The more clearly you visualize your intentions, the more powerful you make  them. When you can see exactly where you’re going, you can also find realistic  and workable ways to get there.

The power of your intentions also comes from the strength of purpose behind  them. When they’re solidly connected to what’s meaningful in your life, then  you’ll put your best efforts into making those intentions happen.

Your intentions are powerful precisely because they enable you to focus and  harness your substantial energy. Your intentions bring results because they  compel you to create those results.

Make them clear and meaningful, and give your intentions the power they  deserve. They’ll push you forward in creating the great life you deserve.

Walking in the woods, striding through deserts, climbing mountains or strolling along beaches are refreshing activities in and of themselves. When combined with a quest for magickal herbs they can be exciting adventures.

There are some basic ideas to follow here:

*Collect only what you need. Do you really need five paper sacks full of mugwort?

*Attune with the plant before collecting from it. You may do this by placing your hands around it and feeling its energies, chanting a simple rhyme or a few words that describe why you’re taking part of its energy(leaves and flowers), and/or by placing an object of worth in the soil at the base of the plant. If you have nothing else with you, put a coin or dollar bill beneath the plant before havesting. This represents your willingness to give of yourself in exchange for the plant’s sacrifice.

*Never collect more than 25 percent of the plant’s growth. If you’re collecting roots you must, of course, take the whole plant, so be sure to leave other nearby plants of the same type untouched.

*Don’t collect after rain or heavy dew. At least, not until the Sun has dried the plants. Otherwise they might mold while drying.

*Choose your collection site carefully. Never collect plants near highways, roads, stagnant or polluted waters, near factories or military installations.

To dry herbs you’ve harvested, strip off the leaves of flowers and lay on ceramic, wooden or steel racks in a warm, dry place out of direct sunlight. Or place them in baskets and shake the herbs daily until dry. Store in airtight, labelled jars.

Let’s Talk Witch – Feeding Your Chakras with Color

We have seven chakras–energy centers–in our bodies that help to give us radiant vitality and health when they are in balance. But if one gets low or out of whack, we can feel depressed, lethargic, or even become ill.

One nurturing and effective way to feed our chakras–to make sure they stay vibrant and energized–is with color. All you have to do to is look around at the natural world, or use your imagination. It’s easy to do color therapy for the health of our bodies, minds, and spirits. Here’s how:

To feed your chakras, start with the Higher Self, the 8th chakra located about 8 inches above your head. Then go one by one down the lower chakras as you are ready. Use words (unspoken or aloud) to open one chakra at a time, allowing it to drink in the color. (You may find that, if your eyes lock onto a particular color–like the bright yellow of a spring tulip, for example–that this is a sign that the chakra associated with that color really needs it. When you’ve had enough of the color, you may find that your concentration dims–an indication that you can move on to the next chakra.

White to the Higher Self (8th chakra): Look at a white cloud or white stone (quartz is perfect). Imagine complete purity, while bringing your awareness to the place 8 inches above your head where the Higher Self resides.

Violet or purple to the crown (7th chakra): Look at a ripe plum, an amethyst, or a purple flower (irises are perfect). If there is no natural purple nearby, visualize light filtering down through purple stained glass into your crown chakra.

Indigo or cobalt to the brow (6th chakra): A night sky full of stars, or the sky just before dawn, are good for this chakra, as are stones such as lapis lazuli, sapphire, and azurite. If you hold a stone and gaze at it, you will also absorb the healing energies of the stone. Eating blueberries is a great way to absorb blue internally!

Sky blue to the throat (5th chakra): Imagine your throat filling up with the blue of the daylight sky. Helpful stones include aquamarine, turquoise, Larimar, and blue tourmaline.

Leaf green to the heart (4th chakra): The budding green leaves of early spring is perfect for this chakra. In winter, look at a vibrant potted plant or imagine the new green foliage. Or look at–and then eat!–a Granny Smith apple!

Yellow to the solar plexus (3rd chakra): Imagine the bright yellow sun in your solar plexus, energy radiating out from its yellow center, clearing and healing as it goes. Or look at yellow flowers–lilies or tulips, for instance–or a banana. Helpful stones include yellow tourmaline, celestite, kunzite, topaz, and rhodonite.

Orange to the navel (2nd chakra): Imagine dried tree sap or the honey-colored wood found on the inside of tree bark–or petrified wood with dark orange. Pumpkins, oranges, daylilies and poppies are good to gaze at, and the stones orange calcite and carnelian are helpful.

Red to the base of the spine (1st chakra): A good red found in nature is the dirt in the American Southwest, or the red breast of a robin, or a tomato, or red apple.

Items You Will Need:

Cedar or sage smudging stick or cleansing incense
Bell Athame or ritual knife
White candle
Cakes and wine or juice

Purpose:

This spell, which signifies letting go the hurts of the past in a way that allows you to move forward with fresh energy into the future, can be performed at the time of the New Moon. By carrying it out every New Moon you are gradually able to cleanse yourself of the detritus of the past, often as far back as childhood

The Spell:

Cast your circle using the smudge stick or -incense to sweep the space as you move -around the circle clockwise.

Think of your space as being dome-shaped -over your head and cleanse that space too.

Ring the bell.

With your arms raised and your palms facing -upwards, acknowledge the Goddess and say:

Great Goddess, Queen of the Underworld, Protector of all believers in you, It is my will on this night of the new moon

To overcome my shadows and bring about change.

I invite you to this my circle to assist and protect

me in my rite.

Hold your athame or knife in your hands in -acknowledgement of the God and say:

Great God, Lord of the Upper realms, Friend of all who work with you, It is my will on this night of the new moon To overcome my shadows to bring about change. I invite you to my circle to assist me and protect me in my rite.

Light the candle and say:

Behind me the darkness, in front of me the light As the wheel turns, I know that every end is a beginning. I see birth, death and regeneration.

Spend a little time in quiet thought. If you can -remember a time either in the last month or-previously when times have not been good-for you, concentrate on that.

While the candle begins to burn properly -remember what that time felt like.

Now concentrate on the candle flame and -allow yourself to feel the positivity of the-light. Pick up the candle and hold it high-above your head.

Feel the energy of the light shower down -around you, the negativity drain away.

Now draw the power of the light into you -and feel the energy flowing through you.

Pass the candle around you and visualize the -energy building up.

If you wish, say: “Let the light cast out darkness.”

Now ground yourself by partaking of the -food and drink. Thank the God and Goddess -for their presence.

Withdraw the circle.

This is a very personal way for you to acknowledge the God and Goddess in your everyday life. While on first acquaintance it appears to be a protection technique, it is actually one to enhance your energies and to allow you to be healthy and happy in all levels of existence.

Mountains

 

Mountains have always captured our imaginations, calling us to scale their heights, to circle and worship at their feet, and to pay homage to their greatness. Mountains can be seen from thousands of miles away, and if we are lucky enough to be on top of one, we can see great stretches of the surrounding earth. As a result, mountains symbolize vision, the ability to rise above the adjacent lowlands and see beyond our immediate vicinity. From the top of the mountain, we are able to witness life from a new perspective—cities and towns that seem so large when we are in them look tiny. We can take the whole thing in with a single glance, regaining our composure and our sense of proportion as we realize how much bigger this world is than we sometimes remember it to be.

Mountains are almost always considered holy and spiritual places, and the energy at the top of a mountain is undeniably unique. When we are on top of a mountain, it is as if we have ascended to an alternate realm, one in which the air is purer and the energy lighter. Many a human being has climbed to the top of a mountain in order to connect with a higher source of understanding, and many have come back down feeling stronger and wiser. Whenever we are feeling trapped or limited in our vision, a trip to our nearest mountain may be just the cure we need.

There’s a reason that mountain views are so highly prized in this world, and it is because, even from a distance, mountains remind us of how small we are, which often comes as a wonderful relief. In addition, they illustrate our ability to connect with higher energy. As they rise up from the earth, sometimes disappearing in the clouds that gather around them, they are a visual symbol of earth reaching up into the heavens. Whether we have a mountain view out of our window or just a photograph of a mountain where we see it every day, we can rely on these earthly giants to provide inspiration, vision, and a daily reminder of our humble place in the grand scheme of life.

It is my humble honor on ‘World Cancer Day’ to share Feng Shui Grandmaster Lin Yun’s teachings on how to augment and reinforce all appropriate medical treatment from the perspective of this tradition. If you or someone you know is fighting this insidious disease, it may behoove you to investigate this adjustment. Professor Lin Yun recommended that the patient meditate daily on the Feng Shui ‘Six True Colors,’ transmitting their auspicious color sequence to the cells afflicted by cancer. The exact sequence of the ‘Six True Colors’ is white, red, yellow, green, blue, and black. This is considered to conjure increased spiritual and healing powers.

3.   Watch, listen and withhold judgment; in debate you your silences be long,
your thoughts clear and your words carefully chosen.

7.   Should you take a task upon yourself, work hard and well to accomplish it
properly and in good time. Always do the best you can.

10. Witches understand that the universe consists of perfect balance; therefore,
everything has an opposite.
11. Witches realize that for every action there is a reaction. (The Law of
Three).
12. Witches know that we are all one, we are all connected.
13. Never lie to yourself for this is the ultimate act of deceit.
14. Witches understand that the ultimate act of spirituality is the act of
positive creation through love.
15. Witches realize that the energy created through worship and rituals
manifests as a circular stream of positive energy.
16. Witches should never close their minds to knowledge.
17. Never practice a magickal system that you don’t fully understand.
18. Do not set a price on your magickal work.
19. A Witch uses the magickal circle as a physical and non-physical
representation of a temple on the earth plane.
20. Witches use the energies around them to assist in raising power.

Spells and rituals honoring or involving the element of fire should be done when the Moon is in either Aries, Leo or Sagittarius.

Spells and rituals honoring or involving the earth or earth healing should be done when theMoon is in either Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn.

Spells and rituals honoring or involving the element of air should be done when the Moon is in either Gemini, Libra or Aquarius.

Spells and rituals honoring or involving the element of water should be done when the Moon is in either Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces.

The circle is a sacred place in which magic is worked, where Wiccans can meet with the god and goddess. The word circle, may be misleading though. It is actually a sphere made of energy that encompasses all the participants and the altar. The magic circle defines the ritual area, holds in personal power and shuts out all distractions and negative energies. You can use objects on the ground to show the boundaries of the circle, such as stones, flowers, branches and candles, or crystals. It is formed of personal energy which is visualized as streaming from the body to form what looks like a bubble made of mist. Some Wiccans use tools such as the Athame, to direct this power, some use their hands.

Once the energy is flowing through your fingertips or chosen tool, walk the circle three times clockwise, envisioning the mist, or light or energy, whatever, trailing outward from you to form the sphere. When the circle is complete, shut off the energy flow by shaking your hand or pulling it back into your tool. Once the circle is cast, you are ready to perform your ritual, or magic.

The Moon continually moves through the Zodiac, and each sign has its own significance:
Aries – Good for starting things, but lacks staying power. Things occur rapidly, but quickly pass.
Taurus – Things begun now last the longest, tend to increase in value, and become hard to alter.
Gemini -Things begun now are easily changed by outside influence.
Cancer – Pinpoints need, supports growth and nurturance.
Leo – Showmanship, favors being seen, drama, recreation and happy pursuits.
Virgo – Favors accomplishment of details and commands.
Libra – Increases self-awareness, favors self-examination and interaction with others.
Scorpio – Increases awareness of psychic power. Ends connections.
Sagittarius – Encourages flights of imagination and confidence.
Capricorn – Increases awareness of the need for structure, discipline.
Aquarius – Favors activities that are unique and individualistic.
Pisces – Energy withdraws from the surface of life, hibernates within, secretly reorganizing and realigning.
