Planetary Day and Hour Correspondences

The way of the planets

To maximize the effect of witchcraft spells and natural magick, one should look to the natural correspondences between planets and other elements of the magick. In the two sections below, the planets are listed first with the aspects of life they rule, then in a chart showing how the planets correspond to other components you may use in designing in your spell. However, remember that the best magick is always composed of what works best for you!

Daily Correspondence

One Day is Not as Another

Daily correspondence is the way that the days of the week will relate to your magickal workings and the world around you.

We have broken this section into two parts.  The first table is a quick overview of the days of the week and how they correspond to different magickal workings.  The second section is an in depth study into different aspects of daily correspondence.

This is done for those who practice “high magick”. Though there is very little to do with Advanced Magick on Ancient Pathway due to the nature of that practice, we were unable to locate a comprehensive table for this subject, so we have provided it here.

All Signs

This week the Sun and Mercury move into Sagittarius, which will create strong, positive vibes for everyone. People will be optimistic, chatty and family oriented. However, by Thursday, some tough energy in Fixed signs will be sobering. Ah yes, what the big print giveth, the small print taketh away. Nevertheless, for the most part, this positive influence will set the tone for the next four weeks. We will all be more adventurous! We will expand our world through travel and learning. “I want life to sizzle!” One sure tip about how to feel better is this: “A random act of kindness, no matter how small, can make a tremendous impact on someone else’s life.”

Aries (March 21-April 19)

This week heralds a four-week shift of energy for you and it’s a good thing because the Sun will be in your Fellow fire sign for the next four weeks supporting you in a positive way. Yay! This happens twice a year about four months before and after your birthday. It means your energy level will be higher than usual and you will be able to do whatever you want — working and playing. Survey your recent achievements. How are you doing at the art of living? Examine what has worked out and what has not worked out. Don’t waste time on regrets. Pull your energy together and move forward! Expect opportunities to travel and learn. (Keep a bag packed by the door.)

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

This is a positive week but things will be crunchy around Thursday. Patience will be your best ally then. In the bigger picture, you will be more intense about everything in the next four weeks. In particular, issues related to shared property, debt, inheritances and insurance matters will be important. Travel opportunities exist, especially travel for pleasure. With Jupiter at the top of your chart, you look successful! However, Mars is now opposite your sign, and this makes you easily impatient with others. Oops. (You rarely lose your temper because it’s not pretty.) Practice patience. Enjoy the beauty and artifacts of other cultures.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

This is a lovely week! Be patient with others on Thursday when people might rub each other the wrong way. (A temporary glitch.) Meanwhile, for the next four weeks, the Sun is opposite your sign. This happens only once a year and when it does, it signifies that things in your life are reaching a culmination. You’re bringing something to a climax; but you might encounter conflict with others who stand in your way. If you have prepared properly, you will succeed. If things don’t work out, use this as an opportunity for reevaluation. All your personal interactions are extremely important. Meanwhile, keep your pockets open because gifts and goodies will come your way. (“We like!”)

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Recently, you have enjoyed playful, lighthearted times with others, perhaps a vacation? Now it’s time to get back to work, which is why the next four weeks offer you opportunities to pull your act together. Focus on efficiency and effectiveness. Make your actions count so that you get results for your efforts. This will extend to your health, which is why you will do what you can to improve your body and your overall sense of well-being. You might have to fulfil obligations to someone else or perform a service. This means you will work to get better organized, plus work to benefit others as well. (Makes sense.)

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

The next four weeks are a lighthearted, playful time! You will be happier! Life will be good. Having said that, this week around Thursday, there will be challenges with someone at home. You are a royal. Take the high road. Demonstrate grace under pressure. Your involvement with young people will increase in the next four weeks. Grab a vacation if you can. (Romance is blessed!) Relations with coworkers are cozy; in fact a work-related romance will begin for many. Do note that the same influence that brings a more sociable, lighthearted mood to your world will also promote your creative juices! If you’re involved in a creative process – get busy! You will shine!

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Home and family are your focus for the next four weeks. You might be more involved than usual with a parent. Family discussions and opportunities to tackle home repairs now exist. At a more personal level, you will enjoy a chance to cocoon and focus on the intimate aspects of your life. You’ll welcome a chance to relax among familiar surroundings because you need time off to contemplate and enjoy your own company. Avoid conflict this Thursday when things are crunchy. Fortunately, Venus is in a fun part of your chart encouraging playful times with kids, romance and fun, social outings. Visit restaurants, theatres and galleries. Enjoy your life while you have it.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Many small changes are taking place, which is why the next four weeks are busy! Short trips, activity with relatives, neighbours and siblings, appointments, plus increased reading and writing will create a jampacked schedule. Just accept this and attack what you do with enthusiasm and confidence. Fortunately, things at home are pleasant, harmonious and supportive. Don’t get your belly in a rash this Thursday when interactions with others are difficult. Meanwhile, you’ll be energetic approaching things in a hands-on way, plus you’re full of clever new ideas. This is your chance to accomplish a lot in just a few short weeks. “I’m done!”

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

For the next four weeks, you will be more focused on money, cash flow, your belongings and your assets. Study how what you own can give you more control in your life. And look to see what you own that is no longer useful. Why own stuff you don’t need? It’s an albatross around your neck! Fortunately, more than any other sign, you can purge what you don’t need from your life. At a more subtle level, you will reflect upon your values. In other words, what really matters? It’s time to cull things from your life that are extraneous – items, possessions and people. Life is too short for boxed wine; and too short for those who don’t have your back.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Ta da! The Sun is in your sign for the next four weeks, which occurs only once a year. This is a marvellous opportunity because it will boost your energy and recharge your batteries for the rest of year. It’s okay to be more self-centred. After all, the next four weeks are all about you. With the Sun in your sign, you make a fabulous impression on others. (Beware of jealousy.) You have a great need to express yourself and be who you are. Relax because this is one of the few times when your first duty is to yourself; and if you don’t fulfil that duty – you’ll be of little use to anyone else. (In the same way that on an airplane, a parent must put their oxygen mask on themselves first before their child.)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

It’s curious, your personal year is coming to an end but your new year won’t begin until your birthday arrives. Therefore, this is a time of limbo. However, you can use the next four weeks to get more in touch with your subconscious, and learn more about how your subconscious directs your life in ways you’re not aware of. For example, childhood behaviour patterns that have outlived their usefulness. (“When the boss comes, Kurt always hides under his desk.”) This is also an opportunity to look back over the year and see how well you have managed. Are you pleased with what you’re doing and what you have achieved? Where do you want to make changes for your new year ahead? Ideas?

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Friendships are important to you. (More than any other sign.) In the next four weeks, you will give more thought to your friends and the groups to which you belong. In fact, this is the best time all year to examine the role that they play in your life. Do you hang out with quality people? Do your friends have your back? What about groups and clubs? What is true of your friends is generally true of you. Furthermore, your friends and colleagues can influence your mind, and your mind makes your decisions for your future. Strive to establish who you are without being overly influenced by others. Having said that, the next four weeks are the best time for a team effort. “Go team, go!

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

The Sun will be at the top of your chart for the next four weeks – something that can take place only once a year. This is a blessing for you because it symbolizes that the Sun is shining down on you. Furthermore, this light is flattering! This is why without doing anything special on your part, you will impress others. Therefore, examine your role in society, and your standing in your community. What is that role? Are you an influencer? Don’t pretend to be something you are not because the truth will come out. Begin to prepare for next year because it will be one of the best years that you have had in over a decade. Oh yea, you’re going places!

To Protect a Sleeping Mind

You will need the following items for this spell:

Voice

Sleep is the time of dreams and visits. The following incantation repeated aloud at one’s bedtime will aid in the discouraging of unwanted visitors in the dreaming mind.

Before retiring for the night, repeat the following incantation aloud:

”Spirits of the night, I beseech thee,

Find favor with mine call and plea,

Draw close and circle round

Mine mind I clear and lend to sleep.

That sleep will use to rest the weary world

Let not the world and those unfavorable things within it

Visit upon mine mind unheralded

Uninvited visitors be sent away

Turned back

Turned back to the dark depths

Turned back to the sender whose name is never spoken

That thus he may gain strength

Gain strength and threaten those unable

Unable or unknowing

Unknowing or innocent

Innocents in the world

Sleeping as I sleep

Spirits of the night, I beseech thee,

Find favor with mine call and plea

Find favor and protect mine mind

Find favor and protect the innocents”.

This is best repeated nightly so as to protect ones mind and allow peaceful sleep and promote quiet dreams.

Ancient Civilizations Timeline: 16 Oldest Known Cultures From Around The World

Jana Louise Smit | Ancient Civilizations | December 15, 2019

I used to believe my great-grandmother was the first person on earth. She was so old, she HAD to be. Those deep lines carved around her eyes and mouth were a dead giveaway.

Turns out I was wrong. Unbelievably wrong. People have graced the vast grassy plains of this planet since long before even Nana’s great grandparents were alive (and there’s even a tortoise that’s older than her!).

Who knew? Well, I do now, and you can as well.

Here’s a complete ancient civilizations timeline — their names, dates, locations, and some bizarre bits of trivia about them — starting with one that was still flourishing only 600 years ago, and concluding with one still powering forward today.

Introducing Comet Leonard
Image Credit & Copyright: Dan BartlettExplanation: Here comes Comet Leonard. Comet C/2021 A1 (Leonard) was discovered as a faint smudge in January 2021 when it was out past Mars — but its orbit will take the giant shedding ice-ball into the inner Solar System, passing near both Earth and Venus in December before it swoops around the Sun in early January 2022. Although comets are notoriously hard to predict, some estimations have Comet Leonard brightening to become visible to the unaided eye in December. Comet Leonard was captured just over a week ago already sporting a green-tinged coma and an extended dust tail. The featured picture was composed from 62 images taken through a moderate-sized telescope — one set of exposures tracking the comet, while another set tracking the background stars. The exposures were taken from the dark skies above the Eastern Sierra Mountains, near June Lake in CaliforniaUSA. Soon after passing near the Earth in mid-December, the comet will shift from northern to southern skies.

An Almost Total Lunar Eclipse

Image Credit & Copyright: Robert Fedez

Explanation: Predawn hours of November 19 found the Moon in partly cloudy skies over Cancun, Mexico. Captured in this telephoto snapshot, the lunar disk is not quite entirely immersed in Earth’s dark umbral shadow during a long partial lunar eclipse. The partial eclipse was deep though, deep enough to show the dimmed but reddened light in Earth’s shadow. That’s a sight often anticipated by fans of total lunar eclipses. Wandering through the constellation Taurus, the eclipsed Moon’s dimmer light also made it easier to spot the Pleiades star cluster. The stars of the Seven Sisters share this frame at the upper right, with the almost totally eclipsed Moon.

Saturn brings a powerful, somewhat intimidating power to Saturdays. This is another great day for banishing and protection magic, as well as for setting strong boundaries. The energy of Saturn is very orderly and is great when structure is needed.

From Numerologist.com – Saturday’s Angel

Archangel Cassiel is the resonant Angel for Saturdays.

Known by many as the “angel of tears” he oversees the parts of life that we may perceive as limiting –  karma, trials, tests and lessons, old age and reincarnation. He is also the guardian of land, property, houses and farming.  It’s easy to see why he’s an archangel many would avoid, but if you lack stability in your life, and are willing to commit to long term goals by sacrificing immediate pleasures to get there, then he is your go-to angel.

He is serious and will help you deal with issues of a serious nature –  death, missing persons, psychic attack and the eradication of illness, pests and disease.  He is also here to assist us as we navigate boundaries and limitations, responsibility and authority, and our human mortality.  He is the archangel to invoke when dealing with injustices and enslavement and in moments of deep fear.

Archangel Cassiel is often depicted as an old man or holding an hourglass.

Invoke his presence and he will come to your aid to help carry your burdens and share your woe.  But he will also remind you of the necessity of hardship and the great learning that comes from the darkest hour.

Archangel Cassiel resonates with the colors of deep purple and black and with the planet Saturn.

Geminids from Gemini

Image Credit & Copyright: Wang Jin

Explanation: Where are all of these meteors coming from? In terms of direction on the sky, the pointed answer is the constellation of Gemini. That is why the major meteor shower in December is known as the Geminids — because shower meteors all appear to come from a radiant toward Gemini. Three dimensionally, however, sand-sized debris expelled from the unusual asteroid 3200 Phaethon follows a well-defined orbit about our Sun, and the part of the orbit that approaches Earth is superposed in front of the constellation of Gemini. Therefore, when Earth crosses this orbit, the radiant point of falling debris appears in Gemini. Featured here, a composite of many images taken during the 2020 Geminids meteor shower shows over 200 bright meteors that streaked through the sky during the night December 14. The best meteor shower in November, the Leonids, peaks tonight and tomorrow. Unfortunately, this year, dim meteors during the early-morning peak will be hard to see against a sky lit by a bright gibbous moon. Still, a few bright Leonid meteors should be visible each hour.

Light Pillar over Volcanic Etna

Image Credit & Copyright: Giancarlo Tinè

Explanation: What happening above that volcano? Something very unusual — a volcanic light pillar. More typically, light pillars are caused by sunlight and so appear as a bright column that extends upward above a rising or setting Sun. Alternatively, other light pillars — some quite colorful — have been recorded above street and house lights. This light pillar, though, was illuminated by the red light emitted by the glowing magma of an erupting volcano. The volcano is Italy‘s Mount Etna, and the featured image was captured with a single shot a few hours after sunset in mid-June. Freezing temperatures above the volcano’s ash cloud created ice-crystals either in cirrus clouds high above the volcano — or in condensed water vapor expelled by Mount Etna. These ice crystals — mostly flat toward the ground but fluttering — then reflected away light from the volcano’s caldera.

All Signs

Yikes! The energy this week will be like tabloid headlines. “Secret KFC Recipe Revealed!” “Who Killed JFK?” Yes, it will old home week for conspiracy theorists. This is because deep, dark secrets will come to light this week. Not only will a “light” reveal unknown mysteries or classified information – it will also trigger revelations that prompt people to leave stagnant, oppressive relationships. Outmoded structures will be cast aside. People are waking up and they want change! Mid-week, tempers will flare. Friday’s Lunar Eclipse will be the last straw. (No plastic, please.) My only hope is this doesn’t include my family’s secret recipe for chili. After all – some things are sacrosanct.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

This could be a momentous week for you with money, earnings, cash flow and especially, your financial involvement with others, especially partners. A dispute about shared ownership might arise. Financial secrets regarding the ownership of something or debt might come out. A secret could involve an authority figure, especially a parent or an older family member. You might feel betrayed or denied important information. As the week goes on, this tough energy will build. (Wednesday could be particularly nasty.) By Friday, the Full Moon brings everything to a head. Things need to be resolved. You want the facts and you want the freedom to govern what you own wholly or in a shared way. Simple.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

When it comes to money, you practically manufacture the stuff in your backyard. This week, you can expect disputes with partners and close friends that might also involve a parent or an authority figure or even the government because it feels like the world is out to get you. This conflict could be triggered by the discovery of information of which you were unaware. (You were either ignorant or deceived.) By Wednesday, you will express your displeasure! After that, the only Full Moon in your sign all year will occur on Friday. Hopefully, it peaks — once again, peace will be in the land and the crops shall be fertile and milk and honey will flow.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Although this is a crunchy week for many, I think it will be lighter for you. (Fingers crossed.) Nevertheless, you might have anxiety or disputes about your health. In fact, health concerns could trigger arguments with someone? Or perhaps these arguments will be related to your job or your work? They could also be related to your involvement with your pet or pets because something will trigger conflict in these areas for you. This conflict might be exacerbated by rules and regulations or the law. Very likely, you will feel a buildup of these problems but hopefully, after the Full Moon on Friday, you will have a sense of resolution. In fact, these problems should diminish and perhaps, even disappear? (One can only hope.)

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Patience is the antidote to anger. It does not remove the cause of anger; but it will stop anger from doing more damage. Remember this if you find yourself in conflict with your kids, a romantic partner, or a colleague in sports, the entertainment world or working with youth. You might argue with someone about fundraising or how to use a specific amount of money or a mandate. By Wednesday, you might be full battle. This could get even worse by the Full Noon on Friday! The good news is that fair Venus is opposite your sign and this will assuage difficulties with others. Plus, you’re a sensitive, caring person.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

This might be a challenging week for you. (Yes, we’re talking Bad Day at Black Rock.) Your home and your family will be interrupted in a major way. Family conflicts might be the result. You might also be at odds with your partner. People are very independent, and in the midst of all this, hidden secrets might come out! A family member might rebel against any kind of authority in the family. This could be very touchy on Wednesday; and by the Full Moon on Friday, the tension is palpable. Fortunately, following this, everything might quickly subside. Yay! Things fall into place and there’s even seconds on dessert. (Fingers crossed!)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Please note that there’s a lot of wild energy flying around this week. It could promote an accident-prone situation for your sign. Obviously, nothing has to happen. It’s just a potential – a possibility. Be aware that you might suddenly be arguing with relatives, daily contacts or neighbours, especially about controversial issues in our society. This could impact your job and even your health. Quite likely, you are worked up about something and feeling intellectually aggressive. Is this wise? Anger only clouds your thinking. Wednesday might be a day of confrontation. Frankly, things will not let up until after the Full Moon on Friday. Don’t try to win an argument. Don’t try to be right. Just relax.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

We are all dealing with confrontational issues this week, and for you, it could relate to money, possessions and your kids. You might quarrel about cash flow, earnings or who is responsible for what. Perhaps your values are different from those of someone else? (It’s particularly challenging when you encounter this in your kids.) Keep an open mind to hear the other person’s point of view because this is helpful. Also keep in mind that we are all receiving different inputs of information from different media sources. Contradictory information simply promotes confrontations. Practice patience on Wednesday, and wait until the Full Moon is over on Friday for things to settle down. You’ve got this.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

There’s no question that this is a challenging week. The tough aspects that are taking place involve the Sun, Mercury and fiery Mars — all in your sign. They are sitting at odds with Uranus and stern Saturn. As if that weren’t enough, at the end of the week, the only Full Moon opposite your sign all year will take place. What to do? Slow down! Take it easy. Minimize what you want to do. Be patient with everyone. Be kind to yourself. Have a coffee with Baileys. (Canned whipped cream is fine.) Sit this one out in a gentle, easy-going way for your own good. Quite literally, you need to wait for the storm to pass. Pamper yourself with good food and drink. Feet up. Fun TV.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Resist the urge to get involved with philosophical concepts that lead to confrontations with others this week because the odds are that this will happen. But will it be fun? No way. You like to get along with others. You love exploring ideas and enjoying lofty, profound discussions. But who needs confrontations and arguments? Avoid these, if possible, especially related to your work, your health or your pet. Don’t make a big deal about anything. Be as easy going and forgiving as you can because in the end – you will be the one who benefits. Who wants to have their belly in a rash? Not you! (“I want to get off eBay and get on an E-bike.”)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

You like to minimize collateral damage and keep up appearances because life runs more smoothly that way. You’re right. Very smart. You know that appearances are everything. Therefore, consider this week an opportunity for you to demonstrate grace under pressure, because there’s a strong likelihood that you will find yourself at odds with a friend, or perhaps your kids, or you might be at odds with a group. Things could get nasty. By Wednesday, people might be at each other’s throats! Not good. Financial responsibilities might be in the picture as well. All this will come to a head and hopefully, become resolved after the Full Moon on Friday. (Would that it were that simple – and it just might be.)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This week will have some challenges. Quite likely, you will find yourself at odds with an authority figure – boss, parent, even the police. For starters, deep, dark secrets might be revealed either to others or just to you. If it’s just to you, it might be a profound revelation about something that you can no longer ignore. It’s as if long-hidden information has suddenly come to light! Things will be volatile on Wednesday. The slightest provocation might provoke an argument. And by Friday, the only Full Moon that occurs all year in your House of Home and Family will take place. Do what you can to keep the peace, but of course, you also have to maintain your integrity as a human being.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Be aware that this week is an accident-prone time for you. Of course, an accident doesn’t have to happen but it might happen if you’re angry, flustered or distracted. Therefore, pay attention to everything you say and do, especially when jogging, walking and driving. It’s important to guard against knee-jerk reactions where you suddenly blurt something out and then you can’t take it back. This could be regrettable. (It’s definitely something you want to avoid.) Think about what is best for everyone. Generally speaking, what’s good for the bee is good for the hive. Next year will be a much easier year for you because lucky Jupiter will be in your sign. This is reassuring.

M33: The Triangulum Galaxy

Image Credit & Copyright: Bernard Miller

Explanation: The small, northern constellation Triangulum harbors this magnificent face-on spiral galaxy, M33. Its popular names include the Pinwheel Galaxy or just the Triangulum Galaxy. M33 is over 50,000 light-years in diameter, third largest in the Local Group of galaxies after the Andromeda Galaxy (M31), and our own Milky Way. About 3 million light-years from the Milky Way, M33 is itself thought to be a satellite of the Andromeda Galaxy and astronomers in these two galaxies would likely have spectacular views of each other’s grand spiral star systems. As for the view from planet Earth, this sharp image shows off M33’s blue star clusters and pinkish star forming regions along the galaxy’s loosely wound spiral arms. In fact, the cavernous NGC 604 is the brightest star forming region, seen here at about the 4 o’clock position from the galaxy center. Like M31, M33’s population of well-measured variable stars have helped make this nearby spiral a cosmic yardstick for establishing the distance scale of the Universe.
