Gibbous Moon

(waxing/78% illumination)

Distractions from the outside begin pressing into your world. Analysis is favored, reevaluating all the various factors you are dealing with. It’s a time to process information and effectively integrate your aims with the people in your immediate environment. This is a good time for organizing things. This Moon phase is suited for synthesis: coming up with a practical plan for getting from point A to point B. Adjustment is required.

Good Saturday Morning, my dear, dear friends!

Good Morning, guys and gals! How’s it going so far? My morning has been super busy. I am starting to feel like myself again. And unfortunately everyone knows it, lol! Just kidding! I hate not being able to do things for myself. Especially having to depend on others to do things for me. I know they are very kind hearted to do what I need done. But it’s not the same, I want to get up and do it. I believe what I missed most was going down to the animal refuge every morning. That always starts my day off right.

Speaking of which, I know I am running late but it is not because I have been goofing off.  We went up in Illinois the other day and picked up a young momma cougar and her two babies. The first call we have ever got from Illinois and our first cougar. A first all the way around. We brought her back and I put her and her babies in their new home. She won’t let anyone come close to the enclosure except me. So I feed her every morning, clean out the cage and of course I have to play with the babies some. When the momma gets a little older and the babies bigger, I am going to have to find a safe place to release them. I know Kentucky has wildcats, bobcats but no cougars that I have actually seen. I can’t remember who it was but it was someone visiting me while I was down at the refuge. He told me about a cougar further down in Western Kentucky that was attacking cattle. Then he said a farmer came out and found the cougar on top of one of his horses. He said the cougar had almost tore off one side of the horse’s face. The farmer shot at it and missed but did manage to scare it off. The vet came out and managed to save the poor horse. But that man said there had been lots of reports of cougars around here. He told me I should be very careful at night when I come down to the refuge. I remember him saying, “You know a hungry cougar would knock you off your four-wheeler and eat you before you knew what happened. Now you be careful, gal!” I know I have heard some rumors of these supposedly cougars around here but something just don’t wash with me about the stories. Hmmm….

Oh, I have good news, I am training a new witch to help out with the postings. She will be mainly over the Southern Hemisphere section of the blog. I know those poor people feel totally neglected and I apologize for it. I was doing both sites till we got the cougar. Now my mornings are fairly full doing everything that needs to be done for her. The new witch’s name is Kathleen. She is a Hereditary witch and a Solitary. She has helped out here at the WOTC before. She use to reply to all the emails we receive. Now she understands my circumstances, she is willing to help out on the sites. I am very grateful for that. Now you will have three of us old broom riders you will have to put up with, lol!

Well the old broom rider is going to get on her broom and get busy. I hope everyone has a very blessed Saturday. If you are going out shopping, avoid the mobs at all costs, lol! No matter what your plans, enjoy the day.

Goddess Bless You & Yours,

Lady A

THINK on THESE THINGS’ for November 23rd

THINK on THESE THINGS’
By Joyce Sequichie Hifler

A new galaxy of shining promises made to oneself are resolutions made with the utmost faith that self is listening and will carry out the plans.

But self is as unpredictable as a child playing in the street; it may dart in any direction, according to the mood and to whatever catches its attention. At the first sign of a challenge, self may race back and lean hard upon the old ways of doing things, no matter how wrong it may be. Resolutions do very little to change a way of living. They are easily made and easily forgotten. They may be a sincere desire to keep a resolution, but if self has not changed inwardly, little depend on the outward change.

It is said that we promise according to our hopes and perform according to our selfishness. Failure to keep our promises to others is a disappointment, but failure within oneself is a disaster.

A little performance is worth a host of promises on any day that starts a new year.

Elder’s Meditation of the Day – November 23

Elder’s Meditation of the Day – November 23

“We’re sitting on our blessed Mother Earth from which we get our strength and determination, love and humility-all the beautiful attributes that we’ve been given. So turn to one another; love one another; respect one another; respect Mother Earth; respect the waters-because that’s life itself!”

–Phil Lane, Sr. YANKTON SIOUX

Our entire point of view can be altered by making one change to align with the principles of the Great Spirit. Let’s say we decide to become respectful. As we become respectful, our attitude will change. We will automatically draw into our lives knowledge about the other principles of the Great Spirit such as love, appreciation, trust, beauty, peace of mind. By focusing on these principles, we will let go of selfishness, self centeredness, self pity, dishonesty and fear. You focus on respect, you get respect; you focus on love, you get love; you focus on the Red Road, you get peace of mind.

Great Spirit, let me learn the lessons of respect.

November 23 – Daily Feast

Saying is claiming and claiming is putting a brand on something – not so different from the rancher that brands his cattle. Be careful what you claim as your own, because you will get it whether it is good for you or not. Old decrepit age is claimed by more people than anything else. They listen to advertising and medical reports and believe they are supposed to begin giving up when they are just past forty. Many things “could” happen, as the reporters say, but not if we stop claiming we are susceptible to every passing germ and every aging day. Speak the word and know it is right for us to brand our cattle any way we see fit – the very best, the very best.

Daily Motivator for November 23rd – Not just the easiest

Not just the easiest

Taking the easy way out does not usually end up being very easy. Taking the  easy way out in the short run will make things much more difficult in the long  run.

You have the choice to completely deal with each problem when it arises.  That’s much better, and ultimately easier, than simply delaying the consequences  until later.

You have the ability to speak the truth, and to take responsibility for your  actions. In the end, that’s easier than making increasingly difficult efforts to  hide who you are and what you’ve done.

The life you experience in the future is determined by the way you act right  now. Consider each of your choices in light of its overall impact on your life,  not just based on what’s easiest for the moment.

The quick and easy answers can often lead to lingering, difficult  consequences. The way to live a life that’s good is to honestly work through the  difficulties rather than avoid them.

You deserve the best in life, and not just the easiest, least effective  answers. You deserve the richness and fulfillment that a life of responsibility  brings.

Daily OM for November 23rd – Bird Meditation

Bird Meditation

Witnessing Nature through Meditation

by Madisyn Taylor

When it becomes too cold to be outside with nature, bring her inside through your meditation.

When the weather gets colder it can be more difficult to get in touch with the marvel of nature as it exists around us. Finding innovative ways to really connect with nature brings us closer to the wonders that envelop our lives. One way to do this is to perform a meditation with our feathered friends, the bird kingdom.

Just by taking a few moments each day to watch the bird activity that goes on in our backyards through our windows can bring a sense of calm and well-being to our lives. Watching and being with the birds that we share our garden space with us allows us to experience greater feelings of relaxation and gratitude for the diversity that is always present around us. Simply watching, without judgment or expectations, heightens our awareness of the beauty of nature. If you watch the birds for a long enough period of time you will begin to feel a great sense of deep joy within you knowing we are all truly divine. Doing this with our family members will in turn introduce a meditative practice that can easily be shared and appreciated by all, as well as create deeper bonds with each other through the joy of experiencing the healing power of nature.

Looking through our windows and placing a feeder and bird bath in our gardens to attract the birds is a way to call forth beauty into our lives. As we consciously connect with our outer world—even when the weather inhibits us from physically being in it—we see that the splendor we view outside of our windows is simply a reflection of what lies within us.

A Little Humor – Memo To Hospital Staff

Memo To Hospital Staff

It has come to our attention from several emergency rooms that many EMS narratives have taken a decidedly creative direction lately. Effective immediately, all members are to refrain from using slang and abbreviations to describe patients, such as the following:

  • Cardiac patients should not be referred to with MUH (messed up heart), PBS (pretty bad shape), PCL (pre-code looking) or HIBGIA (had it before, got it again).
  • Stroke patients are not “Charlie Carrots,” nor are rescuers to use CCFCCP (Coo Coo for Cocoa Puffs) to describe their mental state.
  • Trauma patients are not CATS (cut all to shit), FDGB (fall down, go boom), TBC (total body crunch) or “hamburger helper.” Similarly, descriptions of a car crash do not have to include phrases like “negative vehicle to vehicle interface” or “terminal deceleration syndrome.”
  • HAZMAT teams are highly trained professionals, not “glow worms.”
  • Persons with altered mental states as a result of drug use are not considered “pharmaceutically gifted.”
  • Gunshot wounds to the head are not “trans-occipital implants.”
  • The homeless are not “urban outdoorsmen”, nor is endotracheal intubation referred to as a “PVC Challenge”.
  • And finally, do not refer to recently deceased persons as being “paws up,” ART (assuming room temperature), CC (Cancel Christmas), CTD (circling the drain), NLPR (no long playing records), or TSTL (Too Stupid To Live).

The Day After Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Comments & Graphics

The Day After Thanksgiving

I ate too much Turkey, I ate too much corn,
I ate too much pudding and pie.
I’m stuffed up with muffins and too much stuffin’
I’m probably going to die.

I piled up my plate and I ate and I ate.
But I wish I had known when to stop,
For I’m so crammed with yams, sauces, gravies, and jams
That my buttons are starting to pop!

I’m full of tomatoes and French fried potatoes
My stomach is swollen and sore,
But there’s still some dessert so I guess it won’t hurt if
I eat just a little bit more!

Your Daily Feng Shui Tip for Nov. 23 – ‘Black Friday’

If you must get up before sunrise to take advantage of ‘Black Friday’ sales, let’s at least try to keep you in the red. On this day, take a gold marker or gold ink pen and draw the infinity symbol (the number eight on its side) on a piece of red paper. Write this Florence Shinn affirmative action mantra on the back, ‘My Universal Supply is endless,’ and then place this paper in the ‘Wealth’ area of main floor or bedroom. Leave this supercharged symbol in place for nine or 27 days. This Friday might be black, but your bottom line will be in red and gold!
