There are times when I wish my children were young again and my home was filled with the noises of laughter over different things, like a joke someone told or TV show or a silly passage from a book one of us would be reading or playing a fun family game. I would even like to hear them complaining or bickering about one thing or another to me or with each other or especially with my mom.
I am very proud of them as “adults” and how they live their lives. I’m overjoyed with the 2 and 4 legged grandchildren they have blessed me with. The love and happiness I feel when I’m in one of their homes or a family gathering.
Tonight though, I’m enjoying the mostly quiet house while listening to the snores from Big Dawg and our furry kid beautiful opus. Considering that no one else’s family’s opus is going to sound just like ours makes it even more special to me. Granted they each snore a different way and pitch which might just sound like noise to any of you.
This takes me back to when my children were younger, summers were amazing as all five of my children would at home with my mom and me, and listening to my children’s and mom’s calming snoring opus!
The Universe has blessed night for me by melding yesterday and the present, old memories, and new. I know from experience that I will wake up more refreshed because of the music I’m hearing tonight.
Maybe I should try to record Big Dwag, Crystal and myself all sleeping soundly that way my snoring can be included in our homes “Ode to Sleep” opus. But maybe not because BD says I snore louder than anyone else in the house…lol
Seriously, if you have not listened to the human and animal companion sounds, when you’re the only one awake, try it.
Some tips my experience has taught me to get the most calming energy, that life is great feeling, and filling my love cup until it overflows all through our home and out into the universal energy for others to use this energy and love for whatever they might need it for.
1: Tune out the furnace/AC, fans, ice dropping in your freezer, wind, or whatever the weather is throwing your way. etcetera. This will definitely take some practice. Turn the baby/child monitor down, if you use one, until it’s barely hearable.
2: Turn off your cellohone/mobile phone, computer, laptop, tablet, raidos, and TV. This helps you not to be distracted by any of them.
3: Try to tune in only to the sounds of your loved ones sleeping. Close your eyes as this takes away visual distractions. Pretend you can enlarge the outside part of your ear as big as you can or want to so you don’t miss any of those lovely notes! I picture mine as large wolf ears as canines hear so much better than we do.
I have found out that listening to this “music” is great for my insomnia!
I also use this “music” sometimes to meditate with when I’m in the mood to
To me, it is so much better than regular “white noise” or other things on the market to supposedly help people to fall asleep or reach a deep meditated state. It is certainly less expensive than those things are.
Remember you may not have the experience you accepted the first few times because in a tiny way you are adjusting what you hear and do not want to hear but that’s OK. Great things come with a large dose of patience. Be kind to yourself if you choose to try this by not expecting perfection or near perfect the first few or perhaps many times you try it. It will come to you sooner or later.
