Knight of Athames – Minor Arcana Court Card
This is s card of swift action, especially once one’s mind is made up. There is determination and an aggressive approach to getting something done, so the inherent warning is to look before leaping. Spur-of-the-moment enthusiasm and the excitement of embarking on a new objective could result in a lack of preparation or making a premature commitment without a solid understanding of what is involved. There a an element of impulsiveness and a sense of self-assuredness that could board on recklessness in pursuit of adventure. However, this card indicates a smart, eager, and courageous person who is goal-focused and has the capacity to succeed with determination and incisiveness. Sudden changes are possible, as well as the skill to solve one’s own problems. Impatience and a quick temper may hinder cooperation from others; however, this card indicates someone who is competent and able to take charge for a successful conclusion.
Peppermint for action, challenges, and accomplishment, grows wild along the track. A badger, a symbol of assertiveness, determination, and action, watches from one side of the track.
Meaning: Swift action, aggressive energy, self-assured, sudden changes, boldness, courage, ability, skill, incisive career activity, bravery, heroic action, quick implementation of ideas.

Oi/Oir
Oi, sometimes representing the Th sound, is Oir, the Spindle tree, which was used to make bobbins and pegs, as well as (obviously) spindles. This dainty little tree is misleading–while it looks delicate, it’s also very strong. The durability and strength of the wood made it useful for oxen-goads, which were used in ploughing. The white flowers and bright red autumn fruits, connect the Spindle tree to the hearth and home, as well as the bonds of kinfolk and clan.
Oir Correspondences
Mundane Aspects: When this symbol appears, focus on family honor. Remember that in addition to blood family members, we have people that we choose to invite into our hearts, our spiritual family members. Fulfill obligations you may have to people you love, whether you have been planning for or not. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, but ultimately, do what’s right for those who enjoy the hospitality of your hearth.
Magical Aspects: Work on developing a connection not only to the people in your clan, but in the greater spiritual community. Remember that differing tribes still have to work together for a common purpose, and that means someone has to assume the role of mediator when conflicts arise. If you’re active in the Pagan community, or in a specific group, this may fall to you.

Eight
The most misunderstood number in numerology.
The Numerology Meaning of the Number 8: BALANCE & POWER
In Numerology, both novices and professionals alike tend to focus on the “money and power” image of the 8. Often when a client requests a name change consultation, it’s because they want to add 8s to their chart with the mistaken belief it will bring them money and power.
It is true that the 8, more than any other number, emphasizes the areas of career, business, finances, and authority.
As with other single-digit numbers, the shape reflects its most important attribute; in the case of the 8 it signifies balance. The 8 is the great Karmic Equalizer, a force that creates just as efficiently as it destroys. When the 8 comes knocking, you can be assured you will reap what you’ve sown.
The 8 creates a balance between the material and spiritual worlds.
At its best, it is as spiritual as it is materialistic. The sacred side of the 8 is practical, rational, and intelligent. It knows the difference between make-believe and genuine realization.
On the material plane, it is focused on results – often in the form of money – yet it doesn’t care about acquiring wealth merely for the sake of being wealthy. It is not greedy; it sees money as a tool not an end-result. It is generous and willing to take risks.
As with all single-digit numbers, the 8 has a positive and a negative side.
One mystery of Numerology is that there is a small number of people who, from an early age on and for no discernible reason, seem to turn the opposite direction of what their charts indicate. “Seem” is the keyword here. This phenomenon is found with all numbers, but it appears to affect 8s more than others. There are quite a few people whose charts are dominated by 8s that become priests, missionaries, humanitarians, and so forth. However, even those selfless, loving individuals tend to be skilled in fundraising, money management, and authority.
