Good Day WOTC Family and Friends Here is a Thought for Today

It is such a beautiful day here that my inner child wants to run in a field of wildflowers but the grown-up me knows it will bring on an allergy attack. So, instead I will walk by the unused railroad tracks a few feet from my home and see what is blooming there. I woke up knowing I had a to-do list but part of it can wait until later in the day so I can enjoy this morning walking and taking in what Mother Earth/Gaia has to offer for all my senses including what some call the sixth sense.

I hope it is nice wherever you live, and you can take some time, no make some time, for taking in Mother Earth/Gaia’s gifts that tantalize your sense of smell, taste, touch, seeing, and hearing the beauty left on this planet. Do not for get your sixth sense to open up to what is offered metaphysically!.

Sacrificial altar among 13,000 relics unearthed at Sanxingdui archaeological site in China

A turtleshell-shaped box and a sacrificial altar are among a treasure trove of 13,000 relics dating back over 3,000 years discovered by archaeologists in southwest China.

The relics – many made of gold, bronze and jade – were unearthed in six sacrificial pits at the Sanxingdui archaeological site, near Chengdu, Chinese state media reported Monday, June 14, 2022.

Historians know relatively little about the Sanxingdui culture, which left behind no written records or human remains, though many believe it to be part of the ancient kingdom of Shu. It’s hoped the latest finds will shed light on the kingdom, which ruled in the western Sichuan basin along the upper stream of the Yangtze River until it was conquered in 316 BC.

A joint team of archaeologists from Sichuan Provincial Cultural Relics and Archaeology Research Institute, Peking University, Sichuan University and other research institutions have been excavating the six pits at the site since 2020.

In the most recent excavation, archeologists found 3,155 relatively intact relics, including more than 2,000 bronze wares and statues, China’s state news agency Xinhua reported.

New finds from the past

Researchers described a turtleshell-shaped box made of bronze and jade as among their more intriguing finds, saying it was the first time they had uncovered such an item.

“It would not be an exaggeration to say that the vessel is one of a kind, given its distinctive shape, fine craftsmanship and ingenious design. Although we do not know what this vessel was used for, we can assume that ancient people treasured it,” Li Haichao, a professor at Sichuan University, told Xinhua.

A bronze altar nearly 3-feet tall (0.9 meters) was also found in one of the pits, where people of the click here to read the rest of this article

Some Humor for Your Day

Good Day WOTC Family and Friends Here is a Thought for Today

Happy whimsical Wednesday everyone! I am sorry today’s posts are going up later than usual, but I was taking advantage of the cool morning temperatures to mow my backyard with a regular mower. We live on almost a 1/4 acer of land with a very small 4 room house that sits towards the front of it so needless to say it took me 2 days to get it all finish being the first cut I did this year. The very first cut we have someone come and do it because I would collapse if I tried mowing foot high grass with a regular lawn mower, but it is done now. A little bit more spring clean-up tomorrow morning and the yard is set for upkeep this summer. I cannot find the pictures I took to share of our beautiful yard, oh well lol. Anyway the posts are up now and the tomorrow posts will be done after I take a much-needed shower.

Remember to try to leave a patch of blooming clovers or something that flowers to grow wild in your yard for our Bee friends to have a place to eat and rest as they spread the pollen from almost every plant and flower that grows near you. Without bees we would not have the delicious vegetables and fruit we put on our tables.

Magpie

Creativity and Imagination

Magpies are attracted to unique objects, particularly if these objects are shiny. This resonates very well with your creative brain.

If you are an artist or a lover of literature, you will realize that you look at things from a different perspective from most people.

Witchcraft and Magic

In the olden days in Western cultures, witches wore long collared black dresses that somewhat resembles the magpie’s pied plumage.

It is also believed that witches used magpies to communicate with the dark creatures of the forest. This association makes people relate this bird to magic and the dark arts of wizardry.

The Unknowable, The God Odin

Empty is the end, empty is the beginning. Like the phoenix from the ashes it rises – from what we call fate. The surrender of control is the supreme challenge for a spiritual warrior. RING

This rune is also called Marriage, Relationship. But it doesn’t mean that this rune predicts wedding (although in some cases it is possible). More often the fallen rune Ring means an agreement, relation between people, friends or partners. It may concern work, contractual obligations, and concluded agreements.

Key words: marriage, agreement, exchange, universe, partnership, teamwork, agreement of the parties.

Amancholl

Amancholl has the phonetic value of Ae, and corresponds to the witch hazel—sometimes pine. However, it doesn’t refer to the common witch hazel in North America, but to the witch elm, whose British name is witch hazel. It’s also given various names such as Xi, Mor, and Peine. In Celtic lore, the elm is associated with the underworld, though modern interpretation links it to cleansing and purification.

Hexagram Twenty – Three/23

Po / Splitting Apart

The weight of the Mountain presses down upon a weak foundation of Earth:
The Superior Person will use this time of oppression to attend to the needs of those less fortunate.

Any action would be ill-timed.
Stand fast.

SITUATION ANALYSIS:

This is a situation easily mistaken for Stagnation (Hexagram 12) or Revolution (Hexagram 49).
It just depends on which side you’re on.
During a time of Stagnation, human worms invade to feed on the decay.
During a time of Revolution, oppression is being overthrown.
But in this situation, oppressors are violently seizing power.
Pay special heed when you receive this hexagram, because the oracle is often warning you of a situation of which you are totally unaware.
You are about to be blindsided.

Numerology

From numeroscop.net

Two

Two, as one of the Core Numbers, is an Axis of Symmetry, a point of equilibrium which provides peace to your inner world. Any disturbance of this condition you perceive as a direct threat to life and well-being. It provokes you to action with the main goal of the restoration of order and harmony in the world.Intuitive confidence in the rationality and justice of the world order makes you stick to the view that all the troubles come from the people’s inability to hear and understand each other. Therefore you voluntarily assume the responsibility of a peacemaker.

Positive qualities

The list of positive qualities of the Two fully matches the list of canonical human virtues. They are good nature, peacefulness, generosity, ethic and tact based on intuition, insight and understanding of the human soul.

Add romantic, artistic nature and an exceptional sense of beauty here, and you get a genuine Masterpiece. One can only regret that it is almost impossible to have this figure in all numbers of the numerological core, and that people whose positive qualities completely supersede all the negative ones simply don’t exist.

One should clearly see the borderline between diplomacy and commitment to the peaceful coexistence, and compliance and timidity.

Goddesses and Gods – 7 Ancient Pagan Gods We Still Love Today

The old pagan gods—those legendary figures out of Norse, Greek, Roman, and many more belief systems—are fascinating subjects. These gods had all of the emotional fallibility of human beings, yet the all the power of the gods they were, and in their stories, they proved capable of shocking levels of pettiness, jealously, and downright cruelty. They were also, however, capable of great kindness, heroism, and justice, making for a set of truly interesting characters. They were us, but moreso.

It’s no wonder, then, that many of these gods that featured in stories thousands of years ago are still prominent in our contemporary fiction. We see them in our superheroes and action stars, who can be thought of as the great grandchildren of the original pagan gods.

But those gods that have survived the millennia with their names and stories intact are the ones we love the most—something about their personalities, their struggles, or their stories intrigues us. They’re the most compelling of them all, so let’s explore them by taking a look at 7 ancient pagan gods we still love today.

The Immortality of Entertainment

The fact that we’re still telling stories about these gods and goddesses thousands of years after their heyday is amazing, and these particular 7 beings have a special appeal that goes beyond the norm.

Maybe it’s because they’re powerful. Or perhaps it is because we wish we could affect the world like they do. But likeliest of all is that their larger-than-life personalities and stories simply allow us a glimpse of the extremes of life that few of us ever get to experience.

And that is why the gods will never die.

Color Associations and Symbolism

Color energies are useful in many ways. One of the most basic ways to use color symbolism in magick is to select candles of the color appropriate to your purpose. The power of color may be added at any point in rituals and spells to enhance the symbolism, and thus the power of the spell.Examples include:

Candles

Altar Cloth & Flowers

Fabric and components for Amulets, Talismans, Dream Pillows, etc.

Food coloring choices in Bath Salts.

Label/Container choices for brews, teas, essential oils etc.

Meditations on colors for reaching specific chakras, or areas for psychic development.

Garments for ceremonies or simply on days when you wish to attract (or deflect) certain energies.

Colored papers and inks for written spell work.

Awareness of colors you select in your decor and environment.

As with most things magickal, how you feel about the color and your aims is the most important guide. If a color feels right to use for a purpose, even if it is not listed here, use it! As shown in the varying and sometimes overlapping associations above, the power and meaning of colors varies somewhat form person to person.

Name: Sui.

Keyphrase: Following.

Formed By The Trigrams: Lake over Thunder.

General: Balancing the heart and mind of leadership will help assure steady progress.

Love: Show your partner what you require by example rather than words. be gentle with them.

Business: Hard work needs to be balanced by rest.

Personal: Plan for gradual progress and make sure that hard work is balanced by rest.

Overview: Sui indicates that you should lead by example rather than just telling everyone what to do. It indicates a time where gradual progress should be the plan and that work should be balanced with periods of rest. Effective leadership is about serving, not about power and ego. A leader has obligations to all those that work for him and this should not be overlooked. Learn the needs of those that follow you and if some of these needs need correcting then do so by gentle persuasion not by harsh words.

Goddesses and Gods – Greek Titans Theia, Goddess of Shining and

Greek Titans – Theia, goddess of shining

Theia (Thia, Thea, Euryphaessa) was a Titan goddess of shining, associated with shining light, shining metals or jewels. Her other name Euryphaessa means “wide-shining” and therefore she was connected with all that is shining. In Pindar’s Isthmian Odes, Theia is described as the goddess of shining after whom men honored gold as the most powerful shining object. She was also a goddess of sight, because ancient Greeks believed that eyes emitted beams of light which allowed them to see what they looked upon. She was one of the twelve titans and one of the six daughters of Uranus and Gaea. Theia was also, like her sisters Phoebe and Themis, associated with prophecies. She had a shrine in Thessaly.

The mother of the Sun, the Moon and the Dawn

Theia married her brother Hyperion (Titan god of light) and together they gave birth to Helios (the sun), Selene (the moon) and Eos (the dawn).

Helios – Titan god of sun dwelled in a golden palace, located at the far east of the earth. He was traveling from the east to the west during daytime with his golden chariot, drawn by four winged horses, and was wearing a radiant circle or aureole of the sun. During night-time he descended into a golden cup which carried him back to his golden palace.

Selene – Titan goddess of moon was depicted as a woman in chariot, drawn by a pair of winged steeds, and wearing a golden cloak. Her great love was a mortal man called Endymion who was granted immortality and eternal youth by Zeus and was placed in a state of eternal slumber near Mount Latmos where his bride came every night to consort with him.

Eos – Titan goddess of dawn who rose each day in the morning from the edge of Oceanus to overcome mists and shadows of the night with her golden rays. She was married to her cousin Astraeus(Titan god of dusk). However, she had fallen under a curse from Aphrodite and became, like her sister Selene, obsessed with young mortal men. Finally, she had chosen Tithonus, prince of Troy, to be her lover. She also asked Zeus for his immortality but forgot to ask for eternal youth and one day he shrivelled up by old age and babbled for eternity

Greek Titans – Iapetus, god of mortal life span

Iapetus (Japetus, the Piercer) was a Titan god of mortal life span or god of death. He presided over the timeline of all mortals. His nickname, “the piercer”, actually meant that he came for a life of mortals in terms of violence. In other words, when Iapetus decided that one’s time had passed, he brought violent death upon him. He was also known as a Pillar of west. Together with his other three brothers CoeusHyperion and Crius they presided as the Pillars of holding Heaven and Earth apart. He was one of six sons of Uranus and Gaea and is mentioned by Apollodorus as one of the five brothers, all but Oceanus, who participated in rebellion against Uranus and later attacked him. When they overcame him, the four brothers probably held him down while Cronus castrated him.

Titanomachy

After decapitating and dethroning their father Uranus, Iapetus stood by his brother Cronus who became a new ruler of the Cosmos. During golden age of the Titans he married his niece Clymene, a daughter of Oceanus and Tethys. Together they had four sons who overshadowed their father in a time of war and in later times of Olympians. There are, however, few statements by different authors which indicate that the role of Iapetus was very important and equate him with the role of Cronus. Homer himself states that Cronus and Iapetus were equal in power, while Nonnus and Valerius Flaccus state that in Titanomachy, at some point, Zeus fought with Iapetus and according to Valerius, who goes even further, it is said that Zeus became a ruler of Cosmos after winning the fierce battle with Iapetus.

When the war between Titans and Olympian gods had started, his sons were also mentioned to had played their part. Atlas and Menoetius sided with the Titans, while Prometheus and Epimetheus chose Olympians. Atlas is said to have become a leader of Titans in this war and caused Olympians more than few setbacks and his other brother Menoetius was said to be very vicious, brutally slaying allies of the Olympians until Zeus himself struck him down with his thunderbolt and sent him to Tartarus because of his mad presumption and exceeding pride. Prometheus and Epimetheus, although they had also played important part in the war, are also like their father very rarely or almost never mentioned in sources that are preserved. Instead they played important role after the war, with creation of men and animals.

Released from prison

When the war was over, Iapetus was sent to Tartarus where he was re-united with his brothers and many relatives. He was described by Homer as one of the more destructive titans who was seated beside Cronus in the depths of Tartarus. However, according to Aeschylus’ lost play , he was later released by Zeus from Tartarus with the rest of the titans.

Goddesses and Gods – Celtic – Medb – Legendary Queen of Ireland and Belenos – The Shining God

Celtic Goddess Medb – Legendary Queen of Ireland

The story of Queen Medb is one of Ireland’s greatest legends. This goddess in the flesh was fierce, seductive, beautiful, and most importantly powerful. No man could be king of Ireland’s ancient sites of Tara or Cruachan without first becoming her husband.

Table of Contents

Celtic God – Belenos The Shining God

A Celtic Deity, also known as Belen, Belenus, Belinus, Bellinus, Bélénos, Belennos, Belenos, Bel, Bilé: The Shining God

Belenos is unusual in Celtic belief, as this deity (under the various version of his name) is known throughout the Celtic world. He is also remembered in place names and personal names throughout the Celtic lands. His symbols are the horse an wheel and his name means ‘The Shining God’. He is one of the Celtic high gods, and is probably a solar deity.

Possibly one of the most widespread of all the Celtic deities he is known from Italy (Cis-Alpine Gaul), Gaul, Britain and Ireland.

In Britain the personal name Bellinus occurs at Binchester (Vinovia), County Durham a name derived from the god-form Belenus, the native Brythonic form of which would be Belenus. Traces of this name having been found at Maryport. To the continental Brython the Cult of Belenus possessed a particular status in that it is mentioned in a number of Classical Literary sources. Ausonius was a poet from Bordeaux, writing in the later 4th century AD and alludes to sanctuaries to Belenus in Aquitania. Tertullian talks of the cult of Belenus in the Norican Alps (Apologeticus 24,7); and Herodian mentions Belenus’ worship at Aquileia in North Italy (History of the Empire after Marcus,8,3.6). In Ireland Beli is known as Bilé and is referred to as ‘The Father of Gods and Men’.

The Celtic fire festival on the first of May, known as Beltane, (the fires of Bel) is probably derived from the name of this deity. Beltane fires were lit to encourage the sun’s warmth. These fires also had restorative properties and cattle were herded between them before being loosed on the new spring pastures. From this it is likely that Beli was a fire deity, a patron of flame and the sun’s restorative powers (which explains his classical association with Apollo). Originally he may have been a pastoral deity and in Cymric myth is associated with cattle, sheep and cropt. Though this may be because Beltane was the time that herds were moved to the high pastures.

His symbols were the horse (as shown, for example, by the clay horse figurine offerings at Belenos’ Sainte-Sabine shrine in Burgundy), and also the Wheel (as illustrated on the famous Gundestrup Cauldron).

The Irish Bilé is a god of death and husband to Dana. In the tale of Lludd and Llefelys, the folk memory of Beli represents him as Belen o Lŷn, son of Manogan and father to Lludd and Llefelys. Both Beli and Lludd lend their names to sites in London; Billingsgate and Ludgate, respecitvely. Beli’s name is also found in the name of one of the most notable Brythonic chieftains before the Roman invasion, Cunobelinos (or, in Brythonic, Cunobel), the hound of Bel.

In Gaulish mythology Belenus’ consort was the goddess Belisama.

It is unlikely, as some have suggested, that the Cymric deity Beli Mawr is etymologically related to Belenos, as though the migration of Brython to old and middle Cymric this is far more likely to yield the name Belen or Belyn. Indeed, this is the name which we see in the Cymric form (Cynfelen) of the Catuvellauni leader during the Claudian invasion of Britain, Cunobelinos (the hound of Belinos). Inded, the tribe name Catuvellauni itself means ‘The Host of Belinos’ and their most well-known leader Cassivellaunos’ name means ‘The Devotee of Belenos’. There is also the figure of ‘Belen o Leyn’ who figures in triad 62 0f the Trioedd Ynys Prydain and is preserved today in the place-name Tyddyn Belyn near Tudweilog on the Llŷn Peninsula ELlSG. Rather, Beli Mawr is more likely derived from the name of the Gaulish deity Bolgios.

Belenos’ name is derived from the reconstructed proto-Celtic elements *belo- (bright/shining), the deicific particle -n- and the masculine ending -os. Thus Belenos is ‘The Shining God’.

Flower Meaning, Symbolizes, and Spiritual Meaning – Spider Plant

Let me start this post with saying it was hard to find a spiritual meaning behind Spider Plants and I did the best that I could. Also, I have tried growing a few over the years and have never had a baby from one so, hopefully I can learn how to do this from the information on growing them that I found. Thank you to the reader who asked me about this plant a few months ago!

Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum)

Mindfulness and health

Great for: Someone moving away from home for the first time

Spider plants love bright indirect light and temperatures of 55–80º F. Water your spider plant well but be careful not to overwater. Their small size makes them a great apartment plant.

This is how mine usually look before I over water or something and kill the poor thing.
