Amazing grace, how sweet the Earth
that bore a witch like me!
I once was burned, now I survive,
was hung and now I sing.
T’was grace that drew down the moon
and grace that raised the seas.
The magic in the people’s will
will set our Mother free.
We face the East and breathe the winds
that move across this earth.
From gentle breeze to hurricane
our breath will bring forth the change.
Turn towards the South and feel the fire
that burns in you and me.
The spirit’s flame will rise again
and burn eternally.
We greet the West, our souls awash
in tides of primal birth.
Our tears and blood, our pain and love
will cleanse and heal the earth.
Reach into the North and know your roots
down deep ancestral caves.
We find the wisdom of the Crone,
Of circles we are made.
Amazing earth, enduring life,
from death into rebirth.
T’is earth I am and earth I love
and earth I’ll always be.
Amazing grace, how sweet the Earth
that bore witches like we.
We once were burned, now we survive,
were hung and now we sing.
Goddess bless, so mote it be,
Our magic spirals on.
Merry meet and merry part
and merry meet again.

The Moon is in Cancer.
The Moon is waning and in its Waning Gibbous phase until 8:25 AM, after which the Moon is in its Last Quarter phase.
The Last Quarter Moon occurs today at 8:25 AM, and the New Moon will occur on the 19th.
Moon in Cancer
The Moon is traveling through Cancer today. Beware of mood swings. Cook some soul food. Cuddle up with someone.
The restlessness of the Gemini Moon gives way to an instinctive need for peace and quiet. Feelings of belonging and safety are what motivate us under this influence. The Moon feels right at home in the sign of Cancer, as it rules the sign. This Moon position has much healing potential. Although insular by nature, our feelings run deep, making it an ideal time to get in touch with what motivates us.
The Moon in Cancer generally favors the following activities: Domestic activities, those that involve awareness of personal needs. Home decor, family get-togethers.
The Sky This Week for October 12 to 15
The Summer Triangle in fall, a meteor shower, and other beautiful things to look for in the sky this week.
Thursday, October 12
Last Quarter Moon occurs at 8:25 a.m. EDT. It rose around 11:30 p.m. local daylight time yesterday evening, which gives North American observers a chance to see it almost precisely half-lit before this morning’s dawn. Earth’s only natural satellite appears among the background stars of southern Gemini.
Mars is hot on the trail of Venus, and crosses the border between Leo and Virgo today. Mars also will have some nice conjunctions with the Maiden’s stars, but they’ll occur at a slower pace thanks to the Red Planet’s more sluggish orbit.
Venus appears 0.8° northeast of the 4th-magnitude star Beta (b) Virginis this morning.
Friday, October 13
The annual Orionid meteor shower is quickly ramping up toward its peak the morning of October 21. You already should be seeing a few shower members in the predawn sky, where the waning crescent Moon doesn’t offer much interference. To tell an Orionid from a sporadic meteor, trace the path of the “shooting star” backward. An Orionid meteor will appear to radiate from the northern part of the constellation Orion the Hunter.
Saturday, October 14
Saturn remains a tempting target in this week’s evening sky. The ringed planet stands nearly 20° above the southwestern horizon as darkness falls. Shining at magnitude 0.5, it appears significantly brighter than any of the background stars in its host constellation, Ophiuchus the Serpent-bearer. Of course, the best views of Saturn come through a telescope, which reveals a 16″-diameter globe surrounded by a spectacular ring system that spans 37″. But more significantly, the rings tilt 27.0° to our line of sight — the maximum angle possible — in mid-October. The rings haven’t appeared this open since 2003 and they won’t approach this tilt again until 2032. The steep angle offers superb views of ring structure.
Sunday, October 15
The variable star Algol in Perseus reaches minimum brightness at 1:25 a.m. EDT tomorrow morning. Observers on the East Coast who start watching around midevening can see the star’s brightness diminish by 70 percent over the course of about five hours. Those in western North America will see Algol brighten noticeably from late evening until dawn starts to light up the sky, when the star stands high in the west. This eclipsing binary system runs through a cycle from minimum (magnitude 3.4) to maximum (magnitude 2.1) and back every 2.87 days.
The Witches Current Moon Phase for Thursday, October 12
Last Quarter Illumination: 50%
Last Quarter in Cancer
The Moon today is in a Third Quarter phase. Sometimes called a Last Quarter Moon, this phase occurs roughly 3 weeks after the New Moon when the earth is three quarter of the way through it’s orbit around the earth. If you live in the northern hemisphere the Moons left side will be illuminated and the right side dark. For thoughts of you in the southern hemisphere it will be the opposite with the right side illuminated. On the day of the Third Quarter phase the Moon will rise around midnight on the eastern horizon and set in the west around noon the next day. In the days following the Third Quarter Phase the Moon’s illumination will decrees each day until the New Moon.

Before we get into talking about the Cancer Moon, let’s start off with a little bit about the Moon itself. In Astrology, the Moon is considered a planet — and it’s the fastest moving one at that! Because it moves so quickly, it moves through each of the 12 zodiac signs once every month. Most of us know what our Sun sign is, but what your Moon sign? If you don’t know yours, you can use our FREE Cosmic Profile to learn about your lunar sign, your rising sign, your Tarot birth card, and more! Who knows — YOU could be a Cancer Moon sign!
When the Moon is in Cancer
Regardless of what your Sun or Moon signs are, for a couple of days a month we’re all under the influence of the Cancer Moon. We’ll feel a little bit more tender, and more vulnerable than we do during other times of the month. You’ll have the urge to put up stronger walls between you and others in order to protect yourself. This is one of Cancer’s tricks — living behind your castle walls so you can feel safe. So, during the Moon in Cancer transit, you’ll feel more protective not only over yourself, but also those you love.
Cancer is the sign of mothering energy, so during this Moon you’ll feel a stronger urge to nurture and care for everyone as if everyone was one of your children. Domestic matters will feel more important than usual, and you will find yourself wanting to be at home surrounded by your loved ones. This is a great time to invite people over to share stories over a meal, or gather friends for a night of games.
Emotions will be heightened during the Cancer Moon, and it’s easy become moody if you don’t express how you’re feeling. But don’t worry, this extra emotion doesn’t have to be a bad thing. You’ll have an easier time tuning into your emotional needs, giving you a better understanding of what you need in life to feel satisfied.
New Moon in Cancer
In the early summer when the Moon and Sun are both in the sign of Cancer, we have a New Moon in Cancer. This is a very special time because New Moons are all about new growth and the beginning of new cycles. Cancer likes to protect itself by holding things in, so during the Cancer New Moon, we want to think about planting the metaphorical seeds we’ve kept hidden. However, this doesn’t mean we need to announce our plans to everyone if we don’t want to. It just means we need to finally bring those seeds out of hiding and sow them with intention.
Full Moon in Cancer
Six months later, at the beginning of winter when the sun is in the sign of Capricorn, we have a Full Moon in Cancer. Capricorn is about the outer energy, and the mastery of our outer world. The Cancer Full Moon allows the energies of these two signs to counterbalance each other, and helps us bring to fruition those things that we held close during the New Moon. We’re finally able to manifest these things, and create a sense of security in bringing our feelings and desires out into the world.
If you were born with the Moon in Cancer
Your Sun sign represents the person you show to the world. Your Moon sign (or natal moon sign) is about how you feel, and Cancerians have very powerful feelings. Although, you wouldn’t know it with the thick shell they use to protect themselves! They only put up a hard exterior because they’re incredibly sensitive, and can get hurt easily.
They’re aren’t just aware of their own feelings — they’re also able to sense the feelings of those around them. Being a Water sign, they have the gift of intuition, and can easily pick up on how others are feeling or what they need. Rest assured, you can’t fool a Crab because they’ll see right through you!
Matters of the heart and home are incredibly important to those born with their Moon in Cancer. Deeply loyal, they take their relationships with others seriously, and love spending time with family and friends. Natural nurturers, they often go out of their way to make others feel loved. It’s no surprise that Cancer has a reputation for being the “mother sign” of the zodiac.
I would like to apologize for us not being on the internet Tuesday and Wednesday. We had some severe storms move through the area and the power was out. It was off the biggest part of the day Tuesday. Then when it came back on Wednesday, there was non-stop rolling brown outs. To avoid risk of damaging the computers, we decided not to even turn them on. The rolling brown outs (what the country folk around here call a black out) have been known to take out TVs, computers and various other electrical items. I can guarantee you when something is damaged due because of their brown outs, they won’t take blame and they sure won’t pay to either repair it or replace it. We decided, due to our current financial situation, not to take the chance with our computers.
I am sorry for any inconvenience and with that, let’s get this show rolling…..

The Karmic Tools Weekly Forecast covers the current planetary transits which affect people in different ways and to various degrees of intensity. Take notice when it is a Personal planet (Sun / Moon / Mercury / Venus / Mars) interacting with a Social (Jupiter/Saturn) or Collective planet (Uranus / Neptune/Pluto). And pay extremely close attention when it is a Social planet interacting with a Collective planet because that means something *big* is brewing that will move large groups of people along their evolutionary paths. Tuning in to the energy and rhythm of the planets can serve as a useful *guide* as you move along your Individual Path. It also helps to understand your place within the context of the larger Social & Collective Story. Below, you will find out how these energies tend to manifest, as well as guidance and direction.
*NOTE* There are some days when there are NO CONTACTS (besides the Moon), please note that there are no missing entries, we just list the actual Activations of each week + the day they happen.
This energy can make you feel cool & detached with loved ones. It is time to ‘take stock’ of your relationships and really evaluate the level of balance between giving & receiving. Business or personal – relationships must have a balance of give & take. You may feel more aware of your true independence in life and start reevaluating the need for certain relationships in your life. This energy pushes you to dig for your own fortitude & determination to live according to your own values & priorities and corrections or adjustments may be necessary and fairly obvious at this time. You may feel lonely, depressed or disconnected but it’s just the Universe forcing you to question or assess your current relationships, how you interact with others and how you allow them to interact with you. It’s good to periodically evaluate even the strongest relationship and check the foundation. Don’t give in to (ego-based) fears, focusing on the lack & limitation or what is not working, but instead, build on your strengths and honor the goodness you’ve created together, as well as in your Self. This is the best time to be alone and reflective because the insights you acquire through this process will help you in the future.
This energy will compel you to express yourself on many levels. Communication will be a focus, just make sure it is reciprocated. You will have access to some powerful energy that can (and probably will) make quite an impression on others (if you need to). This is a good time to travel if possible too. However, if not physically, then mentally and certainly within your own area, you will take in more information per square inch than usual. Pay attention! You may even gain the much-deserved recognition from others that you have worked so hard for.
This energy is a tough, yet powerful one. Its Highest expression would be to focus on your inner deep-dig, discovery & development. It enables you to look beneath the surface to some core drives and gain some valuable insights and thus, choose a plan of action based on your findings. You will want to know all the hidden meanings behind decisions you’ve made or want to make soon. Dig – you will find more than you think you’re ready for, but apparently, the Universe thinks differently! Pay attention and try not to worry about what anyone else thinks or believes. This energy’s flip-side is to make you obsess over one particular idea and try to force others to your way of thinking. That is a bottomless pit – you cannot truly change the way other people think – you can only change the way you think and hope it enlightens others along the way … and it will, for those who are tuned in to your level. Try to only focus on you and your direction.
10/9 ~ Sun (illumination) ~square~ Pluto (transformation):
This is a challenge to grow out of your comfort zone and into new territory. That said, with Pluto in Capricorn (2008-2024), twice a year for these 16-years, when the Sun is in Aries (Spring) and Libra (Fall), we get an opportunity to grow & change in fundamental departments of life: self vs other and home vs work. In this case, and during these years, we are literally changing how we do ALL of this. Each year builds on the previous and we are now 8-years into the 16-year process of transformation – that is the MidPoint, an incredibly potent point in time & space. It is here that you have the most information to consciously work with as you prepare for the next 8-years, and ultimately, what you would like to get out of your conscious efforts and dedication. Sun helps us clarify and when working with Pluto, it is usually what is NOT working, what has run its course and is ready to be composted into new Life, new growth and a new direction (for Self). Pluto is the Purifier, distilling things back to their true and original essence, fight that and it can be painful, work with it consciously and it can be transformative and will heal at the deepest root of any challenge. You can use this activation to honor that which has become obvious or is highlighted in the here & now and purge or purify this energy. You are deeply supported for releasing old patterns and setting new conscious practices into action. Tie up loose ends, close multiple chapters, mourn & move on. As you do that, you will feel lighter & brighter and more grounded in your true Self, your evolved Self.
10/11 ~ Mars (anger) ~square~ Saturn (restriction):
This is the energy of action being restricted and the anger or frustration that follows. You can either be angry and feel restricted, limited and unable to move … or you can see this energy as an opportunity to define the right actions to take and strategically plan to take them when the Universe is more supportive. This energy requires us to slow down and double check The Plan. If you proceed consciously, your plan has a better chance of success than if you were reckless & impatient. You may experience a blockage of some sort, internal or external. You may feel this tremendous urge to change or move forward in your life but seem to find blockages and limitations with every effort. That is likely your perception, do you feel inadequate to the task at hand? What are you afraid of? Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real – release fear and choose to be responsible for creating your life. If you don’t, your outer circumstance only becomes a reflection of your inner belief. You will attract criticism and repel support. Take your grand vision and figure out three small steps you can take on this restricted level that is still taking you in the direction of your goal. Don’t try to initiate at this time, this is a time for cultivating, planning, working behind the scenes, doing the detail work and foundational (grunt work) that is NECESSARY to support the grand vision when the time comes to fully express it.
This energy is really good for being able to objectively see what needs to be changed, fixed or stabilized in your life or environment. One expression of this energy is a tendency toward depression or apathy, but a better expression would be facing what needs to be done and following through on what you have begun. You may feel the need to organize things at home or work, or perhaps take a class or workshop of some sort that will help you attain your current goals. Either way, be focused but not too serious – balance in all things. It’s when you focus on the lack and limitation that you feel overwhelmed and sometimes helpless. That’s not the point of this energy. It’s just time to do some serious thinking, tend to the details, take stock and make changes accordingly.
This week, Jupiter moves into passionate Scorpio to influence the deeper trenches of our love life.
In fact as the planet of enlightenment now begins its journey through Scorpio over the next year, sparks may fly, electricity and sexual desire will be generated, but we will all begin to experience the dark and light side of our feelings too. We will also know which feelings are right and which are wrong. Welcome the transformation and dig deep for your own truth too.
ARIES
This week, you will begin to be noticed by someone special or someone is going to see you in a new light. From the heady heights of being in the spotlight, you will also begin to realize how to make compromises, and ones which will work in your favour and for your long-term benefit.
TAURUS
What all Taureans are experiencing at the moment is a sense of feeling lost, or of having to reluctantly let go of this or that. But when something is lost, something is also usually found, and this week you begin to see exactly what that is and reclaim it for yourself.
GEMINI
Full of joie de vivre, you’re chatting to everyone and loving yourself. It’s hard keeping up appearances and looking good too, isn’t it? But you can begin to see your love life for what it is. And that means take the right steps to be true to your values and accept your need to be centre-stage.
CANCER
You’ve been a little slow in getting to grips with a love issue and you realise that denial is taking you nowhere fast. In fact, the more you ignore the voice of conscience, the more you are getting into tricky waters. Time to take a deep breath and say what’s on your mind. Then you can get on with living an interesting life again.
LEO
It’s timely to reflect about love and life and ask yourself where you’re going next. These precious moments will lead you to the pot of gold which brings you the love you deserve. It’s timely to see that your mission in life is to live it to the full, and to experience a new love affair as a magical mystery.
VIRGO
This time last year you were confused about a relationship. It may even have been clandestine, unexpected or not like you had wanted it to be. Yet now you’re beginning to put the past behind you. There will be regrets and maybe a sense of loss, but what you know now, is how to love from your heart and soul.
LIBRA
You’re beginning to be in control of your love life. In fact, if single, if you’d like someone to to be right up close beside you, then all you have to do is ask. Or maybe, take a chance on going some place with your current partner? It will take you out of yourself, and into a love which will permeate all you do.
SCORPIO
You may already have built defensive walls around to stop you from getting hurt. Or, you may have just found a billion duties to keep you occupied. But either way, with Jupiter moving into your own sign, feelings take over a little but will bring you the love that you deserve. Let it all develop and be rewarded.
SAGITTARIUS
This week you have itchy feet, and you just long to get out of the house and on with a new romantic adventure. In fact, there will be more than just one outing, as you also set off to discover if your relationships are as reliable as you thought them to be. With enlightenment comes a new perspective.
CAPRICORN
Romance is a little fragile this week, and you really can’t see any way to make it more solid. But at least you can plot, plan and see how to adapt or take a more laid back approach. Just take care, what you see isn’t always what you get, and what you hear isn’t always the truth.
AQUARIUS
A new-found wisdom about other means you can be realistic rather than idealistic. The reality is, that the things that drive us wild about someone when we first meet are usually what drives us up the wall a few years down the road. This week, you learn to balance ideals with reality and focus on how to make your love life work.
PISCES
Make the most of this week’s energy to prove that what you have to offer is the true, loyal, and loving you. Tell someone your deepest thoughts. Express and share your warm and nurturing heart, and never give up on that need to belong to something, whether to a family, a lover or just to your own self.
*NEW* For the Singles Witches Amongst Us, Your Daring Dating Horoscopes for the Week of October 9th
You may still be buzzing from last week’s full Moon in your sign, still full of energy that can be used to move on from a relationship block and seizing the day rather than harking back to your yesterdays. Good. Mercury and the Sun offer choice chat up lines. Use them.
TAURUS (April 21st-May 21st)
As Jupiter moves into your relationship sky, Tuesday, he starts a one year tenure as your go-to guy for all things relationship. As chance would have it, Venus and Mars are holding hands in your new love sky. A combo deal that says fate has this, step aside. New love incoming.
GEMINI (May 22nd-June 21st)
Nobody cares much what you had for breakfast, but put it on your social media anyway, something to do isn’t it. Or you could get out of the house, lift your head from your phone and remember your heaven given gifts for flirting and communication.
CANCER (June 22nd-July 23rd)
I have nothing against choice, it’s a good thing, but sometimes when there’s so much choice nothing gets done. Jupiter is opening a love pic and mix, he wants you to see the choices, but also wants you to pick only the one that holds the greatest adventure. No rush.
LEO (July 24th-August 23rd)
You don’t need someone to be a carbon copy of you, far from it, but some shared interests are good; right? Yes, but the challenge this week goes beyond a love of sports or all things leopard print. Moral code. Make no compromises, if there’s a doubt, you are out.
VIRGO (August 24th-September 23rd)
The combo of Venus and Mars in your sign is what you might call amazing, if you were drawn to such sensationalist expression? If you’re not feeling so exuberant maybe we could agree it’s an interesting and encouraging thing for love? Go mad, lose the duffle-coat; get hot and bothered without it.
LIBRA (September 24th-October 23rd)
Not one to pass up the chance for some adoration it seems you’re more than happy to get involved with some chit-chat with an ex, or maybe it’s a friend of a friend? Good for you, just make sure you know what you want from that chit-chat going in.
SCORPIO (October 24th-November 22nd)
Jupiter is in your sign from Tuesday, for a year, he’s the planet of good luck and all that but he’s got nothing much to do with your love life, for now anyway. But. As other planets move around him look for second time around, ships that passed in the night finally get alongside.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23rd-December 21st)
If you can’t see someone who fancies you like I fancy cake for breakfast, you might want to take a mate along just to act as observer on your next night out. Someone is being as clear as they can be without throwing themselves at your feet; take another look.
CAPRICORN (December 22nd-January 20th)
If you can get some time away this week, it may pay you to do some travelling, to re-asses what you want from love and to change your view, literally. Love waits overseas, but also in libraries and travel agents, anywhere your mind is broadened and your heart feels more at home.
AQUARIUS (January 21st-February 19th)
What’s not so great about this week, for your love life, is an increase in how much time you’re investing at work. But, you can still balance it all with some romance if you pay attention to very well hidden signals from a would be love interest. Why hide? They don’t even know how into you they are. Yet.
PISCES (February 20th-March 20th)
Sitting opposite you are Venus and Mars, they’re also out reach of your resident fog-maker Neptune, affording them some clarity. New love is waiting to be discovered, or rather waiting to discover you? Finally, someone sees that look in your eye. Hello sailor.
ARIES (March 21st-April 20th)
Your life over the last twelve months did not turn out as you thought it would, but it has helped you to learn many lessons about yourself. This is about to pay dividends in your personal life. Both today and tomorrow prove this.
TAURUS (April 21st-May 21st)
You have fallen before and you have got up again, that I see. Doing so this month seems harder than before, but if you do so it will make you stronger. Younger faces prove the cause of much inspiration.
GEMINI (May 22nd-June 21st)
Your element of air brings out your gossipy side. You find it important to discuss others’ lives. Could it be that this is helping you to avoid focusing on your own? Love discussions go better than you’d dreamed.
CANCER (June 22nd-July 23rd)
The pressure is on in your career and you may feel the need to tell some white lies in order to make yourself look more professional than you feel you are. Be true to yourself and don’t make up facts. It’s the real you who will draw the most supporters.
LEO (July 24th-August 23rd)
Don’t make promises to family which you know you may not be able to keep. Those you will be dealing with will be relying on you far more heavily than you thought.
VIRGO (August 24th-September 23rd)
I can see you are finding it hard to tell the difference between fact and fiction but I also see that you have allowed yourself to be blinded by the sex appeal of a certain person. Step away and take a breath for clarity.
LIBRA (September 24th-October 23rd)
I know you have been confused and your feelings have been hard to work out, but give yourself more time. What I see that you don’t is that time is on your side. Wear what you know you look good in tonight.
SCORPIO (October 24th-November 22nd)
If you wait any longer for all of the changes you want you’re only going to get older! Time is of the essence in changes. You see today what needs to be done to get what and who you want. Do it!
SAGITTARIUS (November 23rd-December 21st)
Mistakes are the portals of discovery Sagittarius. There is plenty you need to get done today, but instead do what feels right inside. It’s the key to you finding where your future should lead.
CAPRICORN (December 22nd-January 20th)
If you have nothing nice to say about those around you today then say nothing at all. Your element of earth brings out your need for security, but allow other people time to catch up with your ideas.
AQUARIUS (January 21st-February 19th)
You let go of what was not working and instead focus on what and who makes you feel good about your life. Media links in your work are to be enjoyed, not dreaded. Cancelled plans make way for better ways to spend your time.
PISCES (February 20th-March 20th)
If you love life, then life will love you back. Family have been hard to please but all they want to do is talk, so lend them your ear. News of pregnancies and babies is set to bring surprise.
If You Were Born Today, October 9
You are a study in contradictions. Although compassionate, humanitarian, and egalitarian at least in theory, you can also be domineering when the mood strikes you. Your moods and behavior swings can be frustrating for others (and for yourself!) at times, but they also help fuel your powerful creativity. You love to debate and you have a way with words. You are not tolerant of narrow-minded thinking. You possess considerable strength of character, and partnership is extremely important to you. You live by your own truth and you are responsible.
Famous people born today: John Lennon, Sean Lennon, John Entwistle.
ARIES (March 21st-April 20th)
The secret of getting ahead is getting started Aries. These were the words of Mark Twain and they apply to your sign more than most today. You seem to have reached a feeling of existence rather than progress. Change that now.
TAURUS (April 21st-May 21st)
You’re worried what the end result of a project will be. Try not to focus on the end, but on the stage you are at now. It’s the key to success. An ex is on your mind for all the wrong reasons. Careful!
.
GEMINI (May 22nd-June 21st)
You’ve been trying so hard to put up a protective front and to pretend you don’t care. Underneath it all you and I know you do! Time spent getting your head to talk to your heart is like gold dust. Use it!
CANCER (June 22nd-July 23rd)
The pressure is on for you to do what others think is right, but that may not sit well with you. Your ruling planet the Moon helps you to find your voice today. Although, know how far is too far to go my friend.
LEO (July 24th-August 23rd)
Your famous Leo pride is standing in the way of you doing what you know deep down inside is the ‘right thing.’ You can change the world and you will if you take action and follow the path of your dreams.
VIRGO (August 24th-September 23rd)
Try to show a little more consideration to close ones who you know have been going through a lot in recent days and weeks. You’ve been trying to act normal to make them feel normal. Heart to hearts tonight are the remedy they need.
LIBRA (September 24th-October 23rd)
The younger generation are on your mind more than normal. It would be worth remembering with today’s very stubborn line up, that you can’t help someone who doesn’t want to help themselves.
SCORPIO (October 24th-November 22nd)
You seem to have backed yourself into a corner with something you’ve said or done. Whatever you do, don’t tell more lies, or act more stubbornly just to try and convince them you are right. A simple apology works wonders today.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23rd-December 21st)
Your house of work is highlighted and many of your sign will be questioning if you’re in the right career and which path is the right one for you. Don’t rule out going back into the learning stream. It could be the key to your success.
CAPRICORN (December 22nd-January 20th)
For once I am encouraging you to bring out your more stubborn side. Certain influences in your life think they can talk you into what you know you don’t want. Remember what happened in January? Stand by your dreams.
AQUARIUS (January 21st-February 19th)
Can you feel the tension in your chart? I can and I know if you give in to the help and support that’s being offered, that it will subside. Plan something you know you enjoy. Letting go of guilt can prove someone has manipulated you.
PISCES (February 20th-March 20th)
New faces enter your life and stir your imagination. You begin to think outside the box and you also realise that with certain friends or even lovers you were ‘making do.’ That is no longer the case from here on in.
Tarot Card of the Day
Queen of Coins
Traditionally, representing the energy of a Queen, this feminine guardian is endowed with enormous good sense and problem solving energy, but she is not particularly entrepreneurial. She loves to advise, encourage, and empower those she gets involved with, studying their problems with them and setting them up to solve them. Traditionally, she was pictured as the Sibyl or Oracle, perhaps a Tarot reader, who made herself available to people in need, no matter what their social class or situation. In modern times, she will be found educating, healing, managing disaster aid programs or a charitable drive of some sort.
In every case, she does not see the benefits that exist in her life as belonging solely to her. She feels the needs of her people and will spend freely of her time, energy, skills, money to see that nobody is left out. For this, and because she likes to work in an atmosphere of beauty, enjoyment and abundance, she is sometimes accused of being extravagant. But she works hard, and she sees no reason to deny herself the rewards of a job well done. Everyone who comes in contact with her feels enriched by her enjoyment in living.
For the week of October 9, I chose the Ten of Pentacles reversed!
Last week’s card, the Ten of Cups reversed, showed a need to re-evaluate your personal values and what truly makes you happy when it comes to family and your loved ones. This week, the Ten of Pentacles reversed takes that work further and asks you to look at the role in which money plays in your family life.
Are you placing too much value on money as a family? Are you working too much to save money, when really, if you simplified your lifestyle and reduced your living costs, you may not need to work so much and could enjoy your life more? Or perhaps money is slipping through your fingers and your living costs are far exceeding your income. It’s time to check in on your family’s money situation and look at how you can bring greater balance.
Ask the Tarot: “What role does money play in my family’s life right now?”
The things you do every day are the things that can impact your life the most. Through our daily rituals and routines, we create a sense of consistency and mindfulness that helps keep us centered when negative emotions, sudden developments, and surprise circumstances come up that could knock us off kilter. Yoga, meditation, prayer, cooking, exercise … these are all great rituals that, when done daily, can create a real sense of health, stability, and purpose for you. But perhaps one of the most beneficial daily rituals of all is a daily Tarot reading!
Any Tarot reading can provide an incredible amount of insight and understanding into whatever situation you’re facing. But daily Tarot readings go even further — by identifying the cards and messages that come up for you on a regular basis, start to realize the patterns in your life, the things that affect you most frequently, and all the ways you tend to react. When you can identify these patterns, you have all the power to embrace them or change them!
5 Reasons to start a daily Tarot reading ritual
1. Set intentions
We’ve all had those days when we wake up late, throw ourselves together, and stumble into our routine unprepared and unfocused. The problem is, those days usually don’t smooth out. The way you start your day — are you eager or are you exhausted? Optimistic or pessimistic? Open or closed off? — can totally dictate the day you have. You cannot control everything that will come up, but you can control the way you move through it. Pausing to set intentions for the day through a daily Tarot reading grounds your heart and mind so you enter every situation that arises with clarity and mindfulness.
2. See the patterns
It’s easy to compartmentalize our days, taking everything that happens from morning to night and tucking it away, in order to start fresh the next day. But when we look at each day as isolated from all the rest, we limit our ability to see the big picture of what’s happening in our lives. One little regret here, one little reward there may not seem like much. But when you start to realize a pattern of regret or a pattern of reward, you can start to see the reason these things recur, which gives you all the power to create more reward and less regret in the future.
3. Be present
Living in the moment is NOT easy. Fears, problems, and heartaches from the past — whether years ago or just days ago — are hard to ignore. Not to mention hopes and expectations for the future… But when you spend all your time in the past and the future, you miss everything that’s happening in the present moment. A daily Tarot reading ritual establishes a time to reconnect with yourself every day, in this exact moment, and identify the things that are affecting you most NOW.
4. Make difficult decisions
When you draw the cards for your Tarot reading, be intentional and tune into your intuition. It is your subconscious that knows which cards to pull, because it knows which messages you need to be hear. Sometimes our conscious minds are so full of trivial matters that we cannot see what we really need to see, making it tough to make any healthy decisions for ourselves. A daily Tarot reading helps you clear out the clutter of your daily life so you see what lies before you with greater clarity.
5. Find peace
Whether you’re experiencing a specific, heartfelt loss or change or you’re just feeling totally crazed out of your mind, a daily Tarot reading helps you not just with a one-time piece of advice, but with regular, recurring help through your process of healing. By meditating on the wisdom you receive from a reading, you’ll not only find clarity in your present situation, but a deeper sense of peace and calm in your daily life. And when the next issue arises — because you know it will! — you’ll be able to face it head-on using your greatest weapon: a healthy, centered mindset.
Three readings a day keeps the stress away
Many people read their horoscope or do a Tarot reading first thing in the morning, to set the tone for the day. But have you ever had a day that started out one way, then took a serious turn? Of course you have … we all have! That’s why not just one, but THREE Tarot readings a day can be so beneficial. You can not only set intentions for your day, but as circumstances arise throughout the day, you can check back in with another reading for more immediate, focused insight.
Columbus Day, which is on the second Monday of October, remembers Christopher Columbus’ arrival to the Americas on October 12, 1492. This holiday is controversial because the European settlement in the Americas led to the demise of the history and culture of the indigenous peoples.
Observe Columbus Day
Some Americans celebrate the anniversary of the discovery of their country with church services and other activities. In some towns and cities, special church services, parades and large events are held. Many celebrations happen in the Italian-American community. The celebrations in New York and San Francisco are particularly noteworthy. In Hawaii Columbus Day is celebrated as Discoverers’ Day, but it is not a state holiday.
Columbus day is a public holiday in many parts of the United states, but is not a day off in some states. Some government offices are closed because Columbus Day is still a federal government holiday. The day is a legal observance in states like Florida.
Many businesses and shops are open in states that don’t have Columbus Day as a public holiday. Schools are not required to close but check with your school district or school calendar on Columbus Day school holiday closures. The same goes for post offices – check with your local post office.
About Columbus Day
Christopher Columbus is often portrayed as the first European to sail to the Americas. He is sometimes portrayed as the discoverer of the New World. However, this is controversial on many counts. There is evidence that the first Europeans to sail across the Atlantic were Viking explorers from Scandinavia. In addition, the land was already populated by indigenous peoples, who had ‘discovered’ the Americas thousands of years before.
Columbus Day originated as a celebration of Italian-American heritage and was first held in San Francisco in 1869. The first state-wide celebration was held in Colorado in 1907. In 1937, Columbus Day become a holiday across the United States. Since 1971, it has been celebrated on the second Monday in October. The date on which Columbus arrived in the Americas is also celebrated as the DÃa de la Raza (Day of the Race) in Latin America and some Latino communities in the USA. However, it is a controversial holiday in some countries and has been re-named in others.
Columbus Day celebrations are controversial because the settlement of Europeans in the Americas led to the deaths of a very large proportion of the native people. It has been argued that this was a direct result of Columbus’ actions. It is clear that the arrival of the European settlers led to the demise of a large proportion of the history and culture of the indigenous peoples of the Americas. It has also been argued that Columbus should not be honored for discovering North America, as he only went as far as some islands in the Caribbean and never got as far as mainland America.

The Moon is waning and in its Waning Gibbous phase.
The Full Moon occurred on the 5th in the sign of Aries, and the Last Quarter Moon will occur on October 12th.
Moon in Gemini
The Moon is traveling through witty Gemini today. Call, text, send email, write letters. Visit someone you’ve missed. Watch a movie and talk about it at a coffee shop. Get out and about. Don’t sleep in.
Our instincts are to communicate, think, and learn under the influence of Moon in Gemini. We are motivated by a desire for variety and by an instinctive curiosity. The Moon in Gemini is light-hearted, breezy, and curious, but it can also be restless and fickle.
The Moon in Gemini generally favors the following activities: Mental and communicative actions, and more than one activity at once. Reading, learning, letters and emails, errands, writing, teaching, making connections, short trips.
The Sky This Week for October 9 to 15
The Summer Triangle in fall, a meteor shower, and other beautiful things to look for in the sky this week.
Monday, October 9
Venus crosses the invisible border separating the constellations Leo the Lion and Virgo the Maiden today. The border crossing sets up a series of nice conjunctions between the bright planet and Virgo’s stars in the coming weeks. The Moon reaches perigee, the closest point in its orbit around Earth, at 1:55 a.m. EDT. It then lies 227,953 miles (366,855 kilometers) from Earth’s center.
Tuesday, October 10
Although autumn began a few weeks ago and the stars of winter’s Orion now rule the morning sky, the Summer Triangle remains prominent on October evenings. Look high in the west after darkness falls and your eyes will fall on the brilliant star Vega in the constellation Lyra the Harp. At magnitude 0.0, Vega is the brightest member of the Triangle. The second-brightest star, magnitude 0.8 Altair in Aquila the Eagle, lies some 35° southeast of Vega. The asterism’s dimmest member, magnitude 1.3 Deneb in Cygnus the Swan, stands about 25° east-northeast of Vega. For observers at midnorthern latitudes, Deneb passes through the zenith between 8 and 9 p.m. local daylight time, about an hour after the last vestiges of twilight disappear.
Wednesday, October 11
Uranus reaches opposition in just nine days, and it is already a tempting evening target. The ice giant world rises during twilight and climbs 30° above the eastern horizon by 9:30 p.m. local daylight time. The magnitude 5.7 planet lies in Pisces, 1.5° west-northwest of magnitude 4.3 Omicron (o) Piscium. Although Uranus glows brightly enough to see with the naked eye under a dark sky, binoculars make the task much easier. A telescope reveals the planet’s blue-green disk, which spans 3.7″.
The Moon today is in a Waning Gibbous Phase. This is the first phase after the Full Moon occurs. It lasts roughly 7 days with the Moon’s illumination growing smaller each day until the Moon becomes a Last Quarter Moon with a illumination of 50%. The average Moon rise for this phase is between 9am and Midnight depending on the age of the phase. The moon rises later and later each night setting after sunrise in the morning. During this phase the Moon can also be seen in the early morning daylight hours on the western horizon.
Phase Details for – Monday, October 9, 2017
Phase: Waning Gibbous
Illumination: 82%
Moon Age: 18.84 days
Moon Angle: 0.55
Moon Distance: 364,500.38 km
Sun Angle: 0.53

Jupiter expands. Mostly, this is good news – optimism, abundance, and the desire to learn and explore are all Jupiter’s general concern.
In astrology, bountiful Jupiter rules travel and foreigners, religion, sport, the law, publishing, studying, gambling, and feeling good. The whole thing about luck and good fortune that’s associated with the transits of Jupiter is born from its generous, upbeat energy. If you’re open-minded and positive, you’ll likely attract helpful people or recognise lucky opportunities when they come along. Certainly, while Jupiter aspects can be very beneficial, they cannot bring anything more than a cheerful (or greedy) mood if we don’t choose to work with what’s on offer.
Here in secretive, watery Scorpio until November 2018, Jupiter expands and explores what’s hidden away in the locked rooms of Scorpio’s house. One of the areas in focus is ‘other people’s money’ – including legacies, insurance pay-outs, investments and initiatives such as crowd-funding. This can be a favourable time to improve personal finances, or get the financial support you need for a project. Many financial events and trends will relate to Jupiter’s realms in some way – sport, religion, law, travel, gambling, and so on.
Scorpio also presides over sex and death – so real intimacy and deep emotions of both joy and sorrow are emphasised during the next twelve months. Our ideas and philosophies around sex, death, and money will be open for much-needed discussion.
If Jupiter in Scorpio’s journey touches our natal horoscope we may get a bit obsessive or intense about sex, death, and other people’s money. Jupiter can trigger the urge to over-do, waste energy, and tends to only see the vastly bigger picture. Is the devil in the details? Probably, the answer is yes.
Out in the world there could be more scrutiny of the sex trade, particularly secretive people-smuggling operations and hidden horrors. Sex tourism will also be highlighted in the news, and perhaps the thorny issue of the mass tourism industry in general.
Secretive financial affairs may come to light when Jupiter connects with Pluto in money-orientated Capricorn during 2018.
Jupiter in Scorpio also favours exploring and studying the paranormal, mysterious hidden histories, and all things witchy and woo-woo. This bewitching theme should really take off when Jupiter links with Neptune in Pisces in November and December – and onwards into 2018. And by the way, Jupiter in Scorpio has not made this flowing aspect with Neptune in Pisces since the 19th century. It’s special.
Jupiter in Scorpio is not for the faint-hearted, the commitment-phobic, or the lazy.
But it invites us to experience new emotional depths in our relationships, following on from Jupiter in Libra’s rather cooler, and simpler, desire for partnerships.
Jupiter was last in Scorpio between October 25th, 2005 and 24th November, 2006. Maybe this was a meaningful time for you? If so, dig into your archives and you’ll discover some themes that are likely to resonate once more in your life during the months ahead.
Ahoy Mates!
Since we are running late and there is a lot of Divination to cover on Mondays,
We will now be sailing onto your Daily Horoscopes, Runes, Tarot and of course, much more.
When we run across a bit of information that we figure might be useful to you, we like to pass it on. This morning on the News, I was listening to it and something caught my attention. With all the security breeches, hax attacks and the latest Equifax disaster, we are all concerned with security. The local News channel has a PC Tech guy who I occasionally listen to and today, he was talked about just this problem. He gave a site(which I have already been there) which you can use to see if any of your email address have been stolen or sold on the dark net. All you have to do, is simply type in your email address and it will tell you if your address has compromised. I did two of our old ones we had closed out a long time ago on Yahoo and guess what? They showed up they had been compromised and also showed me where the breech came from. I am glad I cleared those out. The thieves didn’t get anything just wasted their time. Our other active accounts were fine. But if you are concerned about your on-line security, check out this site. You might be surprised what you uncover.
Even if you burn the midnight oil around here, you never get caught up! I am trying to get back to some sort of routine. I went out in the warehouse and found a whole new supply of stuff. I will be here till eternity. I know it piled up rather quickly. Oh, well, I will get what I can get done and leave the rest for the crew when they come back on Monday. I was dreading Monday, now I am praying for it to hurry up and get here after I saw all these boxes. But speaking of boxes, I am over at the store today adding lots of new merchandise. Got a moment, stop by and check it out. New books of shadows, new oils, new soaps, new spell kits and the list goes on and on. Also the jewelry company in California, the deal when through and I will be adding some of their merchandise today also.
Now off on other things, I am sure you all know Lady Beltane. She is the one who runs Coven Life. Well, she just happens to be in the hospital and didn’t bother telling me because she didn’t want to worry me anymore than I was already. I got an email from her this morning, she is suppose to be out of the hospital Monday. So please light and candle and say a prayer for her speedy recovery. Also that she may have a healthy Winter. She gets sick this early, oh, it don’t look good for Winter. So please say a prayer for her and that she will have good health this coming Winter. She is a sweet lady and I hate to see her sick. I just wish she had told me sooner.
Next, I know this is a long shot but I am going to give it a try anyway. I have been doing a search on Linked-In, Google and every place else for a customer who placed an order on Magickal Necessities. His name is Joey N………… I am trying to contact him in regards to a wrong email address we received for him. I am hoping that he is either a member here or stops by to see what is going on. I know it is a long shot but Joey if you read this, could you please contact me at witches_of_the_craft@outlook.com, it is rather important. Thank you!
Now, I believe that pretty well covers the day for me but I can’t leave without telling you a funny story first…
Yesterday, I was in a hurry to get the daily postings done so I could take the boys fishing. I don’t let them go by themselves because these are farm ponds around here and they are deep in the middle. So we got all our stuff ready and off we went. We haven’t had any rain around here in weeks so the pond’s bottom near the edge is starting to show. We had been going down to the part that had dried, sit and fished there. Well, we got all our stuff out, throw our lines out and sit for about 15 minutes, no bites, That’s unusual because you generally throw your line in and a fish is waiting on it. We got bored, started to move around the pond. Jacob caught a fish, he was thrilled to death. They love to catch them but hate to take them off the line. They generally dangle the fish in front of my face so I can take them off the line. Ha, I told him yesterday it was time he learned how to take them off the line. After a few faces he made, he got the fish off the line. Then when he went to throw it back, he accidentally threw it in the mud. Well, I am not going to watch a fish lay and die in the mud. So I told him to leave it alone I would get it. And boy did I, we have an old superstition if a fish shews water out at you, he has jinxed the rest of your fishing trip. Well, this little bast*&%!, shewed at me. after I was nice enough to go dig him out of the mud, he shewed. I ended up sinking in mud up to my knees. The boys were having a fit, I was going to drown, I was going to drown. Which was really funny because dry land was about 5 inches away from me. Anyway, while one of them when to get the farmers, the other stayed telling me not to move, I was going to drown. We always take the dog with us and I hollered at Kade (the dog) to bring Momma her stick. I always take my staff with us because I use it to climb the hills and occasionally knock a snake in the head. Anyway, Kade knew what I meant. He walks over to the stick and starts rolling it down the hill to me. He got it to point so I could reach it and I put it on solid ground and pulled myself out of the mud. Damn, that mud stunk! By that time, here comes Jacob and the farmers just flying on four wheelers. I could hear Jacob holler, she is drowning, hurry. I couldn’t help but laugh my butt off. We were sitting on top of the hill and I looked like a mud puppy and we were both laughing by this time. All of them were totally confused and couldn’t figure out how on earth I got saved. Until they found out my little 8 pound Pomeranian had saved the day. Long story short, I won’t never call Kade a dumb butt again!
Now I am off to the store, got a minute stop by and see what’s new and oh, yeah, don’t go fishing at any muddy ponds, please!
Till tomorrow, my luvs,
Lady A
I is a good puppy. I saved my Mommie! Ain’t he cute, meanest little poot, you ever seen in your life.
“A year of beauty. A year of plenty.
A year of planting. A year of harvest.
A year of forests. A year of healing.
A year of vision. A year of passion.
A year of rebirth.
This year may we renew the earth.
This year may we renew the earth.
Let it begin with each step we take.
And let it begin with each change we make.
And let it begin with each chain we break.
And let it begin every time we awake.”

Today is Friday, October 6th
Friday is the day of Venus. It takes it name from Frigg, the Goddess of love and transformation. She rules the spiritual side of a person that manifests in the physical. Because of this, Friday is often thought of as dangerously unpredictable. This is expressed in an old East Anglian adage:

On Friday, October 6th, We Honor the Goddess Morrighan
Morrighan
Goddess of War and Sovereignty
In Celtic mythology, the Morrighan is known as a goddess of battle and war. However, there’s a bit more to her than this. Also referred to as Morrígu, Morríghan, or Mor-Ríoghain, she is called the “washer at the ford,” because if a warrior saw her washing his armor in the stream, it meant he was to die that day. She is the goddess who determines whether or not you walk off the field of battle, or are carried off upon your shield.
In later Irish folklore, this role would be delegated to the bain sidhe, who foresaw the death of members of a specific family or clan.
She appears to date from around the Copper Age, based on archaeological findings. Stone stelae have been discovered in the British Isles, France, and Portugal, that are from approximately 3000 b.c.e.
The Morrighan often appears in the form of a crow or raven, or is seen accompanied by a group of them. In the stories of the Ulster cycle, she is shown as a cow and a wolf as well. The connection with these two animals suggest that in some areas, she may have been connected to fertility and land.
In some legends, the Morrighan is considered a triune, or triple goddess, but there are a lot of inconsistencies to this. She often appears as a sister to the Badb and Macha. In some Neopagan traditions, she is portrayed in her role as destroyer, representing the Crone aspect of the Maiden/Mother/Crone cycle, but this seems to be incorrect when one looks at her original Irish history.
Some scholars point out that war specifically is not a primary aspect of the Morrighan, and that her connection to cattle presents her as a goddess of sovereignty. The theory is that she can be seen as a deity who guides or protects a king.
Mary Jones of the Celtic Literature Collective says, “Morrigan is one of the most complex figures in Irish mythology, not the least due to her genealogy.
In the earliest copies of the Lebor Gabála Érenn, there are listed three sisters, named Badb, Macha, and Anann. In the Book of Leinster version, Anann is identified with Morrigu, while in the Book of Fermoy version, Macha is identified with Morrigan… What is most evident is that from the texts, “Morrigan” or “Morrigu” is a title applied to different women who for the most part seem to be sisters or related in some manner, or sometimes it is the same woman with slightly differing names in different manuscripts and redactions. We see that Morrigan is identified with Badb Macha, Anann, and Danann. The first is usually identified with the raven and battle, the second usually identified with the archetypical Celtic horse goddess, the third with the land goddess, and the fo[u]rth with a mother goddess.”
In modern literature, there has been some linking of the Morrighan to the character of Morgan Le Fay in the Arthurian legend. It appears, though, that this is more fanciful thinking than anything else. Although Morgan le Fay appears in the Vita Merlini in the twelfth century, a narrative of the life of Merlin by Geoffrey of Monmouth, it’s unlikely that there’s a connection to the Morrighan.
Scholars point out that the name “Morgan” is Welsh, and derived from root words connected to the sea. “Morrighan” is Irish, and is rooted in words that are associated with “terror” or “greatness.” In other words, the names sound similar, but the relationship ends there.
Today, many Pagans do work with the Morrighan, although many of them describe their relationship with her as being somewhat reluctant at first. John Beckett over at Patheos describes a ritual in which the Morrighan was invoked, and says, “She wasn’t threatening but She was very clearly in command – I think She knew the respect we have for Her and that She didn’t have to convince anybody who She is. She seemed pleased that we were honoring Her and attempting to answer Her call… I want to encourage Pagans to listen for the call of Morrigan.
She’s a complex goddess. She can be blunt, rough, and violent. She is the Battle Raven and is not to be trifled with. But she has a message I believe is critical for our future as Pagans, as humans, and as creatures of the Earth. A storm is coming. Gather your tribe. Reclaim your sovereignty.”
Wondering about some of the major deities of the ancient Celtic world? Although the Celts consisted of societies all over the British Isles and parts of Europe, some of their gods and goddesses have become a part of modern Pagan practice. Here are some of the deities honored by the ancient Celtic peoples.
Brighid, Hearth Goddess of Ireland
A daughter of the Dagda, Brighid is one of the classic triple goddesses of the Celtic pantheon. Many Pagans honor her today as a goddess of the hearth and home, and of divination and prophecy. She’s often associated with the Imbolc sabbat, as well as with fire, domesticity, and family life. Brighid was the patron of poets and bards, as well as healers and magicians. She was especially honored when it came to matters of prophecy and divination.
Cailleach, Ruler of Winter
Cailleach is known in parts of the Celtic world as the hag, the bringer of storms, the Dark Mother of the winter months. However, she features prominently in mythology and is not just a destroyer, but also a creator goddess. According to The Etymological Dictionary Of Scottish-Gaelic the word cailleach itself means “veiled one” or “old woman”. In some stories, she appears to a hero as a hideous old woman, and when he is kind to her, she turns into a lovely young woman who rewards him for his good deeds. In other stories, she turns into a giant gray boulder at the end of winter, and remains this way until Beltane, when she springs back to life.
Cernunnos, Wild God of the Forest
Cernunnos is the horned god found in many traditions of modern Paganism and Wicca. He is an archetype found predominantly in Celtic regions, and symbolizes fertility and masculine energy. Often celebrated around the Beltane sabbat, Cernunnos is associated with the forest, the greening of the earth, and wild stags. He is a god of vegetation and trees in his aspect as the Green Man, and a god of lust and fertility when connected with Pan, the Greek satyr. In some traditions, he is seen as a god of death and dying, and takes time to comfort the dead by singing to them on their way to the spirit world.
Cerridwen, Keeper of the Cauldron
Cerridwen is known in Welsh mythology as the keeper of the Cauldron of the Underworld in which knowledge and inspiration are brewed. She is considered a goddess of prophetic powers, and because her symbol is the Cauldron, she is an honored goddess in many Wiccan and Pagan traditions. The legend of Cerridwen is heavy with instances of transformation: when she is chasing Gwion, the two of them change into any number of animal and plant shapes. Following the birth of Taliesen, Cerridwen contemplates killing the infant but changes her mind; instead she throws him into the sea, where he is rescued by a Celtic prince, Elffin. Because of these stories, change and rebirth and transformation are all under the control of this powerful Celtic goddess.
The Dagda, Father God of Ireland
The Dagda was a father god of the Celtic pantheon, and plays an important role in the stories of the Irish invasions. He was the leader of the Tuatha de Danaan, and a god of fertility and knowledge. His name means “the good god.” In addition to his mighty club, the Dagda also possessed a large cauldron. The cauldron was magical in that it had an endless supply of food in it — the ladle itself was said to be so large that two men could lie in it. The Dagda is typically portrayed as a plump man with a large phallus, representative of his status as a god of abundance.
Herne, God of the Wild Hunt
In British lore, Herne the Hunter is a god of vegetation, vine, and the wild hunt. Similar in many aspects to Cernunnos, Herne is celebrated in the autumn months, when the deer go into rut. He is seen as a god of the common folk, and is typically recognized only around the Windsor Forest area of Berkshire, England. Herne was considered a divine hunter, and was seen on his wild hunts carrying a great horn and a wooden bow, riding a mighty black horse and accompanied by a pack of baying hounds. Mortals who get in the way of the Wild Hunt are swept up in it, and often taken away by Herne, destined to ride with him for eternity. He’s seen as a harbinger of bad omen, especially to the royal family.
Lugh, Master of Skills
Lugh is the Celtic god honored for his skills and gifts as a craftsman. He is the god of blacksmiths, metal-workers and artisans. In his aspect as a harvest god, he is honored on August 1, on the festival known as Lughnasadh or Lammas. Lugh is associated with craftsmanship and skill, particularly in endeavors involving creativity. Although not specifically a war god, Lugh was known as a skilled warrior. His weapons included a mighty magic spear, which was so bloodthirsty that it often tried to fight without its owner. According to Irish myth, in battle, the spear flashed fire and tore through the enemy ranks unchecked.
The Morrighan, Goddess of War and Sovereignty
The Morrighan is known as a Celtic war goddess, but there’s a lot more to her than that. She’s associated with rightful kingship, and the sovereignty of the land. The Morrighan often appears in the form of a crow or raven, or is seen accompanied by a group of them. In the stories of the Ulster cycle, she is shown as a cow and a wolf as well. The connection with these two animals suggest that in some areas, she may have been connected to fertility and land.
Rhiannon, Horse Goddess of Wales
In the Welsh mythological cycle, the Mabinogion, Rhiannon is known as a goddess of the horse. However, she also plays a crucial role in the kingship of Wales. The horse appears prominently in much of Welsh and Irish mythology. Many parts of the Celtic world — Gaul in particular — used horses in warfare, and so it is no surprise that these animals turn up in the myths and legends or Ireland and Wales.
Taliesin, Chief of the Bards
Although Taliesin is a documented historical figure in Welsh history, he has managed to become elevated to the status of a minor god. His mythologized story has elevated him to the status of a minor deity, and he appears in the tales of everyone from King Arthur to Bran the Blessed. Today, many modern Pagans honor Taliesin as a patron of bards and poets, since he is known as the greatest poet of all.
Power Hours: Sunrise and the 8th, 16th, and 24th hours following.
Key Words: Love, money, health
It is easy to spot the ruler of this day by its name. In the word Friday, we see the roots of the name of the Norse goddess Freya, a goddess of love and fertility, and the most beautiful and propitious of the goddesses thus the verse “Friday’s child is loving and giving.”
In Spanish this day of the week is called Viernes and is derived from the goddess Venus. Matters of love, human interaction, the fluidity of communication, sewing and the creation of artistic garments, household improvement, shopping, and party planning all fall under the aspects of Friday and its ruling planet, Venus.
Friday’s angels are Ariel/Uriel, Rachiel, and Sachiel. Rachiel also concerns himself with human sexuality and is a presiding spirit of the planet Venus.
On Fridays, the hour of sunrise and every eight hours after that are also ruled by Venus, and that makes these times of the day doubly blessed. These four hours are the strongest four hours for conducting ritual.
Check the local newspaper, astrological calendar, or almanac to determine your local sunrise.
Love magick is a perennial popular topic. However, there is more to this topic than meets the eye. There are many enchanting layers here for us to explore on this day of the week. What about creating a loving home, or producing a loving and nurturing family? What about keeping your intimate relationships vital and on track? How about promoting happy, healthy, and enduring friendships? See, there is more to be considered than just the “You shall be mine…” type of fictional love spell.
Don’t forget that many of the deities associated with Fridays are also parents. So, yes, while this is the day to work on romance, sex, and love spells, there is additional magick to be considered here, which makes Fridays a more well-rounded and bigger opportunity for witchery than many folks ever truly realize. The truest, strongest magick always comes from the heart.

Friday is named after the Norse goddesses of love, Freya and Frigga. There seems to be some debate as to whom the day is actually named after, so I thought I would share a little information so you can decide for yourself.
In Latin, this day is known as Dies Veneris, “Venus’s day.” In Greek, it’s Hermera Aphrodites, which translates to the “day of Aphrodite.” In Old English, this day is called Frige- daeg, or “Freya’s day.” This day has the Germanic title of Frije-dagaz, which, once again, could be Freya’s day or Frigga’s day.
Both Freya and Frigga were Norse goddesses of love and were the Teutonic equivalent of the Greco-Roman Venus/Aphrodite. However, Freya was one of the Vanir—the gods of fertility who supervised the land and sea—and she was the leader of the Valkyries. Frigga, Odin’s wife, was the goddess of the heavens and of married love. She was one of the Aesir—the gods associated with battle, magick and the sky. Freya and Frigga could be looked upon as different aspects of the same goddess. They both were called on to assist in childbirth and then in naming of the new baby. Frigga represented the faithful wife and loving mother, while Freya, who really captured the hearts and imagination of the Norse people, was the passionate mistress and lover.
Fridays classically are days for love, fertility, romance, and beauty magick, as well as working for happiness, harmony in the home, and friendship. So let’s take a look at some of the mythology involved with this loving, voluptuous, passionate, and luxurious day of the week, and see where it leads us.

You may also use any from of coriander, cinnamon, hyacinth, licorice, yerba maté, rue, myrtle, jasmine, lemon, lavender, jasmine, mastic, rose, peppermint, thyme, or plum. It will work for a year and a day.
“The Celts honored the opposing balance of intertwining forces of existence: darkness and light, night and day, cold and heat, death and life. The Celtic year was divided into two seasons: the light and the dark, celebrating the light at Beltane on May 1st and the dark at Samhain on November 1st. Therefore, the Feast of Samhain marks one of the two great doorways of the Celtic year. Some believe that Samhain was the more important festival, since it marked the beginning of a new dark-light cycle. The Celts observed time as proceeding from darkness to light because they understood that in dark silence comes whisperings of new beginnings, the stirring of the seed below the ground. Therefore, the Celtic year began with the season of An Geamhradh, the dark Celtic winter, and ended with Am Foghar, the Celtic harvest. The Celtic day began at dusk, the beginning of the dark and cold night, and ended the following dusk, the end of a day of light and warmth. Since dusk is the beginning of the Celtic day, Samhain begins at dusk on October 31. Samhain marks the beginning of An Geamhradh as well as the New Year. Whereas Beltane was welcomed in the summer light with joyous celebrations at dawn, the most magically potent time of Samhain was at night. Oidhche Shamhna, the Eve of Samhain, was the most important part of the celebration. Villagers gathered the best of the autumn harvest and slaughtered cattle for the feast. The focus of each village’s festivities was a great bonfire. Villagers cast the bones of the slaughtered cattle upon the flames. (Our word bonfire comes from these “bone fires.”) Personal prayers in the form of objects symbolizing the wishes of supplicants or ailments to be healed were cast into the fire. Many sacrifices and gifts were offered up in thanksgiving for the harvest. With the great bonfire roaring, the villagers extinguished all other fires. Each family then solemnly lit their hearth from the one great common flame, bonding all families of the village together. As they received the flame that marked this time of beginnings, people surely felt a sense of the kindling of new dreams, projects and hopes for the year to come.”

Moon in Aries
We’re motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. A gut instinct to start something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so. Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. We may also be tactless and impulsive now. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.
The Moon in Aries generally favors the following activities: Quick actions that yield immediate results. Undertakings that involve the self and the personality. (Staying power may be lacking). Self-assertion, taking on challenges, beginning short-term projects.
The Sky This Week for October 6 to October 8
Friday, October 6
The second brightest asteroid of 2017 puts on a nice show in October’s sky. Minor planet 7 Iris glows at magnitude 7.5, which is bright enough to see through binoculars from the suburbs. It resides in the constellation Aries the Ram, a region that climbs high in the east by late evening. Iris stands 3° due east of Aries’ brightest star, magnitude 2.0 Hamal (Alpha [a] Arietis), all week.
Saturday, October 7
Uranus reaches opposition in less than two weeks, but it is already a tempting evening target. The ice giant world rises within a half-hour after sunset and climbs more than 30° above the eastern horizon by 10 p.m. local daylight time. The magnitude 5.7 planet lies in Pisces, 1.4° west-northwest of magnitude 4.3 Omicron (o) Piscium. Although Uranus glows brightly enough to see with the naked eye under a dark sky, binoculars make the task much easier. A telescope reveals the planet’s blue-green disk, which spans 3.7″.
Mars reaches aphelion at 6 p.m. EDT, when the planet’s orbital motion carries it farthest from the Sun. It then lies 154.9 million miles (249.2 million kilometers) from our star.
Sunday, October 8
Look high in the east after darkness falls this week and you should see autumn’s most conspicuous star group. The Great Square of Pegasus stands out in the evening sky at this time of year, though it appears balanced on one corner and looks more diamond-shaped. These four almost equally bright stars form the body of Pegasus the Winged Horse. The fainter stars that form the rest of this constellation’s shape trail off to the square’s west.
Mercury passes behind the Sun from Earth’s perspective at 5 p.m. EDT. This means the innermost planet lies on the opposite side of the Sun from Earth and remains hidden in our star’s glare. It will return to view in the evening sky at the end of October

It is more like the “Crazy Witches Digest for Thursday, October 5th”
Good morning, my dear, sweet family! I hope you are having a wonderful day because I sure ain’t. Somewhere along the line, I sort of forgot we run a business (imagine that?). Yesterday, I checked on the business site, did some up dating and that was it. I took down why there hadn’t been any activity on the site because Mystie had passed. Figured I needed some sense of reality back in my life so I put up the “October’s Customer’s Appreciation” special and also announced the blowout sale we were having on incense. I will tell you about those later on, I do remember I am a witch and a business woman.
So after I got through posting, I checked our PayPal account and was floored. It had made a significant jump. Of course, I immediately thought of the memorial fund for the boys. I thought you thought I was torturing them by feeding them rabbit and fish. Then something in the back of my head told me I better check into this payments and see for sure. It is a damn good thing I did, they were orders. I was stunned for a bit but apparently people had been waiting for the store to come back to life and order. Surprised the crap out of me. I have been filling the biggest part of the orders this morning. Since I am the only one here right now, I went into Mystie’s office and pulled up her computer. I have went back through emailing customers if they had received their orders or not and what had happened. I received lots of wonderful emails back, saying they understood completely and they were sorry for our loss. Then it hit me, I better check the email. The email is a nightmare. I have been at it since 7:30 this morning and am no where never being through. The lady pulling her hair out, don’t even come close to how I feel right now. What a mess?
Then it dawned on me, I better run over here and tell y’all what was going on. I didn’t want you to think I had run off (not yet anyway!). So it does look like I am going to spend the rest of the day straightening out the business. Hopefully, I will have it straightened out by Monday, that is when everyone is suppose to come back to work. I can tell you now that is not a day I am look forward too. The last time I saw any of them was at Mystie’s funeral. I told them then to take some time off, get themselves together, grieve, do whatever they had to do but when they came back to work, no tears. Might sound cruel but I don’t believe I could stand a bunch of crying witches right now. Every time the boys are out doing something, I cry. I don’t want to cry in front of them because I am suppose to be their rock. Yeah, a crumbled rock but a rock, never the less. I believe everyone knows they are here and I have asked them to please be strong for them if nothing else. So, we will see how Monday goes…
Talked to Lord M, he had an offer on his property but they only wanted to pay him half of what it was worth. He wanted to know if I thought he should take it, I asked him if he was crazy. He is worried about going off and leaving me with the boys. I told him we were making it. The boys were learning lots of new skills, hunting, fishing, trapping and then asked me if I was crazy. He has plans to build on to my cabin so we will have room to live as a family and raise the boys the way Mystie wanted them raised. We have a understanding, he is going to have his room and I am going to have mine. I also told him I was drawing a line down the middle and if he crossed over to my side, I was going to beat him with a ball bat. Not really, we are going to provide the boys with a nice, quiet, loving environment (even if I do end up living in the tent in the backyard).
One more thing and then I will shut up, I promise. I don’t know how to say it except to get right to the point, I have heard several mention we are cursed or hexed. I can guarantee you we aren’t. I believe most of you have told me, you can feel my presence and power coming through your computers. I would know if we are and we ain’t. We have always made our life and the events that happen in them open to all. We have no secrets, people have always expected more from us. When we can’t deliver, we tell you why. We are a close knit group and family here because you know us. I believe you probably know more about us than any other site or group on the net. We want it that way. I have been criticized for being too open. Many years ago, when my plans were found out for the WOTC, I had some really come down on me hot and heavy. But I have always believed that you can’t make a connection with a person if they know nothing about you. I tell you the things I do because I want you to be part of my family and be considered part of yours. I want you to know we are witches and we are also human. We live normal lives every day just like you. We have problems and tragedies just like you. But I want you to know one thing, those problems and tragedies only make you stronger. You learn, you grow and you go on, no matter how hard it is. It is part of the mundane life that we have to endure but it is also part of our magickal journey. I believe and I want you to believe that no matter what happens, hold tight to your faith. The Goddess will never give you more than you can handle. We are not meant to know why things happen but there is always a reason they do. We might never know that reason either but we must cling to our faith and our Goddess. I know she will see you through, just as she has me. No matter what, never let go of your faith because sometimes that is all you have and dear friends like you.
Now enough with the preaching (yeah, I know but you ought to know I like to use that word ever now and again), I promised to show the specials for this month on the store……
(I can’t remember nothing. If we have offered this bowl before let me know and I will change it to another one)
3″ Pentagram Offering Bowl
This copper offering bowl has been decorated with the brass accent of a mystical symbol of the pentagram and is sized to easily fit any altar or rest before any icon. These are gorgeous bowls and add a very magickal aura to your altar.
To keep them looking beautiful, try an old trick I learned from my father. When he retired he opened up an old hobby shop (well that is what he called it anyway). He has a large collection of old coins. No matter what the metal was, he could get some cream of tarter and wet a cloth. Then he would rinse the coin, clean and polish it. It works as long as you keep at it. Try this trick and your new altar bowl will shine like new for as long as you own it.
With any order over $15.00, look for this beauty in your package.
“Blow-Out Sale”
On All Our Incense
Incense now priced at $1.00 with free
shipping!
We have also dropped our free shipping to orders on $25.00 or more. Just give me a chance to change that in the back! We have tons of new oils and I am currently negotiating with a jewelry company in California for us to sell a line of their jewelry. If this goes through, you have never seen jewelry like this company offers, beautiful and all sterling silver. Keep your fingers crossed!
So I am now off (in more ways than one) to get the business straightened out and I will definitely see you tomorrow. Sorry about today and oh, yeah, thanks for being my family and friends and most of all listening…..

All in all this year is shaping up to be a hot mess. In the last three months alone we have experienced some powerful eclipses and the strongest solar flares in recorded history. Waves of potent cosmic energy have been unleashed adding an explosive force to the incoming energies. This has created a precarious and shifting environment where emotions are being heighted, patience is being tested and generally, this human existence is now rather uncomfortable. All in all this is adding to the apparent chaos and turmoil being experienced in the world today. Of course there is Divine purpose in all of this but it sure ain’t an easy ride at present.
The incoming energy is both unpredictable and volatile intensifying the need for change and transformation both internally and externally. We have reached a point of no return as the foundational energies of the entire solar system, including the Earth, are being dissolved. As a result, the vibrational field of the Earth is changing. Storms, both the physical and the energetic, are sweeping the planet, supporting the dissolution of the old energetic framework and foundation through which our reality was built. The very ground we stand upon is altering thus impacting and rapidly expanding consciousness on the planet.
A deeper awareness of our collective unity is urging us to create a firm connection between the subtle luminous realms of the soul and the tangible material world, which grounds and anchors us to the Earth. Thus every aspect of who we are is being fully activated and the deeper egoic aspects of our human nature are dissipating. As a result, painful emotions, deep-rooted traumas and old karmic patterns have been coming up for healing and release. Feelings of fear, shame, doubt, guilt and denial are being transmuted while long suppressed emotions, neglected grief, pain and suffering are rising to be cleared.
The potent energy of this month brings the start of a significant new life cycle and the end of any disconnection between your inner and outer realities. A new sense of balance is being formed and you are being fully aligned with the New Earth’s energetic structure. Initially, this may feel quite disorientating as a deeper embodiment and a deeper grounding is required to firmly establish yourself in the New Earth reality. Flexibility, adaptability and realignment are important to maintain stability in this unstable environment.
You will find your identity shifting more and more to the soul self as this essence must now guide all your actions, deeds and creations. With this shift, you will be released from old behaviors and rigid patterning. Feelings and emotions may arise as you are freed from old wounds and past traumas. Honor these feelings as they bring profound wisdom for your soul. Remember that painful life experiences are equally as valuable as the happy ones. Learn to embrace your life experiences, the pain and the suffering. Learn to move beyond your personal history and into the enchanted world of your soul.
Being fully present in this process and yet fully immersed in your soul essence enables you to extend yourself beyond the boundaries of the individual self and into the vast regions of your soul. The need for unity of body, mind, heart, spirit and soul will increase bringing an understanding that the unifying power of these aspects must become the primary source and driving force behind all of life. By firmly establishing this unified force within, you are able to better ground the incoming energies into the new energetic structure of the planet. In this way, you stabilize yourself, the forces of nature and thus the unfolding new Earth reality.
Don’t resist the abrupt changes that may suddenly occur in your life. Remember that change is all about the ebb and flow of life cycles. Nothing remains fixed. You are always experiencing birth, growth, death and rebirth. Endings and new beginnings are occurring at the same time always. You cannot live in the past. It is time now to move on.
These times of profound transformation and opportunity will expand you in more ways than you could ever imagine. A new awareness, a new purpose and a new sense of direction is arising and with it, a new life filled with the joy and blessings of the New Earth reality. This reality is a sanctuary of universal love. It is motivated by infinite compassion and upheld by the cosmic embrace of the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine. Remember that you have come to this Earth in service to humanity. You are here to fully embrace the path of conscious living and to fulfill your destiny as a reflection of the divinity your carry within.

Hi, my friend,
It’s a blessing for me to connect with you in this way.
After a rocky few days at the beginning of October, this month has the potential to usher in beautiful new gifts and miracles into our lives, so let’s get right to them.
Passion Leads to Miracles
The first week of October will be filled with lots of passion, high and creative energy.
With this much passion and creative energy in the air, it’s important to give it a healthy and productive outlet.
When the energy of passion is fully acknowledged and honored, it has the ability to manifest extraordinary new miracles in our lives.
If passion is not fully acknowledged and honored, the mind tends to internalize it as “anger,” which often leads to blocks and breakdowns in our body, mind, energy field, and experience.
If we do find ourselves feeling angry, viewing it as feedback that can help us redirect our focus to honor the passion within us that desires to fully be expressed, will help tremendously.
Passion is one of the main ingredients that helps us to manifest miracles in our lives.
Passion is a palpable energy that can actually be felt in the body. When passion is expressed physically in a sensual way, it has the power to actually heal and rejuvenate the body. When passion is expressed emotionally in a sensual way, it takes the feeling of well-being to a whole new and expanded level.
If we are someone who has an illness or other imbalance in the body and emotions, opening ourselves up to being more sensual will assist us tremendously.
Being sensual is often a challenge for many people, especially those who are sensitive to energy. The mind often views sensuality as something that requires vulnerability, which it equates with being weak and exposed to judgment, disappointment, or a hurt of some kind.
These misconceptions around sensuality have taught us to create an energetic armor around ourselves that keeps us safe, or what our mind believes is safe.
Yet one of the boldest and most courageous things we can do in today’s world is to be vulnerable.
Being vulnerable simply means we allow ourselves to be open and available to ourselves and others.
When someone wears a self-protective armor for long periods of time, they become stiff and rigid.
This kind of rigidity of the mind and body ultimately leads to feelings of disconnect from our Spirit.
The remedy for a rigid, overly self-protective mind and body, is love.
We experience sensuality when we are able to fully express love through our sense of sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell.
Once these senses are activated, our inner senses are then able to awaken and strengthen the mind and body’s connection to our Spirit. This is when we are able to notice, feel, and receive the miracle of life available to us daily.
Our Spirit has and will only ever know love, joy, wholeness, freedom, beauty, abundance, well-being. Anything less is simply not coming from our Spirit.
With this awareness, take a moment to reflect on allowing yourself to experience sensuality.
Knowing all that we know now, are we willing to work with the energy of sensuality to help heal the parts of us that have forgotten how to give and receive love?
Because if we are ready to heal, the next few weeks are offering us the opportunity to let go of the armor, and to open ourselves up to the miracles of life.
Here are some suggestions to help us become more sensual so that we can be open to all the blessings our Spirit desires to give us:
• Taking a warm bath (adding our favorite essential oils)
• Listening to soothing music that feels good to our Soul
• Receiving a massage or experiencing some kind of soothing/healing physical touch
• Writing/journaling a romantic letter to ourselves, and then to a romantic partner (if we are in relationship)
• Expressing ourselves through art (playing music, painting, drawing, dancing, pottery making)
There are many ways to awaken and express your sensuality and passion, so let this list simply be a starting point for you.
A Call to Action
The second and third week of October will be all about taking action.
This will be a great time to come up with or revise an action plan to help us manifest more of our desires.
We will feel highly productive, so it’s important to not allow ourselves to get distracted by anything that might move us out of that productivity. If we remain steadfast, we will accomplish many things during this time.
We will also want to keep a journal close to us around this time, to write down the insights and ideas we receive from the cosmic realms.
This will be a time where we begin receiving energetic downloads that will inspire us to see things from a more expanded perspective. Things we may not have noticed before will now come to light in a big way.
This is also the time to keep our eyes, heart, and mind open to the unexpected.
The energy of surprise will be strong, specifically around the time of the New Moon on October 19, so any time between the 17th to the 24th will be ripe for some kind of surprise to show up.
Strengthening Our Intuitive Gifts
The final week of October will offer us a time to go within and start developing our intuitive gifts even more.
Developing our natural intuitive gifts will allow us to view things from a much more expanded perspective.
As we develop our intuitive gifts, we may also start to notice energy more. This can show up as seeing the auras around people, animals, and things in nature.
We may notice that we can feel energy more. This can show up as goosebumps in the body, or warmth in the hands, feet, back of the neck, face, or stomach.
We may also notice number sequences more, such as the clock reading 11:11, 2:22, 3:33, etc. This often happens to help us realize a synchronicity that is going on around us.
We may notice energy balls of blue, pink, white, or golden light in our peripheral vision.
We may also see sparks (like mini shooting stars). This happens to remind us to pay attention to what’s happening around us in that moment. There’s usually a message or confirmation trying to reveal itself.
Our ability to connect with and hear our intuition will become easier.
We may notice an awakening of new or old desires to learn more about healing and energy therapies.
We may notice a desire to help and support others coming through even more clearly.
All of these gifts, and much more, are already within each of us.
There are periods of time that are more conducive to helping us develop these gifts, and the end of October ushers in one of those times.
So, if there’s a class, course, new book, group, or personal practice you feel drawn to, this will be an excellent time to immerse yourself in it!
Overall, October will be gentler energetically then the past several months have been.
As always, make sure to nurture and take good care of yourself.
Until next time,
Miraculously yours,
Emmanuel
Awesome October is here! Such a sweet energy is bestowed on us this month. The themes are Love, Beauty & Balance. After the whirlwind go-go-go energy of September now is your time to restore your body and mind, as you focus on relationships.
In this forecast video, I share with you the many ways you can maintain balance and harmony in your relationships and life, so you can have a truly beautiful rest of your year. Enjoy and share the love.
The past is full of unanswered questions. Let them go and embrace the future. You have the power to shape your life to your true dreams and desires. Now you just have to find out what they are my friend. Someone you did not think you would like dealing with in business turns out to be your perfect match.
TAURUS (April 21st-May 21st)
Time spent going over all that happened in the last two months can help you to let go of some of the guilt which has built up. Let go of your worries and grab hold of the constructive influences your stars are offering to you instead. Past and present mix perfectly from Tuesday, take advantage of this.
GEMINI (May 22nd-June 21st)
There is a more balanced feel to your chart than we have seen in some time. This has a lot to do with how much more accommodating you are to the third parties who affect your life. Careful this weekend, it is going to be all too easy for you to be led astray. Know how far is too far for a sign such as you to go. An important relationship depends on this.
CANCER (June 22nd-July 23rd)
Family matters have proved more stressful than usual to deal with. You may feel like cutting down on time with certain faces for fear they are going to bring you down further. Confronting them is the answer to you feeling in control. Stand tall and strong and be the best version of you. Doing so can help you form several new and lasting friendships.
LEO (July 24th-August 23rd)
The best friends (and lovers) are the ones who love you just as you are, whatever your situation. Travel plans are approaching which make your future a more interesting place to be. Don’t fight what your heart is telling you this week. Honesty is the key to you finding lasting happiness.
VIRGO (August 24th-September 23rd)
You have to believe in yourself and your dreams or they cannot become a reality. You start to see with ease who is on your side and who has been secretly working against you from Monday. Distancing yourself from those who have not been the allies they seem can do wonders for your confidence. Being on time for all meetings, both personal and professional, will put you back in the driving seat in life.
LIBRA (September 24th-October 23rd)
When one door closes, another opens, but sometimes we look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see our new path. Take time out to listen to what those around you are trying to say. They are only speaking with your best interests at heart. Chance encounters on Sunday prove memorable.
SCORPIO (October 24th-November 22nd)
Your jealousy about a certain person or situation could well become a problem if you are not careful. Take a step back my friend and look at the bigger picture. You will soon see that events this month have proved you are a priority to those on your mind. You just couldn’t see for looking!
SAGITTARIUS (November 23rd-December 21st)
You’ll only know with hindsight if a decision was right or wrong. If you can’t decide on something this week then take the risk and do it anyway. Follow your heart Sagittarius and you will find that you will make the right choices. Phone calls you didn’t expect to receive help you make sense of a recent social drama.
CAPRICORN (December 22nd-January 20th)
Why do you keep trying to rush forward to the future when there is so much to appreciate today? Stop Capricorn and look around. Decide that from here on in you will see only those things which are positive in your life. The bad can wait for another day, or can be pushed to the side permanently.
AQUARIUS (January 21st-February 19th)
There is a really social feel to your chart. You just need to make up your mind sooner rather than later what and who you want to be your priority. Children are of special significance and should be responsible for some good news before Friday. In fact, the very things you thought weren’t going to work out in your life can and will.
PISCES (February 20th-March 20th)
Try not to tell tales on new friends or you will ruin the chance of your union going any further. Showing pride in your work can attract powerful faces into your life. You start to see what needs to be done to get the family to work as more of a team. This is a great week for you to take tests, go for job interviews and tie up professional loose ends.
ARIES (March 21st-April 20th)
The planets line up to hand you the gift of insight. You start to feel more in tune with who’s good for your life and who’s been leading you up a very windy garden path. Being nice to younger faces today brings you total honesty.
TAURUS (April 21st-May 21st)
Letting go of the past pays dividends and you start to focus on what is possible for your future. Because of the influence of two characters, one personal and one professional, you begin to believe in yourself again.
GEMINI (May 22nd-June 21st)
Your social life is looking better by the day. You have so much to give to those around you. One of the best characteristics you have but have not been using is your sense of humour. It can and will carry you through todays antics.
CANCER (June 22nd-July 23rd)
Don’t tell lies as even white ones will come back on you. Try to stick to the facts. They are what will give you the will, drive and inspiration to be the best version of yourself my friend.
LEO (July 24th-August 23rd)
The written word could lose or make you money, depending on how far you’re willing to go to save face or make peace. Stick to truths. If it doesn’t get someone on side now, it will by the end of this month.
VIRGO (August 24th-September 23rd)
Your social life comes under the spotlight and you are faced with the chance to mix with a new and alternative set of friends. Don’t pretend to be someone you’re not. It’s the real you that’s attracted them and can make them stay in your life.
LIBRA (September 24th-October 23rd)
Try to look at the bigger picture Libra, stop trying to read in between the lines. You’ll feel like a better person if you do. News from far away gives you reason to want to plan an important journey for later this year.
SCORPIO (October 24th-November 22nd)
You start to see which path is right for you and which one was totally wrong for you! It’s not your fault, but you’ve been easily led astray in recent weeks. The stars line up to change that from today.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23rd-December 21st)
Your element of fire helps you to make quick decisions which is handy as time is limited today. Don’t listen to what others say, but instead trust your own heart and steer yourself in the direction you choose.
CAPRICORN (December 22nd-January 20th)
Try to be careful how much of other’s lives you reveal. News you think is common knowledge could in fact be anything but! Travel you make in the name of work pays dividends, even if it means paying for it yourself.
AQUARIUS (January 21st-February 19th)
If you attempted to do even half the things you are capable of, you would astound yourself Aquarius. Use today to think ‘outside the box.’ It’s the key to you moving on from what went wrong last week.
PISCES (February 20th-March 20th)
You seem to have lost control of your career, or could it be that you have given others control of your work options Pisces? Fresh inspiration comes with alternative faces you meet through last minute work offers.
If You Were Born on Wednesday, October 4th
Overall a responsible and practical person, you are not, however, a stick in the mud. Your interests are many and varied, and you are skilled at presenting your ideas to others in a unique way. You are both an interesting and interested person, always learning, ever curious, but also rather stubborn when it comes to your ideas and opinions. Under pressure, you might feel the need to make up stories, as your reputation is important to you, and you instinctively fear misrepresentation. Your slow yet steady approach to achieving your goals assures your success, even if it doesn’t come early. Your ideas are ahead of their time, and others tend to respect your advice.
Famous people born today: Charlton Heston, Jackie Collins, Anne Rice, Susan Sarandon, Alicia Silverstone, Rachael Leigh Cook, Buster Keaton.
ARIES (March 21st-April 20th)
You’re trying to change, but the thing people love most about you is your individuality Aries! Don’t try to be someone you’re not, but embrace who you are. It’s the key to you feeling the best version of you.
TAURUS (April 21st-May 21st)
There is a distance you have placed between yourself and a loved one. You need to ask yourself if this is something you have forced them to do, or something they have done without reason? Aspects suggest you need to both meet in the middle.
GEMINI (May 22nd-June 21st)
As Helen Keller once said, ‘Optimism is the faith which leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.’ Thinking you can will ensure you achieve your aims today and will also give you the upper hand with that negative influence.
CANCER (June 22nd-July 23rd)
Today it no longer feels as if you are faced by limitations. In fact, all you see now are new possibilities and the chance to test your abilities. You can and will rise to the challenge.
LEO (July 24th-August 23rd)
Try to keep the news you hear from others to yourself today. You don’t want to rain on their parade and take away their moment of glory, do you? Forging ahead with an independent career idea is where your time and energy is best spent.
VIRGO (August 24th-September 23rd)
Confidence is your superpower, so use it well my friend. If you can believe in where you’re going and what you want, then you will have what it takes to make the impossible possible this month.
LIBRA (September 24th-October 23rd)
You may not realise it, but you have conquered so many challenges since the beginning of the year. Have faith in where you’re going my friend. This is one month where anything you want is within your grasp.
SCORPIO (October 24th-November 22nd)
I can see you’re really tired with your situation, but we need to ask what you are going to do about that, don’t we Scorpio? New ambitions link to travel and can make your life the most interesting it has ever been.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23rd-December 21st)
Confidence is the sexiest thing to have and it is the key to you realising you are more than capable of making the best of your life. What went wrong last month was actually a blessing in disguise, Sagittarius.
CAPRICORN (December 22nd-January 20th)
Teaching and education come to the fore. If you were thinking of learning something you have never done before then this is the perfect month to sign up for it. A financial ‘issue’ doesn’t have to be a problem if you ask for help today.
AQUARIUS (January 21st-February 19th)
Gambles in love are well worth taking today. They have the ability to help you turn an ordinary year into an extraordinary one. News from far away makes you realise you’ve left it far too long to touch base with someone important.
PISCES (February 20th-March 20th)
You haven’t been feeling as strong as you should, but I also see that you have been allowing those around you to take advantage of you. Stand tall and stand up for yourself today. It will grant you the respect you crave.

On Wednesday, October 4th, We Celebrate the God Hermes
Hermes
Greek God of Trade, Eloquence and Messenger of the Gods
Hermes was one of the 12 Olympian Gods and was god of trade, thieves, travelers, sports, athletes, and border crossings, guide to the Underworld. He was the second youngest Olympian god and was the son of Zeus and Maia, one of the seven Pleiades and daughter of the Titan Atlas.
As the god of boundaries and transitions, Hermes was known to be quick and cunning and had the ability to freely move between the mortal and divine worlds. It is this skill that made him a luck-bringing messenger to the gods and intercessor between mortals and the divine.
He is also the patron and protector of travelers, herdsmen, thieves, orators and wit, literature and poets, athletics and sports, invention and trade. In some myths Hermes is also depicted as a trickster where he would outwit the gods either for the good of humankind or for his own personal amusement and satisfaction.
Both Homer and Hesiod portrayed Hermes as the author of skilled or deceptive acts, and also as a benefactor of mortals.
Facts about Hermes
Hermes was the son of Zeus and Maia, one of the Pleiades.
He primarily served as the herald or messenger of the gods.
Hermes was the god of shepherds, land travel, and literature. More specifically, he was known as a patron of poetry.
His interests were varied and widespread.
In his role as herald, it also fell to him to conduct souls to Hades.
As was the case with other gods, Hermes was known for abundant love affairs with mortals, goddesses, and nymphs.
According to some sources, Hermes was associated with fertility and good fortune.
Hermes is most often presented as a graceful youth, wearing a winged hat and winged sandals. This is how he appeared to Perseus when he and Athena arrived to help the hero kill Medusa.
Hermes was considered a “trickster” due to his cunning and clever personality.
Hermoea was the name given to the riotous festivals thrown in his honor.
Hermes was born in a cave on a mountain in Arcadia; he was conceived and born within the course of one day.
His son Pan was half man, half goat. Pan’s mother was named Dryope, and she was terrified of her son’s strange appearance.
Abderus, another of Hermes’ sons, was a friend to Hercules. He met his fate when he was devoured by the Mares of Diomedes.
Hermaphroditus (also known as Aphroditus) was an androgynous deity and the offspring of Hermes and Aphrodite.
The tortoise is a symbol of Hermes.
Hermes freed Io, one of Zeus’ lovers, from the giant Argus.
Hermes talked the nymph Calypso into releasing Odysseus.
Hermes played a part in the infamous love story of Orpheus and Eurydice. After Eurydice is granted one day on earth with her husband, it is Hermes who escorts her back to the underworld.
He was a patron of thieves. On the day of his birth, Hermes stole cattle from Apollo.
He was the only one other than Hades and Persephone who was allowed to leave the underworld without consequence.
He was the god of boundaries, both literal and figurative.

The Magickal Day of Wednesday
Wednesday is named for Woden himself, although the Romans called it dies Mercurii. This is a day associated with the color purple, the planet Mercury, and the metal quicksilver – which is also called mercury. See a pattern here?
When it comes to deities… yes, Mercury! However, there are a few other gods associated with Wednesday, including Odin and Hermes, Athena, and Lugh. Gemstones like adventurine and agate come in handy as well, as do plants such as aspen trees, lilies, lavender and even ferns.
Business and job-related issues, communication, loss and debt, traveling, and journeys are all tied in to Wednesday. This is a good day to do a working to open up lines of communication – especially if your own actions are preventing you from being an effective speaker or listener. Go someplace new or return to an old favorite stomping ground, step up your game, and settle up your accounts.

The Witches Guide to Wednesday
Ruler: Wodin, Mercury
Colors: Orange, light blue, and gray
Power Hours: Sunrise and the 8th, 16th, and 24th hours following
Keywords: Success, creativity, communication
The word Wednesday is reminiscent of the Norse wind god Wodin, which is referenced in the popular rhyme verse “Wednesday’s child is full of woe.” This does not mean that those born on this day are full of sorrow or trouble. To be full of Woden (Wodin) means to be full of wind, to be spirited. Woden was such a powerful pagan god that the German church fathers changed the name of his day to Mittwoch, meaning midweek, in an attempt to exorcise his influence.
In the Spanish word for Wednesday, miercoles, we clearly see its connection to Mercury. Under the guidance of Mercury; Wednesday is a day of swift activity, communication, correspondence, and phone calls. This is a good day for journalists, writers, poets, bargaining, hiring employees, and visiting friends.
On Wednesdays, the hour of sunrise and every eight hours after that are also ruled by Mercury, making these times of the day doubly blessed. These are the strongest four hours for ritual work. Check your local newspaper, astrological calendar, or almanac to determine when sunrise occurs.
Be bold and daring today! Expand your knowledge of the Craft by working with the planetary energies of Mercury on this multifaceted day of the week. Consider the Greco-Roman gods Mercury and Hermes and all of the many lessons they have for you. Embrace change and movement, and work on your communication techniques. Conjure up a little good luck for yourself with that Mercury dime spell. Call on Athena to inspire you to try magickal arts and crafts and to be more creative in your own spellwork and witchery.
Meditate on Odin and see what you can discover about him. I wonder what sort of fabulous and fascinating magickal wisdom you will uncover? Odin is a shaman, after all; he may appear in many guises and faces. I guarantee that he will make you laugh at yourself before he is through with you, but you will learn. It’s up to you what you do with that knowledge. Will you let it shapeshift into wisdom?
Wednesday is the wild and wily day of the week, so try to go with the flow; don’t fight the quirky energies of the day. Most importantly, follow your heart, and always keep a good sense of humor, because of Wednesdays you will really need it.

How to Find Your Spirit Guide
In that piece, we discuss some of the most popular types of guides you might encounter. Following on the heels of that article, the second most popular piece is one on Spirit Guide Warning Signs – which reviews some of the red flags you should watch for in any entity that claims to be a spirit guide.
Of equal importance, and one that we’ve overlooked for a while, is a discussion on how to actually find and identify spirit guides. Let’s dive in and take a look at some of the most popular methods of finding a spirit guide. Do keep in mind that not all of these will work for everyone every time – it’s a good idea to try different approaches to see which one works best for you. Also, it’s worth noting that not every single person is going to have, find, or meet a spirit guide right off the bat – if you try these methods and nothing happens, then instead of emailing us about it, just give it some time and try again at some point in the future.
1. Intuition
Ever hear that soft little voice in your head that tells you it’s time to do something? Turn right at the stop sign instead of left, make a big change even though it’s scary, or sit back and listen to what people are saying… all of these are things that the little inner voice might be telling you, and yet often, we dismiss it.
Some people believe that this intuitive voice is actually indicative of the presence of a spirit guide. Learn to evaluate your intuitive ideas, and see if they’re correct. If they are, it’s possible that this is your spirit guide talking to you.
2. Meditation
While there are a number of guided meditations you can do to meet spirit guides, available commercially, there’s no need to spend money on a CD or download. Instead, take some time to meditate on your own – be sure to read our Meditation 101 article for basics on getting started. As you begin, make sure you’re clearing your mind out of anything that’s not related to meeting your spirit guide.
For many people, this mediation takes the form of a journey. Imagine yourself walking in a remote place, far from the madding crowd. Perhaps you’re in a forest, or on a mountainside, or out in the plains of the Midwest. As you wander, chances are good that you’ll meet someone along the way – and this person could be your spirit guide. Often, spirit guides are representative archetypes – that means they can be someone who symbolizes other things. For instance, your spirit guide might look like Abraham Lincoln. That doesn’t necessarily mean that Honest Abe is your spirit guide, but that he represents certain things to you – honesty, freedom, perseverence, and so on.
3. Dream Journeys
Similar to meditation, a dream journey – which some people refer to as a vision quest – is a way of finding a spirit guide through the subconscious.
However, unlike in meditation, during a dream journey, you’re actually asleep. Lucid dreaming is the practice of dreaming with a purpose – as you go to bed, focus on what you wish to dream about. In this case, focus on meeting a spirit guide. Lucid dreaming can be a little tricky to get the hang of, but once you’ve done it a few times, you’ll be able to pre-plan the basics of where you’re going in your dreams, and what you might be doing there.
Because we tend to forget our dreams fairly quickly, it’s important to write down any messages you get during a dream journey, as well as information about anyone you happen to meet. You can go back later and evaluate it for patterns and meaning.
4. Signs, Symbols & Omens
We often talk here at About Pagan/Wiccan about people looking for symbolism where there isn’t any, and then failing to recognize it when it’s right in front of them.
Some spirit guides will make themselves known to you with a series of symbols and signs. These may be very basic ones – perhaps you keep seeing blue things, and you’ve never noticed them before – or they may be more complex.
Many people believe that if you want answers from your spirit guide, you need to ask them a question – don’t just assume that they’re going to spoon feed you information that’s beneficial. Ask a question, or at the very least, ask for a solution to a dilemma, and then watch for signs or omens that provide an answer.
Kiersta is a Pagan who lives in southern Ohio, and she was trying to decide whether or not she should return to college after a ten-year-absence. “I kept weighing the pros and cons, and really couldn’t make a decision because everything was pretty evenly balanced. After about three months of waffling around, I put it out there to my spirit guides. I figured if I was meant to go back and get my nursing degree, I’d get a sign. If I didn’t get one, I’d know it wasn’t the right time. Within a span of about five days, I kept seeing things that made me realize I needed to go – little signs, like college symbols popping up at random places, a song on the radio, a license plate in front of me that said AWSUM RN, stuff like that. The kicker was when I had to take my son to the emergency room for a nasty sports injury, and after seeing how calm I was, the doctor turned to me and said, “You ever think about going into nursing?”
5. Psychic Evaluation/Divination
Ideally, most people find they want to discover their spirit guide on their own. If you’re skilled at divination, you can try a variety of divination methods yourself to see if you can contact a spirit guide – you don’t necessarily have to pay a psychic to do this for you.
However, if none of the above methods are really working out for you, another option is to have a psychic do some divination to help you meet your spirit guide. A talented psychic can often see if you’ve got guides around you – and can help identify them for you.
As always, be sure that you’re working with a reputable psychic, and not someone who is simply after your money. If you don’t get an answer within a couple of sessions, then either (a) you don’t currently have a spirit guide, (b) you have one and it’s not ready to make itself known, or (c) you need to find a different psychic.
Remember, some people may not have a spirit guide, and some people have many of them working together or in turns.
If you do have a spirit guide, you may not find them available to you all the time. Often, they only appear when needed – after all, the purpose of a guide is to offer guidance. If you’re doing just fine, there’s a possibility that they’re off helping others who need it more than you do.
What is a Spirit Guide and the Four You Should Know?
Many people believe they have spirit guides. Some refer to theirs as angels or guardians. Regardless, if you believe you have one, a spirit guide is there simply to guide, not as an entity that you need to give yourself over to. If a spirit guide has a negative influence on your behavior, then chances are good that it’s not a spirit guide at all, but something else entirely.
These are some of the more commonly found types of spirit guides:
1. Ascended Masters
These are guides often found by people who do energy work, such as Reiki. An ascended master who appears as a spirit guide is often a being that led a physical life and has moved on to a higher spiritual plane — for example, Buddha, Krishna, even Jesus. Ascended masters usually work with collective groups of souls — in other words, if you’ve got an ascended master hanging around you, you’re not the only one he or she is helping. Their primary focus is that of helping all of humanity. It’s not uncommon for an ascended master to have access to Akashic records. Also referred to as Master Teacher guides.
2. Ancestral Guides
An ancestral guide is one who can claim some sort of kinship with you, such as your dear Aunt Tillie who died when you were ten. It may also appear in the form of a long-dead ancestor. In some schools of thought, these entities are seen as reincarnated guides, because they are the spirits of someone who loved us during their physical lifetime, or who had some sort of blood connection to our family.
Some people, depending on their religious upbringing, may see these types of guides as guardian angels.
3. Common Spirit Guide, or Teacher Guide
A typical spirit guide is archetypical, symbolic or representative of something else. For example, you may find your guide appears in the form of a warrior, a storyteller, or a wise woman, and they have appeared to you for a purpose.
Typically, that purpose is to teach you and guide you along a particular path. They may also introduce you to other archetypes along your journey, and help out with problem solving, based upon your needs. They are known to provide insight by way of dreams or meditation, and may only hang around as long as you need them, then move on.
4. Animal Guides
Although many people claim to have animals as spirit guides, often these entities are more companions than anything else. It’s not uncommon for a deceased pet to linger around, keeping you company through the grieving process. In some spiritual traditions, such as various Native American or shamanic paths, a person may have an animal totem, which provides teaching and/or protection.
Some people in the metaphysical community break down spirit guides by purpose, rather than their type. For instance, Amanda Meder, who works as a psychic medium, explains that in her practice, guides typically fall into one of these six categories: protectors, gate keepers, message bearers, healers, teachers, and guides that bring us joy.
In addition, many people believe that their spirit guides are angelic beings. This may or may not resonate with you, depending on whether you accept the existence of angels or not.
Some members of the Pagan community do, but angels aren’t typically found in every Pagan belief system.

And the Witches Digest for Wednesday, October 4th Continues….
Mars-Uranus early today is progressive. A Last Quarter Moon occurs shortly before midday, and asks us to consider our spiritual needs.
The Moon is in Pisces all day (until Wednesday, June 10th, at 7:13 AM).
The Moon is void from 2:08 PM forward (until tomorrow at 7:13 AM).
The Moon is waning and in its Waning Gibbous phase until 11:41 AM/ Third Quarter phase from 11:41 AM forward.
The Third Quarter Moon occurs at 11:41 AM in Pisces.
Mercury is retrograde. (Mercury is retrograde from May 18 to June 11 in the sign of Gemini).
Moon in Pisces
The Moon is traveling through Pisces today. You may feel disconnected. Serve others. Listen to music. Paint a picture. Daydream.
We are not inclined to want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It’s a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.
The Moon in Pisces generally favors the following activities: Imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.
The Sky This Week for October 4th to October 8th
Wednesday, October 4
The night sky’s most conspicuous harbinger of winter now rises in the east around midnight local daylight time. The constellation Orion the Hunter appears on its side as it rises, with ruddy Betelgeuse to the left of the three-star belt and blue-white Rigel to the belt’s right. As Orion climbs high in the south before dawn, the figure rotates so that Betelgeuse lies at the upper left and Rigel at the lower right of the constellation pattern.
Thursday, October 5
Full Moon occurs at 2:40 p.m. EDT, but our satellite will look completely illuminated all night. You can find it rising in the east shortly after sunset and peaking in the south around 1 a.m. local daylight time. The Moon skims along the border between Cetus the Whale and Pisces the Fish overnight. As the Full Moon closest to the autumnal equinox, which occurred September 22, this is also the Harvest Moon. In early autumn, the Full Moon rises about a half-hour later each night compared with a normal lag close to 50 minutes. The added early evening illumination supposedly helps farmers bringing in their crops.
Venus and Mars appear just 0.2° apart — about half the Full Moon’s diameter — before dawn. The two planets haven’t been this close since November 1995. If you view the pair through binoculars, you’ll also see the 4th-magnitude star Sigma (s) Leonis 0.3° north of Venus. Unfortunately, a telescope doesn’t add much to the scene. Venus measures 11″ across while Mars spans 4″, and both worlds appear nearly full.
Although Neptune reached opposition and peak visibility a month ago, it remains a worthwhile subject. The outermost major planet appears one-third of the way to the zenith in the southeastern sky after darkness falls and climbs highest in the south around 11 p.m. local daylight time. Neptune glows at magnitude 7.8, which is bright enough to spot through binoculars if you know where to look. The trick is to find 4th-magnitude Lambda (l) Aquarii, which lies about 10° southeast of Aquarius’ distinctive Water Jar asterism. This week, Neptune appears 0.6° southeast of the star. When viewed through a telescope, the planet shows a blue-gray disk measuring 2.3″ across. But the big event this evening involves Neptune’s large moon, Triton. Observers in the northeastern United States and eastern Canada can watch the satellite pass directly in front of a 12th-magnitude star. Viewers will see the star dim by 1.4 magnitudes for up to 161 seconds sometime between 7:44 and 8:00 p.m. EDT, depending on location.
It will return to view in the evening sky at the end of October.
I would like to thank you for your continued support and prayers as we try to cope with our loss. I know you might get tired of hearing about it and I apologize. Mystie, as you know by know, we grew up together and she and I were closer than my blood sister. It will take time but with your continued prayers we will get there.
The boys wanted me to thank you for continuing to help save them from the crazy witch with the fishing rod and rifle. Since everything happened and our grocery supply had been running low, we have been fishing and hunting for our food. They now run and hide every time I say, “let’s go, guys!” I can’t believe Mystie never taught these guys to hunt or fish. Of course, a person can only eat so much fish, squirrel and rabbit. One of them asked me the other day, if there wasn’t a store around here some where. I told them that took money and right now, we had to do the best we could. Thank the Goddess, my daddy thought I was a boy!
If you would like to help save the boys from the wild witch with the fishing pole and rifle, you still can. I know they would appreciate it.
Our heartfelt thank you’s go out to…

You can never realize what your love and support means to us when it seems our world has come to an end. Thank you is not enough, my friends.
Oh and Lady Beltane, I know you read all my posts here recently and I am getting your messages. It seems you always call when we are out in the woods trying to catch supper. Then if we do get lucky, we have to clean it and then cook it. That takes a couple of hours, so by that time the boys are gnawing on the nearest tree. We are doing good, it is just a major adjustment for me having kids underfoot. I hope you understand and thank you, sis. As soon as things calm down, I will call I promise.
Love ya,
A
Now give me a minute and I will get today’s info together. I received a new suggestions and am going to give it a try .
I got to thinking this morning, since the office is nice and quiet, except for Jacob & the killer Pomeranian being here, that perhaps you thought I was trying to pull some scam over on you. What do I mean by that, I have an office full of women who are assisting us in any way possible. Unfortunately, that could not be the furthest from the truth. There is no one here except for me. I put out today’s digest, no one else was around. I called them from out of state and told them to lock the doors on the place and go home. That was while we were out of state, when Mystie passed. I honestly believed that when I returned they wouldn’t like the person coming back. Right now it is a constant fight between the black witch I was and the witch I am now. The temptation grows every day. I told you once a black witch, a part of that stays with you. It waits for the right time to surface and with my life the way it has been, it is starting to surface. I can hear it whisper, “you wouldn’t have to beg people for money to feed the boys, you wouldn’t have to work about the lights or water being cut off, you can have it all. Just come back! It is eating at me. I am very angry at the world right now. I have lost someone very special to me and I am angry about it. I don’t want to be around people because I don’t want anyone to see me like this. Doing the daily digest takes my mind off of it for a bit.
I believe the only thing that is keeping me sane and from turning is Mystie’s son, Jacob. We walked in this morning and the first thing he wanted to know was which desk was his mother’s. I showed him and he stayed in her seat the biggest part of the time we were here. He would wander around but he always came back to her desk. Joseph came in for a bit and Jacob grabbed him and told him, “he wanted to show him where their mother had worked.” I watched them and it seemed like I could see Mystie’s spirit hovering around them. They seemed to have a moment of peace, which after so many tears was a relief. They deserve some peace and they deserve their lives to return to normal. Then that little voice in the back of my head came whispering out, “you could give them everything and more. Just come back!” Amazingly enough, I was face to face with Mystie’s spirit. She pointed her finger in my face and told me she knew exactly what I was thinking and added, “don’t you dare!” The boys are getting a rather fast lesson in the life I lead, they saw their mother in my face. Their reaction was mixed to say the least.
You ever have time when you wonder if all the work you have done over the years has meant anything? Those thoughts have run through my mind also. I have wondered if everything I have done over the years have meant a thing to anyone. Its amazing when you have time by yourself the things you can think of. Then I remembered the commitment to the Goddess I made many years ago. Perhaps I had a dark moment of the soul, who knows. But I remembered that and was snapped back to my seses and what really mattered. Raising and seeing what two young boys have what they need, keeping a roof over their head, keeping them fed, hanging on the WOTC for as long as possible and continue the work I started. I decided it might not mean anything to anyone else but it does me. Look around and see how many of these sites are left. See how many you can find.
I will ask one more time for your help in helping me fed my new family, providing them with a place to live and call home and just hang in there to Lord Myst can get back. I hope you understand now it is just me, two boys and a pooch. No one else around, just us. We need your help until I can get a job. Yes, I have started to look for work also. I don’t want to be a “bum” of a witch for the rest of my life.
Well I feel better, it’s all out in the open now and I will leave the rest up to you…..
The Moon is waxing and in its Waxing Gibbous phase.
The First Quarter Moon occurred on the 27th and the Full Moon will occur on October 5th.

The Sky This Week for October 3 to October 8
Tuesday, October 3
Saturn remains a tempting target in this week’s early evening sky. The ringed planet stands 20° above the southwestern horizon as darkness falls. Shining at magnitude 0.5, it appears significantly brighter than any of the background stars in its host constellation, Ophiuchus the Serpent-bearer. Of course, the best views of Saturn come through a telescope, which reveals a 16″-diameter globe surrounded by a spectacular ring system that spans 37″ and tilts 27° to our line of sight.

Hathor
The Egyptian Goddess
Areas of Influence: Hathor the Egyptian Goddess was a solar Deity who was linked to music, dance, joy, fertility and birth.
She was the personification of the Milky way which was viewed as the celestial waterway upon which both the Sun God Ra and the King sailed. This association also linked her to the flooding of the Nile and the breaking of the waters before birth.
Her role as a fertility Goddess is also high lighted by one of her titles “the gentle cow of Heaven” referring to her plentiful supply of milk which was used to nurse the Pharaoh, making him a Divine being.
After birth mothers were visited by the seven Hathors which determined the fate of their child.
In later times Hathor the Egyptian Goddess became identified with another cow Goddess Bata who in turn was connected to Ba, an aspect of the soul. This is how she came to be associated with the afterlife where she greeted the dead as they began their journey.
It was through the assimilation of Bata and her Sistrum rattle that this Goddess’s link to music and joy became enhanced. In fact there were more festivals dedicated to this Goddess than any other. Her temples were unusually served by Priests of both sexes, musicians and performers. They also housed midwives and dream interpreters.
Hathor the Egyptian Goddess also had a darker side, as the Eye of Ra, she took on the persona of the Goddess Sekhmet. In one myth at the request of her father, she turns into Sekhmet so she can to punish humans for transgressing against him. When she nearly wipes out all of humanity, Ra tries to stop her and eventually succeeds by getting her drunk. She instantly forgets about her task and goes back to being Hathor.
Origins and Genealogy: Daughter of Nut and Ra. In the early myths she is said to be the mother of Horus but this role is later usurped by Isis and she was reduced to being his protector.
Strengths: Joyful and fun loving.
Weaknesses: She does not know when to stop.
Hathor’s Symbolism
The sistrum rattle, the horns and sundisk headdress, the menat a ritual musical necklace and mirrors were all associated with this Goddess.
Hathor the Egyptian Goddess was a depicted as the winged cow of creation who gave birth to the universe. While there are some depictions of Hathor as a woman with a cow’s head, this is mainly found only in the later periods. She was also shown as a woman, falcon, hippopotamus, cobra, and a lioness.
Sacred Animals: Cow, hippopotamus, cobra and lioness.
Sacred Bird: Falcon.
Sacred Plants: Myrtle and sycamore trees.
Greek Equivalent: The Greeks identified her with Aphrodite.
Hathor’s Archetypes
The Mother:
The mother Archetype is a life-giver and the source of nurturing, devotion, patience and unconditional love. The ability to forgive and provide for her children and put them before her self is the essense of a good mother.
In its shadow aspect the mother can be devouring, abusive and abandoning. The shadow mother can also make her children feel guilty about becoming independent and leaving her.
Hathor the Egyptian Goddess is a mother figure because as a solar Deity she brings fertility to the land. This Goddess is also linked to the birth and nursing of infants.
The Lover:
Represents passion and selfless devotion to another person. It also extends to the things that make our hearts sing, like music art or nature.
The shadow aspect is obsessive passion that completely takes over and negatively impacts on your health and self esteem.
Hathor the Egyptian Goddess was associated with the joys of music and dance.
How To Work With These Archetypes
The Mother:
You can have this Archetype without being a biological mother. It represents an overwhelming desire to nurture and grow something and can therefore include projects, plants etc.
You are exhibiting the features of the shadow Mother if you smother your children and are over protective. Encourage independence and allow children to make mistakes but be available to give care and advice when it’s needed.
The other shadow Mother is the one that abandons her children, or is so busy that she has no time for nurturing her young.
The Lover:
You may be drawn to this stereotype if you are looking to attract a new lover or to re-ignite the fire in an existing relationship. The lover can also be a useful tool to discover what you are passionate about in life.
On the shadow side you need to ask, whether the amount of energy and time you are putting into relationships, or enthusiasm for projects is excessive? If this continues for too long you are likely to suffer from stress and physical ill health.

The ancient Romans called this day Martis, after the warrior god Mars – other deities associated with Tuesday include Ares, the Morrighan, and other gods of battle and glory. Red gemstones like rubies and garnets come into play on Tuesdays, as do herbs and plants such as thistles, holly, coneflowers and cacti – you’ll notice these are all sharp, prickly plants!
One of the interesting – and more than a little amusing – aspects of Tuesday magic is that in addition to war and conflict against your enemies, this is a day also associated with marriage. So, let’s add a little passion and conviction into your life! Break out the daring red pieces of your wardrobe, and put a little pizzazz into your day. Meditate onTiw/Tyr and Mars, and see what those ancient warrior gods will show you about new tactics, strategies, and claiming personal victories in your life. Practice conjuring up that astral weapon from the meditation and use it wisely for protection and for courage.
Create a philter for courage and protection or handcraft your own Witch’s jar to remove negativity from your home. See what other Witch crafts you can conjure up with Tuesday’s magick. Create some kitchen magick on this Tuesday by whipping up a spicy stew-add in a few Mars-associated ingredients such as carrots, peppers, and garlic. Empower the stew for success, and then treat yourself and your family to a good, hearty meal. Try working with a little aromatherapy and burn some spicy or coffee-scented candles to increase your energy level.

German Unity Day
Waxing Moon
Moon Phase: Second Quarter
Moon Sign: Pisces
Incense: Bayberry
Color: Red
The Waxing Moon
The Waxing Crescent Moon occurs 3 ½ to 7 days after the New Moon. She rises in the mid-morning and sets in the evening. The Moon’s light is quickening. As the Moon has dropped back until she is about ?th of the way behind the Sun, we see her lumination as a crescent shape.
You will see the first quarter Moon from 7 to 10 ½ days after the New Moon. She will rise around noon and set around midnight.
As the Moon is at a right angle to the Sun the difference between high and low tide is minimized. Because light and dark are in balance, the Moon will appear to be a Half Moon, but the area of light will continue to grow each day.
The Waxing Gibbous Moon occurs between 10 ½ and 14 days after the New Moon. She rises sometime in the mid-afternoon and sets in the early dark hours of the morning.
As the Moon has fallen back around ? of the way behind the Sun, one side of the Moon is seen fully and the light on the other side bulges out, but does not yet fill all of the Moon’s face.
Now your projects can get into their stride. Be aware, however, that overstrains are more likely at this time and that the body takes things in and absorbs them more readily with a Waxing Moon.
It is also a good time to build yourself up if you have been unwell or otherwise off-colour. Absorbing, boosting your energy and taking up supplies are crucial now. Go on an active holiday, get in touch with friends, plan a party, arrange meetings and increase communication.
As Full Moon approaches, notice what isn’t working and shed it in order to focus your energies more effectively. Remind yourself to slow down a little and conserve your strength. This is a time of regeneration and to gather information and resources.

Waxing Moon Spell for Purification
Items You Will Need:
Lemon
The lemon is ruled by the power of the Moon and works very well in this spell.
Use an unripe lemon if possible, then using dress-making pins(the ones with coloured heads work best). Stick the pins into the lemon. As you put each pin into the rind state out loud your intent, so you could put a pin in and ask for prosperity, the next one might be for happiness, the next for good health, etc….you get the idea. When you are done, place the lemon on your altar, or you could hang it above your front door to bring positive energy into your home.

Pagans and Death
For many modern Pagans, there is a somewhat different philosophy on death and dying than what is seen in the non-Pagan community. While our non-Pagans see death as an ending, some Pagans view it as a beginning of the next phase of our existence. Perhaps it is because we view the cycle of birth and life and death and rebirth as something magical and spiritual, a never ending, ever turning wheel. Rather than being disconnected from death and dying, we tend to acknowledge it as part of a sacred evolution.
In The Pagan Book of Living and Dying, author Starhawk says, “Imagine if we truly understood that decay is the matrix of fertility… we might view our own aging with less fear and distaste, and greet death with sadness, certainly, but without terror.”
As the Pagan population ages – and certainly, we are doing so – it’s becoming more and more likely that at some point each of us will have to bid farewell to a fellow Pagan, Heathen, Druid, or other member of our community. When that happens, what is the appropriate response? What can be done to honor the person’s beliefs and send them on their way in a way that they themselves would have valued, while still managing to maintain sensitivity in dealing with their non-Pagan family members and friends?
Views of the Afterlife
Many Pagans believe that there is some sort of afterlife, although that tends to take varying forms, depending on the individual belief system. Some followers of NeoWiccan paths accept the afterlife as the Summerland, which Wiccan author Scott Cunningham described as a place where the soul goes on to live forever. In Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner, he says, “This realm is neither in heaven nor the underworld. It simply is — a non-physical reality much less dense than ours. Some Wiccan traditions describe it as a land of eternal summer, with grassy fields and sweet flowing rivers, perhaps the Earth before the advent of humans. Others see it vaguely as a realm without forms, where energy swirls coexist with the greatest energies – the Goddess and God in their celestial identities.”
Members of non-Wiccan groups, particularly those who follow a more Reconstructionist slant, may see the afterlife as Valhalla or Fólkvangr, for those who adhere to a Norse belief system, or Tir na nOg, for individuals who participate in a Celtic path. Hellenic Pagans may see the afterlife as Hades.
For those Pagans who don’t have a defined name or description of the afterlife, there is still typically a notion that the spirit and the soul live on somewhere, even if we don’t know where it is or what to call it.
Tawsha is a Pagan in Indiana who follows an eclectic path. She says, “I don’t know what happens to us when we die, but I like the idea of the Summerland. It seems peaceful, a place where our souls can regenerate before they reincarnate into a new body. But my husband is a Druid, and his beliefs are different and focus more on the Celtic view of the afterlife, which seems a little more ethereal to me. I think it’s really all just different interpretations of the same place.”
Cultures have, since the beginning of time, honored deities associated with the process of dying, the act itself, and the journey of the spirit or soul into the afterlife. Although many of them are celebrated during the harvest season, around Samhain, when the earth itself is slowly dying, it is not uncommon to see them called upon as someone is approaching their last days, or has recently crossed over.
If you follow an Egyptian, or Kemetic, path, you may choose to honor Anubis, the jackal headed god of death. Anubis’ job is to determine whether the deceased is worthy of entering the underworld, by taking the individual’s measure. To help ease their passing, you may choose to sing or chant to Anubis about the dying or dead person’s accomplishments.
For Pagans who follow an Asatru or Heathen belief system, prayers and chants to Odin or to the goddesses Hel and Freya might be appropriate. Half of the warriors who die in battle go to spend the afterlife with Freya in her hall, Folkvangr, and the others go to Valhalla with Odin. Hel takes charge of those who have died from old age or sickness, and accompanies them to her hall, Éljúðnir.
A Maryland Heathen who asked to be identified as Wolfen says when his brother died, “We had this huge ceremony with a big bonfire, lots of drinking and toasts, and song. My brother had already been cremated, but we added his ashes to the fire, and we sang a song honoring him and his accomplishments, and introducing him to Odin and Valhalla, and then we continued it by calling upon our ancestors, going back about eight generations. It was what he wanted, and probably the closest thing to a Viking funeral that you can get in suburban America.”
Other deities you may wish to call upon as someone is dying, or has crossed over, include the Greek Demeter, Hecate, and Hades, or the Chinese Meng Po.
Funerary Rites
In many countries in the modern world, the practice of burying the dead is common. However, it’s a relatively new concept by some standards, and in some places, it’s almost a novelty. In fact, many of today’s contemporary funeral practices might be considered a bit strange by our ancestors.
In other societies, it is not uncommon to see the dead interred in trees, placed on giant funeral pyres, closed up in a ceremonial tomb, or even left out for the elements to consume.
One trend that is increasing in popularity in the Western world is that of “green burial,” in which the body is not embalmed, and is simply buried in the soil with no coffin, or with a biodegradable container. While not all areas permit this, it is something worth looking into for someone who truly wishes to be returned to earth as part of the cycle of life and death.
Choose four participants. One carries a rock, representing the earth, and stands to the North. One carries a feather, representing Air, and stands to the East. Another stands to the South, carrying a candle or some incense to represent Fire. A fourth can hold a cup of Water to the West — if you’re fortunate enough to hold your ritual near an ocean or river, use that to represent Water. On your altar, in the center of the circle, place a picture or some other memento of the person you are saying goodbye to.
Form a circle, and call upon the elements. Invite the powers of the four directions to come watch over you. Stand in the center and say:
Take me now, take me now
for to face the Summerlands*.
By the earth and wind and the fire and rain
I’m on my way,remember me.
Turn to the North and say:
Take me now back to the earth
from which we spring and then return.
I shall cross over, now it is my turn.
I am not afraid Remember me.
Repeat this verse, turning to each of the four directions. Substitute the different elements where appropriate.
Finally, touch each family member with your athame as you say the following:
Blood of my blood
Bone of my bone
Flesh of my flesh
Keep my soul alive
I will live on
Within your hearts
I am not afraid
Remember me
If you have ashes for the deceased, you may wish to scatter them at this time. Take a moment to reflect on the good memories you have of your departed friend or family member.
*If your particular tradition believes we go to some other place after death, feel free to substitute the appropriate place name for “Summerlands.” If you’re not sure where we end up, you can simply say “the other side.”
Celebrating Legends, Folklore & Other Spirituality 365 Days a Year for October 3rd
October 3
Feast of Dionysus
The Grecian God of wine and revelry was honored on this day in ancient Greece. The wine from the previous year was mixed with the new to celebrate the end of the harvest season–a time of rest for those who worked the fields.
Dionysus was the Greek God of vegetation, wine, and fertility. He brought civilization and viticulture to many countries and was widely worshiped, often with wild-ecstatic rituals and orgiastic dancing. Most of his festivals coincided with the harvest and Spring fertility rites.

Message for October 2017
I’m not sure if it’s just me, but, over recent years, I’ve become increasingly aware that the world is growing ever fuller of perfectionists. By this, I don’t mean people trying to live a better and more enriching life or trying to find new ways to live spiritually, I mean a collection of souls presenting themselves as the ‘complete package’: already living the perfected life. I’ve seen this a lot in the ‘new age’ arena where spiritual perfectionism seems prolific. Perhaps this is simply my bewildered reflection on the growing need or perception to present oneself as whole, complete and perfect as that is somehow what’s expected; anything less isn’t acceptable. It worries me as it’s an airbrushed reality, and it presents a false pedestal for others to look towards as we try to sort out our issues to find happiness or peace. Of course, we will all always strive to improve, but that is a fundamental part of being human. Being honest with ourselves is the real key to spiritual growth as it shows a willingness to be real, authentic, vulnerable and true.
At the end of the day, everyone has a choice, and being a perfectionist is no different. I guess it just worries me as it’s possibly not a healthy advert for the rest of us who are doing our best to sort ourselves out and make sense of this thing called life. It’s not the perfectionists who need to change, after all, that is their choice and their path to walk in life, and I am the last person to suggest how someone else should, or should not, live their lives. It’s those of us who have, at some point, wanted to do the same in an attempt to make our lives better that perhaps need to shift our perspectives. We need to realise that it’s perfectly wonderful to be imperfect, flawed, broken and damaged as it’s our acknowledgement of our wounds that allow us to heal, grow, flourish and thrive. Once we realise that a perceived state of perfectionism doesn’t equate to happiness, then it’s power diminishes and we begin to see the true values in life.
I have days when I look out into the world and feel ‘less than’ because I’m not presenting a shiny badge that reads ‘everything is wonderful in my little world’. I’m a spiritual being, a human being and I love just being me, but I’m also flawed and broken at the same time. Yet, I don’t let the latter define me, it’s just a part of my reality. To deny my broken-ness would be like denying the happiness or the days turning into night; every part of me is just as valid as everything else and I’m happy acknowledging this. I spent a great deal of my life trying to get life right and trying to present a façade of perfectionist glory, and it didn’t work as I ended up more lost, alone and broken than ever.
We are no doubt in troubling times, and the need to walk in unity grows ever stronger. Yet aspiring to be what we are not surely only feeds the divide? Surely unity comes from opening up our hearts and souls to truth? If we can acknowledge our own cracks, dents and pain, this helps us to see the pain within others? At the same time, a willingness to be open allows us to step beyond judgement into compassion. Compassion is the true healer and that is the force that binds us together. Walking through life, reaching out to others, being open and wholehearted, matters now, as we can see, first hand, the damage the façades can do.
When we choose to breathe out and allow others to breathe in, we grow in synchronistic harmony with the world. Surely life isn’t truly about one-upmanship or trying to feel better or superior to everyone else? Surely this is why we can see so many fractures and divides? It now seems time to openly acknowledge our cracks, dent and bumps as we are all ‘seared with scars’ (K Gibran). It’s time to love and be loved, to be authentic and vulnerable, to let go and let be, and to be free…
With love,
Sarah-Jane

♈
There are days when you are in ‘doing mode’ and there are days when you are floating in ‘being mode’ but there are also days where you are lodged somewhere in between the two. These are the days where you are neither doing nor being, and you can feel a little lost as you feel rudderless and without direction, but unable to rest in ‘being-ness’. There have been quite a few such days recently as you have struggled to regain the momentum to push forward with your plans and ideas, at the same time, you have felt unable to find an inner sense of equilibrium. It’s not that you’re lacking in ideas and plans because you have loads, it’s more a deep inertia of self-questioning and self-doubting that has trapped you in-between here and there. Yet, how can you shift gears? How can you move between here and there? After all, ‘here’ is the present moment and how can you be anywhere but the present moment?
It can be hard to know if you should push more towards doing to get things done or more towards being as you sense a need for self-reflection and spiritual contemplation. Maybe it’s time to think outside of the box and consider the idea of being multi-directional? You don’t have to just do or be, you can oscillate between the two by having a more focused approach to taking time out. Perhaps this is really at the core of your discombobulation: a need to establish a greater sense of equilibrium in your life? Try not to overthink this, feel it within your heart and soul, then breathe deeply into life allowing life to breathe deeply into you…
Taurus
♉
As you continue to contemplate the concept of the ‘real you’, there is a sense you are beginning to see the ways in which you have tried hard to fit into the box labelled ‘normal’ in life. You have wanted to go with the flow and do what’s expected of you as this has seemed like the most logical approach to living life well. However, you are not just your mind; and it seems your heart and soul are not overly content with ‘normal’. In truth, this is something you already know, it’s just easier at times to brush it under the carpet as it makes for an easier, and often quieter, life. Yet, can you truly ignore or deny your heart and soul? After all, they are fundamental parts of you.
Life is rarely easy, straightforward or black and white, and whilst you have an innate ability to navigate the best path possible, there is a part of you that wonders what the cost of such a strategy is. A deep sense of wonder and puzzlement stirring within you and this inner force is passionate about you re-connecting to your heart and soul in order to live a more connected and enriching life. October looks set to be a time for you to explore what you truly want as you are no longer content to walk the treadmill day in, day out. Whilst the treadmill has merits and can bring some stability, intuitively you long for more. This isn’t necessarily about turning your whole world upside down on its head, it’s about allowing your true essence to flow freely…
Gemini
♊
October looks set to be a month of consolidation and inner unification as you continue to re-shape and re-define your sense of self as well as your purpose in life. Although you are a very open-minded and intuitive soul, you can sometimes struggle to see beyond the black and white boundaries of everyday life as they can become prison walls, entrapping you in the ideals, expectations and demands of society as well as in your own perceptions, pre-conceived ideas and beliefs. As a result, you can sometimes find it hard to connect to the ‘real you’ as you can feel lost in the distractions of life and lose sight of the signposts you would usually use to navigate the everyday ups and downs.
Obviously, you are a very fluid soul so you can find this all very disconcerting, yet, at the same time, the unknowable fluidity of the situations you often find yourself in also feel exciting and liberating, so you can find yourself in a kind of personal inner tug-o-war between wanting firmer foundations and not. No one ever said it was easy being you! It would be easy to see how frustrating and confusing this can feel, but try to look beyond your perceptions of how life is supposed to be and instead re-focus on how life is. Be present in the here and now and you will soon realise that you are not trapped behind prison walls, you have simply created the idea of them to process the challenges you have faced in life. They exist only because you’ve allowed them into being. Take a breath, let them go and find joy in each and every moment…
Cancer
♋
There is a big difference between living life to the full and living a full life. There is also a big difference between being you and in being the you, you feel you ought to be. The divide between distractions, ought’s and musts is a big one as the chasm created between enrichment, fulfilment and destiny only grows with the passing of time. It’s easy to scoff and scorn the idea of living an enriching, fulfilling life and striding forth towards your destiny as it may sound more like a fairy-tale than a reality, but should that stop you from trying? Is it better to live life in the way you feel you ought to as that feels more real? Just because some of your dreams feel whimsical and like a fairy-tale, does this mean they’re irrelevant or wrong?
Will such a strategy lead to success? It may well do, but is success measured by fulfilment or enrichment? Success is just success, and whilst it may oil the wheels of life to help them turn a little easier, unless you feel that warm fuzzy feeling within, how can you ever truly know what success means to you? Is success a stand-alone goal where everything else drops perfectly into place as a result or is it actually the other way around? In essence, October looks set to be a time for you to start the process of up-ending some of your belief constructs in order to take a deeper look at how you are living your life. Some of these questions need answers, others have already been answered. You’re ready now to walk a new path…

Despite the seemingly constant stream of things to do, people to see and places to go, there also seems to be a longing for some respite and stillness: some time for reflection, contemplation and restoring some balance. There is a growing sense of anticipation and excitement in the air as you can sense a powerful shift that has its roots deep at the core of your being; you no longer seem content to go with the flow and feel drawn to establish more well-defined boundaries when it comes to the ways in which you live your life. You have always been accommodating of the needs, wishes and demands of others, whilst you are certainly no push-over, you perhaps do allow yourself to be stretched a little too far beyond what you deem to be acceptable, but your desire to help or appease others is often stronger than your will to please yourself.
Whilst this is an admirable trait, there comes a point when you simply cannot sustain such a strategy as it depletes you, and frequently denies you of the opportunity to live in a more enriching way. Of course, this isn’t to say you’re not enriched now, there’s just a sense the equation of your life is out of balance as more goes out than comes in. This can only lead to a deficit and whilst you, more than most, can carry a shortfall of energy, it gets harder to do over time as your sense of self becomes lost in the everyday throng of life. It’s time to realise that being a master of doing isn’t the same as happiness; you can thrive if only you’d let your true essence shine…
Virgo
♍
October looks set to be a month where your head and heart come together in an imaginative new way as you begin to see your life, and your path, from a very different perspective. There is a sense that you are beginning to step beyond the boundaries you have created in your life, developed from years of using the mantra: ‘ought, must and should’, and you have started to realise just how much you have shaped and defined your life with the hopes and expectations of others. At the same time, you have also had a strong idea as to what life should be about, and this has been so powerful, it has overshadowed your sense of what you intuitively feel life is really about. As a result, there have been times of your life when you have felt at a tangent with yourself; at odds with your head and your heart.
During such times, it has been easy to feel discombobulated and disenchanted with the life you find yourself living as you just can’t keep that inner voice silent and the gap between where you are and where you sense you need to be cannot be glossed over. Of course, life often has other ideas when it comes to following your dreams and living your vision, but is it not important to at least explore the possibility? There is no right or wrong choice here, but making a choice is key as it’s the act of choosing that suggests you have considered the options and made a conscious decision as to how to move forward. Take a deep breath, believe in yourself and step beyond the ordinary…
Libra
♎
The concept of embracing your true nature continues to take centre stage throughout October as you begin to contemplate what this actually means for you and your life. The idea of ‘embracing your true nature’ sounds big, bold and courageous, but it only becomes these during the act of actually embracing your true nature, as thinking about it, and rolling the concept around in your head, isn’t quite the same. It’s not that you are lacking in the ability to be big, bold or courageous, as you are almost every day, it’s just that you somehow seem to doubt this about yourself and so hold back, hovering on the side lines as you feel you simply cannot take a leap and be yourself. Are you afraid of being you or are you concerned about the ripples of change such a leap may create?
It’s not in your nature to take such decisions lightly, so you will be thinking of every possible outcome and statistical probability before you act, but whilst this is wise, it can also cause a kind of energetic paralysis as there are never any guaranteed outcomes and, at the same time, the possibilities keep changing as life is fluid and moveable. It’s understandable to want to know ‘what’s next’ before leaping towards something new but it’s not always possible to know the answer to such a question. Sometimes, it can only be an act of faith and trust, allowing your intuition to lead the way. The time has come for you to truly believe in yourself and to honour your true nature by listening to your intuition. Be big, be bold and love yourself for it…
Scorpio
♏
As you continue to explore the unchartered terrain of your heart and soul, there is a growing sense of excitement rippling up from deep within as, in many ways, you feel as though you are finally ‘home’. This isn’t about being in a physical place but being centred and contented living in the wild and mysterious world within; it’s a maelstrom, but it’s you. You have fought the wildness for years as it has felt rebellious and awkward to manage in the everyday pedestrian-ness of life. Yet, you have never been able to squash the wildness as your inner sprite has never stopped dancing. Of course, this has, at times, left you feeling like a fish out of water as you have struggled to fit your wild and unpredictable shaped peg into the square shaped hole called ‘normal’.
Although you have tried to conform to the ideal of normal just to get along in life, it has never sat well with you. To you, normal is like a pair of ill-fitting slippers; you’ll wear them to keep your feet warm but they just aren’t you. October looks set to be a month where you begin to explore some new footwear and consider new ways to dance more freely in life. Whilst you are unlikely to want to completely upend the apple cart of your life, there is a sense that change is needed now as you have become stuck in a rut and your wild energies have grown a little stagnant and stale. Your wild sprite wants to dance and only you can give him/her the power to do so; dancing free doesn’t have to mean chaos, it simply means a willingness to let your heart and soul breathe more freely in life…
Sagittarius
♐
As you stand and gaze in awe and wonder at the plethora of opportunities, options and pathways before you, there is a sense of you feeling both excited and overwhelmed as there is just so much choice! You are world-class at collecting possibilities as you thrive on having options; you wither at the thought of restriction and you wilt at the sight of closed doors, you need possibilities as they bring you a sense of space and expansion. Of course, having possibilities isn’t quite the same as actually exploring those possibilities, and it seems you have reached a time of sorting through at least some of those possibilities in order to either embrace them or set them free. Over time you have become a little cluttered with opportunity after opportunity being kept on the shelf ‘just in case’.
In many ways, you are a ‘just in case’ kind of person as you don’t like to disregard an opportunity just in case you need to tap into it again further down the line. Obviously, such a strategy is understandable, but it leaves you with a mountain of possibilities that you have to carry around with you and these weigh you down and stifle your flow considerably. Surely there comes a time when the burden of these (however exciting or enticing they may be) becomes more than the possibility that they may be useful in the future? Surely by holding on to them you are closing the door on new possibilities as even you can only carry so much at any one time? Set yourself free, lighten the load and be ready to welcome something new…
Capricorn
♑
Whilst the inherent randomness of life continues to perplex, bemuse and frustrate you, there is a growing sense you are beginning to shift into a space of acceptance as you let go of resistance and embrace a more open-hearted approach to living more fluidly. Of course, deep down, you are still irked by change, but, by accepting it’s a part of life, it somehow becomes easier to ride the waves as you feel less of a victim but more of a willing participant in life. Perhaps this distinction is only small, but it seems significant enough to be important, as it’s a sign you are adopting a more open-hearted approach to living and being. At the same time, there is a sense you are beginning to think about your path ahead and this process is triggering a great deal of inner reflection as you contemplate the life you have lived, the life you are living and the life you would like to be living in the future.
Of course, there are no guarantees as to what lies around each corner in life but it’s important to have a sense of direction – somewhat ironic given your recent acceptance of the inherent randomness of life – but even in chaos, order can be found. Accepting change and randomness doesn’t mean throwing your hands up in the air and drifting along aimlessly with the currents of life, it means a willingness to move with the changing currents of life. Having a sense of direction and purpose enables you to shape and define your life with every step you take. Whilst you cannot be sure of the final destination, you can make the most of the journey and live the best life you can possibly live…
Aquarius
♒
Reaching a point of realisation where suddenly everything makes sense but doesn’t at the same time, is not a situation many could comprehend as it feels slightly too brain bending and mind boggling to consider. Yet, here you find yourself in the space in-between here and there: the space where all of the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle of your life have come together but you no longer recognise the picture. It’s as though you’ve shifted your perspective in such a profound way, you are finding it hard to process the everyday pedestrian nature of life, yet, at the same time, without this to anchor you in the present, your existential ponderings make even less sense than usual. Although, on the surface, this would appear to be a challenging situation to be in, you seem to be thriving!
Of course, there really isn’t anyone else quite like you, so it’s perfectly plausible for you to thrive where others would flounder as you grow exponentially when pushed beyond your comfort zone and you flourish when in unchartered terrain. This doesn’t mean you always like living on the edge, but maintaining the status quo to keep on keeping on leaves you flat, depleted and hollow. However, despite the expansive nature of this shift, there is still a part of you unsure quite what to do next as you seem slightly unsure if you should just go with the flow of thriving or if you should be questioning exactly why you are thriving in seemingly less than rosy conditions. Stop over-analysing this! Why not allow it and simply thrive? This is your time to celebrate the perfectly incomprehensible but perfectly wonderful nature of being you…
Pisces
♓
To do or not to do. To explore or not to explore. To…well, this could go on for quite some time. You’re in a state of uncertainty and hesitation, almost a state of ‘anti-flow’, it’s as though your usually fluid, free-flowing nature is being held back by an unwillingness to stop clinging on to the rock you’ve been sitting on for quite some time. It’s a very pleasant rock; it’s comfortable and just about the right size, but it’s become more of a place of refuge for you and, over time, you have started to see the rock more as home. Whilst you could quite happily live on this little rock that’s floating about somewhere in space and time, it was only ever meant to be a temporary rest-stop on your journey between here and there, but it’s become more than that as you have clung on and resisted the urge to go with the flow.
Yet, flowing is what you do, as you are a fluid, liquefied, molten soul and your little rock represents the opposite. It’s therefore important for you to ask yourself why you are so fond of your rock: is it because it feels safe? Is it because it’s familiar to you or is it because you’re simply too weary of going with the flow? These are actually very big questions to consider, so take your time to answer them with an open heart and mind. It could be that it’s hard to see beyond the edges of the rock and, with no clear pathway in sight, it just seems easier to stay put. Go beyond what you see, to feel your way ahead now; trust your intuition and let it lead the way…
The Karmic Tools Weekly Forecast covers the current planetary transits which affect people in different ways and to various degrees of intensity.
Weekly Forecast: October 1 – 7, 2017
10/1 ~ Mars (energy) ~trine~ Pluto (transformation):
This is an active, transformative energy that will help you to change your life in a healthy, positive way. You may have the energy & inclination to make major personal (and permanent) changes to who you are and what you want on a deep Soul level. Because it’s a Trine, it promises more ease than is usually associated with Pluto, and in this case, makes transformation smoother. You may be especially focused on what needs to be done or changed in your life at this time. You will want to take action and the Universe supports that decision, as long as it is righteous and not totally self-serving. This is a good time to get moving, take action regarding your long-term goals – and you will be able to create momentum. You may realize some of your recent actions or choices do not necessarily support your deepest drives or desires. As you get in alignment within & without, the results can be miraculous. Be creative ~ be brave!
Anytime Pluto’s involved the intensity levels go up and you are able to hear/feel your SoulSelf more clearly than usual. Venus brings up that which is most important to you personally, your individual values & priorities, where your relationships & resources are concerned. This is an easy angle, making purification & transformation smoother than usual too. So, what are you ready to change? How have your values & priorities changed completely in the last year or so? Use this activation to deepen your connection with those you love most and allow the relationship to evolve to a totally new level. If you’re working on your relationship with money or self-worth specifically, this activation is a good time for prayer or ritual that supports positive change and your vision for the future. Pour any intense emotions or revelations into art of any medium or do a vision board, but give expression to the depths you recognize as coming to the surface of your consciousness.
10/5 ~ Venus (love & beauty) ~conjunct~ Mars (passion):
This is our primary feminine (Venus) and masculine (Mars) energies merging in a potent way, arousing a need to cultivate powerful relationship (whether physical/sexual or relating/socializing with others). There is a strong need for approval (on one level) and affection (on another level) from others and if you are not interacting with human beings on some level, this energy can also activate your artist nature (Venus). This is the perfect time to create something (project or relationship) that is seeded by a deep, authentic love.

So, you decided to be more laid back about a relationship, and tried not to pin someone down to this or that. In fact, you were happy to sit it out and let things evolve at their own pace. But with the full moon in your sign this week, exciting thoughts arise about how you have to throw yourself into the deep end and who cares about conventional approaches? Time to take a risk and see how liberating it can be.
TAURUS
At last you’re beginning to see how to animate your relationship to include both the security you cherish, and the excitement you desire. Time to admit to yourself that you need some adventure in your love life. This week, you feel as if you are finally in tune with your senses, and that you’re also coming to them too, at last.
GEMINI
It’s time to show your partner that you’re alive and very much kicking and it’s time to love with passion and live with intention. If single, look forward to some big changes coming your way, especially if you move out of your comfort zone and embrace the different. It will change your life for the better.
CANCER
This week you will have silly thoughts like, ‘ does he/she really deserve me?” or, will they tire of me soon?” Now these are all responses generated by an unconscious fear that you will be rejected, or perhaps you’re not good enough to be loved. But very soon, you’ll learn that love isn’t about ‘who’s good enough,’ it’s more about who’s willing to love without conditions.
LEO
We all have emotional ‘baggage.’ And we all try to dump it, fearful that it’s lingering presence in our hallways means we can’t move forward. But it’s not so much that we’re stuck with what we had, it is the very attachment to the baggage which causes most trouble. This week, you learn to step over the bags in the hall and move out into the big wide world.
VIRGO
With Venus and Mars stirring your heartstrings, at last you can look in the mirror and smile at yourself and know you are loved. Forget the difficult encounters of the past, it’s your new found heat which will be the catalyst for revitalised passion.
LIBRA
We all like to believe that one day, if we really truly believe something is right for us, it will happen. And this week, you’re beginning to see that it really could. So smile at yourself, admire who you are and why you are who you are. Repeat aloud that you deserve love, just by virtue of being on this planet earth.
SCORPIO
It seems at last you have more passion for everything that matters to you. Romantic missions become less impossible and suddenly the world seems a better place. Rather than become a victim of so-called fate, you have a chance to take control of your life, so make a choice.
SAGITTARIUS
It’s time to go with the flow and discover a more romantic you. It might seem that the fulfilment you seek is a long way off, however confident you feel about your love life, but in the weeks to come, you will find the journey gets easier, and your heart is on the right track for success.
CAPRICORN
Slowly, you’re wishing for passion again. Sometimes you need to be surrounded by the social throng to feel alive. It’s all about to get better, and soon you will be able to enjoy more romance and less grief.
AQUARIUS
This week, you need more independence and feel it’s time to personally evolve. Now that things have become clearer, romance can grow again. It may actually be that a ‘forever after commitment’ is what you secretly want, and it may just be that’s what you’re going to get over the next few months.
PISCES
While ideal love is unconditional, most ordinary love is conditional – in other words we establish rules about what we accept and need from others. And this week, it’s time to chose carefully, and hopefully opt for the love which allows both of you some space. This isn’t about seeing love as an idealised happy-ever-after ending, but one where you can give of yourself truly to someone, and get back what you truly long for.

New insights and understanding — of your own needs or a situation — can increase your motivation to solve problems. An exciting purchase, a new method or procedure, a gift or bonus — these are possibilities now. You might earn some praise or admiration for your creative talents, and a financial boost is possible. Excitement builds about growing or polishing up a venture. This is a time for developing and encouraging a sense of purpose by setting goals and drawing up plans to meet them. Today is about attaching yourself to those people and projects that/who enhance your life, and your vision of what’s truly valuable is 20/20 today.
Virgo
Virgo
Today and this week, you’re in a good position to pour energy and love into a relationship, romantic pursuit, or creative project, dear Virgo. Venus in your sign connects well with Pluto today, and your passionate involvement with whatever you’re doing now, as well as the strength with which you carry yourself now, is attracting nice attention. A creative pursuit can capture your interest, and you can be passionately involved with taking it to a new level. This can happen with a relationship, as well (or instead)! You might enjoy learning more about — or gaining insight into — a person or project, feeling enthusiasm and motivation. Your ability to focus is excellent. This is a fabulous time to make a good impression just by being yourself.
Libra
Libra
There is incredible energy with you today for exploring or investing a matter more thoroughly, dear Libra. You may be playing detective today with nice results! You might also discover deeper feelings and desires through the events of the day. Certainly, you’re open to exploring them. It can be a time for a better understanding of something or someone, mainly related to the past and your family or childhood. Good energy is with you for eliminating or weeding efforts with your ruler, Venus, working in harmony with transformational Pluto. This can include getting rid of unnecessary material things but can extend to a commitment to lose a bad habit or attitude. Observation skills are strong now, and it’s a safe bet that if your instincts are to keep something quiet for the time being, it’s a good idea to do so. Money matters can improve, or you might take steps that put you in a better financial position. Supporting someone or gaining some support for yourself can figure strongly now for some of you.
Scorpio
Scorpio
A boost in your social life or with your projects and interests can happen now, dear Scorpio. Your ruler, Pluto, a long-term guest in your communications sector, harmonizes with lovely Venus, who is now gracing your social sector. It’s a perfect time for persuasion, connection, and motivation. Make connections now if others don’t find you first! Today and the next two days are excellent for discovering people and projects you love or for moving a relationship or endeavor to a new level. Good energy is with you for getting close (or closer) to someone. This is a time for drawing people and things to you, and a good part of your appeal at the moment lies in your ideas, communication style, and unique insight. You’re also in great shape with current friends or a partner – bonding happens through greater understanding now. Willingness to look below the surface is attractive. Promotional and networking or marketing efforts can be particularly fruitful, as well.
Sagittarius
Sagittarius
This is an excellent time for pouring extra love and energy into a business, endeavor, project, or making money, dear Sagittarius. Venus at the top of your solar chart attracts you good favor in professional or public settings, as well as with superiors or those in authority. Today, it harmonizes with Pluto in your resources sector, boosting your ability to see a situation, item, or person for its value, and you’re ready to take it to a new level. Financial and business planning are favored now, and you may thoroughly enjoy taking steps towards fulfilling a dream or goal. Matters that mean the most to you are clear now, and this boosts your powers to concentrate. Your special way with people helps you connect with people who help you advance your goals. Reinventing an existing or old project can figure strongly now. You love what you’re doing, and it shows! People want you to succeed.
Capricorn
Capricorn
A Venus-Pluto trine today is quite excellent for your personal influence, dear Capricorn. You’re in great shape for persuading and connecting with others in meaningful, beneficial ways. The attention you’re receiving now is more about your personality and perspective than it is about your work or performance. This can be a fabulous time to guide, teach, share, or lead others with your knowledge or expertise. However, this can also be a more informal situation where you’re coming through for others or engaging in especially pleasant dialogue. For some of you, a new channel for communicating or expressing yourself opens up, or you use channels already in place in more efficient ways. It’s a good time for publishing, sharing, and promoting. For best results, reach out beyond your normal bounds and enjoy new ways of thinking or different perspectives.
Aquarius
Aquarius
This is an excellent time to put more energy and love into your private life, an intimate relationship, research, or investigation, dear Aquarius. Venus in your intimacy sector makes sweet music with Pluto in your privacy zone, energizing and boosting your inner world, emotional life, and perceptions. There are benefits to digging a little more deeply into a matter now. It’s also a powerful time for observation as you stand to gain meaningful insights into a person, situation — or your own desires. Private conversations, understanding, and connections are fortunate now. You might choose this time to share an emotional burden or to work on healing efforts. You can have much success sorting out feelings and emotions now. You might have an ace up your sleeve, and it’s a good idea to hold onto it until you truly need it! For some, there can be magnetic attractions experienced that are unexpected and intense. It’s a good time to commit to putting a bad habit or draining/toxic situation behind you.
Pisces

This energy keeps you moving forward, slowly but surely, with an end goal in mind. You’re in good shape for taking a relationship, whether it’s a friendship or partnership, to a new level, and while this can range anywhere from subtle to dramatic, it feels good to know that others have your back. It can also be a successful time for quitting a bad habit, especially with support. The key is to include someone you trust in your plans. Brainstorming and collaboration are highly favored now. Your emotional engagement and passion are appreciated — and attractive! Some of you could be working towards a cherished goal or important cause with increased motivation and confidence. Contributions to and from a group can be excellent now, and networking efforts have rich rewards. The Moon spends the day in your sign and life seems a little more colorful as a result!
If You Were Born Today, October 3
Others are drawn to your lighthearted, essentially happy and hopeful personality. However, you’re not without an “edge”, and when you want something, you have tremendous stamina to draw upon. Your relationships are extremely important to you, and you can be impulsive in love, following your heart rather than pure logic. You crave security and stability, however, and your family and home life are vital to your sense of peace and happiness. Get A Jump on Tomorrow….
Your Daily Horoscopes for Tuesday, October 4th
Aries
Aries
You’re in good shape for concentrating and focusing on details and work this morning, Aries. In fact, you can feel pleasantly committed to a task now, and you take naturally to solving problems or making plans. This can also be a time for dedicating yourself to a health program. Ideas are useful for pursuing a particular goal, and conversations can readily turn to planning and strategy. Later today, it’s better to take a pause. You may have a feeling that you’ve missed something or you could feel vaguely restless or uncertain — especially prominent in your interactions with others. This may be due to a recent neglect of a need for more rest, replenishment of spirit, and spirituality. We’re building to excitement — a Full Moon in your sign as well as a Venus-Mars conjunction, both exact tomorrow, and a break is appropriate now.
Taurus
Taurus
In the first half of the day, you’re in great shape for tackling a work or health problem, dear Taurus. Your dedication and motivation are exemplary now. It’s an excellent time for attention to detail. However, as the day advances, uncertainty is possible in these very areas. This is temporary and a cue to take a break. If you feel overworked or underappreciated, take care of your own affairs or put them on hold until you feel the pleasure of certainty return. This, in fact, is likely to happen as early as tomorrow morning. We’re moving to a Full Moon, exact midday tomorrow, and emotions are building. Your intuition has strong messages for you with this lunation.
Gemini
Gemini
The first half of the day is excellent for focus and concentration, dear Gemini. You can feel pleasantly committed to a person, hobby, or creative pursuit now. Time to yourself spent on expressive or leisure activities can feel soothing and healing. You’re also expressing yourself with more authority and personal presence now. While we’re winding up to a Full Moon and a Venus-Mars alignment, exact tomorrow, tonight can require some winding down. Some confusion about your larger goals can interfere with the enjoyment of the moment. Hunches can be a little difficult to trust later today, making it wiser to remain on the fence until your head clears. Tomorrow’s Full Moon can help reveal things for you, so wait it out.
Cancer
Cancer
This can be a good time for concentrating on family or a practical project, dear Cancer. These are great stress relievers now! Focusing on thing and one step at a time serves you well in the first half of the day. Working from — or on — the home can be successful. As well, you’re in good shape for making plans related to home and family matters. However, as the day advances, you may feel the need to regroup as restlessness or uncertainty are likely, especially if you’ve been ignoring your needs for fantasy, imagination, and adventure in your life. It’s best not to make waves just for now as we prep for a Full Moon that will occur tomorrow and confidence may take a brief dip.
Leo
Leo
Mental focus comes readily in the first half of the day, Leo, and you can feel pleasantly devoted to your current tasks and interests. As well, people are taking you seriously and seeking you out for advice and answers. A commitment might be made to a new project, or you might help out a relative or acquaintance. Plans are easy to map out, and you feel organized. Even so, enthusiasm may take a dip later today, but this is temporary. As well, it’s likely a signal that you need to regroup and rest –or take a break from overthinking. Part of you just wants to get the job done, but another part is seeking out more depth and meaning. Tomorrow’s Full Moon and Venus-Mars alignment are sure to get you going again.
Virgo
Virgo
Mental discipline doesn’t always come easily with so many balls in the air these days, dear Virgo, but the first half of today favors it. You can feel particularly motivated to get money matters or business on track. This can also be a good time to put in the extra effort to build a talent or business. As the day advances, however, it’s time to decompress and regroup as the Sun and Neptune form an awkward angle, which serves to remind you of what you may have been missing. A partner’s behavior may serve to baffle you, or you can be craving a better connection with someone who might help you make some decisions and choices. As it stands, you may feel a little out of sync for the time being. It’s best to put overthinking on hold tonight. A Full Moon occurring tomorrow will bring more clarity. Even if it’s exaggerated initially, you’ll soon see the bigger picture about a matter.
Libra
Libra
The first half of the day is best approached logically, dear Libra, as Mercury and Vesta come to an alignment in your sign and pull your attention to those things that matter most to you. It’s a good time for working a little harder, feeling a stronger sense of commitment and purpose, and making detailed plans and schedules. Reserving time for yourself or your personal projects and initiatives makes sense now. As the day advances, however, the Sun in your sign forms an awkward angle to Neptune, and until you recognize the need to slow down and consider your need to check in with your intuition, you may feel a little off-center. There could be a feeling of being undervalued or even undercut, but this is temporary. A brief lull can serve to slow you down long enough to explore alternate routes and to make necessary adjustments.
Scorpio
Scorpio
You’re in an excellent position for independent or behind-the-scenes work in the first half of the day, Scorpio, and you can feel mentally clear and focused. You might engage in a conversation with someone about the past or private matters, and this can be healing, or you simply give more thought to an issue that requires some wrapping up or the tying of loose ends. As the day advances, however, you might wrestle with some restlessness until you acknowledge the need to check in with your intuition. All of a sudden, you may not feel as clear about your next step or on how to wrap something up. This is temporary and a signal to slow down. In fact, with a Full Moon occurring tomorrow, you’d do well to wind down and regroup tonight.
Sagittarius
Sagittarius
In the first half of the day, you may find it easy and natural to commit to a goal, cause, or venture, dear Sagittarius. You tend to narrow your focus in a good way as you focus on important details. You’ll find it particularly healing and soothing to focus on cherished dreams or hopes, friends, or networking now. As the day advances, you may be questioning the very things you felt confident or sure about in the morning. This is temporary, however. Misunderstandings could leave you feeling a bit insecure, but slowing down is useful now. Regroup and relax for best results tonight. A Full Moon and Venus-Mars alignment occur tomorrow, revving things up. They’ll also bring more clarity and courage.
Capricorn
Capricorn
An alignment at the top of your solar chart this morning increases your commitment to a responsibility, your performance, or a long-term goal, Capricorn. With a clear goal in mind, you can be uniquely focused and ambitious in the first half of the day. Tuning out distractions comes easily, and you tend to communicate with more conviction and authority. As the day advances, however, you could be doubting a thing or two. This feels a bit chaotic, but in truth, you’re in need of a checkpoint now, particularly if you’ve been neglecting your need to feed your imagination. Feeling overwhelmed is temporary. Take time to recollect yourself. Treat tonight as an opportunity to slow down and find yourself again.
Aquarius
Aquarius
The energies of the morning help you concentrate on details and focus your attention, dear Aquarius. This is a very good time to commit to self-improvement activities and better attention to your studies or mind expansion and learning. While you’re sure to enjoy this certainty and focus, as the day advances, you may temporarily lose a little faith. In fact, this is a reminder to honor your needs for imagination, daydreaming, and spiritual sustenance, because if you ignore these things, you may get to a state of easy distraction and restlessness. Take time to unwind and regroup. The Full Moon and a Venus-Mars alignment tomorrow are sure to bring more courage, clarity, and excitement to your life, and it’s wise to center yourself now.
Pisces
Pisces
This morning favors an intensive focus on personal interests, research, and investigation, dear Pisces. You can benefit from reserving time to pour your mental energies and dedication into absorbing pursuits or passion projects. You can be so engaged and intrigued that you may spend a lot of time lost in thought or research. Some form of counseling or therapy, or simply a conversation about private matters with someone you trust, can be in focus. The second half of the isn’t as decided or certain, however. You may feel a little under the weather or demotivated temporarily, and this is a signal to regroup. A Full Moon and alignment between Venus and Mars tomorrow will grab your attention, but for now, unwind. Or, devote yourself to a cause or a learning opportunity.

The Chariot also represents the healthy personality of someone who believes in themselves; someone who can take control of the situation and bring events to a positive end. Your Earth Sky News for October 4th -Watch for Mars and Venus this week
Before dawn around now – early October, 2017 – use the dazzling planet Venus to find the rather faint red planet Mars in the sunrise direction. You might need binoculars to see Mars in the same binocular field of view with Venus. Fortunately, Venus and Mars will remain within a single binocular field for about a week – this first week of October. These two worlds will come closest together on the sky’s dome on or near October 5. At that juncture, the two planets will only be 0.2o (2/5ths of a moon-width) apart.
The rising time of Venus and Mars into the morning sky varies a bit worldwide. Just know that they rise before sunup, in the sunrise direction. If you want an exact time, you might click here for a recommended almanac. Given an unobstructed eastern horizon at mid-northern latitudes, the planetary twosome rises about 2 hours before sunrise. At temperate latitudes in the Southern Hemisphere, Venus and Mars come up in the east about one hour before the sun.
Venus, the third-brightest heavenly body after the sun and moon, outshines Mars by some 200 times right now.
In fact, at present, Mars appears about as dim as it ever gets in our sky. That’s because the red planet is now moving on the far side of the sun as seen from Earth; and moreover, Mars is only a few days shy of aphelion – its farthest point from the sun. Greatest distance from the sun – and Mars on the far side of the sun from us – means Mars is about as far away from Earth now as it can be.
Mars is faint now, but watch! In the coming months, Earth will be coming up fast on Mars in our smaller orbit, causing Mars to reach opposition on July 27, 2018. Then this world will be approximately 6.5 times closer to Earth, and some 70 times brighter in our sky, than it is now.
2018 will be a wonderful time to see Mars. At the July 2018 opposition, Mars will become the fourth-brightest celestial body to light up our sky, after the sun, moon and Venus. It’ll be brighter than the king planet Jupiter! That’s because, in 2018, Mars and Earth will be closer than they’ve been since 2003.
As 2017 comes to a close, look for Mars to climb upward each day in the eastern sky, away from the glare of sunrise. Meanwhile, watch for Venus to fall closer to the rising sun day by day.
This means that – in the coming few days – you can watch for Mars to climb higher in the east than Venus.
This great conjunction of Venus and Mars in the eastern morning sky favors the Northern Hemisphere, although it can seen from the Southern Hemisphere as well. At mid-northern latitudes, get up at least 90 minutes before the sun to view Venus and Mars with either the unaided eye or an optical aid.
Wishing you clear skies for the upcoming morning spectacle!
Bottom line: The close conjunction of Mars and Venus – when they have the same right ascension (equivalent to earthly longitude) comes on October 5, 2017. Then the two worlds are 0.2 degrees – or 2/5ths of a moon-width – apart.

Fill those who have hatred in their heart for their fellow man into love. Let them lay down their guns and realize the value of life.
Please, Divine Mother, bring peace to our world so no one else has to suffer their loss of a loved one ever again to violence.
With You, Almighty Mother, all things are possible. You give us Your Love, Your Blessings and through You all things are possible. Mother, we now ask that you heal your children and bring peace to our world.
I would like to start by extending our sympathy to all the victims and families of the mass murder this morning in Las Vegas. I don’t understand animals that would take a gun and try to kill as many people as possible. In fact, I don’t want too. They have no feelings or compassion for their fellow man. They are simply animals. they don’t understand the pain or the agony of losing someone you love. I do. Waking up and hearing this, only added to the heartache I already feel. Your loved one gone forever. Never to hear their voice, see their smile or feel their presence is a very, very heavy burden to carry and come to terms with. It is especially hard to come to terms with when they are suddenly taken from you. Our thoughts, our hearts and our prayers are truly with those in Las Vegas this morning. Goddess bless them all.
I would also like to thank each and everyone of you for your kind words, prayers and blessings for the loss of our dear sister, Mystie. I am not ready to talk about it but I will say she was closer to me than my own blood sister. We grew up together, it was her brother, Lord Myst, Mystie and myself. We were family. There was nothing we wouldn’t do for each other. Mystie came down her with me when I left the mountains. Lord Myst later followed. They were sent down here to protect me. That’s ironic, isn’t it. Mountain people believe in protecting their powerful witches so that is what Mystie and Lord M was sent here to do, to protect me. I didn’t need their protection but it was insisted they could watch over me while I did the work I was suppose too. So I agreed. I have did a lot of thinking, what if I hadn’t agreed. Would Mystie still be alive? There is always the “what ifs.”
I had a wise man once tell me, “we never know the exact day we are going to pass but we can sense it.” I believe the night Mystie left she knew it was her time. Before she left, she hugged me tighter than ever before and looked me in the eye. She asked me if I remembered my promise. I thought it strange at the time but I told her I would never forget the promise I made to her. The promise was if anything happened to her, she wanted Lord Myst and myself to raise her sons. She always went out but never, ever asked me if I remembered my promise to her. I ought to have seen right then what was coming but I didn’t. I didn’t because you don’t want to think about the worse thing in your life occurring to your best friend, no, sister.
When the call came in about the wreck, my heart crumbled and I honestly don’t believe it will ever mend. Lord Myst and I both went to the ground. The next thing we thought about was her sons. How do you tell two boys their mother was gone? I called them and asked them if they could come to the house. They came right away and when they walked in the door, they knew something was wrong. Telling those two boys what had happened was, really it is unexplainable. It was horrible to have to tell them and then even worse to see two lost boys wondering why. Why did it have to happen to them? I had no answers and still have no answers.
The funeral I don’t even want to get into. We laid Mystie to rest and I know she is at peace but her passing has turned all of our worlds upside down and inside out. We have talked to the boys about what their mother wanted for them. She wanted them to go to college and do better than she did. I believe that is every parent’s dream for their children to do better than them. We told the boys she wanted their uncle and I to raise them and see they had what they needed. To see they grew up into fine young men.
Lord Myst and I have decided that we would live together (he will have his own room and I will have mind) with the boys and raise them. One is in college and he is transferring down here. The other was almost ready to start college but now he wants to take some time off due to his mother’s passing. I told him I understood and it would be fine but he would eventually have to go to college. He breaks my heart. He follows me around like a little lost puppy. He break downs and cry, I try to console him but I’m not his mother.
I won’t lie to you, this is not going to be easy. Lord Myst and I are both broke. In fact, we really don’t know where our next meal is coming from. I maxed out all my credit cards to pay for Mystie’s burial. I have no regrets in doing so, I would do it in a minute again. She was my sister and even in her passing, I would do whatever I could for her. Lord M has gone back home to sell his home and move down here. The economy is horrible and it will probably take a while for it to sell. Until it does, who knows where our next meal is coming from. I feel ashame, the boys want to take flowers to their mother’s grave and I can’t even afford that.
I didn’t mean to write a letter but y’all are the only people that understand some of the things that we go through and I can talk too. I am suppose to be the rock but this rock has crumbled. I know their is one person who keeps saying we are cursed or hexed. I can guarantee you, we are not cursed or hexed, it is called life. Life happens, shit happens. I believe you all know I grew up in a half and half house. I know when my mother passed away, the Baptists said, “It was God’s will.” I believe after hearing that enough, that is when I turned to full fledge witch. It is God’s will to leave motherless children on this planet by their self. I wondered what kind of God would do that. I was sitting at the creek thinking about that and I felt a warm presence encompass me. It was the Goddess. Something I have never told anyone, she embrace me and gave me comfort I have never found anywhere else. She told me, my mother’s passing was part of life. It was part of the divine plan. She would reincarnate but the Goddess knew that did not ease my pain. She told me even though I had no maternal mother anymore She would always be with me. She would ease my pain and guide my Path. I know for a time I did stray from her but She was always there, watching, protecting and when She decided I had learned all I needed to know about the Dark Arts, She cosmic slapped me. She brought me back to the Light. She told me, “if I didn’t know the Dark Arts, then how would I ever defend myself against them.” Funny, I thought I was being rebellious but it was the Goddess’ plan all the time.
Now I depend on the Goddess to help me raise these two boys and give them a family. To carry out their mother’s wishes. I know how the boys feel. It is very, very hard being a motherless child. Not having any family, no one to turn too, facing a cold, cruel world all by yourself. The Goddess reassured me, that will not be their life. They will have a family, they would go to school and they would make something out of themselves we could all be proud of. The Goddess told me all Lord M and I had to do was supply them with lots of love, understanding and patience and She would be with us to guide them on the right Path.
Mystie’s children are now my children. I want to give them the best I can, just like I did for my own. She knew that, that is why she insisted I raise them. My credit cards are all maxed out and so are Lord M’s. Mystie was young and didn’t have any burial insurance. I would gladly do what I did again without a minute’s hesitation. She had a beautiful funeral which she deserved. Now as the fog starts to clear from my mind, I realize I am flat broke. I don’t even have money to feed my new family. All of our sites, we have let go due to her passing. We will eventually get the store back up and running and it will bring in revenue. But until that time was are on the mercy of the world.
With all the torment, agony and heartache we have been through, please help us to have some light at the end of the tunnel. I need your help, these boys need your help. Their world has been destroyed, please help me restore some sort of normality to it. I don’t beg very often but I am not. I am begging for Jacob and Jospeh.
We will be back tomorrow, hopefully. Till then….
Lady of the AbyssP.S.
We did set up a Memorial Fund for the boys when I first notified you of Mystie’s passing. We collect $75.00. Thank you, Pamela and Barbara. Your love & support throughout the years is priceless to the WOTC and myself. Thank you again, dear sisters.
