About Banba: A Celtic War Goddess, Banba extends safety to those who follow her, wilding magic in their support. In Irish
tradition, she protected the land from invaders. As a reward for her sorcery’s assistance. Banba’s name became linked with
ancient poetic designations for parts of Ireland. Interestingly enough, Baba translates as “unplowed land,”
meaning it is left safe and untouched to grow fertile.
 
To Do Today: Considering crime and other societal problems, a little extra protection from Banba seems like something we
could all use year-round. Think of your home and possessions as the “land” she guards. Gather a pinch of dirt from near your residence, take it inside, and keep it in a special spot. Light a candle (white is good) near this anytime you feel you need
Banba’s diligent sheltering.
 
On this day the Scots burn a pole attached to a barrel of tar (a Clavie) and take it around town to banish evil influences,
especially magical ones. The Clavie’s remaining ashes are gathered by people as an anticurse amulet. In keeping with this
custom, burn a small bit of wood (perhaps oak) on a safe fire source. As it burns, recite this incantation:
 
“Banba, burn away negativity, burn away malintent.
Let the energy return from where it was sent.”

You Will Need: 

Three white candles
A picture of the recipient (or write the recipient’s name and birthdate on a piece of
paper, and visualize him/her)
A quartz crystal (optional)
Rose, Eucalyptus, Gardenia or Peppermint incense, for healing

The Irish Goddess Brigid is a healing Goddess, as is the Sumerian Goddess Nanna. You can invoke Her with either of these names before this rite for extra healing power.

The Ritual

Light the candles in a semi-circle in front of you. Place the incense off to one side, and place the picture inside the semi-circle, facing you, with the crystal on it. Breathe deeply to center and then raise energy however works best for you – chanting, singing, drumming, dancing, whatever.

When you have reached your peak energy, direct it to the picture or the piece of paper. It may be helpful to direct the energy through your fingertips, visualizing a healing blue-white light streaming through you and into the recipient. Directing it through a piece of quartz enhances the distance the energy can travel.

Visualize the candles forming a protective ring of fire around the recipient, blocking all harm and pain. Visualize the healing light coming through you and finding the source of the illness or pain in the recipient, coating it, relieving the pain and filling the recipient with energy and life.

You probably will be very tired after this, so eat a piece of fruit or bread and drink some juice or wine to ground and revive yourself.

Thank Goddess It’s Friday! What A Week!

Days Of The Week Comments  Hello dear friends! I don’t know where my brain is today. I have known all morning today is Friday. Then I went to put the graphic up here, I was going to put up a Thursday graphic. I had to check the little calendar in the corner of my computer to make sure it was Friday! I’m I nuts or what? This is what I get for staying up too late. I have a blog that I use strictly for graphics, so I pulled it up. I started browsing through the templates and found one I loved. Well I put it on the blog. I got all the graphics up and the widgets laid out. Then I decided, “Yes, I am going to change the graphics on the main blog!” Now keep in mind, this is at 3:30 a.m. I come over here and start to change things around. Then in the middle of changing things here, it hit me. This new template has all the characteristics as this one. The only difference is the title is in a small fancy banner but everything else is the same. I played with this new template for about 1 1/2 hours. Now in twenty minutes I found out the two are basically the same and I have wasted the night. If I could have kicked my own butt, I would have. I tried to get Kiki (Pom pup) to bite me with no luck. *Note to self: Get a dog big enough to reach rump and willing to bite in extreme situations of stupidity!*

Blessed Thursday To All My Witchy Friends!

Howdy y’all! How’s everyone doing? I hope better than me. I got this bright idea to sit in the floor and do my blogging today. Before it is over with, if the blog turns into a jumbled mess, well it ain’t my fault for a change. All of my fur babies are super jealous of each other. Razzy (kitten) wants me to hold her and scratch her belly. Kiki (Pom pup) wants for me to be petting her at the same time. And the old man, Stinker lies on top of the mouse. It is like it is a conspiracy (and scary), I put the laptop in the floor. Then all three of them surround it. Like, “so you are the thing that takes our momma’s attention way from us, huh?”  As big of brats as these three are, if I turned my back they would pick it up and throw it. I have never seen such brats. But hubby tells me, it’s my fault. I made them the way they are. I admit I did, hey are cute, cuddly and adorable just the way I wanted them, lol!

Hello, my dear friends! It’ Wednesday Again!

Hello, my dearies! How’s your day going today? I hope you are having a very delightful day. It is cold here but at least the sun is finally shining. I raised th blind were the sun could shine on my back. The warmth of the Sun feels so good. I know around here the grass is still green. With the Sun shining and the grass green, just looking you would think Spring is right around the corner. Boy, do I hope so. I don’t like being couped up. I go outside during th day, I get to hear hubby holler, “get back in here, you are going to catch cold!” And he knows how to get me back in too. He stands with the door cracked and there sits my two kitties. I haven’t figured it out yet. I don’t know if they (kitties) want to make a jail break or they are begging me to come back in, lol! There are times it is like a three-ring circus around here. If he puts up a big canvas sign on the side, attaches tires and hooks us to a semi-truck. I running for the hills, lol!

This spell is a cleansing one which uses nothing but sound and can be done anywhere though the open air is better. It will depend on your own sense of yourself what sound you use but the one given is known to be successful.
 
You will need:
  • An open space
  • Your voice

The Spell:

  • Find a spot in which you feel comfortable -within your open space.
  • It will depend on what you are attempting to -get rid of which spot is better. Be sure to take-plenty of time over choosing this until it feels-absolutely right.
  • Settle yourself comfortably on the ground.
  • Take a big deep breath and then breathe out.
  • Your breath out should be slightly longer -than the in breath.
  • Do this three times to clear your lungs
  • Now take a further deep breath and this time -as you exhale say as loudly as you can:

Ahh Ee Oo

  • Repeat the sounds at least twice more -increasing in intensity each time until you are

-actually screaming

  • If you can, continue for two more sets of three

(nine times in all, though six is fine.)

  • Finally sit quietly, place your hands on the

earth or the floor, re-orientate yourself in your

surroundings and absorb fresh energy as you-do so.

  • Become aware of the sounds around you.
  • Leave the area.

This is quite a powerful technique and you do need

to be quiet for the rest of the day, so that you can

allow the energy to settle. The technique is a good

way to deal with the frustrations of your everyday

world and often results in being able to look at

things from a different perspective.

Here’s a little spell to help you get control of your creativity. Prepare your sacred space as normal, then light two yellow or red candles and call upon your muses. Mix a half cup of sand with three teaspoons vervain in a small bowl. On the sand, focus your intention of being block-free. Suffuse the sand completely with your will. Hold an obsidian stone, ring, or pendant in your cupped hands, seeing it as an empty object ready to absorb the sand’s energy. Bury the obsidian in the sand for three days. Keep the stone with you when working, taking it in hand when you feel a creative lapse.

When incense is burned prior to magical workings, fragrant smoke also purifies the altar and the surrounding area of negative, disturbing vibrations. Though such a purification isn’t usually necessary, it, once again, helps create the appropriate mental state necessary for the successful practice of Magic. When the incense is smoldered in a ritual setting it undergoes a transformation. The vibrations, no longer trapped in their physical form, are released into the environment. Their energies, mixing with those who use them, speed out to effect the changes necessary to the manifestation of the Magickal goal.

 

You needn’t limit incense use to ritual, but avoid burning healing incense just for the smell, or to freshen up your stale house. Burning magickally constructed and empowered incenses when they’re not needed is a waste of energy. If you wish to burn a pleasant-smelling incense, compound a household mixture for this purpose.

Happy New Year, Again! I hope everyone is having a fantastic year so far. Everyone had their black-eye peas, cabbage and cornbread, so you will be healthy an wealthy. This a Southern tradition, so you might not do it. But I hope you did whatever you do in your area to make you healthy and wealthy, lol! So many people, so many different traditions, what a diverse world we live in. Ain’t it great!

I am going to try to do something really crazy today. I am going to actually do all my posts today! For the last couple of times I have tried to blog, someone comes in. And of course, not wanting to be a rude witch, I have to stop and entertain them. I think today if it happens, I am going to grab the laptop and run like hell, lol! Blogging on the go, the only way to blog!

Sometimes we do a spell, or do something not in magick, which we
cannot undo, words we cannot take back. No matter, the energy
is still floating, causing damage. You can undo this energy
in a knot spell.

Take a piece of white cord, about 12 inches long and tie three knots
into it. As you tie the knots think of the situation, the deed or
words done which now you cannot undo. When you are done, spread the
cord flat out on a surface and sprinkle some salt over it
and begin to undo the knots and as you undo each say:

“What I said will be unsaid
What I did will be undone.
When the knots are unmade
Will be the magick then be gone.”

Now light a white candle and place the candle inside your cauldron or
a heat resistant censer. Lower the cord slowly into the flame and allow
the cord to be consumed. When done, gather the ashes of the cord
and sprinkle outside.
