How To Make The Witch’s Bottle Friendship Spell
Spell timing:
- Waxing Moon or Full Moon
- Friday
- Hour of Venus
Ingredients:
- Sage or Palo Santo (to energetically cleanse all ingredients)
- 1 Glass Jar with a lid, sterilized
- Yellow paper (Yellow is the color of friendship.)
- 1 Black pen, or your favorite quill and ink
- Scissors
- Cauldron or fire-proof bowl, optional
- Pentacle Plate/Peyton, optional
- Tiger’s Eye, or 6 Tiger’s Eye pebbles
- 6 Coriander pods or powder (or any other friendship herbs you’d like)
- 3 Lemon Slices, sun dried
- 3 Drops of Preserved Lemon Juice
- 1 Yellow, Brown, or Pink Candle
Spell Instructions:
- Prepare your ritual space: Cleanse yourself with sage or palo santo, and use your favorite circle casting technique. Here is our favorite!
- Cleanse and consecrate: Using your sage and palo santo, cleanse each item that will be used in your friendship spell. Visualize each item surrounded with yellow light and know that each ingredient will bring new friends into your life.
- Visualize: Place the jar on your pentacle plate or altar, if not using a peyton. Visualize that as it fills, so shall your life fill with new, aligned friendship. Visualize yourself being happy.
- Write the traits of your new friend(s): Cut the yellow paper into strips. On each strip, write one exact trait or quality that you want your new friend(s) to have. As you write, say the quality out loud and visualize the friend you make with that quality. Important Note: Do NOT list a specific person. You’re calling the person who will be right and best for you, and it’s not always the person that you THINK you want.
- Add the traits to the jar: One at a time, pick up a trait/quality strip, say the trait out loud, visualize the friend you are calling having that trait, light the paper on fire, and let it burn to ash in your cauldron. Continue visualizing as it burns, then dump the ashes into your jar. If you’re not using a cauldron, you can simply fold the paper strip, unfold it to release the magick, and drop it into the jar. Note: If you are calling one friend, fold the paper once. If you’re calling multiple friends, fold the paper the number of times for each friend you’re calling.
- Add Lemon Seeds to grow the friendship: Drop in the lemon seeds, one at a time, and say, “Into this bottle, I drop this seed To manifest into my need. I wish that my number of friends will grow, Based on the qualities I’ve placed below. An’ it harm none, so mote it be.”
- Add Tiger’s Eye to call only true friendship: Drop the tiger’s eye into the jar and say, “Tiger’s Eye to keep away false friends, And allow me to see the friends who will be loyal ‘til the end. An’ it harm none, so mote it be.”
- Add Coriander to invoke the true love of friendship: Drop or sprinkle in the coriander and say, “Coriander to invoke sisterly/brotherly love, Sisterly/brotherly love that my life has been void of. An’ it harm none, so mote it be.”
- Add Dried Lemon Slices to promote long-term growth of the friendship from seed: Place the dried lemon slices on top of the contents of the jar and with each addition say, “A lemon slice, the color yellow, Placed into this bottle to show Just how much the fruit called our friendship will grow. An’ it harm none, so mote it be.”
- Add Preserved Lemon Juice to preserve the friendship: Drop three drops of preserved lemon juice from the refrigerated bottle into the jar, and say: “Refrigerated lemon juice, meant to preserve, Serve the purpose you were meant to serve. Preserve this friendship, every little drop, Let us remain good friends until time stops. An’ it harm none, so mote it be.”
- Seal the spell: Place the lid on the jar, and using the colored wax, seal it. As you finish sealing the lid, say: “An’ it harm none, so mote it be.”
- Visualize and release: Visualize a great friendship while seeing a yellow or pink light around the bottle. Know the spell is done, and it is.

Witch Trials in the 21st Century
The most famous witch trial in history happened in Salem, Massachusetts, during the winter and spring of 1692-1693. When it was all over, 141 suspects, both men and women, were tried as witches. Nineteen were executed by hanging. One was pressed to death by heavy stones.
However, witch trials are not a thing of the past. Indeed, charges of witchcraft and trials of suspected witches are increasing.
Witchcraft
The word witchcraft has good and bad meanings in different cultures around the world. A general definition of witchcraft is the changing of everyday events using supernatural or magical forces.
Witchcraft is usually associated with the power of nature, such as medicinal and poisonous plants, or rains and floods. People accused of witchcraft are said to be able to control natural events such as storms or droughts.
So-called “witch doctors” use combinations of plants and animals, as well as spirituality or supernatural ability, to treat medical conditions. These “witch doctors” are not accused of being witches themselves—they heal illnesses and ailments blamed on witchcraft. “Witch doctor” is often a derogatory term for a traditional healer. Traditional healers, who rely on ancient remedies, are not witch doctors.
Unlike traditional healers, witch doctors use spells. Spells are words or phrases that are suspected of having magical powers. Casting a spell to be wealthy or lucky in love is an example of witchcraft.

May’s Full Flower Moon
May is most notable for being the turning point in the year where temperatures rise and a vast variety of flowers come into full bloom, letting the world break out into a riot of color. As such, May’s full moon has come to be known as the Full Flower Moon. The Anishnaabe tribe also called it the Blossom Moon. In Northern America, you can expect to see flowers such as bluebells, sundrops, violets, and so on, as well as lush greenery to go with the blossoms. The Apache and Lakota peoples named May’s full moon the Green Leaves Moon, while the Mohawk tribe called it the Big Leaf Moon. But there is one specific plant that’s very important during the May season – and it is, in fact, not a flower.
This plant is corn, an important staple food for Northern American peoples. According to the Algonquin tribes, May’s full moon is the Corn Planting Moon. For Native American tribes, this is the perfect time for them to start preparing the fields for farming and sowing the seeds saved up from last year. Appropriately, the Abenaki culture refers to May’s full moon as the Field Maker Moon, while the Haida tribe calls it the Food Gathering Moon. Apart from corn, other foods such as beans, squash, and potatoes are planted during this time. The Cherokee tribe called May’s full moon the Anisguti Moon, or the Planting Moon, and would traditionally perform a Corn Dance during this period to encourage a fruitful corn harvest.
Due to the rising temperatures, the Full Flower Moon is also a time of heightened fertility. This is a good time for women to bear children in a warm, safe environment that would increase the chance of their survival. That’s why May’s full moon is also named Mother’s Moon, or Milk Moon, which could refer to breastfeeding or to the milking of cows. The latter interpretation is based off the Old English name Rimilcemona, or the Month of Three Milkings, referring to how this was a period where cows could be milked up to three times daily.
In other parts of the world, the Full Flower Moon is better known as Vesak or Buddha Day, the most significant celebration for Buddhists all around the world. On the first full moon of May, Buddhists commemorate the birth, enlightenment, and passing of the Buddha. Devout practitioners are encouraged to renew their intention to adhere to sacred Buddhist principles, as well as refrain from all forms of killing and violence, including eating meat. Celebrations include giving charity to the poor, disabled, and otherwise marginalized groups in society. Depending on your location, you may witness the spectacular practice of releasing thousands of caged birds into the air as a symbolic gesture of liberation, though this tradition is illegal in countries such as Singapore because it may cause harm to local ecosystems.
Pagans, on the other hand, associate the Full Flower Moon with the element of fire, and thus often celebrate it by lighting bonfires and engaging in other magical fire rituals to bring prosperity. Powerful colors for the Full Flower Moon include fiery colors like red, yellow, and orange. This is a good time to tend your garden and let the seeds you’ve planted blossom – both literally and metaphorically. Cultivate your passions and desires, encourage them to burst forth into bloom, and you will be rewarded with abundance in various forms in your life.

The Moon’s current phase for today and tonight is a Last Quarter phase. This phase occurs roughly 3 weeks after the New Moon when the Moon is three quarter of the way through it’s orbit around the earth. If you live in the northern hemisphere the Moons left side will be illuminated and the right side will be dark. For those of you in the southern hemisphere it will be the opposite with the right side illuminated. Also called a Third Quarter phase, it will rise around midnight on the eastern horizon and set in the west around noon the next day. In this phase the Moon’s illumination is growing smaller each day until the New Moon. During this part of the Moon cycle, the Moon is getting closer to the Sun as viewed from Earth and the night side of the Moon is facing the Earth with only a small edge of the Moon being illuminated. It can also be a great time to see the features of the Moon’s surface. Along the edge where the illuminated portion meets the dark side, the craters and mountains cast long shadows making them easier to observe with a telescope or binoculars.
