Moon Alert

There are no restrictions to shopping or important decisions today. The Moon is in Capricorn.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

It’s a fact that patience is the antidote to anger. Remember this when dealing with parents and bosses today because you might want to lash out. However, this can often lead to regret. (“Did I just say that?”) Instead, be patient and let things cool down. All will be well.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Avoid controversial subjects like politics, religion and racial issues today because these are hot buttons, and today is a poor day to discuss anything touchy. Be smart and give these situations a wide berth. Instead, focus on moneymaking ideas, your cash flow and your possessions.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

With Mercury and the Sun in your sign now, you’re talkative and convincing! Nevertheless, disputes with others about shared property, bills, debt and banking issues could arise. Hello? You don’t need this. Steer clear of this and focus on physical athletics and fun competition.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Tread carefully today because disputes with others, especially authority figures, could ruin your day. Who wants this? Not you. You want to have a positive, happy day. Therefore, choose positive options. Don’t get involved in arguments. Don’t be critical of others. Stay chill.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Don’t get your belly in a rash today arguing with someone at work or about religion, politics and race. This is a bad day for any kind of conflict because things could get nasty. Wait for another day to state your case. (There are none so deaf as those who are wearing headphones.)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Parents must be patient with their kids today; and romantic partners must be patient with each other. Sports colleagues will also be tempted to fight. This is because today the Moon is at odds with fiery Mars, which makes people irritable, rash and hasty. Best to zip thy lip.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Domestic conflicts and arguments at home or with family members are likely today. Knowing this ahead of time, you can avoid nasty confrontations. Don’t even go there. Instead, focus on learning something new today. Perhaps you can make travel plans for the future?

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Steer clear of friction and nasty arguments related to your work, a pet, or something to do with your health because these kinds of disputes will arise today. Fortunately, with Venus opposite your sign, you can charm everyone.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Arguments about money or possessions might take place today with your kids or perhaps a romantic partner. But this is just a temporary dark cloud on your horizon. Don’t give in to an urge to engage in disputes or be quick with a nasty retort. Take the high road. You’ll feel better.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Today the Moon is in your sign, which will always heighten your emotions. However, it will slightly increase your good luck, so go with that. Be smart and avoid arguments with family and relatives. Fortunately, relations with your kids are warm and friendly.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Today you will prefer keeping a low profile, even though you might be unhappy about something. In fact, your frustration might be that you are unhappy but you can’t speak up. (The worst!) Today your best option is to go along to get a lot. This is no biggie.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

You might find yourself at odds with a friend or a member of a group today, which is unfortunate because you want to get along with these people. Fortunately, Venus will save you by sweetening your words and helping you to see a win-win solution. (Especially about finances or something you own.)

If Your Birthday Is Today

Rapper Ice Cube (1969) shares your birthday today. You are easy-going. You have a fine mind and intellectual interests. You are gifted and multitalented, which can be entertaining for others. You are generous and philanthropical. Because this year is the last year of a nine-year cycle for you, it will be a time of wrapping up things and finishing projects.

Celtic Tree Month – Oak – June 10 to July 7, 2022

I am sorry this is so late. When looking at the start date of the month I looked at Julys’ instead of Junes’.

From Ireland-Calling.com

Oak tree from Ireland

Oak – king of the forest

Known as king of the forest for its strength and longevity, the oak is most sacred to the Druids and the word Druid comes from the Celtic word for oak ‘Duir’.

The Oak was revered by many cultures throughout Europe, including the Greeks who associated the tree with the king of the gods Zeus, the Vikings who linked the oak to Thor, the Norse god of thunder and protector of mankind and the Celts with their own god of thunder Taranis relating to the tree.

Lightning strikes

Perhaps it is no coincidence that all these gods, with power over the weather, had an association with the oak tree since the oak is the tree most prone to lightning strikes and when struck will continue to thrive.

Druids believed that when the magical and sacred plant mistletoe grew on an oak tree it had been placed there during a lightning strike and was the most powerful of all the mistletoe.

The Druids had a sacred ceremony for removing mistletoe from the blessed oak using a golden sickle.

This would commence shortly after the new moon following the winter solstice, which may well be a reason why mistletoe is connected to Christmas today.

Inspiration for poets and bards

According to some accounts, one of the five magic trees of Ireland, The Tree of Mugna, was thought to be a mighty oak tree.

This tree was the inspiration for poets and bards, who, in some legends, overturned the tree themselves to save it the humiliation of being cut down by Christian monks as a symbol of paganism, as the other magic trees were.

Duir, Dair, D – Duir is the seventh letter of the ogham alphabet and the seventh month in the Celtic tree calendar.

The Oak is thought to be connected to the movements of the planet Mars. When Mars travels close to the Earth it is believed to stimulate the roots of the oak and when far away, the sun promotes upward growth making the oak one of the largest, most powerful trees in the forest.

Many animals rely on the oak tree for food and shelter and, in turn, regeneration of oak trees partly relies on the help of animals such as forgetful squirrels who bury their acorns as a winter food supply in Autumn, often not remembering where they put them.

Strong oak is used for building

The wood of the oak is very strong and was used in construction of houses and boats, furniture, fencing, barrels, anything where strength was of importance.

Its use in these areas continues today. The bark was used to tan leather and mixed with the leaves was used as an antiseptic tonic for treating infections of the digestive tract, rashes, wounds and burns. When times were hard, acorns were ground down to make bread in replacement of grain.

Oldest Oak tree in USA – Charleston, S.C.

From LearnReligions.com – Celtic Tree Months

Oak Moon

The oak tree has long been venerated by people of many cultures as a symbol of strength and power.

The Oak moon falls during a time when the trees are beginning to reach their full blooming stages. The mighty Oak is strong, powerful, and typically towering over all of its neighbors. The Oak King rules over the summer months, and this tree was sacred to the Druids. The Celts called this month Duir, which some scholars believe to mean “door”, the root word of “Druid.” The Oak is connected with spells for protection and strength, fertility, money and success, and good fortune. Carry an acorn in your pocket when you go to an interview or business meeting; it will be bring you good luck. If you catch a falling Oak leaf before it hits the ground, you’ll stay healthy the following year.

Today is a Full-Moon day, which is something that you will feel because the Moon is your ruler. Go gently and take everything in your stride. Relations with others, especially creative, artistic people will be rewarding. You might see a way to help someone in need.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

This is a popular time for you; however, the Full Moon today might create some angst with a romantic partner or with your kids. This doesn’t have to be a big deal. Stay grounded, be sensible and be patient with others. It will be easy for you to please parents and bosses right now.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Today’s Full Moon can make you feel pulled between the demands of home and family versus the demands of your career or your reputation with your peers. Use whatever influence you have on your own or with people in power to help others who need help.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Tread carefully today because the Full Moon energy can create distractions, which lead to accidents. Naturally, this does not have to be the case if you are aware and mindful. Do something today to enrich your life and expand your horizons.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Financial matters, especially related to shared property, banking and debt might be resolved very soon following today’s Full Moon. Look for ways to use your resources or the resources of others to help people in need. (This will be gratifying for you.)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Today the only Full Moon in your sign all year is taking place. This can energize your emotions. However, it also means that problems that have been building up recently, can be resolved or at least, diminished. Very soon, you will feel you are getting a better handle on things.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Increased chaos and activity on the home front demand your attention. Fortunately, you’re keen to work and solve problems. After today’s Full Moon is over, life will flow more easily for you. Accept invitations to socialize. Romance looks promising!

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Be patient with your kids today and also be patient with romantic partners because tension from today’s Full Moon can stir up trouble. Instead, focus on entertaining at home or redecorating where you live because this will please you.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Venus will sweeten your words today, which is a good thing because today’s Full Moon tension might create domestic angst. Fortunately, this is brief. In fact, after today, life will flow more smoothly. Whew!

Some of the Witchcraft/Magickal Correspondence Digest for Tuesday

Tuesday

is associated with the planet Mars and the zodiac signs of both Aries and Scorpio, and although Scorpio is a water sign, this day is assigned the elemental correspondence of Fire. All of these factors lead to a favorable time for energy work, creativity, justice work, spells for assertion—even to the extent of aggression. This would be a great day for any social justice advocacy spells, or even a baneful working if the need calls for it. Also, summoning courage, strength and passion for yourself or someone else would be favorable on this day. Use the color orange for any candle magick. Gods/Goddesses: Mars, the God of War, gives this day that added confrontational vibe. He is a god who takes no crap from anyone. Channeling him to help you tap into the assertive aspect of yourself will be helpful, especially if you are a person who struggles with implementing boundaries. Angel: Raphael

Satellites Behind Pinnacles

Image Credit & Copyright: Joshua Rozells

Explanation: What are all those streaks across the background? Satellite trails. First, the foreground features picturesque rock mounds known as Pinnacles. Found in the Nambung National Park in Western Australia, these human-sized spires are made by unknown processes from ancient sea shells (limestone). Perhaps more eye-catching, though, is the sky behind. Created by low-Earth orbit satellites reflecting sunlight, all of these streaks were captured in less than two hours and digitally combined onto the single featured image, with the foreground taken consecutively by the same camera and from the same location. Most of the streaks were made by the developing Starlink constellation of communication satellites, but some are not. In general, the streaks are indicative of an increasing number of satellites nearly continuously visible above the Earth after dusk and before dawn. Understanding and removing the effects of satellite trails on images from Earth’s ground-based cameras and telescopes is now important not only for elegant astrophotography, but for humanity’s scientific understanding of the distant universe.

June full moon guide 2022: Feast your eyes on the ‘Strawberry Supermoon’

June’s full moon, known as the Strawberry Moon, will come the same day the moon reaches the closest point in its orbit around the Earth, called perigee, creating a “supermoon” on June 14 at 7:51 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time in New York (1152 UTC) according to the U.S. Naval Observatory.

For observers on the east coast of North and South America, the moon will be below the horizon when it is officially full, as the moon sets at 5:09 a.m. in New York, 6:21 a.m. in Miami, and 6:32 a.m. in Rio de Janeiro (all times are local).

The moon reaches perigee at 7:23 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on June 14 according to the sky-watching site In-the-sky.org. At perigee, the moon appears about 10 percent larger than average — a “supermoon.” On average the angular diameter of the moon is about 31 arcminutes — a bit more than half of one degree. One degree is about the size of a pinky finger held at arm’s length, and an arcminute is 1/60th of that. The “supermoon” is about 33.5 arcminutes. Even though the name sounds like it should be really large, it takes a very observant skywatcher to tell the difference.

The moon appears larger because its orbit is an ellipse rather than a perfect circle. At perigee, the moon will be 222,098 miles or 357,432 kilometers from Earth, per heavens-above.com calculations. The average distance between the moon and Earth is …
