June 11, 2024

The current moon phase for June 11th, 2024 is the Waxing Crescent phase.

On this day, the moon is 5.09 days old and 25.05% illuminated with a tilt of 149.729°. The approximate distance from Earth to the moon is 398,362.98 km and the moon sign is Leo.

The Moon phase for June 11th, 2024 is a Waxing Crescent phase. This is the phase where the moon started to become visible again after the New Moon.

In this part of the moon cycle, the Moon is moving away from the Sun and is becoming more and more illuminated by sunlight. In this phase, the moon will go from 0.1% to 49.9% illuminated before reaching the First Quarter phase.

In the Waxing Crescent phase the moon rises before noon in the east, transits the meridian before sunset, before setting in the west before midnight.

The Waxing Crescent phase, like all moon phases, will last for just over 7 days. The actual length will vary because of the elliptical shaped orbit of the moon. The moon is close to the Sun in the sky and the right edge will become brighter as it approaches 50% illumination and the First Quarter phase

Fun fact: although only a small part of the Moon is illuminated in the Waxing Crescent phase, you can still sometimes see the rest of moon as faintly visible. This is known as “earthshine” or Da Vinci glow and is a result of sunlight being reflected off the Earth and back to the Moon.

Love The Skin You Are In Spell

For this spell you will need:

The Star tarot card

One white candle

Loose tea or lavender herb

Jasmine or rose oil.

Give yourself some quiet time as you allow yourself to relax and clear your mind. Place the tarot card beside where you are casting on a clean, clear surface. Anoint the candle with the oil and sprinkle the herb around it in a clockwise direction.

Meditate for a while on the Star Tarot card, let your gaze soften as you allow the energy of this beautiful card to merge with your subconscious mind. The Star is an optimistic, balanced, calm and healing card. It indicates success and achievement and invokes a feeling of confidence and increased self-esteem. The figure in the card is naked outside, she is at one with her surroundings, the Universe and herself.

When the candle has safely burned down, sprinkle the herbs outside and place the Star card under your pillow overnight to further connect with its energies.

Merry meet dear Sisters, Brothers, and Honored Guests, Welcome to WOTC! A Thought for Today

I am healing slowly but at least I can use the fingers on my left hand to type a little bit now. I am not ready to do tomorrow posts yet. I will return to doing the tomorrow posts as soon as I feel comfortable doing so. Found out after going to Urgent Care that I managed to hurt my next fairly bad also. Which explains why I cannot sit at my computer or anywhere else for that matter without quite a bit of pain and a pounding headache. As my dearest friend, Lady Rhiannon, keeps telling me for over 20 years I have to slow down and be more aware of what is a round me before I start walking.

If you want to see some information on any tradition of witchcraft, please put it in the comment section. I will try to find some information to post about it.

May your and your family’s lives be filled with all things positive!

Merry part until we merry meet again!

All Signs

This week is challenging because everyone is a bit grumpy. Of course, grumpiness is a choice. It’s true that certain circumstances are upsetting, but we have the choice of how to react. If I choose to be grumpy -the first person who suffers is me. I’m the first casualty. Then others are next. I might feel guilty for my behavior and justify it by validating my right to be being grumpy. Grrr. And so it goes. But if I choose not to be grumpy – I’ll be happier! Others will be happier! Each of us has this power of choice. Every day. This week will be the test. To grump or not to grump – that is the question.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

This is a fast-paced week. You’ve got things to do, places to go and people to see. You’re keen to read, write and learn new things. You might teach. Despite the fact that this week has its challenges, more than other signs, you have the good fortune of being able to appreciate your daily surroundings in a real, genuine way. Nevertheless, expect power struggles about money, earnings and cash flow; perhaps these confrontations are about something that you own, perhaps a possession. Someone might dispute the ownership, or harm your assets. Ironically, it’s timely for you to downsize and let go of what you don’t need. (Lighten up!)

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

This week will bring challenges your way. No question. For starters, you have a strong focus on money and possessions. (These are things you don’t take casually. Money matters.) And of course, you care about what you own, especially your antiques and collectibles. You also care about your property. These areas might or might not be why you’ll find yourself in a confrontation with an authority figure this week. Be careful because this clash could make you suffer defeat. (It’s a ruthless energy at play.) Initially, you might want to transform things and make them better, but you encounter an opposition. Grrr. Things could get nasty. Remember: Your first loss is your cheapest loss.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Well, there’s good news and there’s bad news. The good news is you have the advantage over all the other signs because the Sun, your ruler Mercury, Venus and lucky Jupiter are all in your sign! (Major horseshoes!) This makes things flow easily for you and boosts your good fortune. Furthermore, you’ll attract money, gifts and favours to you. That’s the good news. The bad news is that fiery Mars, in a hidden part of your chart, is at odds with Pluto, which will create opposition with others, especially at universities or with travel issues, or publishing, the media, medicine and the law. Steer clear of controversial subjects! Dealings with parents and bosses could be stressful. Don’t ask for approval or permission. Just wait.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

I think you’ll handle the aggro of this week because you’re keeping a low profile. Most of the planets in your chart are “hiding” right now. But not all. Fiery Mars (which is tied up with your ego) is in your House of Friendships and Groups, and it’s at odds with Pluto. This is not the time to push your agenda with others, especially clubs and organizations. (This includes competitive sports.) Furthermore, Mercury is at odds with Saturn, which means legal matters might be stalled in the water. You might feel discouraged dealing with universities, foreign countries, other cultures and medical matters. Keep your head down and your powder dry.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

A tricky part about this week is that for starters, it’s a popular time for you. You’re more active seeing friends and interacting with clubs and organizations. On top of that, your ambition is aroused, which means you’re pushing into various areas with more enthusiasm than usual. However, you might encounter criticism from a friend or a group. (If there is one sign who hates criticism – it’s you. You thrive on compliments!) Plus, you have issues related to taxes, shared property and insurance matters that might be depressing. Meanwhile, power struggles with partners, friends and bosses are also draining. “Et tu, Brute?” Tread water this week. (Read All Signs above.)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

There’s no doubt that this is a challenging week for everyone, including you. However, on the upside, with four planets at the top of your chart, you look capable, attractive and appealing to others. You’ve got your game face on. (This is an advantage.) Nevertheless, conversations with partners and close friends will be challenging and difficult. Don’t take things to heart. Keep in mind that everyone is dealing with a lot of stress this week. Meanwhile, power struggles about politics, religion or ideological issues are also in the mix. This can be draining. Steer clear of these if you can. Get out into nature because this rejuvenates you.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Many Librans work in the law or politics because you’re skilled in these areas. (You’re good with words and quick to see all sides of an issue.) Nevertheless, it is precisely these areas that might create problems with someone this week, especially related to your job, your health or even a pet. Regardless of what you think, someone older or more experienced might pull rank. You might face criticism and resistance. In addition to which, power struggles with romantic partners (or your kids) about shared property, shared responsibilities or funding might also be a sticky wicket. Try to avoid these areas this week. Take the high ground. (The view is better.)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Patience is a virtue. The irony is that the only way we can cultivate patience is by having it tested. If you’re relaxing on a beach while someone serves you delicious drinks with pink parasols in them as you watch waves breaking in a shimmering sun set – you don’t need to be patient. You need patience when people are irritating, you’re running late, you encounter unexpected obstacles and then your car breaks down on a busy bridge during rush hour. (If you can think of a way to add tangled Christmas tree lights to this scenario – even better.) Be patient with loved ones this week, especially partners. Expect discouraging news about financial matters. This too, shall pass.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

This week Mercury along with other planets is opposite your sign opposing you. Furthermore, Mercury is at odds with Saturn. This is the classic situation for discouragement and tough times dealing with older family members. Meanwhile, in another part of the forest, power struggles related to your health, a pet or your job might become an issue. It’s all a bit much. (It will drive some to Bingo.) The thing to keep in mind is that the challenges and stresses that you encounter this week are temporary. It’s not “The way things are.” It’s “The way things are this week.” It’s important to get that into perspective. Speaking of perspective, five years from now, how much will any of this matter? Think about this.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

If you read All Signs above, you know this week is challenging. People will be grumpy, irritated and quick to anger. Circumstances might be difficult. Fortunately, more than any sign in the zodiac, you exemplify the saying, “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” (Oh sure, “the tough” can also “go shopping.”) You’re not a quitter. You can handle adversity. Be patient with your kids. Be patient with your romantic partners. Don’t let issues that are work-related or related to your pet or even related to your health get you down. The saving grace to know is that this is a temporary speedbump. Ironically, your health and your job are going to improve immensely this year and next year as well! Count on this.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Be aware right from the get go that this week will have its challenges dealing with kids as well romantic partners. Issues related to the cost of vacations, social outings and sports-related matters might also create arguments. As if that weren’t enough, power struggles within the family are also taking place because increased chaos and activity on the home front are building up at this time. Do not be part of the problem. Work to be part of the solution. For that matter, the solution might just be to let things settle and find their own level. Although next week is a bit confusing, by the end of the month, things will restore themselves in a lovely way. So, you have to wait things out and do this with grace, patience and kindness to others. Cut someone some slack. It’s no biggie.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Your focus on family, home repairs and redecorating projects, as well as entertaining at home, will continue this month. The key is to be patient with family members, especially older relatives and parents. Bite your tongue before you say something you might regret. Read the room. Censor your words. What’s to be gained by a clever but nasty retort? Nothing. But if you refrain from doing this, you gain in personal discipline by practising patience. Resist the urge to coerce others into your way of thinking, even if you’re right. Instead, take a step back – look at your life – alphabetize your blessings. The challenges this week are temporary.

Friday: The day of beauty

Friday: The day of beauty

Frigg was the Norse goddess of beauty, love, household, fertility and motherhood. She was Odin’s wife. She wonderfully balances out the dreadfulness of all the masculine gods sitting around our week table.

Derived from Latin Dies Veneris, Friday is viernes in Spanish, vendredi in French and venerdi in Italian. The day belongs to Venus, the Roman goddess of beauty, love and fertility.

True Beauty Spell

You need:

A dish full of earth (good soil, not dry, dusty dirt) A yellow candle A full-sized mirror Olive, patchouli, jasmine, or cinnamon essential oil A small flower pot A flower or plant seed

Anoint the candle with the essential oil you have chosen. Place it in the center of the dish of earth. Light it and sit down with it between you and a mirror.

Look deeply into the mirror, concentrate on your reflection. Without being vain, consider the things you find most beautiful about yourself — not just physically but mentally. What is your inner beauty, what is your outer beauty? It’s important that you never think of what you feel must be “changed”, be as positive about the beauty that you have already.

Perform this ritual 3 nights in a row.

Once the entire candle has burnt down, remove the wax from the dish. Place the earth from the dish inside a small flower pot and plant a seed inside it.

Water it and care for it so that it grows properly.

How The New Moon in Gemini (June 6, 2024) Will Affect Your Zodiac Sign

There’s a new moon in Gemini headed our way, and it’s encouraging us to be curious, flexible, and multifaceted in our pursuits. As you may remember, the new moon represents the beginning of an energy cycle, signifying a fresh start and an opportunity for new beginnings in our lives. As the moon aligns with the sun in Gemini, the energy of this mutable air sign intensifies. Luna will officially renew itself on June 6 at exactly 8:37 a.m. ET via 16 degrees of this mutable air sign.

Empower yourself by referencing your birth chart to identify the astrological house that belongs to Gemini. This will guide your new moon reflection, but consider mercurial themes such as communication, thought processes, and your immediate surroundings. What sparks your curiosity? What questions do you have about the future? Consider the intentions you wish to set under this lunation. This is a time for exploration, diversity, and intellectual stimulation.

The moon will also conjunct Venus during the love planet’s cazimi (the heart of the sun) in Gemini, which is happening between June 4 and 6, 2024. During this time, a cycle that began in 2020 (during Venus retrograde in Gemini) will reach a climactic point. If you remember what you were up to then (specifically when considering your relationships, values, and sense of self-worth), the new moon is here to help you cultivate new habits. Again, don’t be afraid to shift your mindset.

Look at it this way—you’re experiencing a level-up wherever Gemini is in your chart. So, if the past four years were unsettling (when considering Venus in Gemini themes: communication in your relationships, vocalizing your values, etc.), you’re about to see things through a new lens. Reflect on what you’re willing to explore, and …

New Moon in Gemini 2024 – and Tarot Readings for Each Zodiac Sign

Source: thetarotlady.com

New Moons occur when the Sun and Moon align in the same sign. They signal the beginning of a new lunar cycle and the opportunity to start new things. This year’s New Moon in Gemini is auspicious because a bevy of planets are forming a Gemini conga line in the cosmos. Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter are moving through the sign of the Twins, adding extra oomph to all things associated with Gemini, especially communication, learning, and information. The day could be filled with interesting news or opportunities to expand your mind. Of course, you’ll need to be discerning because disinformation could be in the mix. Gemini energy is tricky like that. Not everything you hear will be accurate, so listen carefully.

Before the New Moon, the Sun and Venus align on the 4th, a potent aspect associated with self-expression, optimism, and attraction. This lays out the red carpet for effective manifestation work. What do you want to bring into your life? Sketch out your dreams and be ready to send those intentions to the Universe when the New Moon arrives on June 6th at 8:38 AM EDT.

The New Moon in Gemini 2024 is supported by a sweet conjunction with Venus at 9:36 AM EDT, which is like a cosmic blessing. Venus is a benefic, so this amplifies luck. In other words: you better wish!

This is also an excellent day for lively conversations, writing, thinking, debating, flirting, and starting new intellectual pursuits. Sign up for that class, begin working on that novel, say heyyyy to that hottie, and catch up on all the latest dirt. Who can be bored when this clever mutable energy is so abundant?

One caveat: the Moon squares off with Saturn at 1:19 PM EDT. This could rain on that Gemini parade, but it won’t last long. If you sense a sour vibe setting in, take a break until it blows over. It’s also possible this might be when disinformation is running wild. Once again, be careful what you take in. If it doesn’t ring true, it’s probably bullshit.

Other than that bit of nonsense, this day is LIT. Let’s do this!

Aries: Four of Swords – Rest up. You have big things coming due and need to conserve your energy.

Taurus: Five of Swords – The ugly truth is revealed. Now you can see other people’s true colors.

Gemini: Two of Wands – You are in a great position. Everything is possible. Think big!

Cancer: Star – A great healing is taking place. Peace, harmony, and health are on the way.

Leo: Three of Cups – Your social life gets busy. Fun, celebration, and good times! Yay!

Virgo: Six of Swords – You are moving on, away from situations that no longer serve you. Look ahead.

Libra: Ten of Swords – Something has come to an end. Rise up! New possibilities are ready to bloom!

Scorpio: Page of Swords – Important professional news is on the way. This could be a mentally stimulating period.

Sagittarius: Nine of Pentacles – Everything prospers you now. Be grateful for your good fortune.

Capricorn: Queen of Cups – Love flows all around you. Open your heart and let it transform you!

Aquarius: The Emperor – You are in the power position. Call the shots and protect the realm.

Pisces: Seven of Swords – It may be necessary to fly under the radar. Don’t reveal your hand.

Blessings,

Theresa

The Moon’s current phase for today and tonight is a Waning Crescent phase. This phase is best viewed just before the sunrise in the western sky. In this phase the Moon’s illumination is growing smaller each day until the New Moon. During this part of the Moon cycle, the Moon is getting closer to the Sun as viewed from Earth and the night side of the Moon is facing the Earth with only a small edge of the Moon being illuminated. It can also be a great time to see the features of the Moon’s surface. Along the edge where the illuminated portion meets the dark side, the craters and mountains cast long shadows making them easier to observe with a telescope or binoculars.

Some Tips on Empowering Charms and Keeping Them Cleansed

First do not use the word talisman or amulet in place of charm. The reason being is they are three different types of objects. Also we are not talking about charms you would find on a charm bracelet. A talisman is the equivalent of a good luck piece or can be spelled for protection and it carried with you all the time. An amulet is usually a necklace with a pendant hang from it the has been spelled and charged for protection, a closed connection to a Goddess or God, a symbol of a person’s spiritual practice. An amulet can be spelled for a purpose such as protection or to keep others’ emotions from getting to you in a limited way and still be a symbol of a person’s spiritual practice. Anything from a leaf to a seven-foot candle including anything you might want to use as a charm in your home, at work, or in your vehicle. Today we will be concentrating on spelling a charm.

Always form a sacred circle to do your spell work in. Remember to either ground or let the positive energy free when you open your sacred circle. You need to cleanse the object of all energy except what it is made of, so when you spell the object there is no one else’s energy involved in it but your own. Call in whatever Goddess(es) and/or God(s) will help you achieve the outcome for your spell.

Make sure your spell wording is very specific for what you want the spell to do before you empower an object. Otherwise, anyone who has touched the object before their energy will remind on or in the object and will weaken your spell work.

So now you have your sacred circle done and the object cleansed awaiting your energy and spell work to empower to make it into a charm. You should repeat your spell a minimum of three times. I repeat the spell nine times for maximum power. I usually than sit in the circle holding the object I just charmed until I feel it is time to put it wherever I am going to use the charmed object. I picture sitting wherever I am placing it and doing whatever I have empowered/spelled it to do. Once you feel you have put as much energy into as you want to for that day let the Goddess(es) and/or God(s) depart with you thanking them for their help.

(I have a glass container in every room in my home they all contain some stones, a feather, wooden matchstick, and a seashell of some sort. I have them charmed to not only help protect our home but to continuedly trickle out loving positive energy. These are simple to make and when we have visitors they really don’t ask about the container and to them strange contents. Pick glass containers that fit in with your homes decor and then they appear as a nick knack. More on these in Tomorrow Spell For Today)

Now it is time to open your sacred circle you can either ground on excess enrgy you raised to Mother Earth for however she wants to use it or just let it go into the Universe to be used however it wants to use it.

These suggestions for charms come from shiroshine:

Whenever I charge a charm of any sort, I mark my calendar to remind me to check-in on it in a week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, and then, if it has been “good to go” that whole time, I recharge it after a month’s work 🙂 Of course, if it starts Feeling weakened before that, I will recharge it at that time

Suggestion to keep the charm clean with an elemental cleansing which you should do before every time you want to recharge it or you feel the object needs to be cleansed:

Place the object under running water and say three times: Water, please take all energy but mine, the spell on this ____ and what the object is made of.

Either take the object out into the sun or place it in a place where sunlight shines on it and say three times: Fire, take all energy but mine, the spell on this ____ and what the object is made of.

While outside or by an open window or in front of a fan or use a hand fan and say three times: Air take all energy but mine, the spell on this ____ and what the object is made of.

If you are outside place the object on the ground or if inside have some dirt or salt to sprinkle on the object and say three times: Earth, take all energy but mine, the spell on this ____ and what the object is made of.

If you are outside hold the object up in the air if possible and say three times: Spirit, I ask you to recharge the spell on this ____ and what the object is made of.
