Finding Nature in Your Neighborhood

Nature is all around us and there is a plethora in every neighborhood, one only needs to become still and watch.

Because both cities and tightly packed suburbs offer wildlife bountiful nooks and crannies in which to hide, it can be difficult to spot the animals that live in our midst. Many thrive among paved streets, sidewalks, buildings, parking lots, and high-rises. There are animals in abundance burrowing in the soil of center medians and tiny backyard gardens, making nests in the trees that line broad and busy avenues, and buzzing around the flowers that beautify our parks. To find these creatures, we only need to stop, look, and listen. Nature’s drama is continually playing out on the window ledges where weary birds stop to roost, in the shadowy places where cautious nocturnal mammals wait for night’s mantle to fall, and the fountains where playful waterfowl splash and frolic. In observing the animals that share our habitat, we become a part of their beautiful, complex, and exciting world.

WOTC and CL Websites and Coven’s Combined Logo

I am going to use this as the combined logo for WOTC, Coven Life, and Heart’s Spirit Coven as all threes logo as part of a letterhead, places that ask for our logo online, etc.

I picked the Tree of Life because to me not only does it represent As Above, So Below but also how 2 separate websites are coming together as one through the Heart’s Spirit Coven. All who read and/or follow Witches of The Craft and Coven Life whether you practice as a Solitary or in a face to face pagan group are a student with Coven Life, etc you are welcome to join me and the rest of Heart’s Spirit Coven for Open Chats, Esbat and Sabbat celebration gatherings. We do not follow a pure Wiccan path but a path of many different traditions so we are a eclectic coven of Solitary Witches and students who come together for gatherings and to chat.

As you can see WOTC is in yellow for Sun light, Coven Life is in blue for Life Giving water, both of which nourish learning and work together to form Heart’s Spirit Coven and Coven Life’s Witchcraft School. Please let me know over the next week whether or not you like this as a logo or not. This is one channel I have brought you song from in the past and wanted to share the entire channel with you in the hopes you will find a favorite and email me the name and link for it along with whatever name you want to use for me to give credit to you for finding it. Also a short or long story of why the song called to you. Even if it is a song I have previously posted it does not matter because the reason it calls to me will be different then why it calls to you.

Let’s show Lady Abyss how she was loved and honored for making this website possible in the first place in the 1990’s when to be a witch or pagan we had to keep it to ourselves or within our family and/or coven. Witches of The Craft with Lady Abyss at the helm was one of the few pioneers on the world wide web that was brave enough to speak up and out about real witchcraft not the type you see in movies or on TV or read fictional stories about. She got death threats weekly in the beginning which did taper off as other metaphysical and witchcraft websites started showing up on the world wide web but even a week before she crossed to the Summerlands she called to warn me that she had gotten an email threatening everyone who was part of WOTC. A couple of years ago ISIS, the radical group not the Goddess, threaten to cut off her head and display it for all the world to see what would happen to infidels. Did she run and hide NO instead she kept right on bring us new and interesting information from many different traditions of witchcraft. Then she found out that in the spring or summer of 2018 that members of ISIS were literally in the next county over from her. Did she run and hide then? NO she kept on keeping on with her website that she had put so many years and tears into. I will let you in on a secret that since she is not hear to tell me off for saying this, the real reason Lady Abyss sold WOTC was because every day after she was back in her cabin after it had been burnt to the ground by an arsonist all she felt was negativity come from the readers of WOTC and she felt most of you wanted her gone from here. I took WOTC over because I was grateful usually that Lady Abyss talked me into starting my own website COven Life it took her a while and a joke between us was that she twisted so hard it almost broke. I didn’t want to come out of my Solitary practice to take up the mantel of High Priestess to a coven and a mentor to new witches by opening a witchcraft school even though they were both online. I was perfectly happy posting on WOTC and I remember fighting tooth and nail until I just  gave up and gave in to Lady A’s vision for me. NOw I’m the owner of 2 websites, a witchcraft school, online coven, and love it. SO yes, A you were right to push me years ago. So again I ask you to please email me any type of contribution you want to make as part of the WOTC and CL community, not with money but with words, songs, a joke, whatever you feel like submitting as long as it is not erotica which could get this site thrown off of WordPress and believe me that’s the last thing I want to see happen after we all worked so hard to save this legacy of a wonderful, kind, beautiful, and giving woman. Take a minute to think where you might be on your own path if not for these websites and Lady Abyss than raise your cup or glass high and thank her. Earthquakes, Volcanic Eruptions, Wildfires and Climate Changes

While the Australian wildfires are dominating people’s thoughts worldwide let’s take a look at other places on Gaia where she is showing in spectacular ways she is not going to put up with humans ignoring her warnings that climate changes are every where. Yet humans still continue to rape her of trees, plant life, wildlife,entire ecosystems, etc on land in any kind of waterway from the smallest creeks all the way up to our oceans, and the very air our children breathe are being decimated for what for human kind to take more land to cover over with asphalt, concrete, buildings, and large ships to name a few things. Instead of having a what use to be a normal flow of water between the sky and planet through evaporation to precipitation back to evaporation as so the cycle continued being the rain to different locations as their turn came out precipitation cycle no longer has enough land to evaporate the mixture need for precipitation to do it job causing catastrophic droughts and contributing to climate changes which can bring about many different types of horrible changes not only to Gaia but every living thing on her, people starving in record numbers, years of drought sometimes followed by some much rain coming down to fast for the parched planet to make use of instead turns these places into a different type of danger zone with flooding,  landslides, crops ruined, people drowning, people having to evacuate, infecting drinking water with unusual bacteria that kill humans and wildlife.

All of this comes from the growth of “intelligence” by humans starting way back to the first time human mastered fire making up through the present with us not only living in non-harmony with Gaia but with our Universe as a whole because of all the human and space garbage circling Gaia which in turn affects how sunlight is filtered through the stratosphere and astrophere which in turn affects plant life which in turn affects the precipitation cycle. So no matter how much humankind protest that there is no change in the climate or that it is being caused by nature it boils down to the politicians and others raping Gaia on a daily bases instead of living in harmony with all living things, the land, and water that are also entitled to continue living just as humans are. Honestly if the entire planet went back to living in man-made shelters made from fallen trees, our only fuel fallen trees and dead planets, we left it to the people who know when and how to do control burns to nourish Gaia rather than devastate her, tore down most of not all building over three stories high, instead On better mass transportation outside of major cities, grew most of our own foods with remembering to rotate the crops, we’re more careful with the amount of electricity and water we use, consistently recycle everything that can be especially urging were we live to have a recycling program for businesses very slowly but in time picking up speed to start living in harmony with every living creature, plant, tree, etc out children’s children could hopefully start seeing a better world to live on, no more wars, or hunting species to extinction, ect.

Ok sorry I got kind of off-topic. There are other places with catastrophes going on that can use our prayers and positive thoughts and energy being sent to them.

Porto Rico has been trying to come back since more than one hurricanes hit the islands in 2018 have since October been ground zero for numerous earthquakes reading as high as 6.5 On the Rictor Scale.

What can we do to help humans, all wildlife, plants, trees, crops, etc as a community of witches and pagans? First, be very careful about what intention you have in your mind to help a country. YOu do not want your thinking to be on an intention of fire while trying to bring rain to Australia and/or North Korea nor do you want to be thinking of rain when trying to ask Gaia to stop the earthquakes in Porto Rico or the flooding etc in the Southern United States. I will not be putting up prayers or spells for you to tweak into your own words to helps these different countries. You write from the heart ask your Spirit Guides and ancestors to help you find the words you want. We are in the waning Moon cycle which can help your prayers and/or spells be more powerful. But if it feels right to you to do it in the daytime rather than at night the waning Moon is still with us and if you can do it after 1:00 PM your local time the waning Sun will add its energy to your workings as well. I received this letter from my right-hand witch, Priestess Hypatia,On January 5, 2020. I felt as so many have asked for the rains to come to Australia to help put out the wildfires that this email should be shared with everyone.

“Hello dearest Lady Beltane,

THE RAINS ARRIVED!

I can not thank you enough for what you and the Coven members did.
I am so grateful it fills my heart with so much love.
We are fine here in Melbourne, its the rural areas like where my beautiful sister is. The family and many like them were taken by the Navy ships to safety untill the infirno subsided.
This was the place I always visit on a regular basis called Eden.
This is where my beautiful sister had her apothecary farm and livelihood.
The miracle is they are all fine, there home has some damage but still somewhat standing. The farm is all gone but at least they have their lives.
The locals are still on high alert and will be all summer.
Would you believe the fires stopped literaly at their door step.
I can’t visit her as the coast is still burning and very dangerous.
Australia just has to go on and find normality.
The poor wildlife that is suffering now needs to be tackled. “
Please use whatever parts of the following you want to thank all the different Gods and Goddesses that answered our calls to bring rain to help put out Australia’s wildfires that have been burning since October 2019. It is summer there right now so there is a chance of the fires spreading again if they cannot get them all completely put out. So the rain will be needed for a few days to help the firefighters please continue to ask for it to be sent there. I am very thankful to everyone in their own way asked for the rain to come in before the entire continent was nothing but as.

Thanking the Gods and Goddesses for the Rain Falling

LADY BELTANE: I walk this circle in the direction the Sunrises three times to keep those inside the circle safe from harm and to keep the rain energy we raise contained until the circle is open and the rain energy goes to where it is needed most to help put out the wildfires in Australia

EVERYONE: Pick up your beverage and in your own words thank the God and/or Goddess you ask for the rain from, hold the cup high as you conclude you thanks take a sip from your beverage and set it back down. Type in So Mote It Be when done

Pick up your snack and in your own words thank the God and/or Goddess you ask for the rain from hold the snack up high when you conclude these thank yous. Now take a small bite and set it back down. Type in So Mote when you are done. Save the rest of your beverage and snack than go outside to make your offering to all the deities approximately half of your beverage and snack, you should drink and eat the rest outside.

Now we will do a spell/prayer asking for the rains to continue as long as needed

For More Rain

( The intent is to keep in your third eye {middle of your forehead] is to see it rain over the wildfires of Australia but causing no flooding, wash out roads, or any other damage to much rain in one location could cause)

We call upon the ancient Aboriginal God of rain and water

To help douse the wildfires and keep them from spreading any further

We ask that rain only affects the wildfires and does not cause any damage to anything on it is own

We ask that all the people, animals, birds, and reptiles not yet affected by these wildfires escape whole and unharmed

Now get as clear a picture in your mind od the rain helping to put out the wildfires. We will all meditate for 3 minutes on this picture in our minds.

After the 3 minutes or however long you want to meditate on the rain coming to all of Australia say,

Set the container is a safe place where the water will not be spilled. Add more water as needed to keep the map submerged until all the wildfires are completely out. Than turn towards the South ans say, “We send all the energy raised here tonight or morning to the rain clouds over Australia making them larger and more effective at helping to put out the wildfires.” “This is our will for Australia, So Mote It Be” or however you end your own spell work.”

I walk this circle the times in the direction of the setting Sun. The circle is open but never broken. Priestess Hypatia, all the residents, and visitors in Australia thank you for participating in casting this spell for them and all the other living things to be safe and the wildfires to stop growing.

Humans have a strong affinity for the moon. It’s waxing and waning has formed the basis for calendars across continents and cultures. Almanacs charted full moons so farmers could work by its light. The full moon has been affiliated with harvests, festivals, wolves, and insanity. The very word “lunacy” stems from people’s ideas of mental stability and the moon’s phases. Full moons have captured imaginations across cultures and time, and many cultures have named the various full moons. 2020 is notable in that it will not have twelve full moons, but thirteen. The thirteenth full moon is called a blue moon. About every nineteen years, the opposite occurs, in that February will not have a full moon. This is referred to as a black moon. Each moon of the year has its own name and connotations depending on the season.

January’s full moon is often referred to as the Wolf Moon. It can also be called the Moon after Yule, in reference to the pagan holiday of Yule supplanted by Christmas. The early Catholic Church incorporated pagan holidays into their calendar to help conversion, which is why they coincide with holidays like Yule or solstice celebrations. February’s moon is usually called a Snow Moon since it tends to snow a lot in February. Some Native American tribes call it a Hunger Moon due to scarce food supplies.

March’s full moon is called the Worm Moon to signify the return of earthworms in the winter thaw as the season’s transition. Many names are attributed to March’s moon, such Crow Moon, Sap Moon for maple syrup season, and the old Anglo-Saxon term Lenten Moon. As the name implies, the Lenten Moon is the only full moon to occur during Lent. Continuing the Easter theme, an old Anglo-Saxon term for April’s full moon was Paschal Moon, in reference to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The more common name for April’s moon in modern times is Pink Moon, as pink phlox flowers bloom that month.

Whereas April’s moon is for one flower, May’s full moon is called the Flower Moon to signify the massive bloom following April’s rainfall. The less romantic but more practical Corn Planting Moon is another name. As mentioned earlier, farmers like full moons because they can work under its light if the sky is clear. June is called the Strawberry Moon as that month is the peak of the season. Mead Moon is another name, as fermenting started earlier in the year to produce a proper drink. Continuing the new season’s growth, July is often called Buck Moon because male deer’s antlers start growing around this time. Since July often has many thunderstorms, Thunder Moon is another term for July’s full moon.

August, the last full month of summer, has many names related to food and bounty. The Algonquin tribes called it Sturgeon Moon as the lakes filled with fish. The Anglo-Saxons called it the Grain Moon, and some called it the Barley Moon or Green Corn Moon. The importance of the harvest and it’s relation to the moons grows stronger in the autumn. September’s moon is called the Corn Moon, though the Farmer’s Almanac used to refer to it as the Harvest Moon based on the Anglo-Saxon term.

In modern times, the Harvest Moon is in October, and in fact this happens every three years because the Harvest Moon is based on the equinox, not the calendar. Hunter’s Moon is the term for October’s full moon otherwise, since it’s prime hunting season and the time when northern peoples would stock up on meat for the winter. In 2020, the Blue Moon will occur on Halloween, making it even more extraordinary for moon fans.

To end the year, November is often called the Beaver Moon as beavers tend to be the most active in that month. It can also be called the Frost Moon since frost starts to form at night. If November’s full moon is the last before the winter solstice, it is called the Mourning Moon. Winter is often considered a season of death due to the migration of wildlife and trees bereft of leaves. December is aptly called the Cold Moon since winter starts in that month. The Anglo-Saxons once called the full moon the Moon before Yule, in reference to the holiday occurring around the winter solstice as mentioned before. It can also be called the Oak Moon, though this term can also apply to November. Either way, the history of the full moon’s names is long and spans many cultures and traditions.

JANUARY FULL MOON

The very first full moon of the year is known in many cultures as the Full Wolf Moon, which is appropriate given the deep, ancient ties between wolves and January’s full moon. For instance, the Gaelic word for January, Faoilleach, comes from the term for wolves, faol-chù, even though wolves haven’t existed in Scotland for centuries. The Saxon word for January is Wulf-monath, or Wolf Month. Meanwhile, the festival of the Japanese wolf god, Ooguchi Magami, is held in January. The Seneca tribe links the wolf so strongly to the moon, they believe that a wolf gave birth to the moon by singing it into the sky. Just why are wolves so strongly associated with January’s full moon?

The most obvious answer is because wolves are much louder and more noticeable in January, which is when breeding season begins. Wolves begin to howl more frequently and aggressively to establish their territory, threatening neighbors and enemies alike to stay far away from their breeding grounds. A small pack of wolves may even try to make themselves seem like a larger pack by howling together. While a lone wolf can sustain a howl for the duration of a single breath, an entire pack may howl in unison for longer than two minutes during breeding season.

While it makes sense for the haunting howls of wolves to be more memorable during January, how did wolves come to be associated with the full moon itself? Everyone is familiar with the iconic image of a wolf raising its head and howling at the full moon – but do wolves actually sing to the moon? While that might be a romantic idea, there’s no scientific evidence that links wolves to the lunar cycle. Humans may have begun to associate wolves with the moon simpy because they are nocturnal animals that are very active at night. In addition, wolves do raise their heads in the direction of the sky so their howls can travel over far distances to reach their pack mates as they roam. Instead of singing to the moon, they’re actually singing to their friends.

Gathering to Thank the Gods and Goddesses for Australia’s Rain and to Ask For the Rain to Continue

I received this letter from my right-hand witch, Priestess Hypatia,On January 5, 2020. I felt as so many have asked for the rains to come to Australia to help put out the wildfires that this email should be shared with everyone.

“Hello dearest Lady Beltane,

THE RAINS ARRIVED!

I can not thank you enough for what you and the Coven members did.
I am so grateful it fills my heart with so much love.
We are fine here in Melbourne, its the rural areas like where my beautiful sister is. The family and many like them were taken by the Navy ships to safety untill the infirno subsided.
This was the place I always visit on a regular basis called Eden.
This is where my beautiful sister had her apothecary farm and livelihood.
The miracle is they are all fine, there home has some damage but still somewhat standing. The farm is all gone but at least they have their lives.
The locals are still on high alert and will be all summer.
Would you believe the fires stopped literaly at their door step.
I can’t visit her as the coast is still burning and very dangerous.
Australia just has to go on and find normality.
The poor wildlife that is suffering now needs to be tackled. “
There will be a gathering to thank all the different Gods and Goddesses that answered our calls to bring rain to help put out Australia’s wildfires that have been burning since October 2019. It is summer there right now so there is a chance of the fires spreading again if they cannot get them all completely put out. So the rain will be needed for a few days to help the firefighters please continue to ask for it to be sent there. I am very thankful to everyone in their own way asked for the rain to come in before the entire continent was nothing but as.

Thanking the Gods and Goddesses for the Rain Falling

LADY BELTANE: I walk this circle in the direction the Sunrises three times to keep those inside the circle safe from harm and to keep the rain energy we raise contained until the circle is open and the rain energy goes to where it is needed most to help put out the wildfires in Australia

EVERYONE: Pick up your beverage and in your own words thank the God and/or Goddess you ask for the rain from, hold the cup high as you conclude you thanks take a sip from your beverage and set it back down. Type in So Mote It Be when done

Pick up your snack and in your own words thank the God and/or Goddess you ask for the rain from hold the snack up high when you conclude these thank yous. Now take a small bite and set it back down. Type in So Mote when you are done. Save the rest of your beverage and snack than go outside to make your offering to all the deities approximately half of your beverage and snack, you should drink and eat the rest outside.

Now we will do a spell/prayer asking for the rains to continue as long as needed

For More Rain

( The intent is to keep in your third eye {middle of your forehead] is to see it rain over the wildfires of Australia but causing no flooding, wash out roads, or any other damage to much rain in one location could cause)

We call upon the ancient Aboriginal God of rain and water

To help douse the wildfires and keep them from spreading any further

We ask that rain only affects the wildfires and does not cause any damage to anything on it is own

We ask that all the people, animals, birds, and reptiles not yet affected by these wildfires escape whole and unharmed

Now get as clear a picture in your mind od the rain helping to put out the wildfires. We will all meditate for 3 minutes on this picture in our minds.

After the 3 minutes or however long you want to meditate on the rain coming to all of Australia say, “This is our will for Australia, So Mote It Be” or however you end your own spell work.

Set the container is a safe place where the water will not be spilled. Add more water as needed to keep the map submerged until all the wildfires are completely out.

I walk this circle the times in the direction of the setting Sun. The circle is open but never broken. Priestess Hypatia, all the residents, and visitors in Australia thank you for participating in casting this spell for them and all the other living things to be safe and the wildfires to stop growing.

For the last few days I’ve made a point of relishing the darkness of the winter solstice. I’ve slept in, worked out later in the day, and enjoyed nine hours of solid sleep without waking up – a rare, delicious treat these days.

Information About January 1, 2020 Some Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Posts

Welcome to 2020!!! WOTC sure had its ups and downs through 2019, With Lady Abyss retiring from here and then not even a month later she goes to the Summerlands. The website passing into my hands to carry on a mission the Goddess gave to Lady Abyss of educating society on what witchcraft, pagans, and withes real are. As well as sharing many things with new and established witches they may not have know about other wise, Her guidance and mentoring to many of us is not something we will get over quickly, or at least I won’t.

I again want to thank all of the donors, those that prayed to the Goddess and lit candles or whatever to save Lady A’s legacy that I have found my shoulders need to be wider to bear the extra weight of running WOTC without Lady A to call for advice.

2020 is going start off slow with the yearly information posts because I need to figure out what websites she used for them. Unfortunately I cannot post any horoscopes until the year changes in the northern and western hemispheres So all posts will be at least 1 day late for the southern hemisphere and parts of the eastern hemisphere. I will do my best on January 1st to get everything up but my youngest grandchild is coming to visit me tomorrow and as I tell Coven Life’s students family always comes first. I hoping to be able to some of them tonight after it is midnight where I live. Not sure what time zones different websites are in or if they schedule posts like we do sometimes.

I ask that you let us know what you kind of posts you want to see on WOTC in the comments section, all comments do get read even if I do not have time to reply, so we can start trying to information on the topic and get posts up about it. There will be more divination posts in 2020 but they will be done differently than you were use to see from Lady Abyss and her awesome team.
