Home Protection Powder: A Simple Spell Recipe

From spells8.com

Whether you just moved into a new home or you’ve been living in your home for a while, it is always a good idea to cast a protection spell over your space. This process doesn’t have to be elaborate or complicated. In fact, it generally involves about two steps: cleansing the space and then protecting it. Any other steps in the process are entirely optional and can add to the potency of your spell. If you are in search of a simple protection spell for your home, be sure to read this post to the very end!

Why bother about the energy of your home?

Believe it or not, the energy of your home can have an effect on your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. This energy usually accumulates over time, but certain factors can play a role in how quickly unpleasant energy settles into your spaces. For example, if you spend a lot of time in emotionally charged situations during the day, you may end up bringing some unpleasant energy home with you. This energy may accumulate faster than if you spent your days in more pleasant or neutral situations. Surrounding yourself with unpleasant energies could lead you to feeling drained, grouchy, and generally not spiritually well in your own home.

Energy can also accumulate due to other people in your life. This includes people you let into your home such as family, friends, and even employees, and people that don’t come into your home but still send their energy in your direction. Putting up a magical protective barrier around your home can help to protect against physical damage such as break-ins, storms, or similar. It can also help protect your home against magical or psychic attacks from others or keep a wandering spirit from making itself too comfortable.

Clearing your home of unpleasant energies and protecting it from external energetic forces is very simple. Keep reading for some tips to get you started.

Make a Connection

Whether you are an animist or not, spend some time in your space. Light some incense if you want, play some nice music, and meditate in the heart of your home. Close your eyes and focus on your surroundings. Your home knows what it needs. If you listen well enough, it will tell you.

Clearing it Out

Once you’ve made the decision to clear out the energy from your home, it’s time to get to work. But what does clearing a space even mean? Well, you are going to be removing all energy from the space. This process clears out the energy, both good, bad, and otherwise, to leave room to call in what you want. If it makes it easier, you can think of this as an energetic cleaning rather than a physical one, though the two may look similar and utilize similar tools. This is step one of a good home protection spell.

One of the easiest methods of clearing a space is to clear it as you clean it. Charge your cleaning supplies with your magickal intention. You can do this by holding them firmly or holding your hands over them and speaking your words of intention over them. This could sound something like, “As I physically clean my space, so too do my cleaning supplies clear my home of unwanted energies and entities.” Then you use them to physically clean your space. At the same time, the energy you put forward to charge your supplies will also magickally clear the space.

Another method of clearing your space would be through the use of smoke or sound. You can burn special incense or herbs that have cleansing properties. One popular herb to burn for cleansing is rosemary, but any that you find clearing will work just as well. If you can’t use smoke you can cleanse with sound through clapping or bells. You can also use homemade cleansing sprays, too.

Calling it In

Once you’ve cleared your space, you will want to call something in to fill it. This step is optional, but keep in mind that nature doesn’t like a vacuum and nothing is truly empty for long. Use this step to call in the energy you want in your home. This can be done by playing some calming music, burning some relaxing or joyful incense, or decorating your home with pleasant flowers. Again, this can all be customized to suit your needs and desires for your space.

Choose Your Ingredients

Once your space is cleared and you have called in the energy you want, now it’s time to protect that energy. We are going to be making a salt powder to be used at the thresholds of our home. For this step, be sure to have some salt on hand. Salt is a wonderful protective ingredient to use in your powders, and for this recipe, it is the base ingredient. Salt is good for repelling and absorbing negative energy, keeping the energy that crosses your threshold in line with your intentions.

Along with salt, here are some more ideas of protective herbs you can include in your recipe.

Rosemary

Vervain

Bay Leaf

Aloe

Black Salt

Simple Home Protection Spell

Recipe by Francisco Huanaco

This powder is designed to protect your home with good energy and keep it free from problems. Support the magickal maintenance of your home with this protection powder.

INGREDIENTS

  • Salt – absorbs and repels negative energy

  • Rosemary – for protection (can substitute other protective herbs)

  • Jar or Bowl – for mixing the ingredients together

DIRECTIONS

  • Get your Salt

Salt is protective and also repels negative energy. It is a good foundational ingredient for any witch to have and makes a simple base for our spell.
  • Get your Rosemary

Rosemary is an herb that is commonly used for protection. In this case, you can use dried rosemary, fresh rosemary, or even substitute with an essential oil or other protective herb.
  • Mix it Together

In your bowl, mix the salt and your protective herbs together. As you mix them, you can call on your guides, Gods, or other spirit allies to help you if you want. Stir in a clockwise motion to combine the ingredients as you say the following.
  • Sprinkle it Around

With your mantra or affirmation in mind, sprinkle the salt mixture along every threshold and entry into your home. Include all doors, windows, and walkways. You can even repeat the above incantation if you’d like, drawing on the energy of the salt mixture as you do so.

All Signs

This week is filled with positive energy and upbeat, productive vibes. For different reasons, many of us have felt stagnated. However, as we approach the Solar Eclipse on Saturday, there will be a sense of freedom and fresh exploration. In different ways and for different reasons, each of us will start to feel our energy flowing again. “I’m pumped!” This is something that has been long overdue. Mercury symbolizes our communications as well as our daily activities; and this week, it dances with lucky Jupiter as well as energetic Pluto. Things will be positive, productive and richer! (I know they say money isn’t the key to happiness but I figure with enough money, you can have a key made.)

Aries (March 21-April 19)

This is a wonderful week! Do get out of bed. For starters, in a vague, general way, you will have a warm feeling in your tummy because you’re happy to be in your own skin. This is because lovely Venus and lucky Jupiter are lined up in a hidden part of your chart, which sort of gives you a feeling that “everything’s alright.” Of course, we know there are terrible things happening somewhere in the world. But in your world, you’re on it. Life is good. Not only that, you have some serious productive, moneymaking ideas this week! You will either see new ways of earning money or new uses for something that you already own. Everyone’s impressed with your resourcefulness!

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

This week will be a powerful time for you because the Solar Eclipse on Saturday the 30th is taking place in your sign. Furthermore, the Sun is in your sign along with Mercury and Uranus; and Mercury will be energized by Pluto. (Too much techno talk?) The upshot of this is you will be empowered in terms of your own personal energy, and you will also have X-ray vision! You will easily see what goes on beneath the surface of events and everything around you. You can practically read people’s minds! Incidentally, this is why you will enjoy watching mysteries or reading whodunits. Note: Guard against being obsessed with things this week. Lighten up.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Two contradictory factors are at play for you this week. (How appropriate! One for each of the twins.) On one hand, you will prefer to be low-key, quiet and keep a low profile, because you value your privacy, and you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of your daily world. (“Enuff awreddy.”) However, on the other hand (you have different fingers), you’ll make a stellar impression on others! You look successful, charming and attractive to everyone. In fact, bosses, parents, teachers and the police are impressed with you because your success is obvious to everyone. Hmmm, for some, this attractive quality will trigger a romance with a boss.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

You’re popular this week! You will especially enjoy the company of younger people. One of the reasons they will be impressed with you is that you “get them”. You will have the ability to see who they are and understand what they want and need; and because of this, you can relate to them in a genuine way. You might help someone modify their future goals? Or the reverse might happen. Someone might help you modify your future goals? Meanwhile, travel for pleasure will delight. If possible, hop a jet or mortgage your house and take a road trip so you can watch those telephone poles going by. Romance with someone “different” might blossom.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

This week you will make people sit up and listen. There are two reasons: one is that the Sun at the top of your chart is casting you in a flattering spotlight so people actually admire you. Secondly, Mercury at the top of your chart is getting zapped by big daddy Pluto, which makes your speech convincing and forceful! Furthermore, it gives you the ability to see hidden influences and make strategic deductions. You might meet someone who is very powerful. Nevertheless, to put it mildly, your communications with others will be serious and profound. People will take notes. (Is Pittman shorthand but a dim memory now in history?) Meanwhile, gifts and goodies will come your way! Ka-ching!

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

This is a fortunate week for you because you want to travel! You want do different things and learn exciting information. You will entertain lofty ideas and have profound discussions. And — you are lucky because while the Sun gives you this desire and urge to do these things, Mercury (assisted by the energy of Pluto) will help you to dig beneath the surface and understand what makes things tick. Your mind will be attracted to the mystery of how everything works. You will even want a deeper understanding of what is going on inside of you! Meanwhile, relations with partners and close friends will be warm and loving. You have much to look forward to!

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

If you want to discover more about the of wealth your partner or learn more about someone’s assets – this is the week to ferret out this information. (Don’t leave home without your deerstalker.) The Sun and Mercury are in one of your Money Houses (specifically, the wealth of other people), and Pluto will give Mercury the powers of X-ray vision. In discussions about how to share an inheritance or divide property, you will be effective, possibly ruthless. Meanwhile, you have fabulous chances to improve your job or get a better job. You might also make your work station look more attractive. (These details are important to Libra. Who wants to work in a coal mine?)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

This week is about pleasure, socializing with others, enjoying playful activities with children, appreciating the arts, exploring the entertainment world and participating or watching sports. Grab every chance to get out and enjoy yourself! Likewise, grab every chance to express your talents and creative energy. Meanwhile, respect your need for sleep. You need more sleep right now. Many of you will have compelling, powerful discussions with partners and close friends. You might even attract someone to you who is super powerful. (“Hi Darth.”) Strive to find a balance between important negotiations with partners and close friends and enjoying the good things in life.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

You are high energy this week, and you’ll use this energy to work hard and get better organized. You’re keen to accomplish certain goals. In fact, you might surprise others by rolling up your sleeves and digging in hands-on! Meanwhile, certain issues about home and family need your attention. Caution because Mars can stir up trouble. You’re full of redecorating ideas and renovations, and shopping for your home. Does someone else want some input? You also want to entertain. It’s fortunate that since you have strong desires about what you want to do where you live – at the same time, you have the energy to put your plans in motion. Remember to work in cooperation with others.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

This is a playful, fun-loving time for you because the Sun is in your 5th House of amusements and recreation. Hey, you want to get out and have a good time! Relationships will be more lighthearted and fun-loving; and Mercury in this same place will make you prankish and playful! You want to use your mind for amusing past times, reading, writing and playing games that require mental agility. Sports and fun activities with kids will appeal. This is an excellent time for writers and artists because you will enjoy tapping into your creative talents. It’s also a blessed time for your sign because it’s easy for you to appreciate your surroundings and what you have in life, which makes everything so precious.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Family matters and issues at home are where it’s at this week. Discussions will be serious, possibly because family secrets are revealed. Perhaps you realize the subtext of a situation that has been going on for a while? (You will no longer be fooled.) Home repairs might be at the top of the list for many. All of these things will trigger discussions about how to get things done. Fortunately, your finances look solid! Some have found a better paying job or how to make more money in another way. Because you’re feeling flush, many are buying beautiful things for yourself and your loved ones. It’s handy to have a bit of cash when you want to make some changes at home. Count your blessings.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

This will be a fast-paced week full of fascinating diversions. Your mind will be interested in everything! You want to learn new things and mentally explore new turf because you practically have X-ray vision when it comes to seeing the motivations of others, and what goes on all around you. (It will be amusing as well as intriguing.) You will have many discussions with different people about a wide variety of subjects. You will also be convincing! Fortunately, with fair Venus and lucky Jupiter in your sign, you will be charming and appealing to everyone. This is an excellent week to buy wardrobe goodies for yourself. Get some physical exercise to blow off pent-up steam building within you because Mars is in your sign. Go, go, go!

Split the Universe

Image Credit: NASA, Erwin Schrödinger’s cat

Explanation: Just now, before you hit the button, two future universes are possible. After pressing the button, though, you will live in only one. A real-web version of the famous Schrödinger’s cat experiment clicking the red button in the featured astronaut image should transform that image into a picture of the same astronaut holding one of two cats — one living, or one dead. The timing of your click, combined with the wiring of your brain and the millisecond timing of your device, will all conspire together to create a result dominated, potentially, by the randomness of quantum mechanics. Some believe that your personally-initiated quantum decision will split the universe in two, and that both the live-cat and dead-cat universes exist in separate parts of a larger multiverse. Others believe that the result of your click will collapse the two possible universes into one — in a way that could not have been predicted beforehand. Yet others believe that the universe is classically deterministic, so that by pressing the button you did not really split the universe, but just carried out an action predestined since time began. We at APOD believe that however silly you may feel clicking the red button, and regardless of the outcome, you should have a thought-provoking day. Or two.

Moon Alert

Avoid shopping or important decision after 8 PM EDT today (5 Pm PDT). The Moon is in Aquarius.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

You might be at odds with someone, perhaps a group or even a friend about financial matters. Or this dispute could relate to your own possessions or something that you own. You might not settle this today. Be patient and wait for resolution.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Abraham Maslow said, “If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail.” This wise observation is relevant today because there’s a lot of Eyore thinking going on. The truth is, things are not as bad as they seem. Respect authority – just for today.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Bad news on the media might get to you today. Actually, sometimes it’s wise to take a break from the news. It’s good to be informed, but it’s also good to stay in a positive, healthy frame of mind. Avoid contentious subjects today because arguments will be tiresome.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

This is a poor day for a serious discussion about inheritances or how to divide or share something or how to deal with jointly-owned property because people will be entrenched in their point of view. Furthermore, negative thinking will prevail.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Be patient with partners and close friends today because people are more inclined to see why something can’t be done. instead of looking for ways that it can be done. It simply a point of view. One is pessimistic, while the other is hopeful and optimistic. Today pessimism is rampant.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Avoid controversial subjects today because these discussions will go south in a New York minute. People are negative thinking. They expect the worst. They refuse to see outside of the box. This heavy criticism can promote depression. Who needs this? Not you! Not anyone.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Don’t be upset about finances or something to do with inheritances, taxes and debt because things look worse than they are today. A particular astrological phenomenon makes us look on the dark side of life today. All we see are imperfections and flaws. Relax. If you believe in fairies clap your hands!

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Take the high road in discussions with partners and close friends today because it will be easy to fall into negativity and criticism. Remember your long-term objective. Quite likely, you’re talking to a person who is important to you. Cherish this relationship. Don’t jeopardize it.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Be fair-minded and cooperative with work colleagues today because it’s easy to be critical. Dale Carnegie said, “Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain but it takes character and self-control to be understanding and forgiving.” Avoid the naysayers who will bring you down.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Parents must resist the urge to criticize their kids today. Likewise, romantic partners must also resist being critical. Goethe said, “Correction does much but encouragement does more.” This particularly applies to dealing with young minds. Chill out.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

In order to keep peace and harmony at home, resist your urge to speak negatively or to criticize someone. Don’t find reasons why things cannot be done. Instead explore reasons why things might be done. In truth, all kinds of things under the Sun can be tiny miracles.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Today it’s easy to be down on yourself. “I’m navel lint.” The fact is that you are a sign who is an idealist. In fact, a very sensitive, idealist. And when you are feeling negative about yourself, you feel victimized. “I’m never the one chosen” or “I’m always the last to know.” This is just a negative thinking.

“Hello Everyone,

Shortly after I had my brush with death in September of ’06 I started to “wake up again” and wondered about my life. I started to make friends with other people in metaphysics who helped me understand my true self.

I started to attend many lectures and met many mediums and channelers and mystics and healers. They told me some of the Spiritual Beings in my energy field. Many of them as well my friends told me “You have no idea how powerful you are”. Learning about these new Spiritual Beings made me feel like was like a kid in a metaphysical candy store. I was having so much fun! I also was learning the metaphysics of energy healing. It was so fascinating!

Then in 2010 I joined a Metaphysical Church and the leader was Reverend Debbie and on the third Sunday of each month she had healing Sundays. I was a part of the group and soon Reverend Debbie noticed my very powerful and yet soft energies and so did the other members and I started to do my own healings.

I was invited to many metaphysical gatherings because I was getting noticed in the metaphysical community and I started to do my healings by request but because I wasn’t certified at that time I just asked for a donation. Almost everyone told me that my left hand felt like a hot pad or that they felt like static electricity was coming from my hand.

It was also at this time I became a “student” of the Archangel Metatron channeled message teachings which was very profound because Metatron is very technical and complex but I was fascinated by what I read.

Some friends highly recommended that I go to my first Star Knowledge Conference founded by Chief Golden Light Eagle (Lakota Sioux) in November 2011 that changed my life. That was pure Indian energy and there were also several other Indian Chiefs and some Grandmothers too who were representatives of their own Nations. I quickly became friends with an Apache Grandmother and we exchanged phone numbers and she would call me or I would call her and we would talk for over an hour. Although she stopped going to Eagle’s conferences after 2014 we still kept in touch from time to time. I called her in the Spring of 2016 and she talked with her guides and they told her that I was of the White Wolf Clan and to take on the Spirit name White Wolf but Eagle does the naming in our family so I asked him for permission to start using that name and he liked it so he gave me permission. I asked him if I also needed the permission of the other Grandmothers and he said no so I thanked him for his permission. I really thought I knew a lot about metaphysics but when I got there I very quickly realized that I still had a lot more to learn and the energies were more powerful than anything I had experienced and I knew I had found my new spiritual family. Eagle came to Chicago twice in 2012 for lectures and I did lots of promotions for each lecture and just before Eagle’s 2012 conference in December I did a special favor for Eagle and just after the conference Eagle called me to invite me to a Lakota sweat lodge or what they call a purification ceremony and then I became a member of Eagle’s Star Knowledge Family and I am very honored by that.

In Native American teachings, the wolf is highly revered and considered a “medicine being” associated with courage, strength, loyalty and ancient wisdom. A white wolf or any white animal totem calls on us to open our hearts to the wild and to the sacredness of the earth with purity of thought so that we can heal our personal and collective wounds. A White Wolf in Native American teachings would therefore represent higher thoughts, purity and cleansing of spirit.

I discovered that I also have Metatron and other very powerful Spiritual Beings in my vast energy field. I had a Deep Matrix energy healing by my friend Kathy Georgen back in June of 2018 and that was when my Sixth Dimensional Family introduced themselves to me with Kathy’s help. They started to give me some of their 6D energy but it was very intense so they only give me tiny packets which are much easier to handle. I am very honored to have my 6D family with me guiding me.

And in March of 2020 I was invited to attend a small gathering near Serpent Mound, Ohio from my friend Eagle to meet Anna the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull. So now I have Anna in my energy field. Anna is a very powerful and enlightened spiritual being and I am very honored to have her in my vast energy field.

I call my energy quantum because I am in the quantum consciousness or extremely high level of awareness and because of the extremely powerful healing energy I have.”

Deosil and Withershins

When casting, dancing or chanting in a circle for ritual purposes. Wiccans refer to the direction described as either “deosil” or “Withershins.”  When “deosil” (comes from the Irish Gaelic meaning, “turn to the right) is specified, this means clockwise, the direction in which the Sun apparently moves in the Northern Hemisphere, and in which circles are usually cast for positive magick. “Withershins” (or widdershins”) whose roots are embedded in the German words wider (“against”) and Sinn (‘sense’), means counterclockwise, and this is the banishing direction used for negative magick.

Moon Alert

After 2:30 AM EDT today, there are no restrictions to shopping or important decisions today. The Moon is in Aquarius.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

A friend might surprise you today. Or perhaps, you will meet someone who is unusual or different in some way. This could be an enlightening encounter – or at the very least, entertaining. This person might say something to encourage your financial independence. Nevertheless: Don’t be impulsive. Think before you act.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Quite likely, a boss, parent or someone in a position of authority (including the police) might catch you off guard today. (“Busted!”) Forewarned is forearmed. This is definitely the day to toe the line and not test the limits of authority, even if you want to do so. Don’t give into feelings of rebellion.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

A sudden opportunity to travel might fall in your lap today. Likewise, you might have an unexpected chance to explore further education through a course or training or some kind of apprentice program. Surprises related to publishing, medicine and the law are also likely. If an opportunity does arise – act quickly because your window will be brief.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Double check details with banking and financial matters because something unexpected could impact these areas for you. Whatever occurs will require fast attention. It might also be something you did not see coming. You snooze, you lose.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

A partner or close friend might throw you a curveball today. They might say or do something you didn’t expect. Perhaps they want more freedom in the relationship? Alternatively, you might meet someone, even in the general public, who is unusual.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

A few surprises will very likely change your work routine today. Computer glitches, staff shortages, late deliveries, power outages – these disturbances could be anything. Pet owners should keep an eye on their pet today to avoid accidents or mishaps. Meanwhile, you feel rebellious. Don’t quit your day job.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Parents should know that this is an accident-prone day for their kids. Meanwhile, social plans might suddenly change. Something could be cancelled; or alternatively, you might receive a surprise invitation to go somewhere? Whatever happens – act quickly.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Your home routine will very likely change in some way today. Small appliances might break down or minor breakages could occur. Someone unexpected might knock at your door. Basically, you have to expect the unexpected, which means – get dressed. Oh yes, be prepared.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

This is a mildly accident-prone day for you so pay attention to everything you say and do. Guard against knee-jerk reactions or impulsive decisions because you will be tempted to do this. When in doubt, give yourself a chance to give something a sober second thought.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Keep an eye on your money and your possessions today because something unexpected could impact them. For example, you might find money or you might lose money. Likewise, be wise and protect what you own against loss or theft or damage. This way, you’ll have no regrets.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Be careful not to jump to hasty conclusions today because it’s easy to do this. In part this is because you feel independent and rebellious. If someone suggests something you will be inclined to do the exact opposite. Basically, you are also craving excitement. Stay chill.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

This is a restless day for you because in one way, you want to keep a low profile; and yet in another way, you want something exciting to happen. This feeling might make you feel very liberated or it might even be a tad nerve-racking. Stay frosty.

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actor Dev Patel (1990) shares your birthday today. You are bright, clever, talented and forever youthful. You have an excellent sense of humour and enjoy a friendly rapport with others, especially relatives because you have strong family values. This year is about family, service to others and taking care of yourself. Take a class. Explore art. Do a makeover.

Messier 104

Image Credit: NASAESAHubble Legacy Archive;
Processing & Copyright: Ignacio Diaz Bobillo

Explanation: A gorgeous spiral galaxy, Messier 104 is famous for its nearly edge-on profile featuring a broad ring of obscuring dust lanes. Seen in silhouette against an extensive central bulge of stars, the swath of cosmic dust lends a broad brimmed hat-like appearance to the galaxy suggesting a more popular moniker, the Sombrero Galaxy. This sharp view of the well-known galaxy was made from over 10 hours of Hubble Space Telescope image data, processed to bring out faint details often lost in the overwhelming glare of M104’s bright central bulge. Also known as NGC 4594, the Sombrero galaxy can be seen across the spectrum, and is host to a central supermassive black hole. About 50,000 light-years across and 28 million light-years away, M104 is one of the largest galaxies at the southern edge of the Virgo Galaxy Cluster. Still, the spiky foreground stars in this field of view lie well within our own Milky Way.

A Laugh for Today

Wishing you all a bit of laughter in your life every day.

For Your Listening PLeasure – Samhain

Samhain

A Thought for Today

As followers of a pagan tradition, we strive to get better in touch with the natural world around us. Which to me means we live “Earth Day” 24 hours 7 days a week 365 days a year not just one day out of every year. The Earth Goddess goes by many different names, The Great Mother, Mother Earth, Gaia just to name a few, so what you choose to call her stems from the tradition you follow or your own personal connection with her. But it all boils down to one thing she is the Goddess that gives us life and provides for us all the years and lifetimes we spend living on her. Is it right for society as a whole to disrespect her every hour of every day? Do we do not owe it to her to watch over her every day?

I live in the United States of Ameria and am disgusted at the way people will not walk even two feet to throw something in a trash receptacle but instead throw whatever on the ground. Or throw trash and cigarette butts out the window of a car to let the wind carry it to the curb or out into an open field. I am proud to say that I was taught and taught my children who taught their children to always leave a place no matter where it is cleaner than what we found it. I walk my two magickal companions two to three times every day, no matter where I might be living, and always pick up whatever trash others have so carelessly left in inappropriate places. I just take a plastic shopping bag with me (thankfully I can start using reusable bags for all my shopping again) and one throw away glove to pick up the trash and have a place to put it until I get home and put it in my trash can. This is something I also have done with my children and grandchildren. Where I live now there is an old railway tracks to the south of me next to an undeveloped lot and even though there are only about a dozen houses, one very small business, a school bus parking lot, and a private school in the area the amount of trash that blows into the bushes and trees along the tracks per week amazes me. I really do not understand how people can be so careless and disrespect of the only place humans and all the animals have to live on.

A little trivia for you – a cigarette filter ingested by any bird or small animal can cause its death. The filter swells up in the stomach and cannot be passed through the digestive system therefore sentencing whatever ingested it to a slow death through starvation.

I am a smoker so what I do when outdoors walking or without an ashtray at hand is roll the part of the cigarette with tobacco in it until it falls out, this will go back to the Earth Goddess, and stick the filter part in a pocket or keep it in my hand until I can dispose of it properly.

Another bit of trivia – It has now been scientifically proven that humans have microscope bit of plastic in our blood.

A simple meditation to bring us closer to the Earth Goddess:

This should be done outdoors whenever possible or if you cannot go outside or next to a window with some type of live plant you can at least put a finger onto the dirt that gives it life. Have a medium to large drink of water with you.

Take 3 or more deep breathes to center yourself for the mediation. Then keep your breathing at a steady rhythm. (If you start to lose your relaxed meditative state of mind concentrate on your breathing by saying in your mind, “Inhale…Exhale” until you once again can connect to the Earth Goddess)

Sit on the ground or floor. If you cannot sit on the ground or floor a chair with not a lot of padding will work also. Place your hands on the Earth Goddess directly or onto the dirt in the planter. Feel tentacles or roots growing down into the Earth Goddess from everywhere your body is touching her or the chair and planter.

Feel all the energy that is flowing through her and give her a bit of your own in thanksgiving for all she provides.

Listen to the sounds of nature that are around you – the birds singing, a flowing brook or other waterway, the wind, wildlife, ectara.

Imagine yourself as part of the air or water flowing with the rhythm of the energy you feel from the Earth Goddess.

Sit this way as long as you feel you want to.

When you are done thank her for what she has provided for you, your family, and the world at large. Pour some of your drink on to the ground or a tiny bit into the planter as an offering of thanks.

Take 3 deep breathes to help bring you back from the meditative state. Drink your water while still sitting where you meditated and continue listening to all the nature sounds around you until you feel like getting up. Then go about your day or evening but be more aware of everything around you that has in one way, or another been given to you by the Great Mother/Mother Earth/Gaia/ or whatever name you call her by.

I ask that you follow your heart to help make our Earth Goddess happier with the beings that live on her by picking up trash left by others and not littering yourself. Thank her daily for all she provides for us from her surface and what she has birthed for us from her body shelter, clothing, food, heat, electricity, ectara.  There is not one thing we use or touch that did not start with a raw material that came from the Earth Goddess.

Until we meet again blessed be dear sisters, brothers, and honored guests.

Planet Earth at Twilight

Image Credit: ISS Expedition 2 CrewGateway to Astronaut Photography of EarthNASA

Explanation: No sudden, sharp boundary marks the passage of day into night in this gorgeous view of ocean and clouds over our fair planet Earth. Instead, the shadow line or terminator is diffuse and shows the gradual transition to darkness we experience as twilight. With the Sun illuminating the scene from the right, the cloud tops reflect gently reddened sunlight filtered through the dusty troposphere, the lowest layer of the planet’s nurturing atmosphere. A clear high altitude layer, visible along the dayside’s upper edge, scatters blue sunlight and fades into the blackness of space. This picture was taken in June of 2001 from the International Space Station orbiting at an altitude of 211 nautical miles. Of course from home, you can check out the Earth Now.
