brings back into the space the missing area.

6. If you have more than one floor of your home, what ever is below is above. You do not turn the Bagua differently for each floor. In which case you may have more than one wealth area, the same rules of enhancement apply to all areas!

Angel Healing Spell

Angel Healing Spell

Before beginning a healing spell always say:

“Spirit, please assist in this healing for ______
If they are to receive this healing energy
Then guide my thoughts and words to them
If they are not to receive this healing energy
Please give the energy to someone else who is in need.
You know best.”

Take a picture, statue or any symbol of an angel. Cleanse and consecrate it,
then empower it in the name of healing. Ask the angel of healing, or your
Guardian angel to help the sick person. Tell them that you are giving this as a
gift to the sick person and ask for their blessing and healing energy on that
person and the angel.

A Healing Method

A Healing Method

Concentrate on the area in need of healing. Close your eyes, concentrating
and repeat the following or a variation there of;

“Great God Apollo, God of Medicine and Healing,
Hear this servant’s prayer. Heal me oh God of medicine. Touch me and pull
the sickness out.
Make me well with your cleansing touch. Heal me.
Make me well.”

Repeat as many times as you want. Concentrate on Apollo actually touching
and taking out the sickness. Don’t forget to thank him and maybe leave a
small offering.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for Jan. 13th

Today I want to marry two different energies in the hopes of achieving one single and loving result. It’s both ‘Rubber Ducky Day’ and ‘Make A Dream Come True Day’ and if your dream is to find the perfect partner, then a ducky or two can actually do exactly that. According to Feng Shui, Mandarin ducks have long been traditional symbols of love, specifically signifying romance, fidelity, and loyalty. These ducks mate for life and are always seen as loving and loyal pairs. Therefore, the symbols of ducks are often used to help single folks find partners and marital bliss. Positioned near their owners, these ducks are said to emit such a strong love Shi that the owner will then become more attractive, especially to potential partners. To activate more romance luck by using Mandarin ducks you should display a pair in the Romance area of the main floor or bedroom, or even put a pair in that same space in the living or dining room areas. Birds of a feather might stick together, but two ducks will bring a life-long partner to help you feather your own nest!

Daily Feng Shui Tip for January 12th

I’ve discovered that today’s energies celebrate the ‘Feast of Fabulous Wild Men Day.’ Now, in the case that you’re a single gal and not experiencing your own feast of fabulously wild men, it’s time to take matters into your own hands so that one of them will soon be holding yours. First, some Feng Shui basics. Paint the walls of your bedroom a shade of pink, coral or salmon. For single women looking to partner up, using these colors in the bedroom is believed to quickly reel in those fabulous men. Wearing two rose quartz bracelets on the left arm will do the same thing. Lastly, put an image of two pink peonies immediately outside and to the left your bedroom door (as you’re looking into the room) in order to plant strong intentions for love to bring a bloom to your cheeks. Any one of these fast Feng Shui cures can shift energies over to the engaging side, but doing all of them will have them rolling in the aisles, or at very least, watching you walking down one!

Daily Feng Shui Tip for January 5

Let’s look at some fast Feng Shui facts about the lasting blessings that birds can bring on this ‘National Bird Day.’ According to Feng Shui, all birds actually represent the celestial phoenix; a bird that can crash and burn and then transform itself so it can tell the story again. The ability of the phoenix to rise from the ashes makes this bird a universal symbol of hope, optimism, and possibility. Placing images of any bird (especially the phoenix) into the Fame area of your home will open doors of opportunity that helpful people, places and things will fly right through. And if you’re looking for love, using birds in the bedroom will give that effort wings as well. Birds are excellent love energizers since they are believed to be the magical messengers sent from the ‘God of Marriage’ who lives in the moon. In this case, the phoenix is also the best bird image to use for all romantic pursuits. This philosophy maintains that pairing an image of the phoenix with the all-powerful dragon and positioning it in the Romance/Relationship area of your bedroom will activate one of the most powerful marriage symbols in the entire Feng Shui pantheon. Pairs of lovebirds, mandarin ducks, geese and magpies placed inside this same space can make your heart (and a special someone else’s) take flight. So if you’re ready for your love life to soar, feather your love nest with a pair of partridges and the next carol you’ll be singing will have you and your partner sitting in a real ‘pair’ tree!

Daily Feng Shui Tip for January 2nd

The energies of today’s ‘Run It Up the Flagpole And See if Anyone Salutes Day’ invite you to create your own Feng Shui flags that will both increase the flow of abundance in your life, and dispel chronic or temporary life problems. That’s something to raise the flag about, don’t you think? These ‘Six True Color’ flags are a powerful yet secret cure that purportedly draws its power from the potent Om Mani Padme Hum Buddhist mantra. Each of the words of that mantra relates to a specific color, the same white, red, yellow, green, blue and black that you will use when you construct your flags. Your flags can be any size but should all strive to be the same size. You can use fabric or colored paper, and your flagpoles can also be made from anything, from bamboo to popsicle sticks. Attach one color per pole and arrange the flags in the specific color sequence mentioned above. Repeat or recite the mantra aloud and over the flags to bless and activate them before arranging them on your desk (in a cupholder perhaps?) or in the Wealth area of your home or office. If you decide to use this rarely disclosed Feng Shui cure, then in keeping with the energies of the day, I salute you!
