13 Faces of the Moon

Wiccan13 Faces of the Moon

13 Goddesses of the moon
Is to whom I dedicate this poem to
Astarte, Bast, Cybele, Diana, Eris, Freya, Gaia,
Hathor, Isis, Juno, Kali, Lakshmi and Maat
13 faces of the moon

Is to whom I dedicate this poem to
One of them whom is
She who wears the crescent horns
Astarte, who is our protectress for 29 nites

One of them whom is
The Lady we hold great celebrations for
Bast, who looks over the black cat of the dark nites
Bast, who watches over us for a steadfast 30

The Lady we hold great celebrations for
As we dance and drum for Her
Ecstatically for 29 nites
Is Cybele, our great Mountain Mother

As we dance and drum for Her
We are loving devotional Priestesses
Of Our Mother of all Creatures
Diana, who shines down on us for 30 nites

We are loving devotional Priestesses
Who sees Her lovely face in the moon
For 29 continuous nites of chaos
As Eris, the Goddess who discords us into perfect
rhythm

Who sees Her lovely face in the moon
For she is our large wombed-earth mother
And for 30 nites She keeps by our side
As we fly with Freya on a magical ride

For She is our large wombed-earth
For She is our mother and daughter
For She is the earth herself born from chaos
For She is Gaia who for 29 nites, lites the sky

For She is our mother and daughter
Who wears a sun disk glowing between horns
As the moon shines from Her for 30 nites
Shines from Hathor, our Great Goddess

Who wears a sun disk glowing between horns
For She is our Goddess of the moon
Who shines for 29 nites on the Nile’s moonlit waters
Where Osiris’ love reflects for her, our Queen Mother,
Isis

For She is our Goddess of the moon
Our Mother of the dark
Who shines down on us for 30 nites
For she is Juno, our lady of the sky

Our Mother of the dark
Who is one face of our Great Devi
She is Kali Ma
Our Goddess who dances the dance of death for 29 nites

Who is one face of our Great Devi
Who has many names
And for 30 days
She looks down upon us with the lovely face of Lakshmi

Who has many names
Whom we all love and cherish
For all these Goddesses that starts with Astarte whom
Stays around for 29 days and ends when we see
the luminous face of Maat

Whom we all love and cherish
For they are the 13 Goddesses of the moon
Astarte, Bast, Cybele, Diana, Eris, Freya, Gaia,
Hathor, Isis, Juno, Kali, Lakshmi and Maat
For they are the 13 faces of the moon

Select the two candles based on your birthdays as follows: Aires (red), Taurus (green), Gemini (gold), Cancer (silver), Leo (orange), Virgo (pink), Libra (white), Scorpio (red), Sagittarius (blue), Capricorn (purple), Aquarius (any color), Pisces (blue). With this flame
I open my heart to you
I open my mind to you
I open my spirit to you
I open my body to you
Our love is boldly awakened
And I bask in your loving light
I feel your hot, passionate love flowing in and out
Flowing through me, around me, above and below me.
From oil to candle, our love does flow
As I will, make it so!

Have your lover repeat the incantation to you, and just let nature take its course. Open up to one another. Allow the candles to safely burn down.

    September Birthstone – Sapphire

The Sapphire is the birthstone for the month of September. The deep blue color is most associated with this stone and was one of the most popular among Christians in earlier biblical times. This mysterious, abyssal depth of blue symbolizes heavenly grace and ancient Persian civilizations thought of the world set in front of a giant sapphire during the night sky.

The word sapphire is derived from the Greek word, “sapheiros”, “means “precious stone”. It is a reflection of constancy, and blesses its owner with clairvoyance, interpretation and insight. In earlier times it was also used to increase the power from Venus, banishing evil thoughts. Kings and priests favored this gemstone the most and saw in the sapphire a token for wisdom and purity. According to the bible, it is believed that the Ten Commandments were written on tablets of sapphire. There are many healing properties of the sapphire from lowering fevers, and curing hearing problems. It can relieve pain from cancer and also burns.

It can be found in Burma, Australia, Kenya, Tanzania, Kasmir, Cambodia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka(once a part of India), where it was mined for as early as the seventh century BC. There are a variety of colors they can be found in other than blue, but include pink, yellow and white as well. These are referred to as “fancy sapphires”. The blue color is given by very small amounts of oxide, iron and titanium within the stone. India boasts having found the most famous and largest of sapphires, weighing in at 563-carats. Its home resides in the American Museum of Natural History. As it is in the same family of the ruby, like the ruby, it is also second to the diamond in hardness, making it an ideal gemstone for jewelry.

It is a traditional gift for the fifth wedding anniversary, and has been given in place of a diamond for an engagement ring. Princess Diana had an engagement ring given to her by Prince Charles, and is also the engagement ring of Princess Anne. When wearing a sapphire, it is believed that it will give to its owner anything their heart desires; wealth, longevity, happiness and health. It also can restore lost property and wealth, alleviating long-term misfortune.

Each month and its season month throughout the year brings in a new cycle. It does not need to be stated that each of these seasons have a renewed energy, and a new meaning. Specific gemstones throughout many centuries have been designated to symbolize our birth-month. These stones are in accordance with the Gregorian or Western Calendar. Earlier civilizations of India and Babylonia viewed gemstones as magical, mystical symbols. They believed that each one possessed a magical attribute or property that connected their significance aligning with the Zodiac calendar.

Other interesting facts about the September Birthstone Sapphire:

-It is said that it must be set in silver or white metal and worn on the middle finger for any therapeutic purposes.

-Suspicions of ancient India state that the gem should be kept close to one’s skin or under the pillow while sleeping for at least one week before the final purchase is made.

-It is one of the navagraha stones, that represent each of the nine planets. Standing for Saturn it is related to duty and salvation.

    Other September symbols:

    September Birth Flower:

Aster and Morning Glory. The symbolic meaning of the morning glory is one of affection.

    September Birth Tree:

    Weeping Willow

The Goddess is Alive

Goddess Comments & GraphicsThe Goddess is Alive

Moon shines down upon a sea of Light,
Shifting sands lay singing in the Heart of the Night.
I looked upon a scene that gripped me to the core,
White-clad maidens below were dancing on the shore.

Sweet sounds slipped from moon-lit throats,
Wind whipped hair abound,
Lit by the light within and without,
The Women circled ’round.

As I stood, water engulfed my feet,
My body swayed to your Heavenly Heart beat.
Wind and wave and fire light,
Paled in my mind Earthly delight.

Time slipped by me as you held your embrace,
And windblown spray covered my face.
Protected deep within your Womb,
I could feel the tender pain of Life’s bloom.
Candles flared high as the Dance progressed,

Deep inside with a healing touch you blessed.
All around, wind, wave and fire shouted of your life,
Your light speared deep within, soothing my strife.

Divine Mother, Goddess of Light,
To you I come seeking protection from the night.
Come home to shelter within your arm,
Surrounded by Love, hidden from harm.

Holy Mother, Queen of Heaven and Earth,
From you we all trace our Birth.
Heavenly Goddess, light from above,
Shine down upon us, we pray for your Love.

WOTC Extra(b) – Your Time of Personal Power

goth witch

Your Time of Personal Power

By keeping records of your spellwork, you should be able to figure out which days of the week or time of day your spells tend to work. Perhaps there’s a particular time of day or time during the moon cycle when you feel as if you could do anything, when raising energy is easy, when you can focus easily and tune out distractions with no problem. This, then, would be a power time for you.
Your power time is an alternate timing bonus for you. It’s like a secret weapon: you can default to casting a spell during your power time and know that it will have just as much impact as scheduling the spell for 7: 38 on a Thursday evening during the waning moon might have.
To pinpoint your power time, look through your spell journal. Your notes concerning the immediate results will be important: how did you feel during the actual casting of the spell itself? Conscientious maintenance of short-term and long-term results will be important as well. Look at the time, moon phase, or moon sign of the successful spells. Is there a pattern? Are you particularly on the ball when the moon is in Pisces, or in Virgo? Perhaps casting during the hour of Mars is the key to your success. Take a look at the weather as well. It may be that clear sunny days or cool evenings are your power times.
Everyone’s power time is different. You also might have more than one power time, which might make it difficult to narrow down. Don’t worry; the more often you cast spells, the clearer it will become.

Let’s Talk Witch – Timing of Manifestation

goth witchTIMING OF MANIFESTATION

A common question associated with timing concerns how long you’ll have to wait until you see the results of your efforts. There is no hard and fast rule about when success will manifest, and this is due to a number of variables such as the degree of concentration and focus, the amount of energy that went into the spell, the kinds of obstacles and challenges you are working against, and what your goal is.

As a general rule, however, your evaluation ought to be connected to the method of timing you employed in your spell. As I mentioned above, if you choose to cast a spell timed to a season, look for the manifestation of results to be reflected in that temporal process. One of the reasons why spellcrafters tend to use moon cycles more frequently than solar cycles is because the moon goes through a full cycle in approximately twenty-eight days, as opposed to the sun’s 365-day cycle. A standard practice is to wait one full lunar cycle before you evaluate the spell’s progress; that means if you haven’t seen any movement whatsoever concerning your problem within about twenty-eight days, note it down in your records and think about what to do next. Do you want to do a small spell to raise energy to support the original spell?

By the second lunar cycle after your spell (that’s just under two months), if you still haven’t seen any movement concerning your situation, it’s time to evaluate again. Do you want to recast the spell? Do you want to do another spell to remove obstacles?

In your first and second monthly evaluations, you’ll have to make a personal choice between leaving the original spell to do the work you sent it out to do, undisturbed; supporting the original spell by raising and sending it more energy; or redoing the spell completely. Have patience, and have faith.

Even though you may not see significant changes, the energy of a spell has a lot of little things to shift and nudge in order to rebalance a situation. It can take a while for any kind of result to become obvious.

If, by the time the moon has cycled three times after your original spell (that’s just under three months), you still haven’t felt or seen any change, then abandon the spell and approach the situation differently, perhaps with a different spell, a rephrased need, or a simplified goal.

A common error on the part of spellcasters is to assume that their spell isn’t working and to cast it again soon after the original spell. Ours is a society which functions on instant gratification, and patience is not one of our strong points; we forget that life moves in cycles, and that nature is not about to jump the tracks just to hand us our hearts’ desires. Scrapping your spell simply because it hasn’t demonstrated dramatic change is like throwing the proverbial baby out with the bath water. There’s a bunch of your energy out there, patiently toiling away to slowly reform reality in accordance to your will. If you recast the spell, or create a new spell to do the same thing, you’re not only telling your subconscious that you don’t trust it, you’re ordering the energy out there to stop in its tracks.

Remember, more often is not necessarily better. If you keep stirring those energies, you can stir them right off course.

Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace, how sweet the Earth
that bore a witch like me!
I once was burned, now I survive,
was hung and now I sing.

T’was grace that drew down the moon
and grace that raised the seas.
The magic in the people’s will
will set our Mother free.

We face the East and breathe the winds
that move across this earth.
From gentle breeze to hurricane
our breath will bring forth the change.

Turn towards the South and feel the fire
that burns in you and me.
The spirit’s flame will rise again
and burn eternally.

We greet the West, our souls awash
in tides of primal birth.
Our tears and blood, our pain and love
will cleanse and heal the earth.

Reach into the North and know your roots
down deep ancestral caves.
We find the wisdom of the Crone,
Of circles we are made.

Amazing earth, enduring life,
from death into rebirth.
T’is earth I am and earth I love
and earth I’ll always be.

Amazing grace, how sweet the Earth
that bore witches like we.
We once were burned, now we survive,
were hung and now we sing.

Goddess bless, so mote it be,
Our magic spirals on.
Merry meet and merry part
and merry meet again.

The Witches Magick for the 21st Day of the Hare Moon – Blue Candle Healing Magic

Blue Candle Healing Magic

This spell can be used to enhance recovery from an illness.

You will need a ballpoint pen, a blue candle, rosemary-scented oil, and a picture of the person needing healing.

At 12:34 a.m., inscribe the name of the person needing the healing on the candle body three times.

Each time you inscribe the name, repeat:

May the healing energy of the Goddess and God be with you.

Dress the candle with a thin film of rosemary oil. Also, put a drop of oil on each of the four edge corners of the photograph. Wipe any remaining oil from your hands, put the photograph on your altar, and set the candle on top of the photograph in such a way so you can still see the person’s face. Light the candle. Say:

As this candle burns, [Say the person’s name] good health returns.
Center your mind and focus on sending healing energy to the person, and say:

May the divine healing spirit restore
[say person’s name] health and
vitality. May [say person’s name]
body be healed, strong, peaceful, and
filled with the powerful presence of
the Goddess and God. May [say person’s name]
be blessed with deep healing within and without.
May [say person’s name] be whole, vital and strong.

Concentrate on the face in the photograph as the candle burns. With all of your awareness, with your mind, heart, and spirit, will the person to be completely well again. Keep doing this for at least fifteen minutes. When you are finished, allow the candle to safely burn down. Put the photograph in a safe place.

Poppet Binding Spell

Poppet Binding Spell

The purpose of this spell is to rid yourself of the negative energies of someone who is mentally or emotionally abusing you. If done properly, it will not harm the object of the spell nor will it affect his or her daily life in any way. It will simply make the person powerless to mentally or emotionally harm you.

Preform when Moon is dark

Materials:

Small cloth doll,(poppet) leave the head unstitched until you are ready to begin the ritual Needle and thread

Some personal item from the person you want to bind (fingernail clippings, hair, handwriting sample)

Black ribbon

Black candle

Cauldron or other fireproof container

Sterilized needle

Piece of parchment paper and pen or quill

One candle at each quarter (optional)

Ritual:

Call the quarters – I like to use candles at each quarter to form a circle of fire for extra protection. Light the black candle Concentrating deeply on the person you are binding, place the personal object inside the head of the doll and sew it shut.Tie the black ribbon around the poppet’s head, signifying the binding of that person.

‘With harm to none, my will be done

I hereby bind you (name of person)

Your words cannot harm me

Your thoughts cannot harm me

You cannot harm me’

Continue chanting this or something like it until you feel power surging through you. Visualize the person helpless to slander or verbally and mentally abuse you while you are chanting.

~ Now, to bind the spell ~

If you have a sigil or a craft name, sign it on the small piece of paper. If not, sign your own full name. If others are working the ritual with you, they too should sign the paper. With the sterilized needle, prick one of your fingers and put a small drop of blood over your signature. Again, if others are working with you, they should place a drop of blood over their signatures. (using a different needle, of course) Fold the paper, light it on fire and drop it into the cauldron (which should be on a heat-proof surface!). Meditate on the flames until the paper completely burns away. If you are working with a group, join hands at this point and feel the power surging around the circle as the spell is bound. Ground and center Release the circle. Thank the Goddess and God for their protection and power Bury the doll as far away from you as possible within the next few days.

Ice Binding 2

Ice Binding 2

Another way of ridding yourself of an unwanted negative influence is to write the name of the person or event at cause on a piec of paper. Concentrate on putting the negative energy into the paper. Place the piece of paper into a jar of water and put it into the freezer. Allow the paper to remain frozen in the water until all of the negative energy flow has completely stopped, then you can remove it, thaw it, and bury it in the ground.

Ice Binding 1

Ice Binding 1

Light a white candle and your favorite incense. Meditate a short while
on the problem. Invoke the Spirits of Protection for you and yours. Then
take a piece of brown paper, like from a grocery bag, on it use a lead
pencil to print and write the name of the offending person or people. If
unknown people are involved, also print and write, “and all persons unknown
that are causing harm to me!”

Cross off each line forcefully and say, forcefully,

” I freeze name(s) to be bound by this spell, unable to cause any more
harm to (name(s)! As I will, so mote it be! “

Then put a spoonful of used coffee grounds on the brown paper, fold it
small, and place it in the freezer. Leave it until the problem is
completely resolved. You may wish to  wrap a rubber band, string, twist tie, etc. to keep the coffee grounds from falling out of the paper. You can also use a ziploc bag. Be sure and burn the candle completely up. Don’t  use that candle for a different purpose.

CANDLE BINDING

CANDLE BINDING

Get a large white candle, the kind that drips wax, and set it up on a tray. Affix it to a photograph or other image of the person you wish to bind. Make a ring of sea salt around it. Make a second ring with protective herbs. Fill the rest of the tray with images that represent what you are binding the person from: pictures of your family, keys to your house, legal documents, whatever. If the problem is too complex for images, write what the person is bound from on slips of paper and place them around the candle. Papyrus, or paper made from cotton or linen work best for this. Use red ink if you are angry, purple ink if you are sad.

Wrap the candle and the image with black thread. Invoke Isis and Linda, the Binder with Linen Thread. Say out loud what you are binding the person from. Light the candle and leave it to burn until the wax begins to drip over the thread and image. Burn it every day for a week, until the image is thick with wax. Use this as a meditation device to direct your will to binding the person.

Binding Spell

Binding Spell

You will need:
One glass jar with lid
Photograph or personal item of person you want to bind
One white ribbon
Sea salt
Canning wax

Wrap the photo or item with nine knots of white ribbon, as you do, envision the person leaving in peace. Each time you make a knot, chant

“I bind you (person’s name) so you can harm none, not even yourself”.

Place the photo or item in the glass jar. Say

“I bind you with all the power of the great Mother”

Cover the item with sea salt.

Melt the wax and pour into the jar and say

“I bind you from this day and forever”.

Seal up the container and bury it in the north end of your yard. Tell no one what you have done
