A Laugh for the New Year

Yes, I know in the Northern Hemisphere this is a day early, but it is already 2023 in the Southern Hemisphere. I want to get back to doing tomorrow posts for both hemispheres. What a better time to start than January 1st? With all the yearly posts and January monthly posts I have to do tomorrow I am trying to get both hemispheres done today. Starting January 2nd, I am also going to try to get back to having the posts go live at a specific time every day. I just have not picked the times yet…lol

Remember it is easier to set goals for 2023 than resolutions

Moon Alert

Avoid shopping or important decisions from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM EST today (4:30 AM to 9:30 AM PST). After that, the Moon moves from Aries into Taurus.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Today it’s easy to emotionally identify with your possessions, which is why you may be less willing to part with something or lend it to someone. You might also feel you have to defend yourself about something where there is really nothing at stake.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Today the Moon is in your sign, which will heighten your emotions. It will also create a greater need in you to belong to or relate to friends and loved ones today. The good news is that it tends to make you a little luckier than everybody else. Ask the universe for a favour.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

This is a random date in the calendar. You don’t have to go out and paint the town red. It’s alright to stay home and hunker down. The reason I say this is because you don’t really feel much like socializing today. That’s quite alright. Relax.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

A number of people are making a lot of demands on your time now. You’re busy with partners, close friends as well as groups, clubs and organizations. A female colleague might figure prominently in your plans today. Is this a time for a frank discussion?

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

For two days every month, the Moon is at the top of your chart bringing your focus to professional and business concerns. It calls attention to you. In fact, some people will be aware of personal details about your private life. Do you need to do some damage control?

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Today you have an urge for a change of scenery. You want a chance to do something different that’s adventurous and exciting! Tread carefully because several other things might create some difficulties. Don’t be too ambitious. Just take baby steps today.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

The placement of the Moon today will draw your attention to financial matters, inheritances, taxes, debt and shared property. Family discussions about old business, especially about property or home repairs are likely today. Go gently because people will be defensive. (It is what it is.)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

For two days every month, the Moon will sit opposite your sign. When this occurs, you have to go more than halfway when dealing with others. You have to be cooperative and ready to compromise. Today is one of those days. (No biggie.)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Today you will have to put your own emotional considerations second to the demands of someone else. You might have to work for someone or perform a service for them. Nevertheless, this can be a gratifying experience. When we show kindness to others, we like ourselves more.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Romance might be more meaningful for you today because the Moon is sitting in the part of your chart that has domain over romance, fun, social occasions and all things creative. You might also be involved with children more than usual today. If so, you might feel overprotective.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Today you will enjoy the luxury of retiring to some place so that you can feel private and enjoy your own solitude. It’s the perfect time to go off by yourself and do a little navel gazing. You might see how strongly your habits control your life.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

When talking to others today, you want a real connection with them. That’s why you will feel frustrated if the conversation is superficial. You want to get right down to the nitty-gritty of something and share it with someone. Real feelings. Real facts.

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actor Lance Reddick (1962) shares your birthday today. You are highly individualistic and always choose to walk to March to the beat of your own drum. You are friendly and value your relationships with others. Simplicity is the key to life this year. Take charge of your health. Physical exercise is important. Stay grounded and levelheaded.

December 31, 2022 Moon Goddess Current Phase

You can use this link to go forward or backward in time for Moon phase information. If you are curious, you can even find out what phase the Moon was in when you or anyone else was born.

From MoonGiant.com

The Moon’s current phase for today and tonight is a Waxing Gibbous phase. Visible through most of the night sky setting a few hours before sunrise. This phase is when the moon is more than 50% illuminated but not yet a Full Moon. The phase lasts about 7 days with the moon becoming more illuminated each day until the Full Moon. During a Waxing Gibbous the moon rises in the east in mid-afternoon and is high in the eastern sky at sunset. The word Gibbous first appeared in the 14th century and has its roots in the Latin word “gibbosus” meaning humpbacked.

Visit the December 2022 Moon Phases Calendar to see all the daily moon phase for this month.

Today’s Waxing Gibbous Phase

The Waxing Gibbous on December 31 has an illumination of 65%. This is the percentage of the Moon illuminated by the Sun. The illumination is constantly changing and can vary up to 10% a day. On December 31 the Moon is 8.8 days old. This refers to how many days it has been since the last New Moon. It takes 29.53 days for the Moon to orbit the Earth and go through the lunar cycle of all 8 Moon phases.

Benefits of Casting a New Year’s Eve Protection Spell, Tips for Making the Most of Your New Year’s Eve Protection Spell, and Common Mistakes to Avoid When Casting a New Year’s Eve Protection Spell

From eclecticwitchcraft.com

Benefits of Casting a New Year’s Eve Protection Spell

Casting a New Year’s Eve Protection Spell can provide many benefits. It can help to create a safe and secure environment for the coming year, allowing you to focus on your goals and dreams without fear or worry.

The spell also helps to purify and cleanse any negative energies that may be lingering from the past year, allowing you to start fresh in the new year.

Additionally, this spell can help to open up your intuition and raise your vibration, allowing you to better connect with the Universe and manifest your desires. Finally, this spell can help to protect you from any negative influences or energies that may be present in the coming year.

Tips for Making the Most of Your New Year’s Eve Protection Spell

Once you have cast your New Year’s Eve Protection Spell, there are a few tips to help you make the most of it:

  1. Take a few moments each day to visualize the protective shield of light surrounding you and your space.
  2. Speak aloud your intention for the spell each day, reinforcing its power.
  3. Carry a small piece of salt with you as a reminder of the protection that the spell provides.
  4. Spend time in nature to connect with the elements and draw on their energy for protection and renewal.
  5. Make sure to take time for self-care and relaxation, as this will help to keep your energy balanced and protected.
  6. Call upon planetary energies for additional protection and guidance. Planets that can offer energy and protection in the new year are Jupiter, Saturn, and the Moon.
  7. Finally, remember to thank the Universe or the gods for their protection and guidance.

By following these tips, you can make sure that your New Year’s Eve Protection Spell is working to its fullest potential.

Common Mistakes to Avoid When Casting a New Year’s Eve Protection Spell

When casting a New Year’s Eve Protection Spell, it is important to be mindful of the common mistakes that can occur. One of the most common mistakes is not setting a clear intention for the spell. Without an intention, the spell will lack focus and power.

There are times when it can be tempting to rush through the spell, but it is important to take your time and focus on each step. This will ensure that the spell is done correctly and with the right amount of energy.

Protection spells are very powerful, but if you do things that put you into a spiritually weak position, your protections can become fragile. Be sure to stay aligned with your highest self in what you do magically. If your highest self wouldn’t curse someone for stealing your parking spot, you probably shouldn’t either.

Finally, it is important to remember that protection spells are not a substitute for taking practical steps to protect yourself physically. While the spell can help to create a safe and secure environment, it is still important to take precautions such as locking your doors at night or avoiding dangerous situations.

By following these tips and avoiding common mistakes, you can ensure that your New Year’s Eve Protection Spell is effective and powerful.

  10. Take a few moments to visualize the water washing away all of your worries and fears, and replacing them with feelings of safety and security.
  11. When you are finished, blow out the candle and incense, and thank the elements for their assistance in this spell.
  12. Finally, take a few moments to reflect on what you have just done, and how it will help you in the coming year.

By casting this New Year’s Eve Protection Spell, you are setting yourself up for a safe and secure start to the new year.

How to Cast a New Year’s Eve Protection Spell

From eclecticwitchcraft.com

New Year’s Eve is a liminal time where the energies around us are more susceptible to change. As we look upon a new year full of possibilities and opportunities, it is important to start off the right way. Protecting ourselves, our family, and our space is something essential to do before we commence into the new year.

A New Year’s Eve Protection Spell can be a powerful tool to keep us safe and supported as we let go of the old year and prepare for the future.

Protection spells are powerful rituals that aim to safeguard oneself or one’s home from danger and harm. It is a fairly universal magical rite, often using symbols such as mirrors or images of guardian angels, to channel protective energies and ward off malicious intentions.

This type of spell often involves the use of charms, talismans and incantations; sacred objects like crystals, herbs and special tools may also be used to assist in the spell’s power.

Moon Alert

There are no restrictions to shopping or important decisions today. The Moon is in Aries.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

You’re in the mood to make some serious plans today, especially regarding practical matters that you want to put into action. Someone older or more experienced might have advice or a good suggestion for you. Of course, it never hurts to listen. Someone’s advice might help you put a new spin on things.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

This is an excellent day to study and learn something new. Behind the scenes research might reveal something valuable for you. Be open to suggestions from bosses, parents and people who might have more experience than you because this might be helpful.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

This is a good day to think about future travel plans and make practical decisions about travel or something to do with further education or training. Someone older from another country or a different culture might teach you something. Get ready to think about what is possible in your new year ahead.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Today you are high viz. perhaps because you’re dealing with shared property or issues about insurance or inheritances. This might involve an ex-partner or an old friend who is back on the scene again. Whatever you do today, you will be thrifty and careful. (As usual.)

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Today you feel a bit restless and eager for a change of scenery or something different. Possibly you will explore making future travel plans or getting further education or training? A discussion with a spouse, partner or close friend might make these plans a reality.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

You are in a playful mood, which is why social outings, the arts and the entertainment world will appeal to you today. You might also be interested in sports and playful times with children. It’s a good day to see what you can afford and what is actually feasible.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Today might want to hunker down at home and pull in your reins. Possibly a friend or someone close to you will encourage you to budget and be mindful of expenses. People are in a practical frame of mind today and more concerned with serious things.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Short trips, conversations with others and a chance to study or learn something new will appeal to you today. However, you are also in a serious frame of mind, which is why you want to get things done. You’re starting to think about your new year ahead.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Discussions with your kids or about your kids, especially regarding practical matters, might come up today. In part, this is because you’re focused on finances and cash flow. You want to stop overspending or going overboard. Smart move.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

A discussion with a parent or a female family member might yield practical results today that will please you. You might see more efficient and cheaper ways to run the household or deal with family expenses. You are one sign that hates waste. You like results for your efforts.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This is an excellent day to study or learn something new. Possibly a teacher or someone older or more experienced than you will have something to share that is valuable. Your impulse today will be to play things low-key and work alone or behind the scenes.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

You’ll be careful with money today. You’ve decided it’s time to budget and be sensible about your spending habits. You will also enjoy interactions with groups and friends, especially younger, creative people. This is a good day to think about practical goals for the coming year. You want to be realistic.

If Your Birthday Is Today

Basketball champ LeBron James (1984) shares your birthday today. You are optimistic, ambitious and determined. You are friendly; nevertheless, you keep to your agenda. This is the perfect year for you to socialize and enjoy life! Explore your creative talents. Let your guard down and loosen up a bit! Old friends might rekindle a friendship.

December 30, 2022 Moon Goddess Current Phase

You can use this link to go forward or backward in time for Moon phase information. If you are curious, you can even find out what phase the Moon was in when you or anyone else was born.

From MoonGiant.com

The Moon’s current phase for today and tonight is a First Quarter phase. This phase occurs roughly 7 days after the New Moon when the moon is one quarter of the way through its orbit around the earth. Exactly half the moon will be illuminated and half dark. On the day of the First Quarter phase the moon is high overhead at sunset and is visible until mid-night when it sets in the west. The First Quarter phase is a one-day event and in the following days enters a Waxing Gibbous phase becoming more illuminated each day until the Full Moon.

Visit the December 2022 Moon Phases Calendar to see all the daily moon phase for this month.

Today’s First Quarter Phase

The First Quarter on December 30 has an illumination of 55%. This is the percentage of the Moon illuminated by the Sun. The illumination is constantly changing and can vary up to 10% a day. On December 30 the Moon is 7.81 days old. This refers to how many days it has been since the last New Moon. It takes 29.53 days for the Moon to orbit the Earth and go through the lunar cycle of all 8 Moon phases.

Moon Alert

Before 5:45 AM EST today (2:45 AM PST) avoid shopping or making important decisions. After that, the Moon moves from Pisces into Aries.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

A lovely day! The Moon is in Aries, lined up with Jupiter in your sign. (It doesn’t get much better than this.) In addition, the Moon is also dancing beautifully with your ruler Mars. Naturally, you feel jubilant, confident and energetic! You rock!

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

This is a lovely day because you feel pleased with yourself. You feel reassured about your future, and possibly also reassured about your finances. You’re keen to travel and expand your horizons. (Ideally, travel someplace you have been before.)

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

This is a marvellous day to enjoy the company of others, especially female colleagues, plus groups and conferences because you will be in your element! You will enjoy talking to others. In turn, they will respond enthusiastically to your positive energy.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Your ruler is the Moon, and today the Moon is lined up with lucky Jupiter! Furthermore, this takes place at the top of your chart, which means others see you as successful and capable. Travel plans will appeal. You might also be excited about something going on behind the scenes.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Your desire to get a change of scenery is strong today, which is why you should do something different to shake up your world a little. If you can’t travel, go to a new restaurant, visit a new store, drive somewhere you have never been before. Get dressed!

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Financial negotiations will go well today. Fortunately, you are determined to go after what you want. This is an excellent day to ask for a loan or mortgage because doors will open for you. You might receive an inheritance, a gift or a favour from someone else.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

This is a great day to schmooze with friends, partners and even members of the general public. Whatever you do will “expand” your world in some way. Perhaps you will entertain at home because you have a strong focus on home and family at this time. Talk to people who are “different.”

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

This is an excellent day for work-related travel. It’s also a good day to work with groups related to your job. Classes, meetings and conferences will expand your mind and introduce you to new ideas. You might also lobby for a better budget or more equipment – and get it.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

A playful day! You are a breezy, lighthearted, fun-loving sign and today, you have a chance to spread your wings. The bottom line is you want to do exactly what you want. Enjoy sports events, the great outdoors, creative activities and playful times with children. Accept invitations to socialize!

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

This is a wonderful day to explore real-estate opportunities or shopping for your home or a family member. It’s also a great day to entertain at home. With the Sun, Mercury and Venus in your sign, you will easily get what you want. Group meetings at home will go well.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Trust your intuition today! (You are a highly intuitive anyhow.) Today, you find it easy to think like a winner. You expect the best for yourself and others. This is also a wonderful day to explore, learn new things, see new places and meet new people because you’re eager for adventure and new knowledge.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Business and commerce are favoured today. Trust your moneymaking ideas. You might work hard for money today, and see ways to boost your income. However, you might also spend big. Be careful.

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actor Ted Danson (1947) shares your birthday today. You have a serious side. You are thoughtful, responsible and reliable. Justice and fair play are important to you. You are also impossibly charming. This is a slower paced year, and time to rejuvenate yourself. Focus on your closest personal relationships. Concentrate on your needs and what brings you happiness.
