Planets of the Solar System

Image Credit & CopyrightAntonio Canaveras, Chiara Tronci, Giovanni Esposito, Giuseppe Conzo, Luciana Guariglia, (Gruppo Astrofili Palidoro)

Explanation: Simultaneous images from four cameras were combined to construct this atmospheric predawn skyscape. The cooperative astro-panorama captures all the planets of the Solar System, just before sunrise on June 24. That foggy morning found innermost planet Mercury close to the horizon but just visible against the twilight, below and left of brilliant Venus. Along with the waning crescent Moon, the other bright naked-eye planets, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn lie near the ecliptic, arcing up and to the right across the wide field of view. Binoculars would have been required to spot the much fainter planets Uranus and Neptune, though they also were along the ecliptic in the sky. In the foreground are excavations at an ancient Roman villa near Marina di San Nicola, Italy, planet Earth.

What Exactly Is The Purpose of Your Spell?

A spell is designed to initiate change on some level by shifting the balance of energy within a situation. The shift does simply occur in response to your wish for a change: there are certain stages through which you must pass. Let’s take a look at them.

The Basic Steps:

While every spell is different, most steps can be classified somewhere in the following:

  1. Establish your need or desire. There’s no point in doing a spell for the sake of doing a spell. That’s simply a waste of time and energy.
  2. Compose your spell. Take the time to think about your desired outcome, and what energies you wish to harness to help you achieve this outcome.
  3. Shift consciousness. In order to maximize your spellwork, you should ideally be in a spellcasting frame of mind. Author Lilith McLelland calls this being in “magick mode.” Our everyday, scattered, and busy brains aren’t very efficient at gathering energies, including them into a sleek, powerful spell, and releasing them toward a goal. Shifting consciousness allows you to attain a different state of mind, filtering out the surface noise and distractions in order to concentrate and focus on what you’re doing.
  4. Raise energy and release it toward your goal. This is the moment where spellcrafting becomes spellcasting. Spells are powered by the energies held by the components or ingredient you choose to use and by your own personal energy as well.
  5. Manifestation. Ideally, the final step is the achievement of your goal.

Spiral Galaxy NGC 6744

Image Credit & CopyrightBasudeb Chakrabarti, Telescope Live

Explanation: Beautiful spiral galaxy NGC 6744 is nearly 175,000 light-years across, larger than our own Milky Way. It lies some 30 million light-years distant in the southern constellation Pavo but appears as only a faint, extended object in small telescopes. We see the disk of the nearby island universe tilted towards our line of sight in this remarkably detailed galaxy portrait, a telescopic view that spans an area about the angular size of a full moon. In it, the giant galaxy’s elongated yellowish core is dominated by the light from old, cool stars. Beyond the core, grand spiral arms are filled with young blue star clusters and speckled with pinkish star forming regions. An extended arm sweeps past smaller satellite galaxy NGC 6744A at the lower right. NGC 6744’s galactic companion is reminiscent of the Milky Way’s satellite galaxy the Large Magellanic Cloud.

Filaprom on the Western Limb

Explanation: A solar filament is an enormous stream of incandescent plasma suspended above the active surface of the Sun by looping magnetic fields. Seen against the solar disk it looks dark only because it’s a little cooler, and so slightly dimmer, than the solar photosphere. Suspended above the solar limb the same structure looks bright when viewed against the blackness of space and is called a solar prominence. A filaprom would be both of course, a stream of magnetized plasma that crosses in front of the solar disk and extends beyond the Sun’s edge. In this hydrogen-alpha close-up of the Sun captured on June 22active region AR3038 is near the center of the frame. Active region AR3032 is seen at the far right, close to the Sun’s western limb. As AR3032 is carried by rotation toward the Sun’s visible edge, what was once a giant filament above it is now partly seen as a prominence, How big is AR3032’s filaprom? For scale planet Earth is shown near the top right corner.

In Heathenry, a formal ritual slaughter of livestock usually performed outdoors in honor of the Gods during very special occasions. The blood spilled may then be used in anointing and blessing of spaces and objects.

From Spells8.com

A communal event where animal sacrifice is used as an offering to a deity or god. Members of the ritual feast on the sacrifice in celebration. In today’s age, sacrificing a live animal is less common, there will be lots of good food and wine in its place.

Spell for Today – Spell to increase Spiritual Awareness

Spell to increase Spiritual Awareness

Tools needed:
Bowl of natural spring water
7 day Purple candle
Altar Fire (red) candle
Anointing Oil
Sandalwood Incense
Options: Rune symbols

On your altar, or your quiet and sacred place, take three deep breaths of air and begin to ground and center yourself. Light the altar candle and sandalwood incense. Ask the Lord and Lady to bless this spell with the highest good of all. Gently sprinkle the purple candle with some of the spring water, repeating:

“I cleanse thee oh ye magical tool in the name of the Lord and Lady, removing all negative and disharmonious energies casting them out into the ethers.”

Now, move the purple candle over the sandalwood incense repeating:

“I consecrate oh ye magickal tool in the name of the Lord and Lady, removing all negative and disharmonious energies casting them out into the ethers.”

Take the anointing oil in one hand and the purple candle in the other. Starting at the mid-point of the purple candle, moving UP in a docile [clockwise] and circular motion, anoint the candle and repeat three times:

“I anoint you in the name of the Lord and Lady as a magickal tool to be used in the aiding of my magick. I charge ye to increase my spiritual awareness that Love is the Key! Love is the Law!”

Now, starting at the mid-point again, moving DOWN in a docile and circular motion, anoint the candle and repeat three times again:

“I anoint you in the name of the Lord and Lady as a magickal tool to be used in the aiding of my magick. I charge ye to increase my spiritual awareness that Love is the Key! Love is the Law!”

Option: If you wish you may draw the appropriate rune symbols on the candle.

Lastly, repeat:

“As my will, so divine will be done. So mote it be! “

Spend of few moments quietly reflecting on the magick. Thank the Lord and Lady for their presence in your life. Use a candle snuffer to extinguish only the altar fire candle. Place the purple candle in a safe place as to not be disturbed. Allow it burn out completely. Every time you notice the purple candle burning, repeat quietly to yourself, LOVE is the Key! LOVE is the LAW!
