Charging Your Tools

What you will need:
The item in which you wish to charge, whether it be some jewelry, your pentacle
or some crystals.

Salt for the Earth element

A candle for the Fire element

Water or rose oil for the Water element

Incense for the element of Air

How to do the ritual:
This is a really simple charging ritual.
You may wish to elaborate on it once you have created your own ritual style!

Start by taking your item that you want to charge and place it in front of you.
Shake or sprinkle a little salt over your item and say the following:

“Earth spirits from the North/South I ask you to charge this …..
with the power of Earth. By the Goddess and/or God so mote it be.”
Imagine a green light filling the item and empowering the item with the
qualities of Earth.
Dip or trickle some water over your item and say this:
“Water spirits from the East/West I ask you to charge this ….. with the power
of Water. By the Goddess and/or God so mote it be.” Imagine a blue ocean like colored light filling the item and empowering the item
with the qualities and power of Water.
Pass the item through the smoke of the incense and say:
“Air spirits from the West/East I ask you to charge this ….. with the power of
Air. By the Goddess and/or God so mote it be.”
Imagine a pale light filling the item and surrounding it. Empowering it with the
powers of Air.
Move the item through the heat above the candle flame and say the following:
“Fire spirits from the South/North I ask you to charge this ….. with the power
of Fire. By the Goddess and/or God so mote it be.”
Imagine a red or orange light filling the item and empowering it with the power
and energy of Fire.

Once you have done this imagine a bright white/blue light surrounding the item
charging it with your own energy.
After this the item will be charged with the elemental powers and your own.
You can now use the item for whatever purpose you needed it.
You can perform this ritual as often as possible.

Venus at the Edge

Explanation: As its June 6 2012 transit begins Earth’s sister planet crosses the edge of the Sun in this stunning view from the Hinode spacecraft. The timing of limb crossings during the rare transits was used historically to triangulate the distance to Venus and determine a value for the Earth-Sun distance called the astronomical unit. Still, modern space-based views like this one show the event against an evocative backdrop of the turbulent solar surface with prominences lofted above the Sun’s edge by twisting magnetic fields. Remarkably, the thin ring of light seen surrounding the planet’s dark silhouette is sunlight refracted by Venus’ thick atmosphere.

Calendar of the Sun for June 9th

9 Lithemonath

Jotunheim Day

Colors: Brown and dark green
Element: Earth
Altar: Upon a brown and green cloth place many potted plants, as if to form a jungle. In their midst place a shallow bowl full of stones and water, a hammer, a horn of mead, and many knives and swords.
Offerings: Leave offerings outside to the land-vaettir.
Daily Meal: Meat.

Jotunheim Invocation

Hail to the land of the Jotun
And all its indwellers in the outlands!
By the cliff-thurses in their mountain crags,
By the rime-thurses in the lands of frost,
By the fire-thurses, children of Surt and Sinmora,
By the skogsrar, the wood-roes of the forest,
By the nackar, the nixies of the many rivers of Hvergelmir,
By the sjora, the spirits of the sacred lakes,
By the forskarlar, the falls-men of the watery heights,
By the duergar who live under the Earth,
By every powerful etin warrior,
By every lovely and terrible etin-bride,
By the power of the land-wights themselves
Upon which all our footsteps fall,
By Utgard and Thrymheim and Gastropnir,
We honor you in all your elemental glory!
Bless us with your courage
And your unswerving persistence,
And your understanding of the natural world
In all its wonder.
Hail, kingdom of Jotunheim, great in magic!

(The mead is passed around, and any who wish to remember the name of a particular Jotun-spirit may do so. The rest is poured out as a libation. Then all take drums and rattles, and gather around in a circle, and let there be drumming and low, wordless chanting for the rest of the hour.)

Current Moon Phase for Saturday, June 9 – Disseminating Moon

Disseminating Moon

(waning /135-90 degrees)

This is a tremendous time of transmutation. All of the prior elements are coming together for a final burst of creative output. You have seen a clear view of your own needs and the posture of significant others. Now the accumulation of that input is leading to a deep, core change within you. In this phase, you will naturally be inclined to seek higher guidance so that you can emerge from this transformation successfully. The Disseminting Moon favors sharing what you have learned (and are learning) with others.

Weekend Lunar Love Horoscope for June 8 – 10

Weekend Love: Lunar Love

 by Jeff Jawer

From Head to Heart

June 8 – 10

There’s a journey from head to heart this weekend, starting on Friday with the brainy Aquarius Moon providing the distance needed to see beyond emotions to gain a more objective picture of relationships. Happily, an imaginative little Mercury-Neptune trine adds creativity to communication and spurs romantic dreams.
There’s a shift in the lunar winds with the Moon’s entry into supersensitive Pisces on Saturday afternoon. This emotionally enveloping sign is most comfortable in the realms of dreams, intuition and spirituality. The Moon’s conjunction with surreal Neptune makes the night perfect for indulging fantasies. Escaping reality may limit good judgment and common sense, but who cares about practicalities when we’re dancing with abandon and loving without limits. However, skin is thinner than usual now, increasing vulnerability and, for some, uncertainty. But this is not the time to worry about tomorrow or even the realities of the moment. Compassion, connection and communion are more important now than whatever the future might bring.
Sunday continues this sweet trend of flowing with feelings. It doesn’t matter who we’re with or what we do as long as we are kind and forgiving. There are no scores to settle or any serious issues to address at this time. Tenderly accompanying someone in his or her moment of need dissolves boundaries and invites intimacy without expectation. There’s no finer gift than the one we receive when we open our hearts to others.

The Earth is Gaia

The Earth is Gaia

Living, breathing, growing

Sentient, conscious, spiritual

In pain

Gaia is my Goddess, my Mother

The soil beneath my feet

The waters that flow and are still

The wind in the trees

The myriads beings that share my home

I am Gaia too

A sentient, spiritual agent in “Gaia-unfolding”

I am here to love, to nurture,

To feel person- and planet-pain, and to heal.

So may it be

Elder’s Meditation of the Day June 6

“We need to save those Elders who cannot speak for themselves — the trees.”

–Haida Gwaii, Traditional Circle of Elders

The trees are the Elders of the Earth. Go to the forest or to the mountains and find a young tree. Then find and old tree. Spend time with each. Sit by the young tree and listen to your thoughts. Then move to an old tree and listen to your thoughts again. Just being in the presence of an old tree, you will feel more calm. Your thoughts will contain wisdom and your answers will be deeper. Why is this so? These old trees know more, have heard more and are the Elders of the Earth. We must ensure these trees live so we can learn from them.

My Creator, help me to protect the trees and listen to them.

Eclipsed Moon Over Wyoming

Credit & Copyright: Mack H. Frost

Explanation: A setting full moon rarely looks like this. Monday morning just before a fully lit  Strawberry Moon dropped behind the  Absaroka Mountain Range near  Cody,  Wyoming,  USA, the  shadow of the Earth got in the way. A similarly setting  partial lunar eclipse was visible throughout most of North and South America, while simultaneously the same  partially darkened moon was visible throughout eastern Asia. Pictured in the foreground is a snowbank formation known as the  Horse’s Head off a tributary of the  Shoshone River. Lunar eclipses occur about twice a year, and the  next one —  a penumbral eclipse —  will occur in late November.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for June 6 – “National Tailors Day”

On this ‘National Tailors Day’ I want to discuss a truly powerful Feng Shui adjustment that uses red thread to bring good fortune. The ‘Four Red Strings’ cure is also activated when you need to confront problems that seem insurmountable. In each corner of the bedroom, hang a piece of red thread from ceiling to floor. These four strings symbolize the legendary columns that Feng Shui says holds up the canopy of heaven. They also represent a mystical connection linking heaven and earth while also invoking the heavens to intercede on your behalf. The object here is to remove obstacles by using the four corners of your bedroom so you can sleep soundly at night. Then fasten a nine-inch piece of red thread at the center point between the ceiling and the floor. Once the strings have been installed, say the secret ‘Om Mani Padme Hum’ mantra nine times for each string while envisioning receiving the assistance you need to overcome obstacles and engage fortunate energies. If you undertake this magical Feng Shui cure, your own silver lining will be all but sewn up!
