This Tarot Deck: Folklore
General Meaning: What has traditionally been known as the Devil card expresses the realm of the Taboo, the culturally rejected wildness and undigested shadow side that each of us carries in our subconscious. This shadow is actually at the core of our being, which we cannot get rid of and will never succeed in taming. From its earliest versions, which portrayed a vampire-demon, this card evoked the Church-fueled fear that a person could “lose their soul” to wild and passionate forces.
The image which emerged in the mid-1700’s gives us a more sophisticated rendition — that of the “scapegoated Goddess,” whose esoteric name is Baphomet. Volcanic reserves of passion and primal desire empower her efforts to overcome the pressure of stereotyped roles and experience true freedom of soul. Tavaglione’s highly evolved image (Stella deck) portrays the magical formula for harnessing and transmuting primal and obsessive emotions into transformative energies. As a part of the Gnostic message of Tarot, this fearsome passion and power must be reintegrated into the personality, to fuel the soul’s passage from mortal to immortal.
Good Monday Morning, my dear friends! How are you doing today? I hope your day is off to a good start. Ain’t the little guy in the pic cute as a bug? I love animals and can’t pass up pics of them.
I am at home and it is 2:00 in the morning. Ah, the peace and quiet, Ah, the pain. I laid down and my stitches in my arm woke me up hurting. I took a couple of pain pills and got bored waiting for them to kick in, lol! So dummy got on the computer. Smart, arm hurting, why not type? I am not the brightest light bulb in the pack, lol! Hey, maybe those pills are kicking in. I am getting goofy, well more goofier than usual.
I am going to run and get busy before this conversation gets totally out of hand, lol! I hope you are enjoying the split zone horoscopes. I also hope you noticed the top menu. No more digging for your dailies, just click U. S. or other zone and everything is right there. I figured that would be simpler for everyone, you won’t have to dig and hunt for your date’s horoscopes, tarot, runes, etc. Everything is right there at your fingertips. See I try to make your life as easy as possible. Easier on me too, lol! Well I am off and running now….
Have a super Monday and a fantastic week!

This spell is used to get rid of headaches and stress.
Items You Need:
Wand
Pentacle
Pillow
The Spell:
Unplug the phone, lock the doors and find a quiet place in the house to perform this spell. Tie the pentacle around your neck and sit with a pillow, close your eyes and take three deep breaths then with your eyes still closed, chant the following:
“Air I am,
Fire I am
Water, Earth
and Spirit I am.
Return to me.
Restore me.
So Mote It Be.”
Now touch the middle of your pentacle with your wand and hold it there until you feel the headache gone or the stress relieved.
Witch: Why have you stopped playing cards with my sister?
Wizard: Well would you play with someone who cheats all the time, is a poor loser and keeps tearing up the cards?
Witch: No I wouldn’t.
Wizard: No, well nor will she.
Your independence is highlighted today. It’s time to stand on your own two feet and forge forward, despite a perceived lack of support. You may find yourself starting a new project today, and the possibility of meeting someone new is strong. Guard against forgetfulness.
About the Number 1

This Tarot Deck: Golden Tarot
General Meaning: What is traditionally known as the Temperance card is a reference to the Soul. Classically female, she is mixing up a blend of subtle energies for the evolution of the personality. One key to interpreting this card can be found in its title, a play on the process of tempering metals in a forge.
Metals must undergo extremes of temperature, folding and pounding, but the end product is infinitely superior to impure ore mined from the earth. In this image, the soul volunteers the ego for a cleansing and healing experience which may turn the personality inside-out, but which brings out the gold hidden within the heart. (This card is entitled “Art” in the Crowley deck.)
You could feel an urge to clean up your immediate environment and get rid of things that no longer have a purpose. It’s a great day for problem solving and behind the scenes progress. Also a time for thanks; someone in your world is quietly in your corner.
About the Number 9

This Tarot Deck: Lord of the Rings
General Meaning: Traditionally, the card known as the Hanged Man usually indicates a lack of ability to help oneself through independent action. This energy is arrested and awaiting judgment. With this card, there is no avenue for the will to regain control until the situation has passed.
This represents a good time to be philosophical, to study and meditate upon the position you find yourself in, and form resolutions for the moment you become free again. Only those who possess wisdom, patience and optimism will be able to see through limitations, including possible humiliation, to grasp the inspiring lesson one can gain from such an experience.
29 Halegmonath
Day of Hestia Tamia
Color: Brown
Element: Fire
Altar: Like all rituals to Hestia, this ritual takes place in the kitchen and not the altar room. A fire should be lit at the main hearth, and fresh-baked bread spread upon the table. The tables should be laid with the preserved jars and cans and bottles of the harvest.
Offerings: Have in visitors, and feed them. Feed the hungry.
Daily Meal: Any correct food, eaten with outsiders.
Invocation to Hestia Tamia
Call: Hail, Hestia Tamia, Lady of the Pantry!
Response: Hail, Keeper of the Storehouse!
Call: Hail, Lady who counts each grain
That each of your charges may eat,
That there be no waste and no greed,
That there be no inequality in hunger.
Response: We must sacrifice to Hestia!
Call: This is the saying of our ancestors,
But they did not mean food thrown
Into flames, or rivers; this is not the way
Of the Lady of the Storehouse.
To sacrifice to Hestia is to put that food
In the bellies of others than yourselves.
To sacrifice to Hestia is to bring in strangers
From the cold and the wet, and offer them food
And drink, no matter how little you have.
To sacrifice to Hestia is to remember the Law
Of Hospitality, and how the Gods all love that Law,
And that the stranger most soiled and tattered
May be a vessel of the Gods in disguise.
Response: We must sacrifice to Hestia!
Call: For the counting of one’s resources
Is a holy act, sacred to Hestia Tamia
And her never-emptying pantry.
May our own pantry be as generous, Lady
Whose face is never shown
As she would rather be known by her deeds
And her gentle presence. Hail Hestia Tamia!
Response: Hail Hestia Tamia!
(The rest of the afternoon until Hesperis is spent tallying the stores in honor of Hestia.)
Surprise, Surprise we are up at the crack of dawn, lol! Well for me, it’s the crack of dawn. Remember I am the night owl. I think I went to bed about 3 a.m., and now up. I feel a nap coming on, lol!
I have something that I wanted to tell you. We are all up and working because we are going to double post today. What I mean by that, right after I get through doing today’s horoscopes, tarot, runes and etc., I will turn right around and post tomorrow’s. From now on, we will be running a day ahead in our postings. I am sure everyone will enjoy this. Now there will be no more daily horoscopes at twelve o’clock in the afternoon. You will have all that info waiting for you to read when you get ready.
There is a reason though for us changing our policy. We have had numerous, and I mean numerous, emails from our friends down under. Also from others that are a day ahead of us or in other time zones than the States. I have never thought about it but they all mentioned they loved following the blog, but…..they were reading everything that happened yesterday. We discussed it among ourselves and we decided that it would be a good idea to run a day ahead. Like I stated earlier, I believe people in the States would even enjoy that. I know I have had a few complaints because I can’t get up earlier. Well this takes care of that problem, lol! So to get this rolling, we have to have a day when we double post and this will get us on track. Today is the day we decided to do just that. I wanted to let everyone know what was going on and about our new publication changes. I think you will enjoy them. If you do, please let me know. If you don’t, let me know that too. You are not going to hurt my feelings because we publish this everyday for you to enjoy. If you aren’t enjoying our work, we want to know about it.
Now for all of you down under, I want you to spread the word about this little old group in Kentucky. OK! That goes for everyone else in all those different time zones too! Spread the word! Remember it is the WOTC’s goal to be the number one Pagan resource on the net! We need your help to do that. By doing so you are helping us spread the truth about our Religion and the Goddess and Her Love. So come on, spread the word, get those followers for us. Remember most of all, we love everyone of you. We are all part of one huge family that spans the whole wide world. And this is just my opinion but I think it is the greatest family on the planet. No matter if we are Witches, Wiccans, Druids or whatever, we are all on family. It is absolutely beautiful how we can all come together, you know it. With your help and the Goddess’ Love and Inspiration, we will bring Witchcraft back into the mainstream of today’s Religions.
Let’s get this show on the road! Have a Super, Fantastic weekend, my luvs!

‘Good fences make good neighbors’ but I say that using Feng Shui can make you an even better neighbor. But what if no matter how peaceful your home is, you still have to deal with that nasty next-door neighbor? Feng Shui says that if you live in an apartment and the problem comes from a neighbor living directly across from you, you could place one small mirror on your front door to reflect the neighbor’s negative energy right back to them. If the neighbor to your right is posing a problem, hanging a six-rod hollow wind chime on the right side of the outside of your front door will lift neighborly negativity away. If the nuisance neighbor lives on your left, position an image of a dragon or a healthy green plant on that same side. All of these cures are also applicable if you live in a house with negative neighbors. Home dwellers have the bonus of being able to use light cures to negate neighborly darkness. Light is considered an especially effective cure when attempting to stop nocturnal annoyances. Position a motion-detecting spotlight on the side of the house where the irritation comes from and shine some sense into those people. And then there’s the granddaddy of all Feng Shui bad neighbor cures. Place a large mouthed basin or half barrel of water between you and your neighbor. This water will absorb negative energies and soften relations between the two of you. Hey, stranger things have happened when using this cure. Like I said, good fences might make good neighbors, but Feng Shui helps make the bad ones go away.

You may feel a strong need for answers and knowledge. This could very well be a time of soul searching for you, and you might feel a bit lonely. Your head may be in the proverbial clouds, so exercise caution when dealing with mechanical items.
About the Number 7
Sitting in my family’s cabin,
Stitching away at cloth.
My brother’s play, my mother prays,
My father shines his gun.
Outside the wooden door,
Shouts ring out, the light of torches
Casting shadows like demons on our home.
There will be a hanging,
A witch was found in town.
Rope around her neck,
She was quiet, she was easily found.
Her craft was pure,
She practiced alone.
The towns women blamed her, with untrue curses
And screamed about Satan and hell.
She was my friend,
I, her mentor,
Even though we both practice the craft
I could not save her.
Later in the year,
Snow powdered the ground.
I sat in a clearing of snow,
Grinding herbs for my god.
Not the puritan’s god, never their god.
Hark! A twig snaps under a boot.
Turning my head into the biting wind,
A glove-clad hand grabbed my hair,
And dragged me through the ferns.
Soon a witch would burn.
He dragged me through town,
Tied me to a wooden pole,
And called out “Witch, Witch” for all.
People gathered,
Eyes wide with fear.
The man lit the fire,
My family solemn, never shedding any tears.
The flame reared up like an animal,
Hissed at my feet like a snake. My father, nor mother, ever called out my name.
I called out to the town’s folk.
My voice echoing through the air,
‘I will be born again. Wait.”
The flame licked at my hip, and swallowed me whole.
A birthmark now rests on that hip.
This is my new life.
You see me in your town,
Even in your classroom.
I’m born again, and I’ll burn nevermore.

Today is ‘World Tourism Day,’ a time to learn to travel with ease while also keeping the home fires stoked. Before leaving home be sure to tie nine or 18 inches of red thread, string, yarn or ribbon on the handles of every piece of luggage. This is a kind of cosmic crutch that makes sure that your bags get to your destination. And don’t forget to download an image of the Mystic Knot. This is a mystical travel companion that keeps your energies and your trip running smoothly. If you encounter challenges in your travels, simply take out this symbol, run the hand you write with over it three times in a clockwise direction and then unravel any unexpected issues. Placing a small statue or crystal figurine of a bear in the ‘Helpful People’ area of your home while you’re away will ensure that all flows like honey on the home front while you’re away. In Feng Shui the bear symbolizes masculine energies, so he is tasked with protecting your space with strength and courage. He is also regarded as a potent charm against any break-ins or potential robbery while you’re out of town. As a bonus, keeping an image of a bear in this space is also believed to strengthen good health for the male head of household, especially if he travels a lot. Lastly, don’t forget to put some salt out in the space you will be sleeping in when you are away. Placing some salt in an open container inside your room will absorb negative vibes left behind by the previous tenant. Do any or all of these travel cures the next time you see the world or just spend a weekend away.

This Tarot Deck: Connolly
General Meaning: The central theme of what is traditionally called the Wheel of Fortune card is cyclical change. The Wheel keeps on rolling, churning events in a ceaseless progression of ups and downs, either way freeing us from the past. No one can escape its cyclical action, which can feel somewhat terrifying — no matter whether we are rising or falling. When one is balanced on top there is a moment of crystal clarity, but the only part of the Wheel not going up and down is the hub, which is your eternal Self, the Source of Freedom.
Every one of us will occupy all the points on the wheel at some time or another. The cycle of the wheel is its lesson — and we can learn to take comfort in it (as we do when we celebrate our birthday). If you don’t like the look of things right now, just wait — things will change. Of course, if you do like the look of things right now, enjoy it while it lasts, because that will change too!
Elder’s Meditation of the Day – September 24
“Touch not the poisonous firewater that makes wise men turn to fools and robs the spirit of its vision.”
–Tecumseh, SHAWNEE
It’s not an accident that firewater is also called spirits. Firewater affects our judgments. The Great Spirit created a set of laws and principles by which we are to live our lives. When we have problems we should pray and ask for the wisdom of these laws. If instead we turn to liquor, our judgment will be affected. It is the decision and choice made under the influence of booze that causes us to be fools. We need to learn to lean on prayer and not on the spirits of alcohol.
Great Spirit, teach me to pray. Let not one drop of liquor touch my lips today.
