Yule Chant for Women
Yule Chant for Women
The cauldron is placed in the south with an unlit candle in it and wreathed with
Holly, Ivy and Mistletoe. You will need a veil.
Say:
“I grow desirous of my Lord,
His seed stirs within me.
The time of light is upon us.”
Draw a veil over your head and circle deosil seven times, saying:
“Return, oh return!
God of the sun, god of the light, return!
When I see Thee not
My heart grieves for Thee
Return! Return! Return!”
Stand before the altar with arms upraised, saying:
“Queen of the moon, Queen of the sun
Queen of the heavens, Queen of the stars
Queen of the waters, Queen of the earth
Bring to us the child of promise
It is the great mother who gives birth to Him
It is the Lord of Life who is born again
Darkness and tears are set aside when the sun shall come up early!”
Take a candle from the altar and light the candle in the cauldron, saying:
“Golden sun of hill and mountain
illumine the land, illumine the world
illumine the seas, illumine the rivers
sorrows be laid, joy to the world!
Blessed be the great Goddess
Without beginning, without ending
Everlasting to eternity
Io Evo! He! Blessed Be!
Io Evo! He! Blessed Be!…”

Besom Chant

Besom Chant
Besom, besom long and lithe
made from ash and willow withe
Tied with thongs of willow bark
in running stream at moonset dark.
With a pentagram indighted
as the ritual fire is lighted
Sweep ye circle, deosil,
Sweep out evil, sweep out ill,
Make the round of the ground
Where we do the Lady’s will.
Besom, besom, Lady’s broom
Sweep out darkness, sweep out doom
Rid ye Lady’s hallowed ground
Of demons, imps and Hell’s red hound;
Then set ye down on Her green earth
By running stream or Mistress’ hearth,
‘Till called once more on Sabbath night
To cleans once more the dancing site.
Brightest Blessings To All My Brothers & Sisters of the Craft!

I call to the Spirits of love and light To Help me make my outlook bright Take away the gloom and doom With the sweeping of my broom. Cleanse my soul of feelings dark Where misery has left its mark Shift my thoughts to patterns new Within the cauldron’s witchy brew. Ease my heart and mend all hurt To childlike innocence I revert Greeting each new day with glee Amid my magick’s mystery. Negative out and positive in With this new attitude I begin To live my life with love and light And see the world with clearer sight.
So Mote It Be.
“An Autumn Chant”
by Karen Bergquist
I will dance The dance of dying days And sleeping life. I will dance In cold, dead leaves A bending, whirling human flame. I will dance As the Horned God rides Across the skies. I will dance To the music of His hounds Running, baying in chorus. I will dance With the ghosts of those Gone before. I will dance Between the sleep of life And the dream of death. I will dance On Samhain’s dusky eye, I will dance. The Cauldron Chant
The Cauldron Chant
by Ammond ShadowCraft
We form the Circle, The Circle most round. We form the Chalice, The Chalice now found.
We call the Goddess, to meet the great need. We call the God, To plant His fertile seed.
We call the quarters, which we call four. We summon the powers, that contain the force.
We stir the Cauldron, from which we were born. We call the Gods, from whom we were torn.
We say the words, which lead us round. We pass the kiss, with our lovers found.
We face our dreams, in nights psychic flight. We face our hopes, in bright moon of the night.
We face our fears, on the Dark Lords Horn. We face our failure, in the Mothers new planted corn.
We live our lives, drumming and dancing on the meadow. We confront our Death, in the dancing moon light shadow.
Our paths run quickly, on fleet foot and wing. Our Circle is joyous, with our Queens and our Kings.
Let our little Circle be happy, with Bell, Bowl or Bow. And form now this Circle, with gracious Love, Joy and Hope.
BLESSED BE
Crone Chant for Good Judgment

Ancient Hag, Wise Grandmother,
You of Wisdom, like no other,
Help me weigh choices with precision,
To make a good and fair decision
Show me what I need to see,
Shed some light on what should be.
And should I turn a deafened ear
Open it so I can hear
Help me feel what I should know.
Show me now which way to go.
Guide me in what I just do.
This, Old Crone, I ask of You.
So Mote It Be

-I understand that this chant was written by Lady Tamara of the WCC.
(However, I have no evidence for this except hearsay, and the fact that
the WCC appears to use it, so I may be wrong.)
-I don’t have a published source for it – but it’s one of those things that
every Witch in town seems to have a copy of.
-There is absolutely NO reason to think of it as traditional Gardnerian or
Alexandrian. However, it’s an example of the kind of thing that finds its
way into a lot of BOSs, regardless of tradition. There appears to be no
equivalent to this in the “standard” BOS, and some people feel a need for
it, so a lot of people have added this chant to their BOS.
