Taurus (April 20-May 20)

I have frequently said that you are financial wizard of the zodiac and it’s true. Be careful as this week begins because an argument with someone about debt, shared property or shared possessions could be nasty. Not only might you be in conflict, there might be confusion (even deceit) in the picture as well. Fortunately, Mercury is opposite you, which will help you to clarify and explain issues with others and discuss difficulties that arise. Ironically, this position of Mercury promotes signing contracts. However, don’t do this on Monday and Tuesday. When the dust settles, it appears that things will go in your favour. Until then, don’t count your chickens before they’re barbecued.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

You are at a mild disadvantage this week because the Sun and fiery Mars are opposite your sign. This means you have less energy. You need more sleep. You might feel less inclined to defend yourself. And you certainly will have to defend yourself because Mars opposite your sign will create tension with someone, especially an intimate partnership. You might have to compromise. The good news is that Venus is also opposite your sign, and this will help smooth things over. Avoid clashes with parents, bosses, the police and any authority figure because not only will they be nasty, someone might deceive you. Be comforted in the fact that you can see ways to get richer! Cancer (June 21-July 22)

There’s good news and there’s bad news. The bad news is that like everyone else, you’re facing a challenging week, especially on Monday and Tuesday. Relations with older people and authority figures will be dicey. In addition to which, a lot of facts are fuzzy either due to misunderstandings, misinterpretations, missing information or deceit. You will encounter these problems and issues related to your job, your work, your health and even your pet. But the good news is that you can throw yourself into your work (but don’t overdo things) and feel a sense of reward, no matter what goes wrong, because you are energetic and pumped to be productive this week! You want to get things done – and you will!

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

It’s curious that three planets in your chart right now are urging you to enjoy sports, get out and socialize, enjoy the theatre, talk to people, grab a movie, meet someone for coffee, lunch or dinner. Get away on a vacation if you can! This is the tenor of the potential of your week. However, (have you noticed that what the large print giveth the small print taketh away?) it is these very areas that will give you concern this week. You might have difficulty dealing with your kids. Social plans might go awry or disappoint. Sports might be challenging. In particular, romance will be in the toilet. There is definitely cause for confusion and disappointment, and in some cases, there will be deceit. Fortunately, family discussions along with home repairs are smooth sailing. Focus on these.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Home and family are a mixed bag this week. Many of you want to redecorate and make your home more attractive because you want to entertain and get in the holiday spirit. Some are more involved with a parent. But something is disrupting your home routine. Visiting guests? Redecorating projects? Whatever it is means you’re juggling more than usual, and this could trigger conflict with partners and friends. Step back and take a breath. Get some perspective. Don’t become embroiled. Instead go out and schmooze. Take a day trip Enjoy conversations with siblings and neighbours because you need some intellectual stimulation!

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

More than any other sign, you are affected by your immediate environment. Smells, lighting, colours, furniture arrangement, sounds and the energy of others can please and calm you, or make you want to run away. This is because you need harmony in your environment. You want things to be pleasant and attractive. Arguments and loud noises really bother you. Ironically, you do appreciate your daily surroundings right now; nevertheless, at the beginning of this week, conflict with someone might disturb you. Do what you can to create your own happiness. Avoid what you don’t like. Seek out what you do like. Stay mellow.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Mercury is in your sign now, which increases your desire to talk to others. You have something to say! You want to share your thoughts and opinions and you want to be heard. You also want to get out and feel stimulated by travel, visits, meeting new people – experiences that make you feel more alive. It’s all about you, dear Sagittarius, with the Sun, Venus and fiery Mars in your sign. “Look Ma, no hands!” This week has its speed bumps – for sure. Therefore, wise Sagittarians will go with what works. This is an excellent time to buy wardrobe goodies for yourself. It’s also a great week to do research. You’ll be intrigued with fascinating, spiritual topics and discussions about hidden sides of your personality. Despite your celebratory birthday vibes, you’ll love to grab some quiet moments to read or study by yourself. Having said this, Mars in your sign will oppose both Saturn and Neptune at the beginning of the week creating problems, especially with parents. Tread carefully! Proceed slowly and cautiously. Don’t let doubt and discouragement get hold of you because you thrive on optimism!

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Your good reputation is important you. You value the respect that others give you, especially from your peers and your community. In fact, probably more than any other sign in the zodiac, you value your friends and the wonderful characters that you meet. This is why conflict with a friend or a member of a group at the beginning of the week will concern you. In fact, if you feel that someone has been deceitful or dishonest with you, this will be wounding for you. Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Finally, it’s Sunday, the official day of rest. Not only do Christians acknowledge this day, but I’m sure many pagans appreciate this day, as well. Everyone needs rest and a lot of people need a good day to worship their creator(whomever or whatever that may be), however they deem fit to do so. With the Sun being the central theme of many ancient rituals, Sunday just seems to fit, in name and theory. Not only is it a good day to worship, it seems good to do more relaxed spells, such as sleep, dream, and rebirth.

A Spell for While you Sleep

You will need the following items for this spell:

Four lengths of appropriately coloured ribbon
which can be easily tied
Four pins
Your bed

Knot magic has a particular effect in ‘binding’ or fixing a spell in place and with the addition of colour it is possible to use ribbons to bring about a desired outcome. By using your own bed as a focus, your magical work can be done while you sleep. This is a very personal way of working and one which can bring particularly positive results.

If your bed has bedposts, simply knot a length of the correct colour ribbon for your purpose around each post.

Each time you do this, say:

With this knot of coloured ribbon

Bring to me the power hidden. Grant me that right Throughout this night.

If your bed has no posts then carefully pin the knotted ribbon to each corner using the same words.
Each night for two further nights touch each ribbon knot in turn and repeat the words above.

Leave the ribbons in place until you no longer feel the need for them. You can expect to have some fairly vivid dreams over the following three nights, which may help you to develop the qualities you seek. This spell allows your unconscious self to work in a protected space without the chatter of day to day matters.

To Drive Away Bad Dreams

You will need the following items for this spell:

Bowl of warm water
Salt
Your chosen sprigs of herbs
String

This spell uses herbal magick and correspondences to clear the bedroom of negative influence. It is often a good idea to use material that is easily available, so you might use sprigs of rosemary, sage, Lady’s bedstraw, maize silks or broom-corn. Since you want something taken away you should perform this magical working as the Moon wanes.

Dissolve the salt in the warm water.

Tie the herbs together.

Dip the sprigs in the water and sprinkle the corners of the room with the water.

Use the sprigs to sprinkle the salt water on your bedclothes, and particularly round the head and foot of the bed.

When you have done this, place the herbs under your pillow, or if you prefer, under the middle of the bed.

The next morning, discard the herbs at a crossroads if you can, either by burying them or allowing them to disperse to the four winds. Otherwise ensure that you have carried them well away from your home.
This carries all negativity away from your bedroom and bed. This spell uses rosemary which brings clarity, sage for wisdom, ladies bedstraw which is said to have lined the manger at Christs birth, and broom corn, which is used in worship of the Mexican goddess Chicomecohuatl. All these herbs bring cleansing, not just of the room but also of the occupants aura or subtle energy. On the basis that one should always replace negative with positive, you may like to use the following technique to bring about positive dreams.

Having prepared your environment, this next technique is of most use when there is a strong, deeply felt association with the issue or request being considered in magical terms, ideal conditions for spell working. It is like being able to consult an encyclopedia that contains a wealth of information in fact, the Higher Self.

The Magical Day Of Sunday

In many traditions of Paganism, days of the week are very important aspects of effective spellcasting. For example, spells to do with abundance or prosperity could be done on Thursday, because it is associated with riches and desire. When casting a spell concerning business or communication, one might prefer to work on a Wednesday due to its associations.

While not all traditions follow this rule, when you’re doing any sort of magical working, always be sure to document the day of the week you’re performing the spell.

You might be surprised later on to see some connections!

Sunday Magical Correspondences

Sunday is associated with the colors yellow and gold, which shouldn’t be surprising – it’s the day of the sun, right? Because of this planetary association, this is a day that’s also connected to solar deities like Helios and Ra. Interestingly, in some Celtic traditions, Brighid’s day is Sunday as well.

When it comes to crystal use, Sunday is related to quartz crystals and diamonds, as well as the yellowish hues of carnelian and amber. For herbs and plants in magical workings, use marigolds, sunflowers or cinnamon.

What kind of magic is best performed on Sunday? Well, it’s a day that generally has a number of associations – agriculture, beauty, hope, victory, self-expression and creativity are all connected to this particular day. Plant or harvest something new (not just material crops, but metaphysical ones as well), create something from nothing, and prepare to win at everything.

Take the cup in your hands and in a clockwise, stirring motion, move the cup in a clockwise, circular, stirring motion three times. Then, repeat these words aloud:

Oh Light of the Moon,
Wrap me
Protect Me
Keep me from harm.

Raise the cup towards the sky and drink the water. Remove the jewel from the cup. You must carry it on your person to the next full moon in order to ensure your protection. Repeat this ritual every month to benefit from its influence
