September 30th Moon Goddess’ Current Phase

From Moongiant.com

The Moon’s current phase for today and tonight is a Waning Crescent phase. In this phase the Moon’s illumination is growing smaller each day until the New Moon. During this part of the Moon cycle, the Moon is getting closer to the Sun as viewed from Earth and the night side of the Moon is facing the Earth with only a small edge of the Moon being illuminated. This phase is best viewed an hour or 2 before the sunrise and can be quite beautiful if you’re willing to get up early. It can also be a great time to see the features of the Moon’s surface. Along the edge where the illuminated portion meets the dark side, the craters and mountains cast long shadows making them easier to observe with a telescope or binoculars.

Visit the September 2021 Moon Phases Calendar to see all the daily moon phase for this month.

Today’s Waning Crescent Phase

The Waning Crescent on September 30 has an illumination of 36%. This is the percentage of the Moon illuminated by the Sun. The illumination is constantly changing and can vary up to 10% a day. On September 30 the Moon is 23.45 days old. This refers to how many days it has been since the last New Moon. It takes 29.53 days for the Moon to orbit the Earth and go through the lunar cycle of all 8 Moon phases.

The 8 Lunar Phases

There are 8 lunar phases the Moon goes through in its 29.53 days lunar cycle. The 4 major Moon phases are Full Moon, New Moon, First Quarter and Last Quarter. Between these major phases, there are 4 minor ones: the Waxing Crescent, Waxing Gibbous, Waning Gibbous and Waning Crescent. For more info on the Moon Cycle and on each phase check out Wikipedia Lunar Phase page.

Moon Alert

Caution: Avoid shopping or making important decisions from 10:30 AM to 9 PM EDT today (7:30 AM to 6 PM PDT). After that, the Moon moves from Cancer into Leo.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Be careful today because, this is an excellent day for financial negotiations because you might come out smelling like a rose. However, most of this day is a Moon Alert! (See above.) This is not good for important financial decisions. Yikes!

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

You are the financial wizard of the zodiac so do be aware of today’s challenge. Most of this day is a Moon Alert. This means restrict spending to food and gas and avoid important decisions. Nevertheless, another influence encourages doing business with bosses and VIPs. Tread carefully!

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Avoid important decisions today and restrict your spending to food and gas. (See Moon Alert above.) Be careful in decisions about work-related travel and working with coworkers because you might go overboard. Do your homework but wait until tomorrow to act.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

This is fantastic, creative day! If you work in the arts, the entertainment world or even the hospitality industry, you will come up with original, imaginative ideas. Make note of them. Write them down. After the Moon Alert is over, check them out. Meanwhile – socialize!

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

This is a great day to entertain at home and enjoy the company of others. You might be tempted to do a real-estate deal today because it seems too good to be true. Nevertheless, a Moon Alert is a very bad time to sign a paper or commit to any real-estate negotiations. Forewarned is forearmed.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

You have a fantastic way with words today, which is why you can sweettalk anyone. In fact, some of you will make money from your words. Nevertheless, be aware of the restrictions of the Moon Alert, which will apply for most of the day. (See above.)

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

You’re energetic because the Sun and Mars are in your sign. Furthermore, this is a fabulous money day for you. You can boost your earnings, and will enjoy spending money. However – most of this day is a Moon Alert, which is bad for shopping or important decisions. Be careful!

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

This is a fabulous day to entertain at home and enjoy the company of others. By all means, grab every opportunity to schmooze and relax. Check the Moon Alert and postpone shopping and important decisions until afterwards. Enjoy!

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

This is a popular time for you; however, you might enjoy some solitude today. It’s a perfect day to relax and pamper yourself. After all, you can’t be all things to all people all the time. Set aside some time today just for you. Be aware of the Moon Alert!

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

This is a lovely day to socialize with friends and groups. You will enjoy their company and vice versa, they will be glad to see your face. However, don’t volunteer for anything today. Postpone important decisions when talking to bosses and VIPs because of today’s Moon Alert.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Travel if you can and enjoy socializing with others. You make a great impression on bosses and important people today. (A romance might strike up for some.) Please be aware of the restrictions of today’s Moon Alert. See above.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

You might be focused on shared property and financial matters. You might also want to make travel plans. Nevertheless, most of today is a Moon Alert, which means it’s a poor day for important decisions or shopping (other than food and gas). Be careful!

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actor Eric Stoltz (1961) shares your birthday today. You are imaginative, playful and friendly. You have a strong personal code by which you live. Personally, you love your creature comforts and enjoy good times socializing with others. This year is a wonderful time for you because you are getting the recognition you well deserve – kudos, promotions or some kind of acknowledgement. Enjoy this. Bravo!

Information About Angel Numbers

Below are just a few of the websites that contain information about what Angel numbers are and how they are a part of our everyday life. If you would like to check out some other websites about Angel Numbers use this link for the general search I did on this topic.

What is an angel number?

From InformationSeries.com

Numbers have long been considered mysterious. The numbers have a unique power and have been considered to influence life and fortunes. There seem to be a lot of people studying numbers, including Plato and Pythagoras. This is so-called numerology. Pythagoras in particular argued that “numbers are all things” and thought that the essence of all things is in the numbers. I thought that the laws of numbers would tell us about a person’s life and even their fortunes.

Angel number is one such numerology. There are always angels around us. And the angel is telling us a message through numbers. Why don’t you come across the same strange numbers as car numbers, birthdays, receipt figures, IDs, and so on?

That is the message that the angel is trying to tell you. If you think so, you will feel somewhat mysterious and be captivated by mysterious things.

Angel Numbers

From thesecretofthetarot.com

Though we all have angels around us all of the time, our guardian angels do not always communicate with us in simple or clear ways that are easy to interpret and understand.

Most of the time, angelic guidance comes in mysterious signs and uncanny synchronistic occurrences that one must be in alignment with to understand.

Remember, angels are celestial beings who live in a realm that exists at a higher vibrational frequency than the physical world.

Being celestial messengers of our highest truth, God, or Source, angels are bound by the laws of God and therefore can not interfere with the events in our lives without our direct consent.

This is why our guardians have to send their guidance to us in signs and symbolic messages.

What Are Angel Numbers?

One of the most common and exciting ways that our angels send their guidance and wisdom is through the use of angel numbers.

Angel numbers are sequences of numbers that carry divine guidance by referring to specific numerological meanings.

In Numerology, the…

Angel Number Meanings!

From ask-angels.com

What are angel numbers?

Angel numbers are the recurring number sequences like 11:11, 333 and 444 that carry meaning and symbolism from the angels. In addition to offering a general validation that you have angels with you, the different number sequences all carry deeper specific guidance and meaning.

Believe it or not, seeing angel numbers is one of the most commonly experienced signs from the angelic realm.

This may sound surprising, but the truth of the matter is that Angelic guidance and assistance does not always appear as expected.

Yes, sometimes Angels will answer your prayers through direct intervention, triggering miraculous healing, providing clear word for word guidance, or aligning things in your life in a beautiful and synchronistic way.

Other times, and perhaps more often than not, the guidance and wisdom of angels appears more subtly.

Guidance from Angels can appear in the form of a dream, overhearing something said in passing, through an intuitive nudge, a flash of inspiration, or a repetitive feeling, thought, or idea.

Angels also love to send signs and signals that they are with you, and angel numbers just so happen to be one of the most common angel signs that appear.

Have you felt like certain numbers just keep following you around? It’s NOT Random!

Discover the significance of angel numbers and their meanings

By Numerology.com Staff

In Numerology, every number has a unique vibration and meaning. From our Life Path number to our Birth Day number to our house number, the vibrational frequencies of numbers hold powerful significance in our everyday lives. Because numbers are everywhere, our spirit guides use them to communicate with us. These divine signs have a special name: angel numbers.

If you’re not familiar with angel numbers, you may be asking yourself questions like: What are angel numbers? What do angel numbers mean? Why am I seeing angel numbers? Let’s explore the powerful messages these spiritual number sequences have for YOUR life…

What are angel numbers?

Simply put, angel numbers are repeating sequences of numbers that seem to show up everywhere you look! Have you ever felt like you look at license plates and always see 222, or do you keep looking at the clock exactly at 11:11? It may seem like a coincidence that you’ve been seeing the same number sequences over and over again, but these repeating numbers are actually angel numbers, and they hold a very powerful message that the universe thinks YOU need to hear.

Why do I keep seeing angel numbers?

Because your guardian angels are always looking out for you, they’ll keep showing you these numbers until the lesson gets through to you. Think of these numbers as your spirit guides jumping up and down, waving their arms at you and trying to get your attention. Chances are, the more you gloss over these angel numbers, the more frequently you’ll end up seeing them.

Ivy – symbol of strength and determination

From Ireland Calling

Ivy has many superstitions and beliefs attached to it.

Because it had the ability to form dense thickets in woodland, grow where other plants could not and block out the light from even the mighty oak, ivy was believed to be very powerful by the Druids, more powerful than its enemy, the vine and quite sinister.

Ivy tree in Celtic Mytholgy

The ivy and the vine have been seen as enemies since ancient times. This seems odd since the same Greek and Roman gods are associated with each.

Bacchus, god of wine

In Greek mythology ivy was sacred to Osiris and also associated with Dionysus. In Roman mythology Ivy was connected to Bacchus, the god of wine as it grew over his home land.

Bacchus is often portrayed wearing an ivy crown, perhaps because this was once thought to prevent intoxication. The poisonous berries of the ivy, when ground into a powder were also once believed to be a hangover cure.

The link between Bacchus and ivy was taken over to England where old English Taverns would display ivy above their doors indicating the high quality of their drinks.

The proverb ‘Good wine needs no bush’, meaning good wine speaks for itself, comes from this practice.

Gort, G – Ivy, a symbol of strength and determination to the Druids, is the twelfth letter of the ogham alphabet, gort, and the eleventh month in the Celtic tree calendar, representing September 30th to October 27th.

Protection from evil

In old Ireland ivy was thought to provide protection from evil when growing on or near to a dwelling.

However, if it should die or fall down then misfortune would fall upon those therein.

Ivy was often carried by young women for good luck and fertility. Used at weddings intertwined with holly, the ivy would symbolise fidelity and at Yule-tide, would bring peace to the household.

Ivy was also linked to inspiration and worn by poets in the form of a crown.

Gigantic Jet Lightning from Puerto Rico

Gigantic Jet Lightning from Puerto Rico
Video Credit & Copyright: Frankie LucenaExplanation: Have you ever seen a gigantic jet? They are extremely rare but tremendously powerful. Gigantic jets are a type of lightning discharge documented only this century that occur between some thunderstorms and the Earth’s ionosphere high above them. Pictured above is the middle and top of one such jet caught last week by a lightning and meteor camera from Puerto RicoUSA. The jet traversed perhaps 70 kilometers in just under one second. Gigantic jets are much different from regular cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-ground lightning. The bottoms of gigantic jets appear similar in appearance to another type cloud-to-above strike called blue jets, while the tops appear similar to upper-atmosphere red sprites. Although the mechanism and trigger that causes gigantic jets is a topic of research, it is clear that the jets reduce charge imbalance between different parts of Earth’s atmosphere. A good way to look for gigantic jets is to watch a powerful but distant thunderstorm from a clear location.

Night of the Perseids – September 28, 2021

Video Credit & Copyright: Vikas Chander & Dorje Angchuk; Music: Tea Time via PremiumBeatExplanation: Have you ever experienced a meteor shower? To help capture the wonder, a video was taken during the peak of the recent Perseid meteor shower above the Indian Astronomical Observatory in HanleIndia, high up in the Himalayan mountains. Night descends as the video begins, with the central plane of our Milky Way Galaxy approaching from the left and Earth-orbiting satellites zipping by overhead. During the night, the flash of meteors that usually takes less than a second is artificially extended. The green glow of most meteors is typically caused by vaporizing nickel. As the video continues, Orion rises and meteors flare above the 2-meter Himalayan Chandra Telescope and the seven barrels of the High Energy Gamma Ray Telescope (Hagar). The 2 minute 30 second movie ends with the Sun rising, preceded by a false dawn of zodiacal light.

Today the Moon will be in a Third Quarter phase. Sometimes called a Last Quarter Moon, this phase occurs roughly 3 weeks after the New Moon when the Moon is three quarter of the way through it’s orbit around the earth. If you live in the northern hemisphere the Moons left side will be illuminated and the right side will be dark. For those of you in the southern hemisphere it will be the opposite with the right side illuminated. On the day of the Third Quarter phase the Moon will rise around midnight on the eastern horizon and set in the west around noon the next day. In the days following the Third Quarter Phase the Moon’s illumination will decrees each day until the New Moon.

Unwrapped: Five Decade Old Lunar Selfie

Image Credit: NASAApollo 11Neil Armstrong; Processing: Michael Ranger

Each day a different image or photograph of our fascinating universe is featured, along with a brief explanation written by a professional astronomer.

Explanation:

Here is one of the most famous pictures from the Moon — but digitally reversed. Apollo 11 landed on the moon in 1969 and soon thereafter many pictures were taken, including an iconic picture of Buzz Aldrin taken by Neil Armstrong. The original image captured not only the magnificent desolation of an unfamiliar world, but Armstrong himself reflected in Aldrin’s curved visor. Enter modern digital technology. In the featured image, the spherical distortion from Aldrin’s helmet has been reversed. The result is the famous picture — but now featuring Armstrong himself from Aldrin’s perspective. Even so, since Armstrong took the picture, the image is effectively a five-decade old lunar selfie. The original visor reflection is shown on the left, while Earth hangs in the lunar sky on the upper right. A foil-wrapped leg of the Eagle lander is prominently visible. Preparations to return humans to the Moon in the next few years include the Artemis program, an international collaboration led by NASA.
