November 8 – Daily Feast

November 8 – Daily Feast

Listen, if you do not care about yourself, who is going to? If you are not acquainted with your own spirit, who will be? Listen, there are secrets in your heart that you have refused to hear. There is strength in your mind and in your soul that you have not used. Who told you that you would never amount to anything? Did you say it, or did you hear it said? It is a lie. You see, Spirit is the only One that knows you. Has He said you won’t make it? Never, because He knows you can. If you will only believe in yourself, if you will only take the initiative and move one step, He will move two. All you have to do is to care about yourself and your Creator.

Calendar of the Sun for October 23rd

Calendar of the Sun

23 Winterfyllith

Day of the Scorpion: Beginning of Scorpio

Colors: Dark red
Element: Water
Altar: Set with a cloth of dark red, a large chalice of red wine, a curved knife, a candle, a whip, and a wreath of thorns.
Offerings: Extremities – of asceticism, or indulgence.
Daily Meal: Meat. Bitter greens. Vinegar. Spicy or sour food. Shark or eel.

Invocation to Scorpio

Desert’s child of the scorching heat,
Bearing each night of barren cold,
Springing from the core of the earth,
Underground water running beneath,
Darkest cave of mysteries,
You whose gift is Desire,
Bless us with the ability
To follow our true passions,
And to start over again from the beginning
When the burning comes.
By the power of all that transforms,
You challenge us
To forever stoke the inner flame.
May we go forth with lust for life.

(The Scorpio chant is a low ohm, in multiple harmonies. Afterwards, one who has been chosen to do the work of the ritual approaches with the wine in one hand and the wreath of thorns in the other. S/he asks, “Wilt thou have agony or oblivion?” To accept and hold the wreath is to say that one has been asleep for too long, and needs to be violently awakened. To accept the wine is to say that there has been too much pain, and one needs respite from it. If one accepts neither, s/he says, “Thou hast enough of either, so thou must give some away to others.” The individual must then either offer massages to those who chose oblivion, or a whipping to those who chose agony.)

September 29 – Daily Feast

September 29 – Daily Feast

Certain sounds and fragrances come through more clearly in autumn than any other time. It is always satisfying to take a thermos of coffee and a sweet roll and disappear into the countryside just to sit and absorb the unending wonders of nature. Beneath the bent grasses in the meadow is new growth of plants that will survive the winter. Mullein that is called Indian tobacco spreads its broad furry leaves and will grow low until spring. All along the paths are wild turkey tracks and tracks that appear to be small palm prints but belong to the raccoon. Red tail hawks ride the currents overhead and a flock of gulls turn silver as they move swiftly. It is autumn, but it is even more. This is life that gives us peace.

~ Holy Mother Earth, the trees and all nature are witness to your thoughts and deeds. ~

The Witches Spell for Tuesday, January 29th: Spell to Remember Your Past Life

Spell to Remember Your Past Life

What You’ll Need:

a white candle

a glass filled with water and flower petals

a mirror

Place the mirror inside the bowl. Light the candle and place it and the bowl beside your bed. When you are in your meditative state, surrounded by light, Imagine a television. The television should give you the sense of being in front of your physical body, and NOT in your head. If you see the television in your mind’s  eye then you are not doing this technique correctly.

See your life going back, yesterday, last year, your childhood, your birth, the safety of your Mother’s womb, go back further. Don’t think – “Oh what’s before that?” It should come to you naturally, you may be transported to a memory anytime throughout you past life, it may be a mundane moment, it may be something exciting, it may be you sleeping!

If you find yourself implanting details or trying to FILL in the blank (there probably will be some missing details the first time around) STOP and try again. You may want to listen to a past life regression hypnosis or meditation if you find it too  difficult to do on your own.

The Witches Spell for October 25th – Simple Yet Powerful Healing Spell

SIMPLE YET POWERFUL HEALING SPELL

1 blue candle (light blue)

Grains of paradise

Cinnamon oil

Clear Quartz Crystal w/ black tourmaline through it

Anoint the blue candle with cinnamon oil (be careful not to touch your eyes or face, or any other part of your body with oil before washing your hands.) This oil is very powerful and carries high spiritual vibes and Healing vibes. From the center of the candle outward, to each end, rub the oil on the candle while visualizing you friend and saying “this candle is ….”. Light it.

Sit and feel the earth beneath you facing north. Feel the moving and yet stable and powerful life force in the ground. Feel your spine connected to the deep earth and turn your consciousness to the center of yourself. You are in a place of stillness and there is nothing else but you and this time and space.

Know that to your right is the archangel Raphael. He is the physician / and musician. Call to him and ask him to protect and bless your eastern gate.

Behind you is Michael. He is the Archangel of the south. He is the warrior. Strong and fearless and brave. He does not fight without a cause. Call and ask him to guard and bless your southern gate.

To your left is Gabriel. He is the Archangel of initiation. Ask for his blessings and protection of the western gate. He will lead you and help you.

In front of you is Uriel. He is the Archangel of death and natural law. He will never take anyone before their time. He will allow people to experience what they need to grow spiritually. He is very lawful and trustworthy. Ask him to guard and protect your northern gate. Tell him you do not want him take your beloved friend.

Take the grains of paradise and split into four sections ( hand full, about a teaspoon ). Take up one section at a time. Go to each quarter separately. Hold up the fist full of grains and state your wish.

Empower it and state it as a fact not a question. Make it a statement. (Like…,”….. is well and healed. She feels good and strong and will continue to go into remission.) then throw the grains as far as you can. Do this for each direction. Take the crystal to the four directions and ask the Archangels to bless and charge the stone. Be specific about what you think each with their gift they should bring to your friend.

Then pass the stone through the flame of the candle (do not burn yourself!). Chant over it while visualizing your friend happy and healthy and glowing with white and golden light.

This is the spell that I intone
flesh to flesh and bone to bone
Sinew to sinew and vein to vein
each one shall be whole again.

Then set the stone down in front of the candle. Let the candle burn out. When it is done, put the stone in a crystal pouch and give it to your friend to keep near him/her.

Mabon Celebrations Around the World

Mabon Celebrations Around the World

By Patti Wigington

Mabon is the time of the second harvest, and of thanksgiving.

At the time of the autumn equinox, there are equal hours of light and dark. It is a time of balance, and while summer is ending, the winter is approaching. This is a season in which farmers are harvesting their fall crops, gardens are beginning to die, and the earth gets a bit cooler each day. Let’s look at some of the ways that this second harvest holiday has been honored around the world for centuries.

  • In China, the moon’s birthday falls around the time of the autumn equinox. Special holiday birthday cakes are baked with flour from harvested rice, and families gather together to honor the moon. It is believed that flowers will fall from the sky on the night of the moon’s birthday, and those who saw them fall would be blessed with great abundance.
  • Many English counties still observe Michaelmas, which is the feast of St. Michael, on September 29. Customs included the preparation of a meal of goose which had been fed on the stubble of the fields following the harvest (called a stubble-goose). There was also a tradition of preparing special larger-than-usual loaves of bread, and St. Michael’s bannocks, which was a special kind of oatcake.
  • Long before the Pilgrims arrived in the New World, the Native peoples of North America celebrated the harvest with thanksgiving festivals in the autumn. This typically included lots of meat and grains to eat. Games and activities were held, and it was also useful as a time of matchmaking between neighboring villages.
  • In some Germanic countries, people worried about the fate of their grain harvest. If there was a great deal of wind during the harvesting season, it could be because Odin wanted a share of the crop. To keep him happy, a few spare sacks of flour were emptied into the wind.
  • The Yoruba people of Nigeria had a celebration in October to celebrate the yam harvest. Dances were held to honor the ancestors, and to bid farewell to those who might have died in the past year. Yams were offered to dancers in hopes that a fertile crop would appear next year. Interestingly, studies have shown that women who consume a lot of yams (real African yams, not sweet potatoes) are statistically more likely to conceive twins, so there is certainly a link between yams and fertility symbolism!
  • The Iroquois people celebrated a Corn Dance each fall. This was a way to give thanks for the ripening of the grain — songs, dances and drumming were part of the celebration. Naturally, food played an important part as well, including corn bread and soup.
  • For the ancient Druids, the fall equinox was Alban Elfed. Many contemporary Druids celebrate this as at time of balance and thanksgiving.

The Conjuration of Archangel Gabriel

The Conjuration of Archangel Gabriel

Conjure the man in linen when you need a bit of encouragement or strength (Though he may overwhelm you!)

Items You Will Need:

  • Day of Moon or Monday
  • Hour of Moon (Optional)
  • Anise, orange, rose, sage scents
  • Azurite, Citrine, Rutilated Quartz, or Sapphire

The Spell:

If you are unsure when the Day of Moon is, a Monday will work just as well. Though, it is optional. The conjuration will just have a higher success rate on these days.

Start by applying the anise, orange, rose, or sage scents to yourself or the room you are working in (Incense or oils, though the real herbs anise, rose, or sage will do)

Sit in a chair or on the ground comfortably with your eyes closed. Your offering (Azurite, Citrine, Rutilated Quartz, Sapphire, etc.) should be within your palms. How you interact with Gabriel now, is up to your personal self. If you are clairvoyant, you will see him within your mind’s eye. If clairaudient, you will hear his commanding voice. Clairsentient, you will feel his masculine energies.

Elder’s Meditation of the Day – March 10

Elder’s Meditation of the Day – March 10

“I know Grandpa told me that to smoke is Wakan (holy). The smoke you inhale represents the spirits of everything you put into the pipe. When you breather in the smoke, you are asking to become one with everything or to become whole.”

–Dr. A.C. Ross (Enhanamani), LAKOTA

The smoke allows us to go from the Seen World to the Spirit World. It is in the Spirit World where we are all connected. In this way, we can become one with all things. Our pipe is sacred. We need to be respectful of our medicine. When we smoke the pipe, we need to have good thoughts because these thoughts are shared with the Spirit World. The pipe, the smoke, the spirits, our thoughts-these things are Wakan.

Great Spirit, today, let my thoughts be Wakan.
